My sleepless dream ends with an alarm, the pounding klaxon of mission start. The whirring of servos and pump of hydraulics brings my body to full readiness, ready for one last ticket.
The Woman from Angeri gave us this mission. She gave it to us and us alone. For the glory of all Mankind she said, strike at the heart of the Imperium. Bloody their nose in a way they’ll never forget.
The pilot, a good one from Yord, helps me get into gear. Everything from the combat armor, thrusters, and the ever-important Agamemnon device.
Myself and the rest of my team step into the waiting airlock, turning on the armor seals and tapping into the armor air reserves. The chamber depressurizes before the airlock finally opens. We jump outside the deployment vessel and switch our radios on, waiting for the signal to begin our descent to the world below.
“Mayday, Mayday, this is the Independent Trader Timberwolf,”
“Acknowledged Timberwolf, how may we assist,” came the response from the Imperial highport authorities.
“I don’t know, there seems to be an issue with the jump fuel li-” the captain began to say before the ship suddenly went up in a ball of white. The captain played her part beautifully, and the wreckage would act as our cover to hot drop onto the world.
Thrusters activate and I deploy my heat shield as I gun for the palace. The Coalition will be sorry to lose that pilot, she got us right over target.Now initially the Imps didn’t seem too perturbed. Debris from a ship that small would just burn up in atmosphere, no skin off their back, but they did get worried seeing five little metallic things drop from high orbit right over the palace. We made it to about cloud level before they scrambled fighters. Pretty good all be told.
Jond did his part too, he flipped around and pushed his thrusters to meet the oncoming jets. As he did so I activated the Agamemnon device. Jond got off about four rockets, splashing four of the jets, before he got taken out.
The rest flew around like headless chickens, this hot and heavy device strapped to my back cast out hundreds of false sensor pings for them to follow, blinding them in all capacities except the MK. 1 eyeball.
Even then, we were small, we were fast, and we were refracting light thanks to these cloaks. Imps never knew what hit em as we finally made touch down in the gardens of the palace. Asha, Nargör, and Dekan went to make a nuisance of themselves, sliver guns out and on the bounce.
The shoulder mounted plasma gun took out the main door, and some poor Imp standing behind it. I stormed into a room of Imperial marines, guns in hand, and practically as reflex I washed em out with hypersonic slivers. This ballistic computer was worth every penny of Coalition dime as I ripped holes into Imp after Imp.
One poor bastard even tried to knife me, as if a little knife is going to stop the one-ton steel abomination that is me. I ripped his head off and continued further into the palace. Everywhere I go is decorated with frescoes, paintings, and statues depicting all the glories of Mankind they revere, and everything that drove them to conflict with us. I find it a bit arrogant, but mine is not to question why.
A few Imps try to interrupt my thoughts, but again they are ripped apart by slivers on reflex. They even bothered to set-up a heavy laser emplacement at the end of the hallway, not that it does them any good. They burn through a decent chunk of my left arm as I rolled out of the way and down a side passage. A quick particulate grenade obscures their next shot, and a plas grenade silences the gun. That was a very quick response, clearly not enough though.
Pushing through a few more isolated bands of Imps, I find the rather gaudy throne room with its big golden doors. Left arm is at reduced effectiveness, and I can only guess that most of his personal guard is in the room with him.
Instead of walking through the front door, I push up to the ceiling. Hanging there I bore through it with a breaching charge, and emerge up on the roof. I find a rather surprised team of snipers who are quickly dispatched by my saka after I leap at them.
Dropping down from the skylight I make ready to dispatch the Emperor’s personal guard, only to find none. Just an old man on a gaudy throne.
“My sons and daughters have already evacuated the palace Coalition Man,”
“They were not our target,”
“Truly? You have far more restraint than my generals it would seem,"
“Call it a difference in philosophy,” I said, and at that the Emperor of the Empire of the Mind laughed long and deep.
“I know you find me repugnant Coalition Man, but would you honor a final request?”“Depends,”
“I wish to fall on my sword,”
“Then do it,” I said, to which the Emperor gave a simple nod.
There the Emperor drew from his throne a long blade, and succeeded in his final will. I took his head, and split his spine to ensure there was no recovery.
“Target eliminated. Adiri 1-5, report,”
“War Cabinet eliminated. Adiri 2,”
“Engaging the enemy. Adiri 3,”
“I am near overrun. Adiri 4,”
“Mission success, say your final prayers,”
No Imps come to avenge their emperor. Maybe they’re distracted? Or cowards. Either way, it seems I have a moment. I sit on this throne, this paltry thing of stone and gold that enables little men to end millions. Don’t know what I expected. It's a little vindicating to deliver the death he so flippantly affected back to him and his councilors, each of which could have schemed to prevent this. When my soul goes to Orz, to the living Void, I think he’ll find this all very funny. It's been long enough, I confirm the self-destruct order.
It burns for only a moment.

