Continuing off of the Mythical giveaways, I will be giving away legendaries available now in Scarlet and Violet through the Home update! Unfortunately, I cannot give away any of the Sword/Shield legendaries, which is a shame since they make up a good bulk of them, but I hope these still suffice! As usual, although these are genned in, they are 100% legal and have passed through Bank and Home just fine.
You can only request at most 5 legendaries and no repeats, just to ensure they get given away to as many people individually. Of course the box legendaries would be in more demand, so I genned more of them than the side legendaries.

First and foremost i´ve finished two games i started last year and that was God of War: Ragnarok and Pokemon Legends: Arceus. And controversial opinion, i've actually enjoyed Pokemon more than GoW. Which is suprising as i enjoyed GOW(2018) and was burned out on Pokemon games.
Now onto rest games:
Assassin's Creed: Unity Paris looks beautiful and its fun to travel through, even though the parkour is not fun to use when you chasing someone. Game is not even that long. I´ve played mostly main story and some side mission and was done in around 20 hours. Story itself is okay, but i did not find it too interesting. Played on Xbox series X, there are still glitches, but games runs fine.

DMC: Devil May Cry As much as i prefer original series (and last new game) its still entertaining game. Story had potential, but sadly released for wrong series. And Dante and Vergil changing their behaviours did not help. The gameplay though is so much fun an so is replayability (if you are interested in it). You have sword which then change its shape for devil and angel weapons, so you can rapidly change your fighting style. Played on Xbox Series X, no issues

Hi-fi Rush Best game of this year so far. I love Hack n' Slash games and rhytm games. And suck in both of them. But more in rhytm games. Still the game was so intuitive to play and when you screw up rhytm it does not cost you too much (except some boss fights). The graphics are nice and colorful and everything around you moves in rhytm. Story is entertaining and voice acting is so good (Robbie Daymond as main hero was cool). The OST is cool as well (highlight is Intro, Roquefort and Invaders must die). Played on PC, no issues

Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War Not much to say. I've played only campaing. Never finished original Black Ops series and basically played it just because i occasionally like to play CoD campaings and i really enjoyed Modern Warfare(2019) and Warzone when it released. This campaing is fun as well, but really short. It was definetly worth of 20€ or so. Played on Xbox Series X, no issues.

Dead Space (Original) I've originally wanted to buy remake, but i was hesitant as i never beat original, even though i´ve tried it twice before. Now that i've beat i must say that the game is holding really good. The gameplay was little wonky and it was clear that just having only two or three guns and just upgrade their power and health is enough. The story is nice a creepy and hits the nice spot and atmosphere of attacked space station.

Divinity: Original Sin 1 It was long time since i've properly played or beat some proper RPG and thanks to CO-OP i was able to beat this game and it was so much fun. Because my friend took care of most of the dialogs - so i spent most times fighting and getting just most important parts of story and some choices. The turn based combat was kinda challenging even on normal, but so entertaining as well. Story went the way i did not expect, but it managed to be interesting as well. Played on PC, mostly just connection issues.
10/10 - I know sequel and BG3 will be better, but it was really nice experience, so its this rating for now
Risen The "Euro-jank". I spent last few years playing mostly triple A games and indie games, so it was kinda fun to play something that looked and playedvery different from what i am used too. Gameplaywise its kinda hard, so you will die a lot in the beginning and if you want to enjoy the game, Quick Save is your new best friend. Story and world is interesting mostly in the first act as you have two factions fighting against each other and the end of the act your choices will decide who will take control over the seaport city. The rest is just ok. Still it was nice 40 hours. Played on PC, i had to tweak some settings for it to run smoothly and had one crash, otherwise it runs ok.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger I only tried first game long time ago and decided to play this game as it was on my list for long time and that long ago turned 10 years old. And i must say the game is blast. Playing through retrospectively told western story was really fun. The interesting part dueling system, which is kinda cool, but i have to admit i had trouble to properly understand it and think i get through just because i was lucky. Its shame this was series swan song, but at least it end it on nice note. Played on PC, i had to tweak some settings as i had to deal with some FPS drops.

Henry Stickmin Collection Funny interactive animated short story, where you choose between different options, where most of them are there for you to fail and laugh. Really enjoyable to find all endings and all the fails

I've played more games but did not beat them, which kinda sucked, but you know...it is what it is. Right now i am plaing RE4 remake, Dragon Age: Origins (4th attempt) and more.

Hello, couple of years ago I had a switch, played BOTW, finished it, then later on sold everything. I had backed up the save on nintendo cloud but definitely stopped paying for it as soon as I sold the switch. At the time there was to way to backup saves on SD card. I am now buying another switch to play the new Zelda. I won’t be able to retrieve the save from the cloud will I? Might I be able to download a BOTW from somewhere and load it into the switch? I am learning Japanese, and i noticed that there are a huge amount of valuable stuff out there, that can easily disappear by tomorrow. Podcasts, transcripts, videos. So i bought a 4TB HDD to collect important stuff. I also save the most important stuff on my 1TB internal HDD, and upload it to google. I know it's not ideal, but i can't afford a proper backup yet.
I'm also thinking about collecting multi language movies/series in the future, because they seem difficult to obtain.
Do you collect anything, that's valuable for language learning?

