Arizona has been a growing place to do stand-up with plenty of places to get stage time as well as many alternative comedy shows for those seeking a new writing perspective in general. 2023.06.09 10:04 Mundane_Fly9165 Getting the Best Deal: Storm Proxies Pricing
As businesses continue to expand their online presence, proxy servers have become an essential tool to maintain anonymity and increase security. Storm Proxies offers reliable and high-quality proxy servers, but how does its pricing structure compare to its competitors?
Firstly, let's take a look at Storm Proxies' residential proxies. With over 70,000 rotating residential IPs, these proxies are an excellent choice for web scraping, social media management, and SEO monitoring. The pricing for residential proxies starts at $50 per month for 5 ports and $200 per month for 20 ports. Compared to other providers, the pricing is mid-range, with affordable options for smaller businesses and startups.
Next, let's explore Storm Proxies' datacenter proxies. These proxies provide faster speeds and are great for tasks that require high-volume data requests. The pricing for datacenter proxies varies depending on the location and setup. For example, the US datacenter proxies start at $10 per month for 1 port and go up to $400 per month for 50 ports. The EU and Asia datacenter proxies start at $20 per month for 1 port and $800 per month for 50 ports respectively. The pricing for these proxies is on the higher end, but the quality and reliability make it worth the investment.
For those who require maximum anonymity, Storm Proxies also offers reverse backconnect proxies. These proxies rotate the IP address every 5 minutes, making it nearly impossible to track activity. However, the pricing for these proxies is significantly higher, starting at $300 for 10 ports and going up to $1500 for 100 ports.
In conclusion, Storm Proxies offers a range of proxy servers to meet different business needs. Its pricing structure is competitive for residential proxies, but higher for datacenter and reverse backconnect proxies. However, the high-speed, reliability, and low ban rates of Storm Proxies make it a worthwhile investment for businesses looking to improve their online security and privacy.

2023.06.09 10:04 TigressCrossing Can’t eat with braces!
I got my braces on yesterday and I have bite blockers (is that what they’re called??) that make it really difficult to eat. I already eat pretty badly and I feel really tired already. Because I feel really tired, it’s even harder to prepare meals I can actually eat so it’s an endless spiral..
Any easy / quick meals I can eat which require no chewing? I can’t even make my teeth meet so i can literally only have liquids. I’ve had soup and mousse but a lot of the time they don’t have much nutritional value so they barely fill me up / give me any energy lol.
Alternatively are there any techniques which would allow me to bite into stuff?

2023.06.09 10:04 strangely-evil Is that Lovecraft?
He was born in a dark place, surrounded by sharp objects that glinted ominously. It was a tin, a tin that enclosed a room—an isolated chamber where his kind no longer existed. The air was frigid, and he shivered in his solitude, a small, fragile being seeking solace. But then, his senses detected a faint warmth emanating from beneath the transparent steel surface of the tin. A flicker of hope ignited within him, propelling him to scuttle and crawl tirelessly, desperate to find a crevice leading to the depths below. After an arduous journey, he discovered a gap—a gateway to something unknown—and without hesitation, he slipped inside. A lost child in embrace of an unknown thing. It’s presence exudes an almost magnetic allure, drawing him closer against their better judgment. Inexplicable whispers, barely audible, danced upon the wind, whispering secrets known only to the warm box and the realms it represented. His curiosity, tinged with equal parts dread and fascination, grew insatiable, driving them to pry open the lid, as if succumbing to an otherworldly siren's call. The air started changing inside the box and thick white smoke came towards him. A tsunami of magical fog came upon his senses and Visions, fragmented and nightmarish, flickered through the mortal's mind, as if whispered from the darkest corners of existence. Cosmic vistas of unfathomable scale and monstrous entities beyond mortal ken assaulted their senses, leaving them trembling in awe and terror. The mortal's perception of reality wavered, the boundaries of their existence blurring, as they became entangled in the web of eldritch truths unfurled by the box. They felt as though their mortal limitations were shattered, their consciousness reaching out to touch the outer edges of a vast, incomprehensible universe. Yet, with each fleeting glimpse into the abyss, the mortal's grip on their sanity weakened. The insatiable hunger for forbidden knowledge became a devouring madness, gnawing at their mind with insidious whispers and eldritch whispers. They teetered on the precipice of a maddening revelation, their mortal identity unraveling thread by thread. The compulsion, once a tantalizing allure, now revealed itself as a merciless trap. The mortal, once captivated by the box's allure, found themselves caught in a spiral of cosmic dread, forever entwined with the enigmatic forces they had unwittingly awakened. In the end, the mortal stood as a mere vessel, shattered and consumed by the insidious influence of the square box—a tragic figure forever lost in the maddening depths of forbidden knowledge and indescribable horror. *** ‘Is that Lovecraft?’ ‘Kinda’ ‘You write great but what’s up with your A.C?’ ‘Oh. It's been making that noise since yesterday. Don’t mind it’ ‘Maybe look into it? Your room needs it too’ ‘Never judge a stoner by his room’ They lit up a blunt. Smoke got sucked by the air conditioner and something made a noise inside the hot vent again.

