2023.06.06 00:09 snoot501 Looking for Feedback on my resume. I'm applying in the Video Game Sector
I have not updated my resume for several years, and the work I am looking for now is different to what I have applied for in the past. So, I want to know if there are any resume standards I should be aware of, and what should be included/not included in my new resume that's appropriate for the work I am currently looking for.
I am interested in getting into the video game industry. I have a background in art, so my focus is on art related roles, such as concept art, 3D modelling, etc. I also have a background in project management, though not as extensive as my art background, so I would also be interested in project management roles as well.
Thank you so much for any help and advice.

2023.06.04 17:28 scribblermendez A Critique of 'Witch King' by Martha Wells
Goodreads I got a copy of this audiobook for free from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review.
This book was fun! If I were to describe this book, it's a combination of Carol Berg's Rai-Kirah series and Steven Erikson's Malazan series. This book stars the eponymous Witch King Kai, in two timelines. In the past, he leads a rebellion against oppressive death wizards. In the present, he's trying to discover who betrayed him.
While this book didn't knock my socks off, I do think this book will end up in the top 10 books I read this year. I suggest you read this book, but enter reading this with your expectations relatively in check. This book isn't as spectacular a start to a series as Murderbot.
Spoilers Below.
WHAT IS THE TARGET AUDIENCE? WHAT GENRES? WHAT MAJOR TROPES? - Adult, but I think anyone older than 14 can read this.
- Demon protagonist who jumps between bodies
- Life-energy and death magic
- Dual timeline, past and present. Friends in the past are potentially enemies in the present
- Non-European inspired setting. (I think I remember the characters eating teff, so I think this is loosely inspired by a central African setting? I could be remembering it wrong.)
MY EMOTIONAL RESPONSE/
FUN FACTOR I had fun reading this, and I read it quickly. This book throws you right into the plot, with minimal exposition explaining worldbuilding. I enjoyed it as a relatively short pallet cleanser novel (432 pages or 13 hours audiobook) to read between bigger books. It was well written, it's prose lush, it was sharply paced, and the worldbuilding was enthralling.
If I were to make a complaint about this book, this felt like book 2 in a series. Specifically, we didn't get to know the characters like you usually do with book 1 in a series. I finished the book and the characters felt somewhat like strangers.
My favorite part of the book was the lived-in feeling of the setting and how the two timelines interacted with one another. In the past, Kai seems like a much more innocent person than he does in the present. In the past, we see the heroes interacting with one another as friends, but in the present the heroes treat one another with suspicion because they were betrayed by one of their number and they don't know who the betrayer is.
WARNING! QUIT READING NOW UNTIL YOU FINISH READING THE BOOK!
BIASES STATED To put this review/study in proper context, you must know my starting point.
I've read a few of this author's books and stories before. I read book 1 of Raksura, and didn't love it. I read the first Murderbot book, and enjoyed it. I read some of the author's MtG IP fiction, and thought she did a fine job.
I also read a handful of reviews for 'Witch King', and I'm grateful that I did. I enjoyed this novel all the more because this book exceeded the expectations those reviews left me with. This was a good book after all.
SIMILAR BOOKS/
OTHER BOOKS IN THE SERIES CONCEPT AND EXECUTION This book's concept was as a dual-timeline narrative, with the heroes in the past teaming up to defeat a great evil, while in the present they are at one another's throats. To summarize, the heroes defeated the Dark Lord(s) in the past timeline, and in the present timeline the heroes replaced the Dark Lord(s) and now squabble over the rubble of the Lord's kingdom. In the present, the book begins with Kai escaping a prison a past-friend trapped him in, and Kai has no idea which past-friend put him there. All he knows is that he's going to get revenge. This was a great concept.
This book was well executed upon, but it could have been better. I don't say this very often, but this book could have been a good 70~100 pages longer. I wanted to spend more time with these characters, I wanted to see more of the magic, I wanted to explore this world and it's civilizations more. I feel like the dual-timeline narrative resulted in us not having enough of either timeline. This is a good problem to have; it's usually good to leave the reader wanting more.
CHARACTERS, CHARACTERIZATION AND DIALOG This is the weakest part of this story. As I said above, I finished this book and the protagonists were still basically strangers to me. This book was very plot-forward. We never saw the protagonists in contexts outside of moving the plot forward. This book was all business, no pleasure.
Everything the characters do was meant to advance the plot, and it gave both timelines a frenetic energy. But this fast pacing deprived the book of a slower, more nuanced characterization of the protagonists. I left this book understanding the events surrounding Kai, but not understanding
who Kai is. Does he like tea? What's his favorite book? What's his favorite color? These questions are individually unimportant, but they hint at a greater truth; this book was stripped to the bone to provide a lean story without any 'fluff.' Consequently Kai, and everyone else, are somewhat enigmas. Some fluff is good!
To be clear, these aren't bad characters; I found Kai to be compelling. They just weren't developed here. I hope this book gets a sequel, I want to get more from this series.
PACING AND STRUCTURE And this is arguably this book's strongest aspect. This book is FAST PACED. As stated, this book has frenetic energy. It's FAST PACED, and eminently readable. I found this book as easy to consume as crackers or candy or chocolate.
Structurally, here's a breakdown.
Past
- With his family on the grasslands
- In captivity before the rebellion
- the rebellion
- Fleeing the palace of the hierarchs, and becoming fast friends
Present
- Waking up in his tomb, and stealing a new body
- Freeing the whale and talking to grandma
- Stealing the boat, and speaking with the Blessed Immortal
- Returning to where he was held in captivity decades before
- Fight scenes with the conspiracy
- Returning to civilization, and finding the true traitor
On a chapter-by-chapter level, the author integrated the two timelines by going a chapter in the past, then the present, then the past again. This strategy worked, but I think it wasn't ideal. I felt a tiny bit of friction whenever the story alternated between chapters and timelines, between past and present. Whenever we change chapters/timelines, it took me a moment to remember what the plotline was in this different timeline. Having this source of friction happen at the beginning of every chapter wasn't a big deal, but it did hamper my suspension of disbelief somewhat.
I personally feel it would have been better if the story batched together several chapters in the past, then several chapters in the present, then back to the past. That would have relieved that narrative friction.
PLOT, STAKES AND TENSION No spoilers about the plot. I thought the plot was very well done.
The stakes and tension worked REALLY WELL in the past. Kai was young and unskilled and innocent in the past, and he had a lot more to lose in the past. Due to his weakness and having so much to lose, the past felt much more serious and dangerous than the present. That's great stakes and tension. The stakes and tension in the present wasn't as well established as it was in the past.
AUTHORIAL VOICE (TONE, PROSE AND THEME) I enjoyed the author's narrative voice. I like books which have a somewhat lush, descriptive style, focusing on the texture of life. For example, describing what a flower smells like, or what food tastes like. This book is such a story, describing everything from food to the art on the walls to people's clothing. Now that said, the lush style never delved into being purple.
The story's tone was serious, but never delved into being grimdark. The main bad guys uses death magic which kills a ton of people at a time, however that's the limit of it. There's no gore, or assault, or anything grim like that.
SETTING, WORLDBUILDING AND ORIGINALITY The setting was lush, with multiple magic systems interacting with multiple cultures. The grasslands culture uses demons like Kai, there are witches who use elemental magics, the Immortal Blessed culture create magical artifacts, while the antagonist hierarchs use death magic. This was really good worldbuiling by the author, because it gave the different cultures a different texture for worldbuilding each; by getting to know the magic systems, you get to know the culture behind each one.
For example, the Blessed culture view themselves as pious and righteous due to the divine nature of their magic, but everyone else views their culture as pretentious and annoying due to how snooty their are. Another example would be demon magic; other cultures view the grassland culture as evil because they consort with demons, however the grassland culture view demons as something like Unseelie fairies- useful and dangerous, and you can marry them and form alliances with them.
Additionally, the setting isn't just a re-creation of earth. Some of the animals are NOT earth animals, like the massive wallwalkers who are domesticated beasts of burden (which sometimes eat people) or the Frankenstein-like ghoul creatures the blood magic sorcerers can create. And the characters wear non-earth clothing, like the veils the magic-user wear or the golden robes of the magically powerful hierarchs.
AUDIOBOOK NOTES I listened to the audiobook, and it was great. The protagonist is the 'Witch King' mention in the title. I felt that the narrator did a good job of adding a bit of regal dignity to the narration. If this book sounds good to you, try out the audiobook, the narrator is Eric Mok.
LESSONS LEARNED As an author, I want to improve my own writing/editing skills. To that end, I like to learn lessons from every story I read. Here's what I learned from this story:
- Link up your fantasy worldbuilding of magic with culture. For example, in this book the Immortal Blessed culture used divine magic to create magical artifacts. They view themselves as the natural rulers of the world, and consider themselves pious and just. Everyone else thinks of them as faux-rightous oppressors. This is GREAT worldbuilding, linking culture to magic to characters.
- This was a dual-timeline novel, and it divvied up the timeline by going chapter 1:present, then chapter 2: past, then 3:present, and so on/so forth. I think this strategy wasn't as good as bundling chapters into larger sections. For example, chapters 1 through 4: present, chapters 5 through 8:past, chapters 9 through 12: present...
Here's a link to all the lessons I've previously learned. SUMMARY This is a good story. I enjoyed it as a palate cleanser between larger novels. It has strong worldbuilding, pacing and plot. I thought the characters were pleasant to read, but a bit blank slates. I hope there's a series following this book, this setting and characters are interesting.
Did you like this critique/review? Here are some more:
The Rest of My In Depth Reviews On a personal note, I'm open to editing books. I don't like putting myself out here like this, but I've been told I should. Check my blog for details if interested.

