2023.06.08 07:58 fearlessglitter13 I fell in love with a chaotic girl then she broke up with me
I’m a girl and have been dating a girl who is diagnosed with bipolar. We’re both the same age 25 but I’m in a much better place than her in life. I have a master's degree, a good job, and live in my apartment in a nice area. While she just started online university, lives with her friend rent free, parties every weekend, her parents pay for her, and she recently quit her job.
I am more successful than her but it didn’t matter to me because I care more about our connection and felt like she’s passionate about her future goals. One thing that bothered me was she never wanted me to pay for anything, I told her I want to take her on the next date and she insisted on paying for it. She then asked her dad to pay for the next date which is ridiculous because I could easily afford it.
Eventually, I found out she cheats on her exams so that was disappointing. When she came to my apartment for the first time, she asked me how am I affording it and I said “I work” She then said “oh so I’m paying for our dates and you’re paying for rent” I felt that it made her uncomfortable. She was being affectionate and physical for 3 hours straight so I thought everything was good. She got extremely drunk that night.
Then the next day she broke up with me because dating stresses her out and she invited me to go partying with them instead. I’m so frustrated because she didn’t explain what was wrong. Do you think she felt guilty because I’m more successful and she wanted chaos?

| hey everyone. i got my pyr mix (half pyr half rottie) while living in oklahoma, where we have a medium size backyard that he loves but he’s always supervised when he’s outside and is mostly a house dog. my husband and i will be moving to connecticut later this year and unfortunately we simply cannot afford to rent a house in the area we plan to live in or basically anywhere in the state 😅 we have two other dogs (both around 50lbs) who have already lived in apartments before we moved to OK so we know they’ll transition well but i’m worried about my pyr. this apartment complex is very pet friendly, with a dog park across the street and plenty of nearby parks where i could take him on leashed walks. we always take them on nightly walks so he’s good on the leash although a bit reactive to people walking on the street. what are some ways in which i can prepare him or train him before the move? going from a 3 bedroom house with a backyard to a 1 bedroom apartment is gonna be a big change for all of us, but especially for my pyr who is very alert to sounds, other dogs and people. should i work on desensitization and if so how would i about that? i’m overwhelmed with the thought of not being able to give him what he is used to. do any apartment pyr parents have good advice here? submitted by iamnotgabi to greatpyrenees [link] [comments] |
2023.06.08 07:56 eeedg3ydaddies I don't think I can do this anymore no one can help me
I'm so empty and tired, if there was a way a meteor could come kill me while leaving my pets unharmed I would welcome it.
I moved, got sent to the psych ward, when I got out I was two months rent behind, no one could help me. I tried to go back to work but I was still unwell and I lost job. Now I owe 3000 dollars and am about to get amd I am struggling to get a new job and I am still strgguling with my mental health but now I have no insurance.
I can't even go back to the psych ward bc I DON'T HAVE FUCKING TIME if I go back my financial situation will get worse and what will happen to my pets???? But fuck I can't live like this anymore I can't! I just want to die
I'm trapped in this stupid hole of poverty amd it doesn't matter how hard I work or how much I destroy my body I'll never escape and be comfortable. I'm about to be homeless AGAIN. I can't do this anymore, i don't have anyone except my pets, I just can't take anymore, I don't know what to do anymore. Sorry for typos, crying too hard to see screen clealry.

2023.06.08 07:47 WhoDrankMyFanta Worth it to rent a 2015 convertible 5.0 Mustang for a week in San Diego for $734?
Visiting San Diego for a week in August. Originally was planning to rent a 2015 Mustang for the entire stay. Went with a convertible to enjoy the sunny weather. Just wondering if you think it would be worth it to add to the experience of the entire vacation. By the way, it’s just my girlfriend and I. Both of us are 30 years old and make decent money.
Don’t know if we’re better off just renting a toyota/hyundai/honda or something similar. This vacation was kind of just thrown together just to do something for the summer. We’re also going to Thailand in January and was thinking maybe it’d be wiser to just save the few hundred dollars and use it towards something else.
What do you guys think?

