2023.06.08 07:02 wApzor I'm gonna break free
I will.
I'm filled with so much doubt. I feel unable. I have no voice cause it's been silenced and/or twisted into something that was not mine. Gas lights have been lit and i've fought the flames.
I've sat up all night contemplating, as i've done the last week after yet another episode where she got her mom in to try and change the lock in our home since i hung up on her cry-blame-bombing me for doing something POSITIVE. I've never felt more alien in my own home.
I've been doubting so much, myself, my experiences, my mind, as she has become the most loving girlfriend you can imagine these last days. This is what happens you know, they show you what good can look like before they smash that into pieces leaving you scarred on the remains, while they willfully forget.
I found some recordings. At last, i can stop doubting my experiences. Splitting, gaslighting, suicide threats, crying-hatred-laughter in the matter of seconds. Everything i thought i forgot, i suddenly remembered.
I'm getting the FUCK out of here for good.

- Switches. Electromechanical Relays. Ladder Logic
6.1. Switch Types
A switch is a device that interrupts the flow of electrons in a circuit when pressed. They can switch between two states: completely on (‘’closed’’) or completely off (‘’open’’), which makes them similar to the binary devices. There are different types of switches, some simple, some more complex, but all of them have the ability to either be ‘’open’’ or ‘’closed’’.
6.1.1. Toggle Switches
The toggle switch can be found in most common households. They are actuated by a lever angled in one of two or more positions. Most used toggle switches will come to rest in any of their lever positions. There are also others that have an internal spring mechanism returning the lever to a certain normal position, allowing the so called ‘’momentary’’ operation.
6.1.2. Pushbutton Switches
Pushbutton switches are two-position devices actuated with a button that is pressed and released. Most pushbutton switches have an internal spring mechanism like the one mentioned above by the toggle switches. Others will stay in their ‘’pressed’’ position until the button is pressed again to go into the ‘’pulled out’’ position.
6.1.3. Selector Switches
Selector switches are actuated with a rotary knob or lever to select one of two or more positions. Like the toggle switch, selector switches can either rest in any of their positions or contain an internal spring mechanism for momentary operation.
6.1.4. Joystick Switches
A joystick switch is actuated by a lever free to move in more than one axis of motion. One or more of several switch contact mechanisms are used depending on which way the lever is pushed, and in some cases by how far it is pushed. Those types of switches are most commonly used for crane and robot control, sometimes even designed to be operated by the motion of a machine rather than by the hand of a human operator.
6.1.5. Limit Switches
The so-called limit switches are motion-operated switches. They are often used to limit the motion of a machine by turning off the actuating power to a component if it moves too far. These switches closely resemble rugged toggle or selector hand switched fitted with a lever pushed by a machine part.
6.1.6. Proximity Switches
Proximity switches sense the approach of a metallic machine part either by a magnetic or high-frequency electromagnetic field. Simple proximity switches use a permanent magnet to actuate a sealed switch mechanism whenever the machine part gets close (typically 1 inch or less). More complex proximity
switches work like a metal detector, energizing a coil of wire with a high- frequency current, and electronically monitoring the magnitude of that current. If a metallic part (not necessarily magnetic) gets close enough to the coil, the current will increase, and trip the monitoring circuit. Another form of proximity switch is the optical switch, comprised of a light source and photocell. Machine position is detected by either the interruption or reflection of a light beam.
6.1.7. Speed Switches
These switches sense the rotary speed of a shaft either by a centrifugal weight mechanism mounted on the shaft, or by some kind of non-contact detection of shaft motion such as optical or magnetic.
6.1.8. Pressure Switches
Gas or liquid pressure can be used to actuate a switch mechanism if that pressure is applied to a piston, diaphragm, or bellows, which converts pressure to mechanical force.
6.1.9. Temperature Switches
The temperature switches use a temperature-sensing mechanism called ‘’bimetallic strip’’, which is a thin strip of two metals, joined back-to-back, each metal having a different rate of thermal expansion. When the strip heats or cools, differing rates of thermal expansion between the two metals causes it to bend. The bending of the strip can then be used to actuate a switch contact
mechanism. Other temperature switches use a brass bulb filled with either a liquid or gas, with a tiny tube connecting the bulb to a pressure-sensing switch. As the bulb is heated, the gas or liquid expands, generating a pressure increase which then actuates the switch mechanism.
6.1.10. Liquid Level Switch
A floating object can be used to actuate a switch mechanism when the liquid level in a tank rises past a certain point. If the liquid is electrically conductive, the liquid itself can be used as a conductor to bridge between two metal probes inserted into the tank at the required depth. Level switches can also be designed to detect the level of solid materials such as wood chips, grain, coal, or animal feed in a storage silo, bin, or hopper.
6.1.11. Liquid Flow Switch
Inserted into a pipe, a flow switch will detect any gas or liquid flow rate more than a certain threshold, usually with a small paddle or vane which is pushed by the flow. Other flow switches are constructed as differential pressure switches, measuring the pressure drop across a restriction built into the pipe.
6.1.12. Nuclear Level Switch
Another type of level switch, suitable for liquid or solid material detection, is the nuclear switch. Composed of radioactive source material and a radiation detector, the two are mounted across the diameter of a storage vessel for either solid or liquid material. Any height of material beyond the level of the source/detector arrangement will attenuate the strength of radiation reaching the detector. This decrease in radiation at the detector can be used to trigger a
relay mechanism to provide a switch contact for measurement, alarm point, or even control of the vessel level. Source and detector are outside of the vessel, with no intrusion at all except the radiation flux itself. The radioactive sources used are weak and pose no immediate health threat to operations or maintenance personnel.
