Litany of the sacred heart traditional

The Delaware Water Gap contains some of the prime hiking trails in New Jersey and New York! Mt. Tammany is arguably the top hike in New Jersey. Just across the river, Mt. Minsi isn't too bad with several views and a beautiful waterfall.
Hiking the Pennsylvania side anywhere within the DWG will most certainly lead you to one of the many other beautiful waterfalls or cliffside lookouts.
If you've thru hiked the Appalachian trail, you've been in the DWG, as a portion of it runs right through the heart of the DWG.
Eagles are plentiful and if you're lucky you'll catch a glimpse of peregrine falcons.
While its mountains certainly aren't the tallest, they offer their own charm and should be on any hikers radar.
While this is a sub promotion of sorts, it comes from a guy who is truly passionate about the area and wants to share the beauty so others can respectfully and peacefully enjoy the area.

PETERSBURG — One of the first Black woman architects, Amaza Lee Meredith from Petersburg, will be celebrated in the latest episodes of the New Angle: Voice audio documentary series created by Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation.
According to historian Jacqueline Taylor, Meredith [1895-1984] studied at Virginia Normal and Industrial Institute, now known as Virginia State University [VSU]. In 1947, she enrolled at Teachers College in New York City.
One of Meredith's best documented works is Azurest South, located on the VSU campus. Completed in 1939, it served as her home/studio and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. National Historic Landmark status is pending.
The Virginia Department of Historic Resources describes Azurest South as being located in the Chesterfield County town of Ettrick and Meredith's design as a compact, clean-lined dwelling. It is among the Commonwealth’s few mature examples of the International Style, a style which developed in Germany following World War I and espoused a complete break with traditional architecture.
The architect shared the house with her partner Edna Meade Colson [1888-1985], a leading Black educator and activist. In 1986, Azurest South became the official Alumni House for the Virginia State University Alumni Association, a dream of Meredith's.

Sag Harbor, New York: Azurest North
Meredith’s life will soon be in the popular imagination: Actor Laurence Fishburne is producing a new HBO Max series based on Colson Whitehead’s novel "Sag Harbor," a place where Meredith and her sister Maude Terry developed a destination resort for middle-class Blacks. HBO Max is an American subscription video on-demand over-the-top streaming service.
Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation [BWAF] executive director Cynthia Phifer Kracauer leads this effort. She conceived and produced the audio documentaries with noted writer and editor Alexandra Lange Ph.D. and the acclaimed producer Brandi Howell.
The production team traveled to Petersburg, Charlottesville, Richmond and Manassas and interviewed preachers and historians like Grady Powell who document how Meredith founded a department at a university, taught art at Virginia State and more.
On Sag Harbor, Azurest North has been listed since 2019 as part of a historic district. The Sag Harbor work includes two residences by Meredith, including her family’s cottage where Meredith’s drafting table could be found.

Hello all. I’m (21F) posting on behalf of my mother (45F).
My mom has had severe anxiety problems for over a decade now. She’s been in therapy for over 5 years total and tried likely every anxiety medication you can list. Buspar, Effexor, Lexapro, Zoloft (among other major SSRIs), Cymbalta, Elavil, beta-blockers, MAOIs, and Xanax. The only one that has been effective for her anxiety was Xanax (dosage of half a 0.25mg tablet). But she didn’t like how Xanax left her very cloudy-brained at work. Buspar simply didn’t work at all and gave her sexual dysfunction (as did the SSRIs). Effexor was somewhat effective but resulted in severe insomniac symptoms, even with the assistance of sleeping meds. MAOIs weren’t helpful and massively irritated her IBS. And beta-blockers slowed her heart rate too much and caused palpitations, on top of not being very effective overall. If the medication is remotely effective, the side effects she gets are severe.
She has been diagnosed with GAD, as well as (treatment-resistant) major depressive disorder. Her depression is less interfering with her day-to-day life, but no antidepressant has helped. I live with her and I have personally seen her use all of these medications as instructed.
Therapy has helped some but not enough. Her anxiety interferes greatly with her relationships and work. She has panic attacks under what most would consider only moderate stress.
I tried to talk her into ketamine therapy or psilocybin therapy but she was adamantly against both.
Her own doctor isn’t even sure what to suggest anymore.
Does anyone have ANY suggestions? Thank you.

