I've been using Zenni since 2008. Loved their prices since they were the only ones in that space. Fast forward to 2023 and they have absolute shit for brains and HORRIBLE customer service and there are many other online low cost options.

I tried to get custom engraving of a phrase for my glasses. It's my slogan for all of my online gaming channels. It kept getting blocked saying it was trademarked. I messed around and finally figured out it's one particular word, "git." By the way, it's not trademarked as the uspto.gov website clearly says that you can't trademark a word by itself.
I called to ask them to review this. Stupid customer service agent kept repeating herself talking over me saying some nonsense about "it's trademarked we can't do anything about it." I asked to speak with supervisor THREE times, she kept talking over me until I snapped and put her ass in her place so she hung up on me.
Called back to complain about being hung on and asked for another supervisor. None available. I offered to wait. Was told no. Asked for a call back, told 1-2 hours for call. 3.5 hours later when I was busy I got a voicemail telling me there was nothing that could be since it was trademarked and no return number to call direct.
Sent tweet, told via dm it was trademarked. I asked for call back so I could clearly show them it's not trademarked. No call.
Sent email to Brian Kershon, head of customer engagement, no response.
Called again, finally got supervisor.
I clearly and kindly explained the following and I walked them through the government website:
I responded back with a picture of the definition as listed on Merriam Webster. No response. I posted screenshots on Twitter directed to Zenni.
Tried calling them today. Couldn't get through after sitting on hold for 30 minutes. By the way, I figured out there is literally no way to get through their phone tree without pressing a button; it doesn't send you through automatically if you don't press a button. This is in violation of FTC Section 255. I just filed a complaint with the FTC and posted that on Twitter as well because that's just how petty I am with morons.
Obviously I'm done with them.
Now, instead of spending over $500 on two frames with all the extras such as the top of the line Transitions, I'm just going to buy their frames with no Rx and have another company do all the work.
Anyone who wants to do the same I found another highly reviewed company called "lensabl" who can take my frames and add transition lenses that end up being about $60 less than Zenni after using their promo code even with shipping. I also found it cool that they have a subscription plan for $8 a month that includes one frame with lenses per year and 25% off all purchases. Plus they have ridiculously cheap optional 12 month insurance to replace the lenses if they scratches on them.
The engraving? I'm going to send my frames to wherelight.com. I called them to ask about the engraving and they literally laughed when I told them what was happening with Zenni.
Zenni, if you ever see this, you can kiss my ass. Your leadership teams involved with this are unequivocally morons without a single brain cell. There are hamster wheels running their their brains. My left nut has a higher IQ than your staff.

- Showed them how my first and last initial are actually trademarked and yet their system accepts that for engraving and logically you can't block someone from engraving their own name đ¤Śââď¸
- Told them that just to show how ignorant this is that I literally (I really did this by the way) filed a trademark application for the phrase that included "git" and I already received response that that is initially an available phrase and they would review my application. Yes, I like to make a point with a sledgehammer when it's needed.

Had an issue a few months ago pulling into a parking spot where the car stopped, engine and battery light came on. Tried the gas and the car wouldnât move. The beginning of this chapter is pretty action-packed as we see a single man completely handling a pack of agents. It is done so masterfully that we could mistake it for Twilight, but no, we learn that his name is Winston Wheeler from the communications division. He brings a stubble and a haircut, resembling a dumpling. Apparently, he was a deep cover operative from Ostania's intelligence, so Wise heavily suspects him to have been behind the recent leaks. Since we saw him in action, the readers are pretty damn certain that he is the one. Now that I think about it, Endo doesn't hide identities for long, he relies more on dramatic irony in his story.

Loid recognizes the competence of the double W agent, and his wording suggests that he might be on his level, or at the very least, close to it. A rumour says that he plans to meet the SSS at a hotel in Shellbury. Then, Twilight links this information with Yuri going away suddenly in the last chapter. Fiona takes a rather pessimistic stance and suggests to stop every operations in the East, including Operation Strix. Through me reading this chapter again; it is just a very subtle way to tell Loid to leave Yor, that is why she apologizes in the next page and why Loid judges it as ridiculous. It is easy to miss but I prefer those little jabs rather than her constantly saying that she should be his wife, it makes it feel more realistic because she lost that tennis match and know that she is not strong enough.

So anyway, they arrive at Shellbury in Ostania. I really hope that we randomly see a Desmond while they are recovering the precious file, just to show us that the characters move when the plot is not focused on them, in other words, proper worldbuilding.
Yuri and his team, which consists of his longtime buddy and the woman from the last chapter who had such an awesome design that I PRAYED for her to be here, are making their moves in Ostania, akin to Twlight and his team.

The interesting part is that the director looks personally involved to make sure that this part of the mission is respected. Such high-ranking individual certainly has bigger cats to feed, don't you agree ?Well, whatever his reasons are, what we know is that this is the best time for them to catch Twilight. One more thing,
there was one very confusing panel with one of Yuri's male co-worker. I asked RAFaron about it, and he told me that the direct translation would be that the operation that they are doing which is extracting Winston is unauthorized, but the director gave them the job still. I find it interesting to see that they possess this level of trust with the director-- and I'm sorry, but there is probably some corruption stuff going on, or some war-fueling information.
With that said, I'm pretty sure Twilight and Yuri will happen. There seems to be a comparison between them based on the trust that is given to them by their respective organization.
In page eleven, the team is preparing their entry to the country. Red 2 is the driver; Red 3 is Fiona, where she has to cooperate with the blue team in order to spy on Wheeler and his file. Red 4 is the passenger and will be a backup; Red 1 is Loid and he has the monumental task of stalling the SSS. If we think about it, it would mean for him to use his inventivity while constantly being on the edge of being unmasked by Yuri. I can only imagine the tension! This is certainly promising!

Indeed, not only does he responds with "Roger That", but if we look at Page 11 and 12, they seem to be staring at each other like they are in direct confrontation. Plus, Winston, being clean shaven makes him look like Loid with a quick glance. And I don't need to mention the fact that he is looking downwards while Twilight is looking upwards; Wheeler regards Loid in contempt, while the latter recognizes his superior skills-- after all, he was able to deceive the spy for so long. Tatsuya Endo already put massive emphasis in his talent, so it is safe to say that he will focus on both of them heavily in this arc.

In the next page, agent Wheeler immediately recognizes Fiona's disguise as odd, walks down his building from which he was spying, and joins Yuri, who gets startled by his presence. Judging by the language that he used when talking to the youngster, he has been doing this line of work for a quite a long time. Briar, unsure about his identity, settled when he saw a Gemstone tiepin on a green tie. It felt odd to me at first that this was enough to convince him, however, Winston Wheeler gives me the impression that he improvises most of his plans in order to remain hidden. Just right here, he told the brother to meet him in the park in some thirthy minutes.

