I've been dating my girlfriend for 3 years and we are living together for almost 2 years now, we are both 29yo and have no kids. Live in the city of Amsterdam.
When I go to a friend and have a few drink ( sometimes 2 or 3, not more than 6 ever again), my girlfriend anticipates that I am out and when I come home when she is already in bed ( she usually goes to bed around 22:00 ) somewhere around 24:00, she is not able to fall asleep and has a bad night. The next morning we talk about it, she tears up out of frustration. She always explains me that it is not me she is frustrated with and wants me to be able to go out, but she just is wide awake when she knows I am out having a drink or two. It's also not jealousy or fear that I do something, in that sense we trust each other.
I have been drunk home a few times in the first year of being together and she didn't like that. She just mentioned that she is afraid that will happen again. I assured her it will not, and I commit to that. In fact, I want to make sure I take care of my health as well. But I can't help but shake the feeling that my "freedom" is taken away by laying restrictions on myself because of her inability when I'm out.
She has been to a therapist for Cognitive behavioural therapy and has had a few sessions of EMDR based on me coming home drunk. All this hasn't changed anything unfortunately.
She says that she doesn't know where this is coming from and what to do about it. I didn't drink for a month last month and was completely fine with it and will reduce my alcohol intake anyways, but I just want to be able to see friends and have a beer or two and come home around 11 or heck even 1 am if I want to in a blue moon without my girlfriend laying awake all night.
I would love to hear what else we can try to solve this? Anything that could be helpful is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Hi redditors, Thanks to many of your suggestions and helpful comments, I have just passed the Transportation depth on my first try. I want to motivate anyone who is preparing for this test by sharing my experiences. I will be super humbled if anyone is helped from my experience. 1. Prep course: I read related posts in this forum and found EET as the most popular for Transportation and WRE depths. Rightfully so, Samir and Nazrul are very skilled in teaching. There are enough concepts (overwhelming sometimes) to prepare you for all topics in the exam. Even if I failed, I would still be grateful to them for the knowledge I learned throughout this course.
I was very inconsistent with study. It's hard to dedicate 2 hrs per weekday and 8-hr on weekends. I tried multiple times to follow routine but failed terribly with family and job requirements. So this strategy didn't work for me. So, I scheduled the exam 4 months beforehand. Still I couldn't study on the weekdays due to exhausting consulting job. Weekends passed by family duties and chores
So, I took a 3-week PTO and finished all remaining lectures. And started solving practice problems in EET binder, then NCEES practice exams, then Path to PE service exam. I was getting 54-58/80. So I took the test.
It took me 4 hrs 5 minutes to finish first 40 questions. I got 35 Breadth problems and was surprised to see 5 depth problems before my break. Anyway, I made educated guess on 11 Breadth problems and was feeling down during my 50-minute scheduled break.
Finally, the depth portion was pretty straightforward. There were mostly one or two-step calculations straight from different tables......SSD, HSO, ISD, MUTCD warrants, signal timing, LOS etc etc. I felt very confident for depth because I could find all answers right where I searched. So, I request everyone to familiarize with the chapters. I guessed 3 questions in the depth.

- Strategy: There are 18 topics. My suggestion is: rank all topics by number of questions and make a weighted schedule of your time. In total, EET has grouped the topics in 11 full-day lectures, so I would say you need at least 1128 ~ 180 hours to understand the concepts and practice related problems.

- Practice:
- Please please save a FULL DAY to just scroll through the Reference Handbook before the exam. It will be magical for your mind. Subconsciously, you will develop a mind map and know which questions would be located where. There are endless possibilities to create questions from the handbook.
- Then, get yourself familiar with specific chapters from AASHTO Greenbook, HCM, MUTCD, RDG, HSM, AASHTO 1993 and MEPDG in this order. Again, always fact-check your solution by searching through the manuals. This practice will remove any nervousness on the exam day and boost your confidence.