My parents are 69 and 70 and currently in good health. My dad had cancer a few years ago but made a full recovery and my mum is starting to feel the aches and pains of getting older and is on a couple of medications for blood pressure and heart stuff. Other than that they’re great.
My concern is my brother has recently told me he’s going to be moving to a different country and while I’m happy for him, I’m also filled with fear about the future and what caring for my aging parents alone will be like without him, both practically and emotionally.
Can anyone share thoughts and advice? I plan to speak to my brother to let him know this is a fear of mine to see if it’s something he’s thought about - maybe he has some sort of plan about it. But I don’t really know how to put it. I’m 33 and he is 36. I sort of feel like an arsehole for even bringing it up but I am someone who wants to make sure there are plans for the future and that everyone will be ok.
Also… what does caring for aging parents actually look like? Is it lots of admin? Is it very hands on? Are you still able to work and have a life outside of being a care giver? Does it affect your relationship with your parents greatly?

So I took the Cladery Heart up the big red river, got the Touch of the South, suffered the consequences, and now I'm stuck. The ship isn't on the display. I move left (west) or right (east), but never back north. I can "move" onto land this way, so I got a good view of the inland parts of Varchas, which is cool. But how do I get back to zee? Exiting and restarting with Continue just gets me back to my last port. I'm using Steam/Mac OS, with Zubmariner and Sunless Stories mods.