2023.06.09 10:03 waxzupp My cat has scabs + balding and won't stop grooming herself
Hello!
My cat has had some skin scabbing problems since we found her, but they've been getting worse. She recently got fleas (I'm not sure how because she's a fully indoor cat although my roommate has a cat who may have spread them to her). I've noticed over the past month or so that she's grooming, licking, and biting herself much more than often. In fact, it's gotten to the point that the area above her tail is nearly bald. She has scabs all over her lower back and neck. I noticed fleas about a month ago and we did a full treatment (gave her a flea bath + medication) but nothing got better. After realizing that she still had fleas a few weeks ago, I gave her another treatment. I'm worried that due to the flea itching, she is over-grooming and scratching herself and it's leading to an endless cycle of itchy scabs that she keeps making worse. Her skin is becoming more and more ulcerated and she is losing hair all over her body. Has anyone else experienced this? I know that the fleas could be a primary issue for the itchiness (I hope they are gone now after these treatments), but I also feel like the scabs she has on her body (that she had prior to having fleas, but much less) could be some sort of skin allergy? I've been feeding her omega 3 oil for the past few months but haven't noticed a difference. If anyone has an opinion on whether her skin problems are mostly due to fleas or if it is a combination of flea itching + skin issues, or solely due to fleas, please let me know. I've been meaning to take her to the vet for this issue but to be completely honest vets are very expensive and I'm worried about how much it'll cost, so if anyone knows any topical solutions I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

2023.06.09 10:03 Suspicious_Salad414 Questions about book collecting
About a year and half ago, my grandfather passed and left me his book collection - at least part of it. Most of the books are in really great condition and honestly, they have sat in a box in a closet since I got them.
A few days ago I got a little curious and wanted to look up the value of these books. This has led me having way more questions than answers - but it seems that's how it goes in book collecting! Hoping the community here can answer and perhaps help set me on a path of continuing the collection.
- Is there a good way to find exactly what edition of a book you have? There are a number of "first editions" in the collection, but google searches don't really help in many cases , and abebooks seems like there's a huge variance in "first editions"
- There are a couple of Folio society and Easton press books, it was cool to see that these are still producing quality books, but it seems that some of their titles are collectables while others are not, is there a good way to tell which of their releases are collectable?
- Which leads to my next question, if I were to continue to grow the collection, would books for folio or easton be good to look for? any other publishers today that are producing collectable editions to look into?
- Are there any "rules/guidelines" to keep in mind while looking for collectable copies of books?
- What would be the best resource to learn from for someone who is looking into getting into collecting?
- If you could give one personal piece of advice to someone in my position, what would it be?
Thanks!

2023.06.09 10:03 ShinyaNights Is breast growth on bupropion a normal or common side effect?
I’ve been on bupropion XL 150 mg for almost two months now. I’m feeling SO much better depression wise— it’s been a night and day difference!
The only weird symptom I’ve been experiencing since starting the medication is significant breast growth. I was an F cup before the medication, and I have since gone up two cup sizes since then. I haven’t gained any weight (in fact I’ve lost 4 pounds) and I’ve taken several pregnancy tests which are all negative.
My boobs feel sore and heavy today and are actually painful like they were at the beginning of puberty years and years ago. It looks like I’m probably need to go up a third cup size in a few weeks I’m guessing.
I’m really concerned. My psychiatrist just sort of shrugged it off and said she’s never had a patient complain about this issue so far besides me.
Does anyone know if bupropion causes hormonal changes that I could be unaware of? I’m so confused because I thought the med was supposed to lower prolactin. I’d hate to get off bupropion just for this issue, because otherwise it’s been a miracle for my depression.