- Exam day experience:

- Conclusion: I feel lucky that I passed. I still do not know most of the topics well. I just practiced 'more' frequent problems. It does not automatically make me a 'better' engineer. It's a humbling experience, and I feel massive respect towards all fellow engineers who go through this. I understand that many engineers try multiple times to pass it. As disheartening as it is, please understand that this is only a test to get you some 'permission to practice'. Civil Engineering is a profession of experience and skill. No matter how talented we are, real-life problem solving in Civil Engineering projects require experience and skills (sometimes sheer hard work) more than talent.

2023.05.31 16:55 milkywayforblood Struggling with motivation, new to vyvanse. I am supposed to be on summer vacation but took summer classes instead and can't switch gears.
I think my problem boils down to my yearly schedule. I am in my last semester of college and normally I'm on summer vacation right now and my usual summer consists of catching up on sleep and taking 1 small vacation with no daily schedule except 40 hours of work per week from May to August.
Instead I thought it would be a good idea to take summer classes and finish by August 4th, take an August graduation vacation, start applying for jobs when I get back, and do the graduation walk in december so I can avoid spring grad traffic.
Now the day has come to start internship and I am super dead inside when I need to be a bubbly go getter. I finally pinpointed the feeling that I am SUPPOSED to be on vacation. I don't feel like doing school right now! I have only 10 weeks of it and I was accepted into my 2nd internship and had the interview yesterday, starting today at 11 am (currently 9:30 am and have 0 motivation or work ethic to even get ready right now). I got two weeks off of school and can't deal with such a short break. My body is fighting my good idea to graduate early. My body wants rest!!!
Another thought I had that might be causing it is I'm on birth control but still track my nonexistent cycle, so I should have just ovulated (didn't because of birth control) and was thinking maybe that is where my lack of motivation came from? Idk! These past 2 weeks and especially since Monday, I have done nothing. I nap on and off all day when I'm not at work. I do the basic minimum chores to get by and that is a struggle to achieve. Yesterday, I had an interview and was totally dead from that all day. I feel so tired. I took my temperature thinking maybe I was sick, but it was only 99.5 (I don't even think that counts as a fever does it??)
So I started 20 mg vyvanse the other day and day 1 was "kind of" speedy. Nothing like Adderall, which gives me pure motivation with a side of anxiety and a hatred for food (that's why I never liked it much). Vyvanse I can eat and I feel energy there but I also feel calm and quiet and i keep basking in the calm... on my bed... doing nothing. I KNOW I have stuff to do. But i have 0 motivation to start anything AT ALL. It really sucks and it's stressing my boyfriend out! (He is a doer and me not being able to DO is causing him anxiety as he watches me approach these huge deadlines.)
Tbh I skipped my first class yesterday... i keep telling myself missing syllabus day is nbd don't beat yourself up. But today is internship day 1. And.... idk if I'm gonna make it to the facility to put in hours!!! I feel like skipping today and sleeping. But I have done that EVERY DAY to the point that I quit my second job Friday because I just had 0 motivation. Like wtf self???? (The job wasn't coughing up paychecks like I needed so wasn't worth it ... but still!!!)
I know medication doesn't = motivation. I am severely lacking in motivation rn. I kind of want to go back to Adderall because it simply gave me motivation. But there's the shortage too. Maybe my vyvanse is too low because 20 mg vyvanse IS super low (boyfriend confirmed that online it says 20 mg is below starting dose even). But I paid over $300 for the bottle and can't supply more $$$ for a 2nd bottle of a higher dose. I was hoping my doc could bump me to 40 so I can just keep this bottle and take 2 - 20s...
