Midsommar approaches and in my place no one -except obviously the people that has to work in some essential service- is sober in that night. Midsommar is obviously not only about drinking, there are many other components of the celebrations, but is pretty hypocritical to hide it.
I come from a naturist family, we are always naked during the whole year, and midsommar is not an exception. And is not that i'm a usual drinker, but i logically follow my heritage in that day. But this year i got a question from a textile friend that made me reflect about something i gave for granted: does naturist people drink? and do naturist dress for drinking or kept naked?
There is the opinion that naturist values -specific the self respect part- oppose drink alcohol as it is an unhealthy behavior, and this can be enforced always or exceptionally granted some degree of tolerance in some specific celebrations. For the ones not used to the nordic culture, midsommar is the celebration.
There is also the thinking that as alcohol can induce vulnerability, and nudity also, the combination of both is a very dangerous, specially in a social setting as a public celebration, so just for practical reasons better to avoid it. The association of nudity with sexual provocation and sex in general that is in the mind of nudophobic people even adds more weight to it. Paradoxically, most naturist associations here actually go into this direction.
There is also the opinion -that personally i subscribe- that if my ambition is to normalize nudity in all aspects of my life, that must include celebrations and even more social celebrations where for some people i don't meet often that will be the only annual contact. That the possible risks are quite hyped and anyway must be controlled as in any social interaction and that actually being clothed (specifically in fancy women clothes) is offers zero protection.
Finally there is also the people that associate naturism to being in a fancy private pool with a fancy cocktail or wine in their hands. So probably are already laughing about everything i said.
So i'm curious about your opinion. I also make it in a poll style. If you don't celebrate midsommar, probably there are other events in your life where alcohol might be relevant of the celebration, like perhaps birthdays or new year.

hi, I’ve been diagnosed with BPD this year. I’m really worried about smth coming up and I hope I can get some thoughts, guidance, or support — or just any feedback :(
I’ve been going to therapy, and even group therapy for BPD — I’ve learned so much about myself in relationships & grown to realize I’m not alone & that there’s ways to cope. But sometimes it’s hard.
Next Sunday (not this weekend), my bf is going to a trip to Central America with his high school best friend. His best friend has a girlfriend, who is also my bf’s high school close friend. I’ve met all his close friends this year, and they always invite me to hang out whenever my bf hangs out with them.
Yet, I still worry that my bf might leave me, or cheat on me bc he’s going to another country for a week. I’m scared that I will feel lonely, im scared of all the possible things that he might do. On top of this, he’s leaving for his trip literally the same night after my undergrad graduation :(
I try to think logically that he wouldn’t cheat on me and these are some things I think about: - we’re moving in together this year bc he’s going to med school while I apply to law school - after his week long trip we’ll have a couple days to spend time together before he leaves again for a family trip for 2 weeks (which I’m not stressed about bc he’s with family) - And WE LITERALLY HAVE A 3-4 week vacation alone and parts with his best friend (that he’s going on his best friend trip with) and his other friends
I remind myself of all of these things yet why do I feel so worried. I feel like I’m counting down the days until he leaves me for his trip and not rlly looking forward to the fact that I’m graduating. I don’t know why I can’t just be a normal person with healthy feelings or IDK!? Why do I feel so afraid that he’s going on this week long trip. Why do I feel like he’ll cheat on me. For context, I’ve had intense trauma growing up. My parents fought everyday, and my dad cheated on my mom. In my past relationship I was cheated on too. I don’t want to say that it’s all bc of my trauma, bc I know ppl hate that ;-; but I just wanted to share that.
I really don’t know. I’m so tired of feeling so much fear and worry in my relationship. I want to trust him and get better, but things are just so hard sometimes I just feel like I can’t control my negative thoughts and emotions and the things I imagine. Also my bf and I have been together for 1 year.

