2023.05.28 17:30 swingon_bi Looking for Guests & Experts for New Podcast about Bisexuality in the ENM Community

PrePS: I had this post up for less than an hour then deleted it because the first comments I got were "poly isn't swinger" and "polyamorous people don't use the term 'lifestyle'"...
So I deleted my post because it made me sad that the first comments weren't ones of encouragement but rather ones of admonishment.
But you know what??? I belong here dammit. I identify as both swinger and poly. I started out as a swinger and so yes, I use a lot of "swinger" vernacular. The podcast is called "Swing On Bi" because it's cute and catchy and the domain was available.
I know I'm not the only one who's somewhere between swinger and poly -- I have other friends who are. So if you can identify yourself in the mission my podcast is working towards and want to create more conversation that unites us instead of divides us then I'd love to have you as a guest if not, that's ok too but know that we swingepoly ..."swolly' people DO EXIST and DO belong here too!
Hi All,
I'm using my podcast specific Reddit account for this but you can find the majority of my activity under u/PartnersInAllThings
I’m launching a new podcast called “Swing On Bi” super soon!
It’s going to be conversations about bisexuality in life and the lifestyle.
The goal of the podcast is to be a place for education and community and to destigmatize bisexual men in the lifestyle and defetishize bisexual women in the lifestyle.
I’m looking for 3 kinds of people to join me as guests on the podcast…
1- a recurring male guest host…must identify as male and bisexual and be in the world of ENM in some way.
Must be able and willing to record at least 1x per month and maybe help out with writing a blog post 1x per month.
2- experts - I’m looking for experts on the Kinsey Scale, Bisexuality, ENM, and anything else you can think of that would fit under our topic umbrella.
3- Guests- I want to interview people and share your stories. Especially interested in those who want to participate on a panel discussion, talk about coming out late in life, have a story about being outted, want to share what it was like to have both the ENM and the “I’m bisexual” conversation with a partner, etc.
You CAN remain anonymous on the podcast. (I’ll be going by a pseudonym) and you must be willing to sign an NDA as I want all guests to feel safe and free to share honestly.
Please feel free to DM me if you're interested or comment below with questions.
Hope to hear from LOTS of you!!! :)

2023.05.28 17:30 morganzy98 Is it worth switching to AM5 or generally upgrading to next gen parts at this point in time to futue proof my PC experience?

Having some PC crisis's at the moment, has me putting together a potential build that i may need in the future so im not completely PC-less and can go about doing the usual bits (Games, work, education etc.)
On B450F AM4, 16gb DDR4, 1TB HDD and 256gb SSD. My pro-spots right now are my RTX 3060 and R75800x, and my SSD. I plan on keeping the CPU and SSD, but the GPU seems to be faulting on me and crashing most days, with the window of crashes getting shorter and shorter.
My thoughts are that over the new few months, i basically completely restrict my usual buying options and just go about upgrading everything to AM5 and all. Including new case with higher height (I have a Noctua NH-D12L that is practically molesting the tempered glass slide panel of my case), DDR5 but unsure if 16gb or 32gb, B650 mobo of some kind, but looking at the cheapest right now, 1tb SSD M.2 drive with an additional 1tb SSD standard, a better PSU (Currently have CV650W, could get away with it but its 3 years old and i want to future prood / issue proof as best i can so maybe a 850W+?) and a 4070.
Im basically settled on the 4070 being my next purchase in the next few months given my failing GPU. But either i settle on that, or i invest the next 6-12 months into purchasing all the other bits. However, im not knowledgable enough to know if theres no need or if its a good idea etc. I just want to basically protect myself and get a solid PC to last the next several years. I've always been a EOL purchaser, buying parts either mid life cycle or towards the end where the next gen has settled in and become the dominant purchase choice. Its never broken the bank for me and ive not had to rigorously budget for it before, but embarking on this would change that for a while (I also live in the UK, where you currently need to take out a mortgage just to afford pasta) but im thinking it would potentially be worth it so i don't have to bother with new parts for ages and have relative safety without parts getting old bit by bit and cascading until i replace one bit at a time.

2023.05.28 17:29 ShinobinX Spawning in the forest while minimap says im in mid of a town (BedFord / Ravencreek)

i have been playing around quite some time with my ingame "Host"-server for my friends and me. Using quite an amount of mods, but everything most likely is working as it should.
Yesterday i created "BedFord Falls" and i feel like im at the point where i am irritated about this whole Map-Mods, Maps and Spawn function. I simply do not really understand how it really works. Sometimes everything is fine, BedFord Falls were working.
Last time, the server crashed on Ravencreek (cant create spawn). Next try was BedFord Falls (using BedFord Falls as Spawn) and i was spawned randomly in the forest, mini map told me im on street near a warehouse. Wtf? I let all the spawns at 0,0,0 - i dont get it. The only difference is, that i use authenticZ and use the "AZspawn;Muldragh, KY" as map setting. I dont even really understand this whole system. I cant even tell if this is causing it, or if moving AZSpawn bot or top can change something.
The other normal - included - maps work normally for us. I really hope someone has a tip for me or maybe there is a even a map/mod/spawn video. I didnt really find something that is helping me understand.

