Please help!!! I've spent the last 4 hours trying to find a solution that works well and I can't find anything online in terms of written documentation or videos on YT for my remote desktop connection woes.... Here's what I tried so far.
WHAT I'M TRYING TO ACHIEVE: I want to always be able to remote into the Ubuntu desktop. Associated settings should persist after rebooting.
Currently running - Ubuntu 22.04 LTS on a Rasp Pi 4 8GB.
What I've tried to date:
Attempt 1: Persisting settings after a reboot.

1. Configured my account to auto-login.
2. Under SETTINGS -> Sharing -> Enabled remote desktop. Also enabled legacy VNC Protocol and required a password.
   1. I set a password for remoting in.
   2. ISSUE: IF I reboot then I can no longer access the PC's desktop remotely because I get the message - "the login keyring did not get unlocked when you logged into your computer"
      1. This causes the RDP password to be automatically updated under "Sharing".
   3. SOLUTION I'VE READ THAT DOESN'T SOLVE MY USE CASE: Disable auto-login.
      1. Both the issue and solution require me to reconnect my PC to a monitokeyboard/mouse and login. Then I have to change the RDP/VNC password under Sharing back to what it was before. Only then can I RDP back in.
   4. ANOTHER SOLUTION I'VE READ BUT WOULD PREFER NOT TO TRY UNLESS REQUIRED: Update the password and confirm password to blank. That way the keyring won't be locked.
      1. This is bad for obvious security reasons.
3. Note: If I don't reboot MS RDP works fine. It's fairly snappy and I can do what I need. However, I can't get it to persist.

Attempt 2: RDP vs. VNC.

1. Configured my account to auto-login.
2. Tried VNC Viewer from the PC remoting in.
   1. Got a black screen.
   2. Saw there's an issue because of 'Wayland'.
      1. Disabled Wayland -> rebooted and it was on X11 (I think).
      2. VNC viewer didn't make a difference -> still black screen.
3. Tried TigerVNC from the PC remoting in.
   1. Was very very slow.
4. Tried TightVNC from the PC remoting in.
   1. Was also really slow despite updating settings.
5. Note: RDP works if I don't reboot. Was hoping to get VNC working only because that's what I have experience using but if no one has this working and is working well, then I don't have a problem using RDP.

Attempt 3: Install VNC server.

1. ONLY READ ABOUT THIS: Someone on Wayland said setting up the server and connecting with VNC viewer still have them a black screen.
   1. Didn't actually try this myself though or try to switch back to X11 to see if that'd make a difference.

At this point I'm all out of ideas...
TLDR; Has anyone been able to successfully remote desktop into Ubuntu 22.04 LTS AND for the settings to persist so I can access the PC after a reboot?

Just started 2 separate investment accounts not long ago: a Roth IRA and an automated investment account, investing in Moderate diversified ETF’s.
For my Roth IRA, I’m currently investing in VTI, VXUS, VOO, BND.
