This isn't the first time I asked him for space.
The reason I asked for space in the first place is because I have unresolved traumas and problems and I wanted to face them alone without having to worry if I neglected him by doing so. I've been neglected as a child and I never want to let another person experience it, to which I applied in all of my relationships.
We're in a long distance relationship. Our main communication is via chats or video calls. He's the kind of guy that will always give me an update without me asking for it. In return, all he asks is me messaging him with good morning, goodnight, or little bit of updates whenever I'm not busy.
The first time I asked for space, he threw a tantrum because he got scared of losing me. In his mind, asking for space is just the first step of break ups.
The second time I asked for space, he agreed. 4 days later he called me, crying, because his BIL died.
I believe the first time I made a man my world was when I was 15. I was head over heels and I didn't prioritize my school and even left my friends because I didn't want to neglect my ex-SO.
I'm now 25, and for those 10 years I didn't fully experience what it's like to be single or just be a normal individual. It always involves a partner and do decisions that needed to be considerate to the partner.
Granted, my bf is better than my ex. He also assurred me that he will support me whatever my decision is. But lately, I didn't feel it. I wanted to enjoy my life at its finest but he always inserts an unplanned event that will ruin my plans.
I'm not rich and I tend to explore life in my own pace with the little I have. Like, I will save money to go out for a day and eat out from breakfast to dinner and go buy new sets of clothes. Then he messages me that he will come to my city to spend time with me, which means we had to pay for accommodations and food. No, he can't stay and sleep in my house and he has no relatives here. Yes, he does pay his share but sometimes it's not enough so I had to pay my share as well. The one I saved for a self date will end up being spent with him.
This is not the first time my budget plans are ruined because of him.
At first I tried to convince myself that it's okay as long as we're happy. But lately I feel the tension building up and my heart ached whenever I remember the ruined plans I had for myself.
He's 31 and has 8+ years of experience earning his own money. He experienced going abroad and enjoying his life. He has a big wardrobe complete with presentable clothes and shoes and everything.
On the other hand, I barely explored life alone. This is my second job. I have a total work experience of 2+ years. I have a little bit of savings, and all my clothes are the ones I had since college. I rarely get to buy new things for myself and whenever I do plan to treat myself, I always end up spending it on our dates.
Y'all might say he should at least treat me with clothes. He's broke, still has unpaid debts with me, and his job doesn't have a high salary.
I guess the last straw was when we bought 2 pairs of glasses for us (using my credit card, and yes, another unplanned budget) and while he slowly paid for his share, he ended up losing the glasses.
Sometimes I'm guilty thinking about these things because I feel like I'm materialistic and immature that I let something as small as money get in the way of our relationship. I wanted to go to the gym, learn how to do makeup, do a massive wardrobe change, all because I want to improve myself — and that needs a lot of money. Yet sometimes he thinks that telling me he already likes me for me is enough.
Generally, we both have different goals and views, and because of that I wanted to break up with him. Yet whenever I do that, it's either he didn't want to, or looks for a reason to delay our breakup.
I'm not happy lately. I do appreciate that he did his best to balance his work, his personal life, and his time with me. I did see it. But whenever he calls me, it was just a quick "how are you?" then ends the call because he has something to do. Whenever we have a video call, the camera is on but he will talk to the people around him, and I end up scroling through TikTok or Facebook while listening to their conversations. On a rare occasion that his attention is focused on me, it's either I spend it listening to his speech about his job, or we literally have nothing enjoyable to talk about since we don't have that much in common anymore.
Today, I finally asked for space and I am not taking no as an answer anymore. I'm glad that he didn't throw a tantrum like before, but his last message was asking me if I still love him. I left the message on read and didn't respond.
I honestly don't know if I still love him. Also, his last message pissed me off as I see it as another attempt to disrespect my space.
Was I too harsh? Is this relationship worth saving?

Hello, I’m 32 yr (F) reconciling with my 30 yr (M) husband after he had an affair a year ago. So far, it has been going well, he has changed a lot of things and given up ALOT MORE to prove to me just how serious he is. He’s trying really hard and has been 100% open (gave me all his passwords, information to everything as he was hiding his affair from me for months until I caught him). Anyway, it is going well, even my parents (although hesitant) have been trying for my sake, and insist on him “ripping the bandaid” and coming to family gatherings (even just hangout on Sundays). Well…here’s my question to you. My sisters (18yrs old and 20 yrs old) insist on avoiding him at all costs. They want nothing. They don’t want to even be in the same room as him. And it breaks my heart. What would be the best way to talk to them about it? They are old enough, but I just don’t know how to start the conversation…HELP!!!

