2023.06.03 07:02 Cjbakerfitness Jessica thinks her fans are stupid
Nicole brought up a great point in her video today. For months now, we’ve been asking Jessica to be truthful about her affair with Jason while with Reece. Jessica posted in a recent video how everyone is “obsessed with her sx life”. This is the epitome of everything that’s wrong with Jessica. She takes a legitimate and valid question that her supporters deserve a fully transparent explanation, and she twists it into “that’s a weird question, respect my privacy, I need time.” Jessica, you built your channel, your brand, your career around being fully transparent about YOUR life. Now things are being revealed that this “life” you portrayed has some serious flaws. Instead of gaslighting your subscribers and manipulating them, you owe it to every single subscriber that watches your channel that you PROFIT off of, by welcoming all questions and answer truthfully. The problem is, I think Jessica is incapable of assessing her own self, she’s incapable of sincerely apologizing, and incapable of having any empathy for others - bc she is a sociopath. Jessica, we don’t care about your sx life. You could be an esort for all we care and nobody would give a sht. What we care about is why you built a family vlog channel showcasing the picture perfect family, when behind the scenes you’re having an affair. Was it for the money? Were you desperate? We are confused. Funny. At the bottom of your description, you list your equipment with links and you make money if people buy from your Amazon link. I bought my Canon T6i camera as well as microphones and lighting off your link. My bill came to about $1,500. I’m sure you made over $100 from that. Did I have to use your link? No. I did bc I thought highly of you. It’d be nice if you thought enough of your fans that go out of their way to help you (as I did), and just tell us the truth.

2023.06.03 06:57 Charlie_D_Top_Step Have we missed the forest for the trees?
Hello all,
I have spent some time thinking about today's filings, specifically Docket #600. This was a fairly simple Docket, requesting the authorisation of additional professionals from "Sandler, Travis, & Rosenberg, P.A. as an Additional Ordinary Course Professional to provide international trade and customs legal services". This piqued my curiosity, and got me brainstorming on what this might mean, when suddenly a light bulb went off. What if the best potential buyeacquiring company/merger partner is not U.S. based, but a foreign owned/based company? Who could this be and what could the implications be?
I will try to keep this simple and brief, in the hope that others can pile in and flesh out additional possibilities, etc.
As an example; imagine if an arm of Alibaba was interested in acquiring part or all of BBBY/BuyBuyBaby either on their own, or possibly in conjunction with others such as Ryan Cohen, Carl Icahn, etc.? A deal like this would certainly be subject to some serious scrutiny from the F.T.C. and other government entities, which could explain the long, drawn out process and many of the delays. How about Ryan Cohen's "Stop shooting down my balloons" Tweet as well as the "Ni Hao" Tweet? BBBY's large Net Operating Losses and tax credits would be a boon for a large acquiring company and would add a load of extra value. A consortium purchase could bring together a group of interested parties that would all derive benefits from a combined deal.
All of the above sounds pretty plausible, and in hindsight, could explain a lot of what has been going on. There is one kicker to all of this however, that really jumped out at me. Imagine that there really is a desire and goal by those involved to show how corrupt and broken the system is with naked shorts, synthetics, etc. etc. and use this as a catalyst to change the system? As was seen with GameStop, in the end, the retail apes and all others involved got used, abused, and mocked by the system and no real change was effected. Imagine however, that one of the worlds largest, non U.S. based corporations got involved. Imagine if their government also became involved and made it a political issue between China and the U.S.? There would be no sweeping things under the rug, or turning off of the buy button. Imagine that a deal involved a stock swap in order to kick off MOASS? Have there been any Chinese or Hong Kong stocks that have seen short squeezes recently?
This is my base case, and I am hoping that others can chime in with other ideas, and thoughts as to how plausible this might be? Thoughts?
Cheers

2023.06.03 06:53 Aniketastron Seeking Feedback on My Distributed Network Project - Is It Worth Pursuing?
Hey, fellow Redditors! I've been working on a project inspired by the mechanics of torrent networks, and I wanted to get your thoughts and feedback on its potential viability. Allow me to explain.