After suffering from the 100th flare up of my life, I have come to realize that this disease will be with me forever. I will never be like a normal human. Indeed by trying to get rid of it, I seem to be seeking license for more gluttonous eating behavior universal in the modern day US culture.
But with a wearable monitoring device I could manage the symptoms more easily. I need reminders to stop mild overeating, avoid certain trigger food or at least consume them in moderation, reduce stress level and workload, either from day job or exercise, engage in mild regular exercise, and take medication and supplement when necessary. My brain is often misled by the notion that I am like other healthy human beings and therefore do not need the above steps. So I really need an external source of reminder, with accurate delivery when needed.
Any idea if any existing wearable technology can fit in such niche? I have skipped few apple products. Apple Watch was one of them. I wonder if it could help. Also as a software engineer with lots of ambition to do social good, I wonder what industry or specific job/role I can work in to accelerate the development of such technology if still missing or greatly improvable.

I've been trying to apply to different positions all across Europe (I'm an EU citizen) these last days as I'm ending a Frontend internship in about a week and I was told that sadly there are no open positions at the moment where I'm doing the internship.
I have to add that I'm still studying my CS degree (though I have some other official studies from Spain that allow me to work as a developer, I think it's called vocational training in English) but I am planning to study slowly the subjects that I have left as I currently need to earn money.
So far I only find other internships or offers where they ask for at least 3 years of experience, I'm sending my CV anyways but I'm being rejected without doing any interviews (I'm guessing because I've only got 1 year of experience).

I was told by my manager that I exceeded their expectations at the internship and he even offered himself to write a recommendation letter. I think that I do have a higher level with React than you would expect from someone with just 1 year of experience (I'm writing custom hooks, pointing out structural problems in the codebase and refactoring them and, I usually don't need help and can work on my own, it is rare for me to need to ask for help).
Still, I guess that I'm being rejected without being given the opportunity to prove myself the moment people see that I only have 1 year of experience (and maybe that I haven't finished my degree yet).
Any ideas on what could I do to have more chances of getting interviewed, I feel that once I got to the interview it'd be much easier to prove my skills and actually get hired.

I realize having a non typed permanent once attatched is kinda wierd, but I remember seeing somewhere creatures cant attach, hence Bestow amd Reconfigure losing the creature typing. I'm at that point and would like to move forward with porting my number out of Verizon to Mint. The main "test" numbeSIM autorenewed and is paid for unlimited for another 90 days (along with a bunch of referral credits) but I do not want or need that number. Is there perhaps a way to port my Verizon number into the same Mint account and move all my credits/remaining time to the ported number?

I was laid off from my job I have worked at for the past 2 and a half years. It is just me providing for my daughter and I after her dad left out of no where back to PA leaving us from one day to the next. It has been really hard to financially catch up after splitting everything and then next day everything being on me along especially paying day care full time now which is unbelievably expensive.
I know times are tough for everyone right now but if anyone is able to help it would be greatly appreciated. Even if you don’t have the means to help, if you can please pray and have us in your thoughts for us to get through this difficult time 🙏

Hey redditors,
I (20f) have been having a really sucky period and it's driving me nuts. I have stage 1 endometriosis, but my periods are manageable with OTC painkillers. This time however, I feel worse than normal. Even with maximum painkillers I feel achey and crampy and overall just sick. The pain is everywhere (abdomen, back, legs, butt, even reaches my lower ribs) and it's mostly dull, with a sudden stab every so often.
The only thing different that I did, was stop birth control a week earlier due to exams and a festival where I'll be providing first aid (can't do those things while pumped up on painkillers). I've done this some times before, only out of necessity, either a week earlier or later which never caused issues.
I'm mostly just worried that I feel so sick. Besides the pain, I'm also nauseated and a little shaky, constipated and overall just really tired. I stopped the pill on Sunday (last dose Saturday) and started my period on Wednesday as it usually does. No major difference in bleeding other than that it was slightly thicker and had more clots than usual on the first day.
Should I go see my GP or just take it easy and wait it out?

What's going on?
A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.
What's the plan?
On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.
The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action.
What can you do?

