2023.06.09 10:56 SplurgyA /r/TalesfromHR is going dark on June 12th to protest Reddit's API changes, which kill 3rd party apps and tools.
This subreddit will be joining in on the June 12th-14th protest of Reddit's API changes that will essentially kill all 3rd party Reddit apps.
What's going on?
A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.
What's the plan?
On June 12th,
many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.
The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action. What can you do as a user?
- Complain. Message the mods of /reddit.com, who are the admins of the site: message reddit: submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on /reddit, such as this one, leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.
- Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join the coordinated mod effort at /ModCoord.
- Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
- Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible.

2023.06.09 10:52 kgjkjghjj I don’t feel much impact of different rackets
I’ve been playing a lot of racket sports in my life since I was young. Tennis, squash, table tennis, badminton etc.
In all these sports I could almost immediately notice a huge difference between a better racket and a worse racket. I often made the mistake of starting out with really the cheapest I could find and outgrow it in almost 1 or 2 months.
So when I started with padel this year I didn’t want to make the same mistake. I did my research and bought a nox ml10 pro cup racket.
However, I don’t notice a lot of difference with the cheap rentals my club offers. I also played with an expensive Adidas from a friend and I can feel it’s premium and the weight is different but I don’t notice a lot in quality of my shots.
I can smash the ball out of court with all rackets.
Is it true that the racket matters more in tennis and squash compared to padel?

It took me a whole day to get the controller to work with djay pro (subscribing to the monthly plan facilitated auto midi mapping).
But now the sound is only coming out of my iPhone speakers. In the sound settings, my only option for main output is speakers. Any idea how to change it to the flx4 soundcard outputs?

2023.06.09 10:23 StripeyTiger1 59 [M4F] #UK, England, (Northants) - seeking young partner (long term)
Can't really explain why, but I feel much more attracted and devoted to someone much younger than me, so I really want to find someone who is okay with having an older long term partner. As far as I'm concerned the younger you are (legally of course) the better, so I'd like to find someone under about 25 to live with me for mutual breeding
I'm open to various styles of relationship. Whilst I'd like to find someone who wants to be a "homemaker" and look after the house (and me!) whilst I work, if you want a part time job, career or to continue education I'm open to discussion.
More info here You: - any legal age under about 25
- live in England or able to get there!
- any religion as long as you don't mind me being agnostic
- any ethnicity
- bisexual also welcome provided you regard our relationship as your "prime" one.
- want to have children early (if you're looking for long term)
Me: - white, 5'11" blue eyes, brown hair
- professional, work remotely but I have to be in England to work.
- needs exercise - planning to get electric bike.
- enjoys musicals and theatre
- not rich but high income. I'd be paying all living costs
- married but have lived separately for 15 years or so
- 3 (possibly 4) adult children (19-24)
- Flaws: more shy than this ad may indicate
I live in a large village but it has a railway station just 5 mins away on a direct line to London.
I believe that in a relationship I should help you achieve your goal in life, whether it's a career or being a stay at home parent, but I'm there to be a partner, not baby you 24/7. Similarly, although I want someone younger, you're not my slave (except in fun roleplay!).
Sex I'm quite vanilla sexually and my primary kinks are the age difference and potential breeding (with associated kinks such as cream-pies, breastfeeding etc). I'm not an exhibitionist but if you want to have sex in the woods, fields or anywhere else its certainly up for discussion. I'm not really into anal sex but butt plugs and other sex toys are fine with me.
I'm really turned on by the idea of filling your young fertile pussy with my seed and whilst I won't push you about it, I'd really like you to stop birth control and hopefully get pregnant so I can enjoy feeling our baby grow inside you and your breasts fill (which I hope you'll let me milk too). I'm not looking to use condoms, so whether you get pregnant or not will be entirely your decision. If you're horny and your partner is asleep, its okay to start things unless they tell you to let them get some sleep. I like spooning, ideally with my cock at the entrance to your wet full pussy. Whether you do it deliberately or have a birth control failure I will be happy if you get pregnant. I am pro-choice, so all decisions on whether to have a baby are entirely yours.
I believe in spontaneity and "free use", so after agreeing to have sex the first time, you don't have to ask to start things next time, however "Stop" and "Not Right Now" are valid! Also valid is "OMG, This team meeting is so much better with you playing with my cock!" 😈
Due to the prevalence of people who are just looking for fun {fine 👍} or fake 👎, I apologise to those who are seriously interested in that I will have to continue looking until I am in a committed physical relationship with someone! submitted by

2023.06.09 10:21 markusaureelius /r/decaf will be participating in the June 12th subreddit blackout
/decaf will be joining in on the June 12th-14th protest of Reddit's API changes that will essentially kill all 3rd party Reddit apps.
Following
our community poll earlier this week, it's clear the vast majority of
/decaf users are in favour of this protest in which communities across reddit plan a 48 hour blackout.
What does this mean for /decaf?
We're going to find out.
As a subreddit that I hope provides an important support role for our members, through the blackout period I am hoping to provide some continuity to the community off-Reddit.
We have an active Discord where myself and other members hang out:
Again, I know the sub is an important support lifeline for a lot of you, and the plan is to bring the subreddit back online the morning of the 15th. If anybody has any questions feel free to ask below or message us.
On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy.
What can you do as a moderator?
Thank you for your patience in the matter,