A long while back, I (then 20, now 23) decided to have a ONS with a former college acquantaince I felt nothing for. I found out about his cheating through an old 2 year-old text message. He would've kept me in the dark. I thought it wasn't fair that he cheated and I lost my virginity to him. So I cheated back and told him the following week out of spite. It was to rub it in his face mainly. He wanted to work it out but I broke things off. It wasn't worth it but anger, low self-esteem and jealous that he his fun and I didn't took over me. Me and my girlfriend have been together for four years now since high school. Going strong but we are bound and have to run into some relationship issues. Her and I finished the school year and heading into summer now, but she is taking summer classes. I’m starting to feel uncomfortable with the fact that we barely talk anymore. She’s double busy with work and education while I really just work for our trip in a few weeks. I absolutely love her, I literally squeal and giggle thinking about her while I’m trying to sleep. But this silence has been eating away on me while my loving thoughts are keeping it at bay. Today we had a picnic at a park with pizza, fruits and the works but we barely talked on the drive to get the food and on the way to the beach and at the beach. We did cuddle and the like but what happened to the conversations? Her and I are very talkative people but it just makes me upset when I start talking and she gets confused of what I’m trying to say. She decided to have us watch a show (The Fosters) since we were sitting in total silence eating fruit, but a couple notifications pop up of her friends talking about whatever random things they talk about.
Now to connect her friends, me and my gf. I am so proud that she was able to find new friends during the last year after her close old friend has a falling out. Maybe it’s jealousy or us getting used to each other but I kinda get a weird feeling when she chats with her friends with paragraphs while I get a “oh cool” or “lol what?” In our messages.
I would really like a response to this so I can better understand what is happening. I don’t mind people being real with this so throw your stones.. just not kidney stones please.

First off I’m sorry if this comes across as a nonsensical question or insensitive of anyone experiencing body dysmorphia, I truely don’t mean to be naive nor insensitive ❤️
For context I’ve considered myself a cis male for most of my life, but recently I’ve started to believe I may be MtF transgender. Long story short, among other confusing things something I struggle with is that I don’t particularly dislike my male body, it’s that I just want to be in a female body (and be a female in general) a LOT more. Maybe it’s naive but I can’t help wonder if it’s an issue I don’t feel uncomfortable in my current body?
I’m still new to the realisation of potentially being trans, and a lot of things in my life that previously didn’t make sense to me now make more sense in light of my realisation, but seeing how big of a decision and journey it is to commit to physical/social transition changes makes it so confusing to me. If I’m mostly happy with my male body, then what’s that mean for me wanted to be female?
I know that having body dysmorphia isn’t a criteria for someone to be transgender, I’m just hoping that someone out there might have some insight 😕

This is long and I'm sorry, it's more a rant and I feel I have my answer but I've received such support and insight from reading other's posts in this community. I'm curious of people's opinions on if I seem too hard or if you would reach a similar conclusion.
I (31 F) have been dating a wonderfully kind but naive man, 35. It is our second go at a relationship. I have been grappling with my own drinking problem, was sober for 11 months last year, am currently sober and am in AA/sobriety subreddits for my own stuff. Before I tried sobriety, our main past time was going out to bars and drinking heavily. He was bummed that our dynamic had changed but was pretty supportive despite not agreeing with me that I had a drinking problem. He started drinking heavier than usual during a stressful job. I was noticing red flags,
1) He got drunk before his beloved neice's 3rd birthday party, insisted on driving, (I'm ashamed I let him drive us in his state) and showed up over two hours late and then was so wreckless with her on a bounce house she got injured. She was in real pain, sobbing the rest of the party and it took hours for her to settle down. In response, he said, "she was crying for attention" and that, "she took it in stride" but she didn't, it ruined the party for her. I was frankly disgusted and have struggled to get over it, when looking through the lens of a potential father of my kids.
2) Less than a few weeks later, he called me saying he had been arrested for driving drunk. I had to drive 2 hours to pick him up at like 3AM and he was still pretty drunk when I got there. He said he hadn't had that much to drink but I've calculated based on the beers he said he drank (he often underreports) and his BAC would've likely been double the limit if he had taken the breathalyzer. He ultimately lost his license for a year.
Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I think he was in a state of shock but the next day he was going out to dinners and then left to go on a camping trip with hard partying friends that weekend (said he didn't drink). I had begged him to get a lawyer set up before going away because I know things can move fast. I tried to have compassion but I was again frustrated at what I perceived as immaturity given the gravity of the situation. His job involves daily driving to various locations.
He planned on taking time off anyway once his job finished, right around the time of his DUI. This turned into 9 months of unemployment. I was trying to be patient, because his line of work can be fickle and some jobs had fallen through but after the 7th or so month, I checked in like, what's the plan. He was very laid back about the whole thing and figured another job would come along. (one eventually did, but he'll likely still lose his health insurance for how long he was off).
He started drinking heavily again a month or two after his DUI and I communicated that although at first I though I could deal with it, it was starting to threaten my sobriety and made me anxious all the time. I found myself checking in, tallying when he'd drank and keeping an eye on his location, all new behaviors. He acknowledged he had a problem because it was effecting me but his behavior suggests that really see an issue with it. about two months later he was back at it drinking heavily again. I gave him an ultimatim.
I started to feel toxic, because sometimes I feel like I'd call him on my way home from work (I work late nights at a bar) and figure I could catch him drunk again. I have never been like this in a relationship before and had always trusted him.
I thought I could look past the DUI, and honestly think I could've, had it spurred some change. From all the posts i read, I think he would have to have some intrinsic motivation and based on our pattern, it will always come from me. He says he needs me and that he's willing to do anything I ask, but he doesn't see how the emotional weight of doing all the pulling in the relationship (especially given my work load and his almost no work this year) is exhausting and frankly, a huuge turn off.