The idea behind my project is to create a distributed network similar to how torrents operate. The goal is to utilize the collective computing power and storage of users to train a powerful machine learning model called Pygmalion. Here's how it would work:
Users would download a program that, in the background, harnesses a small percentage of their computing power and storage resources to run Pygmalion. Over time, as the model trains and improves, it would be shared across the network, making it accessible to all users involved.
However, as I dive deeper into this endeavor, I've come to realize the complexity and challenges associated with its implementation. Before I invest more time and effort, I wanted to reach out to this amazing community to gauge interest and gather insights.
So, here's my question: Do you think my idea has potential? Is it worth pursuing, or would it be more sensible to shift my focus elsewhere? I don't want to pour my energy into something that may not resonate with anyone.
I welcome any thoughts, suggestions, or concerns you might have. Perhaps you can share your experiences or shed light on similar projects that have succeeded or failed. Your input will help me make an informed decision and ensure I'm investing my time wisely.
Thank you all for your time and expertise! I'm looking forward to hearing your valuable insights.
TL;DR: Working on a distributed network project inspired by torrents, aiming to train Pygmalion using users' computing power and storage. Seeking feedback on whether the idea is worth pursuing or if I should focus elsewhere. Appreciate your thoughts and experiences on similar projects.

2023.06.03 06:50 lukeylukeluke2 A letter to my parents. I wonder if they/me are narcissistic. 50% me just shouting into the void 50% feedback appreciated. Was going to get Chatgpt to change it into a rap to keep you all interested but cba
I am currently attending therapy and my work with them has made me more conscious of uncomfortable feelings that have led to a feeling of resentment and loss that stems from my childhood.
What follows Is my account of my experience, feelings, interpretations, memories. Whilst yours might be different, I am telling you mine and how it is real to me, sometimes from the perspective of the child that experienced these things where things are a lot more significant than they might be for an adult and not even register.
I get that some things might be remembered wrongly
i currently pay to attend psychoanalytic psychotherapy therapy 14 hours a week, 5 days a week. This is following a near lifetime of attending various other therapies, medications and being imprisoned by various coping mechanisms I learned to help me survive since childhood.
I feel you have already acknowledged that you have let me down. Yet you still wish to be connected with me. I would like to be connected with you too but I feel angry.
I want to connect with you both, my siblings, people in general and even myself but it seems I am deeply angry/resentful for being presented in my childhood with an environment where I felt scared and ashamed of expressing my needs and feeling deprived of emotional connection. My physical needs were taken care of but emotionally I think that people were not present and short of temper, time, attention and other resources.
I felt bad, guilty, ashamed for having needs and even felt fearful that my body would express a want for its needs to be fulfilled (e.g. crying).
I feel that I am expected to trust the excuses of the absences, the uncertainties, the short tempers, the half families and have learnt to feel shame/guilt to feel unsure, insecure and resentful of fully emotionally connecting.
I have curiosity about what the family/work secrets are, I don't need to know them but the message that family secrets have is that your loyalty sides with protecting these things at the expense of trust with your son as inherent in secrets is a lack of congruence. And with a lack of congruence you get gaslighting; you get a lack of trust in both the people you depend on for your survival and development (both personal and social) and emotional intimacy, connection cannot exist in that environment.
I feel that through various bits of information this caricature of you being some sort of James Bond/secret service/military/government (whatever) character has been allowed to be associated with daddy however all I have experienced of him is me feeling him being a tyrant in my childhood and being a broken man waiting for god whilst mummy waits on him in my adulthood. Of course I would like to see my father as James bond but he is a fictional/exceptional character that is unrealistic to try to emulate and the feeling of me having to live up to that has caused issues in it's own right. For me, nothing I can do is good enough as it is in the shadow of this fictional character. If I take away the fantasy (IE what I feel like I have been led to believe) and I just look at what I have experienced, I don't see a James Bond, I see a failed inventor with very childish defence mechanisms including using stories and the art of ambiguity (like poetic CV writing) and the idea that the threat of physical violence is the only way to assert ones strength.
I gave up trying to get a convincing account of various anomalies as the responses I get are very far fetched and just begat more questions, it's utterly hopeless. For example, I feel that whoever these half siblings are, whatever grandiose reasons there might be to justify doing things the way they have been done, they on the other hand are humans, apparently your children, who might be afforded more dignity than they have, especially in the light of finding out that the person they consider is their natural father is rather than dead, has actually been living with another family in the next city.