6.2. Switch Contact Design
One way to construct a switch is by bringing two conductors into contact with each other in a controlled environment and manner. A crude but easily understandable example will be two copper wires touching each other by the motion of a lever, or directly pushing two metal strips into contact. The conductive parts in a switch used to make and break the electrical connection are called contacts. They are typically made of silver or silver-cadmium alloy, whose conductive properties are not significantly compromised by surface corrosion or oxidation. Gold contacts exhibit the best corrosion resistance, but are limited in current-carrying capacity and may “cold weld” if brought together with high mechanical force. Whatever the choice of metal, the switch contacts are guided by a mechanism ensuring square and even contact, for maximum reliability and minimum resistance. Contacts such as these can be constructed to handle extremely large amounts of electric current, up to thousands of amps in some cases.
The limiting factors for switch contact ampacity are as follows: heat generated by current through metal contacts (while closed); sparking caused when contacts are opened or closed; the voltage across open switch contacts (potential of current jumping across the gap). 6.2.1. Mercury Switch A common type of sealed-contact switch is the mercury switch. Mercury is a metallic element, liquid at room temperature. Mercury switches use a slug of liquid mercury metal as a moving contact. Sealed in a glass tube, the mercury contact’s spark is sealed from the outside environment, making this type of switch ideally suited for atmospheres potentially harbouring explosive vapours. 6.2.2. Magnetic Reed Switches Reed switches are another type of sealed-contact device, contact being made by two thin metal “reeds” inside a glass tube, brought together by the influence of an external magnetic field. 6.3. Contact “Normal” State and Make/Break Sequence The normal state of a switch is that where it is unactuated. For process switches, this is the condition it’s in when sitting on a shelf, uninstalled. Therefore, contacts that are open in this position are called normally open and contacts that are closed – normally closed. Sometimes those terms are abbreviated to N.O. and N.C., respectively. Normally-open contacts are designated by the lines not touching, while normally-closed contacts are designated with a diagonal line bridging between the two lines. The switch on the left will close when actuated, and will be open while in the “normal” (unactuated) position. The switch on the right will open when actuated, and is closed in the “normal” (unactuated) position. Multiposition switches can be either break-before-make (most common) or make-before- break. The “poles” of a switch refers to the number of moving contacts, while the “throws” of a switch refers to the number of stationary contacts per moving contact.
6.4. Contact ‘’Bounce’’ Due to the mass of the moving contact of a switch and the possible elasticity inherent in the mechanism and/or contact materials, contacts will ‘’bounce’’ upon closing for some milliseconds before coming to a full rest and providing unbroken contact. Most of the times this presents no consequences, however, if the switch is used to send a signal to an electronic amplifier or some other circuit with a fast response time, contact bounce may produce very noticeable and undesired effects. For example, if we use a switch to provide a ‘’clock’ signal to a digital counter circuit, so that it increases the counted value with one every time the button is pushed. When the so called ‘’bouncing’’ happens, the circuit will mistakenly count a single push as several counts. Therefore, when we use switches for such precise work, we need to find a way to debounce them. There are several different ways of debouncing a switch contact: to reduce the kinetic energy of the moving contact, which will reduce the force of impact as it comes to rest on the stationary contact, thus minimizing bounce; to use “buffer springs” on the stationary contact(s) so that they are free to recoil and gently absorb the force of impact from the moving contact; to design the switch for “wiping” or “sliding” contact rather than direct impact, such as a “Knife” switch design; to dampen the switch mechanism’s movement using an air or oil “shock absorber” mechanism; to use sets of contacts in parallel with each other, each slightly different in mass or contact gap, so that when one is rebounding off the stationary contact, at least one of the others will still be in firm contact; to “wet” the contacts with liquid mercury in a sealed environment, so that after initial contact is made, the surface tension of the mercury will maintain circuit continuity even though the moving contact may bounce off the stationary contact several times. Each one of these suggestions sacrifices some aspect of switch performance for limited bounce, and so it is impractical to design all switches with limited contact bounce in mind. 6.5. Relay Construction Relays are extremely useful when we have a need to control a large amount of current and/or voltage with a small electrical signal. The relay coil which produces the magnetic field may only consume fractions of a watt of power, while the contacts closed or opened by that magnetic field may be able to conduct hundreds of times that amount of power to a load. In effect, a relay acts as a binary (on or off) amplifier. Just as with transistors, the relay’s ability
to control one electrical signal with another finds application in the construction of logic functions. In the above schematic, the relay’s coil is energized by the low-voltage (12 VDC) source, while the single-pole, single-throw (SPST) contact interrupts the high-voltage (480 VAC) circuit. 6.6. Contactors When a relay is used to switch a large amount of electrical power through its contacts, it is designated by a special name: contactor. Contactors typically have multiple contacts, and those contacts are usually (but not always) normally-open, so that power to the load is shut off when the coil is de- energized. Perhaps the most common industrial use for contactors is the control of electric motors.
Large electric motors can be protected from overcurrent damage through the use of overload heaters and overload contacts. If the series-connected heaters get too hot from excessive current, the normally-closed overload contact will open, de-energizing the contactor sending power to the motor.

