so we have been together for 6 months. We really know we love eachother and wanna be together forever (pls don’t comment and tell me it’s too early to know, bc we’re happy) but here’s the thing. I live in alabama And he lives in NYC right now because of his job. He had already resigned his lease at his current nyc apartment for another year and he lives with two of his college friends. He really wants me to move to nyc right now so that we don’t have to do distance anymore. Next year at some point he is going to relocate to california and I would go with him on that adventure and we would love to make that our own adventure…

As much fun as it sounds to move to nyc for a little to date him and focus on our life, our relationship is extremely healthy rn and I know once we move to california things will probably pick up speed a bit more.. so the only thing holding me back rn is just that I battle between thinking this time rn in between should be dedicated to my parents & my family down south that I’m close too because once I move you know how things go! And we wouldn’t live together in nyc anyways…. I love visiting the city but couldn’t see myself being a city girl lol. So yeah idk. I have an interview tomorrow afternoon for a team member position and I'm a bit nervous. This will be my first ever time working in fast food.
I do have a relative working there, and it's only a block away from my apartment, so I don't think it'll be all too bad. I'd still appreciate any advice though.

I am a half blind person who was raised in an immigrant community. I grew up in a kind of bubble of Eastern Europeans and Asians, with not a lot of cultural exposure to "typical America" until I started working in hospitality. I am out of college now for 4 years, and had to move out to a better paying job in a maor city. It's not even been 2 months, and I feel I royally messed up.
I live with 3 roommates, 2 of whom are chronically online, calling themselves "Black Identitarians".. I have yet to ask if they know what that word means. Mostly they are polite, but really ignorant and distant/passive aggressive. I am the only working person, and I am mid 20s.
I told them that I am blind (to save us from a huge conversation, I keep it simple), that I need things to be at leas mildly organized, particularly in the freezer. Just a little section for only my things. I reccently bought more macaroni than I could cook in one sitting, so I put it in a ziploc bag, label it, and pop it in the freezer. It is now gone. I bought 2 boxes of breakfast sandwiches - they decided to take thoe boxes and throw them out to make space for some huge plastic container. Half the sandwiches are gone, the other hallf are all across the freezer so I have to dig whenever I want one. I had mixed veggies , same thing, they're gone.
I have tried to have a conversation with these people, but they're very distant. While I work days, they party until 2am - in our apartment. I am no stranger to long nights, but my god.. The few times I have talked with them about similar issues (not taking the trash out), I stepped up and did the work but asked them to chip in ince it's mostly their stuff piling up. They refused... so now I am left to clean it up?
II just have no idea how to deal with these people.. I would much rather live in the suburbs even if it meantt spike in transit costs, than live where I am now.

When I'm left home alone I'm constantly afraid there's somebody else in the house with me and sometimes I look through each room with a knife in hand (Like under the beds or inside wardrobes as if I'm going to find somebody in there)

So about a year ago, we moved into a home and paid $2000 down and started doing rent to own. We make payments on the house and will be making payments for the next 3.5 years. Our neighbors got angry that we purchased the house, and asked our landlord if they could buy it in full, which he told them no because he wanted us to have it. So for the past year, she has been unhooking our water lines and we didn't realize it until November of 2022. We got a paper from the woman who owns the spring saying we are allowed to use it. So she began putting things in our water, and we didn't feel comfortable using the water anymore with our son being the one who drinks it. So we switched to city water. She purposely let's her dogs run all over our property, if we open the door the dogs go in our house and we have to shoo them away. When her dogs are in heat they sit in front of our door and howl. We contacted the police and they just gave her a fine after she bit my boyfriend and my sister, but she still allows the dogs to come onto our property. This morning she piled huge rocks on our driveway and says she owns the driveway now and we need to find a different way to get into our house. I told her she needed to get off my property, and when I tried to drive away, she jumped into my car and tried to pull my dog and my son from the car. I got out and told her if she didn't back up, I was macing her. She told us that as soon as we leave, she's lighting a match and setting our house on fire. We had this all on recording. Both of us called the law and they refused to do anything and called it a civil matter, and told us we need to get our land surveyed and file a restraining order. However they won't file the restraining order even with proof unless we have both of her addresses (both where she lives and where she stays on certain days). When I called the police department back and asked what they were going to do, they said "oh well, its not our problem it's the magistrates." And hung up when I asked if I could talk to a supervisor, because I fear for my son's safety. My sister said she is giving me the number for her lawyer, but I'm not sure they can even do anything. Is there anything a lawyer would be able to do in this situation?