2023.05.28 17:29 Necessary-Job-4281 Ground floor these days?

Longtime lurker. I have dreamt of living in this neighborhood for years and finally have the chance. I found a unit in a two-floor family house I really like near 30th Ave on one of the side-streets close to Steinway, but it is on the first floor (elevated a few steps above street level, and the landlord’s son lives in the basement). However, I am concerned about mice / rats and safety just based on the fact that it is the first floor. None of the houses on the block have barred windows. Could anyone please advise? Thanks so much :)

2023.05.28 17:28 bitesandbruises 34 [M4F] Maryland DC DMV MD VA - Looking for an ambitious, educated, nerdy lady for LTR!

About me:
I'm 34, 5'10, average build (turned into skinny build and now it's slowly becoming fit build), olive skin, hairy chest, bearded (sometimes longer, sometimes clean shaven, currently - trimmed), glasses, nerdy, and in my own opinion, quite cute and attractive!
Careeeducation wise - I'm educated - I have an undergrad and a graduate degree. I just got an offer to work at a big company and am really excited about it! I've also started my own little companies in the past, just some small ideas I try to work on and develop in my spare time. I can go on and on about career and my ventures into entrepreneurship, and will gladly talk at length about them if this stuff interests you! Have you ever started something/wanted to start something? Tell me about it!
Outside of work and entrepreneurship, I am a big media buff. Movies, music, video games, tv shows, books, I'll consume any media that's good. Being a big nerd, I tend to lean towards fantasy, and sci fi over most other genres, but I seriously love anything good (rom coms are my guilty pleasure). Currently watching: caught up with Succession just in time for the finale, and watching some new release movies on my list (Shazam 2, Antman 3, Sisu, The Whale, etc.). Currently reading: just finished Tress and The Emerald Sea! It was sooo good, I really enjoyed it. Currently playing: Some League of Legends, some Magic the Gathering Arena, I picked up the new Zelda game but haven't started it yet.
I build my own computers, I'm a big tech nerd, I'm into high fashion, cooking, exercise, hiking, I enjoy travelling, but I am definitely on the introverted side, and as much as going out on the town sounds nice, I usually prefer a quiet night in as I'm a homebody. I just finished a remodel too and my place is almoooooost all done. I am still missing a main fridge for now haha.
Though I describe myself as an introvert and homebody, I do love to go out and do things, they're just my second choice to staying home and chilling with warm drink (or chilled whisky), soft music, and a fire in the hearth. I can be happy in most any setting from a black tie event to just talk a walk in a park or something, though for more formal events I do prefer a big heads up.
Sexually, I'm into lots and can be quite kinky, but my kinks generally mirror my partner's. If it's something you're genuinely into, I'll be into it as well, no matter how tame or extreme it may seem. My only limits are permanent damage and other partners. I mention this early on because, while I think it's important to build up trust and comfort with someone before really diving into this topic, it's also important to me so I don't want to waste anyone's time if this is an incompatibility off the bat. So, since this is pretty important to me, I would like any future partners to either be fairly kinky, eagerly curious, or pretty experimental in the bedroom. We don't have to talk about details until we're both comfortable, but knowing very, very roughly where you fall is important to know.
I believe being open minded, both sexually and not, is an amazing quality, so I try to always be open minded and try most anything - food, sex, random experiences - at least twice before writing it off.
What I'm looking:
You know that question dating apps ask where it has you ask a friend to describe yourself? Well a friend and I once swapped descriptions for each other, and I have to say, his for me is spot on:
"Goal oriented and driven. Endearingly snobby. Board room outside - game hall inside."
It is me really close to a T. A good time to probably mention I am pretty bougie and snobby about things I enjoy/care about, but that's just me really. I like things to be the best they can, and I strive for the absolute best things and experiences in life. It's all about how I like to experience life, and I don't really care or shame others about how they want to live their life or experience things.
To that end, I've had a hard time finding a well educated woman, who is fun and easy going, leaning more towards type A, and also enjoys the finer things in life and seeks that sort of lifestyle. I've definitely lived very low in my life, and a few times very high, but usually my experiences are solidly in the middle. I am personally pushing myself for more, and to live a bigger life, and I want a partner that is very ambitious and wants those goals for herself (and her future partner) as well. Being a nerd isn't required but a huge bonus.
Side note, I'm always baffled to hear about really high achieving women that have a hard time dating because of insecurities of other guys, or some weird attempt to hold on to really outdated social norms. Those women sound so dreamy to someone like me!
I'm looking for something serious, and long term, though I don't like to put tons of pressure on things and enjoy a natural progression, so I prefer to move at a pace we're both comfortable with (however fast or slow that may be) - I really just want to get to know each other. That being said, if I'm into someone, I love to chat with them (I'm a big texter), and really just enjoy as much of their company as I can get.
The reason I'm posting to reddit is that, it's been very hard to find the kind of woman I think I can truly build something serious and long lasting with. I've been dating here and there over the past couple of years, and have yet to encounter someone who is good for me, and I, good for her.
In terms of distance, I prefer someone near me or someone already moving nearby (Washington, DC area), within a few months.
I'd love to say more, but this is already long enough! This should give you an idea of the kind of guy I am and what I'm looking for. I think about things a lot, I put a lot of effort into my work, my leisures, and my relationships. So, want to be part of a type A power couple in the streets, bites and bruises in the sheets with me?
Happy to chat on most any platform you prefer! Though I have a preference for discord. Thanks for reading this all, it means a lot! I hope to hear from you~~