2023.06.08 07:01 Desperate_Yam4150 Help! I lost my mouth guard at bedtime
I don’t know what happened to the dumb thing, but it has seemingly grown legs and walked out of my apartment. I can’t run to the store to grab an otc one because I’m alone at home with my sleeping baby.
Is there something makeshift that I can do to protect my teeth tonight? 😞 I really can’t go even one night without it.

2023.06.08 07:01 New-Tomorrow2606 We both crossed boundaries
So for context. We’ve been really stressed out paying the bills. So I decided to find a job and I might start in two weeks (I have to give them the ok). With that income we’ll lose our food stamps but we’ll make more and save more. I’m thinking we can always go to food banks and use whatever they give us as well to cut costs.
I just moved to a different state and the only family I have is my aunt and hers. I’ve known her since I was little but can’t say I truly have gotten to known her until now. And so far no read flags besides an on n off thing with her husband but they’ve never given me any reason to feel uncomfortable with them or them around my son. So I mention this because my job interferes with my husbands on one day. Thursday he goes in at 6. I get out at 6. Someone needs to take care of the the baby until then. Not to mention I’m having another in about 2 months. So someone has to take them both for at least 30-1 hr until I get home. I asked my aunt she said that’s fine. Me and my husband have talked about it and we both agree we don’t really know how we feel about her husband being there. Or watching him. Again, they’ve never given us any reason to feel uncomfortable, they don’t even hit their kids, but I just idk I guess it’s just me being protective as well. Like anything can happen in 30-1hr. To clarify, it won’t be us leaving my son with him. It’ll be her watching them. But he’ll be there. I’ve known him since I was a kid too and can’t say he’s ever done anything to make me feel uncomfortable either.
So back to what happened. I haven’t been sleeping the past few nights because I’ve been so stressed out. Finally I went Fuck it I need to work (I’ve been waiting until the baby comes but I feel like it can’t wait) so I applied and called and got a job offer basically. So I tell him, and honestly I’m excited. I get to socialize again and we make more money. I can sleep better at night. He says it’s his allergies which I’ll admit HAVE been making him look more grumpy and done. But to me, he just kept having an attitude. Like negative. He kept saying “is there no way to change Thursday to Sunday ? Damn why does it have to be Thursday?” I started getting frustrated because if they would’ve offered me a Sunday I would’ve taken it. Obviously it’d be easier. And i kept saying no but this is what we got so we’ll just have to make it work. I even called my aunt and she said Thursday is no problem she can watch my son for a little until I get home. Even the new baby. To be honest now looking back I guess I should’ve clarified this som more. But I did say she’ll pick him up and I’ll go pick him up once I get there. So I’m assuming he understood “pick him up from HER HOUSE” why would I pick him up from my own home.
Basically I have mentioned many times if she were to take care of my son it’d most likely be at her home as she has her own baby to take care of as well. As I’m typing this I’m realizing it could’ve been easily resolved by me asking what is he comfortable with and simply asking my aunt if she’d just come over to our home and watch my son for a little until I get back. My husband was concerned about leaving him around her husband for the simple fact we don’t know him too well.
Honestly I just snapped. He asked me “wait he’s going to be there ?” And I was like yes obviously that’s his home. And he just sighed again like was doing the whole time and it just set me off. I feel like instead of thinking proactively and trying to find a resolution he kept just shaking his head sighing. And I was getting irritated giving him solutions and it felt like he still was just not having it. Not having it, yet not saying much, and the only things he would say was why can’t the day be Sunday or Monday. I already told you.
So I leave pissed off after yelling at him that I’m so tired of repeating myself and dealing with his negative attitude, basically at the top of my lungs. I started being a smart ass when he asked me to clarify and I just started pushing buttons. My husband is very calm. He may not get it the first time but he does try. He resorts to anger the very last and he lets it go fastest. This time he snapped. And just started yelling I mean his voice has never been deeper. And i just realized I have to go. I leave into another room and he follows still yelling and I try to close the door and he pushed it open as I’m pushing it back but I’m pregnant and can’t really do it. I just started pushing him telling him to stop and leave I’m not going to talk to him. I’m sure he’s been fed up with all the other times he just kept saying why am I always the one who has to leave etc. I was getting a little scared because I’ve never seen him this mad and he started pushing my arms back and just yelled whatre you gonna do punch me punch me then. I slapped him and then we both just started crying. He kind of gave up and just said this is terrible. I just kept saying fuck off. And he just kept proceeding into the room saying let’s talk and I just said we’re not talking right now. I don’t want to talk.
He left to work and we haven’t talked. I don’t know what to think. I feel like we both crossed boundaries and I feel like it’s my fault. I know someone can only take so much and he takes a lot. Personally I’m doing my best to work on my anger. At least controlling it. Today we just both snapped.

