I’m entering my 5th year teaching MS choir and I’ve just been offered a position as a head director with an assistant who is entering her 25th year.
I’m feeling incredible imposter syndrome to the point of irrational anxiety about it. I’ve had conversations with my colleagues who recognize that it’s an odd situation but have affirmed me that I have the skills needed.
How have you dealt with imposter syndrome?

So basically I'm a trucker, I run I 80 toll road a lot and normally park in the rest areas, but I hate walking into get food etc... So would you deliver to the truck on a rest stop or truck stop like that and do the businesses actually allow delivery on there property considering you ain't doing business with them? Hello all. So I’m a proud weird dad. My son is about to graduate high school. His quote in his yearbook is “ Dare to be Stupid”. He did an absolutely amazing job in school with a 4.3 and a list of a achievements.. But most importantly is who this kid is. Biggest heart and caring. Works at a retirement home.. on purpose! He’s going to the U of Minnesota for neurology. He keeps saying how he wants his chance to get in there to cure dementia and Alzheimer’s. …… Anyway, thank you for listening to that bit of background, I could go on all day….. Point of my post… I’m not super plugged in with social media, Reddit is about it. I would just beyond love to find a way to invite Al to his graduation party. He half joked about it the other day and the glow in his eyes. Al has meant a lot to him and I. Given us both confidence to be the odd fellows that we tend to be. At the end of next year, the graduating class (my class ;) is having a huge week-long trip. It’s a traditional thing that happens every year, same time and same place. However, the school suddenly made a weird announcement about the hotel rooms that we’d be using. While in previous years there was a limit of four people per regular-sized room, when we’re going there will be a limit of three (but two is also an option for $200 more) per suite. There’s two large beds and a fold-out couch in these suites, so 5 or 6 people should definitely be able to fit into a single room, especially if 4 were able to fit into a comparatively smaller room in years before.
Not only is this stupid conceptually, but it also causes monetary issues among quite a few people. While many who go to my school are fairly well off, this trip is still a massive expense that becomes even larger when the price of the new, bigger rooms is added, plus the fact that we can split the cost among a maximum of two others. Keep in mind as well that next year many of us will be heading off to college, so we need to save as much money as we possibly can. Plus, why give us bigger rooms if we’re not gonna be using 60% of their space?
This also brings up a social problem: many people have friend groups that are more than three people. Of course, there’s always the idea of rooming next to each other, but if you take into account things like curfew then it’s not really the same as properly sharing a room with your buddies. Because of this (and also partially the money aspect), a few friends of mine told me that they’re considering not going, because this new policy detracts so much from what is supposed to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
The reasons behind this change were never explained properly and seem utterly moronic to me, so I want to create a petition and have it signed by as many people in my class as possible. However, I don’t know how (or even if this is feasible/worth it). Should it be online, like on change.org, or on paper? Who do I present it to (student council, teachers, principal, counseloadvisor)? How do I spread the word? Should I start campaigning now, with only a week of school left, or should I wait until next year starts up? Can I get in trouble for this? I’m completely clueless going into it.
The room payments are due fairly late into next year, so I’ve got quite a bit of time to figure things out and maybe convince my school to make a change to the number of people allowed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am 5' 6" and have a 54cm old 2004ish Cervelo P2k I got when I first got into the sport. I want to upgrade to a newer bike, and many of the bikes that are within my price range and/or look appealing to me are all 56cm or 58cm. Are these too big or can I just upgrade and change the seat post, stem, and crank?
Never really upgraded a bike before so I am not sure how it all works. Would love to eventually build a bike but until then.

I have a portable air conditioner I'd like to use to cool my trailer. Any ideas on how let the hot air exit? It comes with a 6" flex hose. I tried blasting it through the existing trailer vents, but they restrict the airflow too much. I'm looking for ideas on how to allow the air to vent out without letting water in or having issues when pulling down the highway.
I'm currently looking at soffit vents, dryer vents, and marine use inspection ports. Not sure which will work best.

Even if you do fix your dead bedroom,
the fact still remains that your partner was okay with making you wait for so long. No matter what it is you did to fix this issue, the fact remains that, until then, they had let you get nothing, they wouldn't budge, they made you feel horrible, sometimes for years in some cases.
This also means that your current fixed bedroom could be hanging by a thread, as they could once again put you through another dead bedroom for who knows how long if a new problem should arise or if you don't constantly keep up with whatever new expectation they have of you. Because that is how much they care about intimacy and it might never be as important to them as it is to you.
It seems like the only options are to either deal with the fact that you are with someone who doesn't care as much about your desires or find someone who does and who will always act fast to solve these problems.

