How much are y’all paying for this Camry XSE 2022
Thinking of trading in my 19’ Camry SE with 77k miles for this one’s. I believe my Camry is worth between 17-18.5k and would still owe 17k. At what price would this XSE be a good deal. Currently posted at “37k” and on special for 31.7k. It’s been on the lot for a month and price keeps dropping.

2023.06.08 07:41 SRV-VTEC Oil was on empty, just refilled, how soon do I rush to the mechanic?

Hi, I have an Automatic 2009 Toyota Camry 4cyl with 259,000 kms on it. I use synthetic oil and change it every 5000 kms. It has always burned a little oil so I routinely check the oil levels in between of oil changes (usually at 2500 kms) to ensure the level is still sufficient. Sometimes, rarely, I'll have to top it up just a bit before taking it back to the mechanic when it's time to do another full change.
Today, I felt that the car was driving a bit funny and making a rattling noise. I checked the oil level, and found that it was on empty! Nothing in there. Not sure what happened. I don't see any leaks on the ground in any of my parking spots, I'm still 500 kms away from the next change.
I went and bought an oil bottle and put in 3 quarters of a 5 ltr bottle, as Google says I need 4.7 liters for my vehicle.
My questions are:
What the heck could have happened? I've since rechecked it and I still don't see any leaks. Could it all have burned away?
Since it was on empty, and I just put in a fresh bottle, do I still go to the mechanic for another oil change? Since the oil is still new? Obviously I'd go to have it inspected to see what may have happened, but is there a need to do another oil change?
Thanks a lot!

2023.06.08 06:07 PowerUser99 Trouble Calculating Integral of Absolute Value of Polynomials using Maxima and abs_integrate

Hello everyone,
I am currently working on a Maxima script that is supposed to calculate the definite integral from -1 to 1 of the absolute value of any given polynomial 'p'. In my case, I've chosen 'p' to be 'x^3-1/4', but it could be any other polynomial.
(%i9) load("abs_integrate"); (%i10) normaU(p):=integrate(abs(p),x,-1,1); (%i11) normaU(x3-x+(1/4));
When I run the code, Maxima returns the integral expression integrate(abs(x^3-1/4),x,-1,1), but does not evaluate it. What's troubling is that this issue only arises when the polynomial is of degree 3 or higher. For lower degree polynomials, the integration seems to work fine.
I couldn't find much information about the 'abs_integrate' module and how it works, which is why I'm turning to this community for help. Can anyone explain why this might be happening and how I could go about solving this issue? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance.

2023.06.08 05:03 Elkins45 Are Subaru engines and CVT as bad as their reputation?

Part of me is considering a Subaru Legacy since Mazda stopped importing the 6 and Toyota dealers are adding $5k to the sticker on a Camry. The other part of me remembers all the horror stories about blown head gaskets and CVT failures.
Would you consider a Subaru Legacy as a long-term ownership car? I tend to keep cars for 10+ years and not have any serious repair costs, and I do all my own maintenance. I’m told that changing the plugs on their boxer engines can be a real pain.

2023.06.08 04:51 SilverMisfitt Is my best option under $30K a 2023 Civic EX?

In the market for a new car after my 2010 Camry was totaled.
Ideally, looking for a sedan that has a more fun driving experience than my Camry. Kia and Hyundais are off the table due to the Kia Boys situation.
Mazda3 is a no-go because I’m 6’2 so there would be no room for rear passengers.
Am I missing any other options? Seems like the civic is the best new car option based on my criteria.

2023.06.08 04:33 JohannGoethe The Heliopolis (to Alexandria to New York) obelisk 𓉶 is 42 𓂣 cubits tall!

The Heliopolis (to Alexandria to New York) obelisk 𓉶 is 42 𓂣 cubits tall!
In 3430A (-1475), Thutmose III ordered two obelisks to be erected in Heliopolis.
In 1967A (-12), per order of Cleopatra VII, the two obelisks were moved to Alexandria, to be set up in the new Caesareum temple.
Overview of how the 42-cubit tall Heliopolis obelisk 𓉶 was moved first to Alexandria, then to New York.
Height
Pliny says the two Alexandrian obelisks were 42 cubits tall:
“There are two other obelisks at Alexandria in the precinct of the temple of Caesar near the harbour. These were cut by King Mesphres and measure 42 cubits.”
— Pliny Elder (1876A/79), Natural History (§:36, pg. 55)
This “King Mesphres” has been translated as Thutmose III, by William Cooper (78A/1877) or Thutmose I, according to Samuel Burch (90A/c.1865), as discussed by Henry Gorringe (70A/1885), in his Egyptian Obelisks, Volume One (pg. 68). The height of these original “Heliopolis obelisks”, cited by Pliny, were, presumably 42 cubits in height.
In A99 (1854), John Wilson, in his The Solar System of the Ancients Discovered (pg. 190), stated that there were two obelisks in Heliopolis, one standing, which had a height of 64-feet 1/5-inch. This translates as 43.5 cubits.
The one presently in New York, shows a base, presumably 5-feet, and is cited, in Kenneth Jackson’s Encyclopedia of New York City (pg. 271), with a height of 69-feet:
Made of red granite, the obelisk stands about 21 metres (69 ft) high, weighs about 200 tons
This 69-feet, with added base measure, translates as 47.7 cubits.
Number 42
The number 42 has a number of ciphers; such as:
  • 42 = 3 (crop seasons) x 14 (pieces of Osiris)
  • 42 = number of nomes (states) of Egypt
  • 42 = number of nome gods presiding over the weighing of the soul, between Ra and Osiris
  • 42 = number of negative conversions; aka units of the ba (soul)
  • 42 = height in cubits 𓂣 of the two Alexandrian obelisks 𓉶.
  • 42 = number of generations between Ab-Ra-ham and Jesus
The number 42 was sacred to the Egyptians. It is said that Priests, at some point, as discussed in “Geographical Studies, Lake Mareotis” (Brugsch, 125A/1880), and here, specifically cut the number of Set “nomes” of Egypt, to make Egypt a 42 nome (state) country, so to make it “Osiris themed“.

