Bought about 2 years ago as a refurb from Amazon. Used by me maybe a total of 30-40 times. Has been COLLECTING DUST since I got a gaming laptop Battery never overflowed. Unplugged when at full charge. Battery health listed as "excellent" as determined by Dell BIOS Trackpad is great, keystrokes are great, everything about this laptop is great (besides the fact that after 2015 it was being outclassed) Dunno how will ship this one yet if shipping
Crucial ballistix RAM: $22 local or $23+shipping 2x8gb ddr4 3000mhz CL-15 Not really much to say Will be mailed in bubble mailer. Maybe like $5 total to ship
Cowin headphones $10 local or +shipping This item was also mine. I tried it on once and never used it I have no audio cable for it I literally know nothing about it. Was given to me for my birthday but I'm not a headphones guy
KINGWIN Sata to usb box: $8 local or +shipping or free with order over $40 Also also mine. I used it once an when trying to fiddle with hdds. Never again Has sata to molex, sata to sata, sata to usb, some other stuff i dont recognize. Most of it is open box as only the sata to usb cable was used Idk how much these go for
Steelseries Rival 3 $5 local or +shipping or free with order over $40 This also also also was mine It worked for the most part but when it was lightly dropped from even tiny heights, it had a stroke for a few seconds, as in the cursor would lag hard when I dragged the mouse, so it's a bit sensitive. I think the ballpoint or something got knocked out of place (idk mouse terminology or troubleshooting) It's pretty damn dirty. Collecting dust and last time I dropped some soil (yes real soil) but it didnt have an effect on the mouse when I continued using it while waiting for a replacement I think this is the exact model:
https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Rival-Gaming-Mouse-Programmable/dp/B08176SM7C/ref=sr_1_3?crid=SYJ0LMDO6PAT&keywords=steelseries+rival+3&qid=1686056343&s=electronics&sprefix=steelseries+rival+3%2Celectronics%2C144&sr=1-3 Will ship in replacement box (i ordered a clone off amazon)
TP LINK WIFI ADAPTER $10 or +shipping or free with order over $40 Was mine as well. Used it for 2 years before just using onboard cuz it was better Will cost a couple dollars at most to ship
HYPERX KEYCAPS $15 LOCAL OR +SHIPPING Buddy didnt tell me much about them Shouldnt cost more than $5 to ship, probably $3
LIAN LI O11 DYNAMIC MINI: $90 local (wouldnt make sense to ship) Open box condition Nothing more
CYBERPOWER PREBUILD CASE: Asking price $50 local (I'll look into more appropriate price later also does not make sense to ship) Buddy's case for his prebuilt that got torn down as seen above. Includes two intake and two exhaust fans
x3 Corsair iCUE SP120 RGB PRO Performance 120mm Fan $14 each local or +shipping Dunno if theyre the rgb ones or not. Can test on my pc if youre interested Should cost only a couple dollars for each to ship
Obo prices. Lowballers will be ignored. Local 93630 or 93636 (im in the middle). Not driving more than 10 mins for local orders under $30. One free item per buyer if applicable Comment before pm please

2023.06.06 21:45 Omnisiah_Priest ZS A4S v3 - my SFF journey in 6.2L case (with lot of photos)
| Introduction This post is a compilation of my previous three (actually more) Reddit posts - about 3070, 3080 and 4070 builds in the beautiful ZS-A4S v3 case. I have long wanted to summarize my experience in one text post - many do not read the comments under posts with photos, also, as I found out, my comments even can be hidden - but exactly there that I describe my builds in details. Here you will known how to create handmade dust protection, an airflow separator for sandwich-build, about the shortest air-cooled 3080, a fake MF-700F, two mistakes in the design of the Asus B760-I, and how to kill a lot of time working on one of the most compact builds. Due to the limit of 20 photos in one post, I had to add just a few photos here, the rest is uploaded to Imgur (many photos will be there with comments explaining their context), I will give links to the albums below. If you're planning to build in this case, I advice you read and view all of this. Links to the products that I used will be in my comment below (firs comment if you "sort by: old"), unless the Reddit hides it. https://preview.redd.it/ovm39kgm2g4b1.jpg?width=3264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1da7deb86bf7e7516e202e30c4fff6fe2f78cf36 Why ZS-A4S v3? When choosing an SFF case, in addition to size and hardware compatibility, I have such criteria as: - "design" - I love elegant minimalist cases GhostS1-style without unnecessary elements and pretentiousness; - "metal processing quality" - I want my case to look like it was carved from a single piece of aluminum (which is not possible with steel, your Captain Obviously), with no gaps / ill-fitting parts; - "dust protection capability" - I hate dust/hairs in the case; - "fans blowing upwards" - better cooling with this option; I had an Aklla A4 Pro for a long time that met these criteria, but over time it became too big for me (SFF-madness - is when your case seems bigger to you than it was six months ago and you need something SMALLER). I have been looking for a smaller case for a long time, but did not find something that I would like. I noticed ZS-A4S v3 a some time ago, but passed through by due to the Flex PSU and the inability to install my Gigabyte 3080 Turbo (as I thought at the time). I kept searching but finding nothing better, so decided to sacrifice my 3080 for the 3070 and as result was ordered this case. That's how its started. https://preview.redd.it/0vx22j4l2g4b1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c5c6b6f510089a698217493380edc3d32b759e77 Mesh vs Dust First of all, I want to talk about dust protection. In fact, it was done gradually. For example, in builds with 3070 and 3080, the bottom was completely closed, and only for build with 4070 I installed a mesh there - the bottom panel has a complex geometry and I decided not to cut the mesh there first. I used 60 mesh/inch thin steel mesh and strong double sided tape 3mm and 2mm wide and 0.5mm thick. Installing mesh on the side and bottom panels did not affect temperatures at all, only the mesh on the top panel increased the temperature of the video card by 1-2C, not more. With undervolting 1860/850 GPU heated up to 77C°/200W at 67% fan speed. Case fans are set at a constant 60% speed. Noise is acceptable, not noticeable when playing with headphones even at low headphone volume. A few days later, I realized where the main source of noise in the computer is the Noctua power supply fan. The fact is that the original fan has a much higher power, 0.2 amperes, and the power supply supplies power based on the factory settings. I added "Noctua low noise adapter na-cr10" to the fan - and the noise immediately became moderate. This GPU model was the only 3070 model that fit here. There was another model, but it had a worse cooling system design. The power supply I used was very handy, with very flexible silicone-sheathed modular cables. But later I showed a photo of disassembled it to knowledgeable people, and they told me that this is not a modified Enhance ENP-7660B, but something else, some lower quality model. I replaced it a month later with a original 7660B for the next build. In fact, at first my goal was 3090, also a turbo and also from Gigabyte, but even with undervolting down to 300W it overheats to 100C and was very noisy. With the 3080 I managed to create a build suitable for gaming, with an undervolt of 1740/775 and a memory overclock of +500, the GPU consumed 260W in average. I managed to almost not lose performance in comparison with the factory settings, somewhere I even got an increased fps due to a stable frequency and the removing the throttling. The GPU heats up to 81C by the core and up to 88C by the memory. 2750 rpm, 90% of the speed of this turbine is a significant noise to which is added also some turbulent noise due to the closely spaced side panel. Thats not a comfortable if you playing without headphones. But with headphones, even at a low volume level, the problem is solved - I not hear the fan at all. I ran into two issues with the Asus ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFi - the heatsink and shroud above the motherboard outputs had a protrusion of about 5mm and it couldn't fit into this case. I removed the heatsink and shroud and cut them off and then reinstalled them. Also the cooler backplate can only be mounted to this board by flipping it over and using the long screws from the kit. This increased the protrusion of the cooler backplate at the back of the motherboard, but in the end there was enough room for even that. The CPU in games heats up to no more than 60C even without additional power settings. I "undervolted" it by setting up "LLC level" to 1, which reduced power consumption and heating without loss of performance. The 13400 is an excellent processor for a computer of this size, there is nothing to say more. Noise: 30dB - idle 33dB - CPU load only 45dB - gaming load (hereinafter, the same phone was used to measure the noise, the measurement technique is the same everywhere - 70 cm from the case, with the microphone towards the case, the average noise level in 30 seconds) MORE PHOTOS HERE https://preview.redd.it/gdkvu8xa5g4b1.jpg?width=3264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=40ccdda03526831107460b13532223f54f011dda https://preview.redd.it/3n4ib8xa5g4b1.jpg?width=3264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=547747c5fbfa3c03a21fa946a11516682bff7077 https://preview.redd.it/s7a4p31m5g4b1.png?width=837&format=png&auto=webp&s=133b263ccda129f419118e6f0eae702d70aa7bb3 i5 13400 + RTX 4070 build: GPU - Palit RTX 4070 Dual OC CPU - Intel Core i5 13400 + Thermalright Contact Frame CPU Cooler - Thermalright AXP90 X47 Full + Thermalright TFX thermalpaste MB - Asus ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFi RAM - 2*16gb DDR5 Kingston Fury 5400mhz SSD - 2TB m.2 PCI-E 4.0 Kingston SNV2S/2000G HDD - 4TB Seagate BarraCuda 2.5" PSU - Enhance ENP 7660B + NF-A4x20 FLX fan When I finished my second build with 3080 in this case, I thought I would be using it for a long time. But here comes the 4070, which is 120W cooler than the 3080 for the same performance and has a DLSS 3.0 with Frame Generation, and there are several models that fit in my case... So I couldn't resist the temptation. When I first installed the graphics card, I realized that the blow-through heatsink was a very bad idea for such a small sandwich case, and I should not have covered the ventilation grill on the bottom, which I did back in the first build with the 3070. The graphics card heated everything else inside, and the power supply was especially bad. So, I bought an A4 folder with a plastic cover ~0.7mm thick and got to work. I made cutouts that repeat all the shapes from the side of the video card, made sure that it fits and installed the video card in place. Then, using double-sided tape, I installed the mesh on the bottom of the case (and regular tape to cover the edges), as I did before with all other panels that have ventilation perforations. Done? Not so easy! The fans of the video card