All during this, I have felt alone, not actually stood up for. When I brought all this to your attention previously I was told "we're sorry, we have let you down, but this is how we were brought up ourselves" as if to absolve yourselves of any responsibility for either the past, present or future.
I find it troubling that I cannot get myself to talk about this stuff, to express my feelings, to criticize or to enquire. I find it troubling that I would feel guilt, shame, fear to do so.
When bringing up my experience of things and it happens to not be in a favourable light, instead of acknowledging these things, 'the messenger is shot' and I am told I am ungrateful and 'only remember the bad stuff'
I remember receiving wonderful gifts, I loved playing with Lego etc. I wonder what was going on at the time I started to receive gifts that were more challenging than I could deal with yet didn't get help with completing them. I felt alone, unsupported. I felt it set me up for failure.
I am curious what was going on around 1990 when according to my doctors notes it was reported that I was having mood and behaviour problems. I don't know if it is because of the death of granddaddy, the move to a new school and city, the birth of Leah, the birth of a half sibling, me being stuck on a school coach vomit comet or something else that I was picking up subconsciously through whatever was going on in the environment I was being brought up in.
I wonder why for as long as I can remember, even before socialising with other children I was seen as polite (fawning/walking on egg shells) and I was shy.
I wonder what might have lead me to being anxious about vomit. It has been proposed that it is a fear of the act of involuntarily expressing something that I cannot digest. For example, being shamed for crying.
My coping mechanisms of stonewalling, ignoring could be interpreted as narcissistic behaviours. However, I do these behaviours out of anger, and fear, the combination or which would be resentment. I choose these behaviours because I am fearful of expressing my needs either aggressively or assertively. I fear this because as a child, I believed that physical violence, spanking, or much worse was always a potential.
I remember people, particularly daddy getting offended at things whether they were disrespectful, neutral or innocent. The safest thing for me was to just shut up and hide.
The sound of screaming, slamming doors, the feeling of the stonewalling made me feel frightened, shocked. The physical symptoms were very uncomfortable and I experience these same symptoms whenever I hear a door slam, whenever someone is short with me, whenever I'm in a car and countless other situations.
I feel that daddy's attempts to assert boundaries with Lyndsay (if that was what was going on... I don't actually have any idea what was going on other than perhaps this to explain Lyndsay's horrifying screaming) were undermined by mummy withdrawing and ignoring him (going to bed, sulking). This is mummy's way of expressing her anger and manipulating daddy and others into getting what she wants. This technique is used by people who are up against people who cannot fight physically as they are physically weaker than the other person and cannot communicate assertively in this situation for whatever reason. I have learnt to do this myself and have learnt that this is called passive aggressive behaviour and is often associated with narcissistic behaviour.
With my father being away for most of the time, both physically and mentally, it was left to my mother to bring me up. In this situation I have learnt to be protective of my mothers needs, to make her happy, often at the expense of me expressing my needs as this would have led to a painful drain on her limited resources. Daddy's way of asserting his strength through what I perceived as an unspoken physical threat taught me that masculinity is disgusting and 'not the way' that you ingratiate yourself to women and not a way that leads women to feel safe and treated with respect. This however has lead me to neglect to develop masculine traits and this affects me in all types of my relationships. I don't think I ever learnt to be assertive, I learnt that having needs met would lead to conflict and that conflict requires aggression and winning rather than discussion and perhaps compromise. Thus I have bizarrely become spoilt as I have never had my expectations questioned and not learnt to be happy with compromise. I instead sulk. The tragedy is that I am spoilt yet left with nothing.
I feel my mother should have been the source for nurturing and through unconditional love I would be given an innate sense that I am worthy of love no matter what the world says otherwise and my father for feelings of harnessing the world through my strength of assertiveness.
Instead I feel love (or in this case, approval, or just 'not being chastised') was on condition that I am mummy's rock, I please her, I fawn by not asking too much of her, whilst my sister demands everything, resulting in me being fed scraps.
I feel perhaps resentful of the general feeling of unease I have due to not being fully protected from what was going on in the family environment
I am frightened of every member of my family. The feeling of someone snapping at me cuts me deeply to this day.