It was the most grueling time of his life.
Yet he emerged victorious.
For what seemed like eternity, Aerys Targaryen and his dragon Urrax had fended off his own daughter and her much larger charge. Barely.
Much of Aerys' own skin was charred, a volley of fire having been directed towards Urrax's spine and the network of ropes that Aerys tangled himself into rather than sporting a saddle. Within the mess of ropes was the charred corpse of his cat, Mittens, who Aerys had always known the name of but had never embraced, instead opting for Cannibal. Urrax himself was no worse for wear, clearly on his last breaths. Were it the Urrax of a year ago, his fragile flesh and malnourished frame surely would have collapsed under the strikes of the monstrous CloudChaser. Instead, Urrax had grown into a lean beast with a ravenous appetite, all by Aerys' design.
Yet there was one thing Urrax could never stomach, and that was the path Aerys had taken. With one son dead and one daughter now plummeting down below, both Aerys and Urrax let out a howl of anguished relief, but at least now it was over.
"We did it. We did it!"
Aerys' elation was pure and unbridled, not caring to speak in the old tongues that his dragon was familiar with, but nonetheless the message could be deciphered. They didn't have to fight anymore. The outcome he had foreseen where his children would rise against him was now thwarted. Opinions of others be damned, for as far as Aerys saw it, the realm could now know peace.
And so could he. He could raise his daughter. He could avoid politics from Dragonstone. He could be a father and do it right this time. He could....
Why was Aerea charging him now? Lightweaver couldn't. She wouldn't. Surely not. Both of their dragons had bonded together just as he and Aerea had. They couldn't harm another.
"No! No! We did it! We can stop now! We..."
Aerys heard noises come from Urrax he had never heard before. The usual silent intimidator was now releasing all his emotions with a flood of noise. Yelps, whimpers, and groans were all thrown at Lightweaver. Pleading.
But it was inevitable. They had been betrayed.
"Dakogon. Dakogon. Dakogon. Urrax, Dakogon. Dakogon, now! Now!"
Run.
Collapsing his wings into his torso, Urrax would plunge down away from the clouds. Building up speed, once again the wings would outstretch and they'd glide as fast as their momentum could take them. Yet the groans of betrayal were not alone. Pain was clear in Urrax's continued vocal expressions. Looking to his forever companion's wings, they had been torn asunder by their fight just moments ago. The holes throughout were constant, air whistling through his bleeding flesh, all from claw marks that Aerys knew came in retaliation from the killing blow to CloudChaser.
Their loves were closing in.
"We- We can't escape." Aerys had finally admitted, having turned to look at their pursuers but now was fully embraced into his life-long friend. "I.... I'm sorry. They will be on us soon. Do not hurt them. They... they don't need to feel that. We did. Not them."
Urrax tilted his wings to halt their retreat, the sudden stop in the gliding making it feel as though they hung in the hair. Twisting his lean and dying body, the pair of them would face their impending death.
Was this always the inevitable outcome? Aerys had to wonder. The consequences of his actions had to have caught up with him eventually, but when did they begin? Was it years into their rule, when he kept pressuring her to have children and to be a mother rather than his equal? Was it before then? Was it the day they were crowned, the curse of power that he had always wanted to avoid now dooming them to this? Was it their love, all this time, seemingly their one saving grace, instead a foreboding affliction that was now beyond cure?
Whatever it was, it was upon him now. As a result, it was upon Urrax. Seemingly his one sole supporter left. Was he truly all there was? Were the others just using him for their own gain? The likes of Caron and Lannister and, could it be, even Eurona? Could any of them have truly loved him for who he truly was? Was Aerea just another one of them? When had she made this decision to kill them? As he defended himself from his daughter? From his son? From their father?
Urrax, as best as he could, dodged every blow without any retaliation from himself. But he and Aerys could only avoid so much. As Aerys looked on as he engaged in one final dance with his wife, he began to loosen his tie to Urrax. Tears welled in his eyes as it was clear these would be his last moments alive. Would they be spent trying to avoid his wife's attacks? Would he try to fight back now?
No, he was tired of questions, of running, and of fighting.
"Urrax. You did everything you could, friend. This is not your fault. It is time to let go. My death will not be because of you. We can... rest now."
His friend registered the words, no matter how soft spoken they were. Pulling away from the fight for a brief moment, it looked as though he was bounding up for a devastating attack. But Aerys knew better. With one last embrace to his friend, Aerys would unbind himself from Urrax and look to Aerea for the final time.
"You're free now too, love. I... I thought I could bring us peace finally. There is no peace for us." There was no way for her to hear his words, but for once his actions were not for her. "Fire and Blood. That is what we get, not love. We cannot escape this. I hope you embrace it."
With one last tug of a rope, Aerys Targaryen was free of his restraints. Letting go of it all, of what he created and perhaps what he deserved, he would fall backwards to one last relief: death. As the fighting above him grew distant, he smiled, for he saw the final strike that Urrax had prepared for Lightweaver was not one at all. Instead it was an embrace of death of Urrax's own making. He had sent his entire frame to his cradle-mate and wrapped it around her. As he brought the embrace into her, her own claws dug into his heart, and so too did he begin to fall afterward.
As Aerys Targaryen fell to his death, he would not feel peace, nor did he feel anger. Instead he laughed. Through it all, he always could recognize the hilarity in the absurdity of the life he had lived and the actions he pursued and the pain he had endured. Life had taken much from him, but it had never taken that.
And so, Aerys Targaryen laughed, and then he died a demise of his own making.