2023.06.08 07:46 Crafty-Historian8942 AITA for telling my friend she doesn't need to make today's tragic event about herself when she lives 1,000 miles away?
By now you know about the horrible air pollution in NYC and how it's so bad you can't go outside without extensive protection, can't walk dogs, etc. It's a huge issue and I have nothing but sympathy for those impacted.
I have a friend who was born and raised in rural Wisconsin and moved to NYC for a year. She then moved to Chicago because supposedly her rent would've gone up $500 if she stayed and she didn't like the humidity anyway.
We were talking about the orange skies out there today, and she looked kind of upset. She brought up how her apartment's windows didn't close all the way, so she and her cat, who both have asthma, would've had severe health complications. And she literally said, "Dude. She could've died if I was able to renew my lease. That's so messed up to think about." I told her that she doesn't need to make this whole thing about herself. She said, "Are you serious? That's not what I'm doing." I pointed out that she's done that for a certain other event, too, by cussing people out for making stupid jokes about it. She said she wouldn't be having this conversation with me because I never lived in NYC, let alone visited it, and that I wouldn't understand. I calmly told her, "You lived there for 1 year. New Yorkers don't like when transplants pull that kind of thing. Especially if they only lived there for a year." She said I was making massive leaps, being dramatic, speaking on behalf of others, etc. Eventually she said, "Actually, I'm just gonna block your number because I just realized you've done this bullshit before many times." And she hung up on me.
AITA? Going to point out that she has anxiety and overreacts a lot. And believe it or not, we're both in our 20s.

2023.06.08 07:42 defqon3 Is there really a rental shortage in Melbourne right now?
I keep hearing all of these rental shortage, people can't find room, everyone's lining up to inspect a rental blablabla...however, I've been advertising my room for nearly a week on
flatmates.com and
flatmatefinder.com for $300/week in Coburg North, by the tram stop, train station close by, house is spacious, fresh, and generously equipped, presented very well, yet I only have 2 people messaging (which both I am not keen on). I posted the room in various other Facebook groups (Fairy Floss etc) with absolutely no luck at all, literally no one texted me.
I honestly was expecting to get quite a few enquiries considering the hoo haa of current rental shortage, assuming that people would consider looking into sharehouse arrangement when it becomes too competitive/expensive to rent directly from REA. I seriously wonder if this is all just over sensationalism from the media, cos I sure as hell don't see it in reality!

2023.06.08 07:41 taleoftooshitty I just got out of a 3-year time capsule... what has happened to the job market??????
Back in 2020 I decided to do charity work that required me to move to a remote part of the world. I had minimal access to internet and although I worked, I was technically a volunteer and unemployed.
I am now back and traversing the job market. I have a Master's degree and a good amount of experience. To be honest, my background is in education, so I was never expecting to make six figures. However, I cannot believe how difficult it is to find a job, let alone a job that pays over $20 an hour?? Seriously?? I have applied to more than 30 jobs in the last three weeks and all but like 6-7 of them are making under $20 dollars an hour. I haven't heard from even one of them.
There are many remote jobs now, and while I am all for it, they are impossible to get, since most of them are de-localized (open to professionals throughout the US) and hence, highly competitive. Once again, highly competitive for making less than $20 an hour. Food prices have skyrocketed, Gas is through the roof, rent is insane, but yes, let's all fight for a job requiring degrees making $16 an hour... insanity.
Even tutoring jobs are out of my league. The ones that pay *Decent*, not great, but decent, are often requiring a degree from an "elite" university, usually top 20 in the country... just to tutor some damn kids. I have all kinds of experience working with secondary and post-secondary students as well as degrees and a teaching certification, but it's not enough. I pride myself on being a great educator, but fuck it, I didn't go to Harvard so nothing I can do about it.
Ultimately I just want to express empathy from what I'm reading on this sub. The job market is insanity and shit, if there is a revolution, I'll join it. Fuck this nonsense.

2023.06.08 07:40 Dazed-Confused-94 Going from salary to PhD funding
Very long story short, I have decided to basically take a 50% pay cut in order to do my PhD. I am currently basically living pay check to pay check (I live in a HCOL city) with my salary job. I'm a first generation student, I do not have any family support of any kind. Average rent for just a bedroom is $1300. What can I prepare in the next few months for this reduction of income? For reference, start of new income would be in October.
Any and all help appreciated. I am so stressed and afraid.

2023.06.08 07:39 Physical_Pepper_182 I really just hate my roommate (ranting)
I probably make it out to be worse than it is, but I am completely over her.
She is constantly sitting in the living room, on my furniture, all day long with her bf. Sometimes well spice it up and have her friends scattered throughout the house. I feel like I can't leave my room without being judged, or stared out, so I go hours and days refusing to eat or use the bathroom because they are always out there. I'm never told when people are here and have walked out into the hall in booty shorts multiple times and have been embarrassed. At this point her bf is here more than me, so I'm confused as to why he doesn't pay rent. She has the wifi in her name, and I believe she constantly turns it off so I can't use it. She doesn't clean anything. She constantly leaves dirty dishes in the dishwasher, some of which are "shared supplies". Most of the dishes eventually have a thin layer of mold on them. She never vacuums or sweeps or anything. I am grateful that she recently began taking out the garbage since I have stopped.
I have been noticing some of my things being moved around. Specifically, my laundry supplies have been moved after I said she couldn't use them because she refused to buy the items with me. Also, weirder, I have started to notice that she is using my towel that is in the bathroom, or maybe her bf is, which I find extremely gross. Since I have had this suspicion she has been going through my stuff, I took an item from the living room and put it into my room. Found out the next day, while I was gone, she went into my room, snooped around, and found it. I'm not saying I'm proud at what I did, but I found out the information I needed to know.
There is now this tension and I do not feel comfortable or save in my own apartment. Lease is up in about 2 months, obviously I'm not resigning with her, but we need to have the conversation eventually to get one of us out of here to move forward. I'm looking for a way to confront her about going into my room, and tell her I want to renew the lease without her.