Hi all,
I've completed three k treatments of a six-treatment regimen of IM ket. The treatments have been okay, and I'm noticing some positive effects, but the actual treatments have been dull for me.
At the clinic I use, they do two injections per treatment about 45 minutes to an hour apart. They start at 0.4xbody weight and have been adjusting the amounts to try to find a good dose. I started at 25mg, then jumped to 30 mg in the first session, then did 40 and 45 in the second session, then did 40 and 40 yesterday.
Each appointment so far, I've felt almost sedated but not quite. Like I'm just barely awake and aware but the experience is basically just sleepy darkness, no visuals or feelings really. The clinic has headphones and playlists that seem to work well enough. As I start to come to, I do start to wonder about what's real and what/who I am and gradually come back to the room, so I am certainly having some dissociative effects. That said, I really want to have a more complete experience. I'd like to have a dissociation where I'm more...engaged, I guess with what's happening. I know it's not essential to have a full "trip" but I'd like more of that dissociative experience if I can get to it.
Any tips or ideas on eliciting a more visual/emotional/meaningful trip?

in my.opinion each apeaker has a unique "flavor" or "sound profile" that no app no matter how u calobrate your mic can tell you.
you just have to hear it to know.
some speakers are very bass heavy and you can feel as if a bomb went off in your room
some are very crisp highs that have amazing sound as if it would be comming out of a glass is best as i could deacribe it. or like imagine a glass breaking. that crisp high sound ia what a lot of speakers specialize.
some have that resonate in them that its like for me...imagine 1 cello playing...great..now imagine 100 cellos playing the same thing. that is what i mean
so really each speaker is very different.
if you want a speaker thats good for opera or signing voices... that very high glass breaking speaker is your best friend
you want a good action movie that is as if a bomb has gone off next to you ... that low bass speakers are your friends.
my problem was always that with bass heavy or even highs... or even putting a bit loud music is a cause for my neighbors to call the police on me. combine it with the fact that my neighbors are not the nicest people and im off withiut being able to put loud or decent bass. and have to listen to reletively quite souns.

i’ve signed the lease, paid the security deposit and the first and last months rent. my dad was supposed to be my guarantor which i was hesitant about because he’s very controlling and being my guarantor would give him a say in my life away from home. we started talking about my moving out again last night and it became another screaming match. i will not be using him as a guarantor. now i’m scrambling to find one to hire that won’t fuck over my roommates and won’t have me bleeding money.
i want to ask my landlord if i can just pay rent in advance as i have a credit history of a couple years, a great credit score, current income and multiple interviews lined up for the city im moving to and my savings can cover 7 months of rent right off the bat. i don’t want to lose my roommates or the one chance i have at FINALLY getting out and leaving all of this behind me.
any advice would be greatly appreciated. i just feel like i’m drowning right now.

I've been on T for just over 3 years. Facial hair is mainly growing on the edges of my face/my neck, but I'm getting a few hairs on my cheeks now. I attribute that more to using this black castor oil than I do to actual testosterone though lol, and the hairs aren't enough that I can just leave it to grow. I'm still having to trim them regularly since the hair is reeeeaaaally patchy. Better than it was before when there was no hair, but it's a slow slow process.
Just wondered if anyone had any other methods of encouraging facial hair growth, apart from minoxidil. I want facial hair, but I'm not quite at the level of desperation where I can be bothered with doctors and pharmacies. It's hard enough to get an appointment as it is, and with the testosterone itself having shortages lately and me having to switch between injections and gel several times, and topical estrogen cream and my pharmacy being slow af, I can't really be bothered with any more medical stuff unless it's absolutely necessary for my health.