Hey so this is a late response of my gyno surgery results. I will share the before pictures again and then the after pictures. I will include post op pictures, that honestly I do not want to share but I am trying to be open. I am here to answer all the questions that everyone has, so please ask them.
A few things about the recovery, it was not as easy as everyone says. Honestly the recovery was terrible for me. The day after the surgery my chest blew up like a ballon you can see in the pics shown. I had to go in and get them drained, let me tell you that this was not a pleasant experience. My incision was opened up so Dr Blau could get the fluid out. He was not gentle at all, kneading my chest and squeezing the bloody liquid out of my chest. It hurt so bad my back was sweating, heart was beating like crazy and out of breathe. Knowing what I know now I would have taken a pain killer before I went in to get it drained. It isn’t his fault, I think sometimes the procedures do not go perfect, it is just a horrible thing to experience. I had to go in 4 times and get the fluid drained out because it kept building up with fluid. Dr Blau wanted me to stay extra days but I couldn’t stay any longer, I had the procedure on Tuesday Feb 21, 2023 and my flight home was Saturday Feb 25, 2023. Luckily my aunt who is a nurse worked with a plastics surgeon for 5 years so she proceeded to change my bandages and drain the fluid from my chest for the following 2 - 3 weeks. 7 days after my surgery I could barely move my arms, I couldn’t reach above my head at all. Everything was uncomfortable, driving was absolutely terrible, dressing myself was very difficult because lifting my hands above my head was not really an option. The compression vest was awful, I could barely sleep because it hurt my back having that thing on. It sucks that the healing process went this way, I would have had better results if I didn’t not have fluid building up. I have small indentions on both sides that you can see. The incision on my right side has a decent scar that protrudes from the skin. Hoping over the next 9 months the inflammation and indentions dissipates.
Over all of that, the hardest part about the healing process was mental. I started to get really depressed and negative. I thought I was going to look horrible, I thought that my scars were going to be massive. I thought I was never going to heal, it was terrible for 6 weeks total. I went from going to the gym 6 times a week to not being able to do pretty much anything for 3 weeks and then the following 3 weeks I could do things but not lift. I didn’t have an appetite at all so I didn’t really eat allot. I saw all my gains disappearing daily and I thought I was never going to be able to get back in the gym. Luckily I had a good support system through my friends and family. I am about 6 weeks back at the gym now and feel pretty good. I have a decent amount of scar tissue on both sides that I try and massage every night. Do I love the results?No. Am I happy I did the procedure? Yes.

Imu is the devil of the sea hailing from its abyssal depths also known as the god of the sea in ancient times, his biggest power is the ability to grant people's wishes. Like a wishing well
Just like tales in our world "A deal with the devil , The devil with grant any desires of humankind but in exchange for your soul".
So should Imu grant one's wish that persons soul will now belong to Imu. Once they die it will go to Imu along with all of the miracles given by their granted wishes.
Ex. Lets A Warrior King wanted to become fire to defeat all of his enemies switfly without contest so he makes a wish to Imu, His wish is granted but once he dies his Soul along with the miracle given to him(Fire powers return to Imu).
This is how devil fruits were created. As Vegapunk stated devil fruits are created through the desires of humans. Through Imu he stored the souls of those that passed away into fruits but maybe this wasn't his plan all along.
This also might explain the weakness of Devil Fruits when they sink to a certain depth under the ocean. Because the souls are naturally drawn to their place of origin the depths of the sea(The underworld). Because it is part of Imu they become powerless the closer they get to its influence.
So Why did Imu wanted control of the world? Maybe because the souls of the denizens of the world give him power and he wanted to be the only god. A corrupt world where people desire power and riches would cause men to seek him out, worship, and become subservient to him. While giving him all the souls of mankind. A god ruling men both flesh and spirit of the world.
More powerful and absolute than any god that the world of one piece has seen.(See Skypeia, Sun God Nika).
But just like the story Drum Kingdom full of corruption and ruin from an unjust king. The world was full of strife, corruption, slavery, racism and unjust rulers. I believe that the story of Drum Kingdom was a scaled version of the story of the ancient kingdom.
I believe Joyboy was what Dr. Hiriluk was to Drum Kingdom was to the World during the Void Century. He was laughed at for his dream of trying to unite the people of the world just as The doctor was often laughed at as a quack doctor trying to cure people.
But Through his bond he succeeded and creating a pirate crew then creating a Utopia(Something crocodile desires). And Showed what unity and love toward each other regardless of race and status can achive. We can see this on how advanced their technology is compared to the rest of the world of one piece. From futuristic inventions, Robots, Holograms, Machines that create food for hungry people that cannot afford it, Permanent sources of electricity. Truly a utopia full of brotherhood, family, free of discrimination.
But just like Wapol in Drum Kingdom healing the ailing and corrupted hearts of the world would cause the rulers to lose their grip. All their wealth through slavery, war, backstabbing may suddenly be gone. Some nations might suddenly act righteous, Powerful races like Giants, Lunarians, Fishmen, Oni's might start to rebel and embrace the Values of freedom and Unity being spread by the Ancient Kingdom's Influence.
And the worst part is Imu might lose a grip on the world no longer needing it's One and Only god. So he took initiative and rallied the kings. Just like a devil preying on their fears and desires united them to destroy the ancient kingdom before they destroy us. And Rightly so it would be believable seeing the might the ancient kingdom possessed. Just the ancient weapons alone could topple countries should they desire.
So That Day Imu created the devil fruits to pass on unnatural powers from the souls he holds to further bolster their forces and defeat the ancient kingdoms powerful technological might.
Just like Dalton In Drum Kingdom there are those that faltered among Joyboy's people (Zunesha, Ruler of Alabasta) and made a deal with Imu rather than fight him(Just like Dalton serving Wapol).
But during the battle seeing Joyboy refusing to fight the 20 Nations possibly because of the amount of innocents turning into casualties and ending up destroying the world. He realized that the only way to correctly stop this is the entire world to unite.
They came to their senses just like when Dalton realized his wrongs when Dr.Hiriluk didn't fight and accepted his fate rather entrusted his will to the next generation to cure drum kingdom(Which maybe Zunesha's and The Alabasta Rulers Sin they were making up for).
So instead they created the poneglyphs, Hid The Ancient weapons, And Sabotaged the possible tree of devil fruits so that it ends up scattered around the world. All These tools were left so that when the world one day unites they will be able to cure the world's ailing heart and fulfill Joyboy's will. A world truly united A world as one piece.
With that, the 20 kings left the world and sat at the highest point of the world Marijoa ascending as gods of the world watching over it. With Imu perched at its very peak from the abyssal bottom of the world disguising the underworld as the "heavens of the world".