The fact that I have felt that I am only comfortable to express all this with the distance of an email, at the age of 41 after decades of intensive therapy that I have been too ashamed to confess to having is very telling about the severity/enormity/entrenchment of my feelings.
The feeling as a child of waiting as if it was an eternity, wondering if my dad would ever come back to share some real connection knowing over time that I would only find when he did come back, he wasn't 'there'. he was in a violent stupor, the shrieking from my sister would start followed by the choking oppressive withdrawing from my mother; the 'performative' playing 'happy families' once daddy had sobered up as if nothing had happened (look again at those Christmas home videos, my smile is a grimace, and it still is. I suspect Lyndsay's is too. Poor Leah, floating around, I assume genuinely happy as she hasn't yet had things subconsciously filter in); only for the cycle to be gone through again and again.
This doesn't even touch the feeling that I have of Lyndsay acting out her frustrations on me.
I think self-diagnosing her with some sort of personality is a way of excusing yourselves from her childhood environment having an influence on her behaviour. It also condemns her to a lifetime of her being the way she is.
I felt like I could not depend on my parents for my security and development and had a sense of pride in being independent compared to my siblings yet have realised that I am just as dependent on others as my sisters are, in fact I am hiding the fact that I feel my needs would be too much for people (perhaps where me being afraid of puking comes from as I can't control it). we just have different ways of dealing with being dependent. Fortunately for my siblings that means they get to grab everything (I'm sure they have their pitfalls), yet for me it results in me shooting myself in the foot and I get scraps or nothing. I wait for attention, I get proof that I am loved by waiting for the person to give it and feeling resentful at the person for them not reading my mind.
That time when I was crying in my room and daddy asked me "if there was ever anything wrong you would tell me right?" And I said "no". That was an act of defiance. I was furious (for being absent; for being temperamental (triggered to snap at people and take things as a personal criticism whether they were or not); for not being an inspiration; for having the expectations of someone who was qualified/deserved the benefits of being a father without actually fulfilling his responsibilities of being a father) with you by then yet also terrified. I feel what you were asking was for me to emotionally connect with you so knowing that that's how I have power over you.
I do not intend for this to be a slagging match. I wish to just communicate my experience of things and how I feel. And honestly right now I feel ashamed, guilty and scared for any number of the "Four Horsemen" to have their input for having dared to express my needs or to have criticized. I probably won't pick up any phone calls or texts for now and will respond to an email when I feel ready in order to avoid an emotional interaction that, whilst I wish I could bare, I cannot.
The damage is done, no one can go back in time to fix this and I am not sure that I will see anyone putting in the amount of work into finally curtailing this intergenerational trauma, if that's what it is as much as I seem to have devoted my life to. I have experienced what I have experienced and had developed the methods of coping that I had available to me at the time and I now feel trapped by them. I don't know what to do for the future. Perhaps I need to go through some grieving process and develop the confidence that I will be able to express my needs, the acceptance that I will not always get what I want and no longer sulk. I have become aware of my feelings of anger and fear, I have been resentful, now I am attempting to express my feelings. What happens next might depend on the response I get but I will need to do things at my own pace. As for if you want to do anything, that's up to you. I feel safer to not be dependent on yourselves, or others in general however, like I said, despite this, I am dependent on people whether I like it or not. This area I am hazy with.
I am still working on myself, perhaps my feelings might change entirely. As for how things could work going forward, I don't yet know, I am yet to work it out, but maybe this is a step out of a cul-de-sac and towards somewhere closer than us just mutually switching our brains off and staring at the same corner of the living room and me 'performing'.
I need to learn to be comfortable expressing my feelings and needs, even if this means I am being critical. Then I need to let go of resentment and the idea that although you want connection with me I feel it is later than when I needed it.
I am preoccupied with a painful, discomforting sense of emptiness, a sense of deprivation, a hunger, a longing that I constantly, in one way or another seek to resolve or distract myself from. I would like to one day no longer feel this however I'm not even sure if I will be afforded such a luxury and finally get on with my life.

2023.06.03 06:40 ibroughtashrubbery Tiny portable personal fan with a metal piece that can cool down really cold...how?