2023.06.04 03:57 Wavy77777 Top 20 songs 2014-2023 (subjective rankings)
Let's make a list for the last 10 Years! So I wanted to look at the last ten contests to draw out the essence from those shows, or at least what was the most enjoyable moments for me personally. At first I thought it was too big of a task to make one big mega ranking, giving points all over again to songs I've almost forgotten, but then I decided to do this a little methodically, so it became a little more doable. So first thing, I had to listen to all the songs. Or maybe not all songs, that would take weeks, but let's at least do the short version: recaps.
Nominating My first task was to watch recaps from all shows to remember what songs were worthy and who was not good enough for such a list. I nominated X amount of songs from each year, depending on the quality of the songs. Then I ended up with 94 songs. The spread per year was as follows: 2014: 7 songs, 2015: 14 songs, 2016: 4 songs, 2017: 13 songs, 2018: 7 songs, 2019: 7 songs, 2020: 13 songs, 2021: 8 songs, 2022: 11 songs, 2023: 10 songs. Please note that since there was no contest in 2020 I was less familiar with these songs, so I had a lower threshold for nominating songs from this year. Also the number of songs nominated doesn't necessarily reflect my overall ranking of that contest as a whole.
Giving points After finding what songs was nominated I watched each and every song (that I had nominated) once again in its entirety, then giving a somewhat honest score of how much I enjoy the song now. I used a 1-20 score, meaning I had more increments than I normally do when I score Eurovision songs on a 1-12 (-9&11) scale. That was to be able to make more distinctions between songs that were close to another, avoiding too many "point lumps". I also tried to avoid influence from how I initially rated the songs when they were released. I was actually quite happy to see that I both rated some songs higher and lower than what I did initially, meaning that my opinion on a song can change over time. I even found myself rating songs from 2023 different than how I rated them just a couple weeks ago. As for versions, I always try to find the best version, whether it's the music video, national final, semi final or grand final version. The lowest I ranked any song in this ranking was 9 points. Any song lower than that would not be able to make the nomination. Again most of the lower ranked songs was from 2020, since that was the year least familiar to me, with the most amount of songs falling outside my quality criteria. The average amount of points was 13,7. The median was actually right between 13 and 14. The spread was as follows: 9 points: 2 entries, 10 points: 4 entries, 11 points: 4 entries, 12 points: 12 entries, 13 points: 24 entries, 14 points: 17 entries, 15 points: 13 entries, 16 points: 9 entries, 17 points: 4 entries, 18 points: 3 entries, 19 points: 1 entry, 20 points: 1 entry
Fine tuning Since this was about finding a top 20 list I then went back on all the songs I put up around 15-20 points and tried to split hairs between the different songs I had listed that high. This was the most enjoyable part, since the songs up there are so good, but it's also so difficult to distinguish different types of songs when you have a ballad, a medium tempo bop, an industrial techno song and a singer song writer folk song. I did end up with a list I feel good about though, so I will list it below from number 1-20 with a small text to why I like each song. I first make the list, then write a text to each below the list.
The List - Belgium 2017, Blanche - City Lights, 20 points
- Estonia 2015, Elina Born and Stig Rästa - Goodbye to Yesterday, 19 points
- Azerbaijan 2021, Efendi - Mata Hari, 18 points
- Slovenia 2015, Maraaya - Here for You, 18 points
- Serbia 2022, Konstrakta - In Corpore Sano, 18 points
- Sweden 2014, Sanna Nielsen - Undo. 17 points
- Iceland 2019, Hatari - Hatrið mun sigra , 17 points
- Azerbaijan 2017, Dihaj - Skeletons, 17 points
- Montenegro 2015, Knez - Adio, 17 points
- Czechia 2023, Vesna - My Sister's Crown, 16 points
- Italy 2015, Il Volo - Grande Amore, 16 points
- Norway 2019, Keiino - Spirit in the Sky 16 points
- Estonia 2017, Koit Toome and Laura - Verona, 16 points
- Bulgaria 2016, Poli Genova - If Love was a Crime, 16 points
- Portugal 2017, Salvador Sobral - Amor pelos dois, 16 points
- Cyprus 2022, Andromache - Ela, 16 points
- Ukraine 2021, Go_A - Shum, 16 points
- Georgia 2015, Nina Sublatti - Warrior, 15 points
- Austria 2016, Zoë - Loin d'Ici, 15 points
- Spain 2015, Edurne - Amanecer, 15 points
Other songs that almost made the list: (Sweden 2022 Cornelia Jakobs-Hold me closer), (Ukraine 2016 Jamala-1944), (Denmark 2018 Rasmussen-Higher Ground),(Moldova 2020 Natalia Gordienko-Prison), (France 2022 Alvan and Ahez-Fulenn),(The Netherlands 2022 S10-De Diepte),(Finland 2023 Käärija-Cha Cha Cha), (Georgia 2023 Iru-Echo),(Latvia 2023 Sudden Lights-Aija),(Norway 2023 Alessandra-Queen of the Kings), (Spain 2023 Blanca Paloma-Eaea), (Ireland 2015 Molly Sterling-Playing with numbers), (Armenia 2017 Artsvik, Fly with me)
About each song - Blanche-City Lights. It was actually quite easy for me to put this on top, and it was the song I was the most sure about. I consider this song pure pop magic. Blanche's dark toned down vocals to the dark minor chords and the effective beat in a sort minimalist electro production is so effective on so many levels I don't know where to begin. I have listened to some of the other songs she has released after Eurovision, and she is a really gifted musician.
- Elina Born and Stig Rästa-Goodbye to Yesterday. This almost cinematic singer songwriter tune with it's relatively trad arrangement reminds me of Lee and Nancy (Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra) who made some pretty cool albums back in the 6os and 70s. It almost has this road movie feel to it and is an ubercool feel and very melodic verse. Stig's toned down voice and Elina's emotional performance made it an instant hit. If you want to see where Elina got her idea from her Grand finale costume, take a look at Tura Satana from Russ Meyer's Faster Pussycat Kill Kill.
- Efendi-Mata Hari. Actually everything about this song screams The Netherlands. It's song written by Dutch people about a Dutch spy performed in the Netherlands, it even charted in the Netehrlands. I wouldn't be surprised if Efendi actually has a Dutch grandfather or mother...;) Jokes aside, this oriental-ish bop is about as catchy and fiery and visually seductive as they come. There's no shortage of spice and sauce on this quality song or it's visual presentation. I still get thrown back in my chair everything I hear the "MATA HARI" opening.
- Maraaya-Here for You. The opening suggests some sort of jazz ballad with Marjetka's vocal fry "When you're down down low..."over the minimalist piano intro. But then comes the drums and the key changes and the vocal sound and style changes just like that to a darker, more energetic melody before we get a more orchestrated version of the intro now as a chorus. The el violin, piano licks highlights this great song along with Marjetka's great voice. The bridge is not too bad either. There's actually a lot going on here so it's kind of hard to analyse, but the result is great. And you just gotta love Marjetka's head phone coupled with the wind machine with her ginger hair blowing in the wind.
- Konstrakta-In Corpore Sano. This must be one of the more curious ESC songs of all time with it's relatively minimalist melody with Serbian lyrics about health and body fixation with its electronic choir like background vocals but it's the ultimate clap release chorus that makes us go "Biti zdrava" while we frenetically do a robotic golf clap that shows this strange song its appeal. It's just very cool and catchy, and it shows us all a side of ourselves we didn't know we had in us. Pure art, pure performance, pure magic.
- Sanna Nielsen-Undo. A fantastic pop ballad with beautiful minor moods and a dramatic chorus, plus the archetypical modulation towards the end. One of those songs that simply stands the test of time and I can listen to over and over again. Sanna is a very good singer who focuses a lot on schlager type music in her repertoire. I prefer this over many other songs from Sweden. It might have to do with my preference for drama and sadness over joyful and cheery songs. If you look at the heritage of Abba and what made them good songwriters it had a lot to do with their knack for making these bittersweet type songs with both sadness and joyfulness to them. This is a good example of such a song.
- Hatari- Hatrið mun sigra. How about sending an industrial techno song about how society will collapse? Why not? Iceland did it and they got away with it...;) At least almost as they got fined during the voting for showing a Palestinian flag during the voting. So the fine wasn't about the song. The song is very intense with it's hard electronic bassline with Matthias Haraldsson's distorted shouting in the verse, then to Klemens Hannigan's seductive and high, melodic singing in the chorus, making the contrast between the two singing styles extremely enjoyable and almost refined. The synth licks complementing the singing is also very well arranged. A true classic. Oh and I didn't even mention the visuals with the red blinking lights, the fire, the BDSM outfits that makes it look like some kind of alternative from East Berlin 1982.
- Dihaj-Skeletons. 80s electro style pop tune with jet like bass synths backing an angelic voice and baroque like synth licks that comes in at the pre chorus part before it explodes into an energetic chorus. Very cool. Dihaj is also a very good singer with a good range. I never quite understood the staging at the contest though. I expected something completely different.
- Knez-Adio. For me this is the quintessential Balkan ballad. The string arrangements, the soothing rhythm, the harmonic background vocals and the strong melody just blend together so well, and gives you images of mountains, rivers, waterfalls and works well into this mid tempo ballad with pretty minor chords and a pretty, sentimental delivery from Knez, who I think is one of the stronger vocalists the contest have seen.
- Vesna-My Sister's Crown. So onto this year's only entry on this list. As much as I liked a lot of the songs from 2023, a lot of them ended around the 30th spot in this list. Vesna was my lone candidate actually ending up on the list. To me they were always this year's number one, with their anthem about sisterhood, whether it was about slavic sisterhood or not is not so important to me. It was the song itself that got to me. It probably hit at the right time since I've become very interested in Czech history, culture and language the last years as well. As someone who is into harmonic music with folk elements this really hit the spot for me. I was so happy to see their final performance with their long braids and pink jumpsuits, plus very good choreography. The dancing at the end of the song really got to me, and I still have to focus really hard not to get emotional everytime I see that part. Dobra prace, holky!
- Il Volo-Grande Amore. Is it possible to get more Italian than this? And I mean it as a compliment. With great drama, big time forte this operapop schlager with grand voices hit big time in 2015 and won the popular votes of the contest. Some wondered if it would be too kitchy to send something so rooted in an ancient music style from the 17th century to a modern song contest that focuses greatly on visuals. The answer was an absolute no. I must admit that this was not among my favourites initially in 2015, but it slowly grew on me and now I really love it. The arrangement here is also interesting with a relativley monotonous bassline topped with the grand string arrangements that leads us to the crescendo.
- Keiino-Spirit in the Sky. My own country's only entry for this list. Combing EDM and joik actually works, and it's mindblowing how catchy this song gets when all the voices come together in the chorus. The melody in the chorus is slightly similar to Saara Alto's Monsters from 2018, but the song itself is very different. The Sami culture is quite exotic and far away even for us Norwegians, and even though the song is not a Sami song per se, all the elements of joik, Northern lights and shaman symbolism sends us into this mystical journey into the far north of ice, snow and winter darkness.
- Koit Toome and Laura-Verona. This pop love drama that uses Romeo and Juliet's city as it's background, was absolutely robbed of a place in the grand final when televotes gave it a 6th place in the second semi final while the juries only gave it 16 points, ending up 17th on the jury ranking, ultimately ending up only 14th on the combined list. As you can see, I have it higher on my Song of the decade-list than juries had it in that semi final. I also remember how bad the sound was, microphones not working, maybe even monitors not working when they were to perform in the semi final. For the best version of this song, watch the music video. The video of the semi final performance only makes me angry. Now, about the song itself, it's super catchy, almost anthemic in it's "o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o, we lost and we found our Verona" chorus. A great pop composition that has really stood the test of time.
- Poli Genova-If Love was a crime. Another song that I didn't love at first, but that has really grown on me over time. A quite dance friendly pop tune with almost soul like elements in the chorus, with it's unison singing and that trademark dance that come along with the performance. The song starts with a piano backing track, drums and that flute like synth that plays some infectious riff that sounds like a bird whistle or something. The true genius of this song is the pre chorus when she sings the title of the song. That part has some fantastic harmony arrangements and a great melody. It also took me a while to understand that the chorus was sung in Bulgarian. I never really understood why she sang "All I'm in Luther, I'm in Luther"...;)
- Salvador Sobral-Amor pelos dois. The only winner song on this list. When I made this list I didn't actually believe that this song would make it onto the top 20, but here it is! Some look at this as a sentimental journey back to old style Eurovision with no electronic music, no dancers, no smoke machines, basically nothing fancy going on whatsoever, and to some people, maybe even boring. I just look at this as a very pretty song about love that is sung in the prettiest and most heartfelt way possible. At the time of the final Salvador Sobral was due to a heart transplant caused by a weak heart, so at the time of the performance there where doubts about how long he could survive. Fortunately this looks like it has succeeded, and the performances I've seen of him since he looks a lot more healthy than he did in 2017. Thank god.
- Andromache-Ela. My second NQ on the list. It's claimed that the reason she didn't go the final was due to a bad vocal performance in the semi final, but it was the juries that really put her down with only giving her 9 points, and juries don't go off the televised performance do they? Or was it only in the grand finale that there's an extra jury performance? Anyhow, this beautiful Greek-balkan style pop song really deserved a lot more than it got from the juries and should have been in the grand finale. Pretty and delicate strings opens up before a pop track emerges with Andromache's pretty voice singing a heavenly melody and the super catchy chorus sends us straight to the Greek gods of lush voices and soft femininity. Nice use of echo and reverberation in this track.
- Go_A-Shum. Ukrainian techno folk sang entirely in Ukrainian is just one of these things I never imagined myself that I would enjoy, and going into then final I considered this song more of a curiosity than a song that I would thoroughly enjoy, but I was wrong. Folk music always takes a bit of a different ear to enjoy than "normal pop". The style of singing and the rhythm has a monotonous, almost chanting feel to it, and can sound off to many western ears. Yet this song really hit a nerve with me eventually. I just love what Ukraine has done to Eurovision, and I hope they keep sending great songs like this.
- Nina Sublatti-Warrior. A very powerful song with great attitude. A bumblebee like synth opens up before we have tribal drums and Nina singing about fighting and something about "oximated". It doesn't matter cause I believe everything she sings anyway. The chorus comes in hard and powerful with Nina singing her heart out and again those big drums. A pretty straight forward angry war-pop song, but very haunting and no-nonsense. My ESC universe is better with songs like these. Arguably the best song from Sakartvelo we've had, even though Iru challenged her pretty good this year.
- Zoë-Loin d'Ici. How many entries has there been that is sung in a language that is not a national language that is not English? I have watched the movie The Piano Teacher which is an Austrian movie where the dialogue is in French, but I've never had the impression that Austria had this thing about the french langauge or what? Nevermind, Zoë's tune Loin d'Ici is a dreamy, heavenly pop song with an amazing melody and stellar rhythm arrangement. I recognise her vocal style more as French than Austrian, but that could be the language. Anyway I'm not complaining, cause I'm a big fan of french vocals in the first place. This would fit in a movie I think with it's rich colourful style it could paint a faraway country in your dreams in a very nice way.
- Edurne-Amanecer. The sixth entry from 2015, so I guess that year wins it for me. And even though this song sounds very Spanish to me it's actually composed by Swedish composers. It has an ethnic style with a big dramatic chorus and a melody in minor chords. This is the same year Grande Amore from Italy and even though the songs are quite different I do also see similarities with the big crescendo like chorus and the songs being sung in each country's national language. It didn't perform very well in the final with only 15 points, of which 8 came from neighbours France and Portugal. Big countries also have neighbours! However in my opinion this is the best Spanish entry the last 10 years, even though I both nominated 2022 and 2023 also, so it's safe to say that things are moving in the right direction.

2023.06.03 18:28 Meaning-Plenty Reviving Khanyari Tiles
After ruling Kashmir homes for decades, the Khanyar Rogni tiles are so low in demand that now only two artisans are associated with the art. With bright finished tiles filling the billion rupee sector, Syed Shadab Ali Gillani meets stakeholders to offer ideas for reviving the heritage craft.
Nestled in the cultural milieu of Khanyar, the heart of Shehr-e-Kashmir, Srinagar lives the region’s last surviving traditional clay tile maker. Aged, he still uses the traditional practices for colouring these tiles, once a fashion statement.
These tiles, popularly known as Roghni or Khanyari tiles, were famous for their fine craftsmanship and distinctive designs for more than a century. Now Haji Ghulam Mohammad Kumhar, 75, is the lone artisan to carry forward this heritage.
Kumhar inherited the craft from his father and grandfather. “I started learning the craft of Roghni tile making at the age of 15 and have been in this profession for around 60 years,” he said.
With his expertise in clay tile-making and the unique art of colouring them, Kumhar has been able to keep the legacy alive. He remembers the days when these tiles were part of every household. Although “various challenges of modern times” have pushed the tiles out of fashion, Kumhar boasts that “one can still find these tiles in some buildings and shrines.”
Out of Fashion “Tile making was practised throughout Kashmir and Khanyar was full of tile makers like me but now these tiles are on the verge of extinction,” Kumhar regretted as these tiles, considered an ‘essential part of exquisite Kashmiri architecture depicting Kashmir’s rich craftsmanship, are no more in vogue.
There are two major challenges. Firstly, these tiles have been unable to compete with tiles being imported from outside. Secondly, there has not been any mechanical intervention in the craft that could have helped the tile compete better. Finally, when the market dried up, the younger generation of craftsmen showed little interest in carrying forward the craft.
Javed Ahmed, Kumhar’s elder son, said these tiles are not valued in the market. “I belong to a family which has a lineage of tile makers but nowadays one can’t earn a livelihood from this business,” he said. “Looking at the present market conditions and declining demand,” he finds it challenging to survive.
Fall In Demand Nowadays orders for these tiles have consistently been going down. “Earlier there were many makers and every day we all had orders of around 50000 tiles, but with the decline in demand, I am the only one involved with this art in Khanyar,” Kumhar said. “Considering my health conditions, I can barely produce about 100 tiles.”
Saleem Beigh, the head of INTACH Kashmir admitted the ‘demand is the problem’. “These tiles were typically utilised in sitting areas in houses, but their use was adversely affected by the introduction of new types of flooring and tiles in the market,” he said. “We need to work on the demand side. The use of these tiles in public areas, such as government buildings, public spaces and shrines, will attract more people to these crafts and create a good demand.”
Skill Transfer Kumhar Sr, however, is undeterred. Market demand apart, he takes great pride in his work and is committed to preserving this age-old tradition. He hopes that someone will continue the legacy, but understands that it may be an uphill task.
His focus, right now, is to inherit the skill. “I want to teach this craft to more and more people so that this art form which has a deep cultural significance lasts long,” he said. “But I don’t have enough space in my workshop. Many people visit here to learn this art form but due to lack of space I am not able to teach them, which is very unfortunate and disheartening.”
Off late, Kumhar has taught a new generation potter Mohammad Umer this craft. Seemingly, this is Kumhar’s major achievement. “My family has been in the pottery business and although many potters are capable of creating these handmade clay tiles, only Haji Sahab is the master of the craft of Roghan clays,” Umar said. “I spent over three years learning this art form from him, and my training is still going on.”
Umer admires Haji’s patience with which he makes these tiles as these are delicate. “A single error might completely wreck the whole process,” he said. Given the fact that these tiles are made manually, more people are required to pick the skill. “After learning this craft from Haji Sahab, I also taught this craft to my brother and now we have set up a small workspace at our residence in Nishat, where presently we are teaching this craft to few others.”
Laborious Exercise Khanyari tile making is laborious and labour intensive because the entire process is manual. “It begins with the selection of high-quality clay, which is then moulded into intricate designs using traditional tools, then to colour these tiles different materials including copper dust, iron dust, lead are used,” Kumhar said. “It is followed by drying of these tiles at high temperatures in a traditional kiln, which provides them with their unique strength, texture and durability.”
In a world where mass-produced products have become the norm, the Khanyari tile makers stand out as a reminiscence of the beauty and value of Kashmir’s heritage craftsmanship. Kumhar’s dedication to keeping the craft alive led him to knock at many doors in the last few years. Some officers made promises to him at an exhibition last year.
“They told me that I will be provided with a piece of land so that I can set up my workshop and teach people, but till now I do not have any information about that,” Kumhar regretted. Umer said they were told that the file was being processed but later we did not hear anything.
Recently, Umar said he got an order of around 4000 tiles. “It will take me around a month or more because all the work is done manually,” Umar said, insisting these orders are less frequent
A Way Out Beigh, who earlier headed the handicrafts and the industries department and is aware of the socio-cultural worth of Kashmir, said mere demand, will not help. “I believe people are ready to pay a good price for good quality things,” Beigh said, suggesting the tile’s up-gradation as a piece of art. “Art is valued a lot but it will only happen if we consider the artistic way. The artistic approach can be used by starting studios. We need to do things out of the box, by using these skills to create different things. We have to take risks to create demand among people. The usage should be in modern medium, artists need to step in and when an artist becomes part of architecture and they will create space for these tiles.”
In November 2022, a Kashmir-based architect and professional city planner, Zoya Khan did an exhibition, The Last Craftsman, which was supported by the Department of handicrafts and Handloom. It was aimed at creating awareness and educating people about this dying art form.
“Three years ago, I actually wanted these tiles for a project and that is when I discovered that these tiles are almost on the verge of extinction,” Zoya said. “These tiles were once very popular, people associated with this craft used to get about 3000 tiles made at its peak in the Mohalla and now years passed and these people don’t have any orders.”
Revival Possible This art is part of the heritage and is deep-rooted in Kashmir’s architectural history. “This profession plays a significant role in our tangible cultural legacy. Therefore, it should be preserved, and I find it fascinating that Haji Sahab, who works in a single small Karkhana in the city, does not, unfortunately, receive the love and care he so richly deserves. I want more and more people to become involved in this and become informed about how this craft is in jeopardy of disappearing entirely if we don’t take action soon,” Zoya stated
Beigh regretted that Kashmir society has failed in popularising its own art. “Even if times have changed, there are still places where many artistic things can be used, and these tiles are one of those,” he suggested. “While the process will take some time, once a trend emerges, more people will become involved. The government could also put up a small industrial area for a number of small businesses that would house these craftspeople.” Beigh admitted that the government must serve as both a consumer and a facilitator to revive this art and make it mainstream.