touched the filter mesh on the side panel, the mesh did not let them work. In an attempt to fix this, I glued strips of soft material ~4mm thick around the fans on the video card shroud (this material sold as a "self-adhesive filter" in my country). The grid became less of an obstacle, but there was still the sound of the fans touching it. I had to remove the mesh from the panel and add a strip of 3mm double-sided tape (better to use 2mm!) every 4 rows of vents, then glue the mesh back in place. Finally it worked perfectly! The only negative after my dust protection is that the side panels only slide down. After installing soft adhesive tapes around the video card coolers - the panel on the side of the video card cannot be moved up and down, I put it on the side, slightly removing the front panel. It is enough to move it by 3mm, in fact, it is not difficult if you have mastered the assembly of such a case. 4070 Undervolting: Of course, I started undervolting almost immediately after buying the card. This 4070 behaves differently than any other 10/20/30 series cards. The best that I managed to achieve without losing performance is 2700MHz / 915mV. Power consumption in games after that averaged 165-175 watts instead of 195-200. Trying to achieve lower consumption by sacrificing 1-2% of performance (it worked before!) led to failure - at 2600MHz / 875mV I got a performance drop of 12%. In addition to the undervolt, I increased the memory frequency by +1000, up to 23000 MHz of the real effective frequency. This increased its throughput to 552.2Gb/s. Temperature: Results in RDR2 and Cyberpunk 2077 - on the pictures. The air heated by the GPU still affects the temperature of the CPU, but only by a couple of degrees. I was surprised by the low memory temperatures, which is 10 degrees cooler than the 3060 with the same power-consumption of 170W. You can get much less noise if you limit the fans to 50% of the speed. This will increase the temperature, but not critically. Noise: 25.5dB - idle 32.7dB - CPU load only 35.2dB - gaming load (80% case and PSU fans, 60% GPU fans) MORE PHOTOS HERE https://preview.redd.it/m38xpokp5g4b1.jpg?width=1836&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a31f99454a6dab3bf3c94608bcde0d3a70e264f0 https://preview.redd.it/wcvmnpkp5g4b1.jpg?width=3264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e3eecb46c3e8f8853a86f032e594541bb82053f Cyberpunk 2077 RDR2 Conclusion I worked on each build for several days, it was my longest work on a PC build, it was difficult, but I had a lot of enjoy by getting the finished build. The ZS A4S v3 - is the best case for dual slot dual fan GPUs with TDP less than 200W and CPUs with TDP less than 90W. I will definitely continue to use this case for a long time because I doubt I will find anything better in build quality and design (unless perhaps someone will make the same high-quality aluminum copy of Velka 5, or in the future powerful single-cooler GPUs will be released). I hope the RTX 5070 will fit here, which I will buy in 2.5 years :) submitted by Omnisiah_Priest to sffpc [link] [comments] |

2023.06.06 21:13 Ok-Drop-1049 Need help with a idea for a character whether I should put them back in or left them out?
So kinda need help with a character from my serious that I”m developing. They were originally going to be part of the main cast but then cut him out as he don’t work with the concert of the series. For a bit of context the series that I’m developing is a dark drama comedy animation series. Think ( hazbin hotel meets Bojack horseman and the good place ) the series follows the gang a group of 7 souls who are stuck in purgatory together after death and now have to deal with each other until they are redeemed and can go to the final stage of the afterlife. character is Kevin who was in the early drafts of the story when I was developed it.
For context of Kevin Kevin was the secondary main character next to Erika our main character. Kevin and Erika were childhood friends however at the start of the series Kevin and Erika were not on good terms at all as Erika in the early drafts was a sociopath a Character think Cartman from South Park mixed with Jade West from Victorious Erika in this draft basically cases the death of the two as Erika accidentally killed him then she out of guilt killed herself as Kevin was kinda her only friend and the one person she card for in her entire life in 1993 the year they bath died. Kevin was the opposite of Erika where Erika was selfish and a dick also a outcast Kevin was nice and pretty likable along with being the classic pop jock character his personality I can describe as Kyle from South Park mixed with Peter Parker his role in the series would have been the voice of reason or straight man of the gang ( ironic when I say this ) his relationship with Erika would have been a mix of Kyle and Cartman from South Park along with Mickey and Ian from shameless. However I always imagine them fixing their friendship and the two end up together. Yeah I have always ship this two together even now. Anyway the reason why I take him out was originally that the main characters were all from different Decades ( 1930-40s-60-70-80-90s ) at the time and I wanted to represent different Decades so I change him and replace him with a 50s greaser who play the same role and design I kinda bases off. Also a few other details such as the two both being Bi and having blonde hair.
Anyway I kinda want you hear your throughs as am not sure and I can’t get it off my mind.
Also one more thing I just wanted to mention is that Kevin is Bi while Erika was non-binary but she never realized it as it’s something she never would have heard of in life

2023.06.06 20:24 Then_Marionberry_259 JUN 06, 2023 IRV.CN IRVING RESOURCES RECEIVES HIGH-GRADE ASSAYS FROM OMUI, OMU PROJECT, HOKKAIDO, JAPAN
| https://preview.redd.it/i635qqp2xf4b1.png?width=3500&format=png&auto=webp&s=14a49ae17ac9fd6d9e606ef326419122860234b7 VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / June 6, 2023 / Irving Resources Inc. (CSE:IRV)(OTCQX:IRVRF) (" Irving" or the " Company") is pleased to announce high-grade assays from three drilled diamond drill holes recently completed at Omui, part of its 100% controlled Omu Au-Ag Vein Project, Hokkaido, Japan. New High-Grade Veins Encountered at Nanko: Hole 22OMI-003, drilled from north to south at an inclination of -60 degrees to test a deep-rooted vertical resistivity anomaly, encountered two high-grade veins. The first, 13.87 gpt Au and 121.74 gpt Ag (15.43 gpt Au Eq) over 1.67m, started at a downhole depth of 378.91m, and the second, 8.49 gpt Au and 270.00 gpt Ag (11.95 gpt Au Eq) over 0.57m started at 490.20m ( see table below for a complete summary of significant assays from the Winter 2022/2023 diamond drill campaign). These intercepts, the two deepest yet encountered at the Nanko target, clearly demonstrate that high-grade veins extend in excess of 400m providing very encouraging confirmation that Omui is a deep-rooted vein system. Estimated true width of these veins is estimated at 50-70% of down-hole width. Both veins display banded quartz with traces of ginguro, or silver sulphosalts. In 2020, similar banded veins were encountered much closer to surface in hole 20OMI-003 positioned above hole 22OMI-003. This included a 14.24m wide intercept grading 4.47 gpt Au Eq. The two new veins in 22OMI-003 do not appear to be connected to the much shallower vein in hole 20OMI-003, but may represent hanging wall splays off of this very large vein. More drilling is needed to evaluate this possibility. Deep Test at Honpi As a follow up test of the deep hydrothermal system discovered by drill hole 21OMI-002 completed in late 2021 at Honpi ( please refer to the Company's press release dated March 2, 2022), Irving drilled 23OMI-001, a south-oriented hole inclined at -75 degrees, to crosscut this older hole (Figure 1). As described in the Company's news release dated March 6, 2023, hole 23OMI-001 encountered silica sinter at about 120m followed by an extensive interval of quartz stockwork veining. The silica sinter interval persisted for 14.40m and grades 0.58 gpt Au and 15.85 gpt Ag (0.79 gpt Au Eq), very strong values for this type of material. Underneath the sinter, nearly 57m of stockwork quartz veining grading 0.65 gpt Au and 7.09 gpt Ag (0.74 gpt Au Eq) was encountered. Based on these results, the Company believes the position of 23OMI-001 is peripheral to the main feeder zone at Honpi. West Honpi Extension In order to test the depth extension of West Honpi, Irving drilled hole 23OMI-002, a north-oriented hole inclined at -50 degrees. West Honpi Extension was encountered at the top of hole 21OMI-002 which encountered 9.88 gpt Au Eq over 9.90m ( please refer to the Company's press release dated March 2, 2022) . Hole 23OMI-002 encountered West Honpi Extension approximately 70m vertically beneath surface. This intercept includes 5.80 gpt Au and 13.80 gpt Ag (5.98 gpt Au Eq) over 2.00m within 1.91 gpt Au and 13.89 gpt Ag (2.08 gpt Au Eq) over 10.00m. Given the high quartz content of this interval, it is believed to be suitable for smelter flux material. True width is estimated at about 60% of down hole width. Omu Sinter Drilling In March and April, 2023, Irving completed a series of nine diamond drill holes at Omu Sinter to evaluate the potential for a shallow, gold- and silver-bearing silica body suitable for smelter flux material. The target area is capable of hosting several million tonnes of such material. Assays from these holes are currently awaited. Hokuryu Drilling Resumes In mid-May, 2023, Irving commenced diamond drilling at the Hokuryu historic mine site. Two holes are planned for completion here over the coming few weeks. Both holes are designed to test deep-rooted vertical resistive features observed in CSAMT data. Previous drilling of such features has yielded discovery of multiple new veins at Hokuryu ( please refer to the Company's press release dated March 6, 2023). "We are happy to be back drilling steady at Omu," commented Dr. Quinton Hennigh, technical advisor and a director of Irving. "We are now on our 13th hole of 2023 and have many more planned through the end of the year. Our most recent assays from Nanko confirm the presence of deep-rooted high-grade veins here. While we have not yet hit the high-grade feeder underlying the Honpi area, we think we are vectoring in on it and have plans for further follow up drilling for later this year." All samples discussed in this news release are ½ split sawn diamond core samples. Irving submitted samples to ALS Global, Vancouver, Canada, for analysis. Au and Ag were analyzed by fire assay with AA finish. Overlimit samples were assayed by fire assay with gravimetric finish. Multielements were analyzed by mass spectrometry following four acid digestion. Irving routinely inserts standard and blank samples in assay batches submitted to the laboratory. Company staff are responsible for geologic logging and sampling of core. Au equivalent is calculated by adding Au (gpt) to Ag (gpt)/78. Results referred to in this news release are not necessarily representative of mineralization throughout Hokuryu. Most of the smaller items are Flexible and or I am willing to deal on if buying other stuff.