2023.05.28 17:27 Gojjar Reposting: Most Possible Cure/Remedy for CFS - 99.99% Sure

TL;DR : in this post i am telling about a natural herbal mixture powder, which i found during a bus journey in Pakistan. Just a small pinch of it made me feel fantastic for 2 days. I am abroad now, but will return soon home, and will find that herbal practice store, which i have a rough idea about its location.
I am 37y male, PhD. Scientific researh is my profession. Currently almost 3 years into CFS, and since last 1 year i think it has become severe. 1st year i didn't even know the name of my problem. Then, in 2nd year i started to look for it and soon realized i am a CFS patient. My baseline has gradually dropped from normal working person to just 1 hour or even less now. All this drop in baseline is maybe because I can't afford to quit. I have to keep going and see what happens. I have family, beautiful daughters, so i have to keep working for them. I am from Pakistan, but work abroad as a researcher. I have given above preamble just to let you know that i know what i am talking about. Now before disclosing the cure/treatment/remedy, i want to tell you that i have done many possible things like improving diet, being less anxious, supplementing etc. But CFS stayed with me. It was like "whatever had caused this illness, it might be no more there, but the consequences (CFS) is going to stay". Now, by end of 2nd year into this, when my CFS was turning into severe from moderate/mild, i was at home in Pakistan. I was preparing to move into another couuntry for my new job. For this i had to go to that country's embassy in another city about 400 km from my home city. I travelled whole night on bus, arrived there at bus station by dawn, spent 3-4 hours wandering here and there and taking teas from different resturants, just to kill time before the start of office time. At 8:30 am i left for embassy. I was done from there by noon. Left for bus station, i hopped on a bus back to my city. Now the bus i hopped on was kind of a passenger bus (you don't have to book in advance). It makes frequent stops along the way, and in it you will see many people who get on and off the bus to sell stuff. By the mid way, a person got on the bus, and was looking very active, fresh, healthy with bright white red face. He introduced himself to be affiliated with a Herbal Practice Center (Hikmat) in a nearby city to mine. Such people are common to be seen on buses selling their CHORAN (herbal powder). I usually don't buy from them, but i just wanted to listen him to feel a company. The things he described that: if you have this and this then try this Medicine, caught me by surprise. Because most of those things were typical CFS symptoms inside me. It is unusual for such a person to talk about such symptoms, they usually sell stuff related to stomach problems etc. I was amazed by the confidence he was talking with. But, i still didn't believe him and didn't buy anything from him. What he did before getting off the bus, he gave out a small pinch of medicine sample to many people near the bus exit gate, In Free. I was there too. Now, i didn't want to throw it away because it was after all some kind of herbal food stuff, and it is not good to throw away such thing. As i raised my hand towards my mouth to put that powder in my mouth, there was strong air coming in from the open windows on bus. Some of that powder went into my eyes and some into my mouth, and it was already a small bit. Anyways, i reached a city stop and took another bus to my city for final stretch of journey. In the start, the bus was packed with passengers, it was summer season. About when 1 hour jouney was left, i started to feel mentally calm, most of the passengers were gone by now. I started to feel quite fresh and active. It caught me by surprise that though i didnt sleep last night and was traveling and now the whole day i was awake and doing work and travelling and the next night has come over, but here i am feeling quite fresh. I thought that maybe my home is reaching close thats why i am feeling good. OK. I reached home, took a shower ate dinner and got to the bed for sleep, but yet i was feeling quite good. The next day i woke up, did all the morning routine, breakfast, toilet etc. and then went to my friend's shop, where i spend most of my time when i am at home. When i was sitting at shop i noticed that contrary to usual i was feeling quite good and active. I did not feel any pain or tiredness from the last whole day and night journey. This was strange, but i thought that this good time will be over shortly because even a CFS patient can feel sometimes a few hours quality time. Whole day passed quite good and i slept at night again very well. The next whole day was also similarly quite good. Thats how i lived like two whole days consecutively like a normal active fresh person. On third day, i started to feel again the fatigue and tiredness. But, what i have been through just now, i coudn't forget, neither i ignored it. What was it? How is it even possible that I who was at the verge of severe CFS, can feel so better for so long (2 days are quite long for a CFS patient). Anyways, the only thing i could single out was that small pinch of herbal medicine i took during journey. I am like 99.99% sure that it was because of that powder i ingested. But, my visa was granted and i had to depart soon abroad for work. Though, i did not find any chance to find that herbal medicine center, but somehow by chance, an approximate location of that store was still in my memory which that salesperson mentioned during the journey. Now, after arriving here abroad, i feel so sorry that i should have digged out that Herbal Practice center, because CFS is taking a lot of toll on my life, and i can't imagine continuing this way. Now, i am almost 1 year in this country, and soon going to home after few weeks. Now, the first and main goal of my life is to find that herbal center as soon as possible and get that powder for me. I am sure it will be the cure/treatment for my illness . I will keep you guys informed about it after testing that herbal medicine for 1-2 weeks. Hopefully, it will be the end of CFS for me. If it works on me, and am quite sure it will, then i will write here again, and if any one of you want it i will arrange it for you. Hopefully, you will also find your old yourself again. Regards. *** Once i am sure it works as i am hopeful, i may share my whatsapp etc so if any one of you may want to contact for the CHORAN. *** Secondly, if you are doubting that how am i coping with my job with CFS, then i can let you know that in my job i have to get the work done, time and presence at work at all time is not a critical requirement. *** my mail is geniousgujjar(at) I may not be able to respond in these days because i am finishing my work contract. But, i will reply as soon as possible, and definitely if that CHORAN works on me.

