Obviously hasn’t been given too much thought but could a system like this improve the AFL media landscape? There is absolutely zero accountability in footy media and it could be a much better space if journalists did their job properly.

I’m very glad I found this Classical Liberal Arts Academy YouTube videos by this extremely catholic tutor man to help me as I’m going along (if only I had the same translation he’s using!). Having a hard time wrapping my head around these concepts but it’s definitely inspired me to brush up on my basic grammar and keep pressing through. I found a site Getting Out by Going In (GOGI) but I’m not sure if this organization is well known and if it’s a good one. We are wanting courses that’ll result in a certificate. Courses like anger management, parenting, etc. just showing completion and that he’s using his time wisely in there. Ok this story is going to sound very trivial, but ultimately being called a manipulator struck a nerve with me.
Background - I work in a high stress environment, where I manage an entire division within our business. My direct report is the Director himself. I am also currently working towards the highest level of accreditation within my field outside of work a la CFA, Registered Lawyer, Doctor etc...
As a coping mechanism for stress, I have picked up vaping (I know it sucks, don't judge). I stopped smoking a few years ago but picked up vaping once I was promoted, and it serves a great purpose for me in keeping my stress levels in check.
My gf also vapes, she's a high performer but doesn't nearly rely on it as much as I do. Let's call her habit recreational. I would consider my habit a reliance at this point.
Her vape sucks so she always uses mine. As above, I rely heavily on being able to freely vape without interruption. After many months of her using mine whilst I am either studying or working, me explaining the above to her many times, I finally said no.
I said something along the lines of, "I'm going to put my foot down and say no, which will hopefully cause you to go to the shop and get a vape you enjoy". She said to me that that was manipulation and that I'm being a manipulator.
Does anything think this to be true? Given, I have explained I rely on it heavily and that her using it inconveniences me more than she thinks, especially when I am studying/working. It's a pain in my ass, and to top things off, the nearest shop is a 5 minute driveaway.
So am I the asshole? And was I manipulating her?

Hello,
I am currently writing a story that I have wanted to write for a long time. One issue that I am struggling with, I have different sentences that share the same topic, and the same characters and there is stuff happening on the page but all of it feels disconnected. when reading over what I have written, I can feel and intuitively sense as a reader that my writing sorely lacks an undercurrent, or what I like to call the golden threads, it lacks that overarching nature, or what some might say "it reads like a story without a story". As a reader, when I read novels like a court of thorns and roses, or horror stories by stephen king especially IT and Carrie - I admire how these authors write with psychological unity, each of their sentence build on the other and I can sense a strong undercurrent, but I don't know how to create that with my own writing.
Here is a small sample of Chapter 3
The week following the accident. A psychologist had moved into the guest room. She was to monitor Beverly’s behavior for abnormal trauma response. They sat under the kitchen light. Frances held his forehead. The phone glued to his ear. Two other people sat with him at the island, laptops open in front of them. These two were typing hard and fast. A printer was set up on the countertop. It was spitting out papers one after the other. That same week, Beverly was struck by insomnia. Every morning she was always exhausted, and each night she anguished the fight to make herself sleep. She counted the days to her mother’s funeral. She couldn’t tell her father about her terrible insomnia. She feared that Frances would be annoyed with her. Beverly was a mama's girl. She wasn’t as close to Frances. As a young girl, she was raised by a single mother and barely saw Frances. He came and went like a ghost haunting their mini mansion. Frances was gone weeks and months on end to attend workshops and seminars. His career was the number one priority. Beverly learned to assuage neglect from none other than her mother. A petite and scared woman stuck inside of a bubble. Her mother struggled with self worth. She was belittled as a trophy wife. The marriage and the wife and the newborn daughter played second fiddle to France’s ruthless ambitions. She couldn’t leave Frances as much as she wanted. She had to think of her daughter first. She didn't want to raise Beverly without a father. What she perceived as her achilles heel was her lack of financial independence. Frances had no penchant to throw both his wife and daughter onto the street as punishment. So, her mother endured a loveless marriage until her tragic death. Frances never cared to nurture a relationship with his only child. That was not going to change with the death of his wife. On the day of the funeral, Frances threatened to lock up Beverly in the bathroom for the whole funeral procession had she cried too much at the burial ceremony. When all was done and earth with, and his wife's casket buried six feet deep inside the earth, Frances hired a full time tutor that acted as full time babysitter for a prepubescent Beverly, and he was off again, not to be seen again for a long time. That's what professor's do, they were always busy. Beverly was never a priority.