NPO AEG VSK 94 w 9a-91 kit Pics: https://imgur.com/a/fQKSUhB Sales overview: https://youtu.be/ypG28woLCXg New never fielded NPO AEG VSK94 all stock, Includes the gun, Upgraded lightweight suppressor, 4 additional midcap mags (for a total of 5), conversion parts if you wanted to convert it to the 9a-91 (grip, upper reciever w folding stock, outer barrel, inner barrel, and barrel nut if running it without supressor and original manuals and documentation. This is a beautiful odd gun that is absolutely built like a tank all steel receiver with a hard phosphate coat same as the real deal. the VSK94 historically is/was used by the spetsnaz, fsb count4er terrorism units and other russian special forces as a 9x39 subsonic DMR as a easier to manufacture alternative to the likes of VSS. The 9A-91 primarily has seen use with Russian police forces. It is used as a cheaper and more versatile alternative to the SR-3M Vikhr I did a video look at this gun in detail here: https://youtu.be/6Aop8yqT5Gc . Gun was shipped in parts from russia, so no original box, I assembled it and went over install and reviewed it as i went. I did also examine the gearbox as well while it was out of the gun. You can find a internal review here: https://youtu.be/7uyfZ__9r3Q Asking $875 Obo for everything SOLD
KWA RM4 ERG Magpul edition Pics:
https://imgur.com/a/q6SIBzQ Sales Overview:
https://youtu.be/7AS_XO12oX4 This gun is used I have fielded it a few times but pretty low milage (i tend to collect more than I play).
Package include, Gun, 1x 30 rnd mag w/cutoff, 6x K120c's with cutoff, Leapers red/green dot, magpul backup rear iron sight, and original spring/recoil weight.
Internally
- cleaned regreased re shimmed,
- AOE and airseal work
- new bearing piston head
- oring aluminum air snozzle
- High torque neo motor.
- basic mosfet install with self resetting fuse
- Prommy 6.03mm tightbore barrel
- the Ulysses recoil system for KWA ERG's (this is only available in Korea and took some doing to get here) this is adjustable system that lets you go from about a m90 to about m110 in power while safely increasing the felt recoil, I have heard others comment its close ish to 9mm in terms of recoil by far the most you will get out of a electronic recoil system but its still a little weird as it technically recoils forward.
This gun is a blast to use, but it really wasnt getting the feild time from me over my other replicas so decided to sell it. Its a great PTW or "realistic" training type of weapon due to functioning bolt cutoff and that all mags can be locked to a realistic 30 rounds if desired, disabling the trigger after the last round fired and requiring you to hit the bolt release after changing a mag before you can fire again (note its not a GBBR the bolt doesn't actually blow back)
Asking $550 OBO
Agency Arm G17 Fatal 13 Build pics: https://imgur.com/a/6P5y5ZM sales overview: https://youtu.be/VOopPJtGkiU This was a personal build fielded a few times, was really my fist deep dive into pistol building and stippling. Includes G17 With RMR 1x we short mag 2x WE extended mags Plano case (if you want it has custom cut lower section for this gun but will likely increase shipping costs) Box of spares/additional parts see video for full details but most of a we g18, two frames, nozzle rmr cutout plate. and agency arms Glock backplate
Build itselft is CNC aluminum G17/18 agency arms slide ported on the top. High pro sights, RMR replica (will include a new battery for it). Lightweight BBU, Guarder nozzle, Threaded aluminum outer barrel, stainless steel inner barrel lapped with a maple leaf bucking and ikey, increased dual recoil spring, Agency arms trigger, agency arms magwell. Custom frame work stippling done by your truly. Asking $355 obo SOLD

Golden Eagle GBBR NIB https://imgur.com/a/Eya0qn6 Selling this never been gassed or fired can be tested or chono'd on request. The GE GBBR system is a WA clone this means you can use WA upgrade parts (Which basically means GHK parts as they also run on the WA system). The receiver is Polymer but the hand guard and barrel are metal. The handguard is what they call the delta style which is sort of this interesting almost triangular shape see pics. From what I have heard these may not be the most amazing GBBR but are a fair base/entry into the GBBR world without breaking the bank with reasonable aftermarket part support.

2023.06.06 18:31 TNRod [H26- CBA] Sobre mi, la vida y los pros y contras de amar el cambio.
| Buenas! Lamentable no pudo darse. 2023.06.06 17:46 sadneighbor2 Kenmore 80 series gas dryer. GAS SMELL after replacing thermal fuse and solenoids.
Dryer wasn't creating heat, even after replacing thermal fuse. Could see that when I turned the dryer on, there would be no ignition. Read online to replace the solenoids. After doing that, success! However, after an initial stop, and all the subsequent tests after that, a nasty gas odor was emitting from the drum. Does this mean that the ignitor is bad too? Or is it something else?

2023.06.06 15:36 YaaliAnnar NoP: Lost and Found (58)
First Previous Memory Transcription Subject: Vichak, venlil school principal
Date [Standard Human Reckoning]: 2136-10-23
I told my vice principal that I didn't come to this predator planet for a vacation, so I need some knowledge or study results to bring home. Johan, my possible future brother-in-law, suggested that I could perhaps observe a human school. Keristian, the human coordinator for the refugee apartment, assured me that he had contacted an elementary school and came up with a schedule. For now, he told me to familiarize myself with the amenities in the apartment.
Besides their blocky design, human apartments had the same general functions as venlil ones. The staff provided us with a stepping stool to account for the larger dimension of the furniture, but other than that it has all that we needed.
Well... we could use a full-body dryer.
I found some alien features too in the apartment, such as the artificial pond, which humans use for recreation. They call this activity 'swimming', something that translates into "moving in water". Their First Contact package insisted that they came from arboreal lineage. Yet, their movements in water betrayed a hidden skill. After considering it, it made sense in a way. The water in their world is teeming with life, and they would benefit from aquatic hunting skills.
Adjacent to this 'swimming' pond, the apartment also had a gym. We have gyms back in the home world, but here on Earth, a wide range of humans frequented them, not just their armed forces personnel. They perform a variety of body movements such as lifting and putting things back down or running on a conveyor belt.
Does this dedication to simulated hardship serve as a means to channel their inherited predatory aggression? They didn't turn themselves from savage beasts into civilized people without some way to temper that excess.
We expected to meet a lot of gojids in the apartment, but it felt sparser than I had imagined. Keristian explained that the gojids here had entered into employment within the Capital. A large number had secured work on the farms. Some had brought seeds from their homeworld, which they planted back in the camp. After the human experts determined it safe enough for Earth, they transplanted the sprouts to one of the farms around the city.
I wondered if any venlil plant species had established themselves on this foreign soil. After Timür explained the concept of invasive species, I realized that I misinterpreted their cautious approach as predatory territorialism. On the other paw, the unspoiled wilderness that I witnessed on my journeys to and from the camp made me appreciate the inherent beauty of preserving such a wild landscape.
Some other gojids chose careers in logistics, serving the complex system that kept the goods in the region moving. Right now, humans directed most of their effort into alleviating the ruined cities. Some of the gojids had even volunteered to help the human, despite the presence of arxurs in the affected cities.
For our last meal of the day, we had gojid dishes made out of earth ingredients. I have to admit that I have not tried gojid cuisine before, but it grew on me just like human cuisine did.
The midday heat on Earth felt milder compared to the scorching intensity of a Deep Day in Venlil Prime's sunward section. Unlike our homeworld, where night temperatures could plummet beyond freezing, Earth's night felt comfortable.
I spent my first night on Earth sitting on the rooftop garden of the apartment. The blanket of darkness that stretched all around us sparked feelings of unease. However, the glimmering towers of the Capital provided a comforting backdrop, their lights twinkling like terrestrial stars. One of the staff members commented on how the city's light pollution obscured all but the brightest celestial bodies.
The staff member was a human after all and would do insane human things like complaining about their city not being dark enough.
Nevertheless, humans did appreciate the necessity of artificial lighting. As night fell, we could illuminate our room with the voice command, a comforting alternative to the deep night outside. I shuddered at the thought of enduring a night in such complete darkness.