In another point of view, at a cafe, Fiona and the once-driver wonders why Winston doesn't show himself just yet, not knowing that they were outsmarted from the get-go.
Already in the park, a mysterious individual, who I assume is the director, happily welcomes the deceiver.

So far, he has been up every problem that he has encountered. It is so great to see a competent antagonist who seems to be on a par with Loid. This again is a very good chapter, and let's hope it stays on that path.

So far, he has been up every problem that he has encountered. It is so great to see a competent antagonist who seems to be on a par with Loid. This again is a very good chapter, and let's hope it stays on that path.

Right now Iâm looking at a Mazda CX-50 Preferred Plus in white, theyâre going to add in a tinted bra as well (I did ask for this) and out the door (taxes/fees and everything already included) is $35k financed at 4.9% APR with me putting $2k down. Iâve done a good bit of research and financial planning and know that this price is something I can readily afford and I really like the car, I guess since Iâve just never made such a large, long term purchase like this I want to make sure Iâm not missing something. The next morning, Kokichi trudged out of his room. He heard excited talking in the living room, so he decided to see what was going on. Everyone had crowded around Himiko, telling her how different she looked. Kokichi noticed that Sonia was there, as well.
"Himiko's hair really nice!" Gonta exclaimed.
"Why did you decide to go with black hair again?" Maki asked.
"Nyeh...I liked it so much last time that I just wanted to do it again," Himiko replied. "Besides, it makes me feel more...mysteriooouuusss."
"You definitely look great, Himiko!" Shuichi said.
"Yes, perhaps you have found your new look," Sonia said with a happy smile. "I think it gives you a more...gothic appearance, which is totes awesome!"
"Oh, my! I never thought of it like that!" Himiko said. "Maybe we should be goth girls, Sonia!" Sonia's grin became wider with excitement.
"Oh, yes! We can become...queens of the night!" she said.
"Hee-hee...I like that!" Himiko giggled. Kokichi felt his heart drop.
"Let's go to the mall, already!" Tenko said impatiently. "We gotta get there before the free stuff goes away!"
"Right!" Himiko and Sonia said at the same time. Then, they smiled and pointed at each other. "Jinx!" they said before bursting out into giggle fits.
"You girls have a great time," Rantaro said, waving goodbye. Kokichi rushed back to the boys hallway and peaked from behind the wall as he watched Himiko, Sonia, and Tenko leave. His shoulders dropped with sadness.
"She didn't even notice me," he muttered despondently. Tears stung his eyes as he rushed to his room and quickly closed the door. He slid down the door and covered his face. "Stop crying," he growled to himself. "This is your fault! This is what you deserve!" He aggressively wiped his tears from his face. But no matter how much he wiped the tears away, they kept streaming from his eyes. Finally, he hung his head and allowed himself to cry.
Outside of Casa V3, Himiko, Sonia, and Tenko were walking along the sidewalk, when suddenly, Himiko realized she forgot something.
"What's wrong, Himiko?" Tenko asked as she and Sonia watched Himiko search her body.
"Nyeh...I forgot my purse," Himiko replied. "You guys go on ahead, I'll go get it."
"Are you sure, Himiko?" Sonia asked.
"Yeah, I'll be right back!" Himiko called back to them as she dashed off. She rushed back inside and up to her room. "Nyeh...where did I put it?!" she exclaimed. She opened one of her desk drawers and found her small black purse inside. "Ah! There it is!" she reached for it, but something made her stop abruptly: Kokichi's yo-yo. She picked it up and stared at it quizzically, wondering why it was still there when she had given it back to Kokichi. She also remembered the strange way he had been acting the night before after she had come back from the mall. Suddenly, she realized what day it was.
"Oh, no!" she said, standing up. She put the yo-yo in her pocket and slung her purse over her shoulder before rushing downstairs towards Kokichi and Gonta's room, but paused before knocking on the door. She sighed, thinking how much of a jerk she was for forgetting her and Kokichi's rom-com movie day. She realized that the reason why he was acting unlike his usual self was because he must have been feeling left out, but he didn't want her to know how he felt. Himiko sighed.
"Nyeh...poor Kokichi," she whispered softly. Then, a look of determination crossed her face. She turned and marched briskly down the hallway and exited the house. She quickened her pace to catch up with Tenko and Sonia. "Um...Sonia? Tenko?" she said. Sonia and Tenko turned to face her.
"What's wrong, Himiko?" Tenko asked. Himiko paused to catch her breath.
"Nyeh...you two should go on without me," Himiko said. Sonia and Tenko looked perplexed.
"Why, Himiko?" Sonia asked.
"I have something more important to do," Himiko responded.
"More important?! Like what?!" Tenko exclaimed.

He was about to drift off to sleep, when he heard a knock on his bedroom door. He sighed heavily as he stood up to go open it. When he did, he felt a sudden surge of surprise and delight jolt through his body seeing Himiko. She was holding many shopping bags in her hands.
"Himiko!" he said before turning his head away so she wouldn't see his eyes. "What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be with Sonia?"
"Nyeh...aren't you and I supposed to be at the movies?" Himiko asked with a smile. Kokichi's eyes widened. He couldn't contain the small smile that made its way onto his face. But then he rubbed his arm uncomfortably.
"Himiko, you don't really have to-" he began.
"Kokichi, we need to talk," Himiko interrupted, staring him in the eye. Kokichi stared back at her for a few moments before nodding.
"M'kay," he said, moving aside to allow her in. Kokichi closed the door behind him. Himiko placed the shopping bags onto his bed, then patted the space next to her for him to sit down. "What did you wanna talk about?" he asked.
"Nyeh...you were crying just now, weren't you?" Himiko asked softly.
"Well...no, I was just-" Kokichi began, shaking his head. Himiko gently held his face.
"Kokichi..." she said firmly, looking him in the eye. Kokichi abashedly closed his eyes and sighed.

"Because of me hanging out with Sonia, right?" Himiko continued. "And you thought I had forgotten about you, right?"
"Yeah..." Kokichi answered. "I'm sorry, Himiko."

