Kodo Assets
2023.06.05 01:06 Spend-Extension Kodo Assets
Every investor’s dream is to buy a property to receive passive income, but you need a lot of capital… or not? Can you imagine being able to invest free money, from $140 in a property and receive income from its rental and sale? With Kodo Assets it is possible, watch out! They have found the solution to eliminate this great barrier to entry, and that members can invest in the real estate sector without having to have a high capital. As? Applying Blockchain technology. I explain: Through Blockchain technology for smart contracts, it is possible to create new cryptocurrencies that can be given parity with any existing physical asset, such as real estate and gold, for example in the case of Pax Gold. And this is what Kodo Assests is about, tokenizing properties and giving their holders all the rights that derive from that property. Through the acquisition of the KODO1 token, each investor will receive in the form of dividends, their corresponding part of the income received from the rental of the property, and later by the capital gain at the time the sale is made. At first, the payment of said earnings was chosen in the USDC stablecoin and the chosen network where the tokens will be issued will be POLYGON. This generates a series of advantages, for example, once the initial verification requirements of the token holder are met, it is possible that these tokens are offered and retained by an indiscriminate number of people. This would allow, instead of offering autonomous units, the property is divided into as many tokens as square meters. Another great advantage is that since the token is part of a smart contract, the dividends and any other earnings will be distributed directly to the wallets of the KODO1 holders, which allows a higher profit margin since all types of fees and values would be avoided. payments for registrations and any other commission existing between the purchase and sale of real estate. Due to the possibility of great growth in the real estate area, his first project was decided to tokenize a property located in Sao Paulo. It is a commercial property located in the financial center of the city of São Paulo, in the Faria Lima region, at Calle dos Pinheiros, 1673, cj. 62, São Paulo, SP, Brazil, SQL 015.073.1023–4. The total area of the property is 1,144,525m2, with a BOMA area of 552.58m2, a private area of 473m2 and a common area of 671,525m2, according to registration number 141,264, registered in the 10th Royal Real Estate Registry of São Paulo. Some details of the KODO1 Token: **A total of 25,000 tokens will be issued in which they have NO plans to issue more or any policy for burning it. **Each token will be offered for $140.00, in addition to the cost of KYC/AML verification, which will be $13 per individual user and $25 per corporate user. The minimum purchase amount is 1 token and there is no maximum purchase limit. **The total value of this offer is US$3,500,000.00. **This token offer will take place between April 10, 2023(*) and September 9, 2023(*) or until the 25,000 KODO1 Tokens are completed sold out, whichever occurs first, and may be changed according to criteria of opportunity and convenience, to be defined by Kodo Assets Dates subject to change. 2023.06.05 01:04 VideoCopy How do you use video to get converted leads?
As you continue to build your business, you are always faced with the everyday query: “
how do I get more (paid) users?"
Some days, you get rewarded with more signups. Other days, you are stuck in a rut.
“What Happens When You Are Not Getting More Users Registering with You?” - Hitting a plateau. Your growth is stalled when it comes to the amount of users that you are onboarding for your startup. This can be a problem when you are trying to keep more users from canceling their service with you.
- Need to generate more traction, faster. Another problem with having stalled user growth is that you need to get more users to sign up with your product so you can generate more profit for your company.
The Bounce Rate is too damn high. When people don’t stay on your website long enough, you are missing out on potential conversions (and sales).
People are still confused about your product. Another reason why people are leaving your site is because they don't fully understand how you can help them.
“Can Video Fix This Problem For Me?” There is no silver bullet but there is one tool that you can always use to get more users to sign up with your tool:
video. With video, you can: - keep people on your website longer. This ranks your website higher in the search rankings so more people can find you.
- explain your product better so that they can understand how your product works. This means that more people will sign up at your website.
- reach your potential customers on various platforms and hold their attention longer. This helps separate you from your competitors who are using text.
With an audience reach of 92% (Statista), you can reach your potential customers much more easily.
“Just Add Video” Of course, just saying “just add video” is not going to be enough for you to get the results that you are looking for on your website.
So, here are 4 methods that you can use video to drive higher conversions for your website.
Creating a High-Converting Landing Page Video To Create a Great First Impression If you want to show off how your product works, video is a great medium to use.
With video, you can explain how your product works and to answer pressing questions within less time that it takes for your visitor to read everything on your website.
With that said, you can still ruin your chances of showcasing a great first impression.
For example,
- your landing page video runs longer than 75 seconds. Anything longer risks your audience not finishing the video completely. If you want higher conversions, keep your landing page video to 75 seconds or less.
- your landing page video is below-the-fold. The best place to place your landing page video is dead center where your audience can see it. By hiding it below the fold, you are losing conversions outright.
If you can keep your landing page video straightforward, visually engaging, and above-the-fold, you can convert a percentage of your audience members into onboarding into your funnel.
(
“We actually create high-converting videos for companies. If you are interested in having a great video created for you, you can get started with a free high-converting landing page script here”:
https://airtable.com/shrkjId5WjEGOqIZy) Use a Growth-Driven Content Calendar to Track Results Just because you have a landing page video does not mean that it is sunshines-and-roses.
How do you know if your landing page video is working?
If you are not keeping track of your KPI’s, then you are missing valuable data that you can use in order to drive more conversions for your website.
Beyond just using a landing page video, you can use video throughout your content marketing campaign.
You can set up a spreadsheet to act as your Growth Model that tracks some of the following KPI’s:
- Average Watch Time. The average percentage of the viewers who watch your videos from beginning-to-end.
- Conversion Rate. The percentage of people who onboarded onto your CTA (call-to-action) versus the total traffic of your content.
- # of Engaged Leads. The total number of leads who are actively responsive to your calls.
Whatever KPIs are most important for your company, you can use video to test whether it rises or falls.
Be More Personal with a Demo Video. You can use video in a Demo Video where you are speaking directly to your potential visitor who is more interested in learning more about how your product actively functions.
A Demo Video is usually a moderately long video where you are explaining the features more in-depth.
It should be stated that a demo video (in most cases) should not be your landing page video.
Your landing page video is your first impression that gets your website visitor excited about your product.
Your demo video (especially if it is just you talking directly to your audience) should be more personal as you are describing more specific features on your product works for your end audience.
By using a public-friendly landing page video with a softer, personal demo video, you can get your audience excited and then calm them down when you explain the features more in-depth.
Prove that Your Product Works with Video Testimonials! Using video testimonials is key to adding more conversions for your company.
The truth is that text reviews can be faked. I know….because I have seen it. However, if you can use a video testimonial on your website, then you can showcase that your product is actually functional and that it works!
Adding to that, you can leverage a new library of copy onto your website that your end customer is giving you onto your website.
By using video testimonials, you can get more people on board into your funnel.
You Can Use Video in 4 Great Ways! With these 4 tips, you can craft a highly optimized video to convert more of your traffic right away.
With a landing page video that shows off of your website, your viewers are excited to learn more about your product.
With a demo video, you can personally describe how your product works and how they can use your product in a way that fits their workflow.
With video testimonials, you can show that your product works the way that it is supposed to.
And with a content calendar, you can track how video benefits your marketing.
By using video throughout your content marketing campaign and on your landing page, you can keep your viewers more engaged as they pay more attention to you in a world full of noise.