So let's dance through all our fears Zazu begins to do the shuffle, moving in furious fashion with all the passion and drive, hand still gripped on the microphone. Vous êtes jamais seuls Haja and Zazu both stop, and instantly it’s clear, they both know the french, as Chronologica excitedly looks at the judges with a grin. So let's dance through all our fears Spinning into a split, Zazu raises her hands in the air and throws the microphone as Chronologica catches it, cheering. Your disco needs you Haja raises her hands in the air, Zazu throws a pose, and the judges and others cheer as the song ends. … This is a tough one. … … … Zazu Nova, Shantay YOU stay. Zazu exhales. “Oh my gosh, thank you.” Zazu smiles at Haja, who is clearly upset. Haja Hubiani. Thank you for coming here, giving your all… but for now, sashay… away. “Thank you for this opportunity. I may not have won, but damn it. I fought.” Haja nods, strutting off. Haja Hubiani: “I am disappointed. But you know, I was here, I was fighting for this- and I hope my country is proud.” Lipstick Message: “Battle for your LIFE, bitches! Good luck.” ~ https://preview.redd.it/yvw3c6qmeo3b1.png?width=900&format=png&auto=webp&s=16640c51372dce491629c712d04f453216427152 The competitors walk into the werkroom. “Haja.” Zazu frowns. Zazu Nova: “I have just eliminated Haja, and wow. It kinda hurts.” Zazu tears up. “I feel bad.” “Battle for your life, bitches. Good luck.” Zazu’s eyes well with tears as she wipes away the message. “She was a fighter.” Jaslene says. “I know she wanted this so bad.” Jaslene Bangus: “You know, as do I. I’m here to win, and I saw that girl letting herself get stressed by it. And no baby, that won’t beme.” Everyone sits down. “We’ve cracked the top 8.” Granny looks around. “That’s pretty phenomenal.” Granny Gorgeous: “If I am being honest, I didn’t expect to be here. And I am, that feels lovely.” “All of us have a win, except Ms… Raiz.” Aguacate raises an eyebrow, as the others turn to look at her. Yasmin smiles. “I’m not nervous.” Yasmin Raiz: “I am here to show myself. I’ve been consistent, I’ve been authentic- I have no qualms in the fact I will get a win at some point.” “I’m glad you aren’t. But I’m also so happy to not be the last one to win, baby!” Aguacate cheers, as the others clap. “You did really well.” Fiore purses her lips. “I’d have loved to have gotten a win, but I think I showed myself a comedian.” “Comedian?” Aguacate raises an eyebrow. “Yes.” Fiore smiles. “Comedy is an art, and I am a master of crafts. I played a role, and I did it well.” Fiore responds. Aguacate eyes Fiore. Aguacate: “Delusion!!” Aguacate cackles. “Okay, I know that’s ironic coming from me.” “Either way, we are here, ready to fight another day, and to celebrate the journey.” Crayola smiles. “And that is lovely.” “We’re here to have FUN, right?” Omari says sarcastically. “Well, most of us.” Jaslene purses her lips. The racers de-drag. “That comment…” Omari exhales. “It’s ringing in my head.” “Don’t let things get to you.” Granny smiles. “You’re a star.” “I’ve been doing this for years.” Omari looks at Jaslene, who cackles with Fiore. “How can she say I’m not having fun with it?” “Well, have some fun, then.” Granny says with a grin on her face. “I will…” Omari says. “I will.” King Omari Star: “Get ready world… I’m going to have… fun.” Omari cracks his knuckles, before adjusting himself in his seat. “I’m not ridgid.” Omari sits like a formal King. “Just watch me work.” “Honey, if you stand that stiff, you’re gonna be sore by my age. You look tense.” Granny laughs. “Whoops.” Omari shakes himself around. “Thanks.” Granny grins. “Not a problem at all.” ~ The Next Day, Yasmin smiles. “I didn’t cook.” “Oh, so you’re going home this time.” Aguacate responds. “I baked!” Yasmin reveals a plate of cookies. “Damn, she’s not going home.” Aguacate frowns. “Wait, if when you don’t cook, you bottom, and if you do cook, you’re safe or high… what happens when you bake?” Zazu asks. “I guess we’ll find out.” Yasmin winks. You’ve got drag mail! The beat is pumpin’, so let’s dance baby! “No dancing.” Aguacate shakes her head. Hi racers. It’s time… Chronologica takes out a pair of glasses. TO READ! Because reading is WHAT? “FUNDAMENTAL!” ~ “First off…” Jaslene looks at Zazu. “I want to thank you girl, for showing us authentically African drag at its worst.” Zazu gasps. “And Omari, thank you for showing us how to deliver high class drag without a single bit of joy in it!” Omari looks displeased. “Aguacate, I will say this in Spanish.” Jaslene smiles. “¡Estás tan plagada con tantas enfermedades sexuales que cuando besas a alguien, se convierten en paciente cero!” Aguacate looks shocked. ~ Jaslene, you’re a winner baby! “Another one in the basket.” Jaslene smirks. Racers, it’s time to HOST YOUR OWN FESTIVAL! For this week’s maxi challenge, you will in teams curate a festival of your choosing, hosting an event of a lifetime! You will come up with your own name, concept, idea, and execute it to stardom! Yasmin Raiz: “I am SO excited for this. I love festivals! I’m over the moon excited for this, and my head is BOOMING.” Yasmin stops herself. “Oh lordy-my-lordy. My head is ALWAYS booming.” Yasmin giggles. Jaslene, as mini challenge winner, you get to assign the teams. “Okay, werk.” Jaslene nods. “I choose Fiore.” Fiore grins. “...Aguacate and… Granny.” Jaslene says. “Crayola… and Yasmin.” And that leaves Zazu and Omari! King Omari Star: “Hmph.” Zazu grins, running over. “Let’s do THIS!” Good luck, racers… and do NOT fuck it up. ~ The teams sit around the table as they prepare for the maxi challenge. Yasmin Raiz: “For this week’s maxi challenge, we’re hosting our own FESTIVAL. Festivals have music, food and straight up good times. Which are ALL a recipe for a festivalicious Yasmin!!” “So, we’re a team.” Crayola smiles, looking at Yasmin. “Yes indeedy.” Yasmin grins. “I really want to have myself get outside out of that box, that Chronologica has said I’ve been in.” Crayola says. “Fabulousoing.” Yasmin beams. “How so?” “...I haven’t figured it out yet.” Crayola chuckles. "Well, my colorful friend, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to step outside that box and show the world a whole new side of Crayola. And I think I might just have the idea to spice things up." Yasmin smirks. “What’s your idea?” Crayola asks. “Do you like spicy food?” Yasmin raises an eyebrow. “I prefer yogurt, or a lovely fruit salad…” “You’re so white.” Yasmin laughs. Crayola shrugs. "Picture this, my dear: A Spice themed festival! We can pay homage to the iconic Spice Girls and celebrate all things spicy. And guess who's going to be our spicy surprise?" Yasmin smirks. “Me?” “YOU!” Yasmin chuckles. "Oh, darling, I envision you as the embodiment of Scary Spice meets Posh Spice. You'll be the daring white queen who fearlessly embraces the heat! We'll have a culinary challenge where you'll showcase your prowess in eating the spiciest of dishes. It'll be a journey of flavor and courage!" “I’m stepping outside my box, we’re embracing your culinary talents, and we will host a SHOW!” Crayola looks excitedly. "Alright, Yasmin, I'm in. Let's make this Spice festival the hottest event of the season!" Yasmin claps her hands in excitement. Meanwhile, Fiore and Jaslene sit together. “My A.E Sister.” Jaslene smiles. “Sis.” Fiore purses her lips. “What’s your idea?” “I mean, we’re divas, we’re icons..” Jaslene smirks. “And I want us to win this.” Jaslene Bangus: “I can feel myself slightly off here. I want to really accelerate my performance and showcase what I can do.” “I do too.” Fiore nods. “So, I think we really showcase that. The pretty girl festival.” Jaslene smiles. Fiore makes a confused face. Taking up a hat, Jaslene walks over. “Opulence, beauty- the most exclusive of exclusive parties for the most stunning girls, only. We give them…” Jaslene picks up a huge cowgirl hat. “A cowgirl hat?” Fiore says. “...Don’t you love this idea?” Jaslene looks at Fiore, wearing the huge hat. “No.” Fiore responds. Fiore raises an eyebrow, her expression unimpressed and blunt. "Jaslene, darling, I love you, but let's be real here. That cowgirl hat is not going to scream 'opulence' or 'exclusive' to anyone. If we're going for a classy and elevated concept, we need to think bigger." Fiore says. Looking slightly offended, Jaslene purses her lips. “In what way?” "I see the potential, but we need something more elevated. How about we create an exclusive garden party theme? Picture this: an enchanting outdoor setting, with beautiful flowers, elegant table settings, and a refined atmosphere. It will be the epitome of grace and sophistication." Fiore Stravaganza: “Fiore is sophisticated always. That is my brand.” "But everyone does garden parties, Fiore! I want something bold, something that screams 'Jaslene!’ something that is us BOTH!'" Fiore sighs. "Jaslene, you're missing the point. We want to showcase our professionalism and show the judges that we can bring high-end fashion and sophistication to the stage. We need to impress, not embarrass ourselves with gimmicks." “Ugh…” Jaslene responds. “I guess so.” Fiore Stravaganza: “Love her to death but truly, I wish I was doing this challenge solo.” ~ Chronologica goes to visit the racers. Hello, Aguacate and Granny! “Chronologica, are you ready for this?” Aguacate smirks. Ready for what? “MADNESS!” Aguacate cheers. Granny chuckles as Chronologica looks at the two. “We are going for La Fiesta Loca, a tribute to our Latin American roots.” Agacate smiles. “And, you know, we’re a bit strange.” “I am a 65 year old drag Queen grandmother.” Granny grins. I think that’s a fun idea, and works with you both. Aguacate looks excitedly. Do you have experience hosting, either of you? “Of course.” Aguacate grins. “We’re both star artistes, we’re both hilarious-” “I actually have not hosted before.” Granny raises her hand. Aguacate: “Ah Dios Mío…” Give me a line, then- how you’re gonna approach this. “I’m Granny Gorgeous, and we’re going loca, darling.” Granny smiles. … … Oh, that was it? “We’re working on it.” Aguacate looks over at Granny. Aguacate: “I am about to put that Abuela through fucking hosting bootcamp.” Good. You know where to go… do it. Aguacate: “I AM NOT BOTTOMING! I AM NEVER A BOTTOM!” … Hi, Omari and Zazu. “Hi Chronologica!” Zazu smiles. Zazu Nova: “I’m excited for this challenge. I suggested an idea, I planned a concept, and he was excited. The Africa Unity Festival!” King Omari Star: “I hate the idea. But I am going to take this feedback, and really hone in on it. Give… fun.” Omari growls. “Chronologica.” Omari nods. What is your concept? “We both are from the same continent. We both have cultural traditions, we both have a shared fantastic place where we live.” Zazu smiles. “And for that, we’re showcasing it.” Omari nods. I think that’s a great idea. Omari looks surprised, whilst Zazu has a bright smile. Are you excited for this concept? “I really am.” Zazu grins. “It’s a fantastic opportunity, and I am taking this by the horns and really having fun with it.” Omari says coolly. I… Chronologica purses her lips. I need you to have fun with it, Omari. King Omari Star: “Don’t I look like I am having fun?!” “I can assure you, I am.” Omari says. You’re polished, you’re talented, but I think you can be a bit tight. And truly, I am nervous about you here. Omari gulps. My tip is to embrace the fun. “I will.” Omari nods. Zazu smiles. King Omari Star: “...Fun!” ~ As they get ready, Fiore, Jaslene, Omari and Zazu, Crayola and Yasmin chat, whilst Aguacate appears to be running Granny through an obstacle course inside the werkroom. “How are we all feeling about this challenge?” Yasmin smiles, looking excitedly. “I’m feeling riveted.” Zazu grins. "I must say, I'm quite confident in our concept. The exclusive garden party theme is right up my alley, and I know Jaslene has a knack for bringing the drama and glamor. I think we can really shine here." Fiore flicks her hair. "Yeah, I'm ready to slay this festival. Fiore and I might have had a little disagreement earlier, but we're on the same page now.” Jaslene nods. “We're gonna show them what high-class, elegant drag is all about, baby!” Jaslene smirks. "I'm really excited about our own Spice festival concept. It's something different, and I love the idea of showcasing my versatility. I think we can bring some heat and spice to the stage!" “Heat and Spice?” Zazu raises an eyebrow. Yasmin giggles as she turns to Zazu. "Oh, honey, you have no idea what we have planned for this festival. It's not just about the spicy food, it's about the spice in our performances too!" Zazu grins. "Well, I'm all about adding some flavor to this competition. Let's make it hot!" “This challenge means a lot.” Yasmin looks at Crayola, who nods. As the teams continue to discuss their ideas, Omari sits quietly in the corner, lost in his own thoughts. Granny runs over, panting as Aguacate drops her whip and starts painting her face. "Omari." Granny smiles delicately. "Are you okay?" Omari looks up, snapping out of his reverie. “Yes, I'm fine. Just... thinking." Granny raises an eyebrow. "About what?" Omari sighs and looks a bit frustrated. "It's just... I can't help but feel like I'm being labeled as 'stiff' or 'unfriendly' in this competition. It bothers me because I am focused on the crown and doing my best, but people seem to misunderstand me." “Still, with that?” Granny frowns. “I’ve been watching this show since it started. But what- what inspired me, what triggered this drive and audition for me- was season 3 was filmed. Jerry Good Drag Queen toured the show and was actually visiting South Africa.” Omari purses his lips. “I’ve been doing drag for a while.” Granny nods. “I’ve built respect in the African drag scene- it’s small, and I get to travel for it. But when I got there, I was treated with such a lack of respect, like I was nothing, by this DRAG RACE girl- a winner, someone black… and you know, I didn’t make a big deal of it when she judged, because I didn’t want it to be a thing but... I never want to feel like that. I’m fixated. I’m not stiff. I’m just focused, and I’m going to have fun with this, but- I want the crown, you know?!” Omari exhales. "I hear you, my dear. It's frustrating when others misjudge us based on surface impressions. But let me tell you something, Omari: you are a force to be reckoned with. Your focus, determination, and passion for drag shine through in your performances. And don't forget, the crown is within your reach. You have every right to go after it and claim it for yourself." Granny chuckles. “If I don’t get it first.” Omari looks at Granny, a mixture of gratitude and determination in his eyes. "Thank you, Granny. Your words mean a lot to me. I won't let anyone's misconceptions hold me back. I'll show them what I'm made of. Even if I fall, I will rise.” “Damn yeah.” Granny grins. “GRANNY, COME BACK!” Aguacate yells, an axe in her hand as Granny starts to run away. ~ Stats Voting Spreadsheet submitted by AustralianChrono to RPDRfantasyseason [link] [comments] |

Good luck.” ~ https://preview.redd.it/42jql58neo3b1.png?width=900&format=png&auto=webp&s=19398cad572b0d0d553e3b48ab4a0c3a09c38efb The competitors walk into the werkroom. HALO: EPITAPH
In May, we revealed the cover art for Halo: Epitaph, illustrated by Chris McGrath.
Halo: Epitaph is the next novel by Kelly Gay, which will explore the final fate of the Didact in the wake of his defeat at the end of Halo 4 —and his subsequent composition in the Halo: Escalation comic series.
Scheduled for release on January 2, 2024, stay tuned for chapter previews later this year!
PRE-ORDER HALO: EPITAPH
Stripped of armor, might, and memory, the Forerunner warrior known as the Didact was torn from the physical world following his destructive confrontation with the Master Chief and sent reeling into the mysterious depths of a seemingly endless desert wasteland. This once powerful and terrifying figure is now a shadow of his former self—gaunt, broken, desiccated, and alone. But this wasteland is not as barren as it seems. A blue light glints from a thin spire in the far distance…
Thus begins the Didact’s great journey—the final fate of one of the galaxy’s most enigmatic and pivotal figures.