so i have a 2015 toyota prius c, i recently got into an accident with it and ever since afterwards my gas tank hasn’t been filling up all the way (usually fills up to 8 gallons but now will only fill up to 4-5). additionally, my gas gauge reading is all off where it’ll bounce up and down and not give me an accurate reading.
i took it into an auto body shop and they gave it a look, however they stated that there is no physical damage to the underside or the gas tank and all the vent lines at the tank are clear. does anybody know what the problem could be and how to fix it? i also hear that this is a common design issue with prius’s and to just rotate the gas pump but i don’t want to overfill in case there is an issue.

I don't know what else to say tbh. I'm 26... or 27? I don't even remember and I'm too tired to do the math. I know that's pretty young, but I've spent 10 years married to a controlling husband. He eventually mellowed out but the damage was done and I have no self esteem, no friends, no support system. My parents are equally toxic, but technically I could go move in with them. But I love my house. I don't want to move out. So I don't. And neither does he. Also we've got a kid, because I only made smart choices in life.
Every piece and part of life has slowly but surely been flaking off like necrotic flesh and now I'm a pile of bones that even the rats aren't interested in anymore. I want to sleep but I don't want to die, but I don't want to wake up either, but I don't want to get bedsores rotting away on my mattress.
The fuckiest part is that I'm not even that depressed when my husband isn't around. The longer I go without seeing him the brighter my days get. I become productive, I move, I feel like I can actually inhale and get oxygen in my blood. Then he comes around and I crumble.
He knows exactly how to Ted Bundy his way through our social group and convince them he's "not that bad" and then as soon as they leave our home he turns around and yells so loudly at me that he's spitting in my eye - that's not a poetic sentence, sometimes he *literally* gets spit in my eye with how loud and uncontrollably he yells.
And it's not just yelling. It's insults. It's venom. And he tells me *I* am abusive. Just two days ago he told me that he hates me, he doesn't love me anymore, he thinks I'm too sensitive when I cry in reaction to his screaming fits, he thinks I need to "man up" (I'm a woman, by the way...). And about four days ago he told me I'm a "bore" of a wife, I've never been a good wife, he despises me. He insinuated but didn't directly say that I'm a bad mom. He just made a list of all the things he does as a dad and then said, "what do ***you*** do?" and told me I was twisting his words when I asked him not to say I'm a bad mom.
You may be wondering - did I do anything to incite this? I literally don't know. And he refuses to tell me. Sometimes he says its my "tone" but won't explain what the fuck that even means. I have high-functioning autism, most of it is just presented in me acting weird or misunderstanding. ***What the fuck is this "tone" hes talking about?!*** I don't even think it's the autism, because sometimes I CAN notice tone (I know how to recognize sarcasm, usually). I think he's just fucking with me tbh.
I am so. so. so. so slowly trying to build myself a source of income. Half the time I'm trying to sell my shitty art, and half the time I'm trying to build a little business I've been passionate about for a few months now. Nothing big, but hopefully lucrative enough to find SOME way out of this armpit of a life I'm living. I wish I could write stories and sell them, because I love to write, but honestly I'd only be able to pump out hatred fueled stories about my fucking life. And idk who's going to buy those.
I don't even know what I'm saying anymore. I'm tired. I haven't been hugged by anyone but my son in months. I rarely have an appetite. And now my husband has me taking a new antidepressant I didn't want to take (SSRIs interact with my other medications, dulling them) and I'm just waiting for the world to lose color again. To become even more dull, grey, and dead than it already is. To suck me under the slowly flowing waves of tar that slowly fill my eyeballs as I drown.
I have so many ways I could kill myself at my fingertips, sometimes I just stare at them for looong periods of time. I couldn't ever do it because then I'd be leaving my son here in this metaphorically mold-ridden home. So I just stare. And stare some more. And I don't even play video games anymore. I could turn on RimWorld right now. I see the icon right there, on my desktop. But no. I don't have it in me to click those buttons. I'm so fucking tired.
Honestly, if anyone just has SOMETHING nice to say to me, I'd be so grateful. Even just a fun fact. Even a not-so-fun fact. I am morbidly curious about everything. Curiosity will kill this cat one day, but it hasn't yet. Just SOMEONE say SOMETHING to me so I don't feel like a hysterical prank-experiment on the Truman show.