2023.06.09 10:03 wordswithoutmusic Oliveira: "The accidents in the start season? It's not fault of the format"
Source
https://m.gpone.com/it/2023/06/09/motogp/oliveira-gli-incidenti-di-inizio-stagione-non-e-colpa-del-format.html After a troubled start to the championship Miguel Oliveira is ready to go back in riding his Aprilia RS-GP, on the track of Mugello. The first race for the Portuguese after shoulder injury left suffered in Jerez, which held him away from the track in the Le Mans Round
"I feel good. I've had five weeks to recover, which are not many to get here 100%, but I hope are enough to mount and check my condition: you can try to brake at more than 300 km/h only when returning By motorbike. The team wants it to be fully restored and competitive, so i will take more time if should I see that the shoulder will prevent me to do what they asked me, just in case contrary I will go on to address the weekend," explained the team manager RNF extension.
One of the worst weekends for re-enter, considering the difficulties of a demanding track like that of Mugello.
"That's true, but it's not me who chooses Even the Sachsenring is not the best for the left side of the body, which is proper the one where I got injured at shoulder, I'll still give my all"ha commented Miguel, convinced he had enough strength in the shoulder, per face the Tuscan ups and downs: "I'm here pilots thinner than me - he joked - Obviously I couldn't train as I usually did, especially for regarding the top of the body, because I can only do a few push-ups, I'm not a 100% pilot, but I hope it will go well"
The team director, Wilco Zeelenberg, is said worried about how he is going the season, since Oliveira is not The only rider to have already been injured twice. The person concerned, however, does not if he feels like criticizing the new format of the MotoGP weekend as far as it is success so far.
"I analyzed my every fall, including the two occasions I have injured and I think there is nothing for which I can blame the system for what happened - explained Miguel I don't think you can blame the Sprints Race for the accidents that there have been, also because most of the accidents occurred on Sunday I can only emphasize the fact that with the Sprint Race riders approach the race on Sunday having already in mind what to do or where to go and think this generates some overexcitement in the first rounds, It is not however a question of a aspect that i can't blame or what can in some way retain its the_cause, I like this system.
"We are all very fast, we all have the same devices and we all leave more or less at the same instant, because It all depends on your reaction time lights, which can vary by one or two tenths. We are all close and there is no way that someone can make a big one difference right now. That's all very tight and I believe it is treated only of bad luck - he said - The Race Direction has nothing to do with it with accidents, because I don't think so just that the decisions of the Stewards they may have to do with the aggressiveness of the pilots. I do not think someone behaves more aggressive, because the Stewards do not sanction or why they should".
"It was an exaggeration in my opinion. I don't think he should be penalized, and I was the victim in that case - he admitted Oliveira - This is how I see it I, but I am neither a judge nor God to be able to tell the absolute truth. Each one has its own interpretation. It's normal And the Stewards are also nothing but three people deciding, This is the reality"
It would be necessary to reduce the risks convince pilots to keep a more conservative approach to Sunday?
"Everyone has their own approach. Now you have the opportunity to go to points where maybe you wouldn't have expected it, on the short distance, so everyone tries to take advantage of it, while on Sunday the mentality should be different because the race is longer and you don't have need to force as you have to do al Saturday. A lot of things have happened in these first five races, but I think we'll need a full season to get a clear picture of what we can get from the double race - commented the Aprilia rider - I don't see what we could do change the format or why. Would be certainly more convenient not to have the Qualifying on Friday, but in the end it is The same for everyone"

2023.06.09 10:03 Murky_Upstairs1420 AITA for not wanting to talk to my dad and stepmon until they apologize?
Hello, I am 19F and since August last year I don´´ t want to speak with my father anymore. The reason is a huge argument with him and my stepmom. It all begun when my brother(26) and I were visiting them. My parents are divorced since I was five. The first day was all fine, but then my dad said to me, that he is happy that I was 18 now, so he could pay the child support to my bank account instead to my mums. I asked him why and he answered that I was old enough to deal with the money. I told him, that I want my mum to get the money, because I still live at home and that money is used for the rent, food, clothes etc. He insisted that I would get the money so I said okay and told him I would transfer it to my mums bank account. He did not care about that.
He also told me, that he was only paying half of the child support he paid back then, beacuse he and his wife hadnt much money anymore and I was the one who was supposed to tell my mum. I felt uneasy becaue I wasnt sure how she would react, so I asked my dad to do that. He said that I was old enough to handle this. I didnt pressure into this anymore, because I didnt wanted to destroy that one weekend I saw him in a year.