Yesterday, I decided to explore the downtown capital to familiarize myself before I visited the school today. Mom insisted on tagging along and Keristian wanted Sukma, his aide, to guide us. We wanted a self-guided exploration, so as a compromise, the human equipped us with wrist-worn devices. These gadgets allowed him to track our whereabouts and also functioned as a means of payment. While the coordinator insisted we needn't worry about finances, he explained a rough price guide to prevent any possible exploitation.
Humans, in stark contrast to the lone arxurs, put heavy importance on socializing. While we waited in the station, the rhythmic cadence of Bahasa, their local language, filled the air. Thanks to Vani's provision of a language model, I could comprehend their dialogues, and snippets of human conversations drifted toward my ears.
"Do you see those domba?"
"Shhh... don't call them that. But yeah... I thought we had just one here?"
"Maybe Vani's relatives came to visit?"
However, even with the additional language model, my translator couldn't decipher all of their voices. Vani informed me that Bahasa serves as a trade language for the region and they had a plethora of other tongues that our translation device has yet to have the data for.
Once aboard the train, the humans adopted a collective silence. Being surrounded by humans aboard the train felt daunting, but this discomfort came from me standing out in this setting. I would feel the same on any other planet inhabited by a different species, carnivorous or not.
When we came to the downtown station, we plunged right away into an endless sea of humans.
Timür's unapologetic display of his face had acclimatized us to humans. We learned to perceive them not as threats but as just xenos with weird faces. It also helped that the humans in our vicinity maintained a respectful distance. However, they almost always locked their curious gaze onto us, averting their eyes when they figured out that I noticed them from my peripheral vision.
Distinguishing individual humans posed a challenge due to their similar appearance, but I soon learned to note the distinctive fabric of their clothing and the accessories they adorned.
The bustling capital of Nusantara presented us with new experiences and opportunities to learn about human culture. Mom and I took full advantage of our time there, immersing ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere provided by the city.
We first stopped at a local market, a bustling hive of activity that operated around the clock. Here, we observed humans haggling over the prices of fruits and vegetables, inspecting textiles, and purchasing a bewildering variety of cooked foods. The rich aroma of exotic spices and prepared meals filled the air.
We had a pleasant experience in the market until we stumbled onto the flesh section. Mom caused some embarrassing commotion when she vomited at the sight of the flesh.
So we decided to visit something less challenging and found ourselves going to museums and galleries. The tour guides in each institution we came to explained the history of this island while showing a collection of historical artifacts and artworks. It offered a captivating glimpse into the ancient human civilizations that once inhabited this region, and their struggles and triumphs.
We decided to have our last meal of the day in the city. With many of the buildings crammed in the city center, the place we had access to the open air lay at the top of the building. We watched the sun setting on the horizon.
As we ate through a platter of addictive fritters, Mom said that we venlil did construct similar dense settlements. Her explanation surprised me at first, as I almost forgot that Mom used to work as a civil engineer. She then explained that dense arrangements for habitats like this only made sense in colonies that lacked land or breathable air.
Humans seemed to have other motivations. They prefer gathering close to one another, creating bustling metropolises to allow for large swaths of untouched land for their wildlife.
So today, having learned to navigate the urban labyrinth of the Capital, I bid a temporary farewell to my mother at the outskirt station. Her exploration of this city would take her further out, where she would visit one of the human agricultural facilities. On the other paw, my destination lay at the heart of downtown.
Once I arrived at the downtown station, I switched on my visual overlay, allowing it to project directional instructions across my visual field. It painted a pathway to my destination through the tunnels and covered walkways. The direction landed me in one of the city's gargantuan towers.
The visual overlay translated the name of the school in venscript. Since humans write horizontally, the resulting translation turns a quarter circle. The sign above the entrance says:
"State Elementary School #1"
Number one? I suppose in a city this big, they did need more than one school. Under the sign, I spotted a human figure standing. She waved her arms and I could tell that she had waited for me. When I got closer, I made out the warm and inviting expression on her face
"Hi, I'm Andin, and you must be Principal Vichak?" Her voice sounded melodious and soft for a human. The human clasped her hands in front of her and bowed.
"Hi Principal Andin, nice to meet you," I replied to her with the same gesture. "I can't wait to see your school."
"Excellent! Follow me," she said. Her billowy one-piece dress twirled around her when she turned around.
Andin led me through the lobby and toward a balcony overseeing the heart of this educational facility, an internal atrium spanning three stories in height. The humans embedded the school inside one of their superstructure, and due to the lack of outdoor space, this architectural feature provided a simulated outside area where young humans could engage in physical activity and socialize. A synthetic material replicating grass covered the atrium's floor. Simulated sunlight streamed projected from the ceiling bathed the area in warm daylight.
An assortment of colorful play structures and exercise apparatuses dotted the periphery of the atrium. I presume they provided the students with ways to release those predator energies. Balconies jutted out from each floor, giving educators an overview of the bustling space and enabling effective supervision during playtime. The classrooms and learning spaces surrounded the atrium. As we walked past, I noticed that several of the glass panes had turned opaque.
"I read from the sign that this is an Elementary School. How old are your students?"
"Our elementary school caters to students from the first through fourth grades, so they are between six to ten years old. However, we sometimes admit older students. For instance, we have a few twelve-year-olds in the fourth grade."
Something felt a bit off from her answer. "What's next for them after this?" I probed.
"After completing their time here, students move on to four years of middle school, followed by another four years of high school. During high school, they can choose a specialization before they move on to university."
Her response left me flabbergasted. "Twelve years of education?" I said in disbelief. "It takes a full twelve years to complete education here?"
"Uh... yeah. That's pretty much the standard timeframe for education all over the planet. Just... how long does it take for you to finish your mandatory education?"
"Seven years," I responded. "By the age of thirteen, kids can start two years of vocational school and most venlils started working at fifteen."
Andin's eyes widened, "Wait, you have children working full-time at fifteen?"
"No, they're not children. They're adults." I realized that humans might have different lifespans. "What's... your age of majority here?"
"In this country, people can vote at the age of seventeen. But in our local culture adulthood starts at twenty." Andin explained.
"Alright, maybe we have a different lifespan?" Andin suggested, echoing my thought. "What's the typical lifespan of a venlil?"
"The average life expectancy hovers around ninety years, although many people live past one hundred," I explained. I wonder if perhaps humans live much longer? I didn't expect predators to live long, but humans tend to defy the norm.
"We had the same lifespan," Andin admitted.
"Wait... what?"
"Maybe we have a different education system?" She suggested again. Andin offered me her pad. "Feel free to observe any class that interests you. Here you can see the schedule for today." The contents had been translated into Ventongue. It presented a timeline of various subjects that took place throughout the day.
As my eyes skimmed over the list, one caught my attention. "Can you explain physical education?"
"In this class, we teach children how to exercise." she explained, "In fact, a PE class should begin now."
An adult human arrived on the field, followed by human children chattering and making all sorts of kid noises. They sounded just like venlil juveniles. At the command of the teacher, the students aligned themselves into a tidy grid pattern. A rhythmic melody started to play, filling the atrium with an energetic ambiance. The teacher at the front began to move in sync with the music, demonstrating a series of actions that the children mirrored.
"What are they doing?" I asked, intrigued.
"They're warming up to prepare for the activity ahead."
They performed various movements, the fluidity and synchronization of which appeared almost like a dance to my venlil eyes.
Once the 'warm up' concluded, several large, blocky objects rolled into the atrium. With a series of arm gestures from the teacher, these objects positioned themselves around the area. Some expanded to form rudimentary structures complete with roofs, transforming the atrium into some sort of tiny city.
The children gathered in a circle. Following a brief, excited chatter, they each presented a hand, some with palms facing upward, others showing the backs of their hands. According to some unspoken rule, those showing the backs of their hands stepped back, causing the circle to contract. This ritual continued and I figured out that the group with the most members excused themselves until one kid remained.
"Ah, it seems they're playing 'Hide and Seek' today," Andin commented, watching the unfolding scene with a warm smile.
"Hide and Seek? What's that?"
"One child plays as the 'cat' while the others will play as the 'mice'," she explained, her expression turning somewhat hesitant. "Ah... perhaps this wasn't the most appropriate activity for you to observe."
My translator didn't quite capture the nuances of 'cat' and 'mice', but I gathered they referred to Earth animals. The child designated as the 'cat' stood in the center of the atrium, standing near a pole with their eyes covered, while the 'mice' scattered, seeking shelter behind the fabricated structures and blocks.
The 'cat' began a loud countdown. Upon reaching zero, they removed palms hands from their eyes and commenced their search. A realization struck me as the 'cat' started prowling around.
"This... is," I murmured, taken aback by the implication of the game. "You're simulating a hunt."
From time to time, the humans can't help but remind me that despite their friendliness and civility, they had a history as predators.
"Well... yeah, when you put it like that…" she paused. "But, the children didn't see it as a hunting simulation. I mean… I doubt that none of them will become a hunter when they reach adulthood. Most of us nowadays don't hunt."
"I understand." I looked down and the cat had found a mouse, chaos ensued as the two of them rushed to the pole. The mouse touched the pole first and laughed. "You humans do need an outlet for your aggression to maintain a civil society."
"What? No…" Said Andin. "We have Physical Education to encourage a habit of fitness."
"So, you don't feel the urge to get violent, sometimes?"