I didn't want to make this post because I knew it would be a whole lotta nothin but I thought I would try. I can't tell if I even got what I am feeling down. I keep rereading it and I feel like I am searching for words that are just not coming to me. I feel like I need a break. I thought vyvanse would work like Adderall but less side effects. Without further ado… The ConceptI do love LoR and have been playing since launch, however my interest has waned in recent months with certain frustrating metas (Azirelia, Kai’Sa, Bandle City, and Bard to name a few). More importantly, I’m a ‘Vorthos’ player above all and I love the world Riot has been developing through LoR cards, so hyper-competitive metas have never been my bag. I’m more about making decks that are thematic/fun to play, so it’s a pain always hitting the same super-optimised decks over and over again in matchmaking.I recently got into Magic: The Gathering’s Commander EDH format and was instantly hooked. Issues with WoTC as a company aside, the format is probably the only way I can enjoy MtG’s core gameplay as the sheer variety from a 100-card singleton deck can’t be beaten and balances out the limitations of the lands-as-mana system. So this got me thinking – what if I could combine my favourite aspects from Commander with LoR to make it translate to the physical tabletop? Some people have tried already to make LoR work in a paper format, but struggled mostly down to the number of digital-first mechanics that wouldn’t translate well: · RNG (Make it Rain, Traps/Boons) · Keyword generation (Viktor upgrades, Pantheon, The Arsenal) · Non-specific created card pools (Ferros Financier, Conchologist) · No ‘graveyard’ as such · Champion spell-swapping and level-up tracking · Persistent damage Some of these definitely wouldn’t work on paper, however, if playing MtG has taught me anything, it’s that some mechanics are completely possible, even if they’re a bit unwieldy. · Persistent stats/damage – MtG uses +1/+1 counter mechanics all the time (tracked with physical counters or dice), and no matter how many card game design threads tell newbie TCG designers to avoid counters, the biggest card game in the world uses them so I think players can handle it… · Created cards – MtG also utilises Token creatures and I’ve found it’s no problem to have a stack of token cards on hand when playing just in case · The biggest case I can make for LoR in tabletop is that there is NO board limit in MtG, meaning in a Commander game, players could end up with 10+ creatures on board all with counters and dice stacked on top to track stats – it’s ridiculous but it’s manageable The biggest lightbulb moment for me is in Commander’s signature mechanic – the Command Zone. For those that don’t know, a Commander is what determines your deck’s colour composition in MtG – it’s any ‘Legendary’ creature in the game, which exists outside your main deck in a special zone. You can play it at any time you can afford the mana cost, and when it dies, it can be returned to the Command Zone at a stacking tax of 2 extra mana the next time you want to summon it. Aside from dictating which colours you can include in your deck, Commanders often form the synergistic backbone of your deck’s strategy, which in a selection of 99 single cards from ANY set in Magic’s history can involve some really unique interactions and combos. With this in mind, I’d like to now introduce my proposal for a tabletop-friendly ruleset for Legends of Runeterra: The RulesWhat’s the same:1) Your deck consists of 40 cards chosen from among 2 different regions (or the card pools specified by the Origins of Runeterra Champions). 2) Play goes back and forth, with players taking turns to play cards or declare attacks, and the Attack Token swapping between players each round. 3) Each round start, players gain 1 Mana Gem (physical card that is turned 90 degrees like land in MtG), up to a maximum of 10 – at round end, any unspent mana is converted into Spell Mana (maximum of 3) that can be used for spells or Equipment only. 4) In the basic format, players have a Nedus with 20 health, and when this is reduced to 0, they lose the game. If a player ever tries to draw a card from their deck at round start ut has no cards left, they lose the game. 5) Damage is persistent across units, which is tracked through either dice or counters – when a unit’s health reaches 0, it is killed and removed from play into a discard pile (where all killed/destroyed/played/discarded cards go) 6) Created cards are obliterated (removed from the game) when they leave play 7) Most keywords work the same and can be tracked with tokens if granted/given (especially for negative effects such as Vulnerable/Frostbite) What’s New: 1) Champions now exist outside of your deck in the ‘Base’ – this evokes League of Legends and the Command Zone from MtG a. You can only have 1 copy of a Champion in your base, and up to 2 different Champions based on your chosen regions/origins. b. Each Champion has 2 sides for