2023.06.05 01:02 Bucket-with-a-hat Some cool things I noticed during the battle
I noticed a couple of things during the battle that I thought were neat nods to the lore, primarily for the Elder Scrolls because I'm not nearly knowledgeable enough to comment on those.
- The Dragonborn used exactly 8 shouts throughout the whole fight (whiffed Fus Ro Dah included) yet didn't die showing the rupturing of a cycle the Dragonborn is known for
The number 8 is important to LKHN as he was killed by the other 8 aedra, had his body split into 8 pieces and his heart became one of the 8 towers that maintain Mundus
A popular theory on Skyrim says the DB is a Shezarrine, an incarnation of LKHN's wandering spirit
- Primarily a melee fighter like any self-respecting modern nord
- Funny flying stick does the funny
"I used to be an adventurer like you.... Then I took an arrow to the knee"
- First direct hit on the Dragonborn lands on his heart (center of the chest really)
LKHN is missing his heart
- His "shield-thane" was killed by an archer
Tsun was the shield-thane of LKHN and was killed by Trinimac
- Ironically, gets hit by an attack powered by the moon (across his midsection which makes it even better)
The twin moons you see in Tamriel are LKHN's corpse
- Stops the rekindling of the Age of Fire, arguably putting an end to a form of stasis, much like how LKHN did.
- If I understood correctly what someone explained to me, the Age of Dark refers to an age of humanity in its true state, with the world being shrouded in darkness free of time and whatnot. This highlights the conflicting nature of the Dragonborn I've been noting here, with him being a fragment of both AKA and LKHN; on one hand he recreates a lot of moments through which LKHN suffered but on the other he seeks the stasis and a return the primordial state of the world before the convention.
Before the Convention, there was no linear time in the universe and this period was called the Dawn Era. The ehlnofey were the spirits of all mortal beings before they were bound to Mundus; there are many different interpretations as to why LKHN made Mundus but the Dunmeri version of events (important because theirs are allegedly backed by knowledge coming from a couple of Daedric princes who were present at this time and also Vivec) claims that Mundus exists as a sort of testing ground so that a spirit would eventually emerge from the constant hardships and 'replace' (not really but this is the easiest explanation) the uncaring Godhead
- The voice at the end seemingly went mad and did a 180 on its allegiance; I don't believe an enantiomorph occured here but there are elements which indicate it might have happened (The Chosen Undead being 'The King', Dragonborn 'The Rebel' and the voice acting as 'The Observer', shrouding the world in darkness probably qualifies for the blinding part required for an enantiomorph)
Enantiomorphs occur when two opposing forces are so similar that their places could be switched and nothing would change; there are 3 actors required for one to happen:
'The Rebel, The King and The Observer, the action that is carried out in a performance is that the rebel reigns the king, who has previously ruled a domain in which the rebel is involved and usurped them. The third participant, the observer, is either severely injured or killed in the course of this process. If this action is carried out, the king becomes the new rebel, while the rebel is henceforth king.'
In this case, the battle takes places at Gwyn's arena after the Chosen Undead has defeated him, Dragonborn approaches him with the intent of ending the Age of Fire and the Voice is presumably watching this whole thing
And that's it, I think, feel free to add anything below

2023.06.05 00:49 asuspsu Was I raised...
This thought never crossed my mind until my recent years after graduating and a recent late night discussion that I had with a friend. I currently live with my mother and another sibling in a small apartment.
Truthfully, I don't believe there is much here but I want to get some opinions on this.
I don't really have a relationship with my father, never have. I have a very one sided relationship with my mother where she seems to give me affection but I have never been able to do the same.
Around 11 or 12 I ran away from home. I got into a nasty fight with my mom. I forgot how the argument started but it centered around the fact that she thought I was doing drugs. I have touched drugs in my life much less drank a bottle of beer (more on that later). She accused me, guilted me, and more. It made me feel worthless, and pathetic, and at the same time made me have suicidal thoughts. She was always very abusive verbally and physically she would hit us (I was living with my sister and brother in an apartment at the time). Anytime we did something wrong, no matter how small, I would be deathly afraid of her. I thought at the time that physical punishment was normal. So yes, she was a single mother raising three kids, but it makes me feel bad in a way that I don't think she ever did a good job.
Anyways, that night during the argument I got so fed up I hit her. I stormed out and stayed in an alleyway for a few hours trying to recoup and understand what I had done. After a while I think cops started showing up, maybe for me? I was on the other side of the apartment complex so they would not be able to find me. I left a little past midnight and walked a couple miles in the dark to my grandparents house. That is where I stayed for about a year and a half. Before my freshman year of high school, my mother came to my grandparents house to pick me up and take me back home. My mother said my grandparents didn't want me living there anymore but I don't know the real reason why she came back.
Anyways, I moved back home but noticed she was different. I found out she had surgery to repair a torn shoulder or something that she has gotten from work. The physical abuse had stopped, but I was still afraid of her during high school. I think I found peace in just doing homework and watching movies and playing video games. To be frank, I think movies and the Internet raised me more than she ever did. She never really did get me a person. My interests. My beliefs. My goals. Maybe it was my fault. Though, she was never around. But I don't think she ever really tried. The only genuine conversation I ever had with her was when I told her I wanted to quit my 3rd year in college and she broke down telling me I had to finish and do this because she was never able to and how it would benefit me greatly in life. To be honest, at that point in my life, she had kind of warmed up to me and me to her, but I still couldn't bring myself to see it as genuine love.
Fast forward to now I live with her paying my bills and helping with rent but she is still controlling in a way. Guilt tripping me whenever I go out to get something to eat saying there is food at home. I always feel guilty if she sees me doing something not related to work. It's very difficult as I live in a one bedroom apartment and so I spend most hours of the day at my desk which is right in the living room with no privacy. After graduating she always bugged me about buying a house. She wants me to take care of her in old age. I have no interest in that. I am still young and want to do things and she still guilt trips me even though I make a good salary and am more responsible than anyone else in my family. I started paying rent and bills once I had enough of her guilt tripping and even now she still has the same behavior. Calling me about where I am and how I shouldn't stay out late. I feel suffocated. My sibling works a dead end job and pays rent as well but it seems like she lets him off easy. He has no aspirations and I have no relationship with him. My mother drove out my sister about 6 years ago accusing her of doing drugs as well. I have no idea if it was true but she is definitely a drug addict now. I have no relationship with her either. My father was a deadbeat and only around when he needed something. In some ways I feel bad for my mother because my earliest memories were of him coming home late at night drunk. So yeah, that's why I never drink. He also missed my college graduation because he was drunk so, yeah.
He was never abusive to me or my siblings but he was never really there. Sometimes he would attack my mom when drunk. I remember fondly my mother was pregnant with my sister and they were arguing on the second floor of the apartment and from what I recall he pushed her down a flight of stairs. Mind you he was drunk so I don't think he would have done that sober. I was 3 or 4 so I don't recall it very well. So it was pretty bad. And yet, even now, my mother still cares for him and feeds him whenever he stops by (my father lives with my grandparents). I feel like she has a relationship with him because they know they will need each other in old age if I don't help her.
So there it is. A short spiel of my life. Sounds bad writing it all out but I just don't know. It feels all normal to me now. What do you think?

