Hello!
Looking for a static to prog the rest of this tier with. Stepped away from savage raiding for a while since e4s when a majority of the friends I played with quit. Came back to Savage raiding this tier and progressed through p9-p11s the first week through pf. My current prog point is p12s phase 1 para 3.
Would like to join a static that is working on 12 or close to it, or one just for 12s. Tired of sitting in the pf for an hour to barely make any progress because someone isn't consistent at that point or someone leaves after 30 minutes of prog after an hour of waiting in the queue. Already cleared p9-11 this week. I would like to clear 12 this week. So I am very open and prefer longer playtimes/more days until it is killed. Hopefully reclears will be one day a week once we kill. Not looking for split clears. Have no alts.

With all that said, I have been progressing in PF, so although those are my personal favorite strategies and the ones I am familar with, I am open to others as I had to be all through the progression so far. I am currently I-lvl 644, been pretty unlucky with gear drops so far, so have only got gloves.

Chapter Eleven:
Walking into a dimly lit basement, I looked down at the cracked concrete floor. The room smelled of old drainage and expired cleaning products. I turned around to see the mirror I’d just crawled out of and caught sight of the Intrinsic Pathways chamber fading back into my reflection.
A simple white plastic border surrounded the glass surface. The thing was barely big enough for me to fit through. Barsilla didn’t have any trouble, though — the benefit of being a piskie and only a few inches tall.
She darted up to my shoulder and hid herself in my hair.
“I’m glad you’ve been growing your hair out,” she said.
A moment later, the piskie stuck her head out of my hair and added, “And I’m also glad you switched to the pineapple and raspberry shampoo.”
I rolled my eyes. Today I was playing carriage to the queen’s left-hand lady in the human world. And I could already tell it was going to be a test of my nerves. I’d never spent an extended time with Barsilla before, primarily because she was a bit scolding and judgmental.
But today came with an important mission before we left for Kilgara tomorrow. We needed to make contact with a powerful fae that lived in the human world.
“How can a fae live in the human world full-time? Wouldn’t that be a death sentence with all the iron and the lack of glamour?” I’d asked my queen.
“You’ll see,” was all she said before sending me here to accompany Barsilla. And by accompany, she meant carry.
The piskie looked around the little room we’d appeared in. It was a small space with concrete walls and floors. Against one wall a shelf of cleaning supplies stood, along with a mop and a janitor’s cart on wheels.
“Where are we?” I asked.
A grimy voice from the ceiling made me jump. I looked around to find the source.
“You’re in the basement of Ssorc Insurance Arena,” a masculine-presenting fae said. When I finally found him, my eyes widened.
In one of the ceiling corners hung a spider-like faery about a foot tall. When I got a closer look, I saw he had the body of a tiny man but a thorax and four narrow legs behind him that clung to the wall.
His front arms were crossed as he looked down at us. Eight brown and black eyes spread across his forehead kept a close watch on us.
“Hello there,” he said, waving a tiny hand. “Name’s Jello. Welcome to Portland.”
I raised a finger and opened my mouth to speak.
“Because he likes to eat Jell-O,” Barsilla said from inside my hair.
I lowered my finger and closed my mouth, nodding. That made plenty of sense. Maybe I could change my name to Chicken Nugget.
“You’re not going to come out and say hello to your old friend, Barsilla?” Jello called with a grin revealing two fangs and additional mandibles.
Her voice called out from in my hair.
“I’m quite good here, thanks.”
I raised an eyebrow. Barsilla sounded a little scared, which was a first for me. I’d always been put in my place by the tiny creature so long as we were in the palace. Here, her voice wavered, and she grabbed my hair a little more tightly than when we first arrived.
Truth be told, I was torn. Part of me wanted to rub it in, maybe jokingly hand her over to the spider dude. And the other half of me wanted to show mercy, because even when I get a chance to show vengeance. . . I’m not good at taking it. It took me years to destroy my abusive father, and he hurt me daily.
So, I decided not to push the issue.
“Alright, Jello. That’s enough,” I said, laughing.
To his credit, the spider didn’t exactly seem upset with me pushing back. He rubbed one of his mandibles and looked me up and down.
“You must be the queen’s new pet I’ve heard so much about,” he said.
“That’s me. Werewolf extraordinaire,” I said.
He nodded.
“It’s almost too difficult to believe. Your kind is so rare that for the queen to have ensnared one. . . I’m just left impressed,” he said.
My. . . kind, I thought. Aside from Mom, I’ve never met another like me. And does she even really count? She died when I was a kid.