2023.06.08 07:00 spikedpeachtea Pulling Expired Goods
Oh man...this was my favorite, and most horrifying part, of the job. I literally filled an entire cart full of things on more than one occasion with super expired stuff. I'm talking from 2021 in 2023.
My biggest was when I did the candy aisle. Oh boy!
The lady that would stock that aisle NEVER checked dates and just kept putting new stock on top of old stock. I must have pulled 15 pounds of peg board candies off.
Medicine was never that bad, but the cereal and coffee aisles were terrible. And, on more than one sweep, I pulled moldy bread off the shelf. On slow nights, I would literally sit in the floor and go through each and every bread loaf and bun package.
I was the only one that would do it. The SM was always shocked by how much I would take off the shelves at any given time, but always countered with..."Well, you know we are so understaffed..." which, at the time, was not the case.
I still think about it every time I go into that store now that I have quit. I look at every single date because I know they aren't checking anything.

2023.06.08 07:00 More_Internal_9892 This ends, right?
For the past week, I’ve been wanting to write to you. Here’s to me wishing the pain will end, just waiting for the storm to pass.
Does it ever end? It’s been a year and I swear, last week took me back to last year. The feeling of betrayal, heartbreak and loneliness hit again.
I’m so lost trying to find myself, grabbing hold of anything I can reach just so I don’t sink again.
For some reason, not known to me, my mind always reaches out but it leads with thoughts of you. Memories and reminders of what I thought was and what will never be again. That’s what consumes me.
I’m happy you’re alive, well and breathing. I’d do anything to be a part of your life again. But I understand that this pain is just a part of loving you from a distance. This is what you wanted. I have to convince myself that I will be okay and the motivation to remain alive is based on the knowing that at least one of us is happy again.
It’s good to see you happy and thriving.
I just need to survive, make it through this night until it passes. It’ll end, right? Just tell me it soon ends.