This may seem odd, but I’m starting the search for someone, preferably a professional in the field of mathematics or theory, to video chat once in a while with my 10 year old son about his ideas about infinity and zero.
So, as you can see, I’m way out of my element here. But there are two things I know for sure: 1. My son is rad af, and 2. He has a lot of ideas about infinity and zero and the universe and life and he needs someone who has more to offer his brain than me. I know when I’ve been beat. He’s a super creative kid and has so many abstract ideas and loves thought experiments. I really try to challenge him and do my best, but man… he would really benefit from bouncing his ideas off of someone who would counter or challenge him more and give him even more to think about.
Where do I begin? Any advice?? I’m not interested in Mathnasium type tutoring— I want to find someone who shares his love for thought experiments, and if possible just chat with him from time to time. Maybe a couple times a year? Or even just once? Can anyone point me in the right direction??

Hi lovelies!! I’m a 23 fall transfer STILL waiting for decision now:(( since it’s been too long so I’d just assume that I would be rejected lol… I’m now from a out state community college transferring to CLAS comp sci major with overall 4.0 gpa, the critical tracking courses I’ve done with are: calc1,2,3; physics1 (physics 2 in progress now); two java programming courses. Anyway, since I’m transferring from a out state community college, I don’t get any priority, also some of the ge courses are not transferable. What’s worse is that I only have one activity to write which is a math tutor. In this case, I want to transfer to Santa Fe College this fall or this summer to start earlier and then try 24 fall transfer (cuz I’ll have to get an AA degree if I transfer to Santa Fe College as a FL CC transfer)
One major reason is that my family was moving to Orlando last year but I don’t wanna cut down my college so I just to stayed and try transferring to UF, well now it seems hopeless to get in UF as a OOS student:((
If there’s anyone majored in CS or Math major and transferred to UF successfully, I’d be more than happy and grateful to know ur insights!! I've stopped using math and programming discussion sites almost entirely since I'm using Bing Chat and GPT-4 as a tutor.
For one thing, moderators on some of these channels are just plain snotty. Like, how dare you ask a Newbie question that is just a basic misunderstanding. Then, they'll even delete the query as not worth anyone's time. Well, of course I have a basic misunderstanding. I'm a newbie, you jerk. Some of these arrogant moderators act like they were born knowing everything.
AI, on the other hand, just answers the question patiently, with simple examples if you ask for that. And you can ask again and again for examples until something clicks. It will also correct itself if you point out an error after trying its result. Usually, you just add a bit more detail you didn't include. I've never had to do more than three tries on most things.
Also, you can wait a day or two for answers from a discussion group, and then not get a good answer.
As for using Help files, a lot of them are awful since programmers hate writing help files. So they'll scant basic examples, if they even give one. Then,it's on to examples so abstruse you already need to know the program and math to an advanced level to understand the examples. Mathematica is particularly awful in this regard, Again, infinitely patient AI tends to give basic examples, and you can ask for more. And I Never get a snotty reply. Humans suck 🤪