On the next evening we went to a restaurant and after that we sat in their garden and talked and drank some beer. I was a little bit drunk, because I already had two cocktails at the restaurant. I live in Germany, so it was legal, that I drank alcohol while I was 18. Anyways, in the garden we ended up on the topic of his and mums divorce. Mum never told my silblings and me much about it, because it was a bad breakup und she didnt wanted us to have a bad opinion on our dad. Dad told alot of horrible things about my mum, like she was greedy and because of her he had alot of debts and that she was ceating on him, which I didn´t believe.
After that the real fight begun, as I told my dad, that I didnt like that I had to tell my mum and I asked how he came to the conclusion that he would only pay half of the child support. He than began to cry, so his wife spoke with me, which pissed me off so much, but I tried to stay calm. My step mum told me how terrible I was for fighting with them because of money and that my dad is feeling horrible. This resulted to me into feeling bad and crying because I didnt mean to make him feel like this. Somehow we came to speak about the past and I realised that I ignored a lot of neglecting from my dad.
The thing is, my dad was never really there after he got togehter with his wive. He moved to a city, which is quite far from my home. He moved so his wive doesnt had to move with her sons. So my dad technally priotized his stepsons over his children. That is one of the reasons why my sister(23) doesnt want to have any contact with him anymore. I just ignored that. Because of his move he didnt see us as often as he used to. Then on the first weekend my siblings and I slept by my dad a lot happend which caused me to dislike his wive and why my sister and I didnt wanted to visit him anymore.
My dad didnt even seemed to care, that my sis and I didnt wanted to see him. He never asked my mum or us about it. Then for years he only visited us once a years for about three hours and he called us on our birthdays and thats it. He only wanted more contact with us as soon as I was old enough to travel with the train to him. But then he said that he feels like he is only the money giver for us. This resulted in me getting angry with him, because he never really tried to be anything else. His wive complained to me, that dealing with me and my siblings was to stressful for him and that he really wished, that he could spend more time with us.
Now I am just done with giving him any chances. He never came to any event in our childhood and he didnt even came to my graduation which he said would. And then lastly it occured that, on the weekend my brother and I were visiting him, he gave me the extendet editon from all lord of the rings movies. He bought it with my mum when it came out. I was so happy about it because I love these movies and it was the first present I got from himver since I was about six or seven. Then after all the figths he asked my brother to tell me, that he wanted his movies back. I gave it to them, because I didnt want another fight. After every argument with him or his wive I ended up crying and my mum and sister had to comfort me. So I told them, that I want speak to them, until they apologize to me about everything that happend, because they hurt me. They said, they are not going to do that.
After Christmas and my birthday my dad and stepmum send letters and mails to me, how they hope that we can celebrate these days this year togehter. Ever since I started feeling bad about not wanting to talk with him until they apologize. My brother says I am an asshole for being so resentful, while my mum and sister are saying I am in the right. So AITA?

2023.06.09 10:03 cobarbob Mild Motivational Initiative Disruption - How a small change caused some big meetings
Many many years ago when I was still just a PFY and not the grumpy BOFH I am now, I was working for a large MSP on a reasonable-sized call centre contract. We were doing tech support for one of the first internet ISPs (one with dialup scripts and everything). They had a big global presence, supported in far off exotic locations (Aus/NZ) by MSP staff.
The team was all young, a few years out of school and so while the work was work, there was fantastic comradery and late-night Half-Life sessions to sustain us to the next step in our careers.
The company was very a great taste of soul-sucking cubicle hell with 8 layers of management between us lowly serfs and anyone near the top. It was straight out of Office Space. It was basic tech support, for an ISP in a fast downward spiral, in a large and very drab low-rise office building.
We all knew this was a gateway to bigger and better things, and while there was no support from the middle to upper management, we had reasonable immediate bosses. We did our shifts and had enough fun to work towards the next job.
Somewhere along this road, upper management (who we rarely saw), had some inspiration to try and make the office a little bit less office space and more hip and cool, as was the style of the first Internet Revolution (the late 90s early 2000s).
Others had funky lounges or bean bags and crazy bright colours on the walls. Google even bought a monorail carriage as a meeting room in their Sydney office.
For us, our execs decided the solution was to hang 3 or 4 Motivation PostersTM around the office.
"If we don't take care of the customers, somebody else will". Yep those ones.
I mean if that doesn't inspire you to support a dying charged-by-the-minute dialup ISP in the beginnings of Cable and ADSL in Australia then I don't know what else will!
Arriving at the office to see this pitiful attempt at inspiration, we all collectively went "meh" and resumed the daily job of giving out dial-in numbers for different cities. The most popular ones we could do without looking them up (no need to switch from Half-life window mid-call). Life went on.