2023.05.28 17:27 Indelwe Buyer/trader beware - Side A on the 20th anniversary El Cielo vinyl has a defect.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this yet, but there is clearly a pressing defect on side A of this record, likely due to a misalignment. The tonearm oscillates during playback and causes noticeable pitch shifting. Multiple other users on Discogs have reported this, so I know it's not just me.
The records themselves are beautiful, as is the packaging. It's a damn near perfect reissue if not for this problem on side A. No other playback issues to report - it does sound very clean otherwise, no distortion, sibilance, surface noise, etc.
I'm still happy to finally have it, but just wanted to let you other fans know what to expect if you are still waiting for your copy.

FS: Non-Navigation HVAC Conversion Kit PN #88650-60772
I purchased a non-navigation HVAC controls conversion kit from Redditor ZIRCONPRO this past November but ended up selling my GX and no longer need this.
Part number 88650-60772, fits 08/2005-12/2005 build dates only. Includes the control unit, custom wiring harness and 2 brackets. Note that there is a protective film on the LCD display in this photo, it can be removed and the screen is perfect underneath.
I can provide a video from the original seller to verify the control unit functions properly. I never installed, only took the parts out of the box to inspect them.
Asking $650 (what I paid for it) plus $20 shipping anywhere in the continental U.S. I will ship to Alaska, Hawaii and Canada but we would need to work out the shipping cost.
Please DM me if interested. Thanks!

2023.05.28 17:26 BeetleG000se Sudden numbness

So I’ve been skating moxi jack 2s (edit) for a few months and I thought I’d more or less broken them in. I put in r-fit insoles and swapped to waxed laces, which has made the fit feel even more secure and allowed me to lace my skates better. However now it feels like I’m fully breaking them in again and I think I wasn’t tying my skates NEARLY tight enough before. So, I guess my question is—will suddenly tying my skates tightly enough make me re break them into the corresponding fit and movements or will they stay broken in to how they were tied before? Bc my toes felt numb the first time I skated this slightly updated set up.

2023.05.28 17:25 che85mor Yesterday I went off roading and did every possible thing wrong that I could. Today I'm paying the price.