"Because...you were so happy being with Sonia," Kokichi explained. "I didn't want to ruin that for you. And, plus, I guess that's what I get for not going with you to DeepBlueSea World. It's my fault."
"No, that's wrong!" Himiko said. "It's not your fault, Kokichi. It's mine."
"How is it your fault?" Kokichi asked.
"Because...you and I had already planned to do things together yesterday and today, and I skipped out on it," Himiko explained.
"Because I told you to," Kokichi pointed out.
"It doesn't matter," Himiko insisted. "We made plans together, and I should have stuck with it." Kokichi gave her a skeptical look and shrugged his shoulders.
"Well...maybe we're both to blame," he mumbled. "I shouldn't have told you to go with Sonia if I really didn't want you to go with her." Himiko put a comforting hand on his arm.
"Kokichi...when something is bothering you, you need to tell me," she said in a kind, but firm voice.
"I just wanted you to be-" Kokichi started.
"Happy...I know," Himiko interrupted. "But I want you to be happy, too! Your happiness is just as important to me as mine is to you, okay?"
"Okay," Kokichi nodded with a small smile.
"Next time, you'd better tell me if something is bothering you," Himiko said in an authoritative voice. "I'm your supreme lady. And you're my supreme leader. We need to be able to configure in each other." Kokichi let out a small chuckle and rolled his eyes.
"Confide," he corrected.
"Oh...well, you know what I meant," Himiko mumbled sheepishly. Kokichi smiled at her.
"Yeah, I do," he said. "But...you're right. I'm sorry, Himiko." Himiko smiled and wrapped her arms around him.
"Nyeh...I'm sorry, too," she said. Kokichi wrapped his arms around her, as well, and smiled before giving each other a kiss. "By the way...here's your yo-yo," Himiko said, pulling out Kokichi's yo-yo from her pocket and handing it to him.
"Oh, thanks, Himiko," Kokichi replied with a grateful smile, taking it.
"You're welcome," Himiko said. "Keep it with you. You can't cause mischief without it." She gave him a flirty wink, causing Kokichi to chuckle and blush a little. She then gave him a sassy smile. "Now that all that mushy stuff is out of the way, I've got a surprise for you!"
"Ooo! What is it?!" Kokichi asked, coming back to his usual happy-go-lucky self. Himiko opened the shopping bags.
"I got us our snacks!" she said. Kokichi's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree.
"No way!!" he exclaimed. "You got more Grape Boo-Boo Bops! Ooo! And you got the little chocolate cupcake thingies! Ooo! You got Pocky, and potato chips, and chicken cracker thingies, and..." Kokichi happily sifted through the snacks as Himiko smiled adoringly at him, happy that he was happy and back to his old self. Finally, he finished going through all the snacks and smiled a large, happy smile at Himiko.
"When did you get all this?!" he asked.
"Today," Himiko replied. "I ended up not going with Sonia and Tenko after all." Kokichi's smile faltered.
"Oh..." he said.
"BUT...that's okay, because I wanted to buy our snacks," Himiko assured him, placing her hand on his arm. "I can hang out with Tenko and Sonia anytime. But you and I planned for a movie today, and that's what we're gonna do, got it? Supreme lady's orders!" Kokichi's smile grew bigger again.
"You got it, HimiCocoa Bean!" he said. "But...we planned to go early in the morning, since we usually like to be the first people in the world to see a movie when it comes out."
"Nyeh...that's okay," Himiko said with a mischievous grin. "There's another showing at night...and we get to wear our pajamas, which makes it easier for us to sneak our snacks inside." Kokichi tossed his head back and laughed evilly.
"Mwa-hahahahahahahaaa...great idea, Monkey Buns!" he said. Then, he pressed his forehead against Himiko's and stared lovingly into her eyes. "I love you."
"I love you, too," Himiko said. They gave each other a kiss before hugging and squishing their cheeks together.

"Himiko?" Kokichi whispered.
"Yeah?"
"I think I prefer watching movies at night...when the day ends with just you and me," Kokichi said. "Does that sound okay, or is it too corny?" Himiko smiled and gently patted his chest.

It was the first time that I was given a birthday present, homemade cookies, from one of them and had someone, not my own family, say "Happy birthday" to me. It was the first time that I had my own mobile phone to play social media and share Youtube videos with someone. All started end of March had a one night stand - protected vaginial sex and unprotected oral sex.
Couple of days later started feeling burning and itching at the the tip of my penis alongside inflammation on the Meatus, itching then started in the middle of penis which quickly became burning and stinging. Got myself a home std test and results came back positive for ureaplasma and Gardnerella Vaginalis.
Got myself over to a private sexual health clinic where I was given 1 weeks worth of metroponzale and 2 weeks of flucnazole, they didnât seem overly concerned about ureaplasma and didnât give me any doxycycline.

Take these for a couple of weeks but donât see or feel much relief, start looking online at what the issue might be so look online and see some people have had luck with ceftriaxone so ask the clinic to give me a shot. Seems to work pretty well, inflammation goes down and itching goes from a 7 to 2 but as the week goes on feel things slowly come back so back to the clinic a week later where they give me another shot ceftriaxone plus 2 weeks worth of Doxycycline.
The shot and the start of the doxy started yesterday and today the itching and pinching feeling inside my urethra is INTENSE, is this the doxy working and flushing out the bacteria?
The clinic didnât seem bothered about the Ureaplasma but after doing some reading online and finding the sub Iâm convinced this is the cause of all my issues. Once the doxy has finished Iâll be back to the clinic to get some azithromycin but I canât believe they didnât seem worried about the ureaplasma and Iâve had to do all the work myself!