THE ARTIST’S CORNER
This month’s piece from The Artist’s Corner is an illustration by David Heidhoff from Halo Mythos, depicting the Desecration of Ulgethon—a first contact encounter that would ignite decades of conflict between the Sangheili and San’Shyuum known as the War of Beginnings.
When the San’Shyuum landed on the desolate world of Ulgethon, a planet that appeared entirely uninhabited, the first pioneer detachment identified a repository of Forerunner relics. Upon arriving at the site, however, they found it inhabited by the Sangheili, and they spoke with their leader—an Arbiter known as Vema ‘Togad, who would come to be known as the Prophet’s Bane.
After learning of their intentions to excavate the ancient relics, ‘Togad slaughtered the San’Shyuum delegation and sent their severed heads back to the Anodyne Spirit as a warning. And so, the War of Beginnings erupted, with the San’Shyuum taking their dreadnought to the skies where it was met by a blockade of Sangheili ships, which is the scene depicted in the artwork below.
You can learn more about this fascinating period of early Covenant history in the Halo 2: Anniversary Terminals, the novel Halo: Broken Circle, and in the 2022 edition of the Halo Encyclopedia.

2023.06.02 09:54 autobuzzfeedbot "She Was So Rude, My Family Is No Longer Allowed To Listen To Her Music": 34 Of The Absolute Best And Worst Celebrities People Have Ever Met
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I’ve met Harry Styles several times, and he is so nice and considerate. He actually put off going out with his team just to sit and talk to my 15-year-old daughter and me. I’m sure he was exhausted, but he seemed to enjoy relaxing and chatting with us. My daughter will most likely live on that memory for years to come!"
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "Jennifer Aniston is a sweetheart. She seemed very genuine and kind. I met her in a restaurant bathroom of all places. We talked for so long, her friend had to come and find her."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I met Lorne Michaels when I worked at a 5-star restaurant. Everyone who worked with me knew I’d been a fan of SNL since I came out of the womb, so when I picked up the phone to make the reservation and spoke with his assistant, I told them I was Lorne's biggest fan. When he arrived with his wife and son (who went to a local boarding school), they were so kind, and he said, 'Oh, I heard you’re my biggest fan, and that’s amazing because I don’t have fans — the cast always has fans!' I almost died. I gave them my favorite table, which they were thrilled with, and when he got up to leave, he left me an envelope with a pretty sweet bonus tip inside. I wasn’t usually tipped doing my work, so it wasn’t necessary, but it was so thoughtful and appreciated. All three were true gems. You’d never know he was famous or rich at all."
- TOTAL NIGHTMARE: "I met Roseanne Barr for work once. I went to shake her hand, and she looked me up and down and said, 'I don't shake hands,' then walked away."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I met Matthew Gray Gubler after he did a talk years ago at my college! Only the first 100 people who got tickets were supposed to be able to do a meet and greet. He said 'rules were made to be broken' and that he would stay and meet with everyone until they kicked him out. Not only was he incredibly sweet to me (literally introduced himself...so humble and posed for a goofy pic), but he seemed so genuinely kind to everyone there. Just amazing energy all around."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "A friend and I visited my boyfriend while he was doing security at a jazz festival in Malibu. He told us Adam Sandler and his family had been there all day and tons of people took pictures with him. We ran back to the car to grab the digital camera, looked up, and saw Adam, his pregnant wife Jackie, and their toddler leaving. We went up to them. Adam was clearly done for the day, but his wife said, 'Honey, let me hold [toddler's name] and you can take a picture.' We handed him the camera and he took a selfie with us. Still have that picture on my fridge. Love the Sandman!"
- TOTAL NIGHTMARE: "My little cousin played one of Rob Schneider's kids in 50 First Dates. Rob was stuck-up, never got to know the children or their parents, and always went straight to his dressing room. I'm an introvert, so I like my alone time to recharge, but apparently the vibes he was giving off were that he couldn't be bothered to care about anyone else there. Also, the little girl in the movie was apparently a spoiled brat who threw tantrums and made them have to redo so many takes. I can see why Rob maybe didn't want to play with her, but the other kids were great!"
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "My husband met Rihanna years ago and said she was super nice. He was working as a ground handler at an airport and was setting up something on the ramp for her private plane. She came out, approached him, asked him about his job, and they chatted for a few minutes. Not sure if she was killing time until the gate opened, or if she went out of her way to talk to him for the heck of it, but he had nothing but nice things to say about her."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I met Jerry Springer while bartending almost 20 years ago. He was thinking of getting back into politics and had a meeting in our private dining room on the second floor. It was happy hour and the bar was packed. Someone spotted him and started chanting, 'JERRY, JERRY,' while he was about to walk up the stairs. He then came to the bar, ordered a $2 beer, walked through the entire bar, shook hands, and took pictures. When he finished the loop, he set the full beer on the bar and handed me $40. Regardless of his show, I will always think of him as a class act."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "My story is that I was actually horrible to a celebrity. In the '70s, I was obsessed with Donny and Marie. They were playing at our state fair that year. My dad tried to get tickets, but it was sold out. He took us to the fair anyway. A few times we could hear the music, which infuriated me at 7 years old. When we were leaving, my dad had to stop the car because there was a big crowd of people. As they cleared to let us through, two people popped their heads in the car window to apologize. It was Donny and Marie. I refused to believe it was really them, and I told Marie, 'You're not Marie. She's a lot prettier than you.' My family was horrified."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "Hands down nicest celebrity I've ever met was Taylor Swift. I met her at a concert as part of her security at the Houston shows. She was polite and introduced herself to everyone. She was obviously very busy, but she seemed interested in what I had to say and signed an album cover for my son."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I have been lucky enough to meet Sir Ian McKellen twice: once after a performance where I also met Simon Callow and Patrick Stewart, and once during his tour of 80 shows for turning 80. Absolutely lovely man. He is my #1 dream dinner guest. I wish I was his friend."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I did a photo-op last year at my local con with Ewan McGregor and, even though it was so quick, he was super sweet. We shook hands, and he asked how my day was. He’s gorgeous in person!"
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I met Matthew Lewis at a local con at his booth and he was lovely (and gorgeous in person). I told him how jealous my Harry Potter-obsessed sister (who was working that day) was going to be, and he told me to tell her he sent his regards! It totally made her day at work when I texted her about it after!"
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I met Pink around 2000. She performed at a teen club I was at, and she was a sweetheart. After her performance, she even danced with us for a little bit."
- TOTAL NIGHTMARE: "I’ve heard nothing but bad things from people who've met Bill Nye. One friend said he was at some children’s art show and made fun of the artwork in front of the youngsters. What a jerk."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "When I was in college in Boston, I was making a late-night Taco Bell run. As I was walking in, this white limo pulled up in front. I went inside and placed my order, and a guy in a white jumpsuit with a white bandana tied around his head came in. There weren't that many people in the restaurant, but he stopped and signed autographs and was chatting everyone up when I left. It wasn't until a few years later that I realized that person was Steven Tyler. This was in the late '80s before Aerosmith had that string of hits."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "The most genuine interaction I've ever had with a celeb was with Bert Kreischer. I saw a show (during which he mentioned his grandma was in the hospital). Then, he told the audience he would be going to the bar next door after the show if anyone wanted a picture. When he arrived at the bar, he waded through CROWDS of people and made sure everyone who wanted to was able to get a pic or a moment with him. I stayed at the bar for a drink until he was on his way out (by this time the crowd had dispersed). I called out as he passed, 'Hey, I didn't get a chance to say it before, but I hope your grandma does well.' He stopped, turned around, and had a very genuine conversation with me."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "Jason Momoa was really fun to meet in person when I saw him at a Nine Inch Nails show. Really fun guy!"
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "Jennifer Lopez. I went to where they were filming Air last year (I live in LA) because I wanted to meet Ben Affleck. I met Matt Damon as he wrapped before he left. He was a SUPER nice guy. I waited for Ben as his Escalade pulled up, but I DID NOT expect JLO to get out. She got out right next to me. She was only with her driver and he didn’t tell me to move or anything, so when she got out, I was like ‘Jen! Can I get a picture?' and she said sure. We talked about Selena because I’m Latina and she’s super important to me, and the movie means so much to me. She was SOO nice and sweet. She didn’t give any vibes that I was annoying her or that she had to Go. We also spoke in Spanish. We took our picture and then she went inside to get Ben. When they got out, Ben was NOT HAPPY (I don’t blame him. He was acting and directing), so I just stepped aside."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "In 2004, I met Tony Curtis. He exuded 'old Hollywood.' He made his way around the room, speaking to each person, and when he approached me, he extended his hand and held my hand through the entire conversation. He focused on our conversation as if there was no one else in the room. As we said goodbye (he was still holding my hand), he raised my hand to his lips and kissed it. He was dressed impeccably and was in fine form. I have had many celebrity encounters, but nothing rises to the level of Tony Curtis. Absolutely the best celebrity encounter I've ever had."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I met Sir Patrick Stewart at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando. We were both hanging out with friends in the lobby. He told stories, made lots of jokes with his friends, and included us in the conversation."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I went to college with Muhammad Ali's twin daughters. He came with them for move-in day, and they arrived in a chauffeured Rolls Royce. He was gracious and took as many pictures and signed as many autographs as people wanted. I even have a picture where he is pretending to punch me. I told him that I grew up down the street from the house he had in Chicago before he donated it to the Nation of Islam. He asked me if they were good neighbors and laughed when I told him not really."
- TOTAL NIGHTMARE: "My sister met Katy Perry at a restaurant, but she was being rude to the bartender and all the employees who came over to help, so now my niece and nephew aren't allowed to listen to her music."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I met Tori Amos, and she was an absolute sweetie pie. She hugged me and told me she liked my shirt. We spoke briefly. I was starstruck, but it made a lasting impression on me."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I grew up in a tiny town (pop. 3,000), and every year for his twins' birthday dinner, Michael J. Fox would bring his whole family to the restaurant my mom worked at. She almost always ended up being their server and she said he (and his family) were the nicest people. They were unobtrusive, friendly, and excellent tippers."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "James Earl Jones was super sweet. My father and I met him when I was young. His voice is deep, but sweet!"
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I met Dennis Quaid, and he was the nicest guy ever. We chatted about dogs for a while, and he was more than happy to take a few pictures!"
- TOTAL NIGHTMARE: "I helped host a book signing for Bobby Flay, and he's a jerk."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "Every time Dave Matthews plays at the venue across the street from our bookstore, people want to be working in the cafe because he randomly shows up for coffee the morning of his concert and gives the people waiting on him free tickets."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "Nicest celebrity I've ever met was Cole Sprouse. This was way before when he probably got sick of being on Riverdale and decided to just show his true colors. He took the photo of us together because I was shaking from nerves and excitement."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I was a bartender at the Troubadour for five years and have so many stories! Jeff Bridges was the first celeb I met. His band was playing. Before we opened, after his sound check, he made a point of coming down to us bartenders to introduce himself and thank us for helping out that night. SUCH A GEM!"
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "Jason Schwartzman came into the bar I worked in on a night that had a bunch of teenage bands playing and was super sweet to any of the kids who came up to him."
- ABSOLUTE DREAM: "When I was young, I went to an Olivia Newton-John concert. I grew up watching Grease on repeat and had always loved her. At the concert, me and another young girl were invited on stage to give her flowers and introduce ourselves. On stage, l asked to get her autograph and she told me she would after the show. Post-concert, I waited with my family to get an autograph and she invited me and my dad into her fitting room and no one else. Once back there, I was so starstruck and amazed that she remembered my name! She was so kind and took pictures with me and my dad, signed a photo, gave me the set list, and wrapped it up by giving me a hug and kiss on the cheek. She spent probably an hour with us just hanging out in her room and chatting. To this day, it's one of my most cherished memories."