I hope someone has some experienced advice to aid with resolving an ongoing concern related to a very suspicious persistent challenge I’ve had for several years securing employment in Information Technology systems administration and engineering roles.
I’ve been working in IT for twenty years, many of those years as a managed services IT systems analyst and engineer, I’m a Linux specialist and peer mentor or teacher regarded as exceptionally competent world wide by many students I’ve mentored or individuals assisted with IT systems diagnostics concerns.
I’m also a self professed autodidact, have never valued attempting a bachelors degree or attended a university however I pursued Microsoft certification in 2003, skipped the bachelors degree to pursue continuing education systems integration specialist program in 2005 and have been a participating and practicing volunteer Linux distribution developer and user support specialist also for twenty years. As a result I have a publicly visible proficiency history anyone can review online beyond my professional references.
My professional roster of references includes the University of Toledo, signed on letterhead before considering attending college.
My previous employment role was a senior level IT systems engineering role with a very comfortable salary however I've been unemployed for two years and everywhere i've applied has declined, several just stating “we can’t hire you” or it’s good we have many other candidates.
Any attempts to inquire about reasons for for declining to hire in contrast to what appeared to be some desire to want to have been left unanswered or with no response to consider.
I think my previous employer's manager f*cked my reputation somehow despite the positive reference I received and I dont know how but I have some suspicions that I have no knowledge of or familiarity to validate but have considered plausible.
My previous employer operates an award winning respected family owned digital media productions business and is very competent at that task. Every day working there was a pleasant experience akin to watching Bob Ross from my office window.
The staff is very talented and I enjoyed working there but the core infrastructure computer systems they relied on were relied upon too frequently with no secondary IT infrastructure leaving very narrow opportunities for maintenance. This frequently resulted in IT staff being forced to work on sunday mornings perhaps several times a week to update and reboot servers or replace failed storage server disks or other maintenance defect elimination chores if you valued the management avoiding your sphere of influence.
Of course no overtime was considered. the cold draft beer fridge was provided to help you forget about all the other things you could be doing with your weekend.
Extended durations of IT infrastructure systems use without maintenance for example continuing to use end of life network switch equipment for 14 years always eventually creates exponentially more significant reliability problems especially if you’re a business that never reboots for updates or forgot to service your air conditioning condenser units resulting in a July heat wave causing the aircon units to fail to chill and instead blow hot air, overnight... into a sealed concrete room full of server equipment.
I’ve previously been hired in my youth to maintain a bread oven but that was working as a pizza delivery chef. This server room had it not been discovered would have started a fire at very least when the backup tapes all reached flashpoint.
In addition both of the two previous IT staff members were fired or quit leaving all of the responsibility of a business’s IT systems with many defects and reliability concerns to me to attempt to address. Some of the issues I resolved were comical.
For example a 2 cent ethernet cable end with the important role of connecting the main network router to the ISP fiber optic connection disconnected the internet when wiggled slightly for a business with 60 employees because the cable end was stretched and rotten.
To be fair I enjoy these challenges but there’s realistic and reasonable volume of end of life systems affecting reliable business operations one person should have to address when that business entirely relies on Information Technology Infrastructure systems. I used to fix these issues with two to five experienced people as a managed services engineer.
To paraphrase the problems this place needed to be shutdown and tons of important equipment replaced, “everything” reinstalled and repaired but I was trying to duct tape and wood glue the holes in the boat, with sixty passengers while it was traversing an ocean. Both of the windows server virtual machines wouldn’t install winrar.
My manager at the time while a commonly competent digital productions manager appeared to believe his competency with IT systems infrastructure was more competent than they realistically were. Director or manager of IT was among this individual’s employment titles however this fellow had no IT qualifications and very limited skillset outside computer programming, business administration and digital media talents.
This created some tension when he was forced to display being inept due to inexperience to really understand complex reliability concerns including why using a video display cable reversed such as dvi to displayport was incorrect because micro electronics specifications. While that’s a minor issue the volume of defects and misconfigured IT systems was collectively more than someone with very limited IT engineering experience could comprehend.
I’m a competent IT systems engineer and saved their computer server room from starting a fire on a weekend and the hiring manager was under pressure to meet production deadlines that never considered maintainence shutdowns.
The relationship started to sour when the company owner tried to "motivate" me to participate in insurance fraud by offering legal assurances by signing cyber security eligibility qualifications documents desired by the insurance underwriter under false pretenses that would have assured the company eligibility for cyber security insurance renewal.
The insurance underwriter ultimately refused to renew the insurance policy until the qualifications were legitimately addressed which I offered to assist with, legitimately any way I’m able to contribute. It was noted business administration concerns are outside my wheelhouse.
This is a business that had also been compromised by ransomware and held for ransom. They had every operating system software update possible entirely disabled, were compromised, paid the ransom, recovered the data and then reinstalled all of the computers again with all of the software updates disabled.
As a result of the state of this businesses IT system defects at the time this business never qualified for cyber security insurance the previous year, before I was responsible for the entire IT department.
I politely declined to illegitimately affirm and sign the documents as I value avoiding being arrested or sued however the company owner and my manager didn’t appear to share my enthusiasm for motivating legal legitimacy. The illegitimacy wasn’t considered a dilemma for the scapegoat.
All of the IT system defects and end of life equipment reliability issues brooded tension where the company owner and hiring manager decided not to renew my contract. I was perhaps even a little pleased to be relieved of the burden of management inept at responsible or reliable IT systems ownership.
I had considered why they fired my predecessor and the other junior tech quit and moved to the opposing side of the country. Evidently that wasn’t a coincidence. If you don't want to answer phone calls a few time zones can become a great avoidance strategy.
After my contract renewal HR meeting with the production studio manager and HR lady had wrapped up where it had been agreed I’m leaving with a positive reference I did receive and still have for a senior role, unemployment eligibility due to the improvements to the company I completed or endured and the insurance illegitimacy circumstances I had believed everything was fine.
Surely there’s no cause to be concerned by this overall experience where the manager for reasons may have believed I was inept, considering all the IT systems I maintained during my employment term in contrast of all of the references and experience I posses.
My hearing isn't always that great because I have tinnitus so if I'm not paying attention to what someone is discussing nearby or perhaps even on a telephone I may disregard ambient discussions if I’m not observing someone speaking.
I recall the manager muttering something behind my back and the HR lady replying with a comment firmly stating with a concerned tone “but then nobody will hire him again...!?” which followed with what appeared to be a disagreeable exchange followed by the manager appearing to threaten to fire the HR lady if she didn't comply with his instructions.
I’ve suspected the instructions may have been to add my identify to some HR employee candidate blacklist database.
i'm not completely certain of or if what i heard being discussed was in relation to me because I have tinnitus or if that is legitimately plausible but I’ve exhausted willingness to continue relying on the positive reference I received despite having completed my contract term.
There is it. It’s a tale of plausible abuse by management of a senior employee that quite realistically saved a business from creating of sixty more unemployed employees but I’m still left with concerns if it was possible the HR lady, under duress of being fired from a new position had caved and done something to ensure I would never be hired by anybody.
The HR lady was fantastic but the management certainly didn't display motives with the utmost integrity.
Does anyone know how or if this would be possible?