All I could do was shrug. Maybe we were rare. But the fact that he wasn’t the first fae to mention such a thing did stick out in my mind. The queen had emotional attachments to me. Of that much, I was sure. But to other fae, ones I’d see at Kilgara. . . I’d be a token — no, a specimen.
It’d be like those videos of rich people who own tigers or lions and just let them roam around the house, lying on the couch and shit.
In that case, I’d just have to be all the more threatening to keep their minds off such imagery and more focused on preserving their own lives. Of course, that’d be up to my inner wolf. And I had no doubt she’d be up to the task. Unlike me, she didn’t take shit from anybody.
“Well, Jello. If you come by Featherstone when the Raven Queen holds court, you can see my more visceral self on full display,” I said. “But until then, I’ll ask where we’re supposed to go from here.”
The spider chuckled and looked into my hair, trying to find a certain piskie with his eyes alone. When he didn’t have any luck, Jello rolled his eyes and pointed to a filthy door covered in dust and mold.
“Out that door, up the cement stairs to your left, and outside by the garage. That’ll spit you out onto a path the humans call Free Street,” Jello said.
I thanked him, and we left without Barsilla saying a word. Once I’d started up the stairs, she poked her head out next to my ear and said, “Just for the record, in Faerie, his kind prey upon piskies. They find the best hiding spots in the forest and then drop on any little fae that happens to be hovering over the ground, looking for nuts or fruit.”
This was a tender confession from the tiny person who’d left me paralyzed on the floor during our first meeting. So I put all that aside before I spoke.
“I figured it was something like that. But it’s not like I would have let him do anything to you,” I said.
“Afraid of how your mistress might react?” Barsilla asked.
Shaking my head, I sighed.
“I just know what it’s like to be a tiny thing standing before a giant monster that wants nothing more than to hurt you. You try to shrink yourself down so that the monster doesn’t see you, but it’s never small enough. I always hoped someone would come along when I was trying to shrink myself and snatch me away. So I guess today I just wanted to be the person that would snatch you to safety,” I said, finally spotting a metal door with sunlight streaming in.
Varella’s left-hand lady didn’t say anything for a moment. But right before we got outside, she spoke.
“That’s actually how her majesty found me, you know? I was in the web of someone like Jello, crying out for help. Most faeries ignore such cries since the forest can be filled with them at times. And if you anger a spider, there’s always the chance they’ll scurry off to a Gohma to have her curse you.”
“A Gohma?” I asked.
Barsilla placed both hands on the back of my ear to steady herself as I climbed the last few steps.
“Queens among the spiderlings. Some of them are quite powerful, and once in a while, they’ll curse anyone who causes trouble with their underlings. That is, they’ll curse anyone. . . except for the ruler of a court. Varella happened to be flying by, heard my cries, and for reasons I’ve never been able to figure out, plucked me from the web. The spiderling that was savoring me was too frightened to say a word. He just hid under a bush, waiting for the Raven Queen to fly away. I’ve served her loyally ever since,” the piskie said.
Holy shit. Am I bonding with the piskie? I thought, again squashing the temptation to say something mocking of the little fae which could and would get revenge when we returned to Featherstone.
At that moment, Lady Bon-Hwa’s words came back to me. She said I craved legitimacy from beings that wore many masks.
Had Barsilla just dropped hers?
“How you felt when she plucked you from the web, Barsilla?” I started. She gripped my ear a little tighter. “That’s how I felt the day I struck the bargain with my mistress. Like she’d pulled me out of the jaws of death or something.”
I heard the piskie rub her chin.
“So when you submit to the queen, it’s about more than a simple pleasure for you. Immense gratitude is also mixed in there somewhere,” she said.
Clearing my throat, I felt heat rush to my cheeks. Barsilla was the last person I wanted to discuss submissiveness with. I’d talk about it with Ceras before her. And even they weren’t high on the list.
Walking outside, I heard the cries of gulls above us and heard a couple boys laughing as their mother walked by with a shopping bag that said “Remys” on it. Now that was a store I remembered. My father dragged me there more times than I could count. And it was always a long haul down to Bangor to visit.
The sky above us was cloudy, and a chilly wind gusted by occasionally, bringing with it smells of a harbor not too far away. A normal person wouldn’t smell it from this distance. But I could smell boat fuel and seafood.
“Do you remember the address?” I asked Barsilla.
“I remember the way from here. The last time I came to the human city of Portland it was through a different pathway. But if you walk down a block and turn left, it’ll spit you out on a path called Congress Street.”
Doing as I was told, I found myself on what appeared the be the busiest street in downtown Portland. Barsilla guided me with whispers to continue onward past the downtown square where a statue of a large woman stood overlooking dozens of people shopping or visiting restaurants or coming out of the public library.