2023.06.02 05:56 NeedleworkerSad357 Overview of the Blackmail Running Our World
This post is an overview of some of the blackmail tactics used to control most of the influential people and governments around the world. Obviously I cannot cover everything in a single post, so as with my previous posts I highly encourage you to research further yourself. All sources and links are at the bottom of the post. An understanding of what trauma-based mind control programming (MKULTRA/MONARCH) is, and how it works, is again necessary to understanding much of this. My other posts here:
The world is run on blackmail, mind control, and shame.
There exist many collections of videotapes of 'high-up' people engaging in some of the worst, sickest things imaginable. Drugs, torture, pedophilia, and murder are common themes to these videos. These tapes are in the hands of many different people, groups, and especially intelligence agencies. 'Honey-trap' operations are constantly being run to gather compromising and incriminating evidence on people of importance. Child slaves will be used to compromise people on video. Global leaders are often covertly videotaped doing perverted things with sex slaves sent to them by intelligence agencies, the Illuminati, or other groups, and this is then leveraged. Rape and murder of a child (forced or not), one of the most repulsive things possible, is many times filmed to ensure future compliance.
"
Back in 1966, Rothstein became the first police detective assigned to investigate the prostitution industry. Almost immediately he discovered an underground sexual blackmail operation that compromised politicians with child prostitutes. ‘Human Compromise’ is what he labelled the honey-trap process. Rothstein and his colleagues found that approximately 70 percent of top US Government leaders were compromised in this way. Rothstein said, the CIA conducted the human compromise operation, while the FBI was tasked with covering up any leaks."
"
One of the things I found out over the last ten years of studying governments and listening to intelligence and counter-intelligence is that those in government are sexually compromised, and their sexual secrets are collected and then they are promoted into governments and into judiciaries and into all the positions of importance. Paedophilia is the preferred dirt as it is easily photographed, easily presented in a range of media, immensely shameful, and the public demands your resignation."
"
Paul Bonacci, one of the victim-witnesses in the Franklin affair, also clearly stated Larry King used him in blackmail operations in New York and Washington. The latter was in connection with the activities of a close associate of Larry King, Craig Spence, who was involved in a prostitution ring consisting of underaged boys that were supplied to Washington's upper class, which went right up to the White House."
- The Reality of Protected Child Abuse Networks [11]
"
The thing about pedophilia is it holds the most shame, therefore it has the most control over judges and lawyers, and Queen's councils and politicians and ministers. Sexually bent politicians in denial of their sexuality to the public are a threat to their own country and policies. They are easily setup, photographed, politically bribed, toppled, and supported in the destruction of their country. This method of altering a country’s policies is epidemic and now endemic to politics."
"
Bob (Hope) was politically connected and knew how to lure people in and insure they would work for him. He invited them to his parties and dangled various kinds of illegal or immoral perversions in their faces. Once their perversions were uncovered, he could blackmail or control them. That is how Bob worked. Bob was very good at this. I watched him do it to people over and over. He lured them in, detected their weaknesses, then used that knowledge in his favor, for his connections, and ultimately for his personal gain."
These blackmail 'practices' are often used in conjunction with trauma-based mind control. This mind control is an integral component of, and is deeply intertwined with child trafficking, sex slavery, Satanic ritual abuse, and many other horrific crimes. Many of the children used for blackmail are programmed, and many of the people being blackmailed (including (sometimes future) politicians, leaders, presidents, etc.)
are also programmed themselves.
"
My personal belief, based on my experiences, is that over the years, more leaders were under mind control."
"
Fritz Springmeier notes that 'It is a standard tactic of the Illuminati, their New World Order and its various branches to use fear and blackmail to bring people into line.' Cheryl Beck had a 'sexy Sadie' program that was used to blackmail government and military people as a child prostitute seductress. Cathy O’Brien’s daughter Kelly was 'being prostituted to the CIA for blackmail purposes.' Svali notes that using child prostitutes to blackmail political leadership outside of the Illuminati was very common."
"
Beryl-Green said Epstein knew about MKULTRA. He was into mind-controlling victims and satanic ritual abuse (SRA). Epstein was into DNA mixing, human cloning and he knew about New World Order plans."
"
This dirty game has been honed to a fine art, which is a standard feature of the Illuminati/intelligence groups. The CIA term for blackmail is an 'OK FIX.' When they use a person’s past sins to force someone to do something they refer to this as 'biographic leverage.' Any weak point in a person can and will be exploited. Sexual entrapment for blackmail is referred to as a 'HONEY TRAP'. Black widow alters are being trained and sent out for this purpose. In order to blackmail, or threaten, you have to have something to threaten the person with. Men are frequently entrapped by sexual behavior which is criminal. Sometimes they are also entrapped by murder. The Monarch slave will be allowed to have children so that they can be blackmailed into complying to save the children or grandchildren. The Monarch slave in turn may be used to blackmail others. Certain alters are trained in this. A Monarch Beta model is highly trained in seduction. Many politicians and ministers are operating under blackmail today. The extent that blackmail is being used by the NWO would boggle people’s minds. Porn films are taken of the Monarch victims, so that they can be used to blackmail the victim. Monarch victims are forced to commit ritual murders which are photographed and then used to blackmail the mind-controlled victim."
Intelligence agencies all over the world utilize blackmail, routinely employing and exploiting it as much as possible. It is an extremely important 'tool' of theirs. Operations are done to gather the incriminating evidence.
"
Other 'neutralisations' verge on the bizarre. An individual who must remain nameless for a variety of reasons - but whose name is known to this writer - underwent an experience that is both horrific and chilling. I shall call this individual 'Mr. X' or, simply, 'X'. Mr. X was a leader of one of the largest CIA-backed Contra groups. He recently testified before the US Senate Intelligence Committee. Formerly, X was a senior executive in a South American subsidiary of a leading US soft drinks corporation. During his Senate testimony, he denied any knowledge of CIA involvement in the narcotics trade, adding that condoning such activity would have been foreign to his way of life. Not so, says Tatum. Mr. X had been recruited into the CIA by then-Director William Casey, with the assistance of Oliver North. In 1990, when Nicaraguan leader Daniel Ortega announced there would be 'free elections', X was ecstatic. He began jostling for position and asked President Bush to ensure he be given a prominent position in the new government - in return for his years of toil at the behest of the CIA and the Enterprise. The pressure came in a form that Bush could not ignore. Failure to help his friend would result in X's intimate knowledge of Bush's involvement in the dope trade being made public. His threat left Bush with a sour taste. A Pegasus team was assigned to 'neutralise' him in early 1990. Mr. X, Tatum states, 'fancied himself a lover of women. Tall, large-breasted blondes were his favourite. It was determined that, if effectively neutralised, [X] could be an asset. Therefore, it was decided that intimidation would be used to control [X].' They chose to use the drug Scopolamine, which also went by the nickname 'Burundanga' or 'the Voodoo drug'. The drug is extracted from the pods of a flowering shrub that grows in remote regions of South America. In its processed, powdered form, Scopolamine is 'void of smell, void of taste'. When properly administered 'it causes absolute obedience' without this being 'observable by others'. Importantly, the target will not recall any of the events that occurred during the period they were under the spell of the drug. Tatum states that X was invited to spend a relaxing weekend at a luxury hotel as a guest of his friend George Bush. His host for the weekend was a trusted 18-year veteran field-intelligence officer. The evening started with cocktails and was followed by a fine meal. ''Nothing but the best' were the orders.' Following the meal, he was ushered into the suite of a 'blonde bombshell' supplied by the CIA. Mr. X had already ingested a dose of Burundanga during pre-dinner cocktails. X was gallant with the blonde as they both moved into the bedroom where video cameras were already set up in one corner. In short order, the blonde had X standing naked in front of her and began to indulge his desires. All the while, the video cameras whirred. Slowly stripping off, the 'blonde' revealed his manhood in all its glory. Mr. X was instructed to reciprocate the favour and perform fellatio. He obliged, his intimate activities recorded at 24 frames a second on videotape. Tatum says the male prostitute was hired from a bar in New York and killed that same evening. Two weeks later, X - wholly unaware of the events of that evening - was visited in Nicaragua. He was presented with a copy of the video footage, along with instructions. Tatum says that X can never allow that video to be seen: 'Not only does it reveal his homosexuality, but it also reveals his bestiality and satanic worship rituals.' As frame after frame flicked by, X reportedly wept, forced to watch himself kill his homosexual 'lover' and then engage in the most grisly cannabalistic ritual imaginable. Neutralised, Mr. X became a leading member of the Nicaraguan government a few short weeks later."
"
Check out the FBI records on Scarlett: What was his original HOOK that got him so deeply embedded into UK Illuminati culture? He murdered the nanny of Lord Lucan in the 1970's. Lucan wasn't actually involved. Scarlett got it wrong. He was under mind control at the time. How we all laughed on his training sessions when we heard that one. Not funny, really. We were all in the same boat. Each had something terrible attached to us, in our past. That is all part and parcel of the Illuminati contract. Young people forced under mind control to commit murder when young and then later on, picked up by British Intelligence to be used and abused as they wished - as loyal servants of the British Crown. One can only hope that by exposing these HOOKS, that some sort of amnesty can prevail. If these people are freed from the demonic Illuminati contract by exposing their HOOKS - one can only hope that they will come forward as a sizeable and influential body of political and public figures, in order to put an end to it. Here's hoping. Check out Rimington's hook to see what sort of mind ran MI5 for so long. It's a game called 'mafia' and it is ALL about blackmail."
"
...He had previously signed off on Epstein’s 'sweetheart deal' because Epstein 'had belonged to intelligence.' Acosta, then serving as US attorney for Southern Florida, had also been told by unspecified figures at the time that he needed to give Epstein a lenient sentence because of his links to 'intelligence.'"
"
Detective Rothstein found that the CIA were behind a blackmail operation in which child prostitutes were used to honey-trap and compromise politicians, military brass, top businessmen, and key government officials. Rothstein, who arrested the key Watergate perpetrator, said Watergate solely concerned this human compromise racket, and specifically was an attempt to obtain a list of compromised pedophile VIPs and their proclivities that was held at the Democratic National Headquarters."
"
Michael Aquino was in the military. He had top Pentagon clearances. He was a pedophile. He was a Satanist. He founded the Temple of Set. And he was a close friend of Anton LaVey. The two of them were very active in ritualistic sexual abuse. And they deferred funding from this government program to use in this experimentation on children. Where they deliberately split off the personalities of these children into multiples, so that when they're questioned or put under oath or questioned under lie detector, that unless the operator knows how to question a multiple-personality disorder, they turn up with no evidence. They used these kids to sexually compromise politicians or anyone else they wish to have control of...they were taken to be used by professional pedophiles. People that have the money to buy what they want, take the kids wherever they want...and by splitting the children’s personalities they could then train each one of the personalities to do a different function. And the rest of the personalities within that host personality would not be aware of it or remember it."
- Noreen Gosch, Johnny Gosch's mother (of the 'Franklin Boys') [1]
"
Vinson also told Nick Bryant that Spence and Larry King were 'partners' and 'hooked up with the CIA', stating specifically that 'King and Spence were in business together, and their business was pedophilic blackmail.' They were transporting children all over the country. They would arrange for children to be flown into Washington, DC and also arrange for influential people in DC to be flown out to the Midwest and meet these kids. Per Vinson, Larry King had confided in him that he had clients who liked to torture and even kill children: 'King said they had clients who actually liked having sex with kids as they tortured or killed the kid. I found that totally unbelievable.' After Vinson said this to Nick Bryant, he asked Bryant later on in the interview if King’s disclosure had indeed been true. He was unaware at the time that other evidence, including witness testimony, had suggested that it was."
"
According to fugitive ex-CIA officer Frank Terpil, CIA-directed sexual blackmailing operations were intensive in Washington at about the time of the Watergate scandal. One of those operations, Terpil claims, was run by his former partner, Ed Wilson. Wilson's base of operations for arranging trysts for the politically powerful was, Terpil says, Korean agent Ton Sun Park’s George Town Club. In a letter to the author, Terpil explained that ‘Historically, one of Wilson’s Agency jobs was to subvert members of both houses [of Congress] by any means necessary. Certain people could be easily coerced by living out their sexual fantasies in the flesh...A remembrance of these occasions was permanently recorded via selected cameras...The technicians in charge of filming were TSD [Technical Services Division of the CIA]...The unwitting porno stars advanced in their political careers, some of whom may still be in office.'"

Intelligence and counter intelligence ‘work’, and they ‘work together’ to create scenarios that are so unbelievable that they cannot be published in the mainstream media, and if they are, they will appear like a joke. The information to blackmail a country, to blackmail its politicians, to blackmail its Prime Ministers and Presidents, to blackmail its judges and lawyers is a very serious matter."
The Illuminati and other cults also engage in the same blackmail operations. There is a
huge overlap between secret societies/cults and intelligence, with top intelligence usually being run by them. All of them do this.
"
I was able to have first hand access to the Jeffrey Epstein case investigation documents. According to the documents, Epstein was the head of a global fraternity related to the Shriners called The Royal Order of Jesters. This order is covered with scandals and lawsuits related to human trafficking, but they are very protected because many members of the order are high-profile political figures and businessmen. It is crazy how these people manage to operate under the radar for so many years, decades...Now you may ask how they do this? Easy...By using blackmail tactics, they manage to have Judges and Law Enforcement licking their feet. That's how Jeffery Epstein got assassinated. After he was out of the game, the whole business is run by other people. Major names are involved and many high-profile people who are all bound to the order by means of blackmail. This is particularly disturbing when you find out that the cases of Catholic priests involved in sex scandals are events organized by The Order of Jesters. They run blackmail operations with the purpose of seducing people in power...With those videos in their power, the careers and the public image of many people are in the Jester's hands. They are free to do anything, they can turn even the President of the United States into a slave."
-- "Jeffrey Epstein Post" [7]
"
Illuminati 'FROG ON A LILYPAD' programming: The FROG as a paedophile - with no 'tadpole tail/tale', as in no memory of what he/she has done until they get past 40 years old. It becomes clear that so many people were forced to be paedophiles and to abuse their children - only to wake up to all of this later on - post 40 years old. Then to have Stella Rimington on their doorstep with a videotape - telling them that she will send it to the police if they do not do precisely what she says. The ultimate blackmail weapons combined: A tape of you committing paedophilia - and even worse - incest with your own children. Guaranteed to 'silence' most people for life. The scope of this Illuminati blackmail project has been immense, in British society and it has to be exposed. There is safety in numbers."
"
(Sue) Arrigo adds that the kids with the most smarts and/or looks, about 5% are skimmed off the top by the Luciferians in charge like the Bushes and used as either spies or corporate sex slaves or both. They’re typically pimped out on high priced loans to influential politicians as house boy and girls to ensure the puppets in Congress are happy and blackmail-able for control."
"
The Masonic leadership of Freemasonry in a given area will have thousands of 'blackmail' files on essentially everyone of importance in their area. Upper echelon people such as judges, lawyers, and politicians are generally controlled via IRS infringements, and many of the lower echelon people are controlled through weird sexual items. This is where the Delta and Beta Monarch slaves are so helpful to the Illuminati. (This information comes from several witnesses who are informed about the blackmail files & their methods for blackmailing.)"
These people are already in power, and have set their system up so that nobody rises to a prominent, powerful, or influential position without being selected, extensively compromised, controllable, and usually under mind control. They are all 'in it together', and because of this they protect eachother. Most have 'insurance' on one another.
"
The most common phrase associated with that one was ‘talk about the pot calling the kettle black’, meaning that each Illuminati slave had been caught on camera and from an early age – doing something terrible – as Rimington was fond of saying ‘we are all as bad as each other and all in it together.’"
"
Oftentimes when I and others were prostituted to various government (New World Order) leaders, Dante had hidden cameras filming perverse sexual acts apparently for future blackmail leverage. These videos were scandalous in proportion and were usually ordered by Reagan. Dante turned the videos over to Reagan, and covertly kept copies to protect himself. Dante converted a small room of his Beverly Hills mansion into a security vault, where he kept his personal copies of the international blackmail porn tapes there. Blackmail was openly initiated to ensure that each criminal participant understood that if one fell, they all fell. Maintaining 'dirt' on each other through this Mafia-style method was seemingly the only way these criminals implementing the New World Order kept each other 'honest.'"
"
The Watergate break-in was strictly based on one thing - the pedophile records that were being kept at the Democratic National Headquarters."
- Detective James Rothstein (NYPD, Retired) [6]
"
In 1972, Rothstein arrested one of the five Watergate burglars, CIA operative Frank Sturgis. During a subsequent two-hour interrogation, Rothstein discovered the truth about Watergate (plus Sturgis’ and the CIA’s involvement in the Bay of Pigs incident, and the related assassination of JFK). Sturgis told Rothstein, the Watergate burglars sought something they nicknamed ‘The Book’ which listed the Democratic and Republican politicians who accessed child prostitutes, their sexual proclivities, the amounts they paid to rape kids, etc."
There are certain places known for this, two famous examples being Little St. James island or Bohemian Grove (there are many, many others).
"
For those of you who are interested in Bohemian Grove and the current list upon the Internet of those poor unsuspecting 'invitees' who will be pressganged into going (and subsequently blackmailed out of their minds afterwards, by the Illuminati)...the entrapment going on at Bohemian Grove is of an avaricious and esoteric nature - in relation to all of those unlucky 'invitees' who want to join this 'prestigious club' but then get videoed doing things that they wouldn't want anyone to know about - 'guests' who are then subsequently blackmailed out of their brains...and for the rest of their lives. But then that was what the Illuminati cult and their Sat B'hai contract has always been about...promising that you would get everything for nothing (if you agreed to be unquestioningly obedient to the Crown) and that you would now be part of an 'esoteric' prestigious Satanic club."
"
Numerous videos are covertly produced at the supposedly secure political sex playground in northern California, Bohemian Grove. High tech undetectable cameras use fiber optics, and fish-eye lenses were in each of the elite club's numerous sexual perversion theme rooms. I was programmed and equipped to function in all rooms at Bohemian Grove in order to compromise specific government targets according to their personal perversions. 'Anything, anytime, anywhere with anyone' was my mode of operation at the Grove. My perception is that Bohemian Grove serves those ushering in the New World Order through mind control, and consists primarily of the highest Mafia and U.S. Government officials. Project Monarch mind controlled slaves were routinely abused there to fulfill the primary purpose of the club: purveying perversion. Bohemian Grove is reportedly intended to be used recreationally, providing a supposedly secure environment for politically affluent individuals to 'party' without restraint. The only business conducted there pertained to implementing the New World Order, through the proliferation of mind-control atrocities, giving the place an air of 'Masonic Secrecy'. The only room where business discussions were permitted was the small, dark lounge affectionately and appropriately referred to as the Underground. The wooden sign was carved to read: 'U.N.DERGROUND'. My purpose at the Grove was sexual in nature, and therefore my perceptions were limited to a sex slave's viewpoint. As an effective means of control to ensure undetected proliferation of their perverse indulgences, slaves such as myself were subjected to ritualistic trauma. Slaves of advancing age or with failing programming were sacrificially murdered 'at random' in the wooded grounds of Bohemian Grave, and I felt it was 'simply a matter of time until it would be me'. Rituals were held at a giant, concrete owl monument on the banks of the Russian River. These occultish sex rituals stemmed from the scientific belief that mind-controlled slaves required severe trauma to ensure compartmentalization of the memory. I witnessed the sacrificial death of a young, dark-haired victim at which time I was instructed to perform sexually 'as though my life depended upon it'. I was told, 'The next sacrifice victim could be you.' The club offered a 'Necrophilia' themed room to its members. I was so heavily drugged and programmed when used in the 'necrophilia' room, that the threat of actually 'slipping through death's door' and being sacrificed 'before I knew it' did not affect me. Other perversion theme rooms at the Bohemian Club included what I heard Ford refer to as the 'Dark Room'. When he not so cleverly said, 'Let's go to the Dark Room and see what develops,' I understood from experience that he was interested in indulging in his perverse obsession for pornography. In the Dark Room, members had sex with the same mind-controlled slave they were viewing in porn on a big screen television. There was a triangular glass display centered in a main through way where I was locked in with various trained animals, including snakes. Members walking by watched illicit sex acts of bestiality, women with women, mothers with daughters, kids with kids, or any other unlimited perverse visual display. I was once brutally assaulted by Dick Cheney in the Leather Room, which was designed like a dark, black leather-lined train berth. There was a room of shackles and tortures, black lights and strobes, an opium den, ritualistic sex altars, a chapel, group orgy rooms including poster beds, water beds, and 'kitten' houses. I was used as a 'rag doll' in the 'toy store,' and as a urinal in the 'golden arches' room. From the owl's roost to the necrophilia room, no memory of sexual abuse is as horrifying as the conversations overheard in the Underground pertaining to implementing the New World Order. I learned that perpetrators believed that controlling the masses through propaganda mind manipulation did not guarantee there would be a world left to dominate due to environmental and overpopulation problems. The solution being debated was not pollution/population control, but mass genocide of 'selected undesirables'."
News 'headlines' with hidden symbolic communication are also used by intelligence and other groups, many times referring to blackmail (among the many other varieties of covert operations).
"
'Nuclear' is a comm used all over the world to symbolize extraordinarily explosive information, like blackmail. Which is why if we reconcile blackmail with news about nuclear, a secret truth will become clear. The two most powerful blackmailers ever? That would probably be Jeffrey Epstein and Hugh Hefner. And this is why the deaths of blackmailers like Hugh Hefner and Jeffrey Epstein both coincided with 'Nuclear Accidents':"
08/09/2019 Is Putin covering up a Nuclear disaster? - 08/09/2019 = Russia Hides a Nuclear Accident!
- 08/10/2019 = CIA Blackmailer Epstein Dead
- 09/26/2017 = Russia Hides a Nuclear Accident!
- 09/27/2017 = CIA Blackmailer Hefner Dead
09/26/2017 Nuclear explosion kept secret by Russia "
Why are CIA blackmailers dying the day after Russia declares nuclear accidents? The reason for the -1 day in Epstein’s case is they likely died before the official day, and these comms were to give agents a heads up on the upcoming BOOM before it hits papers. In Hefners case they had to signal people to move the blackmail. The point as stated is a lot of 'nuclear' is all about blackmail. Not all of it, but a lot of it."
- "Symbolic Communication" [9]
Blackmail is a worldwide 'practice', with all countries and their governments engaging in aquiring and utilizing it to the fullest.
"
Just as the 1986 Mirano scandal, the X-Dossiers contain evidence that sexual blackmail operations, whoever is running them, are not limited to the United States. In 1996, X1 reported how the same activities had been going on in Brussels."
"
As the bewildered Belgians tried to make sense of what was going on, incredible rumours began circulating that Dutroux might have been protected in some way, that he had friends in high places. Pornographic videos taken from his home were said to feature prominent individuals, one a senior member of the Roman Catholic church. It almost defied belief. Who would protect a psychopath, other than people with something truly terrible to hide?...'It is quite obvious,' said Katarin de Clercq, Belgian coordinator of the pressure group End Child Prostitution Abduction and Trafficking, 'that some people were protecting Dutroux. The government tried to convince us that he was a lone serial killer and psychopath, but now we hear stories about unnamed famous personalities being involved in sex orgies and blackmail and pornographic video tapes. People feel that something is completely wrong here and we have to show we will not tolerate it.'"