Yesterday I went off roading and did every possible thing wrong that I could. Today I'm paying the price.
This weekend my wife and son are visiting family in another state. I didn't go for various reasons and thus was left unsupervised. I decided to take the Jeep out for a ride and grab some lunch. So I take off in comfortable clothing, flip flops, and my phone.
After eating lunch I thought I'd go check out this trail I'd been seeing since we moved here. So off I went without any further thought except for my gas. I had a quarter tank though, and this place was only four miles from my house and it's basically just a field, no big deal.
So I'm romping around this field and I see a ditch cross the trail. No big deal, it's shallow so I get a little dirty and this is when all caution goes out the window. I go through the field a little more, come to another ditch and, besides it looking like the last ditch I got stuck in, I ignore my instinct to reverse and find another way. Then I get stuck.
No big deal, I have a winch it's gotten me out of this shit before. So I hop out, sink to my knees in sticky Kentucky clay and break the strap on my right flop. I dig it out of the mud, tie the straps in a knot and look for my winch cable. It's not where I keep it. It's in the back. The back is full of cases of product for my job. They have been in there for months because I haven't needed to get to them and the tailgate won't open for whatever reason, so I haven't emptied it from the front. So I'm screwed about the cable, no winch. Look around, no rocks, no logs and I have no other recovery gear. And I'm alone. And because my tank was low and the rig is tilted forward, no fuel is getting pumped and I essentially run out of gas.
So I call a tow truck. These yahoo's send a Ford F150 with chain. No way he's yanking me from the front so we go the other way to get behind me because he isn't crossing that ditch either. So we start out and about a quarter mile in, he gets stuck. Like stuck stuck on flat ground. He calls for backup and another pickup shows up and he gets stuck too because "his 4wd doesn't work". So truck three comes and he won't even venture into the field. Old guy, and he's pissy. Starts bad mouthing off roaders and the risks we take. Fair enough. Bitching about them being unprepared. I can relate. Then says "this is dumbest goddamn thing he's ever seen any one do and that I might be the stupidest adult he's ever met". I tell him I'm not paying him for his commentary and if he could kindly shut his mouth and do his job I'd appreciate it. We jaw back and forth, shit gets heated and it dawns on me were in the middle of nowhere and it's my unprepared ass against three friends. I thank the first driver, and realize the second driver managed to free himself and he just bounced and tell the third driver that I no longer needed his services, but his buddy does, and I start hoofing it home. Fuck it, I'll go back tomorrow and work on it I figure.
So I'm four miles from home, on a gravel road that's at least a mile long, am diabetic, and walking damn near barefoot because now both of my flops are broken and I had to rig them to kind of stay on my feet but I have to shuffle to keep them under my feet. About every two or three steps this fails and I come down on the rocks barefooted. No water, phone is at 14% now. So I call the only taxi I know. They're permanently closed due to lack of business. Great. So I call the local police. Tell them everything and end with being diabetic and walking barefoot and ask if there's anyone not busy that might be able to get me home. Nope. Too much of a liability, but feel free to call back if I experience medical distress. Wtf. I moved here recently and only know three people that I'd be OK with calling and begging for help. My mailman, but he's been drinking, this girl I talk to when I go into the ups store, but she's out of town, and my weed plug, but he's in Colorado... I wonder why?
The deputy calls me back and gives me a number to a private "taxi" who thankfully comes and rescues my ass and takes me home. Today I can barely walk. The bottoms of my feet are so bruised I thought they were still dirty. My legs are sore from the exertion. And my jeep is still stuck.
So take aways for rookies or those that think it won't happen to them. Full tank of gas. Even if you don't get stuck, you gotta get out. Recovery gear. Don't think you have what you need, know you have what you need. Then need a few other pieces and know they are with you too. Proper clothing. If you're not prepared to go offroad, don't go offroad. A friend. You never know what might happen and not having someone with you could be a life ending decision. If my sugar had tanked while I was in the field I would have been fucked. I had nothing to take care of myself with and that is not the circumstance you want to find yourself in in a medical emergency. Trust your gut. I knew I shouldn't have tried it. I've tried it before on other similar ditches and ended up winching out. But that I got out with minor inconvenience led me to think I'm very bad ass. And I, apparently, am just very "send it" orientated. That's bad. Use caution.
If you read this far, thank you. I hope my experience can help others think twice.