My mom married richie rich and 9 months later I was born. 9 months later they divorced, my mom didn’t get shit. She abused me every single day in every single way. We lived in a dump with homeless people, drug dealers etc. till she remarried and then both would abuse me. She’d call me racial slurs (due to my bio dad being a different ethnicity), how even my own dad abandoned me, make me feel worthless etc. When I would “answer back”or “misbehave “ my mom would beat the crap out of me and if I dared to cry, she’d pretend to call my dad so he would “break my bones”. She’d tell me stories how his mom tried to kill me/ get me sick on purpose. Of course she denies all of this ever happening, the woman is a pathological liar.
I never blamed my bio dad, how was I to know he wasn’t any poorer than me? One day she went to pay the ISP. The cashier happened to recognise her, apparently he was my dad’s cousin. We went out with his parents for coffee, i absolutely cannot speak ill of those people. After the constant beatings from my mom, my great uncle pulled me in by the arm and my blood froze, thinking he was going to harm me. Man gave me the best bear hug I ever had. Imagine a 6’4 fella happy bouncing from one feet to the other hugging you, that’s the terrible people my mom used to threaten me with. I never received any further info or calls from them, afterwards I learnt my mom had blocked them.
Fast forward to 2021 my dad died. My mom calls his mom (in 25 years of life I never knew she even had her number), she wanted to meet me. My mom started saying they’d try to poison me for the inheritance and similar, that my grandma wanted me to sign documents to refuse any inheritance, my dads retirement fund etc. I have no way of knowing if that is true or what was actually said between them. However the next day I did get disowned by them (I have legal proof).
Then I went to stalk them on social media. My dad had a brand new family, new wife, a kid, pets, the full picture. My aunt (his sister) is constantly on vacations and holidays. And I live in a slum barely making ends meet. My mom’s second husband also died, and she collected a hefty inheritance to the point she’s set for life and moved out.
We were going though old paperwork to clear a cupboard and she found the divorce papers, threw them in my face and said “there, a memory from your good for nothing dad. he didn’t even do a single payment for child support” to which I replied “instead of complaining you could’ve sewed him” and she said “He was willing to pay if I gave you to him in the scheduled visiting days, but I refused to send you off“. So the whole ‘your dad didn’t want you’ story was a lie? And want to know more? His mom sent me yearly checks for bdays, name days, xmas etc. Of course I never knew that nor saw the money.
I just feel like if my mom was a descent human being I would’ve had a descent chance at life. If she hadn’t kept me locked up (yes, you read that right, I was not allowed to leave the apartment even to go get bread) till I was 18, maybe i’d have some friends and wouldn’t be crippled by depression now. I could’ve had a family, I could’ve went to school, many “could haves” I have no way of knowing. And I can’t even contact that side of the family, because i’m scared my mom will find out and I’ll end up on the streets.

I spent 5 years working at 3 companies owned by the same owner at the same time, with something I didn't like and I almost had a burnout, I didn't have vacations, and a lot of work and responsibility, until I couldn't take it anymore, and I went into depression, it started to ball up everything, I asked to leave one of the companies and soon after I was disconnected from the others.
I was unemployed for 2 months, which made me end my rent, go live at my grandmother's house, and look for a job, until I found an opportunity.
A large company needed a very complicated study to do, and I had already tried to hire entire companies that did not satisfy, until a friend's uncle referred me saying that I was good with these things, so I was called as a last attempt and without giving the little faith, I gave my all, I put it in my head that I would succeed, I worked on it for about 19 hours a day, slept for only 4 hours, and the rest of the time was spent studying and working on it without a break, just to take a shower, eat while doing it, no going out, weekends, getting up early, waking up early...
And I achieved the impossible, I delivered to them alone in 2 weeks a job that an entire company specializing in this could not manage in 3 months.
Obviously he was impressed and said he would hire me to work with him, because from time to time studies of the type that needed to be done came up, but as they were from time to time and there was no way to predict when others might appear, he would hire me for another position, and put me to do the studies when it came up.
That is, he would sign a job, but he would do 2.
Well, I had already worked 3 jobs before, and this one would pay a lot more, so I took it.
Now I'm in a similar situation, my employer has me in 2 different functions, one that I like and I'm good at even though it's more work, which is doing these studies, and the other one that I hate and I'm not very good at, guess what which one do I have to invest more time? What I hate.
In addition, I have now been assigned a third role, which is to cover the holidays of a person whose work has nothing to do with either of the other two.
Now the things at work that I hate are piling up, and with that they are putting pressure on me, I'm getting anxious, producing less, feeling tired all day and affecting my other functions, making me look like a bad employee.
I would think that the problem is in me, but I already noticed that I just let it get tangled up and I don't like 1 of the functions, the other 2 I like and I'm good even when more laborious.
I think life is too valuable to waste on stresses like that, but it pays me relatively well and I'm afraid I won't find something that pays well again.