1. Complain. Message the mods of reddit.com, who are the admins of the site: message reddit: submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on reddit, such as this one, leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.
2. Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join us at our sister sub at ModCoord - but please don't pester mods you don't know by simply spamming their modmail.
3. Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!

So, my roommate thinks she is having her hormonal period week and she seems to be feeling low in the self esteem department. What are some things that you think will help her feel more valid and happy?
To help you get context on how to think of complements because I'm a stupid man and don't know how to tell a girl nice things that don't sound weird at times:
She is 6'1 with waist length dark brown hair that turns chestnut in the sunlight. She has the hands of a practiced concert pianist, so long delicate fingers and well manicured nails. No polish. She can’t wear it because of her job. She doesn't wear frilly things, but everytime she does she gets her gender euphoria face and I always want to make her have that face again. She is thin, but in a healthy way because I make sure she's eating a balanced diet because the both of us are ADHD as fuck and forget to eat so we make sure we both eat. Her favorite colors are midnight, scarlet, snowflake, and olive. Her favorite clothing aesthetic is Rousseau from Lost (unless we talk about the frilly from earlier). She loves video games like the new Zelda, Hades, and anything final fantasy.
She's the best roommate I've ever had and lately she has been really down and she's asked me to sleep in her room with her and keep her company for like, 4 days in a row. She really seems to enjoy the cuddles. She acts like she is feeling better, especially since she's touch starved and her E has been making her colder and my T has turned me into a space heater and cuddles are nice, but I worry. I know she's been sad and lonely lately and I have been trying to be there for her as much as I can, but I know she's been feeling more isolated lately because it's close to mother's and fathers day which are sore subjects in our trans household.

In light of the recent SNSD dating exposes, This one, The Taeyeon and Baekhyun one, has been the most interesting, and actually has two sides to this story. This is also the first time that SM has officially endorsed a intra-SM couple. I will only focus on Taeyeon's side of the relationship. She is after all, the older of the couple, i'd assume she makes all the decisions in this relationship.
I urge you to at least read on, and understand and digest. I understand this sub is majority Americans, Canada and Europe. And therefore your views may differ from the views of Sones living in Korea. You may have the urge to immediately downvote this, but for the sake of healthy discussion, i plead you hold your ratings.
The responses towards this has been varying, some elated for Taeyeon having unlocked herself from the shackles of her dating ban, while others felt furious and dejected from the sense of betrayal, supposedly from Taeyeon's actions, and everything in-between.
I will first generalize, and say that I think most here would feel elated for Taeyeon. I do understand. After all, Taeyeon is only human, and has wants, needs, and desires. Immediately it would be apparent to you that this dating ban is a serious degradation to one's living standards. After all, why should anyone be able to invade into her personal life, let alone control what she can do? These feelings are understandable, she is no longer young, she was lonely and supposedly in depression. Baekhyun came along, i do not know the details, but Taeyeon fell for his care and concern. All these should run up to an happy ending with a loving couple, shouldn't it?
Yes? But the Koreans saw this situation differently. Vastly differently. In fact so different, the conclusions they pull from this is that anger and dejectedness are the proper reactions to this situation.

You might immediately want to ask a grieving Korean, why is he so bitter? why does he not wish his idol he so liked, so cared for, so supported by, that he wishes her to lie in a depressed state, faking a smile everyday, as compared to a genuinely happy Taeyeon? This can only be said to be a shallow interpretation of this situation.
As generalized in this post, The Koreans are not angered at her dating, nor with her choice of date, nor are they in despair that they were not chosen in favour of Baekhyun. I honestly believe anyone with a working brain, has already ejected the thought of actually having a chance with Taeyeon. The real problem lies within the criticism and belittling of fans.
Answer me this, /SNSD, have you ever been into events supporting SNSD physically, literally queuing in the snow just to fill up a studio to show your idols you are there for them? Arranging complicated post-release album buying algorithms such as to keep the longevity of those albums on charts? Have you donated physical money to keep one of their multitudes of fansites afloat? Have you personally sent food bentos to filming sets, in order to gain the respect and get into the good books of directors and film crew, such that your idol may have a easier time on set?