2023.06.08 07:00 Not4Russian How do I (18M) ask my girlfriend (18F) to shave
So me and my girlfriend have been together for 3 years (our anniversary just passed). We were very smart and decided to not do anything sexual before we turned 18 because she was not on birth control and we wanted to finish highschool without kids. Of course we participated in the occasional spicy photo sharing and bodily touching, but we both agreed to stop before it got to the point where we would want to have sex. I'm saying all this to get the message across that before two weeks ago, I hadn't touched or seen her naked body.
So we both turned 18 a few months ago and she brought up the fact last month, right after she'd moved out from her parents house, that I'd never seen her naked. I started planning a romantic date and afterwards, we'd go back to her apartment and have sexy time.
We went on the date and everything went well and on the way back to her apartment, we stopped at a light and she placed my hand in her skirt. It was nice but there was a lot of hair. I was cool with it at first, even though it was really hard to navigate (I'm an inexperienced virgin, the hair didn't help). Once we got back to her place, we both knew what was up and we got to stripping. I started trying some foreplay and I ended up going down there. I tried my best not to mind it, but her hair was in my mouth, my nose was being tickled, and it was hard to make eye contact, which she keeps telling me to do (her hair was really long and clouding my vision). Other than that, everything was fine... I thought at least.
I woke up the next morning and went about my morning routine. Get clothes ready, hop in the shower, hop out, skin care, brush my teeth, etc. Well, whilst brushing my teeth, I found a few of her hairs in my mouth. That absolutely disgusted me. Hair in the mouth is one of my worst phobias. I can't stand it.
At this point, it's either ask her to shave or stop giving head. I really don't want to choose the latter. So, how should I ask her to shave? I don't want her to feel pressured, but I also want her to know I mean it. Thanks for any responses in advance.
TL;DR: My girlfriends public hair is incredibly long and it's become problematic. I want to ask her to shave without hurting her feelings. How should I do it?

2023.06.08 06:59 Kuther2000 I’m interested in speaking with more people with lupus.
I’m 32 year old black female. I first started showing symptoms back in 2019. I have night sweats where I would wake up drenched in sweat. I would have to change my clothes or just sleep naked and move to another side of the bed because I was too lazy to get up and change sheets.
During the summer of 2019, I started breaking out with hives on my legs. It was horrible red and itchy. I was between jobs so I didn’t have insurance. I also didn’t think my sweating was that bad.
In 2020, a huge mass started swelling near my armpit. I was sure it was a lymph node because when I was younger my throat would swell up with lymph nodes around a particular time. It would not go away. I was living in Korea at the time teaching. I finally went to a doctor and showed them the mass. during this time, my legs were sore, my muscles aches. My fingers were constantly. My fingers were constantly cold and purple. I had difficulty walking at times. It didn’t last long though or it would stop and start back. That is why I was able to ignore it for so long.
I was then sent to an imaging place in another city. Once I provided it to my primary doctor, it was recommended that I got to a major hospital to get checked out. I had a needle biopsy everything came back okay. No cancer.
I returned to the states that same year. I found a job and got insurance again and decided to try again. In 2021, I went to a primary care doctor and he sent me to an oncologist. My levels were high and she wanted me to get an actual biopsy to rule cancer out once in for all.The surgery went well. No cancerShe noticed my Ana levels weren’t good at all.
That’s when I sent me to a rheumatologist and he diagnosed me with lupus. I have been on Hydroxychloroquine for 2 years now.
I detailed all of this to say that I don’t know anyone with lupus. I would would love to talk to someone about it or anything. I started a new job about six months ago. I have been having majority anxiety and brain fog (new word that I just became familiar with). It got to the point that I asked my rheumatologist if the medicine caused anxiety. He said no. I would love to hear other people’s thoughts and coping mechanisms.

2023.06.08 06:58 GrimForTheSoul I feel awful for what my friend is going through cause of me
My friend R is my Bestfriend, I love her so much, but her being friends with me has caused her a lot of problems from our old friend group. A lot of people there don’t like me. I’ve done some things. It was a group full of toxic Asshole’s along with me and I’ve admitted my mistakes to her andshe’s stuck by myside the whole time and idk where’d I be without her. But people are getting mad at her for hanging out with me. The latest being the weekend of her graduation party. She spent the Friday with me while she was was in town (I live about an hour away). We decided that’d she spend the night at my house cause the next day she had to pick up her exchange sister (ES) so it was just more convenient for her to stay in town instead of driving all the way back just to pick ES up but for her to do that she had to miss 2 party’s. And their putting the whole blame on me. Saying that she’s always with me when in reality we’ve only been able to hang out a total of 5 times in the span of 6-7 months since I’ve moved. I’m just so worried that these people will start mistreating her because she’s my friend. Idk what to do. I want advice but I also don’t wanna burden her with my worries.