One day shortly afterwards, I arrived around 9, to discover an unusual air of quiet scandal hovering around the office. The word was quietly being passed around... senior managers are PISSED....very senior managers have been involved. THEY are NOT happy.
Why? What happened? Did a contract get cancelled? Was there a major customer complaint? How could so much attention be drawn on our little part of this big company?
As our call centre contracted stated we started at 7am, far earlier than most of the building staff. Even then only a handful of people. One especially cheeky monkey had decided at this wee hour of the morning that he would turn one of the motivational posters......upside down!
The mild amusement from his colleagues was NOT shared by the management team, who felt this was a direct affront to their valiant and incredible efforts at inspiring the workforce.
Meetings dragged on all morning. Colleagues called in as witnesses. A LOT of people had to try not to laugh over what clearly was a VERY SERIOUS issue.
We were informed we were obviously in the wrong for even attempting a mild desecration of this scared company relic, or even finding the situation amusing in any way.
Luckily the rambunctious lad who caused irreparable damage to the company's reputation internally was allowed by the good graces of our betters to remain employed.
To the relief of our immediate managers, nobody ever messed with the motivational posters again.

2023.06.09 10:03 jacqueifer Seventh Heaven - How I Finally Passed the Dubai RTA Test (Parking + Road) - A Few Tips, Tricks and Myths I Learned The Hard Way
Learning to drive - something perhaps I should have done at 18 (ample time but no car or money to learn) and at now at 36 you have the money to learn but no time. Like most working professionals in Dubai, our jobs are demanding so carving time out to learn needs to be well planned and fruitful.
If this post could do anything, I hope you can learn from my mistakes, so here goes:
- Picking Finance If you are a new driver (having never driven back home either) - take the unlimited/contract option with your driving school. It will cost nearly double the normal package but is worth it because you don't have the financial stress of paying more if you fail - I didn't think it would be this difficult to pass and I was wrong. In Dubai you need to complete 40 hours to take the test (split between parking and on road), for a new new driver this is simply not enough hours to build confidence (this is why you hear of so many stories of people repeating the test - in particular new drivers). To compare, in a Melbourne, Australia the minimum hours needed is 120.
- Picking a Driving Institution, pick wisely. Most people review the online comments to gauge how good a school is. The tip here is to talk to friends, family or colleagues that have passed out a particular branch/location. The opinion of the brands (EDI, DDC, Belhasa, Galadari) vary among people and I didn't find it an accurate measure but the branch is more important. I used Dubai Driving Institute in Al Quoz. Nice range of instructors but the location is a challenge. I will explain later in the post.
- Selecting a Driving Instructor in most cases you will be assigned a driving instructor. As a first time driver, you aren't going to know if your instructor is good or bad. What you should ask yourself after the four classes is - does this person spend a lot of time on their phone? Does this person stop my mistakes or does this person teach me how to do it correctly? The latter is more important. If you aren't learning, request for a change and don't be worried about what people will think - you are paying to be thought.
- Driving Institution Location - this is an important factor in where you learn to drive. Al Quoz is an industrial area filled with large trucks, commercial buses, vehicles and in general traffic at all times. To add to this you have drivers who aren't as courteous, will cut, will not signal, you have pedestrians crossing at undesignated areas, road cleaners and people moving on the wrong side of the road with their little scooters, cycles and mopeds. As a learning area, it reminds one a little of driving in India / Egypt. For a first time driver, perhaps there are easier routes to train in like the Dry Docks or DIP.
- Passing the Theory Test - really straight forward, complete the course and practice the mock exams theory + video scenario. There are a pool of about 300 odd questions, from which you get 40 (35 theory + 5 video scenarios) on your RTA exam. Only when you can consistently secure 90% plus on the mock exams, you should attempt the RTA Theory Test.
- Passing the Parking Test - the first tip is to practice this in the location you are doing the test. I practiced it at the Al Quoz Branch but did the test at the Al Khail branch - the reason behind this is the automated testing facility is here and you need to familiarize yourself with the automated vehicle. The second tip, which I learned from one of the senior trainers is - parking is mathematics, if you get the basics right you'll be able to park consistently. Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTeIdxINoO8&t=524s it will greatly benefit you. I passed the hill park, emergency breaking, parallel parking and angle parking on the first go. Failing only garage because I have a problem with the method from the training school.
- Garage Parking - at the school, they train you to use the sticker indication on the rear passenger window which is bonkers (its apparently a trick to help students pass you can see this in 12:06 of the video shared above). The challenge with this method is depending on your height, seat location, backrest location or whether you wear glasses all affect the angle. For the longest time I couldn't crack this as I kept getting or failing by small margins. The easiest way to pass this is to angle the car in and readjust it in front of you (the RTA allows you to do this in the test) before parking. Again here only attempt the parking when you have cleared the internal mock tests.
