I (27M lvl 3) am both autistic and physically disabled and my physical disability requires a lot of help. I live in the U.S. My Autism can also gravely endanger me via my physical disability (a connective tissue disorder). My doc has prescribed several mitigations (A safety bed, a medical car seat, and a tether) all of which is being either refused or I am being denied help with by my group home organization. I am fearing for my life and no one cares to help me. I have reported this multiple times to Adult protective services, Kansas Department of Aging and disability services hotline, my county district attorney’s office, kansas attorney general’s office, Kansas legal services, the county DDO, KBI, Kansas crime hotline, Kansas medicaid ombudsman, and kansas LTC ombudsman and local law enforcement. No one wants to help me. I am begging for help from any agency that will hear my cry for help.
I don’t know who to talk to; but, I am fearful for my life and I need help badly.

My ex was convicted of perjury and has been on probation. She got charged with a probation violation because she was pulled over and got a ticket for driving without privileges in another county. The hearing on the PV was held, but the DWP case wasn't finished yet. They added what's labeled as an "Admit/Deny Hearing" on the schedule that was supposed to happen a couple of days ago. Assuming to see how the DWP case goes.
She has her DWP hearing and the case is dismissed. The Admit/Deny Hearing was held a couple of days ago, but now it shows there is another Admit/Deny hearing scheduled for later in the month. The notes on the case say the hearing was held, so I don't think it was continued. They have done that in this case quite a bit in the past and it usually says "continued" in the notes.
I'm not sure if it matters, but this is in Idaho.

She ended up perjuring herself about a year after convicted of perjury. The evidence of that was brought up when she applied to be released from probation early. The judge ignored the additional evidence (defense said these charges were due to a heavily contested custody case), but denied the early release since it was a little over halfway through a 3 year probation.
The prosecutor told me he wanted to bring new charges for the new perjury, but I don't see any new charges for that. I'm tempted to ask the prosecutor what this hearing is, but the case is still ongoing and my public records requests have been denied due to this reason anyway. I'm sure he's really busy as well, so I don't want to cause more headache for him.
I really just want to know.. what is an Admit/Deny Hearing?

So I have a friend (23F) that has struggled with mental health for a while. About a month ago her boyfriend broke up with her which compounded her mental health issues and she ended up getting herself admitted to a mental hospital for about a week. Once she was out she matched with someone (27M) while she was visiting a different city. They talked for about two weeks before he bought her plane tickets and a hotel room in Las Vegas as he says he is moving from the city where they matched to Las Vegas. She also has a very open social media page where she has made clear that she is struggling mentally at the moment. She also does Only Fans to make money. Most of her close friends have told her that it seems like a dangerous trip to go on, but she is set on going. I am considering informing her parents of the situation or maybe her aunt. This would undoubtedly cause her to cut me out of her life which I’m okay with if it comes down to it. Essentially I believe that there are other ways to meet this (27M) bumble match in a safe way that does not involve flying across the county to meet someone for the first time. Essentially I’m afraid she is about to be potentially sex trafficked.
I feel like the nuclear option for me would be to inform her family, but would that be an overstep? I don’t feel like I could live with the guilt of something horrific happened on her trip to meet this person. Am I over reacting here?
Additional context (23F) has had multiple abusive relationships in the past. She has been using drugs (cocaine, percocets, weed, whippets) most of the day, everyday since she was released from the mental hospital) (23F) and (27M) have been texting throughout the days since they matched, and have started FaceTiming frequently as well, sometimes for hours at a time. (23F)’s parents pay her bills. The OF money is essentially for personal use. Her father is fairly abusive based on what she has told me. She has a good relationship with her mother and aunt.
Considering that context, I don’t believe that she would be able to truly get a read on if this (27M) is dangerous or not in her current mental state. And I don’t believe there is anyway for her to guarantee her safety in this situation. On top of that, if she did get weird vibes she would feel more obligated to ignore them as she would be dependent on (27M) for her flight home and her hotel room. Which he said he has his own place, but figured she would feel more comfortable in a hotel room so he booked her a room for a week.
I’m I overreacting about the situation? Additionally, as a friend of maybe 5 years, would it be a gross overstep to inform her family? After all she is an adult at this point.