My idea was also kind of inspired by Larry from Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, and Walter Mitty.
I've been thinking of building a character who is a kind of lower level politician (think Parks and Recreation level) who got sick of all the mundaness and report writing that he decides to finally go for his dream of being an adventurer. However I'm not sure how I'd build it?
I know a Bard is kind of the best option for a politician but I was thinking something less charismatic and dry like Larry. Another idea is going for a class that he wanted to be as a child like a Ranger.
Going to level 15 and starting off with a free feat, any suggestions are welcome!

The idea is it’s a Dimir midrange/control shell with the ability to cheat into play Valki/Tibalt, and the Prototype creatures Arcane Proxy and Phyrexian Fleshgorger.
The plan is we play any of the previous 3 cards for their cheaper cost/side. Using release to the wind, we can target any of the previous 3 cards and then recast them for their full costs for free, and get some great value.
There is also a playset of Planar Incision, which can be used to bounce the two prototype creatures and have them come back for their full cost/stats, but with a counter on them. Having a turn 4 8/6 menace lifelink with ward - pay 8 life is pretty awesome. The proxy can also recast any of our removal/counters at instant speed if we bounce it in response to something.
The bounce spells we run also backup as spells that can save our own things.
The sideboard needs some work I think, as I’m new to pioneer and chose to run some cards that can do well in most matchups.

Long story short, I finished 100%-ing Legends Arceus a few months back and I've been considering picking up Scarlet/Violet. However, I really can't say I enjoyed perfecting the Pokédex in that game. It was fine at first, but after a while it became tedious...
So, I was wondering how the Scarlet/Violet dex compares in terms of time to complete? I know there are supposed to be 400(?) entries, which is fine. But are there any catch objectives like Arceus (i.e., catch 10 blah-blah-blahs), or is it just a standard dex like in other titles? Also, are there any BS completion requirements? I love completing all my games, but I don't have as much time to play as I used to.
(Not trying to hate on PLA. If you enjoyed perfecting the dex, that's completely fine! It just wasn't that fun for me.)

Critics consensus: While it plays too much like a sizzle reel of DC's greatest hits to fully stand on its own two feet, The Flash has enough heart and zip to maintain a confident stride.

As with other movies, the scores are set to change as time passes. Meanwhile, I'll post some short reviews on the movie. It's structured like this: quote first, source second. Beware, some contain spoilers.

The early word on The Flash calling it one of the greatest superhero movies ever made was pure hyperbole. But in the bumpy recent history of the DC Extended Universe, it’s certainly an above-average entry.

