I have never posted on Reddit before so bare with me please. I am at a loss for what to do. A little bit of back story.
I live in Salt Lake County and have an 8 year old son. It is with someone whom I have never married. We tried to make it work but I just didn't love this woman, LOVE my son to pieces. When I told her this was t going to work we went to mediation and 8 got a lawyer (which I was told was great). Come to find out I am now missing on a lot of rights I could have had as a father and have the absolute bare minimum a father can have in the state of Utah. Which is horrible for me as I wish I could spend more time with my son, and he says the same thing everytime we have him. I have married, to the most wonderful woman, have a step daughter and a 1 year old daughter. Recently I went to the courts to try and get more time withy son, but unfortunately the view point of the state of Utah is, if it's not broken, don't fix it. Regardless of the desire of the child.
Anyways... We follow the state statute for child custody (30-3-35). There have been some recent adjustments to the statute and in so I was allowed to pick my summer vacation dates first. I am the non custodial parent, so in turn I get 2-2 week periods. One where we exchange days of the week, the other where I have a 2 week uninterrupted time. The dates I chose were June 12-26th and June 29th-July 13th(which is the uninterrupted portion).
We get along for the most part, but we have our moments. However she is not happy with the dates I chose for some reason. She claims that I MUST start my vacation on Fridays of my weekend (we alternate weekends). I have searched the statute and can't find anywhere, where this is stated or even implied. I responded that if she can provide proof that if it is in the statute I would change my dates to be in compliance. Her response was that that's just the way it's done, she has friends in a similar situation and that's the way they do it. I responded saying that just because others do it that way doesn't mean I am bound by their choices. I am following the state statute and that there is no mention of me (the noncustodial parent) to start it on my Fridays. I again replied that if she could show me in the statute, even case law, I would change but she just responded by belittling me and saying I am unreasonable.
Another part is that she was complaining of the short break inbetween my vacation times. Granted it is just a couple days it works better for the plans we have made for the summer. Again I don't see anything in the statute saying that there is a minimum or maximum time in between vacations. The only thing it says is that they MAY, be continuous.
I am representing myself because I can not afford an attorney. I tried calling her attorney to get clarification since she is refusing to provide any evidence of her claims and of course they didn't answer or respond. I will try again, but am not hopeful.
I feel that if I show up on the 12rh to pick up my son for or vacation time that she will refuse to let me take son. Being in the state of Utah, the police will show up for "keep the peace" but they will not enforce the parent time as that is up to interpretation, and many people have different stipulations to their parenting agreement, so I get that. But because she is the custodial parent whatever she says goes, unless I take her to court and I can't afford to take her over and over again.
Should I show up and hope she is reasonable. Or should I try and ask for a keep the peace officer to see if police presence persuades her. I don't want to intimidate, but I feel as though I am going to loose out on my summer time with my son.

Hello, I am trying to find someone that might be interested in a 2010 chevy tahoe as a project truck, or that wants the solid 5.3 that's in it or the new transmission I just put in it about a year ago. I know I would have trouble selling it to a dealership and I don't feel right selling it to someone who doesn't know how to work on cars cause it would need some work. It has a salvaged title, that I bought it with, like an idiot. It ran amazing for the first couple years I had it, then I started having a fuel delivery issue and I have been chasing that ever since. It still starts and runs good, but it has gotten to the point that it takes a couple trys to get it to turn over. I've replaced the ruel pump and the module, I've taken it to the dealership and they said to replace those two things. That was after I had done all the work. I live in Utah and it ran perfectly all throughout the winter and only started acting up again once spring hit. I'm hoping someone in here might be nearby and want it, I just want to be able to pay it off and be done with it. Again I live in Utah, about 45 mins from salt lake. Please let me know if there is any interest out there, or any good suggestions, I just need some help! I can take pictures if there is interest. Thanks everyone!

Hello, I (27m) am currently dating a member (23f) who has expressed since the beginning of our relationship last August all of her gripes with, doubts of, and disillusionment from the LDS church sheโs dealt with for several years before I even met her. Sheโs from one of those extraordinarily strict and obsessively perfect Mormon families you hear about in horror stories, and I am looking for ways to encourage her to leave it behind.
I have lived in Salt Lake City, Utah all my life and have been an atheist since I was about 13. I was never very religious as a child, and my family is not LDS, though Iโve had some experience with the church through living here. Like I said, when i started dating my girlfriend, she told me she was a member but was very disillusioned from the church because of multiple valid reasons; I would not have started dating her were it not for this fighting spirit and resistance to the BS she had.
Recently in the last couple of months however, she admitted to me that she has been feeling like returning to the church so that she could be a better person, and wants me to convert so that she can marry me and get sealed in the temple. Obviously this is physically impossible, so itโs caused a great deal of friction between us and I am now looking into ways of bringing her back out of it, or ending it with her before it gets too difficult to do so.
I recently learned about the CES Letter, and I am wanting to know if this is a reliable source of information that I could share with her, and also if I even should share it with her. Iโm wanting to know if Iโm even doing the right thing here in wanting her to get out of it for good. Sheโd be leaving everything behind, and her family, while unfair and downright cruel to her, is basically all sheโs ever known due to her upbringing. I feel like Iโm trying to save her from the jaws of the beast and if I let her go Iโd be leaving her to the wolves. Sheโs an amazing woman and I want to be happy with her but I just donโt know if Iโm within my right to destroy her faith, however shaky or invested in the wrong place it is.