So...just that. My gf just bought a tiny little personal fan, one of those you can carry in a backpack or handbag. It has a small 2000mAh battery. It has three operating modes, the two first are your average medium and high power, with battery lasting around 5h and 3h respectively. The third mode, however, turns a metal piece placed in front of the fan really cold. The crappy translation says "turn on cold compress with low wind, last around 1.5h". And indeed, that tiny metal piece went really cold, really fast. How would you guess it's doing this? I'm obviously going to discard a compressor for something so tiny and on batteries. Internal evaporation? I don't feel any fluid moving when shaking it, but then again, that wouldn't be too indicative of not having any fluids.
EDIT: Found the fan website, but doesn't have (obviously) any explanation nor tech specs. What would be the most obvious mode to do this?

‘The Little Mermaid’ is finally here. Find out how to watch Disney's latest live-action adaptation animated film The Little Mermaid online for free.Walt Disney Studios has established a remarkable trend of making live-action remakes of its classic stories. One after the other, all the fairytales of the past era are being brought to life by the studio in an attempt to tell the magical stories in a new light of living characters.
Download ⭆🛑⭆Watch Now: The Little Mermaid (2023) Movie Online Free Download ⭆🛑⭆Watch Now: The Little Mermaid (2023) Movie Online Free Get ready to go "under the sea!" The latest of Disney's hugely successful line of live-action remakes, Ariel (Halle Bailey) is set to return to theaters for the first time in almost thirty-five years with The Little Mermaid (2023). The Walt Disney Company once again invites audiences to travel under the sea to see Princess Ariel's story unfold like never before. Featuring direction from veteran musical filmmaker Rob Marshall and other roles inhabited by major Hollywood stars like Melissa McCarthy as Ursula the Sea Witch and Javier Bardem as King Triton, the film is bound to be a bona fide hit at the box office.
Though the upcoming and highly anticipated film will have stiff competition against two stand-up comedians on the weekend it releases, The Little Mermaid is destined to show that life is better down where it's wetter under the sea this Summer movie season. To find showtimes and streaming information on Disney's latest big-budget reimagining of an animated classic, here is where you can watch The Little Mermaid.
The new Little Mermaid is diving into theaters with a sparkling live-action look, three new original songs and a total treasure trove of a cast. Starring Halle Bailey as the fiery-haired Ariel who swaps sea for sand, Melissa McCarthy as the iconically villainous half-octopus Ursula, Jonah Hauer-King as Eric, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and the delightfully odd coupling of Daveed Diggs and Awkwafina as Sebastian and Scuttle, the live-action remake of the 1989 animated classic Disney Princess film is certainly going to make a splash. Longing to be part of Ariel’s world? You won’t need to bargain with a sea witch to make it happen. Here’s how to watch the new Little Mermaid, plus where to stream the classic Little Mermaid movie, The Little Mermaid sequels and more.
What Is the Release Date for The Little Mermaid?
Ariel's quest to go from a mermaid into a human begins anew when The Little Mermaid premieres this Memorial Day Weekend on Friday, May 26th, 2023. The film will be going up against not one, but two stand-up comedians and their films that weekend, with Sebastian Maniscalco's About My Father and Bert Kreischer's The Machine premiering on the same day. That said, The Little Mermaid will almost certainly be the choice for younger audiences and families.
While some Disney films are heading straight to Disney+, The Little Mermaid will first be shown exclusively in theaters.
Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube or Apple, or become available to stream on Disney+.

How to Watch The Little Mermaid
There's been no official announcement regarding The Little Mermaid's streaming release date, though we know it will eventually be released on Disney+, rather than Netflix or HBO Max.
It's difficult to guess when to expect The Little Mermaid on Disney+, as the company hasn't been consistent with its streaming-release cadence; its past five live-action reimaginings were released directly onto Disney+. The company has brought the last few Marvel movies to streaming within two-three months, however, which potentially puts The Little Mermaid on Disney+ between July 26 and August 26.
The Little Mermaid will be shown exclusively in theaters. We expect the movie to come to Disney+, but based on Disney's past release models, the film won't be made available to stream before 45 to 90 days after its theatrical release.
Will The Little Mermaid Be in Theaters or on Streaming?
Unlike several of Disney's other live-action remakes such as Pinocchio and Peter Pan & Wendy, The Little Mermaid will be exclusively in movie theaters first with tickets available for pre-sale now.