"Most of us don't. Those with that kind of urge receive treatments so they don't harm themselves or other people."
I looked down at the human children below. Despite their concerning activity, they looked like they enjoyed it.
"But if this display makes you uncomfortable, we can see other classes."
I looked at the pad, where another class intrigued me.
"You have an art class? In elementary school?"
"Yeah, it encourages creativity… you don't have art classes?"
"No, those with the aptitude will go to art colleges after they graduate from school."
"Oh…" She gave me a look that I think signifies pity? "Are there other things you don't see in Venlil school?"
"The English class seems interesting. I noticed that most of your people can speak in English when needed."
"Heh, that one is contentious." She chuckled. "English is waning now, and people proposed that we teach our kids Chinese, Hindi, or Swahili for the foreign language class. I take it… you don't have a foreign language class?"
"We do, but… like art school, you learn it at the university level, usually as part of a Foreign Relation Studies. Because foreign languages are spoken by other species."
"Interesting." Again, she gave me that concerned look. "So, do you want to see the art class or the language class?"
"Art class. I think."
"Sure, let's go," Andin said, guiding me down the stairs toward the art classroom.
Upon entering the room, chaos greeted us. An eclectic array of children's artwork adorned the walls, showcasing vibrant landscapes, portraits, abstract shapes, and depictions of what I assumed were various earth creatures.
"Ah, Principal Andin," the art teacher greeted us with an inviting smile as we entered. "And we have Principal Vichak as well!"
"Meet Harta, our art teacher," Andin introduced me.
The moment we entered the room, a sea of young faces turned towards us. It felt like a forest of eyes scrutinizing us.
"Children, say hello to our visitor today, Principal Vichak."
"Good morning, Principal Vichak!" They speak in harmony. The children then refocused on their tasks, their hands returning to their brushes and colored pencils.
Some students here worked alone, while others collaborated in small groups. In one corner, I spotted a screen displaying 3D artwork, sculptures made from what looked like recycled materials, clay, and even intricate artwork made of folded paper.
"Today we have a free-form class," Harta explained. "With your visit, I asked them to make something about our two species."
Several children gathered around a large screen at one end of the room, using it to sketch out their designs before replicating them on canvas. They drew scenes of humans and venlils with a level of technical skill and creativity that amazed me, considering the young age of these kids. In one section, busy children molded a piece of clay, their tiny hands trying to create something that looked like a venlil.
"But how do you evaluate their work?" I asked, confused. "And for that matter, how do you grade students in the Physical Education class?"
"In this school system, we don't include art and physical education to determine if a student has what it takes to continue to the next grade," Andin clarified.
"We do give individual feedback to each child," Harta chimed in. "We aim to ensure their personal growth and development, not just their academic achievement."
"Indeed," Andin asserted, her voice reflecting a sense of profound conviction. "The role of the school has evolved over time. These days, we don't work just as a hub for academic instruction, but as a second home where children learn essential life skills. We work hand-in-hand with parents to nurture these young minds, helping them develop into thoughtful and responsible individuals."
This notion brought back memories of my own school back on our homeworld. People would often refer to our school as a "nursery" due to our additional class on socializing and communication. I remember Renata, the human psychologist stationed in our homeland, said that my school had the basis of a well-rounded education. Here I learned just how more "rounded" we need to be.
Throughout the day, we ventured into different classrooms, each offering a snapshot of the subjects covered in human elementary education. The STEM classes felt lackluster by my standards. However, I soon appreciated their teaching approach which encouraged students to arrive at their conclusions.
On the other hand, the social studies and citizenship curriculum appeared more intricate, which made sense, given the complex social structures of the human race, a species as varied and divided as the primitive yotuls.
Midday brought a meal break, during which I had the chance to mingle with some of the other faculty members. I learned that a significant portion of the adults currently abstained from food and drink, on account of what they called the "fasting month". Andin observed the fast as well, but she kept me company in the cafeteria despite her abstinence from eating.
"Are you sure it's alright for me to eat while you're fasting?" I asked, somewhat.
"Of course," she assured me, her face warmed by a gracious smile. "Self-restraint is a fundamental aspect of being human."
Self-restraint, a quality I found woven into the fabric of human nature. Despite the invasion hurling their world into chaos, humans displayed remarkable restraint, refraining from lashing out in anger.
Post-meal, our educational exploration resumed. The sheer number of classes devoted to non-academic skills struck me. For instance, they had a class dedicated to environmental education, where they instructed young learners on how to care for their planet. Another class, called Health and Wellness, focused on areas such as hygiene, nutrition, safety, emotional well-being, and mental health. My visit coincided with a session of "meditation", a peculiar human practice to calm themselves. When I observed the children sitting in tranquil silence with eyes closed and serene music enveloping the room, I realized that they do have a method of quelling aggression, by nurturing a peaceful disposition.
The complexities of human pedagogical methods began to dawn upon me. The length of their educational journey lasted longer than ours because of this multifaceted curriculum. They didn't focus just on the injection of academic knowledge, but they also introduced human development in theirs. Even their academic lessons went beyond feeding students with facts and figures. Instead, they encouraged a more gradual learning pace that fostered independent thinking.
Such an extensive approach to education daunted me. Could we even implement such a model in our venlil school? Considerable obstacles lay on our path, given the expectations of parents and our society at large, who were accustomed to a quicker, more streamlined education.
In any case, my day reached its conclusion, and my time to depart came. When I bid her farewell, Principal Andin provided me with a binder filled with artwork created by the students, along with personal messages for me and the students back at my own school.
I had time to reflect and consider as I walked toward the downtown station. I recalled how Andin and Harta viewed the institution not as a place of learning, but as a secondary caregiver, working hand-in-hand with parents to nurture the holistic development of their young ones.
On my way to the station, my mother called. She informed me she would be coming downtown so we could share a last meal of the day together.
"How did the farm tour go, mama?" I queried, eager to hear about her day.
"It was enlightening," she replied, leaving me curious about her experience. "And what about your day?"
"Oh, mama," I began, a sense of excitement rising in my voice, "I had an extraordinary day."
Afterwords: Humans with their 22nd century education.
Somehow this is the longest chapter I have ever written. Also note on my update schedule. I'm posting update on every date divisible by 3. That means some updates can appear 96 hours later when the last post is on 30th and the month ends in 31st,

2023.06.06 13:39 Regular-Talk692 I am engaged in scientific activity. I describe rocks of granodiorite; Shchigrovsky massif, Voronezh anteclise, East European platform. (Stage of magmatism - Karelian)
| Tasks: describe the mineralogy, petrography and geochemistry, identify the conditions for the formation The Shchigrovsky massif belongs to the Stoilo-Nikolaevsky intrusive complex, located in the northwestern part of the Tim-Yastrebovsky Paleoproterozoic rift structure of the VKM. The Shchigrovsky massif cuts through the rocks of the Kursk and Oskol series, in the area of contact between them. This is the only intrusion of the stall-Nikolaev complex, which has a strongly elongated shape. In the form of a narrow (2-3 km) strip, it stretches in a southeast direction for 23 km. Scheme of structural zoning of the Precambrian foundation of the VCM The area of the massif is 57 km2, the massif was studied by five boreholes - in the southern part 3041, 3046, in the central and northern parts 4080, 4090, 4093. The dip angles of the contacts are steep and amount to 75-80°. Contact changes in host rocks are manifested in skarning and marbling of carbonate rocks, hornification of terrigenous and effusive rocks. Skarning is especially characteristic of northeastern contacts. The skarns are dominated by garnet, pyroxene-garnet varieties. Schematic geological map of the Tim-Yastrebovskaya structure Granodiorites studied in boreholes 3041, 3046 are pinkish-gray and light gray in color, medium-grained, sometimes porphyritic. The texture of granodiorites is massive, the structure is hypidiomorphic-granular, porphyritic, due to the presence of large microcline grains up to 1.5 cm across. The rocks are composed of plagioclase, microcline, quartz, biotite, and hornblende up to 5%. Accessory minerals are represented by apatite, sphene, ilmenite, magnetite, sulfides, zircon, secondary minerals are epidote, carbonate, chlorite. Chlorite develops after biotite and hornblende, sericite after feldspars. Myrmectite intergrowths of microcline and plagioclase are noted https://preview.redd.it/yqsdpxsesd4b1.png?width=750&format=png&auto=webp&s=064644fc107fd72a06728d3b0ee763127b9179a4 In granodiorites, plagioclase is present in an amount of 45 to 55 wt. % and is represented by euhedral and tabular grains 0.5–3.0 mm in size. In composition, it corresponds to oliogoclase and has a pronounced zoning from Ab 76-78 in the central parts to Ab 84-87 in the marginal ones. Biotite is present in the form of laths 0.1–0.8 mm in size in an amount of 10–15 wt. %. Biotite laths are pleochroic from dark brown-green to pinkish-brown and may contain inclusions of apatite, titanite, and epidote. By