Miller's the Flash goes back in time to change the future and connects with Michael Keaton's Batman. But the movie, after a smart and playful first half, gives itself over to comic-book bombast.

The superhero fan service is strong with this one – perhaps too strong at times – but it never fully overshadows Barry Allen’s genuinely tragic and heartfelt story of grief. Though the visual effects aren’t always the best and the third act is a bit overwhelming, strong performances and a refreshing earnestness keep The Flash on track and running circles around many of the recent DC Universe movies. If this is the truly last stop on the Snyderverse express, then it’s a respectable way to go out.

What it amounts to is a movie that spends all its time racing from one poorly-thought out story element to another, from one only modestly satisfying nostalgia shout-out to another, and with only questionable results. How fitting, yet how disappointing: “The Flash” has the runs.

This is not a movie with any new ideas or dramatic rethinking, and – at the risk of re-opening the DC/Marvel sectarian wound – nothing to compare with the much-lauded animation experiment in the recent Spider-Man films. The intellect in this intellectual property is draining away.

The movie’s stronger underlying themes, like the importance of living in the present and learning to let things go, are overshadowed by the multiversal gymnastics. And as much good stuff as the "The Flash" features, including a nifty scene where Barry slo-mo saves a slew of falling babies in entertaining fashion, the film can't help but get tripped up by the same old hurdles.

Maybe nerd culture was a mistake. The first and last 10 minutes demonstrate the winning superhero saga this might have been, but the middle two hours are devoted to sloppy, shameless fan service.

The hype is real. DC’s The Flash may not be the greatest comic book movie ever made, but it comes damn close. Easily the best in the genre since Spider-Man: No Way Home, this fresh, invigorating, and hugely entertaining summer treat is as good as it gets when it comes to cinematic takes on superheroes.

The Flash ends on a purposefully open note (and a pretty good joke), so that if the film succeeds at the box office, Miller's Barry can run again another day. If it doesn't, the precedent is set for a full continuity reset. Whatever DC movies await us in the future, let's hope they avoid multiverses. It's well-trod territory at this point, even for a speedster.

Merging Looper and Looney Tunes makes for some jarring transitions between time-travel melodrama and power-mishap shenanigans. That’s never more clear than in the movie’s tail end, wherein Muschietti, who seems like a slick Spielberg-acolyte crowdpleaser in the J.J. Abrams mode, struggles with whether The Flash is an emotional cautionary tale, a universe-resetting franchise play, or just a zany sci-fi farce, subject to channel-flipping multiverse gags. You can feel The Flash wishing it could steal a glimpse into the audience and revise itself on the fly accordingly; no wonder early screenings apparently hedged on an ending until the last possible minute. Fandom has created a culture where a fun, zippy movie can’t stop looking back over its shoulder.

While I have a few complaints and there are a couple of head-scratching loose ends, "The Flash" is still a funny, emotional, action-heavy crowd-pleaser that ranks among the best DC movies ever made.

Oddly, The Flash being so brilliant actually gives DC a bit of a headache. The studio’s new head honcho, James Gunn, is currently planning a much-publicised reboot of its comic book movie universe that may not include the Scarlet Speedster. Throw in Miller’s even more publicised personal problems and a poorly received film could have provided the perfect opportunity to have him (and the bad press) jog off into the sunset. Given the critical buzz and potential box office bump, that looks unlikely now. The Flash’s future is starting to look a lot sparkier than his past.

This feels like the definitive Flash movie.

This much-beleagured cinematic universe has finally hit upon a winning film, and one that will be forever tainted. It’s not the most tragic thing regarding the person whirling at the center of it all — not by a long shot. But it is a reminder that you can make a superhero movie that seeks to unite all worlds but can’t quite reckon with the one outside the theater. And it’s proof that you can always run as fast as your superhuman intellectual property can manage, but there are things that you simply aren’t able to hide.

The Flash clearly wants its audience to get caught up in the excitement of multiverse adventures, returning superhero favorites, and fun antics of Barry Allen, to the point that they never consider that the time travel aspects make absolutely no sense, and only hurts the larger story in the way that it’s handled here. Thankfully, those antics are enjoyable and hard not to get excited about, but unfortunately, this isn’t a story that holds together on a narrative level. Cameos and fan service are fine to have, but the story has to be there to back them up, and it’s not quite there with The Flash.

One of the most spectacular and frustrating mixed bags of the superhero blockbuster era, "The Flash" is simultaneously thoughtful and clueless, challenging and pandering. It features some of the best digital FX work I've seen and some of the worst. Like its sincere but often hapless hero, it keeps exceeding every expectation we might have for its competence only to instantly face-plant into the nearest wall.

Even despite being saddled with the baggage of the DCU’s failures, that the story that works in The Flash manages to shine through the noise is no small feat. The bitter irony, of course, is that even its artistic victories are tempered by the film being released in the shadow of Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which hits nearly every story beat and big swing for nostalgia attempted here, but with exponentially more finesse, grace, and emotional power. Nothing Batman or Supergirl do in The Flash to save the world is more effective than what Barry does to save it with a hug and a can of tomatoes.