After The Little Mermaid has completed its exclusive theatrical run, the film will be released on the Disney+ streaming service. Based on Disney's past release models, the film won't be made available to stream before 45 to 90 days after its theatrical release.
When will The Little Mermaid be streaming on Disney+?
The Little Mermaid Disney+ premiere date is tentatively estimated to be August 30, 2023.
While no official Little Mermaid streaming date has been confirmed by Disney, most of its major movie releases drop on Disney+ following a minimum 90-day period, and typically premiere on the platform on Wednesdays, making Wednesday, August 30 the most likely date for Disney’s The Little Mermaid live-action streaming release.
Will The Little Mermaid Be Streaming On Disney+?
The 2023 version of The Little Mermaid will only be in theaters initially. After The Little Mermaid has completed its exclusive theatrical run, it is likely to stream on Disney Plus. You can also watch the animated version of Hans Christian Andersen's 1837 fairy tale of Ariel on Disney Plus now.
While you will only be able to catch the new "The Little Mermaid" in theaters starting next Friday, you can still sign up for Disney+ now to refresh yourself on the characters, song, plot and magical fun from the highly anticipated film. The 1989 version of the movie was a catalyst for Disney's animation renaissance throughout the '90s and it still holds up today.
An ad-supported Disney+ subscription starts at $8 per month, but you can get an ad-free access to the service for $11 monthly or bundle the Disney streaming service with Hulu and ESPN+ starting at $13 per month. Disney+ boasts a huge collection of movies and television series, including Marvel and Star Wars content. If you add in Hulu and ESPN, you have nearly unlimited entertainment at your fingertips.
Is The Little Mermaid streaming on Netflix?
No, The Little Mermaid will not be on Netflix — at least not any time soon. In the meantime, you’ll just have to head out to a movie theater or wait for it to become available to stream on Disney+.
Will The Little Mermaid Be On HBO Max?
No, The Little Mermaid will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
Is The Little Mermaid Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie The Little Mermaid on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

There are a few ways to watch The Little Mermaid online in the U.S. You can use a streaming service such as Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime Video. You can also rent or buy the movie on iTunes or Google Play. You can also watch it on-demand or on a streaming app available on your TV or streaming device if you have cable.
The Little Mermaid Cast and Characters
The Little Mermaid was written by David Magee and directed by Rob Marshall. It stars the following actors:
Halle Bailey as Ariel
Melissa McCarthy as Ursula
Javier Bardem as King Triton
Noma Dumezweni as Queen Selina
Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric
Daveed Diggs as Sebastian
Awkwafina as Scuttle
Jacob Tremblay as Flounder
Art Malik as Sir Grimsby
What is The Little Mermaid About?
The official synopsis for The Little Mermaid by Walt Disney Studios read:
“The Little Mermaid” is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea, and while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land, but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy.
There is not much mystery in The Little Mermaid's plot. As seen in Disney's many other live-action remakes, it is anticipated that the film's plot will largely stick to the original. With the well-known song "Part of Your World," in which Ariel sings about her wish to be a part of the world beyond the water, i.e., the human realm, the teaser already alluded to Ariel's fascination with the human world. Fans will get to see Ariel and Prince Eric's romance as they deal with the challenges posed by their differences.

2023.06.03 06:30 LordCoale The Mercy of Humans" Part 32 - Rivers of Light
First-
Previous The planetary alarms sounded again, waking me up from a deep sleep as dawn approached. It was likely warning of another solar assault on our planet. I thought myself lucky that Op'olat and his brothers had rescued us from the cave system before it flooded.
But now I wondered if that was really such a good thing. The mountain would have easily protected us from the massive radiation storm heading towards us now. The solid stone construction of the ancient town hall would provide some protection, but will it be enough?
“Reilla!” I could hear the fear in Ael’la’s voice. The woman had been helpful since we were rescued. Even with her infant, she had taken on the care of all the orphaned children, giving them hope and comfort. But she was full of fear, even if the little ones never noticed.
“Reilla? What is happening now? Why are the sirens going off again?”
“I know as much you, but it must be another radiation storm. Get the children into the basement. Get them settled in. Sing them songs. Keep them calm and quiet.”
“If you say so.”
“I do.”