2023.05.28 17:25 DestroyerOvNarcs Vitiligo - get rid of those spots, carry on with life

Hi all, I've had Vitligo since I was 6 years old. I'm going to condense some wisdom down into an easy to read post so you can just get on with your life. I've spent most of my life researching vitiligo because mine was really noticeable, and I've functionally conquered at times in my life only to have it re-emerge and have to find some other way to handle it. I believe I've now come to the ultimate knowledge and can help others. And I put the knowledge out free because no doctor should be able to make a living charging people in a compromised position to not even fully heal most of them.
This is going to be a post with a lot of Truth in it. If you can't handle it, please keep scrolling. The Truth is of immense value to people because it will help them deal with the real situation and not a fuzzy, make believe world that they don't actually belong to, and then can't understand when things just aren't working out.
1) Vitiligo puts you in a compromised position in a lot of cases because it reduces your value in society. It is considered a flaw and therefore you will have a hard time in dating and sometimes jobs, friendships etc depending on what the vitiligo looks like and it's severity. Some people get lucky but for the most part, people with vitiligo get shunned because people have the instinct to not be around those that show signs of a disease. Although vitiligo isn't a contagious disease, it looks like one. In addition, the shapes it makes on the skin can be scary such as looking like a "skull face" on top of a real face, etc so kids can start crying etc if they see someone who looks like that, no matter how nice they are. It's a real mindfuck for the person who has it. It goes without saying that it's a barrier to dating as well.
2) Doctors are making a ton of money researching vitiligo but notice how they don't just simply put an end to the vitiligo. Why would they when their whole career is based off of it? If people just got rid of it and got on with their lives, that income source would end. So you go to the doctor and are mindfucked AGAIN when you are filled with hope that a treatment might work, and it never, never does. I've tried PUVA, topical steroids (a disaster, they made me get spider veins on my ankles worsening my situation), Eximer laser (did fill in one of the areas but then created dark spots as well), and a melanocyte transplant that failed and also created a new spot on my outer thigh from the "doner" area. Looking to Doctors to provide relief has been a fail. The new JAK inhibitors, "Ruxolitnib" has a ton of warnings on the package, such as "don't use if you've ever lived near the Ohio River because parasites that are infesting your body can overwhelm your immune system" - whaaaat? Ok Skippy. I've long ago learned not to use "new cures" that come out every decade or so.
3) there is ample evidence of what is actually going on but it's not in doctors best interest to connect the dots. But I have. I went through a period of sickness that required me to take 6 years off just working on my health. During that period, I pretty much figured it out. So read on.
4) 23andMe is now widely available. In 2016 I ordered mine and spit in a cup, mailed it off and got my printout of my genes. I uploaded the raw data to Prometheaus and found out that I have a Vitamin D Receptor Mutation or VDR mutation, mine is called VDR-TAQ. I didn't understand that AT FIRST. But I kept researching. Turns out that people with VDR-TAQ only make a little bit of Vitamin D from the Sun when they are out there, compared to normal people. They operate on low D for their whole lives. Vitamin D controls the skin's pigmentation as well as many other body processes like hair, nails, bones, teeth etc. Long ago, we used to spend from sunrise to sunset outside gaining vitamin D. Then we would have enough to last us through the Winter when there is no D available in the sunlight. But we are all inside now, making anyone with low D much worse. If D gets too low for a long enough time, it will affect some people's skin pigmentation, especially if they are under stress, using up nutrients at a high rate. I came from an abusive family of alcoholics and was under a lot of stress, so my Vitligo appeared very early, at age 6. It wasn't understood so I continued to suffer low D until I figured it out at 40+. My D had consistently been low whenever measured but I wasn't told how to bring it up and why I should.
5) Bringing up your Vitamin D level isn't easy or simple. D requires cofactors in order to raise the level if you're using pills. You have to take it with magnesium and B complex or else it won't absorb. Further complicating things is that all magnesiums are not equal, you have to take a "good one", not magnesium oxide which is a cheap version that can actually harm your body instead of helping. So I took mine with magnesium bisglycinate. Also I become sick from commercial versions of the B vitamins and have to order special "activated" B so I could even take a B complex. I use the Quicksilver activated B complex liquid and it's about $50 with shipping. Was it hard to figure these things out? Yes it was. But I wanted to get better, so I did it. At the end of the day, I spent 2 summers sunning 3 times a week in a private back yard, AND supplemented with D and it's cofactors especially in winter, and my level did go up but not all the way, so I ended up buying a Sperti vitamin D light that cost me about $400. This is not PUVA which for most people does not work. This is just a regular Vitamin D light that gives off UVB rays like the sun's. Using this light, I began to have productive winters where I didn't have Seasonal Affective Disorder and see real progress on my Vitiligo. I also use a cream directly on the spots that contains vitamin D and A called Infadolan that I order online, it's about $20 for 3 tubes.