Considering how “The Flash” makes many of its characters face death and inevitability throughout, “The Flash” should not feel as hollow as it does. But you can’t blame Barry for it. He’s just a high-energy tour guide here, as everything around him becomes a blur leading us to the next reference. It has taken so long for a feature-length “The Flash” to finally hit theaters, and he’s too late. Barry is barely the lead character of his own movie.

It’s clear that DC doesn’t really know what it’s paying tribute to, other than the knowledge that other comic book movies exist. The Flash, much like Barry himself, has been stranded with no real sense of history, and no real sense of the future, either. It does the best it can.

So, this week I (F20) am graduating college and it's a pretty huge deal in my family. I'm not the first to go to college, but I am the first to graduate. My younger brother will be graduating high school the day after me as well, for future reference. Everyone in my family has been extremely excited and supportive of me. My mom has been pretty supportive too, but the things she's been doing make me frustrated.
For my ceremony, we received 6 tickets each. I knew who I wanted to invite with my six tickets: my mom, 3 sisters, boyfriend of 2.5 yrs, and brother. My backups were my SIL or my boyfriend's mom; however, my brother, SIL or boyfriend's mom couldn't make it. Before I could even tell my mom though, she told me that she told her boyfriend of 6 months (who I've known for 4) to get that day off and that I saved a ticket for him.
Now, don't get me wrong, I do like her boyfriend; he's a nice guy, he takes care of my mom, and he treats my siblings and I well. But I don't know him on a personal level to be inviting him to something as big as my graduation, and I expressed this to my mom. I told her I wanted that ticket for someone I personally wanted there, but she just brushed me off and told me he already has that day off.
Before I knew my boyfriend's mom couldn't make it, she asked me if I could invite her friend (let's call her Samantha) because she was the one making the invitations for a celebration party we would be having later on. I told her no, I was saving that ticket for boyfriend's mom. She got all huffy and told me that we've known Samantha longer, but I reminded her that I've only met her once or twice.
Then, I requested 2-3 extra tickets. One ticket I wanted for my aunt; when my dad passed away, she was one of the people who was there for my siblings and I the most. However, her and my mom don't talk, but they stay in touch because of my siblings and I. So, I let my mom know that I would be inviting her, and let my aunt know my mom would be there. The other I wanted for a family friend, Helena. But my mom began insisting I give those two tickets to my great uncle and godfather. I got an extra ticket (so that's 3), and at this point I'm hiding it from my mom, because I'm considering inviting one of my closest friends.
My great uncle, I personally don't mind. I know he cares about me, but he doesn't call me or anything. But my godfather is extremely homophobic and has done things to my godfamily (is that a word?) that I don't want to be associated with. All (and I mean all) my siblings + myself identify as LGBTQ in some way. I'm not going to do that to myself or my siblings; it's completely unfair.
Because my younger brother is graduating as well, he's made a list of people he wants to invite because he has limited tickets. My mom is trying to overthrow his invites too by inviting her boyfriend, but my brother told her no, that's completely unfair. He's already had to uninvite one of our older sisters because he can't request extra tickets.
Then my older sister texted me and it made me realize how unfair my mom has been about this. Basically, she (my older sister) texted me last night asking if she could bring the girl she's dating to my graduation dinner. She followed that up with "I know you guys just met her, and I won't invite her to your ceremony, but I do want her to come around more and you guys to know her better."
I'm so frustrated about this, but every time I tell my mom I've had my own plans on who I invite, she tries to make up excuses on why I shouldn't invite people I'm considering. We're planning on having a party for my brother and I, since we're both graduating, and I reassure her that we can invite more people to the party, but she keeps insisting on people we barely know. It feels like it's completely out of my hands and I want to spend this day with the people I know and love the most, family or not.

I was playing today before work, and am really enjoying my Columbus Crew season in the MLS. I made a big signing early in the season in midfield, and was developing my attack really nicely. Today I was at the end of the regular season. Half of my XI was pin international duty on the final match before knockout play. If we lost, we’d still qualify but we’d have a worse position. Not a crucial game but still important. Having to start reserves, my backup Striker (who had been begging for more playing time) finally got his time to shine. My 68 rated backup worked together with my midfield signing and scored a hat trick for a 3-1 victory! He did so well he earned a spot as a CF for the next match with all of my normal starters. First match of the first round, we tie, lose 4-3 in penalty shootout. Everyone played very well. My manager rating was high 80s, I was on track to hit all of my objectives. I get an email saying I’m fired.
My whole hour and a half of time before work thrown in the trash because I didn’t save at any point today.