2023.06.05 00:45 Horror-Ad1970 Has anyone read through the BPD sub and been truly shocked?
There are a few posts in there I was reading this morning that left me pretty shocked.
One post in particular: all the BPD’s in there seemed to be in agreement that their partner should constantly be aware of their list of triggers. They seemed to all agree that their partner should live their entire life with their triggers at the forefront of their mind.
The thing that disturbed me so much is that none of the BPD’s posting comments seemed to consider how tiring and draining it must be for their partners to have to constantly walk on eggshells and conform to their pwBPD’s distorted perceptions of reality. They all just seemed to be in agreement that any good partner should work really hard to not trigger them if they truly loved them.
At the heart of it, it seemed to me that they were all agreeing that their partners should treat them as though they were the center of the universe, constantly comforting them and validating their emotions no matter how unreasonable, and this seemed ok to everyone posting in the sub.
Anyway, if anyone needs a wake up call about BPD, their honesty in this sub about just how self-centered some of them are really shed some light for me…
It seems that extreme self-centeredness is at the core of BPD, but the outside world rarely gets a glimpse of just how bad it is until they are truly honest about it, like in their sub.
I know in my case, I did try my best to constantly be away of my ex pwBPD’s triggers, and it nearly killed me. I didn’t even have enough mental energy to leave the house most of the time I was so drained. And it didn’t seem to matter anyway. She would always find something to be triggered about no matter how hard I tried.

2023.06.05 00:44 waynerad Nvidia keynote: AI factories and digitized factories
I thought the digital factory part at the end was the most interesting part, but just for inclusiveness I'll mention some of the talk preceding that. The talk starts at 21:00 in the video with AI-enhanced ray tracing. He (Jensen Huang) demos a new product for using AI to generate video game assets. He shows an AI character that was given a backstory and from there, a large language model could generate all its dialogue.
After that, he talks quite a lot about how we now have a "new computing model" where "the data center is the computer". The basic idea here is that "AI supercomputers are a new type of factory". "Every company will have AI factories. AI factories produce your company's intelligence."
We now have a software capability to learn the structure of almost any information. We can learn the structure of text, sound, images, physics, proteins, DNA, chemicals, you name it. Anything that has structure, we can learn that language, including of course actual language, such as English, Chinese, Japanese, and so on.
With generative AI you can make use of that knowledge of structure, with the control/guidance coming from another source of information that we call prompts. We can generate text to text, text to image, text to proteins, text to chemicals, 2D images to 3D images, video to video, you name it.
He goes in to some detail regarding the hardware that makes this possible and how spending more on Nvidia hardware is actually cheaper in the long run because you get more computing power per unit cost and get more computing power per unit energy.
They call their AI supercomputer "Grace Hopper". The "Grace Hopper" AI supercomputer, makes a whole supercomputer function as if it was gigantic GPU.
I'm going to skip over the hardware. Ordinarily I think it might be quite interesting but I thought there was more interesting stuff in the keynote. If you're a hardware nerd, definitely watch that part of the video.
Ok, getting to about 1:47:25 in the video, he talks about "heavy industry" and introduces the idea of "reinforcement learning for physics feedback".
The idea is that what made large language models (LLMs) useful was reinforcement learning with human feedback (RHLF), a technique that trains the model to give responses that a "helpful to humans". Nvidia is working on something analogous they call "reinforcement learning for physics feedback", which is getting AI models to correctly understand physics. This is what will enable the use of AI models in factories.
He presented Nvidia Omniverse Factory Explorer, a factory digitization system. The idea is you put your whole factory in a physics simulation. Design not just your products but your entire factory digitally before you build it in the physical world. Or, make a "digital twin" of your existing factory. Plan ideas for changes digitally, then deploy in the real factory.
Omniverse Factory Explorer comes with an assortment of features, such as Omniverse Replicator, which can generate simulated manufacturing defects that occur in the real world, but are costly and you want to avoid them in the real world.
Finally (around time code 2:04:20) he announces Isaac AMR. (AMR stands for Autonomous Mobile Robots). Nvidia thinks the time has come for robots in factories that aren't anchored down, but are mobile like human factory workers. They built a robotics stack top to bottom, from the chips to the algorithms to the sensors to the cloud component. They made a new processor chips called Oren specifically for mobile robots, they made algorithms for state-of-the-art multimodal (vision, audio, tactile) perception, state-of-the-art mapping algorithms, state-of-the-art localization and planning, and they made a cloud-based mapping system.
So far, robotics and the ability to do things in the physical world has been lagging behind AI art and language and creative capability purely in the mental world. People working on AI systems have been shocked by the time compression, seeing things happen now that they didn't think would happen for decades. Is a similar time compression shock around the corner for robotics capabilities in the physical world? I would have thought no, but Jensen Huang seems to think so.

2023.06.05 00:37 BigWhiteWhalee How the heck yall do this??
Alright so this might be a little chaotic and longer as I'm unable to put my thoughts into words on this, so please bear with me.
For context, I'm a 21M and my gf is soon to be 23F. We were long distance for 3 and a half years, and moved in together after summer last year. I'm studying at collage at the moment with ambitions to become software engineeprogrammer, and my gf finished highschool with no collage and works from home in call center but it's not the best paid one and is only temporary, with no exact plans or ambitions for the future. Also i should mention we are both the first partner for each other with no prior experience with dating and anything involved, as we started dating on highschool and met online.
We had a fair share of problems throughout the years, as every relationship has, but we sorted through most of them without some bigger problems. She never was really skinny, more on the bigger side but I've never really minded it before, and i am tall skinny guy, the basic type. We never broke up, so it's not on-off relationship or anything like that. However recently i started to get some thoughts I'm not sure i like. I started to find problems that I didn't realize were there before, that I'm starting to mind a tad too much.
First off it's her appearance, she's not ugly but she's overweight now, and i think it's starting to affect me and we both notice it. I get horny without problems, can jerk off without problems, but I don't feel like having sex or getting intimate with her. She says it's okay, but i know she notices and misses it and needs it as well. I also started to notice other women more, subconsciously without even realizing it at first. I've pointed her weight out to her subtly and gently many times before, but before it was due to my concern about her health mostly, without much success. I lent her money to get threadmill and other equipment, each time stopped working out on it and sold it after a while, tried encouraging eating healthier without much success too. Says she wants to change and lose weight too, but she just might not be able to psychologically, i don't know, but I don't want to force her too hard obviously as it's her choice.
Next there's problem of her not having much ambition in life. She finished highschool without any intention of going to college, and works not the best job, without much effort to find something better. She doesn't have goals or anything, and that's okay i understand it and respect it, but it started to bug me a little. I think i would like someone more equal to me, to inspire each other and push each other forward. Also not many hobbies or things she likes to do, i don't have many hobbies myself, but she has even less than i do.
Next it's her overall health. She gets sick and nauseous often, sometimes even faints, she gets scared easily and then makes a big thing even from a small pain in arm or leg, which makes it even worse and so on and on. I get it it's not her fault and I'm trying to be there for her, to make her feel safe and all, but it's getting to a point where she's unable to stay alone in a flat when i have to leave to visit my parents or anything and she rather goes to visit her mom too than staying alone a night or two on her own. I'm trying to understand it and respect it, but it's a little bit too attached than i would like, she's an adult and should be able to handle few nights on her own i think.