BRANDYWINE, Md. - A man faces several charges for using a dating app to set up meetings with victims who he allegedly raped or robbed in Prince George's County.
Prince George's County Police said Rodney Richardson, 26, of Brandywine faces several charges related to the two incidents including rape, kidnapping, handgun offenses, and armed robbery.
According to investigators, Richardson is accused of using a fake name on Tinder to set up meetings with his victims.

Police claim that during the encounter, Richardson also stole the victim's phone and wallet.
Police said then on February 10, Richardson met another adult male victim through a dating app. The incident was reported to officers on Sunday.
The victim met with Richardson at a church before getting into his car and going to his house.
Once at the house, the Richardson allegedly tied the victim's hand, told him to lay down in the trunk and began raping him at gunpoint.
Police said Richardson watched the victim throughout the night, before forcing the victim on the next day, to drive to a bank and take out more than $4,000 for Richardson.

Does anyone on here deal with Georgia Probation Management? If so what's your experience with them because mine has been SHIT. Thier reviews on Google are low as shit but honestly well deserved. Mainly dealing with Forsyth County but I'm just curious of anyone else's experiences with this shitty ass excuse for a Probation office.
I got arrested for violating probation every tho I did everything they'd asked of me. Spent 8 days in jail and now I'm on probation again but totally feel like I have PTSD from the whole experience bcuz they quite literally NEVER answer anyone

So my wife filed for divorce in January 2022. I’ve been looking online in my county and city for any movement of the case and there’s nothing. I asked my ex what’s going on with that because she and I agreed that we wanted this done quickly in January 2022 I was not in the best mental state at the time I just gotten out of the hospital two months prior, she makes nearly 6 figures and right now I’m awaiting a disability appeal and there’s no maintenance at all considering we were married over 24 years. What do I do? Oh yeah, we have one minor child and one adult child.

I posted some partial cycle recaps under a different account and wasn't going to post another one, but as a super non-trad/FGLI/slow applicant I thought this might be useful: I'll go over stats, goals, app process responses, background, and my decision/reflections. It's long but hopefully helpful.
Stats: 3.65, 174, T-2 softs, FGLI, nURM, 10-years work experience (5 in more prestigious work; 5 in service industry), big public undergrad (T-100ish)
Goals: federal clerkship, federal gov work (DOJ--OLC, NLRB), unicorn PI, in-house, politics (maybe). Very justice oriented, open to opportunities I don't know about yet.
App Process:

• I had dropped out of undergrad after my first semester, when my GPA was literally 0.9 (I actually withdrew partway into the second semester so got a bunch of "W"s as well--but thank goodness I did or my GPA would have been totally irretrievable).
• About 3 years later, I got involved in politics and decided I wanted to go to law school. Went back and finished my undergrad, 2017-2020. Picked an easy major at the advice of a law prof I knew (god bless her for that advice) and got all A's and a lot of A+'s which weighted my GPA enough to get me back in the game. (I know folks have ~opinions~ on this strategy, but I was also working full time and overcoming that 0.9, so I don't feel bad about it.)
• Graduated in 2020 with highest honors
• Spent the terrible summer of 2020 self-studying for the LSAT: I used a Kaplan book and paid $100 for the unlimited practice tests. Studied 15-20 hours/week for about 10 weeks; took the August 2020 LSAT Flex (3 sections, remote proctored--which was super creepy). Got a 174 and didn't look back! I'm super glad I buckled down and focused and didn't have to take it more than once: everyone is different, but overall I'd recommend this over half-assed studying for longer...just rip off the bandaid.
• I was originally going to apply for 2022 matriculation, so I contacted my academic references in 2020 to establish that they would be willing to submit a LOR for me the next year: this was really key because I ended up waiting to apply, and it would have def been harder to get those LORs if I'd waited to ask/they forgot about me.
• Decided to wait another year to apply b/c I love my job and also wanted to save more money. Spent the time getting promoted a couple times and winning some awards to beef up my app. Applying slowly (having my LSAT done for years before applying) was actually a huge stress reliever and I definitely made apps more feasible while working FT.
• Started working on my PS/DS in spring/summer 2022. I wrapped my journey through trauma/abuse into both of them, but tried to not "trauma dump." I def recommend having a variety of friends read these, esp. if you have tough stuff to read, because you want to disclose enough the reader knows what you've overcome but not too much...
• Finalized professional LORs in spring 2022.
• Applied October 2022 to all schools, following 8 weeks of spending 20 hours/week on essays (in retrospect I should have done more for my essays earlier! It was seriously way more intense and grueling than I expected. I spent probably 40 hours on my PS, conservatively).
• Essays submitted: PS and DS for all (DS by other names for some, but same idea). Submitted GPA addendum for all schools and a separate statement for schools that asked specifically about academic probation. Used the same PS for all schools including Berk (it was 3 pages). Didn't submit a "why X" to any schools. For SLS, submitted the library essay and teaching essay.