I'm a middle manager for a city government and I gotta say the last few years have been the absolute worst. Covid, losing staff left and right, an increasingly entitled public, backwards technology, etc. All of that sucks and is getting worse but it's part of the job. What's the absolute worst thing though? Having not one, but two, insecure, micromanaging bosses above me. My immediate boss is a complete tool, two-faced, duplicitious, liar who never passes bad news up and always takes credit for my or other managers' ideas. Of course, whenever anything goes wrong, he's always happy to chuck us under the bus before even trying to ascertain what went wrong.
His boss, the director of the department is only interested in number one. He's always paranoid that something will happen that will get him fired and his knee jerk response to any issue, no matter how mild, is to rage. He also loves to get involved in every complaint, no matter how small, and micromanage it to death. Yet, he's also completely isolated by choice. Sits in his office with the door closed all day, keeps his camera off when using Teams or Zoom (which means most of the staff keep their cameras off) and has no clue what we do. He relies on info from his direct reports, like my boss, so he's often deeply misinformed. He's also pompous, arrogant, monopolizes the conversation and loves to throw around $20 words to show how smart he is (I'll admit it, I don't know what "reify" means).
I'm not quite sure why I'm writing this. Maybe I just feel hopeless and wanted to vent. The weekend is not long enough and next week will likely be as shitty as any other week has been/will be. I think I realize I can't change them and I need to change how I react. I'm not planning to quit yet as I have a pension that'll vest in just a couple years but I'm worried I'll have gone crazy by then. Plus, I care about my team. We lost a lot of people last year and we've been trying to rebuild from there. Of course, this means mistakes will increase, it always does with new people.
Does anyone have any advice? I feel like I'm holding on too tight and I'm beginning to get resentful towards, well, the whole damned thing. I'm not effective to my team if I'm always on edge that something will go wrong and I will be screamed at. It's always guilty until proven innocent (and even then they go out of their way to find some reason to ding you even when you demonstrate your innocence) with my management and at times I even feel like they're trying to remove every last shred of confidence I'm hanging onto, maybe because they're lacking in that? But, I know if anything goes wrong, whether we actually made a mistake or whether an applicant simply doesn't want to hear what the law says and complains, I'm getting hung out to dry. I have another manager friend at work I talk to who is in the same thing I'm in but sometimes that's not hlepful since our conversations tend to spiral down ...
Anyhow, now I'm just venting. I used to like my job and cared for the community I served. I have 20+ years invested there, been promoted four times and like working with my people and supporting them. But it's hard to keep it going when I don't have any support at all. I feel like I'm in Office Space and I'm with the therapist asking him if there's some way he can have me imagine I've been fishing all day. Yet I feel guilty about tuning out as I'm responsible for people. It's sort of no-win but maybe I'm missing something. 2023.06.03 20:11 throwaway_1112022 My (35F) mother (70F) sent me an email telling me her therapist told her to contact me.
Posting this from my throwaway account.
A bit of info for context about how Iâm feeling: I suffered a stillbirth this past February. It was completely unexpected and doctors have been unable to find a cause, despite a full autopsy and genetic testing. I did not tell my mother I was pregnant. I do not want her to know I was pregnant. I canât fault my mother for her poor timing because she didnât know, but I really wish I didnât have to deal with her problems right now.
Background about the relationship: My mother was a verbally and emotionally abusive parent throughout my childhood. She would occasionally cause physical pain. I was terrified of her. She got better once I was a teenager, but only because I started to stand up for myself. However, our fights were explosive (screaming, getting in each otherâs faces, etc.). I donât blame our poor relationship all on her. We were both immature, unreasonable, and cruel. As time went on, things calmed down a bit. We still fought a lot, but less. She wasnât as aggressive; she was now primarily emotionally dependent, needy, whiny, illogical, dismissive, and self-centered. She also now has a massive victim complex (nothing is ever her fault), never listens (I have told her dozens of times why I dislike talking to her, but she instantly forgets), and pretty much delusional (claiming we rarely fought). I donât want to suggest we never had good times. We did, but we never had a healthy relationship. It probably didnât help that I lived with her until I was 32 (I couldnât afford to live on my own and my mother would sometimes need financial assistance herself), when I moved in with my boyfriend.
When I moved in with my boyfriend (this was right before covid happened), I called my mom once a week, but this got increasingly irritating for me to do. I had nothing to talk about (Iâm a homemaker and my life consists of cleaning and cooking), but I would listen to her complain about all her problems (most of which were her own creation). The few times I had something going on (like when my cat died), she would still want to talk about herself. She would send me spam emails, random news articles I didnât want to read, and literal copies of emails she sent or received from other people (including work emails). Sheâd also call me during the day when I was busy (I tried to explain to her that being a homemaker was a full-time job, if you do it right, but she wouldnât listen); when I would tell her I was busy, she would talk anyways.
This led to me implementing a rule: âdo not contact me unless itâs an emergency, Iâll call you at the designated timeâ. She largely ignored this rule. So over time, as my irritation built up, the time between my calls to her became longer and my tone on the phone became more unfriendly. She would complain about how her other friendsâ kids called them every day (I find this very hard to believe, plus she only has 2 friends, so not exactly a good sample size), so me calling once a week was neglectful. She would always say, âI feel like you donât love / care about me.â And Iâd have to reassure her over and over and over again that I did (I hate having to do this). I did explain to her why I found it hard to talk to her, but she never listened. One of the last conversations we had, I tried to explain to her how something she did hurt my feelings, and she said, âYouâre over-reacting, GIRLIE.â I felt this was insensitive and unproductive.
I havenât contacted my mother in about 3 months. My mental health has benefited.