Hello! Im currently living in Ontario and looking into online MSW programs from the US. I found a program I’m interested in offered by the University if Texas in Arlington, and the program website indicates that graduates are eligible to apply for licensure in Alberta, BC, and Manitoba.. obviously I’m in Ontario so this is a problem for me.
I’ve contacted the school and they told me they weren’t sure why I wouldn’t be able to apply for licensure in Ontario and advised me to contact the Ontario College of Social Workers. I’ve sent an email to OCSWSSW but haven’t heard back yet so I’m wondering the following:
Does anybody know if pursuing this program would cause issues with me eventually registering to practice social work in Ontario? I tried to research the specific requirements for licensure in Ontario and it just says you need to graduate from a CSWE- accredited program.
If I were to pursue this degree and register with the college of social workers in Alberta, BC, or Manitoba, would it be difficult to then afterwards register to practice in Ontario?

 | I'm playing old fashion Warriors with Blaze of Glory. Doing really good so far. Almost hitting 2500 with 18-5-1. 3 of those loss were against these deck. submitted by Feharj to gwent [link] [comments] I know my deck is not the best against Shupe/Erland/Temple and I know not every deck will be good against everything. Thats super health for the game and I want more of this. I know my deck is Devotion and these days this is a weakness. I think always was... But let me get to the point. On the first game against this deck I've tried one way to play: Play to 7, loose first round to not give many value on Muta, deleting Radovid and Anseis for a possible Viraxas. It didnt work cause Erland was 40 plus points even passing on 7 on the first round and deleting almost everything opponent have played. On the second game I changed my playstyle. Try to win first round or at least force a big point difference. Opponent goes down 2 cards and pass. Long round 3 Shupe lock my Tyr, guy plays one Viraxas on ranged. I deleted. But for my lovely surprise he plays another Viraxas and Anseis removed Jutta and my Bran at 12, and another time, Erland was 30 plus points. Third game (the game on the picture): Adapted my playstyle again. I win round 1 deleting Radovid, so Op had only 3 leader charges. Didnt get Anseis on first round this time. Decided to go for a bleed on round 2. My Tyr got deleted by Philippa. Used Morkvarg on her cause she was at 9 points (yes. she played for 19 points) and that was my last card to force him to play his last card. But the deck is immune too against bleed cause op had yet one leader charge and just switched Erland for a trash bronze card at 9 points. Ok. Now we go for RNG cause he shuffled back Erland and if he didnt draw it, I win. Yeah. But Radeyah is a thing and shes not RNG cause Runemage completely cut this variable. So he just roll a Scroll and get Erland. The result is this atrocity... The deck is just unfair and super frustating. They will always get Anseis at 14 points. Every time. Temple must be reworked. This card is one of the worst things ever added to the game. Mutagenerator is another atrocity to the game. You just throw on every deck and plays for 20+ points on a 6P card. And no, the round 1 is not slow cause anytime you are loosing by 20 plus points you just throw your Anseis playing for possible 28 points and win the round. Shupe is the card I hate the most on Gwent. Used to be a RNG tool but as I said before, with Runemage the RNG variable is out of question so you just have a card that makes everything for you any time you want. For comparison She Who Knows is a 10 power 13 provision that need another 15 points to work. And the Resilience is not even the biggest problem with the card. And the restrictive deck building is a terrible design for a card and is not a problem as most of people think. Pincer Maneuver is terrible. Terrible. Terrible. On card Games, tutors/cards that fix your hand are always the strongest cards in the game and the most expansive ones. Just look how expansive are the tutors on MTG. I play MTG and every deck need a tutor but every good tutor is super expansive like Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Wordly Tutor etc. So why Gwent has a leader with 4 charges (cause Radovid and Temple) and possible 5 to tutor any card in your deck and fix your hand cause you can get only NR cards but you can shuffle any card of your hand? How is this even a thing on a CCG? I dont even need to talk about Erland right? This deck is really making me not wanna play the game. I feel like im always playing against a bot cause is always the same. Always Anseis at 14, Shupe for a ridiculous effect, always Temple always Muta and trash bronzes, always Erland being non-interactive with 40 points. I dont wanna play CoC or Villen or even Scorch on all my decks. And I cant run Dire Bear on a Warrior deck and almost only for Erland... Im not even angry writing this or when I loose for the deck. I just feel realy disappointed cause is nothing about making good plays or adapting your playstyle to counter.