Hi. I’m a 20 year old male. I work at starbucks in Von’s up the street from my house and make $16.15 cuz I live in Cali. The problem is I pay $300 every week ($1200 monthly) for rent in my family’s apartment (mom, and two siblings where one is also paying $1200). I am making 300-400 every week (paid weekly) and never have anything left over. Like today I got paid $308 and gave it all to rent. I have a few dollars in my account now. My mom is having job troubles right now as well, so she’s not even getting paid enough to have money for food and barely even rent now cuz she’s giving up all her money too. And I know you can mention “oh it’s a hard knock life, toughen tf up” because that’s what everybody is saying to me. But i’m being serious, wtf do i do

2023.06.08 07:36 forfiveroses Is it irresponsible to move to another city just because I like it?
I’m 22F, currently living as a junior designer in a biggest city in my country. I want to move to another city with a beach next year. (After 2 years of working here) I went there several times before, lived about a month 2 years ago. Its my favorite city.
I was depressed for few months working here. I went there for few days to freshen up. I loved it. The beach life really fits my personality and lifestyle.
It will be pretty hard to get a designer job there. If I do it will be very low income, same as now. Rent will be little cheaper.
My parents say it might be an unreasonable choice to move there just because I like it. I work in a small company now, so they expect me to work in a bigger one after my experience in this small one. They tell me, I’m too young and should be in a big city, working in a big company, earning money.
I didn’t take a year off my college, got job even before I graduated. I want some fun vacation life for a while.. I’m tired.
What should I do? Any advice would be appreciated!

2023.06.08 07:31 Vegetable_Course5061 Options for paying back debt
I am 27 and have managed to accrue a hefty sum of debt, currently about $500,000 of debt. Debt breakdown: 110k is credit card debt, ranging from 15-28% APR. 235k is unsecured personal loans, ranging from 15-34%. 155k is student loans. I have just graduated and will start paying these back in 6 months. Total monthly debt payment is around $13k and debts range from 7 years old to as recent as 10 months.
I pay $7000/month in rent and have been working with my landlord to try to find a tenant to replace my unit so I can move to a much smaller more affordable unit, but my lease has another year in it and so far nothing.
I earn $335,000/yr
I have about $50,000 in real estate and long term investments (think I Bonds, CDs, etc) which can take quite a while to cash out if needed. I have 2 months worth of rent and utility in short term investments ($20,000) that I can liquidate with a few days notice.
I have $110,000 in my 401k
I do not have any other assets. I do currently have a lawsuit still pending for the total damage of a vehicle I used to own from 2021.
I have let it get too far and really need to take a hard look in the mirror and cut this out, and I’m considering my first option as don’t buy anything except the bare necessities and take out a loan from my 401k to attack my highest interest debts (401k borrowing max of 50k to pay off 50k 34% APR debt). Focus on paying that off and snowballing the rest of my way through my debt, while trying very hard to move out to a 5k lesser apartment. Hopefully my plan is in three years, I’ll have no debt, no loans, and a much more controlled spending habits.
Is there any major pitfalls that come with a 401k loan in this circumstance, anything I may be missing, or anything I should do prior to a 401k loan?
Thanks for your help!

2023.06.08 07:30 Grizzly-Redneck Extra tenants moved in under a single occupancy lease
This scenario took place in BC.
A few months back my neighbor rented his two bedroom suite to a single person. In his listing he had specified one price for single occupancy and a higher price for double. They wrote the lease for single occupancy pricing.
Shortly after moving in his tenant then moved in his girlfriend, then later the tenants sister also moved in. After speaking with a tenancy board representative my neighbor's understanding is that this is perfectly legal in BC given that it's physically a two bedroom suite despite it having been rented and priced as a one bedroom unit. Also the tenant did not need his permission and the LL is not entitled to any additional rent.
This kinda blew my mind so I'm wondering how does one protect themselves from these types of scenarios if the tenant has the right to just move people in?
Should he have specifically stated in the lease that there would be increased pricing based on number of occupants?
Is there a legal way to correctly set up a single occupancy agreement that's binding?