Fast-forward to now: my mother left me a phone message this past Wednesday afternoon. She asked if I could get proof that my cat (the one who died) no longer lived with her. Apparently, sheâs still on my motherâs lease. I didnât call her back because I didnât want to talk. I was planning on finding the death certificate this weekend (today) and sending it to her.
Friday morning, I receive an email from my mother titled âEmergencyâ. Itâs a very long email. She says that this isnât a life-or-death emergency, but still an emergency because she was âlife-alteringâ decisions to make. She reiterates she needs proof that my cat is dead (Iâm working on finding it). She basically says itâs my fault that sheâs still paying pet rent because I asked her to keep my cat on her lease, in case I needed her to pet-sit. Itâs possible I said that, but itâs been over 3 years since I moved out, and over a year since my cat passed, so I assumed that she had removed the cat from your lease by now. Whatever.
She goes on to complain about how I hate her; how I never see her for holidays; how the last time I called her it was to ask her to pay her Costco membership (I had paid her membership and was wondering if she wanted to pay me back); how I blocked her from social media; how I told her to get her own life, but only after I âwaitedâ until she was âtoo old and sickâ to move out and then âcovid was everywhereâ; how I told her to only call in an emergency; how I said we fought all the time; how I only stopped talking to her once she stopped sending me money; and how I âmade her promiseâ to move in with me and my boyfriend in a âmother-in-law apartmentâ so that she could âhelp raiseâ my future children, but now wonât talk to her.
She then says she wants to move because she hates her city, and would like to move to where I live âbecause itâs 25% cheaperâ (itâs not), but if Iâm never going to talk to her, if sheâll never be able to see her future grandkids, then maybe sheâll go live closer to her friend who might die before she goes (doubtful, given my mother has increasingly poor health and refuses to do anything about it; sheâs been killing herself slowly for decades).
She says that her therapist (who she started seeing maybe a couple months ago) told her she should ask me what changed. She claims it was a âclose to 100% changeâ.
She also gives me a ton of irrelevant updates about her life, once again burdening me with a bunch of her problems.
There is truth to a lot of what she said, but she ignores a lot of context and also changes the framing. Itâs true that I never saw her for the holidays. But this was because: [a] I get pretty carsick and she lives well over an hour away, [b] her house is a literal health hazard; thereâs mold everywhere because she NEVER cleans even though she hasnât worked in like 2 years and sheâs a hoarder, and [c] sheâs too immobile because of her weight to walk up to our top floor apartment.
It's true I blocked her from my social media. But she was treating my posts as an invitation to email me. Itâs like she thought I was talking to her, specifically, or something.
Itâs sort of true that I told her to âget her own lifeâ; I encouraged her to cultivate friendships, discover new hobbies, and get healthy. I think itâs immensely important for people to have identities that donât revolve around their children. She is emotionally dependent on me for her happiness (which she has admitted to in the past). This isnât healthy for either of us. Itâs weird that she views my encouragement as me being uncaring, when FOR YEARS BEFORE I MOVED OUT, she would go on and on about how, âWhen you move out, I can finally date, hire a maid, get hobbies, etc.â Also, I hardly âwaitedâ to move out until she was âtoo old and sick to do anythingâ. Living with her was not a choice. I couldnât move out because I wasnât financially stable enough to live on my own (and had no one else to live with, until my boyfriend). I regret having to rely on her for help, but there was nothing I could do. There were moments in her life when she couldnât afford to live by herself either. When she lost her job, it was my money that kept us both afloat. When she needed a new car, I paid for it. Our living situation was perhaps not ideal, but it benefited us both at certain moments. Finally, sheâs not too old and sick to enjoy life. But itâs not up to me to convince her of that.
It's true that she did stop sending me money (itâs money she offered to send; I didnât ask for it). But thatâs not why our relationship went bad, and itâs honestly insulting of her to imply that Iâm so greedy that the only reason I communicated with her was cash. Our relationship had been going bad long before that. For years.
Itâs true that I did bring up the idea of her living with me and my boyfriend, but I hardly âmade her promiseâ to move in and âhelp raiseâ our kids. Why would I do that, when her living with us has almost no benefit to me? (Also, thereâs no way in hell I asked her to âhelp raiseâ my kids, for obvious reasons.) When I proposed this idea, it was back when I was (naively) optimistic that me moving out would magically improve our relationship. I knew she didnât have enough money to retire and I cared about her. I thought if she could bring in enough money to cover most of her expenses, then Iâd do all the cooking and cleaning, and she could relax and do the occasional babysitting. HOWEVER, this scenario was contingent on a LOT of things. We would need to be able to afford an extra large house, which is basically impossible now with the market. My boyfriend and I canât even afford a starter home, despite being able to save a healthy amount each month. She would also need to get healthy, so that I wouldnât have to physically assist her in everything she did. Sheâd have to learn to maintain a clean lifestyle and stop hoarding. She would also need hobbies and friends so she wouldnât be reliant on me for constant input and entertainment. Finally, weâd need to have a good relationship. None of these things took place, so that offer is no longer on the table.
It is NOT true that we didnât fight all the time. We fought constantly. It is NOT true that our relationship had a âclose to 100% changeâ. Our relationship has been bad for a long time.
So that brings me to my dilemma. I really donât want to talk to her. But I also donât want her to keep harassing me. I guess I didnât really want a relationship with her, at least for now, and I canât see that changing. But I also didnât feel like I should close the door completely, which I feel like sheâs now asking me to make a decision on.
I also wonder if it is standard practice for a therapist to encourage their client ignore explicit boundaries in order to get in touch with a person who (according to them) hates them.
She continues to exhibit no remorse, does not acknowledge any wrongdoings, exhibits delusional thoughts (i.e. our relationship was wonderful), and is still nursing her victim complex. Her email is not encouraging and, if anything, makes me feel like I made the right decision in cutting off contact.