Background:
I won't tell my whole life story, but these are components that were relevant to my app

• Grew up very poor with a single dad and my mom wasn't involved. Dad was very abusive (physically, emotionally). Parents were blue collar but my dad's parents had gone to college (most schools considered this FG, though not Penn--read the fine print.)
• Went to a very good public high school that gave me a solid academic background as well as exposure to wealthy people and academics: this made a big difference in seeing how life could be.
• Went to flagship state school, declared STEM major the first time around. Had a lot of PTSD and trouble handling my trauma, which led to failing everything my first semester.
• Dropped out, started working in the restaurant industry. Worked 60+ hours/week to save money and support my own deadbeat husband and his brother (got married at 19; divorced at 23).
• We organized a union at the restaurant and I was a leader, helped negotiate the contract, and was a union steward. Got involved in local politics from this and found out I'm really good at organizing/politics. Volunteered heavily in politics for several years before getting a paid campaign job (county council race). Got a better campaign job (county commissioner) that parlayed into government work. Worked my way up in local gov to be the top non-elected position in county gov. Established reputation as lead political consultant in local/state politics.
• This work/volunteer experience put me in contact with people who have been incredible mentors to me and given me opportunities I wouldn't have been able to imagine just a few years ago. This includes: political leaders, elected officials, law school professors, partners at major law firms, etc. This also gave me a really well-rounded idea of what I could do as an attorney and a lot of people who I could ask questions off/learn about the profession. I cannot over-stress how life changing this has been: I wouldn't have even applied to schools like SLS without their encouragement and logistical support. As a FGLI person, I realize what a HUGE privilege this is. I have turned this around into being a mentoLOR writer for a lot of young people, esp. FGLI ones, women, and BIPOC, and their successes give me so much joy.

Decision/Reflections:

• I had committed/deposited to UVA when I got the SLS response (late April). Even before I got fin aid info, I knew it would be hard to turn down, and then with fin aid it was a no brainer. I'll add that I am pretty debt averse but my mentors really pushed me to accept at SLS regardless of what the cost was going to be. I think it's good to be debt averse, but I also think there's a time to take a risk; risk aversion can be a trauma response (it is for me), and having mentors who could see the bigger picture (i.e. opportunities SLS will give me) has been a really helpful perspective.
• This is NOT a "I pulled myself up by my bootstraps and you can too" story. Yes, I have worked very hard, but I have also been super lucky (right place, right time). In LSAT terms, hard work is a necessary but not a sufficient condition for my successes: many other people work just as hard but don't get a break like this, and I realize the randomization in life and law school admissions. As my sister put it "You did the work of standing in line to buy a lottery ticket, and you got a winning ticket."
• I also have a lot of privilege despite being FGLI: white, cis/het, able-bodied, well spoken by rich/white standards (no accent, good grammar). It's gross, but I know that people who are BIPOC, LGBTQIA2+, fat, disabled, or speak with an accent are judged more harshly; and I want to acknowledge my "palatability" even when I'm the youngest/poorest/least educated/only woman in the room.
• Fuck the LSAC. I paid thousands of dollars (app fees, LSAT, practice tests), etc., because I made too much for the waivers but not enough to be able to afford that comfortably. Barriers like costs, applying for waivers, etc. only serve to make a private company money and hold back poor people. I am grateful for mentors who urged me to suck it up and spend more on apps for better odds at acceptance/$$$ (and for being able to afford that).
• I have a really hard time allowing myself to feel proud of myself (in general), but I am proud of myself for this.