While she got the little ones into the shelter, I went searching for D’rylla. If anyone would know what is happening, it would be our grumpy little radio operator. She knew more than anyone about everything.
The alarms cut off abruptly before I found her.
“D’rylla? What is happening?”
“Oh, there’s just too much. There is a huge solar storm heading towards us with a radiation count high enough to kill anything caught on the surface. But the humans placed their fleet between the us and the sun. Their shields took the brunt of it.”
The tiny woman ran outside, surely an insane thing to do with a radiation storm hitting the planet.
“What are you doing? Get back in here!” I raced after her to stop her from committing suicide.
“No, you don’t understand. The humans stopped it. They said the energized particles are causing rivers of light in the sky and the humans say it is safe to go watch.”
The humans have proven themselves to be competent. If they say it is safe, then I believe them. So it was with only a little trepidation that I stepped outside.
The predawn sky was filled with magic. I had heard of auroras at the poles, but never this far south. It was glorious to behold. In the sky, I could see the rivers of red, purple, green, and gold light running from the far north to the equator and further out, and in space I could see bubbles of light with colors dancing wildly across the spectrum.
“It’s beautiful,” I whispered in awe.
“That must be the human’s ships,” D’rylla whispered back. “There’s at least three hundred or more.”
“If they can protect the planet from the radiation storms, then maybe our planet will survive.”
I found myself believing in the possibility. I am bitterly aware of how little the Confederation had done to help juxtaposed with what the humans had done out of their innate kindness. There is no way we can ever repay them for the gift of life, the survival of our people. And to simply say thanks seemed inadequate.
I’d spoken to one of the human search and rescue teams during a meal. Yrsa Hellström told me that just our simple survival was not good enough. She wanted our people to thrive and if we did so, then that was thanks enough for her. The concept was alien to me. In Confederation society, such acts incur debts that last generations.
“Oh! I forgot about Ael’la and the children. I left them in the basement.”
“I need to get back inside to the radios. I will tell her it is safe to come out. You stay here and enjoy the show.”
I don’t know how long I stood there, gazing at the brightening skies. Even as the sun peaked over the horizon, I could still see the rivers of light. I was so engrossed with the spectacle I did not realize I was no longer alone until I heard someone speak my name.
“Good morning, Reilla.” I recognized Op'olat’s voice right away. He’d spent quite a bit of his free time with me. I did not know if he was wanting friendship or something more. And if he wanted something more, I did not know how I felt about that just yet. So many people had lost their mates in the past weeks. I was not one of them, but I had lost the one I’d planned on marrying in the first few days. I’d not had much time to think of Hav’ed lately. I’d only had time to survive until our rescue. And after that, I’d been busy here, helping those less fortunate.
“Good morning, Op'olat.” His name meant ‘generous laughter’ in the old tongue. He lived up to the name. He was both generous and funny, even amongst all of this. He never missed the opportunity to make others laugh and was an endless source of humorous stories. The children adored him. Even the most withdrawn came out of their shells around him.
“The human Ejvar Sivarsson informed me that a Confederation naval force dropped out of hyperspace and threatened their cargo fleet, thinking to force them to leave.”
I shook my head in disgust. “The Confederation could not be bothered to send help, but they could send ships to chase off those that did come to help. Typical Confederation shit. When are the humans leaving?”
“They are not leaving. Apparently, an even larger human naval force had been waiting in hyperspace. Ejvar called them wolfhounds guarding the flock. Whatever that means.”
“Probably something like huuda guarding the atu.” I’d not seen any huuda since the storms hit. The domesticated guard beasts protect the atu flocks from predators. With atu wool being the main source of soft um’idar cloth and our main textile trade product, protecting them was important.
“Hmm. Makes sense,” he replied absently. “But the Confederation fleet thought better of it and left. When the humans detected the radiation storm, they moved all their ships to block it. They had no idea if it would work, but they put themselves in harm's way for us. It was fun to watch, though.”
“It would not have been so if it didn’t work.”
“Lek told me they were ‘in for a penny, in for a pound.’ Humans have a lot of sayings that I do not quite understand. But I looked that one up on their datanet. It means that humans should finish what they started, even though it may be difficult or expensive.”
“Their help has been truly both.”
“I wanted to tell you that the last time I went out foraging, I found some canned ippa fruit and ground multda. I saved a bit for you,” he told me.