Started taking 25mg Sertaline for about 3 weeks now. Deff the first week felt out of it, but this is my 3 week and this morning after taking my medication Im feeling slightly off. Sweating feet, elevated heart rate, and just feeling out of it in general. Normal? Just cant wait to feel this final feeling of relief like everyone seems to find :(

Surgery for conversion was Thursday the 25th. I was allowed to have protein shakes up to 11:30pm night before. Stopped them at 9:30pm as I had to be up at 3:30am for meds, water cut off and all the prep before 5:30am show time.
Surgery went from 7:45 am to 12:45pm and I made it to my room about 4:00pm. Everything went off well. Allowed to shower right as I got there too. Settled in and got fluids down too. Went home the next day. Rested Saturday all day. Sunday we took the nausea patch off and didn’t think anything of it as fluid consumption was 52oz on Saturday and 54oz on Sunday. Then came Monday. Monday was hell. Slept all the way through the night from 11:30pm to 7:30am on Monday. Got up to get Tylenol and took the first pill and something felt off. Waited 8 mins to take the second and rushed to the bathroom and just dry heaved. Husband grabbed my prescribed anti nausea and I took that. Flopped in the tub and let the shower water run over me to see if that would help. My heart rate kept spiking up in the 150+ range. Called on call thanks to the holiday. Ended up in the emergency department. I had my 17 year old drive me up there and keep me company. X-Ray, CT with two types of contrasts, blood work upon blood work, and finally admitted. End result?
Non Diabetic Ketoacidosis and tachycardia because I’m basically starved because of the liquid pre-op diet and pre-op initial diet and my body is producing a hellacious amounts of acid content which the electrolytes can‘t even keep in balance either. 3 bags of potassium yesterday and my potassium went down. Magnesium yesterday and its down so more magnesium today. They‘re throwing everything at it and more. Sodium, sugar, etc. It’s finally starting to turn around. The tachycardia they really haven’t explained. It isn’t tied to blood pressure at all. No thyroid to tie it to that. My thyroid T3 isn’t off and T4 isn’t high enough to do it. No thyroid storm. It’s just popping up. Dehydration was a possibility until they had like 2 bags in me then that slowly dwindled as the more bags went in so it might just be my life of welcome to strange random tachycardia. Sorta wonder if they’ll humor me and pull an antibodies screening for something that they took out 15 years and 5 months ago. Probably not but hey it’s always a shot right?
They did let me finally go back to drinking water yesterday and late last night have stage 1 liquid diet. Today I got to advance to protein shake. Doctor didn’t even get fully out before I asked if I could start my shake over in the corner that has 10g more protein than the hospital’s and less sugar because I was so excited. I want a ricotta bake soooo bad. I just want something real food right now. If everything keeps working towards improving, I get to go home tomorrow. Good thing, I don’t think the hospital can deal with me keep releasing my three kids (17, 15, and 8) wandering around their food courts - this isn’t like 1 tower hospital, its about 14 or 15 tower building campus of a university teaching hospital with a national center on it. One tried to find where she could job shadow already.