Hello fellow denizens of the box (or van...or Rescue)! I'm not new to EMS, but wasn't sure if this post would be better here or over at the main sub. I've very recently been boosted into a more senior role at my small rural third service, and it's going well...mostly. Some of the new more admin-flavored stuff is unfamiliar and I'd really like to do shit right.
I've been voluntold to write up a new set of "house rules" for our quarters, since 99% of us commute from somewhere else (I live in a different county, 2 1/2 hours away, though most of the rest of us live a bit closer). Most of our shifts are around 72 hours, but due to the weather and being the only ALS service in a 50-ish mile radius it can often be longer. So we're here a lot, and some former coworkers unfortunately took that to the extreme.
Since I'm not allowed to just post "Clean up after yourselves. We're adults, not firefighters!" is apparently not professional enough, I'd love some of your suggestions. Especially since we're onboarding quite a few (at least for us) new folks, so we'd like to get them started out on the right foot both professionally and interpersonally.

On 27th February 2018, Crystal Gossett, 45, also known as Denise Gossett, died at a fire at her rented three-bedroom bungalow on Molly Road, in Derrylin, a remote village in County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland.
Her son, Roman Gossett, 16, also known as Edward, died too, as did his sister, Sabrina Gossett, 19, also known as both Elektra and Diane, and Sabrina’s 16- or 18-month old daughter, known as Morgana or Morganna Gossett or Quinn. The English family had lived in the bungalow for over a year, having moved from Doncaster, England, and then Tralee in County Kerry in Ireland.
As black clouds billowed, Tommy Fee and two neighbours beat through a door and window to try to save the family. Fee was the landlord and still suffers flashbacks. As the emergency services arrived, another man was noticed standing outside. This was Daniel Sebastian Allen, also known as Samuel Quinn, who was at the time 27 and who lived with the family.
Today, Allen’s been convicted of the murders of the three youngest victims and the manslaughter of Denise. His original claim was that he was innocent, then that he lit the fire as part of a suicide pact was formed between him and the two adult women, and that the youngest two were already dead. On the day of the trial, he admitted guilt for the murder of the three youngest. The case for a suicide pact with Denise, at least, was “acceptable to the prosecution.” Due to the guilty pleas, the prepared evidence was not heard.
The family are survived by Samantha, the older sister of Edward and Diane, who lived in Birmingham, England with her husband James Dickens. Other than James or the landlord, nobody seems to have known those who died.
Although this case is now closed, so many questions remain. Why did it take so long to establish the names of the victims? Why was Allen living with them? What grounds are there for a suicide pact being acceptable? Why does Allen’s fake surname align with one of the names of the baby, when the landlord refers to Denise as “the partner” in an interview? What was actually happening behind closed doors in this remote village?

Hi all,
I hope this is okay to post here. My fiancé and i are living abroad. We are getting married in Cleveland next month, and we are looking at the marriage licenses.
It says you can pick them up at the Cuyahoga county probate court if you are getting married in Cleveland even if you don’t live there.
I have done the pre registration online and now we are planning on getting the actual document in person. The website says no appointment necessary and to just show up.
Does anyone have experience with this? Are the wait times bad? Is it just as simple as showing up with the documents and leaving?
Any experiences help!