With health there comes also the future plans. The more i try to think about having family with her in the future or anything like that, the more i think it's not the best idea. By instinct i want the mother of my kids to be as healthy as possible, to deliver healthy baby if we ever decide to have one, but also to be able to get through the pregnancy without complications on her side that could endanger her or something. It's further in the future but it's starting to bug me too.. with that there comes the question of marriage, as i want kids one day for sure, marriage becomes questionable as well.
My question is i guess, how the hell am I supposed to make heads and tails out of all this? I still love her and have feelings for her, i don't want to hurt her and she's really dependant on me, and i don't know even if i want to break up. Renting a place together makes it even more hard, since even if we break up, we would have to solve moving out, and as we moved quite far from our homes, it wouldn't be easiest to move back and since she doesn't make much monthly she would not be able to rent on her own. She also doesn't have many friends here as she works from home, so that's not an option too. And overall i don't even know if i want to go that way, i don't want to throw 4 years of working together on building something, our relationship just to throw it away and start again.. it's just really confusing. At the same time there's other side that tells me I'm still young and when uncertain i should probably try to find better fit, after all this was my and ours first try on a serious relationship.
If you need any additional info ask and I'll edit, i can't think of anything else to add and it's getting a tad long too. Thanks everyone who got through it all, i appreciate it.

2023.06.05 00:35 Middle_Biscotti_6580 Vision issues after looking at light
Hello so I'm 21 and got a new job recently at work they use what they call steering wheel lights to work on aircraft they have them next to them and they're fine with them. For me they're pretty dam bright and put of instinct I looked at one on the table and now I have a yellow patch on my center vision
I must of looked for less than a second and as usual when I stared away I could see it still. Well it faded a bit but now it's sorta always there and it's only noticable when I look at a white wall or grey. It still lets through other colors and it's not stopped or made the area colour blind it's just a patch of faded yellow and it's there but if u look for it u spot it easy.
Any advice? It's been 20 days since and still have the issue. Going to go to an optician to see if the damage will disappear on its own or if I need something to reverse it. My eyes are also pretty sensitive to the light now too.
Have I permanently ruined my eye sight.?? I'm very depressed and super worried about this

2023.06.05 00:27 YngDmbnFoC Homeless with kids…
I’m extremely embarrassed but I’m also at an all time low… We’re in a seedy motel right now- myself, my spouse who is also a vet, and our 3 kids. I really am disappointed and idk…I feel like a failure. I’ve called 4 different veteran homeless centers as well as my social worker…I’ve been trying for housing for a month now. But they either have nothing or aren’t open on the weekends.
I left the military and everything has gone to shit. I’ve applied to multiple jobs every week for 3 months now…nothing. We’re both prior 2A from the Air Force. My spouse pulled a part time job at Home Depot and it’s letting us buy diapers… Idk what I’m doing…. I think I’m just here looking for assurance. I’m tired of crying. I think the only thing stopping me from doing something dumb is my kids dependency on me. But damn I’m so tired of constant losing.

2023.06.05 00:25 K_Jeyes What’s something you ALWAYS cut corners on?
I saw the opposite of this on the thread recently and I’m curious. I will call my self out first of course ( I’m an ex-partner now )
I would never shake refreshers or teas, instead of just swirl the cup a few times in my hand. ( unless it had coconut milk of course )
I batched every single frap possible
I’d mix stuff in the ovens 😭 I know this is a bad one but (if no one specified allergies and requested clean tongs) the tongs were covered in random residue anyways 🤷♀️. I wouldn’t do it with food food really but I’m throwing the pumpkin and blueberry muffin in together
If we were out of cold brew I’d give people ice coffee and vice versa
I’d do blonde americanos/ decaf americanos if they ordered it( the brewed option) after we dumped it for the day
I can’t think of anything else! Mind you we had an extremely high volume ( normal morning peak would have 90-100 half hours) no drive thru store with and extremely entitled customer base as we were centered in a very affluent neighborhood. 9/10 times it was easier so everyone to just give them what they “wanted” as quick as possible. They don’t notice anyways so why give myself the headache.

2023.06.05 00:19 HealBeforeZod The Shift from Hell Part 2 of 2
Click here to read Part 1 Violence Kastor wheeled his cart in the direction where the bathrooms would be in the building where he worked. Exhausted, he did not notice that when he walked past the other stalls to clean a toilet, that he walked past someone whose head was being dunked into a toilet by an imp. The imp cackled, “it’s just a prank, bro.” Kastor overheard when he was finishing up the bathroom and turned to the imp, not noticing the creature’s inhuman appearance.
“Hey, don’t make me call HR.” He said, pointing a stern finger at the imp.
The imp paused, then Kastor continued to the next room, leaving behind the imp and the soul of a man who in life had hosted an obnoxious prank show that frequently led to people getting seriously injured.
Fraud The next room was a mess, the floor covered in broken pieces of objects.
Kastor, ignoring the occupants and focusing on the mess, didn’t realize the room was filled with influencers and media personalities. Here they were forced for all eternity to only have access to the faulty goods, foods, and services they had peddled in life. They wore poorly constructed, ill-fitting clothes, ate food with terrible taste, and many of the objects they held crumbled to pieces easily, causing more mess for Kastor to clean up. Kastor muttered under his breath, then proceeded to the final room.
Treachery The boss’s office was always last on Kastor’s route. Kastor entered the room, fine leather chairs, a large, mahogany desk. Kastor paused, his mouth agape at the sight of the entity in the large office chair. A pale, impeccably dressed man with slicked back hair watched him. Kastor’s eyes looked around the room, realizing there was no room like it in the office building where he worked. He pinched himself, but he did not wake up.
“Again?!” The well-dressed man stood up from his chair, “this is the third time this week!”
Kastor stood by, confused. In a quavering voice he asked, “where am I and who are you?”
“Oh, for the love of—HELL! You are in hell. And I suppose you could think of me as the devil, though the situation is far more nuanced than that. Let me guess, did you see a ring of fire and decide to walk through it?”
“Um,” Kastor paused, trying to recall his evening, it was a blur. “I, uh, I’m not sure. It’s been a long day.”
“Let me guess, you work in an office building?”
“Uh, yes.” Kastor nodded.
“Damn humans making their workspaces so similar to Hell that it creates a metaphysical link. It’s happened three times this week alone, THREE TIMES. This poor call center agent accidentally plopped into the 5th circle two days ago. Mind you, she is still very much alive and far too kind to end up here. I mean, I know I am supposed to delight in human suffering, but what is there left for me to do? My work is meaningless, Earth and Hell are pretty much interchangeable!” The devil paced back and forth in the room, muttering curses. While Kastor was unnerved that he somehow wandered into Hell, and he knew objectively the devil was supposed to be pure evil, he did feel a little bad for the devil.
“I’m sorry?”
“Not your fault, I’m just nettled is all.” The devil replied, settling back into his chair with a prolonged sigh. Kastor paused, trying to think of something he could say to console the devil, a situation he would have never imagined himself in.
“Perhaps think of it as franchising?” Kastor suggested. “You’re just expanding operations to Earth?” Upon hearing Kastor’s take on the matter, the devil’s mouth widened in a genuine grin.