If that is not enough to show how crazy Sones are willing to express their dedication for SNSD, here is a little anecdote from me.
I have once attended an annual blood donation drive, organized by the local Sone gathering. This was inspired after SNSD's Love request show, and it has been extremely meaningful since. Mind you, the process itself was painful, the the feeling of being weak and tired for the rest of the week was a pain to bear in the modern stresses of my country. But all of that was meaningful; It was donated in the name of the one and only Kim Taeyeon. We even received a plaque that congratulates Kim Taeyeon of donating some 7 litres of blood for lifesaving.
It is hard to understand the feelings now held by the Koreans. Most have placed a large part of their lives into this, and for most of the masters of fansites, leaving SNSD is not an option. It is not farfetched to go beyond saying SNSD would not be here today without these Koreans. The dejectedness arises when this was leaked. It was prime evidence secret accounts exist. For all we know, SNSD have secret twitter accounts too. This would have been innocent, until Taeyeon started to upload cryptic images and hidden mushy nicknames for each other publicly. This would not have been a problem, if they kept it in their secret SNS, but surely Taeyeon would not be as silly as to post it publicly? Well, she did. Logically speculating why she would do something like comes up with 2 possibilities. One where she doesn't have, or wishes to be at the inconvenience of switching accounts everytime they wish to communicate. This is highly unlikely, as an class A idol, it would be highly unlike she would take such a risk as to keep her password always logged in, and kakao or Line would have better facilitated such needs. or, In the 2nd possibility, she enjoys the thrills of posting such messages, and having safely hinted time and time again of their relationship. Psychologist know all about this, and part of the adrenalin rush from death defying roller coaster rides. people are known to do this, well in roller coaster rides, who is to say Taeyeon isn't doing the same.
Regardless which situation lead her to do something like that, It is important to realize that nobody likes to be trapped between 2 lovers, and i can assure you its not a good feeling reading what is not meant for you, worse, interpreted as for you, but not. Some did not know this until the very end, which by then, was anger and sadness. Imagine sending something to Taeyeon, something you designed yourself, sweat and effort all put into having your idol appreciate it. She receives, and captions it with a ambiguous message. You accept its a response to your work, but finds out after some time that it isn't, instead for someone else, intentionally. You'd feel bitter too.
There were also posts regarding if TaeBaek was just a conspiracy to mislead people away from the Kris/yifan scandal. It would seem true, as Taeyeon is know to be a really smart leader. An open-roofed car, making out? Again, only 3 possibilities, That it is a conspiracy, where SM intentionally allowed the photographers to make a clear shot. or, Taeyeon isn't smart, and in the mist of hormones and lack of proper air conditioning, decided to open the roof. The last possibility i had difficulty grappling with; it puts doubt on everything Taeyeon's character and what she has claimed to be so far, that is that Taeyeon that is smart but has seem to have abandoned all willingness to hide their relationship and alongside the fate of SNSD.
Now ask yourself, is there anything SM is so afraid, such as to invent such madness to turn the eyes of silly netizens into forgetting Kris's scandals? Is Taeyeon stupid as to blatantly tell the world she is dating and risk the backlash?

It is hard to imagine that one would have sacrificed so much for an idol, that one day the idol would use them as a stepping stone. Maybe it is how life works, maybe people need to be stung so as they may wake up from their fantasies. But regardless, it has happened, consequences will follow.
Please, Think again before you type another mean comment about a person whom may not think them dating is smart thing to do now. Because they have reasons, and some are more thought-out than simple ideologies.
As for Taeyeon's apology, you might not understand, but I believe Taeyeon finally understands the risky game she plays has backfired.
Oh and because you people can't seem to understand, such that i need to reemphasize, the reason i am writing this, is NOT because i am lonely, douchey and jealous.