This is the closest thing I have had to a supernatural experience, it's not exactly scary and it's not action packed. But it's very unexplained with what could have been a very nasty injury for one of my friends involved with the story.
So it happened around 2013 or so. I live in a seaside county in England, which has lots of old buildings and locations that can be 100's of years old. This story takes place in a very old and fairly famous seaside town of Whitstable.
Me and my group of friends were out in the evening just hanging out and enjoying the evening. There was about 5 or 6 of us and we were walking along the beech front on our way back to a friends to spend the night. Where we were was much lower down than the street view, so the road and all the houses were above us on a hill so when you look up you can see street lights, undercover benches to view the sea from, a few public toilets and a little refreshment stop that is open during the summer.
As we approached the path that leads up the side of the hill to the road and sidewalk above us, I wanted to have a quick pee as I didn't think I could hold it until we got back to my friends house. So I quickly mentioned I was going to go up next to something we have on our beeches called a breakwater, basically wooden fences that go into the sea to restrict large waves. As I went to do the deed its pitch black on the seafront as its at night and the only light available is that of the streetlights from up the hill. So naturally your eyes are drawn to it. As I was doing the deed, I noticed something odd while looking up. Where this little public toilet was up on the hill, it had a sign with a spotlight which illuminates the sign at night, but doesn't create much light pollution around it. Simply a spotlight effect pointing down underneath. Baring in mind this is probably 100 meters or so away from me at this point so its very hard to distinguish details, but while I was looking up I saw what looked like a woman standing under the light. Wearing a full Victorian style blue dress and a straw hat, looking out over the sea.
I just kept looking and trying to figure out what I was looking at, this is around 10 at night and the streets are devoid of people, why would this person just be standing under a light by herself? So once I was finished I ran back to my group who were walking ahead and called to them saying I've seen someone standing up by that street light wearing a Victorian dress. Naturally everyone just brushed it off, but when I rallied them to follow me up the slope to the street view they followed me inquisitively. I could still see the woman there as I approached the hill, but as you get closer because of the location of the light and the steepness of the hill. It gets obscured by the hill itself. SO now out of view we still make our way to the top and once we were there, nothing. No one is there. We look up and down the street and there are no obstructions or places to hide. There is a tennis court with a road ahead of us, the toilets to the left which are locked and open road to the right. The only thing that could be used as a potential hiding place is a undercover shelter over the road from us but its empty. Baring in mind I lost vision of this person for literally 20 seconds while power walking up this slope so to disappear in a massive bulky dress would take an Olympic amount of athleticism to run that fast.
So we are perplexed and I'm sure people wouldn't have believed what I saw if not for what was left underneath the light on the street where the woman was standing. The straw hat. Naturally as young adults we just made jokes, picking up the hat and wearing it. Making jokes about it being a ghost etc. So naturally, we did what any self respecting young adult would do when faced with the super natural. We took the hat back to my friends house to spend the night with it.
As we were back at my friends house, we went into his room. Which was a cabin his parents had installed in his garden to give more room to his family as the house they live in is a bungalow and there not much room to move. And nothing odd was happening, just discussing the oddity that had happened and other normal things.
The first sign things were getting strange was as we were sitting on his bed, he had this large canvas print behind his bed. Whilst we were just sitting their talking to each other, it fell off the wall and landed on my friends back. Luckily its not heavy so it didn't hurt, but needless to say we began to question things. He chalked it off to it being us as its happened before so we cracked a few jokes and started to get ready to sleep.
Our sleeping layout was our friend in his bed, me next to him and whoever else on the floors. In the darkness we often chatted before sleeping so we did this as usual, before settling down to sleep. As it quietened down there was only the sound of us breathing, until we hear a bang and one of our friends yells "Ahh!" Now, context for this next part. My friend loved to decorate his room with things, and one of these types of things he decorated with were these metal plaques. Similar to a small number plate but with pictures and slogans on them, which he had hung off of nails on the roof rafters of his cabin room. They were fairly secure as they had screw holes to be mounted, so they weren't being propped up anywhere or anything. They were fairly cheaply made by their look so they weren't exactly well machined meaning they had very sharp corners.
So once we hear our friend make noise we all kinda woke up and what was that. We turn the lights on and one of these plaques has come off of the nails, which required lifting to do and all the nails were still in the rafters. And fallen down right next to our friends head, impaling one of the corners into his wooden floor, sticking straight up. Needless to say this could have been a serious injury if only a few inches to the left.
So after that we just decided nope to this, picked up the hat threw it outside. Once we had done that we agreed we would burn it the next day and tried to fall back to sleep, which we did as there were no more incidents that night. We proceeded to burn the hat in the morning and never had any other incidents from that day forward. But my story remains.
As I said not exactly scary, but it is 100% true from the best of my recollection. All the major points are accurate and I cannot say if all the events are linked, but its all extremely coincidental. Plus the seafront has a very old and very big Hotel called The Marine, which was built originally in the late 1800's which was rebuilt in the 1900's. If there is any relation to the woman I saw and the supernatural, it could possibly be related to the age of that Hotel, who knows. But it has stuck with me for the last 10 or so years, could have been longer as I can't exactly remember the date. But what I saw and what happened preceding that day will stick with me, simply because I cannot explain it.
I can get pictures of the public toilet and street light we found the hat under if people are interested but its just that, a light and street sign.