".......... and then it passed, like all things do. I didn't dream of her , I woke up and didn't think of her, I went on with my day and never pondered about her well being. The hurt, sadness, anger, disappointment faded and I forgot that I missed her. She moved on with time and I moved on with time, I never wanted to let go of her memory but time kept going and I got busy. Today we will look at the curious habits and general traditions of the dragon tribes of Pyrrhia.

Let's start from a premise: dragons are not all the same.
​
In Pyrrhia live 7 different species (or "tribes", also considering that they are obviously part of the same species), each of which has different characteristics and different traditions.
All these tribes are part of a single species, obviously due to the fact that they can produce fertile offspring. it is therefore probable that we are speaking here of "races".
​
These tribes have different powers, looks, and abilities (many make absolutely no sense). Many of them (except the poor Seawings) have a kind of "breath", a specialized element thrown from the dragon's mouth as a defense and offense system, which is called an "exhalation". It can be fire or poison or ice or curses.
​
All seven tribes will be detailed in specialized episodes.

Let's move on to those characteristics shared by all tribes.
Being reptiles, dragons lay eggs to reproduce. Unique feature: they have 6 limbs (4 legs and 2 wings)
A dragon never stops growing and reaches adulthood at 7 years of age, despite having a hundred-year life expectancy. We cannot but ask ourselves questions about why they are so long-lived but grow so fast, going against various natural laws (as if everything else were).
Dragons are all carnivores. Everyone. Except the Rainwings who, like pandas, defy the law of nature exclusively out of laziness (in fact they are fruitarians). Apart from themselves, normal dragons eat mostly medium- to large-sized live animals.

Now. Let's stop for a moment at this sentence.
An adult dragon is about the size of a blue whale. So it eats about one large sized being like a cow per day. They do not breed, but mainly hunt. How is it possible that animals are not extinct yet?
In the wild, it usually doesn't happen that a super-predator evolves into being intelligent and eliminates all of its predators. But let's not ask ourselves questions. Furthermore, for a reptilian species (which in nature have no emotions, no offense) and without prehensile free limbs (in fact they walk on all legs and their wings are not prehensile) it is even more difficult.

Dragons are as intelligent as humans and have an advanced, medieval-style, hierarchical society. Despite this, after almost 5,000 years of history, they still haven't invented such basic inventions as gunpowder. This arouses much suspicion, considering that humanity has gone from iron swords to spaceships in barely 2000 years. But let's not ask ourselves questions.
Emotionally, dragons are just like humans. They complain about money, cry because girlfriend dumped them, cheer in bars and tend to get drunk if they have alcohol (unconfirmed). They communicate both by speaking (human beings do not understand this language, hearing it as roars, mumblings and curses) and with body movements.

Fun fact: The Universities of Cambridge and Oxford have teamed up to release an official English-Draconic dictionary.

Curious and somewhat bizarre fact. Many dragons tend to be aggressive and violent because, quoting; "We are dragons, that's how we are." It might sound normal, but it's like a human being starts hunting mammoths while saying; "We are human beings, that's how we are". Which leads one to wonder why they generally see themselves as a species and not as an individual, but let's not ask ourselves questions.
The dragons are divided into 6 well-defined kingdoms, each occupied by a single tribe. This is obviously strange, considering that human beings are divided by territory, not by ethnicity, but let's not ask ourselves questions.
Each of these tribes has given its name to a specific region of the continent, except for the Nightwings who, we remember from the last episode, live together with the Rainwings.
Each tribe is ruled by a queen, so they are matriarchal societies. Despite this, female dragons do not appear to have more power than males in other areas of society.
The method of dynastic succession is somewhat barbaric. The queen's daughters (sometimes also sisters, nieces, or cousins) gain the throne by challenging the current queen to death, and if they win, they gain the throne right away. It goes without saying that this method makes absolutely no sense.