“You’re right!” The devil leaned back in his chair, propping his arms behind his head. “Franchising, that’s a good point of view. Tell me, are you interested in new employment? I could use a new head of PR, the last one left for a job in cable news.”
“Oh, um,” Kastor gulped. His job was awful, paid minimum wage, and was so agonizingly tedious that he accidentally walked into Hell, unable to tell the difference. He reached down into his wallet and pulled out a picture of his Lola. He remembered her disappointment when he ate all the lumpia as a child. What would she think of him if he worked for literal Satan? He lifted his eyes to the devil and shook his head, “I appreciate the offer, but I must decline. I don’t want to disappoint my Lola.”
The devil sighed deeply, “I suppose I shall send you back then.” He paused, shifting his eyes, “this was, um, a moral test. Congratulations, you are now going to heaven for your ability to turn down temptation, yay.” The devil’s tone was monotone. He snapped his fingers, sending Kastor back to the janitor’s closet.
The devil, alone in his now-empty room, lowered his head. It hadn’t been a test. He really did need a new head of PR.

2023.06.05 00:12 Vampqueen32 Need Advice
I currently work from home. The job wasn’t bad when I first started, but as the months have gone by, I realize that it’s not for me. It is drastically affecting my mental health, which will eventually affect my work performance (it’s not a call center job, but it feels like it sometimes). This is my first WFH job, and I didn’t realize how much I like going to work and interacting with people in person. Communicating over the phone, chat, and email just isn’t cutting it. I really want to leave. Any advice on how to make working from home not so bad? Or should I look for something else?

2023.06.05 00:11 HealBeforeZod The Shift from Hell Part 1 of 2
Zod's notes: A response to a writing prompt in which a janitor unwittingly walks through a portal to Hell. I had some fun interpreting the various circles of hell for this dark comedy.
Original Prompt Limbo The smell of sulfur did not concern Kastor as he wheeled his cart through the door to the janitor’s closet. He sighed and muttered something about a nearby sewage backup, muttering curses in Tagalog. Kastor did not notice the ring of flames that stretched from the floor to the ceiling and led to a dark cavern. He was 9 hours into a 12-hour shift (the joys of mandatory overtime), so his observational skills were not what they should have been. While replenishing cleaning supplies on his cart, his foot moved just a few inches past the circle of fire. Kastor and his cart were pulled into the portal. The portal closed, leaving Kastor and his cart within the dark cavern. Kastor paused for a moment, having felt the involuntary movement of his body, but he shrugged and admitted he must have wobbled due to exhaustion.
Kastor turned and began wheeling his cart, his body and his brain both on autopilot. After all, janitorial work was horrendously monotonous. Around him stretched a vast, dark cavern. Kastor sighed, noting that a light must be out again, but he did not feel like going back to the janitor’s closet to fetch a lightbulb. He began to sweep the cavern floor, noting vaguely that the floor seemed extra dirty tonight. As he swept, his mind drifted to memories of times when he had done something wrong. He thought about the time he cheated on his third-grade math test, or the time he blamed his sister when he ate all the lumpia they were going to bring to Lola’s house.
Lust As Kastor finished sweeping in what he thought was the main hallway (which felt much longer than usual), he heard faint music growing louder as he wheeled his cart through an archway of stone. Kastor entered a new room, this one with a tiled floor much like the one Kastor cleaned daily, there were speakers in every corner of the room blasting “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen at full volume.
There were hundreds of people in the room, many trying to cover their ears, rocking back and forth. In life, they were people who sent unsolicited pictures of their genitalia and called people “ugly” or “fat” whenever their sexual advances were declined. They were the ones who did not understand how to take “no” for an answer.
When the song hit its conclusion there was a split second of silence, and then the song began to play from the beginning. There was a cry of “not again!” and “make it stop!”. Someone mentioned that it could be worse, as for several decades the previous song was “What’s New Pussycat” by Tom Jones. Kastor muttered something about the building radio station being repetitive again, while sweeping and mopping the floor, “Call Me Maybe” continuing to play until Kastor rolled his cart onward.
Gluttony Kastor wheeled his cart through a doorway into the next area. For the first time since entering Hell, he observed his surroundings. Curiously, perhaps through some cosmic coincidence, the room looked exactly like the breakroom Kastor was going to clean. The air smelled of microwaved fish. Kastor cursed and scrubbed out the microwave, though, he was somehow unable to cleanse the smell. He was surprised how many people were in the breakroom this late at night, but he proceeded to wipe down the empty tables. The people at the tables sat hungry, no food left for them because everything they had brought had been eaten from the fridge. All that was left was a handful of ketchup packets and a jar of expired mayo. In life, they had been the ones who stole food from their coworkers or roommates, or the ones who microwaved fish in the breakroom.
Avarice After finishing his work in the breakroom, Kastor wheeled his cart through the doorway, and blinked, was he home? He was standing in a modest, studio apartment that looked like his own. There was a strange man on the couch, eating ramen. The man looked suspiciously like the owner of a company Kastor used to work for. That couldn’t be, Kastor thought, as said owner passed away two years ago.
The man eating the ramen was a billionaire in life, but in the afterlife, he shared the studio apartment with three other people. He rode the bus, did not have money to care for his medical needs, and prayed nothing would break, as he could not afford repairs. In this circle of Hell, the man, and others who exploited their workers for profit, now lived on the resources of their poorest paid workers. As such, he lived on a minimum wage budget. But it could be worse, his roommate had unpaid interns when he was alive.
Kastor did a double take at the stranger in his room, and walked out the door with his cart, preparing to make a phone call to the police about an intruder when he was taken to the next circle.
Wrath Kastor stepped into the next hall, and resolved he must have imagined being out of work. What he saw looked exactly like the building he worked in. There was an endless sea of gray-colored cubicles that were several feet tall. Fluorescent lighting lit the way. Kastor proceeded to empty the trash cans, he noticed, to his surprise, people were still working in the cubes, the office was very busy tonight. He thought it strange but did not look too closely at the occupants of the cubicles.
“I am sorry bu—” A woman wearing a headset tried to explain to an imp on the other end of the phone call. The screaming coming through the headset was so loud that Kastor could hear it several feet away. This did not surprise Kastor, as, he was aware the few times he had encountered staff working, it was not uncommon for them to take angry calls from customers. Kastor continued to empty trash and vacuum the area, unaware that the people working in the cubicles were the souls of those who had antagonized customer service reps in life. Now they worked an eternal call center shift, and all the vitriol they had spewed to others was now served onto them.
Kastor continued his work as though it was any other Tuesday.
Heresy It was time to go to the dumpster. Kastor walked out the door and paused for a moment, something seemed different, but he reminded himself he was just tired. There were people everywhere by the dumpster, which was rather unusual. When Kastor emptied the trash, the people mobbed the dumpster, searching for any scrap of food or valuable item.
Several people asked Kastor for change. Kastor backed away slowly towards the door, stating, truthfully, that he didn’t have any money on him and that he needed to continue working. If Kastor had paid more attention, he would have noticed a row of imps holding signs that read “God Hates You”. Some of the imps threw rocks at the people around the dumpster.
Kastor and his cart went back inside, closing the door behind him on the deceased souls of those who in life used religion as a weapon instead of a way to become better people.