Hi! Im a bit new to this biking business and i bought a lightly used F750 GS a few months back (4000 km 2018). I put about 2k km on it so far, but started noticing an unpleasant whine from the front of the bike when the throttle is fully open. The weird thing is that this doesnt happen when opening the throttle to eg. 90%, but only when fully opening the throttle. Its also more noticable at lower rpm (probably because the bike gets louder at higher rpm). The sound is high pitched and resembles some fuel pump whine videos i found, and seems to be in sync with the pistons and not just a constant whine. Kind of like fresh sneakers squeaking on the court floor? If anyone had similar problems i would greatly appreciate some advice on what to check and if this is something to worry about. Thanks!!

I’d like to remove my seats and use the car to travel & sleep. Not long term, just for long drives exploring when I can. I can’t afford to stay in hotels. Although gas will be an issue, its not so bad in a small car. Any advice from anyone who has done this?

On the beginning of my roses before the engine temp hits around 210 degrees my throttle won’t hit higher RPM to even reach 60mph but returns to normal at 215 degrees plus. Is it normal ? I was thinking maybe I should replace the fuel pump or fuel pump filter

So the title says it all. I've narrowed it down to three vehicles, Two of which are hybrids and one an EV.
The two hybrids Im considering and is in my price range (25K) is the 2013-2014 Honda Accord Hybrid with around 60-90ks fresh imports from japan (Grade 4) or the 2018-2019 Toyota Corolla with 40-50ks. The EV Im considering is the 2016-2017 Nissan Leaf.
I really like the look of the Accord and the 2013-2014 Honda Accords was the pinnacle era of Honda but I'm just concerned about the hybrid battery with the potential to replace it (I called Honda and they said replacing those batteries will cost 5k incl. labour) . The responsible part of my mind is going with the Corolla or the Leaf as it's more recent and less likely for problems but looking at the Corolla/Leaf doesn't make me excited to drive it.
I was hoping you guys and ladies could put some sense into me and help me decide. Should I be worried about a 10 yr old hybrid car? Or should I just go for the Corolla/Leaf?
For more context, I'm a student, not married but have a partner and will probably be just using the car for daily commuting and the occasional roadtrips on the weekends (Dunedin to Christchurch or Dunedin to Queenstown)
Any other advice would be great, cheers.

Hello, I have found a Toyota Corolla for sell with 100k miles and am wondering if it is a good deal. Price is $13,000. With used car prices falling recently, would this be a steal or would it be better to hold off and let prices continue to fall?