You weren't sure about this--or her, but it seemed like one of the only solutions you had left. The Justice League was in danger...well more like the entire world.
There was the Legion, a group of A-list Super Villains, hellbent on burning or running the world....and then there was Raven Roth, a Hero that had been possessed by some higher power demonic entity. They were desperately trying to win her over...or whatever took hold of her.
You were in between that and dealing with a few small-time rogues. In short things were getting heavy, and Zatanna seemed like the answer to your solution--even if you were anxious about showing up to one of her magic shows.

I’m (F) only 24, and I’ve got years to go that I’m excited for, but every single night I cry for my childhood. I grieve because I miss it all- the innocence, the energy, the family together under one roof, the oblivion. I also hurt for the suffering little me endured during that time. I’m not over my childhood in any way, so I deeply and painfully mourn it every single night.

Now that the nobles are calmed and the time-space rift has been closed, Satomi can finally focus on his work as a member of the Survey Corps. Traveling to and from every point all across Hisui in search of new Pokemon, new adventures, and anything else that might prove useful to his Pokemon researcher. Things were going about as normal as one could expect, at least that was until he had been contacted by the very one who had brought him to Hisui in the first place. Arceus had given him a choice; allowing him to remain in Hisui or Satomi could return to his own time, along with the Pokemon he had caught during his time in the past. It was a difficult decision, as Satomi had grown close to many of Jubilifes residents; Akari and Laventon becoming particularly close friends of his, and yet, he yearned to return home, even if he wasn't particularly fond of his family or sure of how he'd explain his sudden, lengthy disappearance... though, he's not even they'd care or believe his story unless Arceus had joined him at his family's home. After taking some time to contemplate his future, and whether he'd return to the present or remain in the past, Satomi decided that maybe returning home wouldn't hurt. Perhaps he could use the experience gained in Hisui and pursue a new journey in his home. As promised, Arceus returned him to the present, but rather than dropping him back in the modern day Sinnoh region like expected, he instead found himself in the countryside of Paldea. Confused, he did some exploring and met up with a group of researchers; he explained his situation, and they decided to help. In order to help him get used to the present once more and meet people and Pokemon alike across this new region, they aided him in gaining enrollment to Naranja Academy, though suggested he remain quiet of what had happened during his time in Hisui. Upon enrolling into the academy, he meets Y/C, becoming fast friends. Ultimately, he joins Y/C on their journey, searching for a special treasure of his own. Will his mysterious past remain a secret or will you discover that there's more than meets the eye with this unusually experienced trainer?

Crappy plot aside, I'm basically looking to isekai Satomi, a trainer based on the Pokemon: Legends protagonist, once again. This time, we're dropping him into Paldea during the events of Scarlet & Violet. Somewhere along the way, he meets Y/C for the typical Pokemon adventure. They travel about the region, find new Pokemon, meet new people, get into trouble, deal with the local 'evil' team, and all that good stuff. Seeking out both platonic and romantic shenanigans (MxF); open to both canon and OCs. The story could eventually lead to them visiting Hisui, or perhaps even journeying to other regions if we get that far. Feel free to DM me if you're interested in this!

Me (20M) and (20F) have been in a relationship for 4 years through out the years we have been very good and I have enjoyed it very much. Recently she has been crying to me telling me idk if I feel the same but I want to keep trying to feel the same. Tonight we had a conversation she had been having sexual dreams about others and not about me ( no one in particular) she claims. After having the conversation she tells me about how the late 20s to ealry 30s have been flirting with her at their bartending. She also tells me she doesn’t flirt back and I believe her but I have sick feeling she thinks about hooking up with those guys we use to have great sex but lately we have not because I had problems in the bedroom and she’s been having mental problems. I hope this make sense. I told her I’d give it till the end of the month to rethink our relationship and to try to be intimate and feel better. Idk if I am doing the right thing.