The mine would be so close it would literally drill beneath Park property. It is also right next to the Presque Isle River, and only a few miles from Lake Superior, which is 10% of the world's surface fresh water. Only two weeks ago copper was denied status as a critical mineral by the U.S. Geological Survey. So there is absolutely NO NEED to be fast-tracking a mine next to so many important ecological and recreational resources. Porcupine Mountains State Park is the largest State Park in Michigan, it is the largest old growth forest in the Midwest, it is the only State Park that is designated wilderness, and it needs to be protected. This company is also located in an expensive city, a studio apartment in the area costs around 55% of my monthly paycheck after taxes. However, I really like the job and feel that working with a startup in this role will help me in making meaningful contributions in the field of science. In addition to research activities, I will also be helping them with manufacturing, document preparation and laboratory maintenance.
I was also made another offer recently, from a bigger, well-established CDMO for a QC Analyst role. The pay is almost 17K USD more than what I was being offered at the startup. Additionally, they are offering me a great benefits package. This position is also located in a southern state with a significantly lower CoL (I also currently live here). I have a good amount of research experience in research labs from my undergrad as well as master's. However, I have never worked in a QC role before. I have heard that QC can get repetitive and boring. I feel that working in this role however could help me get accustomed to a GMP environment and I can use that to my leverage in future positions as well (in R&D as well as QC).
While I am truly more interested in the research position, I feel that it would lead me to struggle financially. I am also not hesitant to gain QC experience. I am confused about which role to pick and thought your advice would help me in making a more informed decision, thank you!

Alright, so here's the deal. I've been wanting to do a full playthrough of a Zelda game for a long while now, but never really had the opportunity to do so until recently. I only had a PS2 growing up, and when I got to college I prioritized getting a PS4 over any other console, so I only had a few brief chances to play LoZ when either a friend or a roommate let me play for a few minutes or a couple hours. The furthest I've gotten in any game was the second dungeon of Ocarina of Time, the one where you fight that salamander thing as child!Link in fire mountain... but hell, I actually really enjoyed it, even if it felt a bit clunky here and there (due to being an older game).
So when I heard how great Breath of the Wild was, and how much of a game changer it was, it naturally went on my backlog of games I want to play. So when I FINALLY get a switch, BotW was one of the first games I buy/download. Here I was, excited to REALLY play a Zelda game and enjoy this series that I had been low-key fascinated with off and on since I was like six years old. I boot up the game, and begin playing... only to die over and over again of times just trying to get to the four towers and dungeons on the plateau where you start. The old man who wants to give you the paraglider is a bit of an annoying jerk that rubs me the wrong way, the robots snipe me when I'm just trying to find the quickest way from point A to point B, and my damn weapons keep breaking before I have a chance to really get used to them or do so right in the middle of combat when I have little or no other tools to replace them with, the environmental affects that require proper clothing are annoying (the number of times I died just trying to cross or work my way around that lake up in the freezing mountain area... grrrrrr!), etc. I've tried picking it back up every so often, only for me to stare at the screen and not even move my character, lose interest 5 minutes into my intended play session, and/or rage quit due to too many deaths or something annoying me just enough to go do something else. I REALLY want to like this game and enjoy it but at this point... I feel like it's, at best, a meh experience at best and can't bring myself to actually work my way through it. Its just not fun...
For context, I have ADHD and so its not uncommon for me to both become randomly and stubbornly engrossed in playing one single game for hours/weeks on end, and just drop one game randomly in favor of another game that I suddenly just randomly desire to play five minutes into a gaming session. It's also common for me to go days or weeks not playing anything, then splurge for weeks playing on my consoles. I don't mind open world games or platforming. I've EATEN up Days Gone, God of War, and the one Assassin's Creed game I actually played. I LOVE story games, as I've played the hell out of the first Last of Us. I ate up Sonic games when I was younger and still enjoy playing Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Strategy games? Played StarCraft II for half my life at this point, despite how rage inducing it can be. FPS? I'll play a casual game of Halo (if my buddy owns it and is willing to do multiplayer), or CoD Zombies despite the fact that I suck at them. Arcade games? Pacman and Tetris can keep me occupied for a good hour if I'm in the right mood, and Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate is literally the game I play the most on my laptop currently. As far as Nintendo games, I've regularly played Animal Crossing and Pokemon Shining Pearl the most (and Pokemon barely interested me until recently. What is wrong with me. !!!), with the occasional short dabble into Super Mario Maker 2 or Super Smash Bros Brawl in small doses.
I've stubbornly persisted with games that have annoying mechanics, or things that I "hate" before, and still ended up enjoying myself to some extent. Hell, the damn fairy in OoT is damn irritating as hell, arguably mores than old man paraglider. So why the is it that this particular Zelda game is so off-putting to me?

Long version, I was looking at the play variations page on the 2.0 wiki and found some cool looking furball formats that my local group wants to try. The versions put out by Game Night Games in Salt Lake City, reference a version where you join the team that killed your ship, but I canโt seem to find it even after many google searches. The versions put out by Game Night Games in Salt Lake City, reference a version where you join the team that killed your ship, but I canโt seem to find it even after many google searches. Does anyone know the rules for this version? It looks really interesting