Estabamos buscando algo entre 12-13 millones de pesos aprox (25-27k usd). Para comprar algun otro segmento C: Autos de segmento C cada vez veo menos, solo vi 1. Nissan Sentra (no conozco muchas opiniones y no se que como andan con el tema de entregas y sobre precio) 2. Chevrolet Cruze (lo unico que no me cierra es el tema de que creo que lo van a dejar de fabricar este año, pero no se cuanto me afecte esto) 3. Toyota Corolla: Me parece uno de los mas redondos en cuanto a posventa, garantia, equipamiento, etc. Pero no le gusta a mi madre el diseño.
Y sino SUV (no me encantan pero es lo que hay). Igual creo que dentro del presupuesto lo unico que hay de segmento C es el Toyota Corolla Cross, creo que las demás de segmento C estan más caras.
El tema de los toyotas hibridos que me preocupa en el futuro es la reventa y el mantenimiento, no quiero comerme un clavo de que después nadie la sepa arreglar si pasa algo.
Así que bueno, no se si alguien tiene alguna opinion o recomendación

2008 ML350 4MATIC I had to replaced a dead fuel pump but now my gauge only reads from full to half tank and doesn’t read past there.
Any ideas? I’ve seen folks mention a sensor for or in the left tank but the pump’s in the right tank...
Anyone ever experience or have this fixed?

I'm looking to get a heat pump installed and I'm set between a dual fuel system. York (HMH75T) and Rheem (RP2060BJVCA).
What do you all think? I've considered Mitsubishi but seems like York and rheem are more appropriate for dual fuel.

Just under 400,000km on it. I did a very dumb thing - I was running it on empty. The check engine light was going on and off, but eventually it just stayed on.
What I'm asking is this: I would like to make a list of EVERY SINGLE THING I would need to fix/replace to make the entire fuel and combustion system function 100% perfectly. Besides the engine itself, I'm hoping I don't have to replace that for now. But I don't mind putting some money into it.
So far, I think it could be: fuel pump, fuel injectors, catalytic converter, throttle body.
What other parts are involved in the combustion system?

Car has ran rich for a while now, drives fine so I haven’t really thought much of it. Got the urge recently to fix it, and my first thought was my injectors could be bad. I had thought the owner put in some aftermarket ones but upon searching, the injectors are OEM style and shouldn’t be causing an issue. Injectors aren’t eliminated as a possibility but I’m more so pointing at something in the fuel pump now. Yesterday, I took my fuel pump out just to inspect what I’m working with in the fuel system, and I took out the fuel pressure regulator, looked around it, and put it back in. It was the only thing i really touched in the whole assembly because it is a key suspect in running rich. I’ve never worked on a fuel pump before so I was just curious on what it all looked like. When I went to start my car, the car is now running richer, producing more of a smell than ever and the fuel trims are reading very negative. (short fuel trim is -20.) Should I be getting a new fuel pressure regulator?

I went to go look at a 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport-MT today... The dealer in question wanted 38K for it. On the same lot was a 2021 Nissan Titan with similar mileage and very well equipped.
For under 40k would you guys go for a TRD Tacoma Sport (Manual, more aftermarket support, Toyota build quality and resale value) or Titan (Bigger truck, 400hp V8 without a big penalty for fuel economy)

I have only very limited skills with fixing car issues and I've noticed over the last few months my headlights, when not on high beams, are quite dim. Recently my car battery will be flat and need jump-starting quite often even after long trips.
I have been reading online and it's stated that replacing an alternator is actually quite easy but I need to know if this means easy for someone mechanically minded or for someone like me who has only done simple things like spark plugs, oil changes and battery replacements.

I just scheduled the drop-off appointment for my Corolla, it's a lease with just under 2 months left on it. I get that I sign over the car and then Carvana buys it from Toyota, but how does reporting it to the DMV work, since it was a lease and it's not like I ever had the title to begin with? This is only my 2nd car and I went from one Toyota to another when my last lease ended and basically didn't have to do anything. Does Carvana give you paperwork to take to the DMV? I'm in Virginia if that matters.
This all just feels vaguely too good to be true - rather than just turning in my lease I'm getting nearly $7K in positive equity - and I'm trying to come up with things that could go wrong at this point.
