Hello friends, i host my blog on cloudflare and it provides analytics however it does not retains them. It also injects javascript to collect logs. I miss my simple server access logs. Recently i wanted to evaluate cloudflare workers so i decided to start new project that will collect analytics from cf requests. It began with one simple law of the universe being undone. Most estimates believe that Gravity vanished for less than a fraction of a percentage of a second, but in that time nearly one billion people died. We thought we had made it past the worst, it was then that the mutants started appearing. Creatures manifesting from our nightmares into the flesh tore at us until we became monsters ourselves. Forcing those among us who changed, who could fight, between the monsters and ourselves, most barely children too young to remember the days before the world was flipped.
There weren’t enough of them, they weren’t strong enough, they weren’t allowed to become strong by our needs. Expendable, that’s what called them. It because true when we learned to make them. No. We didn’t make anything, we forced people to mutate in hopes they’d turn into something useful. We lied, told them they’d save the world, most ended up in the hidden crematorium in the basement, almost all wished we’d started with that, once the long term side effects started showing themselves. That project went up in flames, a simple gas leak followed by a spark of ignition erased our darkest secret and our only hope of winning this war. It is most likely for the best of all that all the information regarding Project X was destroyed, even if it had to be helped along.
I write now with confidence that everything was in vain. Our army of industrialized martyrdom lost. Seventy-three of our most powerful fighters were killed less than three days ago, God Hercules they’re calling it, the strongest of its kind. Tonight will be our last attempt. I have set aside just enough forces, stable and hopefully long lived, for the Ararat Project. Hopefully these fortress cities will find some way to survive, even if we only managed to populate ten of the original one-hundred.
I can only dare to hope that my successors in the distant future do not repeat my mistakes, that they don’t attempt to fight the whole world to retain a status quo that was already dead for decades. That they don’t twist the ones they are supposed to protect for whatever strength they can steal. That they find some way to win, to do more than survive at all costs, to live up to the name I gave us.

I know this question gets asked a lot around here, so apologies, but I think my circumstances are different enough to warrant a new post. I'm trying to figure out which camera is worth it for shooting video. Whether it's best to buy something I can afford now, save up and buy something better, or not buy a camera at all.
I'm in grad school studying documentary filmmaking, although when I break into the professional world I won't be limited to that genre. I have access to the school's cameras, which are incredibly nice and range from small DLSR cameras to the Canon C300 with a full stock of cinematic lenses. Typically on documentary shoots I use a Canon XF605.
Since the school has great cameras I wasn't going to purchase anything for myself, but there's a few drawbacks to this. First, since I have to checkout a camera every time I shoot I have to spend about a half an hour setting it up to my specs. Second, it's rare, but sometimes I need to go grab some B-roll or some other footage and it would be nice just to have my own camera and not go to campus, check one out, set it up, etc. Third, with the school's equipment I'm only allowed to work on school projects and I'm strictly forbidden from using it to make money, which means no freelance side hustles until I get my own gear. And before you ask, people have been caught doing this so somehow the school finds out.
So, after all that, what camera should I get? People seem to love the Lumix line, specifically the G7 which I could afford now. I was looking at the Canon R8, which seems really nice and I could afford it in a few months if I save up. Or should I save up for the remainder of my time in school and look into getting something like the C300 Mk II (used) and just use the school's equipment until then?
Of course, what I didn't mention along with all those cameras above is the cost of lenses, batteries, chargers, lights, mics...you get the idea.
So what do you think? Get something cheaper, but sooner? Wait a bit for something better? Or kick this can down the road for a couple years and get "professional" gear?