2023.06.05 00:10 spunchy M&B Lecture 5: The Central Bank as a Clearinghouse
| For our schedule and links to other discussions, see the Money and Banking 2023 master post. This is the discussion thread for Economics of Money and Banking Lecture 5: The Central Bank as a Clearinghouse. The lecture begins our discussion of banking as a payments system. We start with the interconnectedness of bank balance sheets that allow the payment system to operate smoothly. The central bank helps knit the payment system together to approximate the behavior of one big bank. We cover correspondent banking and central bank cooperation. Part 1: FT: Martin Wolf on QE3 As the press release of the open market committee stated: “If the outlook for the labor market does not improve substantially, the Committee will continue its purchases of agency mortgage-backed securities, undertake additional asset purchases, and employ its other policy tools as appropriate until such improvement is achieved in a context of price stability.” This is also “consistent with its statutory mandate”, to foster “maximum employment and price stability”. —Bernanke makes a historic choice How should we understand QE3? The Fed promises to buy MBS, and possibly other assets, at a fixed and steady pace until employment improves. The immediate effect is to absorb such assets from elsewhere in the financial system. This is, in the first instance, a boost to the liquidity of these securities: when a big-time buyer is out there, it will be easier to sell, and knowing that a big-time buyer will continue to be out there, others will be more likely to buy. — QE3 The Money View I've added "Builders" to the balance sheet from the blog post to show where the money goes and where the houses come from: https://preview.redd.it/q8ui8v69o24b1.png?width=1133&format=png&auto=webp&s=c24e93eb8e763849022eada0aa4974edf9433170 At the highest level, finally, does QE3 get at what is keeping aggregate demand down? If the problem remains, still, overindebted households unwilling to increase their demand for newly produced goods and services, then this liquidity-providing operation will have very little effect. If there is too much debt out there, and it is to be reduced, someone will have to write that debt down against equity. This is not a feature of QE3 as announced. — QE3 The Money View The goal was to return to nominal GDP trend, but we were falling further behind. Part 2: One Big Bank The payments system functions as if it were operating on the balance sheet of one big bank. Everyone can pay each other using bank deposits as if all bank deposits were equivalent. The IMF works more like a "pure money" one-big-bank system. Its balance sheet does not expand or contract as countries make payments to one another. In a "pure money" one-big-bank system, the quantity of money (deposits) doesn't change. Depositors pay each other by assignment, which appears as novation on the balance sheet of the bank: one deposit account takes on liabilities previously held by another: https://preview.redd.it/7ifoequao24b1.png?width=847&format=png&auto=webp&s=21f2884c7dced3a3839116a8e10b37d0a6c556c1 The Fed works more like a credit system. A "pure credit" one-big-bank system has no reserves. Instead, surplus agents have deposits at the bank, which they hold as assets. Deficit agents have "overdrafts" at the bank, which are their liabilities. https://preview.redd.it/uk0qf9bco24b1.png?width=268&format=png&auto=webp&s=d832d2aaddc01d60a136d952e481eee72e00d3b3 Depositors make payments through the bank. Below is the matrix from the lecture that shows whether the bank's balance sheet expands, contracts, or stays the same size. Payers are on the vertical axis. Payees are on the horizontal axis. https://preview.redd.it/p1wimxoeo24b1.png?width=125&format=png&auto=webp&s=11760b09ddf1761033e5fdbbe923a48d1a7db085 Surplus agents pay each other by assigning deposits. Deficit agents pay each other by novating overdrafts. Deficit agents pay surplus agents by issuance, intermediated by the bank. Surplus agents pay deficit agents by set off, again intermediated by the bank. This matrix assumes that the bank's balance sheet expands only when necessary. It shrinks whenever possible. Otherwise, everybody could make all payments by issuance, and balance sheets would only ever expand. The Money Stock In a footnote to the lecture notes, Perry points out that the elasticity of credit makes it hard to define the size of the money stock. Note in passing that this way of thinking about the payments system raises deep questions about how properly to measure the money supply. —Lecture Notes He provides three options. - The sum of deposits.
- The sum of deposits minus overdrafts.
- The sum of deposits plus credit limits (the "minus" is a typo in the notes).
The first option is closest to how people usually think about the money supply. But in a world with the possibility for overdrafts, it doesn't measure agents' spending potential. The second option also doesn't measure people's overall purchasing power. If you're in a pure credit system, deposits and overdrafts exactly net out to zero, but we know there's purchasing power in the system. The third option reflects the idea that there's more gross purchasing power when people have higher credit limits. But credit limits don't appear on anyone's balance sheet. How do we measure them? The balance sheets tell the same story regardless of how you define or measure the money stock. Part 3: Multiple Banks, a challenge In the real world, the challenge is to knit multiple bank balance sheets together into a single payment system. When deposits move through the banking system, there is a notional flow of reserves behind the scenes. https://preview.redd.it/5fz7oyp1p24b1.png?width=558&format=png&auto=webp&s=f6baed3bb7fa55e9b9f3daa5da2c2d80a34178c9 Notice that reserves move (assignment) along with the deposits (novation). In quadruple-entry accounting, this is a transfer of portfolio. Bank A's balance sheet contracts on both sides while Bank B's balance sheet expandson both sides. In the example above, the consolidated balance sheet of the banking system as a whole remains the same size. Unlike with one big bank, the reserves matter. The deficit bank can run out of reserves and come up against the settlement constraint. There's more discipline than in a system with one big bank. Banks run the payments system by expanding and contracting their balance sheets on both sides. The net worth of neither the individual banks nor the banking system as a whole changes as depositors make payments to each other. If banks refused to run the payment system, it would force depositors to withdraw cash whenever they wanted to make payments. See the below set of balance sheets. https://preview.redd.it/x1tai1fzo24b1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=0e320bcd0a430e9035a0a8a89e8cee2d82bfa465 There are two scenarios here: A and B. Each is a different way for Depositor α at Bank A to pay Depositor γ at Bank B. Both start and end with the same balance-sheet positions. Scenario A has 5 steps: - A1: Bank A exchanges reserves for cash. This is a refinance operation with the central bank's balance sheet (not shown).
- A2: Depositor α withdraws the cash. This is an asset disintermediation.
- A3: α pays the cash to γ in payment by assignment.
- A4: γ deposits the cash into Bank B, which is an asset intermediation.
- A5: Bank B exchanges the cash back into reserves (deposits at the central bank).