A bit of info for context about how Iâm feeling: I suffered a stillbirth this past February. It was completely unexpected and doctors have been unable to find a cause, despite a full autopsy and genetic testing. I did not tell my mother I was pregnant. I do not want her to know I was pregnant. I canât fault my mother for her poor timing because she didnât know, but I really wish I didnât have to deal with her problems right now.
Background about the relationship: My mother was a verbally and emotionally abusive parent throughout my childhood. She would occasionally cause physical pain. I was terrified of her. She got better once I was a teenager, but only because I started to stand up for myself. However, our fights were explosive (screaming, getting in each otherâs faces, etc.). I donât blame our poor relationship all on her. We were both immature, unreasonable, and cruel. As time went on, things calmed down a bit. We still fought a lot, but less. She wasnât as aggressive; she was now primarily emotionally dependent, needy, whiny, illogical, dismissive, and self-centered. She also now has a massive victim complex (nothing is ever her fault), never listens (I have told her dozens of times why I dislike talking to her, but she instantly forgets), and pretty much delusional (claiming we rarely fought). I donât want to suggest we never had good times. We did, but we never had a healthy relationship. It probably didnât help that I lived with her until I was 32 (I couldnât afford to live on my own and my mother would sometimes need financial assistance herself), when I moved in with my boyfriend.
When I moved in with my boyfriend (this was right before covid happened), I called my mom once a week, but this got increasingly irritating for me to do. I had nothing to talk about (Iâm a homemaker and my life consists of cleaning and cooking), but I would listen to her complain about all her problems (most of which were her own creation). The few times I had something going on (like when my cat died), she would still want to talk about herself. She would send me spam emails, random news articles I didnât want to read, and literal copies of emails she sent or received from other people (including work emails). Sheâd also call me during the day when I was busy (I tried to explain to her that being a homemaker was a full-time job, if you do it right, but she wouldnât listen); when I would tell her I was busy, she would talk anyways.
This led to me implementing a rule: âdo not contact me unless itâs an emergency, Iâll call you at the designated timeâ. She largely ignored this rule. So over time, as my irritation built up, the time between my calls to her became longer and my tone on the phone became more unfriendly. She would complain about how her other friendsâ kids called them every day (I find this very hard to believe, plus she only has 2 friends, so not exactly a good sample size), so me calling once a week was neglectful. She would always say, âI feel like you donât love / care about me.â And Iâd have to reassure her over and over and over again that I did (I hate having to do this). I did explain to her why I found it hard to talk to her, but she never listened. One of the last conversations we had, I tried to explain to her how something she did hurt my feelings, and she said, âYouâre over-reacting, GIRLIE.â I felt this was insensitive and unproductive.
I havenât contacted my mother in about 3 months. My mental health has benefited.
Fast-forward to now: my mother left me a phone message this past Wednesday afternoon. She asked if I could get proof that my cat (the one who died) no longer lived with her. Apparently, sheâs still on my motherâs lease. I didnât call her back because I didnât want to talk. I was planning on finding the death certificate this weekend (today) and sending it to her.
Friday morning, I receive an email from my mother titled âEmergencyâ. Itâs a very long email. She says that this isnât a life-or-death emergency, but still an emergency because she was âlife-alteringâ decisions to make. She reiterates she needs proof that my cat is dead (Iâm working on finding it). She basically says itâs my fault that sheâs still paying pet rent because I asked her to keep my cat on her lease, in case I needed her to pet-sit. Itâs possible I said that, but itâs been over 3 years since I moved out, and over a year since my cat passed, so I assumed that she had removed the cat from your lease by now. Whatever.
She goes on to complain about how I hate her; how I never see her for holidays; how the last time I called her it was to ask her to pay her Costco membership (I had paid her membership and was wondering if she wanted to pay me back); how I blocked her from social media; how I told her to get her own life, but only after I âwaitedâ until she was âtoo old and sickâ to move out and then âcovid was everywhereâ; how I told her to only call in an emergency; how I said we fought all the time; how I only stopped talking to her once she stopped sending me money; and how I âmade her promiseâ to move in with me and my boyfriend in a âmother-in-law apartmentâ so that she could âhelp raiseâ my future children, but now wonât talk to her.
She then says she wants to move because she hates her city, and would like to move to where I live âbecause itâs 25% cheaperâ (itâs not), but if Iâm never going to talk to her, if sheâll never be able to see her future grandkids, then maybe sheâll go live closer to her friend who might die before she goes (doubtful, given my mother has increasingly poor health and refuses to do anything about it; sheâs been killing herself slowly for decades).
She says that her therapist (who she started seeing maybe a couple months ago) told her she should ask me what changed. She claims it was a âclose to 100% changeâ.
She also gives me a ton of irrelevant updates about her life, once again burdening me with a bunch of her problems.
There is truth to a lot of what she said, but she ignores a lot of context and also changes the framing. Itâs true that I never saw her for the holidays. But this was because: [a] I get pretty carsick and she lives well over an hour away, [b] her house is a literal health hazard; thereâs mold everywhere because she NEVER cleans even though she hasnât worked in like 2 years and sheâs a hoarder, and [c] sheâs too immobile because of her weight to walk up to our top floor apartment.
It's true I blocked her from my social media. But she was treating my posts as an invitation to email me. Itâs like she thought I was talking to her, specifically, or something.
Itâs sort of true that I told her to âget her own lifeâ; I encouraged her to cultivate friendships, discover new hobbies, and get healthy. I think itâs immensely important for people to have identities that donât revolve around their children. She is emotionally dependent on me for her happiness (which she has admitted to in the past). This isnât healthy for either of us. Itâs weird that she views my encouragement as me being uncaring, when FOR YEARS BEFORE I MOVED OUT, she would go on and on about how, âWhen you move out, I can finally date, hire a maid, get hobbies, etc.â Also, I hardly âwaitedâ to move out until she was âtoo old and sick to do anythingâ. Living with her was not a choice. I couldnât move out because I wasnât financially stable enough to live on my own (and had no one else to live with, until my boyfriend). I regret having to rely on her for help, but there was nothing I could do. There were moments in her life when she couldnât afford to live by herself either. When she lost her job, it was my money that kept us both afloat. When she needed a new car, I paid for it. Our living situation was perhaps not ideal, but it benefited us both at certain moments. Finally, sheâs not too old and sick to enjoy life. But itâs not up to me to convince her of that.
It's true that she did stop sending me money (itâs money she offered to send; I didnât ask for it). But thatâs not why our relationship went bad, and itâs honestly insulting of her to imply that Iâm so greedy that the only reason I communicated with her was cash. Our relationship had been going bad long before that. For years.
Itâs true that I did bring up the idea of her living with me and my boyfriend, but I hardly âmade her promiseâ to move in and âhelp raiseâ our kids. Why would I do that, when her living with us has almost no benefit to me? (Also, thereâs no way in hell I asked her to âhelp raiseâ my kids, for obvious reasons.) When I proposed this idea, it was back when I was (naively) optimistic that me moving out would magically improve our relationship. I knew she didnât have enough money to retire and I cared about her. I thought if she could bring in enough money to cover most of her expenses, then Iâd do all the cooking and cleaning, and she could relax and do the occasional babysitting. HOWEVER, this scenario was contingent on a LOT of things. We would need to be able to afford an extra large house, which is basically impossible now with the market. My boyfriend and I canât even afford a starter home, despite being able to save a healthy amount each month. She would also need to get healthy, so that I wouldnât have to physically assist her in everything she did. Sheâd have to learn to maintain a clean lifestyle and stop hoarding. She would also need hobbies and friends so she wouldnât be reliant on me for constant input and entertainment. Finally, weâd need to have a good relationship. None of these things took place, so that offer is no longer on the table.
It is NOT true that we didnât fight all the time. We fought constantly. It is NOT true that our relationship had a âclose to 100% changeâ. Our relationship has been bad for a long time.
So that brings me to my dilemma. I really donât want to talk to her. But I also donât want her to keep harassing me. I guess I didnât really want a relationship with her, at least for now, and I canât see that changing. But I also didnât feel like I should close the door completely, which I feel like sheâs now asking me to make a decision on.
I also wonder if it is standard practice for a therapist to encourage their client ignore explicit boundaries in order to get in touch with a person who (according to them) hates them.
She continues to exhibit no remorse, does not acknowledge any wrongdoings, exhibits delusional thoughts (i.e. our relationship was wonderful), and is still nursing her victim complex. Her email is not encouraging and, if anything, makes me feel like I made the right decision in cutting off contact.