I read a message on the side that said, “To her sons who died for the Union.”
Barsilla whispered, “I’ve never understood that message. What’s the Union? Some kind of human court?”
Sighing and shaking my head, I tried to figure out the easiest way to explain this particularly bloody piece of U.S. history.
“A couple centuries back, this country tore itself in two. There was the Confederacy and the Union. People from Maine, that’s where we are now, fought for the Union, which tried to put the country back together again.”
“Did the Union succeed?”
I nodded.
“They won the war, but a lot of shit happened afterward I don’t want to get into. And when I left this place to move into Featherstone — well, let’s just say I’d rather live in Faerie than any part of this world,” I said.
With the guidance of Varella’s left-hand lady, we continued walking down Congress Street for at least a mile before she told me to make a turn. We walked past an old Italian grocery store, turned again, and finally arrived at a dentist's office.
“Big Smiles? What kind of name is that?” I asked, looking inside.
“The name of a business where mortals go to get their teeth fixed because they don’t have glamour to do it for them. Consider yourself fortunate the palace healers make this place unnecessary in Faerie,” Barsilla said, tapping on my ear for me to go inside.
Sighing, I did as I was told. . . again.
Unlike most dentist’s offices I’d been in, this one was immaculately clean and polished. Behind two receptionists stood a wall covered entirely in ivy. And it was real. I smelled its vegetative scent from where I stood.
To my right stood a glass wall with a water feature running underneath the reflective surface.
A little transparent refrigerator sat next to some uncomfortable wooden chairs, and it was filled with bottled water.
“Hi there!” one of the receptionists said. He appeared to be freshly graduated from college and wore a button-down shirt and black pants. His nametag said “Jace,” and had “He/Him” pronouns listed underneath.
“Uh, hi,” I said, trying to remember the coded message my mistress taught me before leaving Featherstone. “I need to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. I’m trying to get the shinest teeth in all the land.”
I resisted the urge to slap my face in embarrassment. What kind of stupid code was that? This receptionist was just as likely to throw me out as he was to find me a nightmare fae by the name of Dramyra.
Jace snickered a little and said, “Well, who doesn’t love shiny teeth? And we’ve got a great new polishing technique our dentists just started using this month.”
An older woman’s voice spoke from behind me.
“That won’t be necessary, Jace. I’ll see her now.”
Jace looked surprised.
“Are you sure, Dr. Murphy? I think you’ve got an appointment in 15,” he said.
The voice behind me waved off his concern.
“Just have Melissa take care of that one. This is important.”
Jace scratched his wavy brown hair and nodded before punching something into his keyboard. I could only assume he was editing an appointment at the last minute.
When I turned to see who’d been giving orders to the receptionist, I spotted a woman who appeared to be in her early 50s leaning around a corner. She wore a long white jacket and had eyes the color of jasper. As I stared, she blinked horizontally instead of vertically like every other human I’d met.
As my eyes widened, she smiled, and I noticed an inhuman pointedness to her teeth. . . all four rows of them.
“Why don’t you come this way, and I’ll get you settled?” the fae said.
I gulped and nodded, suddenly getting the heebie-jeebies from this person I was going to follow into a private area.
Dr. Murphy led me past an X-ray room, a couple rooms with kid-sized dentist seats and small televisions mounted on the roof, and an employee bathroom.
At last, we came to her private office, and she opened the door, motioning for me to enter. When I hesitated, she said, “Oh come now. I wouldn’t be so foolish as to harm one hair on the Raven Queen’s pet. Few would be that dumb.”
Walking inside the surprisingly plain office, I was greeted by a tiny sofa, a mini fridge, a marker board, and a skylight. The walls were painted beige, and a desktop computer sat over in the corner on a screensaver with fish swimming by.
I took a seat on the sofa, and our faerie host closed the door behind us, locking it, which caused me to gulp again.
As soon as the door was closed, the fae dropped her glamor, and before me stood a five-foot-tall woman with pointed ears, turquoise skin, and a shaved head. When she smiled, I saw those four rows of razor teeth and two tongues, one purple, one red.
Her eyes now blinked vertically every few seconds, and they were the color of sand.
Black curled horns hung down from the back of the faerie’s skull, wrapping around her ears and ending in spiky white tips.
The faerie leaned against her door and stared down at her claws, which were painted a shade of crimson.
“Dramyra,” Barsilla said, flying out from my hair and bowing her head. “It’s been some time.”
The fae did not seem very impressed at the piskie’s sudden appearance.
“Well well. . . if it isn’t the Raven Queen’s left-hand lady. I don’t recall receiving a letter warning of your arrival.”