composition, biotite is medium-magnesian (XMg=0.518-0.572), aluminous (Al2O3 = 14.32-15.68 wt. %) with TiO2 contents = 1.38-2.73 wt. %. Microcline in the amount of 10-15 wt. % occurs both in the form of small lattice grains in the groundmass and in the form of large porphyry segregations (from 2–5 mm to 1 cm). Large grains of the microcline contain inclusions of biotite, plagioclase, and quartz. In terms of composition, it is almost pure potassium feldspar with an insignificant admixture of albite (<15%) component. Quartz forms xenomorphic, less often isometric grains (0.2-2.0 mm in size) and is present in the rock in an amount of up to 15 wt. %. https://preview.redd.it/bhw113qpvd4b1.jpg?width=655&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58f48b40d1d9d335b45f891473f08116cdd4f5ce https://preview.redd.it/3zmcjo2pvd4b1.jpg?width=596&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=54f94e7ba4f45528e0829d44b8714591302366ae https://preview.redd.it/je4qiplovd4b1.jpg?width=612&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=030324d5b8605a01573db2b5648f69a2b3074ca0 https://preview.redd.it/8dp7jfvnvd4b1.jpg?width=758&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b09b4aa2023a229aff891f360489f0907d69fa7c https://preview.redd.it/9qdo299mvd4b1.jpg?width=710&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f62e2ce5e082320ff10607b826b2d857e3f608ee https://preview.redd.it/87wxavjlvd4b1.jpg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18386f7c7152925fcbf721234de0039b83a93d2f https://preview.redd.it/ih0d1p4lvd4b1.jpg?width=299&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=59ad65dc5fd8a270d0831b925245abd629587fc8 https://preview.redd.it/p4psr0pkvd4b1.jpg?width=682&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d83484ab15692acd5ea0ae1b25dd4a40e835b500 https://preview.redd.it/ahfh0r6kvd4b1.jpg?width=748&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=14e3cac39c55a139b82636cb755ced9350578b6b https://preview.redd.it/2vdj3fkjvd4b1.jpg?width=614&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=832551aa59dee8e91cec4aa597243871dfe81cdb https://preview.redd.it/pc6n2s1jvd4b1.jpg?width=561&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad2dc3faa23a6f623c1bb3ece5e12d5c61dc38e6 The most common accessory mineral is titanite, which forms rather large - up to 0.5 mm in size, dark brown, brown diamond-shaped grains. Granodiorites of the Shchigrovsky massif contain 64.4-69.7 wt. % SiO2 and have high values of the amount of alkalis (K2O + Na2O = 5.2-7.9, cf. 7.1 wt.%), but mainly with a predominance of sodium over potassium (K2O/Na2O = 0.72-1, 47, cf. 0.88). The values (A/CNK ≈ 1) in granodiorites are at the boundary of fields of meta- and peraluminous rocks. They have a wide range of iron content c (XFe = 0.43–0.70), elevated contents of femic oxides (MgO+Fe2O3 >5 wt %), titanium (TiO2 = 0.44–0.60 wt %) and calcium (CaO = 2.9-3.8 wt %). On the classification diagrams, the granitodiorites of the Shchigrovsky massif fall into the fields of ferruginous and magnesian rocks of the calc-alkaline series. In the diagram, the compositions of the rocks of the Shchigrovsky massif fall on the boundary between the fields of granodiorites and quartz monzonites geochemistry The composition of granodiorites of the Shchigrovsky massif on the Na2O+K2O - SiO2 classification diagram In the distribution of rare elements, low contents of Cr (6-18 ppm) and Ni (8-19 ppm), high lithophilic Sr (592-691 ppm), Ba (1300 ppm), and moderate and low highly charged Zr (150-224 ppm ), Nb (7-11 ppm), Y (7-11 ppm) with high SY = 54-96. Granodiorites are characterized by low concentrations of rare earth elements (ΣREE = 189-244 ppm) with a sharp enrichment in LREE [(La/Yb) n = 40–61] and their strong fractionation [(La/Sm)n = 5.1–6.4] . HREE are also fractionated, although less than LREE [(Gd/Yb) n = 3.8-4.6]. Eu anomaly is absent. Distribution of rare earth elements Normalized to chondrite /Distribution of small and rare elements Normalized to primitive mantle Thus, the granodiorites of the Shchigrovsky massif are distinguished by the predominance of sodium in the total amount of alkalis, the depletion of Y, and, accordingly, the higher values of the SY ratio, as well as the stronger REE fractionation. submitted by Regular-Talk692 to u/Regular-Talk692 [link] [comments] |

2023.06.06 10:14 IfIHadANickle4UsAll In the past year, I've unwillingly released nearly 30 animals into the wild.
TLDR; - Traveled 800 miles to visit dying elderly relatives that had rampant feral cat breeding problem in their home. They struggled getting resources due to cat and bed bug infestations. No rescues would take the feral cats as they are feral indoooutdoor cats. Social services are moving relatives into a facility now.
Over Memorial Day weekend, I experienced a situation involving nearly 20-30 cats - and now, I am a firm believer that releasing them into the wild is a better option and/or plan than nothing at all.
Let's journey back in time to 2020, when my elderly great Aunt Beatrice and Uncle Jack (names changed of course) welcomed a female cat into their home who showed up on their doorstep hungry and meowing away. They live in a somewhat rural area of a small city (20k people) in the midwest about 150 miles from Chicago metro. Unbeknownst to them, the cat was pregnant and, within a matter of days, gave birth to 4 kittens.
Uncle Jack is extremely allergic to cats and the dander from the fur causes him to develop severe rashes throughout his body. Aunt Beatrice did everything she could to find the kittens new homes, but ultimately could not part with two of them, keeping a total of 3 cats in the home. Then, the mother cat escaped beyond one of them when they opened the door to get the mail, only to return about 6 months later (2021) -- pregnant.
This time, the mother cat gave birth to a whole new litter of 4 kittens, making a total of 7 cats in the home. Aunt Beatrice again got to work trying to find a way to adopt out the kittens, but during the pandemic, shelters and resources were maxed out as people were returning their pandemic pets for the sake of living or work obligations. She was only able to adopt out 1 kitten, keeping 6 cats in the home. And this time, Aunt Beatrice managed to get the mother cat spayed at the local vet, but couldn't afford any other spay/neuter care for the other 5 cats.
Thinking that the rest of the cats would never leave their home -- one of the female kittens escaped into the wild, returning months later pregnant with her first litter of 4 kittens. Now, they had 10 cats in the home, and it was becoming more challenging caring for them. The original female cat was officially a grandmother. Uncle Jack began suffering from very serious allergies and feeling sick/ill more frequently. Again, all of the local rescues, humane societies, and even animal control turned them down when they called for help.
Within a matter of a month or so, the daughter of the grandmother cat escaped again, returning to give birth to another set of kittens. She did this another THREE times in 2022 alone. By the end of 2022, they had nearly 16 cats and/or kittens in their home. Christmas 2022, I came to visit them and stayed with them for a week. I called EVERYWHERE within the tri-county area and even out of state to get help for these cats, and everyone was unable to help.
Aunt Beatrice was covered in cat scratches and bites, complaining that they jump and run across her in the middle of the night. Uncle Jack had very serious rashes, and to make matters worse, developed liver failure and had now begun end-of-life care with hospice. Aunt Beatrice wanted to keep them all, Uncle Jack wanted to be rid of them. Family and friends alike advised to kill them ourselves or "wait it out". One family friend offered to feed the cats to their pet snake.
Out of time and out of options, I waited for a warm winter's day, a series of days where the weather was 50-60 degrees. My partner and I drove around for hours, searching for rural area with lots of barns or a small village of houses away from major roads. There, I released 3 cats into the wild. And into the woods they ran. It was all we could grab/find in the house, the rest were scattered and so hard to catch. I, too, was out of time. We returned home and scheduled our return visit for the spring.
In that six months, only two more sets of litters were born -- or so we thought. Aunt Beatrice donated them to the church clergyman who showed up to pray for her at the house. A few of the teenage Jehovah Witnesses took 3 of the kittens. Others ran away and/or escaped from the open door during mail time, never to be seen again. Anyone she could pawn them off onto was welcome to have as many as they could take.
In recent weeks, we came back to visit and help declutter their home. Things are worse than ever before. The smell was immediately sickening. Adult protective services made it clear that the cats had to go. Animal control refused to come pick them up, "We don't even come out for cats anymore," they said. Everyone is booked and full to the brim, resources maxed out. Local vets charge $500 to do a spay or neuter, or wait more than a month to get on the list for the humane society or the spay express at $150/cat. It's a lot of money that we don't have to spend on more than 20+ cats.
We found between 12-16 cats/kittens and two of them were no longer alive on the enclosed back porch, which was so heartbreaking to find. So, with the sun high in the sky and winter long gone, we began the venture of releasing the cats into the wild yet again. We released 7 cats in the first few days, all of which were never friendly or touched by a human. Cats are very intelligent and are rather illusive to catch and/or trap. One of the last ones caught kept hiding under the kitchen sink, but we released her.
The next morning, we found 4 more newborn kittens trapped under a drawer in the kitchen. We think they belonged to the cat that would return to that cabinet often... the one we had already released. We struggled so much with trying to feed the kittens, they just wouldn't take the kitten formula. In a 100 mile radius, we called every. single. rescue. Everyone was full.
We don't have the financial means to pay for vet costs, and they are hefty. My great aunt and uncle couldn't afford it either. We were preparing to watch these kittens pass away from starvation as our every effort failed, and we were completely lost. FINALLY, nearly TWO DAYS after we had already released the mother cat, we found a rescue about 120 miles away that could take all of the kittens - just the kittens. And so, we traveled across state-lines and delivered them into the hands of people who could help, thanking them immensely for their care.