their Level 1 and 2 forms, with Level 3 (Ascended) forms coming as separate cards. c. Level-up progress can be tracked using counters below your Base area – when Champions level you flip them to their Level 2 side and no longer need to track. d. Each Champion’s signature/champion spell is a single card placed beneath the champ, and can only be played when the champion is itself in play. e. When a Champion dies and is returned to the Base, you cannot play it again that turn. When you play a Champion spell, you cannot play it again in the same turn. f. Each time you summon a Champion, you grow your ‘Respawn Tax’ by 1 – if this increases past your Champion’s cost, you must pay the difference in extra mana – since all Champs can now be played exactly on curve, this is specifically to limit how often players can play low-costed champs in a game so there is still some strategy to when you summon them. [i.e. Example: You summon Zoe turn 1, her Respawn goes to 1, then she dies and you summon again the following turn, Respawn goes to 2. When she dies again, she will now cost 2 mana.] g. A Champion can be recalled into your hand, which means they can be played as normal (this can be a work-around for the Respawn Tax), or sent to your ‘discard’ to be revived by a card effect. h. If you wish to include 3 Champions in your Base, they must ALL be from the same region and you must have only cards from that region in your deck (this is to allow mono-region combos like Sun Disc). i. IF you want to include other Champions outside of these restrictions, you can include them in your main deck as a 1-of, which acts essentially like a follower and cannot level up or have a signature spell (but is still counted as a Champion) - this rule needs some work I think… 2) Fleeting cards now exist in an area beside your deck, similar to exiled cards in MtG – they don’t contribute to your maximum hand size of 10 and are sent to the discard pile at round end. This is to make their ‘fleeting’ status easy to track for all players. 3) Invoke still pulls from a limited set of Celestial cards, but you can now only have 1 copy of a Celestial in hand/play at a time (this is to limit having multiple copies of every Celestial printed and is thematic to the idea that you’re borrowing the power of specific Aspects) – to compensate, some of the cards have been buffed. 4) Allegiance effects require players to reveal the top card of their deck and check for its region. 5) Predict takes the bottom 3 cards of your deck, and once you’ve made your choice, the other cards are shuffled back into the deck and the chosen one placed on top. 6) Lurk is tracked outside the deck using an ‘Emblem’ card you can place counters on to track the current Power buff – when Lurking, reveal the top card of your deck to check for Lurk. 7) Daybreak/Nightfall, Reputation, Flow, and other threshold effects are tracked with ‘Emblem’ cards too. 8) Most cost-reduction effects are now temporary/conditional so there’s no need to track whether a specific card in hand has a reduced cost. 9) Hand/deck buffs are now removed and replaced by ‘grant the next unit you summon’ type effects. 10) Boons/Traps are removed for now and need to be reworked… 11) Coins still stack in hand, but specify in the effect how they should be spent. 12) Landmarks are now played in a separate row below your units – up to 6 mad – this is to incentivise greater use of landmarks in general decks since they no longer fill a unit slot on the board and work like Enchantments in MtG (countdown effects can be tracked using dice). 13) Players can have a sideboard from which they can swap some cards between games – this is more of a play format thing. To preface, I have never played this game before. I've watched shows like the Unexpectables and Critical Role, which influenced me to eventually buy a bunch of the books, but I've never played the game.
I like rolling dice. I like the clickity clacks that they make. I also like randomness, so I like to make characters via purely dice rolls and see how they come out.
Sometimes this results in a combination that I particularly like, even if the stats are terrible.

"Living in a nation at war, Dobrokov was a chef in the mess hall of the military encampments. He quickly rose through the hierarchy with his skills, and ended up being commended with the title of Warchef. After the war was over, he was invited to serve as a chef within the king's palace. However, about a year later, a coup occurred, and the good king was assassinated and replaced by his terrible, tyrannical nephew. He demanded loyalty and fealty from all in the kingdom, but Dobrokov refused. For this, the hateful king demanded Dobrokov's execution. He escaped into the night, fleeing far, far away from the kingdom that wishes to hunt him down for treason. Now he travels across the realm from town to town, and always gives a feast to everyone, from the poor and orphaned to the wealthy and well off, before he leaves, as a payment for their hospitality.”