By top university I mean a top 25 university like Vanderbilt or NYU. I wanted to ask in the sub a2c but nobody talks about KC there so I thought people here would know more.

Kelley Louise Howard was a 41-year-old married woman and mother who worked as a dental hygienist at Riverside Family Dentistry in Riverside Alabama. She lived in Pell City Alabama with her husband Boyd, whom she was married to for 8 years. Kelley also had an adult son. On June 2nd, 2009 around noon Kelley was talking on the phone with her mother while in the Riverside Family Dentistry office, during the conversation someone came to the office door and Kelley ask her mother to wait for a moment while she answered the door. Kelley never returned to the phone and has not been heard from since this time.
At 1:00 PM Kelley was seen leaving her office on Highway 78 (it is not clear who saw her leave or where this information came from). In 2012 it was revealed that the police had a small amount of information (their description) that her phone was used in Talladega County around the time from 12:50 and 1:10 PM.
After her husband reported her missing on June 2nd, 2009 her car was found the same day in the parking lot of her office, her keys were oddly found in a plastic bag in a weed/kudzu patch next to the office.
The day before her disappearance Kelley had requested three days off of work for a short vacation, her husband was unaware that she had requested this time off. As far as anyone knows Dr. Rick Mitchell, her boss, was the last person to see her in the office when he left for lunch around 12:30 PM. In 2011 Dr. Rick Mitchell was indicted for fraud, money laundering, and identity theft. Some of her family believe her disappearance may be related to her boss's illegal activities but there has been no proof of any connection.
Kelley has not used her bank accounts or credit cards since June 2, 2009. She was declared legally dead in 2014. Several searches have been conducted to find Kelley but nothing has been found.
Small Notes:
-Boyd Howard, Kelley's husband said that the morning of her disappearance Kelley said she was feeling sick but still went to work. According to Charley Project, Kelley suffers from a blood disorder that causes episodes of memory loss and may take medication that can cause disorientation. While this disorder and medication are mentioned on the Charley Project page there are no reports from family or friends I could find that described incidents of Kelley being disoriented or having amnesia at any time, that doesn't mean that this never happened to her but I cannot find any information that states she actually experienced these effects.
-Before her disappearance, Kelley was about to become a Grandma, and family and friends stated she was so excited and would have never missed the birth or being in her grandchild's life.
-Ricky Van Mitchell, Kelley's former boss went on to become a pastor and in 2019 he and his wife Angela Mitchell were indicted on charges of first-degree insurance fraud, second-degree arson, and criminal conspiracy as they had attempted to burn down a church/building they owned to claim insurance money. Before Richard Mitchell could go to trial for these new charges he died of a heart attack.
-Kelley Louise Howard is described as a Caucasian female, 5'3, 140 pounds with brown hair (all descriptions list brown hair but in pictures, she appears blonde) with blue eyes. Her Maiden name was Henderson and is sometimes referred to as Kelley Henderson Howard. If she is alive right now she would be 55 years old.
-There is no mention of a struggle in or around her car when it was found, just her keys being in a bag nearby.
-There is not a ton of information about this case out there and there have been very few updates.
Theories:

1. The family believes that Richard Mitchell's illegal activity could have been discovered by Kelley and he may be responsible for her disappearance.
2. Kelley left on her own accord for reasons unknown
3. A random attacker kidnapped her from her office
4. She had a medical episode and may have wondered off not knowing who she is