2023.06.08 03:55 kissmaryjane Auto shop recommendations?

My 2010 Camry has a couple bent rims, and unbalanced wheels. Could be more, it’s been a while without maintenance because I’m fuckin broke lol. Does anyone know where the best place to get used wheels would be? Second question is where can I go where I could A. Have the tires switched to the new wheels, and B. Balance them out .

2023.06.08 02:42 SamVa79 2007 VCS, ABS, TPMS, Check Engine Light

Hey everyone to to the sub, not new to automotive work in the least.
Have the subject Tundra with the aforementioned lights.
Has the follow codes
DTCs for each will speed sensor missing signal
DTC for missing vehicle speed
Associated DTCs in the ECM, ABS/VCS for speed sensor faults and or DTCs in the other modules.
This occurred about a month after replacing a flooded charcoal canister. Part was replaced with a Rock Auto Source Standard Motor Products part. The part is when removed from the box is stamped Toyota with the Toyota part numbers.
Fixed the evap issue, but to remove the canister you disconnect the pig tail coming from the rear wheel speed sensors above the axle to the canister harness. I have triple checked this connection is tight, pins are good.
I just inherited the truck, it has sat more or less for 3 years, no sign of mice or squirrel damage anywhere.
Occasionally if you clear thr codes you can go 10 or 12 miles before they reset so it isn't an immediate hard fault. But it is very repeatable.
Any similar occurrences? It's pretty obvious the speed sensors are dropping out, and the ABS module isnt seeing vehicle speed. But do these have module faults often? Common wirining issues? Doubtful it the sensors themselves.

2023.06.08 01:34 LifeDistinct 2005 Toyota solara

Im looking at a 2 door 2005 toyota solara convertible. Don’t care too much about the convertible(although it might be kinda cool). Just need the car for daily driving to work and maybe the occasional trip on the highway. Car has 157k miles on it and few dings and small paint scrapes. Seller is asking 4500. Anyone know if these cars can get the same reliability and lifespan as a Camry? Good deal for my needs?
The other option is a 2001 toyota camry with 140k miles. Car has faded paint and from the pictures looks like the hood doesn’t perfectly flush with the headlights so its probably been in a bit of a wreck. Seller is asking 3000. Which option do you guys think is best?

2023.06.08 01:27 austin_biceps My mechanic said the ABS module is fine even though four ABS codes were on

I bought a car at a dealership, took it for an inspection, and the mechanic found out that the car had four ABS codes. The ABS light wasn't on.
I then brought it to the dealership's mechanic. They cleared the codes and drove the car around, and the codes didn't return. The ABS light was also never on. So, they said that the ABS is fine.
Is it possible that the ABS codes could've been turned on due to an issue not related to the ABS system? (oil leak, low battery, etc.)
Does anyone know a safe way to test if the ABS is working? I'd like to drive it on some gravel as I read that the wheels will lock up if the ABS isn't working. I also heard about driving over 30 mph and slamming on the brakes, but do let me know if there are some less dangerous options I didn't mention :)
I will also take it to a third mechanic after driving around for a bit and see what they say.
Thanks for your help!
Edit: I forgot to include the codes. Here they are:
U3000-49 ECU Internal Circuit Failure
U0126-00 CAN Communication Failure with Absolute Steering Wheel Angle Sensor,
U0123-00 CAN Communication Failure with Yaw-Rate/Acceleration Sensor
U0151-00 CAN Communication Failure with SRS

2023.06.08 01:26 gamerguy287 2004 Toyota Camry (RockAuto question)

So my 04 Camry has a problem where its AC system only blows warm air. I took it in to a local mechanic to look over my AC system. He found no leaks or anything. So he suggested that the system is either clogged, or needs a new compressor unit. My compressor is soaked in oil from a previous oil leak (Valve cover gasket got replaced. No more oil leaks) that I had a year back. Anyway, irrelevant. It used to blow cool only if I drove it. It never blowed cold when I sat there idle. Now it doesn't even blow cool air period. Its got the correct amount of freon in the system. I also put in a can of AC oil, and it still doesn't work.
My question is, I'm not trying to break the bank and spend a shit ton of money on my parts. So I looked on RockAuto and found the compressor kit for $285. I was wondering how good the quality on the kits are on RockAuto, and how they deal with warranty on RockAuto. It comes with the compressor, condenser, and the dryer. Anybody have any luck with RockAuto's compressor kits?

2023.06.07 23:54 ToryWithAHighlighter Car parts retailer in Munich

Guten tag everyone!
My bf and I are driving to Munich in a couple of days. We delivered our car to the car parts dealer here in Norway to fix our AC because it’s obviously gonna be hot. But after many days of them saying they didn’t know what was wrong with our car yet, they said that the AC compressor needs to be changed and that they don’t have the part. And since they took so many days to get back to us there isn’t time to order the compressor. So I was wondering if anyone knows we could get this fixed in Munich? We will be there for 2 nights (3 days). We have a Toyota iq from 2010 67,8HP/50KW. TIA!! 💖