I came before Captain Sovlin and Captain Kalsim. I remember watching Kalsim train. I doubt he remembers me. My career made me into a captain pretty fast. Faster than most. I had repelled five Arxur raids while in control of the bridge. My crew were brave enough to trust me and my insane methods. Letting a colony world fall was unacceptable in my eyes. We were the vigilant, always ready to warp in ten minutes or less. The federation as whole didn't seem to understand how much value a few extra minutes bought for the settlers meant. Even if I had to order a retreat, tens of thousands would survive because they managed to find a place to weather the raid while the Arxur were distracted.
I was a hero.
Rumbling laughter and howls make my slow trod falter, and I look though a window into the recreational room. There's several humans at a table holding scraps of paper and barking in a jovial mood. They're not masked, and my feathers ruffle looking at them. A flicker of movement on the table catches my eye, and I finally spot the Dossur in their midst, almost completely hidden in a bunker of coins.
A Dossur beating an entire group of pack predators by himself. I never would've believed it, but I'm still not surprised it would be Alvin of all people.
That little runt was the only reason I've managed to hold onto my sanity for so long. He was braver than I, and he brought me back even when I was at my worst, again and again and again. He was the first to run to our predatory saviors back at the facility. And he was the last to leave, running back into the fighting and leading a human doctor to me to stop the stray bullet from taking me into Inatala's grace.
I left him to his card game, faintly overhearing one of the humans complain about being a several years running Texas Holdem champion. Alvin's response sounded very much like him, asking if he wanted to bet the actual crown next to add to his growing wealth.
Eventually I found myself in front of a door. Inside was a small room. One wall contained a wooden desk carved with enough craftsmanship to rival old Krakotl wood carvers. The desk was cluttered with cylinders and writing apparatuses, and a primitive writing board resting on the wall above it displayed several print outs of various people. Relatives. Descendants. People that had enough empathy in them to take back the few lucky souls that still had people they could trust. The computer underneath it was not active, but if it where I'd imagine there would be encrypted communication logs trying to reconnect with those few love ones. Plans to reunite them. Promises to protect them under this faction's umbrella.
It was strange, that this group of humans wasn't desired by the rest of their kind. They take more direct, brutal action than their leaders, but they act to save lives.
On the opposite wall was a locker. Inside were several firearms of Human make, and multiple emergency atmospheric suits. Many were for human use, but some were Federation standard. A pair of boots and engineering equipment rested on the floor before it, scuffed and well worn. There's a strange logo of an orange planet on the back of a jacket hanging from a hook nearby, and an even stranger article of cloth called an 'arm band.' The arm band has a large tree sewn into it, flanked by two prey animals and a river. The human I'm visiting was part of that arm band group, named after a tree of all things.
You couldn't get me to harbor a guess as to why they'd name themselves after a tree.
The far wall was rather simple. A faded green paint coat, covered in various anti-predator posters. One was of a human in a blue space suit, the visor open and revealing an endless pit of teeth. Another depicting a feral, over-proportioned human salivating over a dressed, screaming krakotl on a dinner plate. A third poster depicted some venlil collared and chained in place, stuck in some multi-colored wrapping that went up its legs halfway.
There was a mirror beside the posters, and I winced at the terrible shape I was in. I'd abused myself too much after I was freed. Even after stopping, I was still recovering. Looking past the mirror, there is a large banner of a green Terran letter. A few paper photos are plastered around it of smiling humans in strange places, and my eye always lingers over those photos despite the many times I've seen them. Earth looked lovely. I wished Kalsim had called off his mission.
Feeling like an intruder, I turned my attention to the last part of the wall. A set of black out curtains were flush with it, concealing a human roost built into the structure itself. If I was lucky, she would be there.
"Hope?"
Come on, you're better than a chicken.
Carefully, I lifted the curtain. "Hope?"
There she was. The one human I wasn't bothered by on this station. I can hear the music playing now that the curtain is out of the way, and the thick visor over her eyes tells me she's watching a video or simulation of some kind. I hesitate, watching her in her own world. What fur she does have is short and remarkably dense, and she has such a unique coloration that I would swear she was one of a kind if she hadn't mentioned having family. A tan complexion, painted over by splotches and stripes of white and violets that humans can't see with their own eyes. Her face is relaxed, mouth slightly open in wonder.
The human that helped staunch my bleeding, and gently broke the news to me of everything that had happened while I was locked up. The same one that kept me from pulling myself apart immediately after, and tried to find a way to keep me busy as my whole world went up in flames. A stern, capable person that could make decisions under pressure and wanted to save lives. While not a leader, I could see it in her. She had mettle.
She was completely exposed. Had I been the old me and not the one that woke up in a PD cell after a Sillis conference, I might've followed Kalsim's path. A talon in the right spot, and humans die fast.
"Hope?" Even raising my voice, she didn't hear me right in front of her. "Hope!"
As much as I respected her, coming this far in my state was exhausting. I, being a former fleet captain, hero, and outstanding Federation officer, decidedly acted like a child in that moment and pecked her.
"AAAAAAAH!"
"AIIIIIIIIIEEEEE"
I let out the most undignified shriek in my life and fell over backwards, landing on my tail feathers and sending a jolt up my spine. I forgot that since Hope was human, by extension she could be loud. Really, really, unfathomably loud.
There was a blur of limbs and Hope was sitting up, visor wielded as a bludgeon. She made eye contact with me, and I realized all my remaining feathers had poofed up.
"Blu!" She scolded, face curling in frustration. "What in the matter is- Blu?! You're not in your room?"
Shock, this time. I felt some shame in how low my standards had fallen, and smoothed down my feathers properly. My poor heart was already recovering and I stood, puffing out my chest.
"I... I wanted to go for a walk. See what you humans could do with a dated station like this."
"You're in my room."
"That appears to be the case." I pushed a ball of dust across the floor with a talon and regarded it absently, turning my head and keeping an eye on Hope. "It needs cleaning."
With speed I was anticipating, she hurled a pillow at me. I caught the assault and rerouted it, catching her in the face. She leaned back and laughed, a noise that calmed what was left of my quaking heart as I hopped forward. She offered a hand that I accepted, and she helped pull me onto the edge of the bed.
"You offered to show me your skies." I began, feeling uncertain. "Is that possible?"
"Yeah," she said. "Here-"
Grace put a hand on my chest and pushed down. A profound sense of horror washed over me as my back hit the soft bedding. She wouldn't- no. She can't- is it even- when have I last- Inatala please-
I realized with a start that Hope leaned past me, grabbing her pad. She plugged an odd attachment into it and fastened it to the wall by her head, and flopped over beside me. My immediate terror faded into embarrassment, and my face warmed at my own stupidity as she pulled the curtain closed. It became dark, and I felt her shift slightly until the ceiling above us started to slowly glow. Her pad booted up and began to project an image up there, and I felt my initial problems fade as a blue sky opened up before us.