Lastly, we tried again for help with the remaining 5 cats to no avail. No one had room or returned our calls. We released the last 4 cats into remote areas or very small rural towns, off main roads. We released the cats in sets of 2-4 each time so they wouldn't be alone or could hunt/survive together. At least they may have a shot at finding a forever home on a farm than they would being starved to death on a hot enclosed porch or worse.
Uncle Jack has been doing much better without the cats. He's been having much better days. We feel confident the worst of his illness and symptoms came from his high allergy to the cats. The cleanup continues, though. The oldest cat - the one who started this all 3 years ago - ran away during the process. Maybe she might return, maybe not. Who knows. At least she was spayed.
You know, even Chicago intentionally released feral cats onto their streets just for the sake of getting rid of rodent infestation. Cats are accustomed to wild. So, I'd like to think that they are taking care of any mouse problems in the small towns they now reside in. And hopefully, someone may have found themselves an outdoor pet or domesticated one of them.
Do I have any regrets? No, I don't think so. If ever anyone else finds themselves in a situation where they have cats they can't care for and no where to turn, I may advocate for releasing to the wild... albeit maybe spaying or neutering first, if possible.
If you ever found yourself in this situation, I completely understand why you released it into the wild instead of intentionally having it euthanized or turned into food for something else. No judgment whatsoever. It is what it is.
Nearly everyone online will tell you to wait it out for help. I'm here to say that in the worst of situations, sometimes, help never arrives. Sometimes, you have to save yourself... or the ones you love. And that's okay.
If you were me, what could you have done differently?
UPDATE -- So a few things to be clarified here:
- I do not live with these relatives. They live alone. The rest of the family moved away over the past 30 years (including me) as the town has very little work beyond medical careers. They have been abandoned by the family. Maybe the cat fermentation has been keeping them going, I don't know.
- Cats are all outdooferal cats that come in/out of the house with no restrictions, not touched by relatives. They literally only play with or pet the first cat. The others are all non-human friendly, and bite or attack people. The county animal control and the humane society refused several of them AT THE DOOR.
- NONE of the rescues would take ANYTHING but baby kittens because they are considered "feral". None of them. They are all feral/wild and not people-friendly. The two that got trapped on the back porch by the hospice nurse? They didn't even know they were on the back porch. Otherwise, they would have been outside, too.
- The closest vet clinic does actually cost $500. They charge office visit costs, costs for anesthesia, pain medications, use of tools, etc. Seriously, I saw the bill for the first cat and got quotes from them for bringing in 5 cats the first time. They wanted nearly $2,500. That's more than they make on SS in a month. I don't have that kind of money.
- I called at least 70 different phone numbers to find a place for those kittens. Most went to voicemails. A lot of rescues only work via email. I had dying/starving kittens that I could not figure out how to properly feed. I called everyone on Google Maps across more than 150 miles. Literally had to travel 120 miles to the place that finally did take them. And to make matters worse, this was during Memorial Day weekend. Everyone was closed.
- They were all released in areas that were about 40-50 miles away from their house, but there's always a possibility they will return as they probably know their way home as they have been indoooutdoor cats their entire lives. It won't matter though because they are being moved to a nursing facility this month, but still. I'm not sure what else I could have done.

2023.06.06 09:02 kozyrozy Paladins and Panzers Round 2: Emissary A1 by Secret Service Arsenal
| The National Pinnitsurgan Motor Show '90 was drawing to an end. However, remaining visitors with due discernment could notice small groups of people in civilian clothes. These people now and then were coming into one of the backstage rooms. What happened in this hall, however, was none of the curious inhabitant’s business. Inside, on the ramp that served as a stage, there was something hidden by a dense cloud of fog. Next to the cloud, with a hand behind her back, stood a half-elf, whose strict costume was offset by a funny-looking witch hat. Around the improvised stage, rows of chairs were arranged in a semicircle. In this improvised amphitheater among people in civilian clothes there were personalities in military uniforms. “I think the it was worth the effort,” thought the half-elf, clicking her knuckles on her prosthetic bone hand. “If this babies will be approved by the Pinnitsurgan Military, even in the small series, this promises me a promotion. Plus, they'll look damn good on the battlefield." With these thoughts in mind, she walked over to the microphone, made a couple of testing clicks, and spoke. [PITCH STARTS HERE] Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! I, Lady Alca Holowitz, have an honor to welcome you on this presentation. We at the Secret Service Arsenal have heard your call, and are ready to submit our version of a light ... reconnaissance vehicle to the competition. Without further ado, let's get down to business! https://preview.redd.it/lq3o93suhc4b1.jpg?width=1314&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69ca52e1fcd78bfd2081d1cfae8e9b70cc18d2f5 A snap of the fingers dispersed the cloud of smoke, revealing the silhouette of the sport car to the public. However, a cannon was sticking out of the frontal window, and the car itself was clad in armor. Anticipating surprised sighs and dissatisfied whispers, Alca took the floor again This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Emissary A1, our latest creation. SSA decided to base this vehicle on something really fast - after all, we're talking about a reconnaissance vehicle, right? The choice fell on the Wyvern Super Sport, the staff car of the Pinnitsurgan Secret Service. This car has a brilliant acceleration and is able to withstand some firearms bullets. Of course the increased armor and an hecking infantry gun inside slowed down the car a little, but nevertheless, it is still able to surprise you. https://preview.redd.it/yu56lofyhc4b1.jpg?width=1601&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=21cc7039a33dd3c77510ab9073718f9cd713cd20 Leaning freely on the body of the machine, she continued The Emissary A1 is capable of hitting 42 miles per hour on asphalted roads. On rough terrain, her cruising speed is about 35 miles per hour. This could be achieved thanks to the Drachnifel V8 M89 engine, a rear-mounted 8-speed transmission and an alloy frame. Moreover, the form-factor of a civil vehicle, which might have embarrassed you at first, gives Emissary an unexpected edge. Take a look at this projection: An image appeared on a cloud of smoke that materialized next to the witch https://preview.redd.it/hixxp8kaic4b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ea4f8df6e76c98f45064f53bec6c27a676aebb1 This image was taken from a staff broomed scout unit “W1-CH”. What do you see on it? Ignoring the markings, I see four civilian vehicles heading down the road. Based on the Wyvern car the A1 is similar in appearance to Wyvern vehicle tree such as the Super Sport, Continental and Phantom I and II. With some simple decorations Emissary can be disguised as another civilian car or truck. This is achieved due to ability to fold the barrel of a gun inside the vehicle. https://preview.redd.it/h3b7vujqic4b1.jpg?width=1068&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=59582b01dc444f3a1dd7194bb9bb428941cd344f Alca disperses the cloud with another click, walks around the car and pats it on the body This bad girl can fit 3 crewmates inside, plus 600 liters of fuel, 3 in ToM104 field gun and 60 shells to shoot. The crew is placed as follows: commander and driver-radioman are located in the driver’s and passenger’s seats similar to that of Wyvern Super Sport. The gun operator is located in the middle of an elongated hull. The crew have a viewports at frontal part of vehicle, however, for reconnaissance, commander can use a special periscope on the roof. In the frontal niches of the car there is a complete set of spare wheels and crew belongings. Waving her hand, the witch began to walk around the vehicle Naturally, in comparison with civilian version, the protection had to be strengthened. In the frontal projection, it is 70 mm on average, the engine compartment is protected by 17 mm armor plates, the crew compartment is upholstered with 8 mm of steel. However! ~ https://preview.redd.it/sinigtoyic4b1.jpg?width=1458&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=768bfa955acb3100b8c003f5cbc804abb9d1b62e Alca quickly jumped onto the roof and continued the story from there ~ to enhance protection of the Emissary A1 can carry a full set of armor screens on her back! Click, Clack, help the lady take these things off and put them back in place! Two of the skeletons, that had been standing silently aside, approached the vehicle and began to dismantle the set of riveted steel plates attached to the back of the car. After 5 minutes of work, Emissary appeared in his full armor https://preview.redd.it/ttzxuqz2jc4b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e11ed388104ff24a6d921f9ae44b128843ffc1b9 Of course, this makes the car a little heavier, so I do not recommend carrying these pieces of iron with you on a daily basis. Speaking of pieces of iron! Let's take a look at the gun while I’ll explain our choice of it. Alca sat on the edge of the engine compartment, hugging the field gun’s barrel https://preview.redd.it/yl2fmxb6jc4b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=557a89fbb64e24e5449caafa79a9a6a776633e4e The 76 mm gun was not chosen by chance. We all know that multitasking is important for a reconnaissance vehicle. Also, armored vehicles are not the Emissary's main target. At the same time, ToM104 can use an extremely wide range of ammunition: from the usual AP and HEAT shells, ending with gas flasks, fire bombs, magic missiles and some exotics like portable teleportation circles. https://preview.redd.it/wfkod8a9jc4b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0ba415933db0eebd6ff6c4bae40c56b19a51d66 Now that I've talked about the actual technical specifications, it's time to talk about the magic. We at SSA believe that the machine should be as reliable as possible Magic, on the other hand, is a chaotic thing. So, the only magical thing in A1, besides projectiles, is it’s paint. This black camouflage not only colors her in a sexy tone but also contains Dwimeryth particles. Dwimeryth crystals are oriented in such a way to resist and disperse both concentrated and fielded magic applied on a vehicle from the outside. At the same time, the crew of the vehicle can freely cast spells, and for this purpose we are ready to provide witch corps as commanders of these vehicles. In addition, V8 engine and un-tracked wheels were chosen to increase the reliability of the car. This concludes our presentation. We will provide you with additional photos of the machine and technical specifications. We hope SSA was able to interest you in this offer, and we shall make a deal in the future. https://preview.redd.it/7t1c7xhdjc4b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b285da46cfcd479c42d7117430b69193dd7a19f6 https://preview.redd.it/g0tbpb5fjc4b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a22ab3e4ae14ce75eb07f7b7c7fc902761755569 https://preview.redd.it/v5d2smggjc4b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0fce1e1eee5a8dd0732be7156f61594bfc8587f3 [PITCH ENDS HERE] The moon shone brightly, turning the dew-covered grass and trees into a fabulous fairy forest. Alca, accompanied by her undead bodyguards, walked to her personal Wyvern Super Sport 300. Having already hide her skeletons in a car's closet and opening the door, she froze for a moment. A smirk crossed her face. She laughed loudly and sincerely. That was a good day submitted by kozyrozy to SprocketTankDesign [link] [comments] |

2023.06.06 08:15 saltypeanut54 Tisas 1911A1 Service Special
I ordered a Tisas 1911A1 Service Special from Bud’s Guns. I have several other 1911s, from Springfield, Colt, and mil-surplus, and have build two on Caspian frames, and rebuilt several. I have gone completely through this pistol, and will be as objective as possible.