The payment takes place outside the banking system. Whenever depositors are making payments in this way, the reserves are just gone from the system. It's more convenient for the banks to send the payment directly to the other bank instead of having depositors withdraw their money. This is scenario B. Making payments directly through account balances reduces the need for depositors to withdraw cash. It allows banks to economize on reserves. Offering demand deposits, therefore, basically forces banks to run the payments system. When appropriate, we can treat bank deposits as outside asset for our layer of the hierarchy simply by ignoring the balance sheets of the banks. Part 4: Reading: Charles F. Dunbar The reading for this Wednesday is a chapter by Charles Dunbar about how the United States checking system worked in the late 19th century before we had a central bank. Below is a simple representation of payment by check between depositors at two banks at the same level of the hierarchy. https://preview.redd.it/0ozi6korp24b1.png?width=901&format=png&auto=webp&s=3e879bf2b0a8134ccee9ecef03083a8adbfd2c0e Part 5: Correspondent banking, bilateral balances A check is an order to pay. Each bank receives orders to pay throughout the day and then nets them out. https://preview.redd.it/oblni8wup24b1.png?width=427&format=png&auto=webp&s=d9ad8403194efcbec07de0faf85591656125fb98 After they clear by netting out offsetting promises to pay, the banks could settle the difference by paying in reserves (transfer of portfolio). But it can be more convenient for the banks to have deposit accounts with each other. These are called correspondent balances. There are two ways to resolve a payment from a bank A customer to a payment to a bank B customer using correspondent balances: - A liability disintermediation that contracts A's balance sheet.
https://preview.redd.it/t58zbfdyp24b1.png?width=555&format=png&auto=webp&s=bcc188add9fc1d79f01421f61ce08330dfb0acbe - A liability intermediation that expands B's balance sheet.
https://preview.redd.it/kzicxvt1q24b1.png?width=556&format=png&auto=webp&s=94667d88cb0aa2115148ea194c21346c1440dbae In practice, there's a hierarchy of banks, and the small country banks will be the ones that hold deposit balances in the bigger city banks. The action will happen on the big bank's balance sheet. - Here's Perry's source on bankers' balances by Leonard Lyon Watkins: Bankers' Balances
Part 6: Correspondent banking, system network Here's a diagram similar to the one Mehrling draws on the board. Money-center Banks A and B have correspondent accounts at New York Bank C. Depositors α and β's banks have correspondent accounts at money-center Bank A. γ's bank has a correspondent account at Bank C, and λ's bank has a correspondent account at Bank B. https://preview.redd.it/r3h8b2d5q24b1.png?width=960&format=png&auto=webp&s=8bab35d6ea48ec0b63c5cf48cee5105f5d5e7630 There are multiple layers of the correspondent-banking hierarchy. The idea is to economize on reserves. Do as much netting as possible so reserves don't have to flow. Use credit as much as possible so reserves don't have to flow. Here's what it looks like (notionally) for α to pay λ. https://preview.redd.it/vvp29757q24b1.png?width=1065&format=png&auto=webp&s=5ade9969f7e31d9af86dadbf688f4ceca1a69c5b I've arranged the balance sheets so you can see the hierarchy. Each balance sheet uses as reserves deposits in the bank above it. This flow of reserves is only "notional" because it might be offset with a payment going in the opposite direction. In that case, no reserves will actually flow. Now imagine that λ has its correspondent account directly at money-center bank B. When α to pays λ, there is a contraction of deposits at an intermediate layer of the hierarchy. https://preview.redd.it/wjjy913aq24b1.png?width=1058&format=png&auto=webp&s=381d71e0fda9255a354d106f0ecbfe8bcc0a5705 From the perspective of α and λ, it's all the same. Note that, since the correspondent system is a credit system, we are not constrained by the quantity of gold, only by the various bi-lateral credit limits.—Lecture Notes The accumulation of orders to pay throughout the day is not constrained by reserves. Only the final settlement (after netting) is reserve-constrained. Part 7: Clearinghouse, normal operations Banks cooperating to form a clearinghouse is an example of the emergence of hierarchy. The banks are installing a layer of the hierarchy above themselves for the purpose of providing elasticity. That elasticity can then propagate further down the hierarchy. Here are some simple balance sheets showing the New York Clearinghouse Association. https://preview.redd.it/pez4wldeq24b1.png?width=557&format=png&auto=webp&s=8cad3a85eb4135191e20125e14ea08e75774f79d Clearinghouse certificates are notes that stand in for gold. They're not just promises to pay gold. Each note corresponds to gold that's actually held in reserve. All promised payments are mutual obligations of members of the clearinghouse. The credit of the aggregate is better than the credit of any individual bank. The clearinghouse is a credit system during the day but a money system when settling at the end of the day. If a member bank is a net debtor at the end of the day, it has to choose from the following options: - Pay with clearinghouse certificates.
- Borrow from another member.
- Default.
The second option is what we call a money market. The money market is the market where banks borrow reserves from each other short-term to meet payments deficits. In addition to facilitating the payments system, the money market can also fund longer-term positions that need to be continually rolled over. We'll talk about this more in future lectures. Here's a book about the history of clearinghouses that Merhling recommends. Part 8: Clearinghouse, private lender of last resort In times of stress, when member banks collectively lack sufficient reserves, the members can borrow from the clearinghouse itself. The clearinghouse funds the loan by issuing a clearinghouse loan certificate. Whereas the clearinghouse certificate is directly backed by gold, the clearinghouse loan certificate is backed by the loan instead. lecture5-b9-loan-certificate.png The Clearinghouse is a private lender of last resort. Clearinghouse loan certificates are like banknotes, but they're issued against member loans rather than the special 2% government bonds. Before 1907, it wasn't clear that they were legal. Sometimes, it was hard for the clearinghouse to get the loan certificates back because they paid so well. Here's a paper by the same author as the above book that describes clearinghouse loan certificates in more detail. Part 9: Central Bank Clearing https://preview.redd.it/c0vgk2gsq24b1.png?width=558&format=png&auto=webp&s=41b5c8c976f7874e647261e2cbda62ed6ccb3383 Central banking can be understood as nothing more than one step beyond the clearinghouse, a kind of regularization and strengthening of the clearinghouse system that goes the extra step of obliterating the difference between clearinghouse certificates and clearinghouse loan certificates.—Lecture Notes https://preview.redd.it/1t996zltq24b1.png?width=742&format=png&auto=webp&s=90d0770720c03c36fd780f6afdfcd3a1f8a3db68 In the above set of balance sheets, "money" is an umbrella term for reserves (deposits) and Federal Reserve Notes. It shows that the Fed can support members by lending to them through the discount window (not the same thing as discounting) or by buying assets from their balance sheets (more analogous to discounting). Today, there are two clearing systems: one public (Fedwire) and one private (CHIPS). CHIPS is the modern version of the NYCA. CHIPS clears first, and then everything settles on Fedwire. Part 10: Central Bank Cooperation If someone above you in the hierarchy needs to be paid in reserves (external drain), your choice is to pay up or to default (suspend payments). If someone below you in the hierarchy needs to be paid (internal drain), your liabilities are their reserves. You can expand your balance sheet. No problem. When you're a central bank and you run out of gold, you suspend specie payments. That's suspending the exchange rate fixed with gold. It suspends the promise that you will maintain the mint par with gold. Instead of suspending payments, it's possible for all the central banks to expand their balance sheets at the same time when experiencing stress. It's like an international clearinghouse adding elasticity at the top of the system. In 2012, the five central banks that matter were all expanding their balance sheets together: Fed, ECB, BoE, SNB, and BoJ. Today, Mehrling adds the Bank of Canada to that list and calls them as a group the C6, with the C standing for "central bank." Please post any questions and comments below. We will have a one-hour live discussion of Lecture 5 and Lecture 6 on Monday, June 5th, at 2:00pm EDT. submitted by spunchy to moneyview [link] [comments] |
2023.06.05 00:05 Dont_Smoking Random theory that I feel like needs to exist.