"
I was unfortunate enough to attend the IHS Templar Castle rite in 2001. Amongst the people in attendence were: J. K. Rowling. Gordon Brown. David Miliband. Stephen Daldry. Stella Rimington (she was the Dr. Mengele of the organisation, organising the torture and murder of kidnapped children). Dr. Joanne Collie. Andrew Marr (he spent most of the time naked and screaming - off his head on some form of narcotic). John Scarlett (he was so drunk/drugged up that he had very little idea of what was going on around him). The Templars had captured a large amount of people whom they called the 'snakes' i.e. slaves in a large dungeon underneath the castle. One brave person managed to set them free and the result in the neighbouring village of Mons and other places nearby, ensured that the British Army had to move in. Thus began the most incredible cover-up in recent European history. It was like WACO, Guyana. I was one of the 'slaves' taken at that castle but subsequently freed by the British Army (who also know what happened - a MASSIVE cover-up). The British Army ordered those in the Castle to come out. They then sent a tank in to bulldoze the walls. Prince Philip and Prince William were in that Castle. Both of them had murdered countless tiny children in their rites. The British Army assembled watched as both walked out with large, dark, woven potato sacks over their heads. They were then bundled into a van and driven away. The name SPUDNIKS was coined because Prince Philip and Prince William had to exit the castle with potato sacks pulled down over their heads and bodies. The British Army present at the time - may or may not have had any idea who they were but the SIS general there, certainly did. They might have managed to cover it up regarding the ordinary soldiers there but the videotapes are now on sale worldwide. The whole event had been closely monitored for blackmail purposes."
The CIA also blackmails incestual/pedophilic parents for their children to use in trauma-based mind control slave projects like
MONARCH.
"
My Uncle Bob, also implicated in manufacturing the porn, out of apparent desperation informed my father of a U.S. Government Defense Intelligence Agency TOP SECRET Project to which he was privy. This was Project Monarch. Project Monarch was a mind-control operation which was 'recruiting' multigenerational incest abused children with Multiple Personality Disorder for its genetic mind-control studies. I was a prime 'candidate,' a 'chosen one'. My father seized the opportunity as it would provide him immunity from prosecution."
"
The expendables are the children of parents who were blackmailed into turning their children over to the CIA. This is all hidden by the power of the National Security Act. These are children, who have been sold by pedophile fathers, or pornographic parents. The programmers/masters program them with the expectation that they will be "thrown from the freedom train" when they get to age 30. (Freedom Train is the code word for the Monarch trauma-based mind-control. To be thrown from the Freedom Train means to be killed.) The CIA and the Illuminati are skilled at blackmailing parents to give up their children. They would watch the mail for porn. Pedophile and murderers who abuse their children are warned that they will go to prison for long lengths of time if they do not cooperate by selling their children into mind-controlled slavery. In return for the parent’s cooperation, they provide rich financial rewards to the parent(s). It’s clearly a case of 'if you don’t cooperate you lose in life big time, if you do cooperate you win big time.'"
Blackmail is the glue holding all of the sick people in charge together, one of the top methods of control.
This is the truth. Blackmail, pedophilia, and mind control are how this world is really run. "
Former CIA director William Colby giving advice to John DeCamp, urging him to quit his investigations into the Franklin child abuse affair:"
"
'What you have to understand, John, is that sometimes there are forces and events too big, too powerful, with so much at stake for other people or institutions, that you cannot do anything about them, no matter how evil or wrong they are and no matter how dedicated or sincere you are or how much evidence you have. This is simply one of the hard facts of life you have to face.'"
- The Reality of Protected Child Abuse Networks [11]
"
Again, it’s built in, entrenched foxes guarding the predatory henhouse that permeate all levels of government, military, courts, law enforcement, entertainment and news media, corporate global finance and education. With pedophile puppet masters controlling the pedophile puppet strings of blackmailed, compromised and controlled Western politicians, courts and law enforcement, their diabolical infrastructure has afforded them living above the law continuing to rape and kill our innocents for centuries."

2023.06.01 18:19 akcoder123 nature vs nurture essay
Hello! 10th grade student in ontario. This essay is worth 30% percent of my grade and i want to do my best! Please tell me what you think and what you would rate it. I am writing this argumentatively using supportive opinion paragraphs made of subtopic-point-proof-analysis-conclusion method.
** I am worried abt grammar, use of semicolons, and the line "Nature versus nurture is an enduring debate dating back centuries, argued by many famous scientists and philosophers in history - notably Plato and Descartes, who believed that behavior was inbred and organic to human structure. Correspondingly, it can be argued that personalities cannot be inculcated in a person but are innate. " in particular.
Nature Versus Nurture
Nature versus nurture is a long-standing debate over the true determinant of how personality is formed and how the human mind works, with nature being the winning force, shaping the fabric of human disposition. In relation to this, the book And The Mountains Echoed, and the television shows Hannibal and Better Call Saul illustrate the following ideas: primal and intrinsic characteristics are unaffected by external influences; personalities cannot be inculcated in a person but are instead innate; people revert to their base instincts when pressed. These ideas prove that in the discussion of nature versus nurture, nature reigns supreme, wielding its power over the fundamental genetic traits that mold humanity and define the very essence of human existence.
To begin, primal intrinsic instincts are unaffected by external influences. Regardless of the strength of the influence or environment, a person’s true nature and hereditary traits will be impervious to change. A compelling example of this can be found in the television show Hannibal, whose title character is a brilliant psychiatrist and a cannibalistic psychopath (Hannibal). Hannibal began experiencing homicidal inclinations at a young age, indicating his nascent psychopathy, which fully manifested when he willfully ate his sister’s remains after her death ("Digestivo"). Despite later being adopted by his loving uncle, studying fine arts and medicine, and living the rest of his adolescence in the lap of luxury, Hannibal’s urges were ineffaceable, and he used his anatomical knowledge as a tool to kill and consume more people ("Oeuf"). Despite genuinely loving his sister and mourning her after her death, Hannibal could not deny himself his inherent psychopathic urges and consumed her. Though he eventually left his home to pursue his studies and escape growing suspicion from local authorities, changing careers from surgery to psychiatry and experiencing different environments, he remained unchanged and guiltlessly continued murdering and cannibalizing peers and strangers alike. Although Hannibal’s love for his sister was genuine and he was well cared for by his uncle, his surroundings and influences could not suppress his innate psychopathy and character, exemplifying the power that nature exerts over fundamental human traits.
Nature versus nurture is an enduring debate, argued by many famous scientists and philosophers in history - notably Plato and Descartes, who believed that behavior was inbred and organic to human structure. Correspondingly, it can be argued that personalities cannot be inculcated in a person but are innate. Human personalities are passed down through generations through genetics and are unshaken by outside pressures. This can be observed in the case of Pari in the novel And the Mountains Echoed. Pari was an Afghan-born girl who was adopted away from her village by a wealthy family and taken to France, all at a very young age (Hosseini 90). Pari’s adoptive mother was a rebellious, troubled, and romantic woman, as well as a talented poet; traits she tried to instill in Pari, who rejected the influence and grew into a humble and family-oriented individual, aligning with the characteristics also exhibited by her biological brother (Hosseini). Though Pari had no memory of her childhood in Afghanistan or of her birth family, she still developed personality traits similar to them due to their passing down through her genetic lineage, leading her to develop her identity and resist her adoptive mother’s attempts to alter it. Pari’s experience supports the claim that personalities resist external influences because they are formed from inherent and natural traits, which hold the most power over the formation of human temperament.
Finally, people revert to their base instincts when pressed. An individual’s base characteristics and natural traits will present themselves in moments of stress or when making snap decisions, often overriding learned behaviors and other external factors and influences. Jimmy "Slippin’ Jimmy" McGill, from Better Call Saul, is a perfect example of this: a clever scam artist turned corrupt criminal lawyer. Jimmy strived to be a law-abiding citizen and uphold a moral code (Better Call Saul) but often manipulated courts, clients, and evidence if he felt it necessary, resorting to immoral schemes and deception when pressed, as he learned to do during his time as a con artist ("Fall"). Jimmy’s instinctual responses to challenging situations voided his attempts to improve himself, instead proving his unchangeability to his loved ones, who correctly believed he could not overcome his nature. Jimmy’s inability to truly alter his innate instincts demonstrates the sheer strength of nature.
As evidenced in Hannibal’s, Pari’s, and Jimmy’s experiences, base characteristics are unaffected and unsuppressed by external influences, as are personalities, and these fundamental character traits always rise to the surface in a person when pressed, thereby proving that nature, thanks to its power over the underlying genetic features that shape people, overpowers external factors and reigns triumphant in the age-old debate between nature and nurture. Humanity is formed by the hands of nature, with biological factors predominantly molding human disposition and the way the human mind functions.