Dobrokov's race, class, subclass, stats, Background, defining event (for Folk Hero), personality, ideals, bonds, and flaws, and proficiencies were all done via dice roll. The stats were 4d6 (keep highest three) and started at Strength and went down to Charisma. The only things that weren't randomized are the spells he knows and his equipment.

For the rolls that have 13 choices, I’d roll a d12 and d20. The d20 would determine if the d12 stayed the same (1-10) or increased by +1 (11-20).
Spell choices:
Firebolt - A damaging spell that can also be used to start a cooking fire.
Prestidigitation - Can also light a torch for a cooking fire, snuff out a fire, or make the food smell better.
Message - To send a message to someone across a crowded mess hall without raising your voice.
Tenser's Floating Disk - Hopefully can be used as either a moving prep area for food , a banquet table or magical dining table. No one likes to eat without a table. I don't know if it can actually be used in this way.
Comprehend Languages - To decipher recipes from other cultures
Grease - Any problem can be solved if you start with a liberal application of grease.
Shield - Wizards need to be able to defend themselves somehow.
Identify - Just a useful spell overall.
Sleep - Eating a lot of good food can make you sleepy, so I thought this would be applicable.
Maybe someday I'd be able to use him, but I just really like this elephant chef, and I wanted to share him with all of you.

When i broke up i just kind of left, so i regretted it instantly and realized i didnt communicate properly that he was hurting me with his behaviour and my ex is was always really nice except for when we fought. Thinking about the fights now i realize most of them were initiated by me because i couldnt communicate properly and he reacted badly to me being upset. Well, after breaking up, i contacted him to solve thing, but because i was hurt, i blamed him for everything and told him he has anger issues and that i want an apology. For one month i tried to get back together but he was ignoring my text or responding after a day with a short text saying he didnt nothing wrong and then i found out he has a new gf.
It's been 11 months since then and since i found out about his gf my ex kept in contact with me one way or another. At first he told me he was happy with her, that she is incredibile and appreciates and respects him. Then after a few months he started teling me he loves me still, that i was always the one, all while flaunting his new gf on social media. He would tell me he loves me, and then stop responding to my texts. I (25 F) broke up with my (35M) after a 3 years relationship because i felt like he didnt love me anymore, because of how he was reacting during fights, screaming, slamming doors, making me cry and feel guilty for being upset at him. When i broke up i just kind of left, so i regretted it instantly and realized i didnt communicate properly that he was hurting me with his behaviour and my ex is was always really nice except for when we fought. Thinking about the fights now i realize most of them were initiated by me because i couldnt communicate properly and he reacted badly to me being upset. Well, after breaking up, i contacted him to solve thing, but because i was hurt, i blamed him for everything and told him he has anger issues and that i want an apology. For one month i tried to get back together but he was ignoring my text or responding after a day with a short text saying he didnt nothing wrong and then i found out he has a new gf.
It's been 11 months since then and since i found out about his gf my ex kept in contact with me one way or another. At first he told me he was happy with her, that she is incredibile and appreciates and respects him. Then after a few months he started teling me he loves me still, that i was always the one, all while flaunting his new gf on social media. He would tell me he loves me, and then stop responding to my texts. Or call me saying how he doesnt love his new gf even though she treats him well and is nice, or how he ll feel like this with every women because they are not me. Another month is close to its end, and the next one is going to be exciting because Wot Blitz birthday is coming. It takes place on 26th June but activities are scheduled throughout the month.
As usual, I am gonna include all shop deals about tanks from tier V and above. u/innoswimmer as usual has updated the subreddit daily, while u/HeskaModz has posted some deals on the Chinese and Russian version of Wot blitz so I am gonna link the posts he made this month at the end of the post.