"Oh wow." I breathed, realizing it was a video as a plane flew overhead. I forgot myself for a moment, looking up into an alien sky as clouds blew by at a lazy pace. The jet stream slowly lost its uniformity and stretched out, facing away as other clouds replaced it. I could hear wind and alien birds chirping, and for a long moment I was there. I was really there.
Storm clouds, massive weather fronts, all began drifting by. There was a dull rumble of thunder. I started as a bird flew very close overhead.
"What was that?"
"Woodpecker. Some can get pretty big back home. Not as big as you, Blu."
"Is it really this serene? Where was this taken?"
"My backyard. There was a massive hill out back. I used to lay there for hours when I was younger. Lived at the edge of a village. The only noise back there was the odd combustion engine or farming drone. Sometimes someone firing off a gun or listening to music loudly."
"You lived in the countryside? You're a pilot!"
Hope chuckled softly. "Surprise! There's some pretty sharp people that don't live in the cities, Blu. Especially us humans. My father could repair any farm equipment you threw at him going back a hundred years. Of course, I also have an uncle that thinks the Queen of England doesn't exist, so it probably levels out." She finished, sighing and reaching up. She swiped her finger across the ceiling and suddenly the skies changed.
They were orange now. More clouds. I felt a familiar pang in my chest thinking of a Nishtal sunset, but I kept quiet as the skies gradually changed. I was surprised to see such a vibrant shade of orange, then a sharp streak of violet bleed into it. There was red as well. A lot of red.
"Why red?"
"Oh, that. Massive forest fire in Canada. That's a country above mine. The smoke changed the colors for a little while. It made for a nice view."
That it did. I got lost in the footage, and started losing track of time. Only the occasional creak of the bedding kept me from forgetting where I really was. Hope seemed content watching the skies, and it dawned on me how close I was to her.
I'm acclimating well. Maybe I'll be like Alvin in no time.
When the skies slowly turned to night I was amazed at the stars that came out. Constellations I was unfamiliar with, patterns and swirls of light that could never be seen from a Federation city. I heard Hope inhale and reach out, changing the scene before it could linger anymore. "How about a time lapse. I've got some good ones."
"I don't know what that is."
"Really? Someone sets up a camera in a nice spot and records hours or days of footage. They take everything they've documented and then speed it up to a couple minutes." Hope starts a new video. I'm taken back by it, how a cloud bank flows around a mountain pass like water. It looks like a stream, where the clouds shift with each wind current change, flowing back and forth as minutes are turned into seconds.
It's stunning. Hope switches to another one, and another. I'm struck dumb with wonder, baffled at how not one other creature out of the hundreds of species thought to do anything similar over the course of the Federation. Massive mountain tops, where humans blur through trails like plasma. Prairies with storm cells moving in, lighting and rain sweeping through and giving it new light as the terrain is rapidly drenched. A large road where thousands of human vehicles streak by and leave brief paint trails in their wake.
"Thank you, Hope."
She nods, an odd gesture of acknowledgement, before changing the video back to a more slow paced skyline. After several minutes of silence, I feel a weight forming in my chest. Slowly, my wonder begins to crumble.
"How many confidants were you able to find? For the others?"
Hope shifted to look at me, turning her head and making my feathers tingle slightly at how close her face was to me. She looked back up at the sky. "Seven."
"There were forty that wanted to leave as quickly as they could. What happens to them?"
"We're letting them go. Even if they don't want anything to do with predators, they're going to find out avoiding my species is pretty hard. We're going to give them access to the network anyways, in case they want our help down the road."
"And the rest of us?"
"I'm helping the ones that want to go back to a somewhat normal life find that. There's several planets they can go to, and countless colonies. They'll be placed close to the support network in case there's trouble and they need to come back, or need financial assistance or help integrating."
Hope had mentioned something about 'shelters being a safe place' for us break outs, but had never elaborated on that.
"And what about the others that want to stay?" I noticed Hope scowl at the skies, her face forlorn.
"The ones that want to stay and help us fight are welcome to. It's not all dangerous- being part of the network isn't as risky. Helping the ones that wanted to go back to living, or finding others that got lost or fell through the cracks. It... it feels wrong asking anyone we rescued to fight and die for us. We don't want clouded judgement and people thinking they owe us that. But, there are a lot wanting to join our ranks in more aggressive operations. We're making them combat ready, teaching them how we wage wars so that they don't turn into their overseers."
I lay there for a long moment, staring at the open skies above us. "What about me?" I asked quietly.
"You're not excluded from those choices, Blu."
"You read my file. You know who I was. What I would've done if I didn't end up in that place. You'd really just let me go?"
"If you wanted to go, then yes."
The simple way in which she states it confused me. Like such a choice wouldn't cause issues or risks.
"But, we've been thinking about a better choice for you."
Oh?
"The Mazics are turning into the next Paltan Combine. Their newest influx of refugees were the released Krakotl."
My chest tightens. Nishtal is no more, razed to the bedrock and dead. We had been abandoned by our neighbors, our home slaughtered well before our true nature was revealed. And in the same year, the Federation deploys over forty thousand ships to take back a world that left behind their rule. Billions of loyal citizens captured and destined for a bloody fate were worth less than billions that seceded peacefully.
And then the humans brokered a deal with the Arxur and saved their souls. This was yet another time they did the impossible.
"We were thinking they could use a strong anchor to roost against. Someone that they might remember. A leader that they can trust."
I turned my head to directly face Hope, but she was still looking at the skies.
"I... they hate you humans."
"They do."
"I can't try and lead them, and sell out anyone that still doesn't believe in the UN's cause. I can't betray them." I chirped, dread worming into my gut.
"We wouldn't expect you too. We don't want you too. Blu-" Hope turned her gaze on me, her voice sincere. "We want them to find the right path. They deserve peace and security. They don't deserve to live in fear and rot with hatred. We don't... my group does not want yours to suffer over what your government did, even if the masses supported it at the time. We think you can lead them to a better future, where this hell can have a chance to heal and fade."
She looked back up at the artificial sky above us. "You don't even have to talk to us again if you choose this. If you do your best to ensure your species can coexist with mine, that would be more than we could ever hope to see happen."
"You think that's possible? That I could get that far? It seems so far away."
Hope bared her teeth in a smile. "You're more than capable. You love your people with everything you have, Blu. They'll see that. They'll believe in you. When you stand firm for your people, they'll follow you, too. We'll help where we can- peacefully. This can happen, I know it."
I found myself looking up at Earth's sky once again, apprehensive above this new burden. There was no way I would turn this down. If the Wolverines thought it was possible, then it was possible. A future where my people were both free in body and spirit was one I would fight for until my weary body gave out.
"How do we start?"