2023.06.01 14:55 wisdom_and_frivolity Street Fighter Glossary, the words/phrases you need to know to join in community discussions!
Street Fighter Glossary
Shoutouts and sources: THE FIGHTING GAME GLOSSARY,
The New Challenger team Boxer
A common name for the Street Fighter character Balrog. We aren't just describing his profession for fun, though; his Japanese name is M. Bison, so we need a clear way to describe which character we're referring to. See also Dictator and Claw.
Claw
A common name for the Street Fighter character Vega. Because the Japanese call this character Balrog, we often use this more general name when discussing him so there's less confusion. It's a problem that exists due to a triple name swap between three characters in the Japanese and English versions of SF, the other two being Dictator and Boxer.
Counter
Often used as shorthand for counter hit, especially if you are reading an on-screen message during a fight.
It's also a move that looks to catch an incoming attack, deflect it away, and automatically launch a counter-attack. You'll sometimes hear it called a "catch counter". You might just get one hit that sends the opponent flying, but some counters will let you get a full combo if it works. Lots of games have counters, from Street Fighter to Killer Instinct to Tekken to virtually every sword character in Super Smash Bros. It's kind of like parrying, except you don't return to neutral or get to choose your next attack.
Counter can also be used in the general English sense, as a technique that specifically wins against another technique. For example, you can counter pick your character matchup. Or you might say "that move is a hard counter to my strategy" if it stops everything you're trying to do.
Critical Art
The Street Fighter V-specific term for a super.
Crush Counter
A unique counter hit state specific to Street Fighter V that leads to highly damaging combos. If you counter hit your opponent with certain heavy attacks (each character will have their own list of Crush Counter moves), they will violently spin around as a glass-shattering sound effect plays, and they'll get put in a ton of hit stun. Many characters will be able to dash forward and still continue the combo with something beefy.
You can think of them kind of like a "super" counter hit, but tied to specific moves. SFV also tags dragon punches as counter-hittable during their recovery, which means you can wind up with your crush counter move and earn a huge punish when you block one.
Delayed Wakeup
The ability to slightly extend how long you stay on the ground after you've been knocked down. This is different from soft knockdown vs. hard knockdown, where you either rise immediately or stay on the ground for a set amount of time. In games with delayed wakeup, you can choose to make your hard knockdown ever so slightly longer, in the hopes that your opponent won't be able to easily meaty you or otherwise run their planned set play. Games like Ultra Street Fighter IV and Mortal Kombat 11 implement delayed wakeup.
Demon Flip
One of Akuma's trademark special moves; he jumps up into the air while performing a front flip, and then can choose several different unique attacks on the way down, including a divekick, a low attack, and a throw.
Dictator
A common name for the Street Fighter character M. Bison. We have to call him this because, in Japan, they call him Vega, so this helps us be clear about which character we're talking about. We have this same problem with Boxer and Claw.
Drive Impact
The character will garner armor that can absorb an incoming hit. Players can perform this technique by pressing R1+R2 (or just L1 if you're using simplified controls) and it costs one bar of your Drive Gauge.
Source Drive Parry
Players can simply hold down medium kick and medium punch to activate Drive Parry, which continually depletes the Drive Gauge until the buttons are released. If an incoming attack is successfully parried, the character will repel the foe's attack and some of their Drive Gauge will be replenished. Players can aim to perform a "Perfect" parry by activating this at the precise moment an incoming attack lands, which will net them some kind of additional bonus.
Source Drive Rush
Characters cancel out of animations early with a forward dash, presumably enabling them to perform otherwise impossible combos. This can also be performed from a Drive Parry, in which case its cost is reduced from three Drive Gauge bars to only one. This is done simply by double tapping forward while the animation for either a cancelable normal attack or Drive Parry is going on.
Source Drive Reversal
Similar to Alpha Counters/V-Reversals seen in Street Fighter Alpha and Street Fighter 5, respectively. Pressing forward and R1+R2 while blocking an attack will activate Drive Reversal, which causes your character to perform a counter attack that does little damage but that can give you some breathing room to get off of the defensive. Using this maneuver costs two bars from your gauge.
Source Overdrive
Which is essentially the Street Fighter 6 way of describing an EX move. Every character has a few special attacks unique to them, and players can give said specials additional enhancements (such as more damage, invincibility, further reach, faster speed) by performing the "Overdrive" version. This is performed by pressing two of the same button instead of just one when doing a special attack. For instance, if Ryu throws his trademark Hadoken special (quarter circle forward + a punch) he might enhance it by pressing two punches. Overdrive costs two bars from your Drive Gauge.
Source EX Move
A more powerful version of a special move, enhanced by spending some super meter. These moves have better properties than the base version of the special move, which may include more invincibility, more damage, or faster startup. The character often glows a different color, like yellow, while performing an EX move, just to make it extra clear what's happening.
Flash Kick
An invincible charge move made famous from Guile in Street Fighter. Hold down, or down-back, for about a second and then hit up plus a kick button to fly into the air foot first. It's a very common reversal and anti-air, but because it's a charge move, it needs more planning to use than a dragon punch.
Frame Trap
Two attacks back-to-back that leave a very small gap between them. The gap will be shorter than the defender's fastest attack, which means if they try to attack with a normal, they will get counter hit. Finding effective frame traps requires some basic understanding of frame data (or finding a good Youtube tutorial that has done the work for you!); you'll usually be looking for an attack that is plus on block, which lets you attack before your opponent afterwards, then swinging with a fast attack that "traps" your opponent who foolishly thought they could swing themselves.
Frame traps aren't foolproof, though. You can usually just continue to block and be fine until your opponent gets pushed out of range. Or, if you're feeling risky, you can try to get through the opponent's attack with an invincible reversal, which doesn't care about your opponent's pesky frame advantage.
Gap
How long your character has returned to neutral in between blocking (or getting hit by) two attacks. Like all discussions of time in fighting games, it's measured in frames. While you're in neutral, you can take any action, but be careful! If you are only in neutral for a few brief frames, there are some actions you won't want to take, especially if your opponent is looking to do a frame trap.
If your character blocks two attacks and there is no gap at all, we'll call that a true block string or say the offense is tight (it's also quite related to the Tekken concept of jailing). Sometimes players will just ask "is there a gap in that string?" just so they know whether they even have the option to do anything except block. Maybe if there's a gap they'll sometimes try a reversal to escape.
Gimmick
Also known as: Oki-Doke A plan of attack that requires either the element of surprise or a lack of knowledge from your opponent to work. The term is often meant in a negative way towards a strategy that wouldn't possibly work against well-prepared opponents, or something that can only work in the short term until your opponent understands the trick.
The term can also refer to a player who uses one linear but mostly effective strategy to beat lower skilled opponents, but who loses convincingly, with no backup strategy, when playing against better players who can defend properly. It may sound like gimmicks are kinda bad, but there's no better feeling in fighting games than to hit someone with a good one.
Gouki
The Japanese name for Akuma. Like with Vega, M. Bison and Balrog, there are some naming differences between some characters in the Japanese and English versions.
Hadouken
The specific name for Ryu and Ken's fireballs in the Street Fighter series, but it can be used to talk about any generic, forward-traveling projectile that is not a charge move.
Hit Confirm
Performing an attack, seeing that your attack successfully hit, and then reacting to this information by continuing the combo. That is to say, you "confirm" that your first attack hit before you launch further attacks, and if the attack was blocked instead, you stop and don't follow through with anything else. This is important because, usually, you will be canceling into a move that would be unsafe if it was blocked, so you only want to do it if it won't get you killed.
In some games this can be a pretty advanced skill, since you might not have a ton of time to recognize if your attack hit or not. In really fast cases, good players may even employ special tricks, like looking at the opponent's health bar or using special audio cues, to help them react as fast as they can.
Knockdown
Being knocked off your feet and landing on your back. Certain attacks commonly cause knockdowns, like sweeps, throws, many special moves, and in some games, simply getting hit out of the air. There are generally two types of knockdowns, hard knockdowns and soft knockdowns, which describe how long you have to lie on the ground before you can get up and fight again, and what options you may have (if any) while standing up.
Mixup
A situation where the offensive player has several ways to attack that each require a different defensive action to stop (such as blocking in different directions and avoiding throws).
Okizeme
Also known as: Oki The moment during a fighting game when your opponent is knocked down and you get to attack them as they stand back up. The defender's options are limited, so the offensive player gets to attack with all sorts of mixups or apply any mind game they choose. Some options include attacking with a basic meaty, doing a cross-up, or trying to bait their opponent's desperate dragon punch by simply doing nothing and blocking.
Okizeme (pronounced oh-kee-zeh-meh and often shortened to "oki") means "wake up offense" in Japanese, so the term mostly focuses on the offensive choices. If you hear someone ask "what's the oki going to be?", they are wondering what method of attack (or non-attack) the offensive player will choose to assert their advantage. It's closely related to the term wakeup, although that tends to focus more on the defensive choices (you might hear "I can't believe they did a wakeup DP!").
If someone asks "do I get oki after this move?", they're asking whether that move leaves them close enough, and with enough time, to threaten multiple different offensive options. Moves that "don't give you oki" will leave you far away and mostly end your offensive pressure.
Plink
An input trick where you press two different buttons on two consecutive frames. If you use an arcade stick, the best way to do this is to "drum" two different fingers across the two buttons extremely quickly. It will kind of feel a bit like a piano input. It's often notated with a ~, so pressing MP and then LP right after would be MP~LP.
Poke
An attack that's thrown out to occupy the space in front of you and remind your opponent not to try and come closer. Usually, this is a far-reaching and safe normal move with little risk. Pokes are often used to harass your opponent into doing something stupid, not unlike prodding a bear with a stick. If you use a poke to hit your opponent's poke, that's called a "counter poke".
Raging Demon
An iconic super for Akuma (and related "Evil" characters) in many Street Fighter titles. Akuma travels forward and grabs you, the screen goes dark, and after some rapid-fire hits in the darkness, you appear knocked out on the ground. Akuma then poses with his back to the camera.
Reversal
Reversal - An action taken on the first frame after your character recovers, such as after getting knocked down or exiting block stun. Sometimes conflated with "invincible reversal", an attack with invincible properties during startup.
%%%Shimmy Tricking someone into thinking you're going to throw them by walking close, and then, at the last second, walking backwards out of range so they whiff a throw tech attempt like a dummy. You can then pummel them with a huge punish.
Shoryuken
The specific name for Ryu and Ken's dragon punches in the Street Fighter series, but it's used to talk about any generic uppercut-looking move in pretty much any fighting game. Very often shortened to just "shoryu".
Shoto
An archetype in the Street Fighter series for a character that has a fireball, a shoryuken, and a tatsu. Their main gameplan is to play solid footsies with fireballs and pokes, and then uppercut you when you jump at them. Ryu, Ken, and Akuma are the quintessential shotos that appear in virtually every Street Fighter title.
Sonic Boom
A specific type of projectile that travels horizontally and is traditionally input using a charge command. Notably, they have considerably faster recovery than a fireball, but needing to have charge to throw one really limits the situations in which you can use them. Sonic Boom is the specific name of Guile's famous projectile, but it will often refer to any projectile with very little recovery.
Spam
Using one attack over and over again. Calling something "spam" or someone a "spammer" is the hallmark cry of the scrub, who is unwilling to find a strategy to beat any attack that hits them, no matter how telegraphed it is. Fighting game veterans will still use this term, but mostly in jest, or to give praise to a legitimate strategy. If you think someone is bad for using one move repeatedly to beat you, I'd recommend looking inwards and re-evaluating your strategy and game knowledge before lashing out. You might save a bit of embarrassment and you'll probably improve at the game at the same time.
Spinning Piledriver
A classic Zangief command throw in the Street Fighter series, executed with a 360 motion. Zangief grabs you, jumps high in the air while spinning, and then slams you into the ground. Commonly abbreviated to SPD. It also is a catch-all term for any grappler's command throw executed with a 360, across virtually any game.
Stagger
Stagger can also be used in its more common English meaning to describe attacks that are slightly delayed or off-beat from each other. Basically, you leave gaps between your attacks in tricky and unpredictable ways so your opponent thinks they're free to attack, then you smoke them with a devastating counter hit. You might hear something like "he staggered that heavy punch" or "nice stagger pressure" to indicate this.
Tatsu
The name of a shoto special move where the character travels forward with their foot extended, usually spinning like a top while doing so. It is sometimes called "Hurricane Kick" in English, but many in the community call it "tatsu", a shortened version of the Japanese name. Tatsus are often briefly projectile invincible which can help you win fireball wars, and they're often good combo enders too.
Tech
Most commonly is shorthand for a throw tech. It can also refer to the act of quick rising after being knocked down, as in "you should tech when you hit the ground". In Smash Bros. in particular, teching when you hit the ground lets you stand up in place or roll either left or right, which is super important for trying to escape offense.
It can also refer to recovering in the air after you've been hit by an air combo. Or, if all these definitions aren't enough, it's also used to talk about cool new strategies developed for a character, like "did you see that new Ryu tech posted to Twitter?" Confused at why so many fighting game terms have ambiguous meanings? You're not alone.
TO
Stands for Tournament Organizer. It's the main person in charge of running your favorite event, which could mean things like booking the venue, deciding which games to run, seeking out sponsors, and everything in between. Most TOs have a team of people working with them to make the event run smoothly, but they are kind of the front-facing entity of the tournament.
V-Reversal
A defensive mechanic in Street Fighter V that lets you attack while blocking. You consume one stock of your "V-Gauge" (which is also shared for use with your V-Trigger), and your character will do an attack which is invincible to all hits but can be thrown. Usually, your character will knock the opponent out of the way, dealing some gray life while you get some breathing space.
V-Shift
A Street Fighter V mechanic that lets you defensively dodge an attack and follow up with a counter-attack. For the cost of 1 V-Gauge bar (a meter also shared with doing V-Reversals and V-Triggers), pressing MK + HP in neutral will perform a V-Shift. You will emit a blue aura and do an invincible backdash, slowing down time if your opponent happened to attack at the same time.
V-Shift Break
An automatic follow-up attack you can perform after you successfully dodge an attack with V-Shift. By pressing MK+HP (again) during the slow-motion dodge animation, your character will lunge forward with a basic punch or kick that keeps your full invincibility from the V-Shift, causes a knockdown and deals some gray life. It's a way for you to get some breathing space if you don't have a good invincible attack to follow up with, like a dragon punch or a super, or you are worried about being out of range of those attacks. It's a slow attack, but fortunately it will be safe if it's blocked.
V-Skill
A character-specific Street Fighter V technique, activated by pressing medium punch and medium kick together. You can basically think of it like an alternate special move that builds your V-Gauge (used for V-Reversals and V-Trigger) if it connects with your opponent.
V-Trigger
A central comeback mechanic in Street Fighter V. Your "V-Gauge" fills up as you take damage or successfully use your V-Skill, and when it's full, you can activate your V-Trigger, which usually powers up your character in a unique way for a good length of time (or, for some fighters, it is just simply a strong one-time use move with no powerup).
Wakeup
The act of rising from the ground after you've been knocked down. Since you are usually invincible when you are on the ground, there's a specific period of time when you become hittable again; this moment in time and the decisions around it from both players comprise the "wakeup game".

2023.06.01 04:56 Madnapali [Follow-Up] 19,891 Miles in One Year Review - 2022 P2 DMLR Pilot/Plus
Hello friends, I'm back! I put off posting this since I have seen a few others of this nature, and figured I would just hold off until I had more data. Not a whole lot has changed, really.
Original Post including edits
About the Dehumidifier - note that as of 2.2 or 2.3 this seems to work when eco climate is active
Long Trip with My Family That Time My Charger Melted - update to this... it was a loose connection. Oops. The Lectron charger from Amazon is still going strong and I'm pretty happy with the 16 amps. It's all I need.
Same as last time, we are going to start with the gripes!
If something was a gripe in the last post and isn't below, I either no long care, or they fixed it. I'll remark on a few of them after this section.
- Honestly... my biggest gripe with the car is that the steering wheel needs to telescope out at least another inch. This is only so high because it's basically the only thing I can think of, aside from interior space, that can't be fixed via software updates. I have chronic back issues that have been better since getting the car due to how adjustable the seat is. But I feel a bit too far away from the wheel.
- The app is missing a lot of no-brainer features and it's SLOW AS HELL. Can't open the trunk. Must set a timer to precondition the battery. Can't get trip/mileage details, or anything like that. Also as of 2.9 I have had intermittent PaaK issues when I never did before.
- Even though I've never had a car with a reverse camera before this, yes I agree with everyone else that loading the camera takes way too long.
- I'm still baffled and annoyed that there isn't a play/pause button on the steering wheel... BUT THERE IS A BUTTON THAT DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
- Similar to above, no clock on the instrument panel. I've adjusted to it but still just really irks me.
Android and phone shenanigans - Yes, still no album art over bluetooth. It's whatever to me by this point but still worth mentioning.
- The issues with sending texts is still ongoing. This seems to be entirely me, or my phone (Nokia XR20) as I've seen no one else here mention anything about it ever.
- Android Auto(motive) still has absolutely no idea what to do with MMS messages and I don't even bother trying to play or reply to group chats.
- Recently, and intermittently, incoming calls don't go through the car, and I have to pick up my phone, answer it, and then it goes through Bluetooth media. This is big oof to me. I have fully re-paired my phone once already.
- I challenge everyone else to give the car a voice command to navigate to an address with street number 5555. Dead serious here, go do it.
Updates to the good stuff, and comments on things that have been solved
- My TCAM issues were never debilitating, but they seem to have completely disappeared over the past few updates.
- They enhanced the charging curve, and I've only fast charged a couple of times since the update. It's not blazing fast but much easier to take advantage of our 30mins free charging.
- I've gotten used to the 1PD, it's fine.
- We have plenty of in-car entertainment options now.... I watched an hour of Top Gun: Maverick on Epix while stopping to charge twice during my Christmas commute. It worked fine and the screen serves well. That's it though, I haven't touched any of the games or YouTube yet.
- Customer service at Columbus during my first maintenance last week was much, much better than my experience ordering and taking delivery at Detroit. They were genuinely happy to have it and remarked that it was the first one they'd seen driven so much, despite seeing 40+ per month from as far away as St. Louis since opening in October. They even comped me an alignment check which I was perfectly willing to pay for.
- Alright, I downright love how the car is balanced and handles. It floats like a 5000 pound feather. I will say, I have done some spirited driving, and if you plan on doing a lot... Get the performance pack. Not for the reason you're thinking of. It really needs those bigger brakes. The car luckily doesn't push my limits, but you can easily go right off the road taking a twisty too fast downhill. I know because I almost did. I was doing 60, heh... The only time I've had this issue.
- I have a second set of wheels with winter tires, and change them myself. Despite that and also our absolutely disastrous roads, the alignment was still in spec and the suspension looks great.
- The new range assistant app is GREAT! I leave the instrument panel on standard so I don't have to worry about going too far, but I typically was getting numbers indicating 20-30 miles more than EPA. The new app generally concurs with this (I do a lot of city driving, probably around 70%).
- Speaking of the range, any owner can tell you that the efficiency is much better than anyone expected. At the start of this year, I began including my efficiency number in my Uber log when I get home. Nothing fancy, just the number and some basic calculations. As of tonight, I have 5628.2 miles and an average efficiency of 27.29kw/100mi. It should drop through the summer - I've been getting between 22 and 25 the past month. The highest was 35.1 over the course of 47.8 miles. I remember quitting early that night because the weather was getting real bad - freezing rain.
- The worst nights, as I recall, were very cold but also wet. Just the heater isn't too bad, but I blame the dehumidifier for the uptick in consumption. Which is fine because it's a genius feature that I don't think I can live without now. Note that I always precondition with a timer if the weather is below 50F or above 80F. You would be surprised how much of a difference it makes, especially if you aren't going far. If it's cold, preconditioning and the heated seats/wheel are all I need until it gets under 40F.
- After figuring out Pilot Assist and what it is good at (and what it is not) I basically only use it on the highway for long-ish drives. This is not a knock against it, the system is great and seems to improve just a bit every time they try to update it. Phantom braking does exist but is not at all problematic. It has stopped freaking out when lanes split or you veer toward a ramp. This system was meant to encourage and reward good driving behavior by ASSISTING the PILOT. Do not abuse it.
- An update to my comment about the backseat. I had my 6'2" father test out the front AND rear passenger after I put the front seat in a reasonable position. He had no issues and has even ridden back there for a while with no complaint.
- The H&K sound system is fine for me. I'm a big metalhead so I don't need window shattering bass. A bit of work on the equalizer and it competes with the surround in my living room. The option to focus the sound came in handy when I wanted to listen to music but my niece wanted to watch cartoons during our family trip.
- The upholstery, is, in fact, very easy to clean. I also got the Tuxmats which are freakin' awesome. Seeing those was another first for the Columbus space and they really liked them, too.
TL;DR - I am still 110% satisfied after a year and almost 20,000 miles. Will absolutely look into another Polestar product as my next car. I think any other follow-up posts will be if something goes seriously wrong, or I hit 100,000 miles :). I need to get to bed soon, so I'll check out the comments in the morning.