2023.06.08 06:57 SentientRockPeople On a dating app what is the best time/place to ask a woman out for a spontaneous date (like "I'm hanging out at so and so place, feel free to join and I'll buy you a drink/coffee")?
So I have a bunch of semi-interested matches on dating apps. When I'm hanging out at a place, occasionally I invite them to join me right then and there and it's worked a couple times to get a casual first date rolling. So I'm wondering what kind of an invite looks better
Obviously it's dumb if it's like a dirt cheap dive bar or a chain restaurant. But let's say the venue is interesting but also reasonable to hang out at casually. A gastropub or craft brewery or coffee shop
By giving an insight on your life and that you do stuff on your own, it could look impressive/interesting/confident even if she doesn't have time right then.
An invite like this also might look bad on Friday or Saturday night to the party girl type, but could look bad on Monday through Thursday night to the average working woman type.
So
- Classy bar or coffee shop or some other venue?
- Weeknight or weekend?
- Daytime coffee shop invite, or night time bar invite?

Remember when there was a man who gave a speech that claimed he had a lot of degrees in the medical field and said if you took any vaccine, you’d be dead in the next 12 months, btw, he gave the speech at the beginning of 2021. Im A-OK, and you wanna know why? It’s cus it was brought to light that he had no prior medical degrees. The vaccine never claimed to keep people from dying or not getting the virus. It was said that it would help people have lessened symptoms if they were to get the virus. Well, I got the virus and my symptoms were not as bad as people who got the virus without the vaccine!

2023.06.08 06:56 Harry-Jane Targeted in league play
Curious the groups thoughts on this. I got matched in league play with 4.0-4.5ish guys. I’m around 3.0-3.5. They all took turns targeting me and me alone all 3 games. Every single ball that wasn’t required to go to the other player was hit at me. Is that pretty douchey knowing I’m overmatched from the outset? Should I have said something? I just took my medicine and tried to learn what I could, but it seemed pretty unnecessary for a small town league night where half of the guys are drunk before their last game. It’s not very likely that any of them got any better tonight which is kind of the point imo.
For context, I just started in February. I’m decent and even medaled in a 3.0 tourney in both singles and doubles, but these guys are clearly way ahead of where I’m at and they knew it from the first point. Seems like it would scare off people trying to learn if they weren’t as stubborn as I am.

2023.06.08 06:56 Ill_Marionberry8518 Tic Disorder?
I'm in a lot of epilepsy groups and I haven't really heard this mentioned but anyone develop a tic disorder, tics, or weird uncontrollable movements from Keppra (or other AED)? My daughter is currently going through the weaning process on Keppra. Thankfully. But over the last couple months, she developed what we though was myoclonic seziures but EEG was clear. It was jerks in the left side limbs at first but turned into repetitive movements that caused her harm, and even vocal words that she would repeat. I grew up with an uncle that has Tourettes Syndrome and that's exactly what some of this stuff started to look like.. I read a little about the possibility last night but I can't find a lot on this.

My little mishap at the chemical factory was just a tad worse than the press release indicated. Truth is, I was reduced to a mass of burned, scarred flesh. My doctors labored night and day... but the best they could do was... well... you can see for yourself. I was soooo depressed. Lost interest in my business, money, power -- it all meant nothing to me. For months, I sat around like a lump, eating too much and watching endless hourse of television. Believe me, there's just so much "Wheel of Fortune" a man can take. Anyway... as time passed... I began to understand what happened... see it in a new light. Not as an ending... but a beginning. Lex Luthor was a corrupt, greedy, manipulative businessman. He was willing to do just about anything for power. When the Daily Planet was going to publish an article showing him and his company in a negative light, he bought the Planet.