I made the decision to return to my home for the summer and complete a cna class. my college is across the country for reference and I'm a rising senior.
I've been home for 3 weeks and it is really getting to me and I'm struggling. I'm only 2 days into the cna class. I chose to come here to save money on rent but atp I'm wondering if it's worth it to just drop the class and take out $3-4k in loans for summer housing and try to find a campus job. esp with graduating in the spring next year, I wanted to make sure I had a cna as a backup for work to make money and not have to take out more loans
I don't have a car and my household is extremely emotionally abusive and it just keeps getting worse. today I started to get extremely anxious in the car bc of their behavior. It sounds kind of sad but I'm just used to it and it wasn't until I moved to college that I realized it wasn't really normal to be treated that way. I don't really know what to do:/

Can anyone here report their experience regarding Seedvault in LineageOS 20 and whether it is reliable and trustworthy in the case of backups and backup recovery?
I use it via WebDAV to backup to my server, but have never restored a backup. Often happens that during backup process comes a meaningless message "Backup failed", but backup resumed again meanwhile. On my server I can also see that several GB are uploaded, but whether that can save you in an emergency I have my doubts.
Experience?
Because of this uncertainty, I also use Swift Backup via WebDAV (previously without problems via SMB and pCloud) which so far does backups without any errors.

I just got through Pokemon Violet and was very much looking forward to playing VGC again after a long pause since Pokemon Moon. If I try open the online battle hub, I am asked to pay for switch online. Is VGC now pay to play? If that is so, I'm shocked. I would image that this would discourage a lot of new players and hurt VGC's future as an e-sport.