Huatil had heard the recommendation from her superiors, which wasn't a recommendation at all. With the information she'd been given, the situation was serious, and would tick over to catastrophic in a few tens of days or so. So here she was, having made the call to perhaps a serious threat in the future.
"We need you now," Huatil said, looking at Phoebe with her best honest expression.
"Why?"
"Our main communication networks are being hacked by something. It's intelligent, and dangerous. We've initiated quarantine procedures, but the virus is already sending its own communications through back channels, continuing to jump from world to world."
"And you want me to get rid of that problem for you."
"Alright. It will have a price. Not just materials this time. The current proposal is that I will help you if you agree to allow a cultural exchange if asked, along with full technological exchanges. The only thing you can hold back is currently classified technologies. If you violate the spirit of this deal by trying to 'classify' everything of value your species has, I will not be happy, and neither will my colleagues in the Alliance. I am aware that you have been keeping us away from the good stuff. In particular, if you want us to trust you, you will give us the solution to the mind control problem we are having."
"You are making quite the assumption," Huatil replied. Phoebe just smiled, tapping her head. "I've done a lot of thinking. First, I assume that you are in conflict with Aphid, perhaps also a certain force of mind-controlling individuals. They may or may not be Sprilnav. I know this due to my own clandestine intelligence gathering efforts."
"Hacking us, then?" Huatil resisted making a comment on such behavior being untrustworthy, considering what she'd been up to recently. She was about to wade into a shadow war with mind-controlling individuals, and Phoebe was not needed to intervene. Yes, a human force was needed, but Phoebe was too... risky. Human supersoldiers would be useful, both for assessing their capabilities and also for being less able to fool sensors and the like meant to monitor them.
"No. Not hacking. If I was hacking you, I would have everything I need already. But I am watching. Know that I engage in diplomacy because you do the same. I am willing to help you. And do not forget that you admitted to the whole Alliance that you were and are spying on us. That has a certain negative effect on the minds of certain intelligence agencies, as well as the higher-ups in the Alliance's general leadership. Your words have consequences."
"I see," Huatil replied. "Very well. I shall see what can be done."
"Having the ear of the Nest Overlord is enough?"
"In some ways."
Phoebe smiled. "So you have your own power." She tilted her head, like she was scanning Huatil. She wouldn't get anything useful, though. The connection didn't have the capability to reveal anything.
"Your childhood information has been faked. Granted, the fake is very convincing. You even took real videos of that family. But I can tell from their heartbeats and feather movements that the situation is not genuine."
"Heartbeats? In a video?" Huatil asked. How was that even... actually, it made sense. Video quality was really good, so seeing small details like that was possible.
"I am an AI. That means some of the most sophisticated simulation and modeling technology in the galaxy is at my disposal, as well as lie detection on a level undreamt of by any power that yet exists, should I see reason to activate it."
"Why not have it active at all times?"
"Power usage. Speculative simulation and reconstruction, especially when accounting for psychic energy variances, is annoyingly power intensive. However, you are worth the investigation. That said, you are not who you say you are. You have the resources to fake a past very convincingly. Therefore, you are working for a powerful faction within the Hive Union. Of course, it is not public who you are, so likely either defense or intelligence oriented. Hmm. No reaction? How interesting. Is that a cybernetic neural network engraved on your muscles and organs? Jesus, you really are the real deal. What are you?"
Huatil was at a loss for words. To be found out so convincingly, so thoroughly, and yet not suspected to be part of the Blue Intelligence Agency was a true surprise. Maybe Phoebe just didn't know about it at all yet.
"So this is why you wished to talk with me. You wanted to dig up my secrets."
"Hardly. The hivemind could do this, too. But you asked for Phoebe, not the hivemind. So here I am. That said, what are you?"
"A concerned party, let's say," Huatil replied, reassembling her facade. Her feathers first, then her face, then her heartbeat and muscles. Complete, total control. Phoebe was smirking when she opened her eyes again.
"Interesting. I will not dig into what you are, in exchange for information about the threat you are attempting to neutralize."
"Threat?"
"You are carrying a model of weapon that is not ceremonial in nature. A Model 14 Brutalizer, if I am not mistaken. That's a handheld weapon able to pierce tanks, with ammunition that is light and numerous. You are walking with enough firepower to level a tenth of a city on you. Furthermore, I can see the reflection of stealth equipment lying on the floor in front of you."
Huatil looked behind her at the black metal wall. There were no mirrors present. The only slightly reflective thing in the room was the screen, which couldn't do that when it was on and active. Phoebe's eyes didn't move, but Hautil could tell that the intelligence before her was more alive than ever. And more artificial than she had remembered.
"What?"
"Yeah, that wall is almost black. But it isn't really," Phoebe replied. "I am more than what I once was."
"This is... worrying."
"It should not be. We are allies, yes?" Phoebe asked, smiling a little too widely.
"Yes."
"Let me help you."
"I will ask Humanity to help, not you."
"I am not a threat to you or your species, nor am I one to your Union."
"I cannot trust words alone," Huatil replied.
"No. You cannot. But my androids are even more effective marksmen than whatever your cybernetic augments would let you do. Your reaction time may be low. But it is not faster than my androids' programming."
"Plotting that many angles would likely be extreme."
"Basic trigonometry and geometry, with perhaps a little lessons on elastic and inelastic collisions in physics are all that is needed for me to do that. In a whirling hurricane, in a storm with no gravity applied, with the right bullet, I could hit a target from the opposite edge."
Huatil sighed. Phoebe really wanted this job. And she was capable of it, too. Overqualified, in fact. The single weakness she had was the lack of ability to maintain quantum connections if a suppression signal was active. Plus jamming.
"Even assuming that is true, my superiors would not allow me to tell you anything."
"Sure. Assuming you have superiors, who would they be? Kawtyahtnakal is your mate. And I doubt Regulator Eyahtni would have let that happen if she was your boss. So you serve another party, one powerful enough to pull these strings. If you are not at the top, you are near it. And I would happily talk to your superiors, perhaps to congratulate them on your very well-trained 'untrained' stance." "Secrets will remain secrets, Phoebe. I have come to ask for you help with the virus. Will I have it?" "Yes, with a single amendment to our agreement."
"That was not the deal."
"It was not."
"So why should I let this alteration stand?"
"Because judging from the fact that you are well trained and haven't ended this conversation, where you have seen me gather more intelligence on who and what you are and coming increasingly close to whatever hidden truth you have locked away. You obviously judge me as a threat but do not treat me as one in the hopes of maintaining a cordial dialogue.
Furthermore, you seek to distance me from whatever foe you are fighting, likely because the human soldiers would seem more likely to allow you to assess the fighting capabilities of Humanity's strongest champions. And beyond that, the amendment remains unspecified, yet you have already been making small motions showing you accept it with the words you chose to talk with me."
Huatil kept herself from thinking anymore. Too much pondering might also reveal some new scrap of information to Phoebe. Her whole personal file was clearly wrong. This level of piercing interrogation was never expected. Had she been like this all along, or was this new? And if so, would she remain like this in the future, gradually peeling away the secrets of the Sennes Hive Union one by one?
"Again, that is quite a lot of inferences. Some of it may be wrong."
"Some is right, then. So I am either getting closer, am a threat, or you need me very desperately. The latter is true, and the only thing that matters. So you will contact your superiors, get me access to them, and we shall share information in a permanent dialogue. You will not shut down the line later. We will hammer out a more sufficient agreement, so that we can actually get things done as unified national entities, instead of hatchlings trying to make their first flight."
"Using our analogies does not make your request more agreeable, you know," Huatil warned. "It does not need to. You have already agreed."
"You wanted to alter the deal."
"I am altering it, Truth Speaker Huatil. I wish to know what you are, and who you are. And we shall have an important talk with your superiors. You need me, which is why you are asking me this at all. And I shall help you with the virus, but it will require opening the locks on your networks." "You could just break them."
"Then I would be detected, and any anti-Phoebe factions within your species would have easy fodder to attack me with."
"And you could hack the news system, as well."
"Your air-gapped networks? Not easily. Especially with the sealing procedure. I am also fighting a war with Aphid as we speak. "I think so. Now, will we finally pull out the pinfeathers and get to business?"