Sorry if you don’t like long reads, but this has been on my mind a while. Sorry about all the spacing too.
I wrote this in a really different context that kinda shifts around, perhaps you've never seen before.
I will not talk anymore about being alone with people who have never been alone before. It’s so redundant, they’ll never understand. I will only talk about it with people who are or have been alone.
Here are some of the common things I hear.
"Focus on yourself"--- Yeah, we all should at times, but for how long before going insane from being alone all the time. You can't focus on yourself ALL the time, we need to socialize to stay motivated. We don’t socialize, we crumple.
I know for some extroverted people who aren’t alone, socializing can be tiresome, but for us lonely people, we need it. It’s not desperation or co-dependency, it is a necessity.
"Exercise"--- Yes, but it doesn't fix the fact someone is alone. Personally, exercise is my only passion. It will forever be my passion. I'm not saying don't exercise, but it’s not a replacement for meaningful conversation. At the end of my workout, guess what, I have to go home, alone.
“Get therapy if you’re alone” What does that do exactly? Therapy does not solve your problems, it is for identifying your problems. Once your issue has been identified, advice is then given for those problems.
We have already identified the problem of being driven mad by being alone, so all that’s left is advice. This is where the therapist will give you bs advice and say the same thing, “work on yourself, go to the gym, go for a walk, practice mindfulness, ugh.
Sessions are one hour, once a week. Who to talk to until next week ?
Therapists aren’t really that alone either , they see and talk to people all day everyday, therefore, they won’t get it.
“Groups?” I don’t know what’s wrong with us, but we hate hearing that too, you know ? Should your social life be limited to only group meetings ? Once a week for about an hour ? What about the rest of the week ? Most of the people you meet you don’t really click with anyways.
And this is the problem, non-lonely people think there are replacements, but they'll never understand.
This has all gotten to the point where I don’t talk about being alone with anyone else at all, except if someone, like us, explicitly states that they are.
In case you’re wondering how I myself became so alone, it’s because I have lost my brother, my father, and 2 of my closest friends. The rest moved on. It hurts so much not being able to call my deceased friends anymore, or hear the phone ring.
I just wont talk about it anymore. We're already doing everything alone.
We’re tired of going for walks alone, we want to walk with someone !
We’re tired of going to the cinema alone, we want to watch a movie with someone !
We’re tired of playing instruments alone, we want to play with someone
We’re tired of weighted blankets to replicate someone, we want to hold someone!
We’re tired of doing everything alone, we want to do something with some one !
And or some odd reason, maybe I’m wrong, but I sense that most of us lonely folk have a physical touch love language. Yeah ? Like damn, I’m about to cry.
Our hearts bleed to be in love with someone. Stop invalidating that by saying, " you need to love yourself first." We do, otherwise we wouldn't have taken the time to identify what we want.
Or to hear, "Oh that wont help you, relationships are a lot of arguing and financial BS." For the folks that say that, I sense you’re not with the most compatible person you’d like to be with, no offense.
For some of us, learning to be alone is a skill we have learned and mastered, we have identified our selves and what we want, but enough is enough.
OK, I’m done, this was more of a rant I suppose.

I know, a lot of them can't help it, they don't all offend, but let's disregard those people for now, the so-called "good" ones, who get chemically castrated and therapy and never act on their thoughts, which, in an ideal world, would be all of them. Let's be real, though. It wouldn't be a demographic of people that is hated and ridiculed if it wasn't for all the ones who DID and those who will STILL offend, if we didn't all have some experience or another with a pedophile, possibly without even knowing it. I've always been hyper-aware of it, ever since I started developing early, that's when I noticed grown men holding their stare a little longer, smiling a bit too friendly. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt in my mind, and I was very naive, but if I think about it, I've had far too many experiences on omegle and Facebook, from anonymous accounts, of guys who had no shame of telling me what they thought about 12 year old me. Of course they say this without revealing their names or faces, they know what they are doing is wrong, but they get off on exposing their victims against their will to their sick fantasies. As a kid, I just thought it was funny and a bit gross, and also really annoying, I didn't realize how obvious it was that I was a child, or that there was more meaning to those guys jacking off as soon as they saw me on the other end. I thought I looked mature for my age, I liked to think maybe I looked a bit older, because there was a lot of cute guys on there, guys my age or a bit older, but I was always too young for those guys. Most teenage guys wanted to date teenage girls, but for those older adult males, I was their prime age range. Now that I'm older and more realistic and jaded and now that I know better, now that I know how disgusting people my age can be, it makes me wonder how many of these freaks are walking among us, breathing our air, living next door to us. I thought that looking young or being a kid would make guys NOT want to talk to me or bother me in public, but actually, it's like they are excited at thinking I'm a teen, and then get disappointed to realize I'm a grown woman and I'm not falling for their shit. Or there's the guys who don't feel guilty about sexualising me because I'm 'fair game', so they don't have to feel bad about themselves since they aren't technically committing a crime, as if that's what it means to be a good and virtuous person, to just follow the law, never mind if our actions or beliefs aren't virtuous or moral. Humans are rotten. Not all of us, of course, but the ones who are, are poisoning the well. The world isn't a safe place, we can't even trust our own families, since relatives are more likely to molest a child than a stranger.

I know most of you are GEICO Employees, and I’m sorry for intruding on your story ace to vent/ talk shop with others but I have some questions.
GEICO found me not at fault for an accident that occurred last week on Thursday, (I am okay!) a lady turned right on red and my way was clear, but her insurance (Farmers) found me at fault, they came back within an hour of me giving a recorded statement with no pictures of my car or the police report and they sided with their driver. (Y’all have been extremely nice to me. Thank you!)
GEICO is now having to fight Farmers for my deductible and my hospital bills. Let me also say that the other involved party refused to give GEICO a recorded statement and told GEICO to get the statement from Farmers. Will this work in my favor? Also, do you know how long this takes before I will hear anything about this?
Also, I did the photo estimate and my adjuster came back with an extremely low price. My auto body shop will be submitting supplemental claims, just the outside damage is $2700, my auto body shop told me there’s more damage underneath that would be additional $2500 and there’s some engine/transmission damage because when the car is put into reverse it makes a grinding/vibrating sound, but my car drives fine otherwise. They won’t total my car will they?