Since many space bodies create a system by a center of gravity creating revolution or otherwise just clustered together, what if there were universal clusters creating their own verse by the energy around them? How many different universes form a multiverse? For a scenario that this is true, let’s call each individual universe a monoverse, because it’s made up of itself and only itself—one system. This system is made up of a finite number of one-dimensional universes that are finite in size and scattered across a finite plane. This plane is its own finite universe called a duoverse. Finite of these are scattered across a finite space called a trioverse, which is what we’d live in. You can tell what is going on.

2023.06.05 00:02 Eden_Vp My(19F) mom's (49F) boyfriend is a narcissist and I need to help her
TL:DR at the end.
This is a long post, so strap yourselves in. Throwaway account due to confusion in passwords.
My mom (49F) and my dad (50M) have been divorced for 2/3 years now. I made a post about this before of how my mom dealt with that on my main.
During the divorce, she tried to blackmail me (19F) and my younger sister (17F) into disliking and distrusting my dad. This failed, and thus, she tried to guilt us into it instead.
She brought up how my dad abused her, pushed her down the stairs, in 2009, when I was 5 years old, and some more stuff about how he has blatant favoritism towards my younger sister.
This has been proven untrue, the favoritism, as he was too focused on me becoming 18 and dealing with the stress of the divorce, work, the house, and my grandparents during covid.
When me and my sister and I brought up the abuse, he admitted it to be true and never did anything like it ever again, which, when asked my mom, was also true.
We live full time with my dad, whereas my sister broke off all contact with my mom until she gets a formal apology for the trauma she's caused.
I still see her every now and again. My sister and I both have trauma. Being locked in her boyfriend's house from 9 AM to 5 PM or so without permission to grab food in the blazing summer and no open windows, my dog being tied to a pole outside when wet and shaking when we tied him loose, and constantly being told our money would get stolen by my dad and how terrible of daughters we were to her, etc.
Her boyfriend, (50-ishM), is a tall guy. He looks and talks like a sociable guy and looks honest and trustworthy.
We met him around the beginning of the divorce, the guy who my mom cheated on my dad with.
He tried to win us to his friendly side by giving us the food we wanted and cooking sushi with me. But he had comments about my sister's weight, which caused her to break contact soon after a year.
It wasn't until the last time my sister and I went together that we saw his true colors.
My sister hates being confronted about her weight, mostly because she's always been coddled about it. When confronted, she starts crying.
I tried to shift the subject by talking about how the first few court sessions went, mentioning how my grandpa told me he thought my mom's boyfriend was following him.
It was on camera, and I'd seen the footage, so I know it was true. He denied that he did anything and got mad at me. Really mad.
My mom sat there as her boyfriend stood up, towered over us, and screamed on our face about how my family was lying and he would never pull something like that, and that I'd better think twice before accusing him of stalking.
Both me and my sister were crying at this point, as I have trauma from being yelled at.
My mom sat there and did nothing. No words of comfort, no telling him get away, not even getting rid of his demeanor.
That was the last time my sister went, and they demanded to see her alone multiple times. She refused to do so and hasn't had contact since except for a few text fights.
I stayed home for a while after that too, focusing on school and stuff. We haven't seen my grandparents on my mom's side since covid started.
That was also the last time my mom took us anywhere outside of her boyfriends house.
Every time I was told that we were going somewhere, it was at his house. Never anywhere I felt safe anymore.
But when I asked, he was always there. I haven't felt comfortable since, but I kept going to her because she's my mom.
I felt obligated to go. She raised me for 16 years, I have to.
Our relationship stayed rather wobbly. Like a thin rope.
During the years, my mom's boyfriend went after my dad. Trying to steal money using the court, breaking in and stealing our house keys, deleting all of our baby pictures from the photo drive, and breaking the window by our door and denting the car.
Driving in front of the house, parking his car in ways my dad had no way out of the parking lots, following him around and threatening him in the grocery store.
Mind you, my mom was at every one of these situations and did nothing.
My dad let it go and made peace with it a few weeks ago. It took him a long time to accept mom wasn't the same woman he knew anymore. Especially because he still loved her during the divorce. I'm not sure if he still does.
My grandparents on my dad's side see the difference and are extremely disappointed in her.
We reported him for stalking multiple times and had to hang cameras by our doors to feel safe, which we eventually never did.
There was a time during winter where I got up early to go to school and discovered footsteps in the snow of our backyard. Leading to our door.
Safe to say I was terrified. I went to school that day feeling like I was being watched. This took a few weeks to get rid of.
I'm glad I discovered them and not my sister though. But my dad went through a lot with this divorce. So much so that even after my mom's boyfriend got reported to the police and got multiple warnings, my dad felt so unsafe in his own house we moved.
We found a place we finally felt we could start over, but due to the stalking behavior I was told not to say anything about the house or the move.
I obliged, not wanting to talk about it either.
To my shock, they already knew. Over the course a few weeks of me playing dumb, my moms boyfriend knew exactly where we were moving to, when we were moving out, and when we would pay off our old house.
He works in the field with marketing houses and stuff.
They called me pathetic that I couldn't speak freely to them and that being ordered not to talk about where her kids were going was like a kidnapping.
Another note, they like to drink wine.
There was a green wine bottle shattered in the backyard. Chardonnay. I stepped in a big piece with my bare foot. No wounds, but it hurt.
It was him, 100%. I know it was, because when I brought up I got hurt by a glass shard, my mom glanced at him with a worried expression.
Last week I went again, this time my mom opened up about how she felt that because of my lying I didn't see her a my mom anymore.
I do still see her as my mom and I still love her as my mom. But the trauma she inflicted on me and her refusal to listen made me feel horrible about not going.
Thats when I found the deeper worry.
My hairdresser likes to gossip and keep me and my dad updated, since all of our neighbors go to the same hairdresser.
Our neighbors and all of my moms friends, around the middle of the divorce, were asked to spy on my dad. They refused, and so my mom cut them out her life.
Her boyfriend started threatening them, saying they were never true friends if they wouldn't do that.
My mom's boyfriend is an emotionally manipulative narcissist.
She doesn't see it, because she cut all her friends because he said so. He's brainwashed her into his circle.
Even his friends think he's a self centered asshole.
He's very well known around the town as a woman abuser and narcissist who can't do anything wrong himself, but people put up with him because of his temper.
If I tell my mom anything, she's going to tell her boyfriend. I'm going to get people in trouble, and no matter what I do, I'm going to get the blame set on my dad, me, or anyone else in the family who has nothing to do with it.
I am terrified of her boyfriend, and I want my mom back. The mom that actually cared for me and my sister.
The mom who would never accept her boyfriend scarring her children.
There is much more that happened in between with my sister and her, but that might be for another time.
I want to break them up, but I have no idea where to begin. I can't talk to my mom and I can't go to the cops because I have no proof but a few people with statements who I'm barely friends with.
How can I make my mom see that he's bad for him? Or should I let her figure it out?
My boyfriend thinks she sit in the hole she dug and deal with it. He hates seeing me losing and gaining trust in my mom like a lost puppy, and I get where he's coming from.
I just don't want to leave my mom there, because I know I stop going to her, he'll have full control over her. And that's something I'll never allow such an asshole to do.
Any advise is welcome, I need the help. Also sorry if this became a bit unclear at the end, I was crying writing this.
TL:DR
My mom's boyfriend is emotionally manipulative and a narcissist and brainwashed her into believing everything is my dad's fault. I want to break them up.