2023.06.08 07:30 mvmullaney Rental Car coverage
Got in an accident last week. Other driver 100% at fault. My car is sitting in a tow yard, likely totaled, waiting for other driver’s insurance to collect and inspect it.
I need to rent a car to get to work, but I’m struggling to understand how insurance works.
I carry liability only with my own policy. Will this still cover me while in a rental? Or would I still need to buy additional coverage from the company? (Enterprise)
Other driver’s insurance said they wouldn’t pay for a damage waiver. This doesn’t seem fair to me, since I can’t afford $30 a day for however long it takes to sort my car, and I really can’t afford an incident with the rental and not be covered. Is this standard practice?
I don’t think my credit card offers any rental coverage.
Thanks

2023.06.08 07:29 Prince_Marf How to approach housing?
Hi Im pretty new to thinking realistically ab how Im going to pay off my loans. Please be nice 🙏
I just finished grad school with about $140k debt and making about 70k right now, but likely significantly more potential down the road. 30k is from undergrad which my parents (amazing) agreed to pay, and they intend to make a lump payment as soon as the repayment requirement starts.
Currently living with my parents and really don't want to be. I understand the best financial decision would be to stay with my parents until the loans are paid off... but that would really suck since I'm assuming these loans will take ~10 years to pay off (very rough estimate obviously). Don't really want to be here into my 30s. Given the affordability of housing in my area, I could get an apartment for a reasonable price $500-$1000/mo. But I could also wait several years and try to save enough to buy a house (build equity rather than essentially throwing money away on rent, right?).
So, does it ever make sense to try to save for a house rather than putting all would-be savings into repaying the loans? Anything I said seem absurd? Am I stupid?

2023.06.08 07:28 Visible-Worldliness9 Denied 5 Times - What Do You Think..?
Started at age 12 with ADD, around 15-16 I was diagnosed with social anxiety and depression. In and out of the hospital psychiatric ward due to suicidal ideation and self harm. I began seeing a therapist and psychiatrist at that point. I've been on and off meds since 12 and I'm running out of options as far as medication goes (I'm 26 now btw). I was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder which explains A LOT. My mother tried applying for me as a kid, and I have applied 4-5 more times since then. This is my last try. I see a therapist every week, I have a bad history with dealing with emotions properly and I've never had any sort of "good" coping mechanism. I also see a psychiatrist once a month, and I'll be weaning off my Zoloft 150mg and beginning Lithium next month in place of the Zoloft. I also take Seroquel and Lamictal.
I believe I provided everything I could to them, as I always have in the past. I sign releases for my therapist, psychiatrist, and the multiple hospitals I've been admitted to (usually admitted myself). I had also recently applied for SNAP where they require you to work or seek work. My therapist filled out the psychological paperwork saying it is not recommended that I work due to the severity of the issues I'm having. I did tell them that I smoked weed and took Kratom (just google it), I feel like that alone would be grounds to deny me. But since that visit, I've quit both and only vape nicotine. No alcohol, no weed, no kratom, etc.
SO. Am I wasting my time again...? I called the number to check the status and it has been less than two months since I initially started the application again, it says they've already made a decision.. This seemed odd, because it took quite a while in the past, every single time. I'm trying to do everything right, and I'm actively seeking help and working on my issues, but I honestly feel that SSA and/or the IMA Group doesn't take mental health into consideration as much as they should.
I do plan on pursuing this all the way through this time. I will get a lawyer if it has to come to that. I'm tired, and I just want to be able to work on myself for once without having to worry so much about something I really just don't care about (money).. I want/need this simply so I can pay my part of rent and cover my own food, clothes, gas, etc. It's currently weighing on my younger brother, he basically takes care of me, and he's also my only, and best friend. He's all I've got, other than my mother who unfortunately got sick with encephalitis resulting in brain damage.. I'm happy she survived, but she's been in a rehab dementia ward for quite a while, and may be for another year.
Thanks for taking the time to read and respond.
Would you recommend anything specific that I should or can do to improve the chance of me finally getting this?

2023.06.08 07:28 tightankles Should I consider lowering my 401k contribution to save for a house down payment?
30 years old living with domestic partner (DP). My total compensation (TC) is 170k and salary is 136k. My domestic partner’s TC is 260k and salary is 145k.We’re trying to save for a down payment on a house in the San Francisco Bay Area (Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Dublin, San Ramon, and San Jose).
Since January 2023 we saved @ 124k in a 5.15% HYSA, but most houses here are 1.3 million or higher. DP matches any money I contribute to the HYSA.
Every month I pay off my credit card bills. I'm maxing out my 401(k) (16% of income, up to 3% employer match), HSA, and the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) (15% of my income).
Upon vesting, I immediately sell any shares from the ESPP and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and transfer this money to the HYSA.
Where can I cut back on spending to save more for the house down payment?