2023.06.08 06:56 greatwinner123 Is this news true about Korea: Young people have flocked to temples in South Korea
I recently read a piece of news about young people in South Korea pouring into temples to escape from reality. This article is written in Chinese, I have never traveled to South Korea and can't verify the authenticity, so I post it here to ask for help. Is it real or is the media in China speaking ill of your country to transfer domestic contradictions? The following is the full article:
【韩国,“寒意”正在蔓延】
South Korea: "Chilling Atmosphere" Spreading
This summer, a large number of young people have flocked to temples in South Korea, causing overcrowding in 150 temples nationwide. They are not seeking relief from the heat, but rather escaping from the secular world. After placing their luggage in the rooms marked with door signs, they spend their days and nights in idleness. Even in the height of summer, there is a bone-chilling coldness.
Outside the mountain temples, a chilling atmosphere is spreading. White-collar workers in South Korea are now bringing their own lunch boxes to work because the cost of eating out has become unaffordable. They feel like half of their salary goes toward meal expenses.
Sandwiches and triangular seaweed rice balls in convenience stores are sold out by noon, and instant noodles have become a staple in offices. On social media, Koreans refer to it as "lunch inflation." Even post-meal coffee has become a burden, as high-end coffee shops are almost empty, and more people choose to drink instant coffee at the office.
What used to be an ordinary dish like pork bone soup has now become something they only eat when someone else treats them. Grilled pork belly, a popular Korean dish, has become a luxury. Even the lettuce that was once provided for free during barbecue meals now comes with a fee. Despite the decreasing number of customers, prices continue to rise, and everything seems to be on a train veering off track.
In May this year, pork belly prices in South Korea increased by 11.4%, while black bean noodles increased by 12.5%. According to data from the Korean Statistical Office, the rate of price increases in the food and beverage industry is at its highest level since May 1992.
It's not just food and beverages that are seeing price hikes; electricity, water, and gas prices in South Korea increased by 23.1% in October of last year, and in May of this year, electricity and gas fees rose again. Electric fans are now the best-selling appliances due to their energy efficiency.
Unable to afford takeout, frozen vegetables and pre-packaged sauces have become popular, and the sales of pre-packaged meals have quadrupled. College students are also changing their eating habits from three meals a day to two meals a day.
A student from Sookmyung Women's University said, "Nowadays, I can only spend my weekends sitting in cafes all day, unable to do anything and unable to afford anything."
Online, young Koreans have started a "money-saving challenge," and videos of frugal living have become popular. The younger generation now pursues the "divinity of value," looking for god-like cost-effectiveness. Previously fond of luxury brands, young people now buy second-hand clothes by weight for discounted prices.
In vintage clothing stores in Seoul's Hwayang-dong, young people sift through piles of old clothes. Dust settles slowly as life returns to the ground.
The sound of desolation and sobbing fills the air as mirages evaporate. South Korea's exports have experienced six consecutive months of negative growth, while housing prices have been falling for nine consecutive months.
In Seoul, some high-end real estate prices have dropped by over 40%, and the myth of Seoul's ever-rising property prices is now a thing of the past. Only those who bite the bullet and use 60% of their income to pay off mortgages remain. The sluggish economy has led to a wave of unemployment. Major companies in South Korea are downsizing, using the guise of voluntary retirement and subsequently implementing "quiet layoffs," which require employees to silently leave their positions.

2023.06.08 06:56 garou213 27 [M4F] WA, United States, Anywhere - Hopeless romantic looking to find the one! (Pics of me on profile)
Please read the whole post.
Hopeless romantic here looking to hopefully find the one! Looking to find the one. I'm hoping to find someone I can stay at home with and go out to the beach, go out to places with, learn to ballroom dance, have a picnic date, stay in during a rainy night and watch movies/ tv shows together. Looking for the cliche moments from rom-coms but also more 😊. I'm also willing to chat/ hangout to be friends before we start a relationship. We can watch a movie, tv show, anime together online if you don't live near by.
Looking for someone who is open minded. 22-33 (might be open to anyone older if we vibe). Someone who is willing to meet up later in the future. I'm fine with someone who smokes Marijuana but no other drugs or cigarettes. Can be from anywhere.
https://imgur.com/a/raBNEpX A little about me:
My name is Felipe. I'm Hispanic, male, age 27, 5'9". I have photos on my profile. I'm chubby. I'm introverted at first but the longer you get to know me then I become more extroverted. I love fall/autumn weather. Currently studying architecture design. I hope to construct buildings for families in need of a home in the future. I have big ambitious goal for my career. I speak Spanish.
I'm into the arts: I love to draw, paint and create all sorts of art.
I love to play video games: All time favorite game is Skyrim, but I like to play games like BF2042, Minecraft, Smash Bros, Zelda, etc.
I also, really love to watch movies, anime, tv shows, etc: some of my favorite movies are Trick r Treat, The Dark Night, Interstellar, The Exorcist, 5 year engagement, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Harry Potter series, lord of the rings series, 10 things I hate about you, the office, the Addams family, Wednesday and many more. Favorite genres are horror and rom coms ("do you like cheese?"😄).
My favorite type of music is all genres of rock and electronic music, classical, movie music, game music, culture based music, anime music. I rarely hear rap, hip-hop, and country. Some artist I listen to is Avenged Sevenfold, Apashe, Mozart, El tri, Queen, Hans Zimmer.
My favorite holiday is Halloween. 🎃
I live in the Washington, United States. I dont smoke cigarettes. I smoke cannabis only socially (maybe like 3 or 4 times a year). I'm fine if you smoke but occasionally like me. I casually drink socially but I'm not dependent on it to have a fun time. I actually prefer having fun without the need of drinks. I love all animals 🙂. I'm vaccinated. PLEASE add "ghost" in your response so I know that you read my whole post.
This is a little bit about myself but the more we talk then the more you'll get to know me. Send me a chat if interested! I'm usually respond quickly if I'm not doing anything at that time.