"Full information on the individual known as Huatil, contact with her current employer at the time of the signing of this agreement, a cultural exchange agreement if the Alliance agrees to such, full technological exchange if the Alliance agrees to such. The details of a technological exchange include and are not limited to civilian products without a direct copyright, manufacturing techniques, alloy compositions, types, and forging techniques, energy production, manipulation, and removal technologies, non-classified military technologies, supercomputer construction techniques, all known elements in your periodic table, not just the public ones, and multi-planetary economic markets. Full information on combating mind control. In exchange, the individual known as the AI Phoebe will excise the virus in your networks. Humanity will send its supersoldiers to aid in your current unspecified predicament for the length of one month, as defined by the human Gregorian calendar, as it is set up for the planet of Earth."
"Your condition on classified technologies will need to change, as well as that on civilian products," Huatil replied. "Retroactive classifications make sense, but the Hive Union may produce technologies in the future that require secrecy. Not to mention some of the higher classification levels, such as above 5, will not be touched. I am not saying that as some sort of point to negotiate. You just will not get anything above that. Not if you hack us, not if you beat the right people within a claw of their life.
And were we to sign away the civilian product manufacturing techniques, it would significantly anger the corporate factions in the Union. The same is true for the other manufacturing agreement. You will have to agree not to sell such materials to us and use them only for your own ends. That would include selling the products of such designs or deconstructed versions. Even then, this agreement will not be quick."
"Then speed it up."
"Cawlarians are dying because of this virus. Monorail trains have derailed. Aerial vehicles have crashed."
"Yes."
"So something must be done now, then," Huatil replied.
"I will see what I can do to slow the spread. But the deal must be passed."
"How much of this was drafted by the Alliance prior to our conversation?"
"Every provision that remains. Well, we'd be happy to get more, but the deal won't budge too much more away from this. I know it's not good proactice to reveal the cards in a negotiation. But telling you what we hope to gain will lessen the time this takes and hopefully allow us to finally establish proper ties. We already have a defensive link, but it is weak. And we have trusted you to move us closer over time, but you have not. Thus, we are acting to force that."
"So you are holding our crisis as a gun to our heads," Huatil surmised.
"No," Phoebe replied. "I will help you with your issue. But unless you wish to send your own people into whatever mission you wish for, then the agreement will need to be signed. Only then will the super soldiers deploy. We are not trying to kill your people. We are trying to get a deal which has slipped from our fingers for far too long. And you might be forgetting that it may benefit you, too. Humanity's hivemind is more intelligent than any model VI or single group of smart scientists you have."
"If it comes out that the Alliance manufactured these circumstances-"
"You presume too much. We would not do this to you. If we wanted to control your Union, the first step would be... no, I won't tell you. However, Truth Speaker, know that we do not wish for hostilities. Were we to successfully subjugate your Union, the Sprilnav would burn us both down for breaching the system limits."
"That is not a very reassuring promise."
"We do not want to die. That is pretty binding, I would think. Just like those alterations under your feathers, I'd say," Phoebe grinned. Huatil sighed.
"The agreement will be subject to changes after our diplomats get ahold of it."
"Kawtyahtnakal and Eyahtni could always enact the 24th Tenet, bypassing resistance from all underlying foes, if they are not currently being impeached."
"The 24th is an extreme circumstance. Even if Kawtyahtnakal were willing to enact it, that does not mean that your Alliance will be quick to accept any changes."
"Actually, we would. A few years ago, most of our leaders assumed you would be moving closer to us at some point. Thus, we prepared various diplomatic plans, potential proposals, and goals that we were willing to cede, those we were not, and other such things. The wanderers are not currently party to the calculus as they have no unified species leader, and Blistanna has already agreed to and pored over the plans.
In fact, that prompted an expansion and update to them."
"And is our current situation following such a plan?"
Phoebe shrugged. "You won't find any records unless you have a secret ability to teleport things too. Nothing online exists. And the Alliance has so many planets to search... and so many stations. No matter. I'm happy to tell you that we are currently straddling the path between Cawlarian Foreign Policy Plan Blue and Plan Yellow. Of course, there are other CFPPs."
Huatil took note of those for later.
"Your questions on their contents will not be answered by the few that are privy to their existence. Good luck with your attempts, Truth Speaker. Now that I have presented the path forward, are you ready to do some heavy politics and diplomacy?"
"I will present the agreement to the relevant parties, and you may do the same. Know that I also have some bargaining power, Phoebe. One day, you may be on the other side of this equation." "Well, the deal for us is sweeter. Your fastest ships would still likely take weeks to reach us, while our fastest ships are Brey's portals, with a travel time of zero seconds. Well, not quite, but you get the idea."
"Instant deployment," Huatil replied.
"A reminder of the possible future benefits of a long-term and stronger diplomatic relationship between our two peoples."
"Would you be willing to let us have Brey's aid in a coming unspecified event?"
"If the event were specified, she agreed, and the agreement was signed, then perhaps we may discuss. Until then, we shall wait. I will help curb the damage from the virus. But removing it and starting your operation with human super soldiers will require an official agreement, signed by at least Regulator Eyahtni and Nest Overlord Kawtyahtnakal."
"I hate bureaucracy."
"You're married to a politician," Phoebe pointed out unhelpfully.
"Yes. But no. Not married. An equivalent and ancient ritual, which appeased certain elements of the Cawlarian population that were concerned with my prospects." "I'm sure you have some. No offense, but-"
"Please don't."
"You seem more of the stabby and shooty type to me."
"Not really offensive," Huatil said, picking at the feathers near her mouth.
"For all I know, you're a pacifist. Alien cultures are strange."
"Not that strange. The word means the same. Pacifists do not exist at the top of Cawlarian government, and certainly do not make the decisions. War is horrible and a great blight upon civilized society, but it is as inevitable as the stars growing cold in the darkness of the far future." Phoebe nodded. "In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium... nevermind."
"What?"
"A reference to an even worse hypothetical universe than we live in."
"I don't understand," Huatil said.
"It's a 300 year old experimental and expansive science fiction universe, with enough attached lore and literature that it would take over 100 years to read it all."
"That sounds like a lie."
Phoebe laughed. "I assure you, it is not. Thousands of books, hundreds of movies, dozens of shows, and countless random internet articles remain as a testament to it. It became quite popular in the mid-2050s when society was starting to crumble too visibly for even the remaining political resistance to refute."
"Sounds interesting."
"Assuming you have immortality, then you might have the time for it. Though I'm not sure if even I'd be able to buy all the models."
"Aren't you the richest person in the Alliance?"
"Eighth richest, behind a few trillionaires. Third richest 'human,' though."
"Ah," Huatil replied. That was concerning. Inflation, over-expensive separate items or books, or a simple joke? She didn't know. And while establishing rapport with Phoebe could be considered valuable, and she was growing an interest in what Phoebe spoke of, she had certain things to attend to. She assumed the quote was well known enough for human networks to have the answer to it by a search. "Perhaps one day, such a cultural exchange might help me understand the motivations of those who wrote such a thing."
"You don't want to understand. But that does remind me of something," Phoebe said.
"What is that?"
"Make sure you take care of whatever mind-controlled cults you can find before they get too big." Huatil nodded. It was nice seeing her, even though Phoebe was now an exceedingly dangerous individual. Far more so than suspected. Luckily, the preparations for the attack on the local hive of suspected mind-control activity in the Forsaken City were underway. Agents were coming in, gathering information for the Blue Intelligence Agency about various locations of interest, possible choke points, routes to a command center, and so on.
"I have something else to tell you as well. There is a proposal in place, not yet ratified or voted on in any way, to form a treaty organization with your Alliance and the Vinarii Empire. Defensive, of course."

My PA came back immediately and I got the script. 8 weeks later (and down 18lbs) they said I didnât have a PA on file and I needed one to get my third months shot.
Turns out, they approved the medication, they do automatically if a PA is submitted. But they limit the quantity to 8 shots and require a second PA to go over the plan limit.
I doubt theyâll approve more, and I am happy with going from 201.8 to 183 as a 41M 5â10ââ. But I really wanted to hit my GW before dropping medication completely.
The first two months didnât cost anything, no co pay etc. and my habits with food have gotten better. But having 6 months or so of Wegovy helping would make me feel more confident in sticking to these new habits long term.
Plus, I was enjoying not pooping everyday.
Oh well. If you have BCBS and donât really hit the requirements for SG you might still be able to get two months worth.