This is a full size 1911 with a 5 inch barrel. The pistol has a cerakote or similar finish. I wonder if it is applied electrostatically, as their are no brush or spray strokes. The finish is consistent throughout the pistol, and even the barrel and interior are finished with the same attention to detail. It is a fine looking pistol. The cosmetics are equal to any other maker’s finish, for this type of finish, which is a surface coating.
The radius of the slide top and ball cuts is perfect. I am sure that this is a CNC gun, milled from forging. There are no sharp edges on the end of the slide or frame, yet the bevel cuts are very discrete, almost non-discernible. The machining has a light “soft” appearance, which is very understated but makes the pistol more comfortable to hold.
The ejection port is slightly lower than GI and has a bevel. The ejector is slightly extended. I have not shot this pistol yet, but these should help ejection. The feed ramp is bare metal, and the barrel breach is beveled and sits back from the ramp an appropriate distance.
The sights are very similar to the form of sights on a Springfield Mil-Spec (Defender) or a Colt Series 80. They are solid black, without dots. They are sturdier and more pronounced than GI sights. This is what makes this model different from the GI pistol. They look very serviceable and durable. I do not plan to change them out.
The pistol has a rowel hammer, rather than a spur hammer. The rowel is higher on the hammer than a Colt Commander hammer, and the top of the grip safety is rounded down a little. This is so the rowel does not strike the grip safety spur when the slide recoils. The grip safety is not a “commander” hammer safety with the cutout, but resembles the GI grip safety This works, though I have never seen it before. I have no plans to change the hammer or grip safety.
The slide release is the standard 1911 slide release. I have replaced it with the Ed Brown slide release, simply because I like the flat shelf of the EB piece. The thumb safety is a standard Colt Series 70 style, a little beefier.There is over-travel downward on the thumb safety. No practical effect, but I will replace it with an Ed Brown “carry” extended safety.
The slide-frame fit has some horizontal and vertical play. I removed most of the verticals play by changing the bushing to a stainless one - a little tighter - from the parts box. (Helps in cleaning anyway.) The barrel hood has a tiny bit of vertical play. This is less than my Springfield GI clone, and less than one of my Colts. It is less than most entry level pistols, but there is some play in the frame-barrel slide fit. But very little, and the fit is much better than I have found on more expensive guns. There are no marks on the slide from rubbing against the dust cover, due to a slight bevel on the slide below the ball cuts. Some people feel that a less than tight fit is best on a 1911. All I know is that this amount of play will not effect practical accuracy.
The trigger is a short GI trigger. There is a bit of travel against the leaf spring, but the sear and trigger engagement is fairly crisp. I am guessing about 4 lb trigger. I may replace it with a Harrison Design mid-length trigger. That is what I have on my other 1911’s. But I want to shoot this for a while before changing the trigger.
The cycling springs are definitely full power. I am guessing about a 22 lb main spring and 16 on recoil spring. The thumb safety spring seems stiff enough, but the safety seems a mushy. I think it is the angle of the safety against the spring. I am replacing the thumb safety anyway, so not worried. The magazine release has a strong spring.
It has a flat mainspring housing. The sides sit a little proud of the frame and the grip safety, but that is normal for an entry level 1911 - it makes drop-in parts easier to use. I may file the edges to soften the feel. I put a checkered MSH in my friend’s service model and it was a perfect fit, flush with the sides of the frame.
The pistol accepts magazines other than those that came with the gun.
The grips are imitation GI grips of brown plastic. There is also a black set in the case. Both sets have fairly weak checkering - much less aggressive than the brown GI grips. They really should have done a better job on the grips. I replaced the grips with a set of $8.00 GI grips off of eBay which feel much better. Those are in the picture. The factory grips are not worth saving.
The fitting of the grip safety is poor. The frame is prouder than the grip safety when the grip safety is fully depressed. This was the case on my friend’s service model Tisas as well. I swapped my friend’s factory grip safety for a parkerized NOS GI Colt grip safety, which corrected the problem for his pistol. A GI safety did clear the rowel hammer, but did was below the edge of the frame cut when depressed, in this pistol. I VERY LIGHTLY filed the edge of the frame where the grip safety sits until the inside walls of the frame were below the level of the grip safety when fully depressed. I touched it up with cold blue, and I can live with it. A little holster wear and I won’t notice it. This defect is common on entry level guns. It bugs me, and I do not know why manufacturers do not correct it at the prototype level. Also, the gap between the grip safety and extension of the frame where is thumb safety sits is cosmetically unacceptable. Oh, and the grip safety rattles in the frame…. The short answer, they REALLY need to fix the fit of the grip safety to the frame to get 10/10. I think these errors are more than cosmetic, and should have been caught at the prototype phase. If it was a $1200 pistol I would send it back.
Summary. This a a fine pistol for $329.00. It would also be a fine pistol at $629.00. It has similar quality control as a Springfield Mil-Spec. I have not shot it. But there is nothing in the pistol that indicates that it will be less accurate than a comparable entry level Springfield. There are some things I will correct in the fitting of the thumb safety. The only major issue is that the grip safety is poorly fit to the frame in both samples of Tisas pistols, though this does not affect mechanical function. I really have no other complaints. I would recommend this model for a first 1911.

2023.06.06 07:59 Count_On_Me_Bro How to read several variables from multiple netCDF files of NOAA-NSIDC Passive Microwave Sea Ice Concentration to plot a time series?
Hi there, I have around 530 netCDF files in a directory, which is essentially monthly data on sea ice ranging from November-1978 to December-2022. I want to plot a time series plot where the y-axis will be cdr_seaice_conc_monthly values of a particular latitude and longitude and the x-axis will be the time. Therefore, I decided to read time,xgrid, ygrid, cdr_seaice_conc_monthly variables from all the neCDF files using the following code:
import os
import xarray as xr
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt
directory = r'E:\Southern Hemisphere'
file_names = [os.path.join(directory, file) for file in os.listdir(directory) if file.endswith('.nc')]
variables = ['time', 'xgrid', 'ygrid', 'cdr_seaice_conc_monthly']
data_arrays = []
for file_name in file_names:
dataset = xr.open_dataset(file_name)
for variable in variables:
data_array = dataset[variable]
data_arrays.append(data_array)
dataset.close()
combined_data = xr.concat(data_arrays, dim='time')
latitude = -70
longitude = -90
data_at_location = combined_data.sel(xgrid=longitude, ygrid=latitude, method='nearest')
seaice_conc = data_at_location['cdr_seaice_conc_mont
time = data_at_location['time']
plt.plot(time, seaice_conc)
plt.xlabel('Time')
plt.ylabel('Sea Ice Concentration')
plt.title('Time Series of Sea Ice Concentration')
plt.show()
However, I end up with the ValueError: time already exists as a coordinate or variable name. I believe I am unable to read the files even before reaching the plotting part. Here is the full traceback:

2023.06.06 07:55 Parsnip Diamantenhände 💎👐 German market is open 🇩🇪
Guten Morgen to this global band of Apes! 👋🦍
As we start another week in the GME Saga, I'm still incredibly excited by what we're seeing. Volume has jumped a bit, as has volatility. 'Glitches' like we saw yesterday are on the increase. Last week's daily charts shows wild up and down swings and looks very different than most recent charts. All of this is a signal to me that the SHFs have increased their activity, likely because they fear what is happening.
It seems obvious to me that the SHFs are in a desperate place right now, but are still unable to suppress the price.
Meanwhile, we are just days from the earnings release and upcoming annual meeting. Now is truly a great time to have your name on your shares on the books at ComputerShare!
I'd also like to give early notice that I intend to 'go dark' starting on June 12th in solidarity with the protest movement against Reddit's planned changes. I believe that the open platform that Reddit has been is an enormous part of what has made it special, and that this change is a shift in the wrong direction. Please do not take this as my abandonment of this movement. I believe that protesting against such policy changes is the only possible way to prevent them, and personally intend to abstain from Reddit during this time. As such, it seems appropriate for me to pause Diamantenhände as well. I hope that Reddit reverses their planned policy changes and that I will be back on June 15th in time for the Annual Meeting of Shareholders.
Today is Tuesday, June 6th, and you know what that means! Join other apes around the world to watch infrequent updates from the German markets!