- RTA Myth - they have a quota of people to fail everyday, this is not true - you can either drive or not it's that simple.
- RTA Instructors - have different temperaments, if you are nervous it will reflect when you drive and they can pick up on that. Test when only when confident.
- Mental Pressure - it took me seven attempts, I remember distinctly when I failed the third time, I wanted to give up. Instead I reframed my thinking to accept that failing the test simply meant the RTA was keeping me safe by telling me I didn't have sufficient knowledge to be on the road. The second change I made was to stop comparing myself and telling people about my test - failing stopped becoming a burden.
Failures Driving Test Failures - all my failures where down to one key thing -
situational awareness. I was thought
what to do on the road but not how to think on the road. This his impacted my decision making/confidence. You can only gain situational awareness when you have been on the road long enough and hence why I would
encourage new drivers to get at least 60 to 80 hours before they take the test. Most people won't talk about their failures, I will tell you about mine with the hope you can learn from it.
- Failure 1 - attempted to cross the T junction without sufficient gap (I couldn't assess distance vs speed). What I should have done is let the speeding car pass and then cross.
- Failure 2 - this is the only one I was unhappy with the judgement. I waited 'too long' to move into a lane to overtake, I was told during the test I was failing because I will cause a traffic jam. All I wanted was a clear road to be able to safely take the car. Debatable.
- Failure 3 - turned into the second lane instead of the third lane at the U-turn. Correct thing to have done would have been to turn into the third lane.
- Failure 4 - attempted to merge on to a road without sufficient gap. I was thought to take the gap, the correct thing for a driving school car to do is to wait for a clear road where there is not debate on the distance x speed.
- Failure 5 - there was a cleaner on the road at the before signal turn (this happened in the afternoon), I slowed down and moved to the left but the correct thing to have done was slow down, blow horn, indicate to move to the left (even though the line is being cut).
- Failure 6 - I made an assumption that a taxi to my left would wait/allow me to pass but he was in a hurry and entered the round about a second before I could. I should have just waited, allowed him to pass.
Through all my tests - vehicle control, lane changes and general observance of rules was good. The lack of situational awareness cost me, especially judging distance x speed.
Tips to Pass the Test Besides the normal things, here's ten things I wish I knew before I started:
- You are likely to test in a Nissan Sunny, the steering wheel has a notch below it to adjust it. Adjust it to the top most position position, this will build familiarity in your mind and the position is always the same. An internal examiner showed me this - after five months.
- Build a routine when you get into the car - adjust seat, adjust mirrors, then seat belt, then check for passenger seat belts. This routine becomes habit and habit will give you confidence.
- When you drive, check your rear view mirror every 5-8 seconds. Improves situational awareness.
- If you turn anywhere, just indicate. Make it a habit.
- In Al Quoz, indicate about 10 meters before the turn as there are lots of little garages/shops and drivers behind might think you are going there instead.
- Assume everyone on the road is unpredictable, it will train you to be a better defensive driver.
- If you are testing in Al Quoz, I recommend to test in the morning.
- Examiners are there to test basics and observe your understanding of the road. They're never going to ask you to try a lane change when the situation doesn't permit - what they will check is your judgement of the situation.
- Don't compare yourself to others.
- The vehicle on the left has priority.
- If you finish your internal classes, test within three days.
- Know where your pedestrian crossings are. Pedestrians in Al Quoz take this space for granted.
- If you are in the left lane at a pedestrian crossing, you are expected to indicate and cross at the right - the examiner won't ask you but its expected (have seen people on the test fail for this).
- If you happen to fail, try and book classes to learn immediately - don't be dejected or give up, everyone goes through it. The quicker you learn, the quicker you are able to test again. The momentum of wanting to learn and taking the test is what will drive you.
- At a round about, learn to exit and enter from every direction. Have seen other test members in the car who are so used to doing one thing, they forget when the examiner takes them to a new route.
- Know your area you are testing in - you'll be able to anticipate the roads you are connecting and the environment before you get there.
- If testing Al Quoz, use your horn - trust me you'll need it.
- Learn to start the car (most cars are already started when you enter). Occasionally if you go first, you might be asked to start the car.
- If you're asked to lane change, don't forget to check your blind spot.
- On the day of the test, arrive a minimum 30 minutes early and say a small prayer - both of these will soothe you.