Our apartment is so fucking illuminated because of these lights and sleeping is going to be brutal. Imagine a flood light shining into your bedroom all night long, it’s like that.
I know that there are noise restrictions past a curfew, but what about light pollution? I am going to talk with the business tomorrow, but what if they don’t care and keep this up, is there anything I can do?

2023.06.08 06:55 TencoOut Idk if it’s okay to ask about prebuilt PCs here, but I really could use some advice from people who know something. What you would do in my situation?
As much as I would like to build my own, i don’t have much time to learn and get it ready, so I’m doing the unthinkable. I’m talking laptops here, because I know nothing and that’s all I’ve looked into so far, but I’m open to a desktop. This is a big buy for me that I’m hoping will help get me though a rough year.
My budget is between $2,000-3,500, after tax. It’s not just a gaming machine but gaming is how I’m justify spending so much. I don’t want to be wasteful, I just don’t want to wish I spent more since this may be all I have for a few years.
I need a decent CPU, although im not sure what that really means for me, 13th gen i9, i7 and where more budget options like a Ryzen 9 7845HX (laptop) would fall on that list? I need something that can handle lots of windows, fast searches through large libraries, multitasking, programs running at the same time, maybe even some light editing, all without too much effort.
As for gaming, I can’t tell if a 3080ti or a 4080 would actually be better for gaming or in what circumstances they excel, for example what is better at 150w or 175w? Would a 4070 be enough? I definitely want the framerates and to hold them for as long as I reasonable can as time goes.
I’m not sure what prebuilts have better, more reliable displays, cooling, less noise, and really want to stay away from companies that have a habit of pumping out lots of lemons, since I do need it soon.
Is there anything else I should be thinking about? I love to hear your thoughts, what desktops or laptops you would get in this position. Thank you to any who read and shared time and knowledge. Even just a link. Hope you all are well.

2023.06.08 06:55 Organic-Sympathy8066 Your "go to deities" please
Hi everyone! First a little back story... Almost 2 years ago, out of the blue, I got this sudden urge to research witchcraft. About 45 minutes into the rabbit hole it became apparent that this was a path I was meant to take. I was raised by my father (mom left before I can remember) and for about the first 8-10 years of my life we were raised with strong Christian beliefs. We did church every Wednesday night, Sunday morning; prayed before meals ect. Then one day it all just stopped, abruptly, and I never really found out why. Although my dad still holds the same beliefs and faith 🤔 (thinking now as an adult I should probably go ask him why lol sorry off topic...anyway) at the age of 14 major life events made me seek out the church on my own quickly regretting that decision and then at the age of 20 after being diagnosed with epilepsy and suffering hundred of seizures a week eventually I gave up on religion all together. Point is, Ive gone back and forth my entire life debating, arguing with, and contradicting myself as far as the whole religion, God, Jesus, bible, Christianity thing goes. So when I first began my practice anytime anything involving deities came up I felt kinda like if I went further into this subject I was somehow a fraud so to speak. Like I was just jumping on the bandwagon and not being true to myself. Not necessarily because of the whole Christianity thing just gods and goddesses in general- I struggle with my beliefs. Fast forward <20 years, I currently practice a daily gratitude ritual and give offerings to "the universe" I believe in angels, fairies, and spirits alike. I find synchronicities more often than I care to admit. I have met a few of my spirit guides and believe when I'm in desperate need of her, my grandmother communicates with me from another realm. I can sense strong emotions felt by others simply by standing in the same spot they stood while having said emotions. So although not "religious" so to speak I am definitely "spiritual" in a sense. Deciding recently that they are not one in the same and ignoring the naysayer voice inside me I have began down the rabbit hole of deities. But where do I start? Asked my husband to just name some deities he knows off the top of his head. And him being the super huge nerd he is, was able to list about 50 😂 so now just looking for... 1st Who are the go to "deities every witch should know" and 2nd Any and all advice on researching, working with, or just deity advice in general would be greatly appreciated!!
P.S. I have looked into Athena (as this is the name my transgender child chose for themselves) and Hecate (because ya know... Goddess of witchcraft- made sense)
Sorry and thanks for spending your time to read my rambling. Have a wonderful day/night/week/month/yealife ♥️