2023.06.01 03:55 nicoleecat Jenelle's Malingering Timeline Part 3 - 2022 to Present
Alright y'all... here's the final piece. It's 15 Google Docs pages, so it's a long one. If you don't want to read and are wondering what the takeaway is, it's this: Jenelle has so many different health "issues" that have popped up and disappeared over the last 10+ years, received diagnoses for some, has had tests done for most, and has ultimately ignored all of it. Sometimes she focuses on her esophagus. Sometimes it's her neck cracking. Sometimes it's her lungs. Sometimes it's her bloodwork. Sometimes it's her hemangiomas. Nowhere in any of the testing, medications, unofficial or official diagnoses is there a solution she's happy with. It never ends, and it never will. I'll eat a very tall sandwich if she ever announces (another) official diagnosis that explains all of her ailments (not necessarily one blanket one) and demonstrates treatment or lifestyle changes that she's making to try to make herself feel better.
January 2022 - Posts a TikTok video saying she’s been taking things easy lately and has lost her spark and motivation because of her health issues. She says, “I’ve recently been diagnosed with two tumors in my spine, and they recently found out that I also have a tumor in my neck, which hurts pretty bad. We don’t know what we’re doing about this yet, but I’ve just been in a lot of pain lately. My neck is just killing me.” She hashtags the video "syringomyelia," "hemangioma," and "spinetumor." In another video, she says these tumors are different than the cysts she’s previously mentioned and lists out what she has: cysts in her spine and head, two small tumors on her vertebrae and “thoratic” spine, another tumor at C3 in her neck, called hemangiomas. More on that in a bit.
January 2, 2022 -
Posts a TikTok response to a comment that said, “I have a cyst on my brain. Actually, a lot of people do. They call them ‘don’t bother me cysts’ because they are so common. Your absolutely fine.” Sarcastically, Jenelle says, “You know what you’re so right; it doesn’t cause any issues until you go paralyzed or can’t hold your bowels anymore or have left arm weakness like I do, or have a nerve study done and show left side weakness in your body.” She says we shouldn’t compare whos worse and that it’s not a competition, and wants to clarify that she has cysts and tumors. She says cysts elsewhere aren’t a big issue, but they are when they’re on your spine. “Just use Google.” She points out that the video is shaking and says it’s because of weakness in her hands. She says the commenter is right that they won’t do anything about it until the symptoms get worse.
Posts another response to a different comment that says, “I know it’s been a long road to this discovery. Can you share with us the journey such as exams they had to conduct to find these tumors?” Jenelle says every time you get an MRI/CT scan done, you should ask for the image disk and bring it with you to every doctor you go to, as long as it has a diagnosis. She shows a picture of her “thoratic” spine and
points out two little tumors and a cyst. She shows the MRI of her sinuses and shows us that cyst. She says she got another MRI that she doesn’t have the image disk for, but it showed she had another hemangioma.
January 5, 2022 - Posts a TikTok with someone else’s audio that says, “how do you know you can’t OD on cannabis? Because I try! I try every fucking day Barbara.” It could be argued she only posted this because her mom’s name is Barbara, but her cannabis addiction is well documented.
January 6, 2022 - Posts a dancing TikTok and a
commenter says, “That’s good for the back.” She responds, “Staying positive and dancing until I can’t anymore.”
January 8, 2022 - Says in a
TikTok comment that she was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder and just has anxiety.
January 12, 2022 - Posts a TikTok with the caption “When your husband asks if he got you sick,” and the audio says, “Umm… yeah.”
Random thoughts YT January 2022 - talks about her implants and says, “They say to get them redone every 10 years, but I don’t have any problems right now.” She says she asked 2 different doctors, and both told her that she has so many other health issues that they don’t think she has BII and aren’t concerned about it.
January 2022 - Seventh video, with footage starting in October and going through January. It’s been six months since she found out about the cyst. Her back hurts really bad, yet still went on a fair ride (which made her nauseous, despite her “never” having motion sickness before). She has nerve pain in her shoulders, back, and ribs. Headache, neck cracking, ear popping, feels like she can’t breathe. She Googled what she shouldn’t be doing: no trampolines, no scuba diving (“which I’m certified in scuba diving, so that really sucks”), and no roller coaster riding. So. ENT said to see the neurologist again; the neurologist suggests seeing a new ENT. The neurologist assumes the neck cracking isn’t caused by the cyst. Goes back to the neurosurgeon - they’re going to repeat the MRI and look for any changes. The results show it’s getting longer but is the same width. Mentions her heat issues again; she’s getting red patches on her chest and breaking out and itching when she’s in the sun. She says she’s getting neck tightness, extreme pressure headaches, and blood pressure rising when she stands up and sits down. The doctor suggests an MRI of her neck. Now claims arm & fingertip numbness. Refers to her cysts as tumors, benign vertebrae tumors, and hemangiomas. The neurosurgeon suggests pain management, but she wants to try herbal remedies and some fruit that cures cancer. The neurosurgeon says the hemangioma is fine and that her neck is normal. Jenelle suggests she may have thoracic outlet syndrome. She thought her neck was cracking due to the hemangioma, but the doctor tells her that wouldn’t cause the neck cracking. She has an EMG scheduled and will get a blood study done to detect her blood circulation.
February 2, 2022 -
Posts a negative review for another doctor on Facebook. She says she was told by the PA to “go to the ER if you become paralyzed or lose bowel movements due to the cyst in your spine.” She was referred elsewhere for TOS syndrome (thoracic outlet syndrome). She says she’s been crying for months about her problems, and the practice didn’t care to look into it further when her problems are “very apparent” on her MRIs. She doesn’t recommend this office and ends the review with, “Not to mention my cyst in my spine is growing in length 1mm per month.”
This same day, someone comments on a TikTok video asking how her back is doing. She responds by saying, “Lots of pain, and my neck always cracks but waiting on second opinions.”
February 8, 2022 - Posts a TikTok with the caption “Nerve Study Day” with star emojis. She starts her voiceover by saying, “Time for another dottor’s appointment.” She explains the nerve study tests her nerve impulses with shocks and acupuncture pokes. She says, “Don’t worry, I wore a mask, I was sick.” She says she felt like shit after and took a bath and then laid down after because she had a bad headache. She had to help Kaiser with homework, though, because being a mom doesn’t stop. Ate dinner but still didn’t feel well, so she went to sleep.
February 2022 - Eighth video. Got a new opinion from a new neurologist who sent her for another MRI and a nerve study. Claims her symptoms have gotten worse. Says her cervical MRI was at C3, C5, C6, & C7. She has a hemangioma in her neck, degenerative disc disease, and a disc bulge. The thoracic MRI showed T7, T8, & T9 - has a syrinx & hemangiomas there. And the cyst in her sinus. Says her thumb on her left side is losing grip, and her arm doesn’t feel like it’s attached to her body. Her brain pain has been getting worse and worse. Claims the new doctor says it’s weird no one is doing anything. She looked at her CT myelogram scan from 2021 and says spondylosis is her new diagnosis and that the neurologist didn’t tell her about it. Her neck has been cracking even louder - she’s being referred to another neurosurgeon for her spine cyst. She’s going to have her lungs checked for more cysts. After the nerve study, says she has problems at C6 in her spine and is waiting for the neurologist to look at the results. She has had nerve pain in her arm and back since the study, as well as double vision.
February 20, 2022 -
Posts a TikTok about her health and mentions she will get checked for ALS and has been crying a lot. She’s getting all of her tests redone and her nerve study redone. She says she’s having trouble breathing, and since she has cysts “popping up everywhere,” they want to check to see if they’re also on her lungs. She hashtags the video “ALSAwareness” and “PrayersNeeded.” Responding to comments, she says, “Yeah, I asked my doc about MS, and she said nope, I don’t have that based on my brain MRI” and “
I wish I did have MS and not ALS… but she said she looked at my brain MRI and there were no lesions.” Someone comments that the shaky hands and poor thumb grip could be caused by phone use and gaming controllers, but Jenelle says, “No… I’ve had a nerve study to prove weakness. I am having atrophy in my thumb. My thumb is losing muscle.”
February 23, 2022 -
Posts an Instagram story selfie from a doctor’s office captioned “Good news but bad news… blood work is normal”
February 24, 2022 -
Posts a TikTok captioned “freaking out on the inside” and “Life tough at the moment :( #NerveStudy.” She says she had to get another nerve study done because the other person who did it wasn’t her doctor’s office. She shows us her medical shorts and her laughing at herself but says she was “tearing up.” She says the electricity part was good but waited on needles. She shows us the equipment they used. Then she shows us herself crying when she got home because she had such bad nerve pain and then went to bed. A comment asks what she takes for the nerve pain, and she says, “Hot baths.” Another asks if she has fibromyalgia, and she says, “Nope.”
March 6, 2022 -
Asked in the comments on a TikTok video how she’s been feeling and when she’s going to the doctor again. She responds, “Thanks for asking! Have a lot of double vision, neck pain, and headaches everyday.. Going this week for my check up.”
March 10, 2022 - Posts on Instagram that
she has a diagnosis. The next day she sold the story to
E! News and said she was
diagnosed with fibromyalgia. From the article: “For as long as I can remember, I would get extremely bad tension headaches and full body aches - like I had the flu, but was not sick. My entire body gets in so much pain, and sometimes I lay in bed and cry.” She says, “Living life every day is challenging because of having only a little bit of energy to be able to get my work done and then having to go to bed early due to headaches or body aches.” She claims to be changing her diet to manage her symptoms.

Posts an Instagram story that says, “I’m still so sad. Even tho I have a diagnosis… still doesn’t explain my neck cracking, double vision, and throat pain. I feel so hopeless. Something is def wrong with my neck, and it’s severely tight 24/7.”
March 12, 2022 - Posts a TikTok captioned “Hiii #LungCheckup #HealthUpdate #fibromyalgia.” She says she hasn’t been feeling good and took a break from TikTok for a few days. She shares her diagnosis and says she told her neurologist a few months ago that she couldn’t breathe, so she had a checkup with a lung doctor. They did a FeNO test on her, and her score was abnormally low, like “way too low.” She exclaims it measures the nitric oxide that you exhale on your breath. She’s now been prescribed an inhaler, nitroglycerin for her esophagus spasms, and a full lung checkup. She was going to skip her lung appointment, but good thing she didn’t! A quick Google search tells us that a high FeNO score is when you should be concerned.
March 13, 2022 - Posts a TikTok showing off weed merch someone sent her. In the comments, someone asks, “But do you think smoking is contributing to your lung problems? Hope you get answers soon!” Jenelle responds and says, “.....yeah I know :( but thank you.”

She posts a video captioned “Peak Flow Meter - Lung Reading” and starts it off by saying, “This is your sign to get your lungs checked.” She said she just woke up and has been told to keep a diary of how her lung function is and is going to see how good it is based on her age and height. She blows into the device for about a second and coughs afterward, gasping for breath. She shows us her level is at 410, and for her height and age, it should be at 475. She says she has the lungs of a 70-year-old. She’s going to continue to do readings 3 times a day and report back to her lung doctor. In the comments, she mentions her average is 400. There are multiple comments telling her the correct way to administer this test and that she’s doing it wrong.
She posts a second video responding to a comment telling her to stand up straight, take a big deep breath and blow out as fast and hard as she can. She does it three times and shows it’s 410 each time. Someone comments, asking if she’s sure it’s not stuck, and asks if she quit smoking. She responds, “I’m going to try breathing exercises.”

You went from uncontrollable neck pain to this in no time at all.” Jenelle says she’s not going to be the most depressed bitch on this app every single day and is going to show us good and bad days. She says some people are in pain more than others. She says she’s been up since 1 in the morning because of her esophageal spasms, feeling like she has a heart attack. She’s not going to film herself every single time she feels like shit. There’s no treatment plan because they don’t know what’s going on. The only treatment plan she has is for her esophagus. She’s going to dance until she can’t no more.
March 26, 2022 - Makes a video with the caption, “I’ll give y’all more of an update soon. The text on the video says, “2 months ago: can’t breathe when waking up.” A clip of her in the bath says, “Tried to relax and rest since this began.” Posts a
clip of herself in the ER that says, “2 days ago: hospitalized for extreme chest pain and difficulty breathing” and shows off her IV and pulls down her gown to show the monitors taped to her chest. The first clip is taken at 3:05 PM, and the second is taken at 3:49 PM. This one says, “Recently had 2 antibodies related to Myasthenia Gravis show up on blood tests.” Another says, “Had 2 EKGs, they stuck me 4 times for blood, stuck me 2 more for IVs, chest x-ray, CT scan,” and shows off all of her taped IV/blood draw locations. She says she needs an MRI check up to see how long it’s gotten. She clarified that she said she could go paralyzed any day now. “If I go paralyzed or lose any bowel movements without trying, then I have to immediately go to the hospital and get emergency surgery. So yeah, really, I’m like a ticking time bomb over here, just waiting to give up, I guess you can say. So next week, I’ll be going to see my new neuromuscular doctor. Still have a lot more genetic testing to do and blood work, so we’ll see what’s going on, but they’re thinking an autoimmune disease.” She hashtags it “syringomyelia” and “syringomyeliaawareness.” She also clarifies that she’s leaving health content on the back burner until she has answers.

In the Youtube vlog she posts, she explains she’s wearing a portable fan around her neck to help cool her down since her various illnesses make her sweat/hot. In the airport, she mentions she’s relieved that she’s “so far not sick,” or in other words, not experiencing esophagus spasms. Once they land, she tells us she didn’t get sick on the flight.
June 26, 2022 - Posts a TikTok explaining the wearable fan more. She says she’s been having an overheating issue and that her face has been red, so if she looks burnt, she isn’t. Nevermind the fact that she posted pictures of herself extremely burnt from their vacation.

August 10, 2022 -
Posts a health update to TikTok. She reminds us she went to the ER in March and that while she was there, she had a high D Dimer test. The text on the screen says, “also had abnormal ECG in ER, sinus brachycardia (sic), & sinus arrhythmia.” She explains D Dimer tests are for blood clots or heart disease. They saw she didn’t have a blood clot and that her “lungs were fine” but told her to follow up with her doctor. She says the chest pain has been on and off for the last 3 months so she’s been ignoring it. She finally got ahold of her primary care doctor, who told her the chest pain is still happening, told her about the test results, and got a referral to a cardiologist. She shows us the heart monitor she has to wear for the next 48 hours (her exact words are, “so now, I’m on a chest monitor for the next 48 hours”) and says she has a heart ultrasound tomorrow and a stress test in September.

October 19, 2022 - Posts a TikTok about getting mono in middle school. She explains her throat was so swollen and inflamed that she went to the hospital and was admitted. She had IV steroids. Said her body “could not handle” mono and that she was severely sick. She says mono is REALLY severe and that it is the Epstein-Barr virus. She’s “stitching” someone else’s video and references it when she says that E-B can cause so many other diseases when you’re older without you realizing it. There are 3 blood tests that can see if you actively have E-B. Jenelle says it’s crazy to think it can cause all these health issues. She says she can’t breathe and has bad mucus problems lately in the morning. She’s on an inhaler and seeing her lung doctor. They’re going to do a “bronoscopy” and she’s really scared. She tells people she thinks all of her health issues are from E-B. She must’ve forgotten she already explored this avenue in March. And in August of 2021.
October 26, 2022 -

Treatment is antibiotics for three months, then retesting her antibodies. She calls methylene blue her other medicine/treatment and says it’s an antioxidant if you use a little and if you use a lot it’s anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and boosts serotonin and dopamine. She’s also using a redlight watch that is supposed to kill the bacteria in her veins once the dye is in her system. She claims in the comments this was all prescribed by her doctor.
That same day she posts another TikTok where she says she’s been seeing a functional medicine doctor out of Nashville that she found on YouTube. She had one video call visit and said the doctor sent one test to LabCorp and found her diagnosis. She was diagnosed with mycoplasma pneumonia, as mentioned in the previous video, and neutrophilic asthma. He’s who prescribed the methylene blue and wants her to use it with a nebulizer. She says she’s done a lot of research on it and that it has more pros than cons and seems very beneficial. She says she has shortness of breath but is hoping the combination of antibiotics, methylene blue, and redlight therapy will help her feel better in the long run. She’ll let us know how she feels in 3 months. In the comments she claims she wakes up in the morning with panic attacks because of clear mucus.