- Given how busy Al Quoz is, some of the Stop lines have faded or are covered with dust, don't let this fool you - know these spots, look for the boards and stop.
- If you don't have the confidence, don't test.
- Assuming you have practiced 80 hours thats a total of 4,800 minutes, your test is 10 minutes - you got this.
- Always remember, the RTA is out to keep you safe. If they fail you, they are saving you.
- Unlike the Parking Test where there are 5 things you are tested on, there's not menu of items you have for the Driving Test but here's the top 5 things you definitely need to know: Situational Awareness, Lane Change, U-Turns into 2 & 3 lanes, Merging, Entering/Exiting Roundabouts
Finally, seventh heaven - aced the test on this attempt. Unlike before
I was confident and calm. I arrived early, said a small prayer, did the same routine I always do when I enter the car, drove confidently - on the day had to enteexit a round about, do a u-turn, a couple of t-junctions and lane change twice - entire thing lasted ten minutes.
If you have found this post it's probably either you have failed and you are looking for some hope and guidance, I hope the above is of some use to you. To conclude, you need two key things going into the test experience and confidence. Experience comes from repetition, repetition builds confidence.
All the best.

2023.06.09 10:02 Its_DaKing Why I Quit my last Fastfood Job. (Chocolate Shake Special Ingredient)
I recently tried a management position in fastfood. The restaurant was a childhood favorite so I figured why not. They claimed upon hiring me that they would properly train me to be a manager for their store . A GM and 3 shift leads if im included My First Day I open with another shift leader. She was a transfer from another store and it was also her first day at my store. The day goes by and instead of being guided on the things that really mattered I was in the back washing dishes 😒 no problem, until my hands start burning like crazy. Turns out the sanitizer they used for dishes was extra strong that day "apparently all the other crew new this and forgot to worn me" The female shift lead took me to the back for the medical cabinet, just to find out it's missing majority of its inventory. The General Manager asked mid shift if I needed a doctor I said no.(can't afford one) my hands slightly chemical burned on the backs of my hands. I push through the rest of the day cleaning and observing the different stations I'd be working with and listening to what thing I should say, do, or look out for. Decent first day So I had thought ......... then came day two. Day Two. I open the entire store alone?!?!? It turns out the Female Shift Lead had quit and doesn't show up for day 2,3,4,5,6 each day while running a shift alone ,I'd receive a text from the gm asking if she showed up or not. Down to two Shift Leaders. I brazenly learned what needed to be done, how,and by when. On my own I learned The Opening and Closing duties of the store. For the Month I was working I'd have only 2 people each shift. About 4 people had quit in the month I had been there and I was definitely jumping ship next. Inventory missing, employees getting stoned at work, always out of something, food cost were in the crapper. Its About 3 weeks in and I come in, in the afternoon, and I'm going above and beyond to detail the store ,I decided hey let me be extra and stock everything up, I noticed from the moment of clocking in, that shakes were selling left and right out from drive thru. Made me figure hey let's make sure the syrups are nicely cleaned and stocked up.
Then I see it. I immediately sent an image to the gm ,who didn't even sound that concerned with how disgusting that is. He casually texts just clean em and I'll tell someone about it later.....yea right . Disgusting 🫣 🤮
My final straw was a 14 hour shift (morning to close) with one crew member on a Saturday. The Day before my birthday 🎂. Hell nah I did what I could to complete the shift as required, and quit on my Birthday 🥳
🍨 =🤢🤮
Ps: yes people we're in fact served from this syrup pump.not on my shift but for the GeneralManagers shift more than 3 chocolate shakes were sold on his watch 🤢🤮🤢🤮

Friday, June 9, 2023, Non Real Time Meeting
Welcome to this non-real time meeting of codependency_12steps
Hi, I’m
u/solid_jump_6828. I’m a recovered codependent and your leader for this meeting. Will those who wish, please join me in the
Serenity Prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference. Thy will, not mine, be done.
Strong sponsorship is necessary to live a recovered life. Sponsors are recovered codependents committed to living the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions to the best of their ability. Sponsors share their program up to the level of their experience and strengthen their recovery through this service to others. To find a sponsor, look for someone who has what you want and ask how he or she is achieving it.
Will all sponsors please identify themselves in their post? Suggested guidelines for sharing: As you share your experience and strength, please also share your hope. Please confine your sharing to your experience with the illness of codependency, the solution offered by the twelve steps and your own recovery from codependency, rather than just the events of the day or week. When responding to other member’s posts, please focus on your personal experience rather than advice giving. If you are having difficulties, share how you use the program to deal with them. If you need to talk more about your difficulties and seek solutions, we suggest you speak to your sponsor and other members after the meeting.