To be clear, I'm a big fan of the Duggan administration overall...I don't think there are two many others who could've helmed such a quick turnaround in the City's fortunes as he has. But I wish he'd stop leaning so heavily on a couple of key metrics, when there's so many issues with them beneath the surface.

1. Population loss. He keeps touting all of the new developments as evidence that the Census estimates can't possibly be correct. But he seems to be intentionally ignoring the household size aspect of this. Almost everyone moving into these new apartments, rehabbed houses, etc. is likely to either be single, or a childless couple. The fact is that Detroit will not be a good place for families with kids until our schools get better. And if 1 family of two parents and three kids moves to the suburbs, and three single young professionals separately move into the city...that's still a net loss of two people. It's such an easy counterpoint to his messaging.
2. Unemployment rate. There are few places in the US where unemployment rates are more heavily skewed by the "people not looking for work" metric, than here in Detroit. His messaging would suggest that almost everyone in the City is able to find a semi-decent paying job. Yet people with semi-decent paying jobs don't roam our neighborhoods, committing property crimes and other offenses, like we have to deal with on the scale of Detroit. It's because many of these people don't have jobs AND aren't actively looking for one. Again, such an obvious counterpoint to make.

I wish Duggan would spend more time touting things like rising median HH incomes, the number of neighborhoods with new and preserved low income housing stock, etc. The number of lane-miles of street and sidewalk that are being rebuilt. Things that are objectively good, and don't have such a glaring caveat attached to them. It's good to mention new development and low unemployment as part of the larger conversation, but don't hang yourself solely on these metrics as a sign that "everything is okay".

Im 23 years old, remote worker & self employed. I make less than 2k a month after all taxes. Around $800 in personal bills. Including Truck $324, insurance $164 and the rest small credit card or entertainment bills. Depending on work amount, I can make more or less in any particular month.
I live with my parents still and i give them $450 a month for “Rent”. My mom let me know yesterday that she’s gonna add another $200 to that every month. So $650 total. My brother who is a yr younger than me pays the exact same. She’s obviously just trying to push us out of the house. We help out so much but oh well.
I want to experience the full benefits of being a remote worker and thought about getting an RV and traveling the country. Specifically the southern US. Like Texas or even new Mexico.
My truck is a v6 gmc sierra 1500 double cab and is very reliable. Have had 0 issues with it for over two years. If I was to get an RV it would be a small one. 5th wheeler. Nothing fancy. Just need a bed, restroom, and a desk (and wifi!) is all I need. I see so many differing prices online for smaller rvs. Im hoping to that after all monthly rv expenses, itll Atleast be less than the average rent in my area. im in the OK area. Any tips to find the best deals for a small rv?
Apartment prices and home rent prices are fucking ridiculous right now. Im stressing so much rn.

So, around last year my best friend who I also room with in NYC lost his father, and he had a tough time dealing with it, which I totally understood.
He quit his job which is a lot of hours and stress, had to support his family with his savings, and became a little different, which I totally can get and I helped him out the best I could and tried to be as supportive as I can.
He around a year ago asked me a favor because of how he has to send money back now to help his family but at the same time get his mental health back in one piece and take off time from work, that if I can pick up more of the rent until he can his affairs in order. We decided on a split of 4k to 1k, but he told me that he promises he will get this arranged ASAP and he truly appreciates me.
For more clarity our salary differences are varying at the time and even now, as we both are around 24 and I make around 400k and he made around 150k before he quit his job.
However, a year has passed, and my best friend is in still in the same position as he was before. I have pushed him to get work and find a job and move on, but ever since the death of his father, he just does part time work and keeps asking me for more time, but at this time in my life I think it would better for me to move on my own, which I hope doesn’t sound selfish.
So yesterday I told him this, that I am thinking about moving on my own, and he started crying and ridiculing me for being incredibly unsupportive, when all I have done is take bullets for him. Tbh I have never seen him this emotional.
He said it’s not a big deal for me to pay 4k with my salary, and after all the time we spent together, he can’t believe this is how I would be. He said he would give me as much time as I needed if I had a tragedy like he did. He then he said he is going to his moms house and has been there since yesterday. I really don’t know how to proceed.
Am I wrong here? I believe I was being supportive and even paid crazy high rent for around a year just to be a good best friend, but clearly not. Am I not providing enough time for someone to bounce back from a tragedy? Am I wrong here?