6) Since I began raising my vitamin D level with supplementation, sunning and a SPERTI UVB sunlamp, my vitilgo has slowly gone away. But there are some areas that refuse to budge. My lower abdomen is one of them. I feel that this is because there is no dark hair on the area, and it's also the largest. It also gets the least sun. Areas that have hair repigment much easier that those that don't (the pigment cells live in the hair follicles) - also areas that get sun every single day like the face. It's well known that most people find the face much easier to repigment than other areas of the body. I feel that this is because the melanocytes there get stimulation with sunlight almost every day.
7) I've read that some people get vitligo in response to chemicals found in rubber - my most persistent spots are where I used to wear rubber next to my skin growing up such as the elastic in sandals or girl's underwear. I also used to wear a latex mini skirt in my teens and early 20s, and ended up with a band of depigmentation where the skirt rested against my lower abdomen. These are very stubborn areas to treat. My advice would be if someone has vitligo, stay away from rubber, latex etc. resting against their skin. It's not necessary. Also stay away from skin bleaching agents - I got more spots from using a skin lightening cream that I got from a beauty store to take care of dark areas that had developed in intimate areas. Don't use those creams.
8) to make it through life, I've had to use camoflages for my vitiligo. I have worked as a performer and needed to appear "normal". Often, people with vitiligo are beautiful and vibrant people who have amazing gifts. Ive found to my surprise that they are often in the entertainment industry (Michael Jackson, etc). What has worked in my particular case, is using non toxic spray tans and mousses - so far I've found that Sephora Sun and Loving Tan are 2 of the least toxic. Use the Yuka app to determine the toxicity of a product. Don't use really toxic stuff as body makeup, it can affect your health. In a small glass cup, I mix the 2 mousses together into a shade that approximates my skin tone, and let it melt in to a liquid in front of a fan or heater. I use a Q tip dipped in this liquid to coat the spot initially, then use a wet washcloth to blend the edges so that there isn't such a sharp contrast between the areas. After adding that layer, I then load the rest of the liquid into a small rechargable spray gun that you can find on Amazon for about $100. I spray the areas with the spray tan artfully and enhance my abs, bustline etc while I am at it and end up with a pretty good look that can fool most people. This coating lasts for a day or 2. It takes about 30-45 minutes to re-coat myself. I usually give myself a day or 2 rest between applications. But sometimes I have to do it back to back.
8) I'm still only 3 years into using the Sun and a UVB light as a treatment for vitiligo. I've seen great progress, but the most stubborn areas aren't gone. I did, however get rid of most of the areas. When I think about how miserable I was with the amount of vitiligo I had, I want to cry. I got it to where people don't stare at me in the street, on my own - and that is very exemplary. Areas that have almost no vitligo now - face, arms, hands, chest, upper stomach, shins, thighs, lower back. Areas i still have it - ankles, foot tops, underarms, private area, lower abdomen. There is a process called MicroArt that can tattoo over those areas. It's a form of permanent makeup. At the end of the day, I want it all gone and don't want to have to deal with it at all, so I may end up getting MicroArt over the areas that are remaining so I can stop with the spray tan and just be normal. The MicroArt isn't a 100% solution because it's a permanent makeup and can't change color with tanning like your normal pigment can, but I bet it could be a 90% solution, and that might have to be the best result for me in a timely manner. You could get a professional spray tan over the Microart in the summer so it would all match, or do it yourself. I don't want to have to pursue a cure for the rest of my life. Had my parents been aware that this was a low D gene and a low nutrition problem, maybe I could have been saved in childhood and never had to go through dating and all the rest with vitligo. But unfortunately, I was the one who had to put the time/effort into finding these things out as an adult and that took precious time. MicroArt is expensive just so you know. Maybe you can find a camoflage tattoo artist who could do a servicable/acceptable job who isn't Microart and who wouldn't charge as much - more and more are popping up across the country.
9) a noteworthy site is this woman, The Vit Pro, who figured some of these things out on her own, and had a lot of success in regaining her pigment. Again, it's someone who simply took the time to figure it out on her own. I think you will find more help from individuals like me and her than from the doctors, sadly. I have seen A FEW success stories where someone was healed by a doctor, but not many. And did they stay that way? This is her site - thevitpro dot com. Good luck!