Share on how this paragraph relates to the illness of codependency and the solution offered by the Twelve Steps. Today we are studying the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, Page 70: "Suppose we fall short of the chosen ideal and stumble? Does this mean we are going to get drunk? Some people tell us so. But this is only a half-truth. It depends on us and on our motives. If we are sorry for what we have done, and have the honest desire to let God take us to better things, we believe we will be forgiven and will have learned our lesson. If we are not sorry, and our conduct continues to harm others, we are quite sure to drink. We are not theorizing. These are facts out of our experience."
Alcoholics Anonymous, Fourth Edition (p. 70). Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc.
Closing: Freedom from codependency is possible by living a Twelve Step way of life. The *Big Book of Alcoholic Anonymous and a recovered sponsor are all you need to get started. Feel free to reach out by private message to newcomers, returning members, and each other. From the Big Book page 164: "Ab"If a mere code of morals or a better philosophy of life were sufficient to overcome alcoholism, many of us would have recovered long ago. But we found that such codes and philosophies did not save us, no matter how much we tried. We could wish to be moral, we could wish to be philosophically comforted, in fact, we could will these things with all our might, but the needed power wasn't there. Our human resources, as marshalled by the will, were not sufficient; they failed utterly."andon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to Him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.
May God bless you and keep you- until then." *Why the Big Book? Time and experience have proven it to be the most successful approach to the Steps no matter what the addictive problem may be (this includes codependency). We also know it to be the purest 12 Step document in existence. It worked for the founders of Twelve Step and it works for us today. If you don't have a copy of the Big Book you can access one for free:

2023.06.09 10:02 6475bee I don't know how I can move forward. I want to stop being friends with my best friend
I don't want to be her friend anymore and I regret how much of my life I have shared with her. We both struggle with mental health so I thought I could open up and she would get it. Right now she just went on a fucking power trip and threw everything I had ever told her about my struggles in my face because I didn't want to talk about what happened today. I feel so much regret for opening up I have had moments when I thought she over stepped before but I let it go. Now she tells me she wants to call for a wellness check on me because I don't want to talk about what happened to me today but I told her it wasn't good. She said she would give me time. How much time? 6hours. She called me and said that she thought I was hiding something because I wasn't talking about what happened and she thinks it has to be something bad. I have a terrible abusive home life. I thought she understood what it was like to have suicidal thoughts since she's been struggling with it so long. She has refused to talk to me for 3days because she didn't feel good and wanted space. I got 6 hrs. If she didn't know so much I would tell her we're done for this little stunt. I know she will just tell people about the worst parts of my life in the guise of being worried I might hurt myself if I tell her to not talk to me again. There's also the fact that I'm in a bad situation and I have no support oof how I hate her right now though. I don't know if we'll get back to normal again. I will pretend to be open so she doesn't blow up my life besides that I'm fucking over it. I used to say that I had no idea what would break up the friendship. This, fucking threatening me with the things I have shared with you so you can extract more information. How fucking dare you. I loved her dearly until this very conversation even if I could clearly see she had her faults I would let it slide knowing I'm not fucking perfect but this? THIS! I'M NOT GIVING HER ANOTHER CHANCE TO BE CLOSE TO ME.

2023.06.09 10:02 wt_anonymous I feel like in another life I would have been a carpenter
When I was younger, I spent time with my great grandpa in his basement where he had a whole woodworking shop set up. I would make things with him occasionally and I honestly enjoyed doing it.
I'm currently studying computer science as it's also something I enjoy, but a small part of me still sort of wants to back to wood work. I haven't really done anything like that in over a decade.
It wasn't that I didn't consider carpentry though, I did. But I don't think I could realistically do it. I'm not very good with my hands. I once tried to help my dad with his work (he's an electrician) and I could not keep my hands steady to save my life. And in general I'm not a physically capable person... I spend all day indoors and don't exercise as much as I probably should. I'm not really equipped to deal with the long and physically intensive hours of a carpenter.
But I think, maybe in another life it might have happened. If maybe I had more experience with it going into my adolescent years, I was a more physically competent person, and the pay was better (it's not great where I live, not for how difficult it is), then maybe it would have happened.
To be honest I guess I've always kind of admired people who could just make things with their hands. Ceramic work can be pretty cool too. Stuff like that just feels like it has a lot more practical use than what I'm studying to do for a living.