Ippa fruit is an expensive delicacy. One that I rarely could afford when fresh. Canned was not as good, but still a rare and delicious treat. Ground multda when steeped in hot water made a wonderful savory drink that is mildly addictive. I’d not had any in weeks. It was just another in a long line of small things he’d done for me. But he did not pry, did not press me.
“Here.” He handed me a pack loaded with the foods. “There’s also some f’lad bread and rivi sweet beans you can share with the children. The should make them happy. I’d give it to them myself, but I’m going out on another mission soon. We got word of some survivors holed up in an abandoned copper mine in the Wyst’adt mountains. They have been drinking contaminated water and have some really sick kids. I should be back by dinner. I’ll see you then.”
“Thank you. I will see you when you get back, I guess.” I did not know what else to say as I watched him head to the human rescue ship.
Less than a minute later, the ship lifted off, heading south. Watching him leave left me with a hollow feeling. I knew enough about trauma to know that it caused people to feel vulnerable and confused. I knew I would eventually have to figure out how I feel about him.

Since I changed them when at an idol my truck feels like it rumbles, which it didnt do before. In addition to feeling like it doesnt accelerate from a stop smoothly.
Did I do something wrong when I changed them? :(
If it matters I put my truck into rock auto, went off the list and got the same ones cheapefaster from amazon. I got platinum ngk.

I had a scary dream
I dreamed I was home alone, and my nana drove to my house in a hurry. I went on the porch to greet her, and she was out of breath and had tears streaming down her face. I asked her what was wrong, and she said, "Everything is gone. My home burned down. I don't know what happened!" I try to calm her down. I then looked over to my neighbor's house and noticed that their Christmas lights had went up in flames. Soon their house was in flames. I quickly pulled out my phone to call 911, but I kept fumbling to open my phone. I eventually did, but then I struggled to call 911. I finally called them, and they arrived at my neighbor's house, but my nana kept saying it was too late to call them. I started panicking because I didn't see anyone run out of the house.

2023.06.03 05:49 Globalksp Instax Mini 90 Neo Classic is Draining Its Li-Ion Batteries
We have and love the Mini 90 Neo Classic. Unfortunately, it's started eating batteries and can't figure out why or how to diagnose and fix.
Here's what went down: went on vacation and forgot the Li-Ion charger. When the battery died, I bought an aftermarket charger that swelled and destroyed the original battery. Ordered off brand replacement batteries off of Amazon. They powered the camera on, but would die within hours if left in the camera whether camera was on or off. Ordered 2 legit Fuji batteries and same thing.
So, it's the camera. Seems that a rare few have had this issue, but I haven't found anyone who has found a solution. Needless to say, the fiance is quite displeased about this 😬

2023.06.03 05:47 Tacocatufotofu UFO lights theory and propulsion
First off. Love the show but I do miss the semi-skeptical let’s explore all possibilities attitude from past seasons. I like the science based approaches because personally the idea of ETs or whatever existing doesn’t excite me as much as the technology that could exist.
In any case, I’ve had a theory for a while now that I kinda wanted to put out there. There’s a couple things that have always struck me as odd…
- Lights. What’s the point of having them really? For airplanes it’s safety, but for these objects what is the purpose?
- Speed. Anything moving at the speeds we’ve seen from some videos, it’s not only unnatural but possibly impossible without turning into a ball of fire.
So seems to me that whatever propulsion system these UAPs use must have something to do with eliminating friction all together. For instance one of the videos released by the government shows an object seemingly moving in and out of water. There’s no way that’s possible, unless what drives it is literally repelling the environment around it.
Next I think the lights are a byproduct of the system, perhaps entirely unintentional. To me the lights could be an interaction of an EM field with the air around it.
Perhaps they don’t operate with “anti-gravity” at all. What if it was an EM field, maybe something very high powered running at a certain popular frequency that’s oddly getting talked about a lot lately along with sightings, producing light as it interacts with the environment, can maneuver through the atmosphere as if it’s weightless because it’s parting the air in front of it.
Crazy probably, I know, but I can’t shake the idea that maybe theorizing on how what has been caught on video could be possible might just be the key to solving who or what is behind it. Anyway, just wanted to get the idea out there…