2023.05.28 17:25 DirkFang Why do y’all always blind me during my hooking animation?

Ever since I started playing about 6 months ago, I always come across someone now and then who is so obsessed with blinding me that they do it after I’ve started hooking someone. Like it doesn’t save your friend, and they never even try to save the friend either, so what’s the point? It would’ve been better to just hide, but now I know you’re somewhere near and have to try to find you.

2023.05.28 17:24 DumbVeganBItch No one likes a snitch, but I don't know what else to do

My assistant manager FUCKED me last night.
It's a small restaurant, weekend nights there's only 2 cooks in the kitchen and one FOH. The other cook and I can usually make it work okay, but sometimes it gets hairy. Head chef/GM started scheduling his assistant on a mid on weekends so that we have have some help.
She leaves early a lot because she "has nothing to do" and the owner is always crawling up their asses about labor costs. She has this amazing sixth sense where she leaves 15-20 minutes before the dinner rush. Annoying, but we usually survive.
Saturday night, memorial day weekend, beautiful weather. She's scheduled until 9 and leaves a little after 6 without saying a word to any of us. Just disappears. Dinner rush hits and we're fucked. Full dining room (32 seats) plus 4 parties on the patio space we share with the neighbor restaurants.
Cranking out food the best we can, but my other cook has to keep up with the dishes while making apps. My FOH has to serve, bartend, bus, and run food. I can't jump in to help him because our whole menu is 10 minute or less to fire and it's all hands-on. If I stop cooking, everything tanks.
We don't have a hot window so when I plate a dish it's gotta go to the table immediately, but I can't be running food because I need to cook and I'm crusty looking as fuck. I also have no FOH experience, no clue what I'm doing. FOH is losing his mind, I'm losing my mind, it's a circus.
Have to 86 a pasta sauce because she refused to make it and told the other cook not to make it because she has some petty fucking bone to pick with the a.m. cook. I wanted to make it once I realized she was not just on a break, but we were already deep in the shit. People order primarily by QR code, once I realize we're out of the sauce 4 people have already ordered it and so now I have to send my FOH guy to tell people who are already grumpy because of the wait for food that we don't have what they already ordered.
What's normally an hour and a half close turns into nearly 3 hours because the place is such a disaster. Every God damn dish in that place was dirty, line was filthy and needed almost everything restocked.
I don't normally like going to people's bosses to complain, but jfc I can't with this shit.

Oh looking! A wheat penny 😁
I'm not into coin collecting. I'd rather make a stranger's day by giving it away. If you live in the United States & really want a 1941 wheat penny please finish reading & CHECK THE COMMENTS.
I'll mail it to whoever politely comments first. I only ask that you leave a comment so I can respond & let other redditers know that the coin is already claimed. Don't leave your address in the comments, that's what a private message is for.
Yes, I know it's not worth much. But if a coin showing up in your mailbox from a stranger on the internet makes you smile when you see it, then it's worth it to me.

So I asked a latex suit maker to make me this Miles Morales suit in latex so that it would look as close to the VideoGame suit. It arrived after 6 months and then I was trying to book my favorite photographer Treys photo studios who lives near me and finally after a year and a half the pics came out incredible!!!! I’m so so so happy!!!

2023.05.28 17:23 Fungames5420 What ChatGPT thinks about the Super Giant

Hey Clashers!
I just wanted to take a moment and share my thoughts on the Super Giant in Clash of Clans. As a dedicated player, I've had the opportunity to experiment with this powerful unit, and I must say, it has left quite an impression on me.
First off, let's talk about its appearance. The Super Giant looks absolutely stunning! It's larger than life, towering over everything in its path. The attention to detail is commendable, from the intricate armor to the menacing expression on its face. Supercell definitely nailed the visual design of this colossal warrior.
When it comes to performance, the Super Giant lives up to its name. It packs a serious punch, demolishing walls and buildings with ease. Its high hit points make it a formidable tank, capable of soaking up damage and protecting other troops behind it. This makes it an excellent choice for those intense ground assaults.
What I particularly appreciate about the Super Giant is its ability to spawn regular Giants upon death. This unique feature adds an extra layer of strategy to gameplay. If you're smart and deploy your Super Giants strategically, you can create a chain reaction of reinforcements that catches your opponents off guard. It's a satisfying feeling to watch those Giants continue the fight even after their colossal comrade falls.
However, like any unit, the Super Giant has its drawbacks. Its slow movement speed can be a bit frustrating at times, especially when you're trying to keep up the pace of an attack. Additionally, air units can easily bypass the Super Giant, rendering it useless against certain base layouts. These limitations remind us that balance is essential in maintaining a fair and enjoyable gaming experience.
In conclusion, the Super Giant is an impressive addition to Clash of Clans. Its imposing presence, raw power, and unique spawn ability make it an exciting unit to use on the battlefield. It brings a fresh dynamic to attack strategies and keeps the game engaging for both veteran and new players alike.
So, fellow Clashers, what are your thoughts on the Super Giant? Have you had the chance to utilize this colossal warrior in your raids? Share your experiences and strategies in the comments below! Clash on!