2023.06.09 10:17 MrTB_7 ML gamers, how responsive is POCO F5 PRO?
I own the base model of iphone 12, unfortunately i got cursed with weird touch response issue where when I am playing or even doing simple task, the phone won’t pick up my response. It became extremely annoying overtime. I miss a lot of retri, cannot play fast hand junglers or learn heroes because even though i tapped the skill, it still won’t capture my response properly and ended up dying.
I am planning to buy poco F5 pro for the sole purpose of playing bunch of games since I am on a huge college break and will be making/recording gaming content. Is it worth it or is there any good phone for the same price? (RM 2.1k) I also heard that their touch sampling rate goes up to 480hz incase of PRO wondering how good is that..

2023.06.09 10:17 Raenor Just making sure no stupid mistakes in this build.
Hey team,
Just making sure my build below isn't super stupid or missing anything obvious? I'm fairly set on the CPU/GPU combo but happy to take advice on the other parts. I'm somewhat limited as I need to get this from a specific retailer in New Zealand due to a deal through my work, which definitely limits my options. Especially on the MOBO as it looks like I can only really get the MSI one below or a selection of ASUS ones. I kinda want to shy away from ASUS due to recent shenanigans (looks like their problems have been sorted with BIOS updates?) but could probably be talked into their gear. Planning on running the RAM at 6000 with EXPO settings which is something fairly new to me.
The case is something I would like other options but this looks really sexy to me. I understand I need some case fans for it but those I will get separately. The H9 Flow looks similar and a good contender? Would prefer a full or mid tower as I'm too lazy to build small form factor PCs and I have the room.
Will be used for mainly gaming at 1440p 144hz or higher and I usually aim to have my PC last 4-5 years before upgrading unless absolutely needed. Also NZ prices suck, a lot. Kinda at my budget limit, could squeeze a little more if necessary. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

2023.06.09 10:14 RaveDaddy69420 Would a Tesla Model 3 or Y Suffice?
I'm looking to purchase a new luxury vehicle. I've always driven traditional gas powered cars. I'd be transitioning from a typical luxury sports car into EV to take advantage of the new federal tax rebate. My main use for the vehicle would be to get from point A to point B. I'm in my 20s & I think a new Model 3 or Y is appropriate for my age bracket as my friends' parents typically drive the Model S or X. I plan on keeping the car for a couple yrs before purchasing another new vehicle. My next one after this would ideally be Porsche but for now a new standard luxury is fine because I'II mainly be using it to get stuff done. Any insight would be appreciated. TIA

2023.06.09 10:13 gh1234567890 First bike idea help
Firstly, I am in Ontario, Canada and I am aware of all the laws around licensing, motorcycle safety courses etc. I am still in the very early stages of looking at bikes and am open to everything you guys have to say.
So a little context on who I am and my knowledge of bikes. I have not yet taken any courses and my very limited experience is on one of those Walmart pit bikes. I'm 5'10 175lbs M 24 years old and have always been interested in bikes and have a few friends who ride (who are sadly now scattered across the country so it isn't quite possible for them to help teach me all the ins and outs kinda thing). My mom is very anti-motorcycle but my dad used to ride before he met her and is comfortable enough to occasionally jump on one of my uncle's 1000rr when she isn't looking. I believe that I am quite responsible and I will respect the bike I ride, but not quite enough to trust myself on a sport bike and for that reason I want something I can have fun on but not be tempted to enter race mode in my head LOL. At the same time I want something that I am able to grow into and not feel a desperate need to upgrade in the first few years of riding it.
The type of riding I am interested in is more of a country/forest road cruise. I already know of a few areas around me that have beautiful hilly, windy roads through the forests (generally 80 km/h / 50 mph limits, I don't plan to go too much faster than that). To me it would be more of a relaxation ride to take in the weather and scenery than an adrenaline rush but I would still like to be able to get a little adrenaline going from time to time.
I've always loved the look of classic bikes, such as the 1970 BMW R75/5, but want the safety features of new bikes such as ABS. A Honda/Ducati dealership opened near my house and of course I had to check it out. They had a new Ducati Scrambler Nightshift that I absolutely love the look of. I am worried that the 803cc 73hp engine would be a lot to handle for a beginner bike but the salesman was saying how it may sound intimidating but is a surprisingly beginner friendly bike. He also mentioned how it is very important to have a bike that fits your body and I honestly did feel the most comfortable sitting on that bike. At the end of the day, I know he's a salesman and has a job to do.
Knowing a little about me and what I like, I am just wondering if there are any recommendations that are maybe a little more budget friendly and/or beginner friendly.
Thank you!