Now I spoke up, bowing my head.
“Apologies. The queen has been busy preparing for a trip to Kilgara. She didn’t mean to offend by sending us without an announced arrival,” I said.
I shivered when Dramyra’s sandy eyes looked me over. It felt like. . . like it wasn’t just her eyes watching me, but her shadow’s eyes as well. And I didn’t like that one bit. She smelled of vetiver and leather. It was a strange combination that seemed to whisper much more was hiding beneath the surface.
“First time seeing a nightara?” Dramyra asked, watching me shiver for the third time in the last hour. It wasn’t like the room was cold. Rather, it felt like her glamor kept brushing up against me and light scraping over my arms.
“What’s a—” I started, rather stupidly.
Barsilla cut me off.
“Dramyra is a nightmare faerie. Her sister rules the Nightmare Court.”
“Well just give her my life story, why don’t you, Barsilla?” Dramyra sassed, folding her arms and locking with my eyes.
The room fell silent.
I sure as hell didn’t know what to say, so I did what I always did in that situation. . . asked a dumb question.
“Excuse me, Dramyra?”
She smiled at me.
“Yes, royal pet?”
I do not like it when she calls me that, I thought. In fact, I don’t like it when she calls me anything.
Taking a deep breath as Barsilla turned to flash me a look that said, “Be careful, puppy,” I raised an eyebrow.
“My mistress said you lived here in the human world permanently. I was wondering. . . how you survived here in a world of iron and without any glamour?”
Dramyra ran a finger down one of her arms.
“Well, for starters, all of my tools here in the office aren’t made of iron. They’re custom designed from silver. Not an ounce of iron here. And I assure you, I have all the glamour I need.”
I must have looked like I had more questions because Dramyra pointed a finger at me.
“You must not have a solid grasp on how glamour works. Glamour isn’t something that just exists naturally in this world or Faerie. Rather, fae produce glamour by feeding. Different fae feed in different ways. Your queen feeds off your affections as well as the power of her throne itself. And I. . . well, I feed off the fear of others.”
That sounded pretty damn terrifying. . . which I’m sure was exactly the effect Dramyra must have intended because she just laughed when I slunk down into the couch.
“Oh relax. It’s not so bad. I learned a few decades ago that there are some things mortals fear collectively as a species. And one of them?”
It clicked in my head.
“The dentist! I fucking hated visiting the dentist. Growing up, there was no place more terrifying. With every visit, I was petrified that I needed yet another filling or maybe even a root canal.”
Dramyra looked pleased with my figuring it out.
“Exactly. So, knowing this, I disguised myself as a dentist, opened this business, and the mortals bring me their terrified children every single day. All I have to do is walk up and down the hall with a mask on my face, looking at paperwork, and nobody suspects a thing. The entire office fills with fear, which I devour, and then I can produce all the glamour I need.”
When I realized this, it was kind of ingenious. This was like. . . the ultimate business model for a nightmare fae like Dramyra. And if this place went belly up, she could always disguise herself as an IRS agent. Though that might get her more anger than fear.
Barsilla cleared her throat.
“Oh, yes. You were getting ready to explain why you showed up without warning. Well, go on, little piskie,” Dramyra said, her smile fading as she turned her attention back to Varella’s left-hand lady.
Pulling out her little clipboard and an even smaller pencil, the piskie looked over a few things as if she was steadying herself for what had to be said.
“Queen Varella is officially calling in her favor. Decades ago, she hid you—”
“I know why I owe her,” Dramyra snapped, her sandy eyes glowing orange. “You can skip that part.”
Barsilla quickly crossed something off on her papers.
“Right, well, she wants you to make a request to your sister, the Nightmare Queen. Her majesty informed me Queen Trylla will grant you anything you ask of her.”
The nightara rubbed her chin as she leaned against the wall even more.
“It’s true. My little sister adores me. Though I don’t know what the Raven Queen would want from her.”
I looked back and forth between the fae, finding myself wondering about how my mistress hid the nightmare fae before me. What were the circumstances? Was it a witness protection kind of thing? Did faeries even have need of that?
It’s not like they can call some vacuum store and vanish to Alaska, I thought, scratching the back of my head.
Barsilla looked down at her notes, not meeting Dramyra’s eyes when she relayed my mistress’ request.
“The Raven Queen wants you to ask your sister for her vote in Kilgara.”
Silence filled the room again as I heard Barsilla’s tiny heart beating like that of a hummingbird. She was sweating a little, too. But Dramyra’s mood changed almost instantly. She laughed louder than I’d heard before and threw her head back.
“Ahahahaha! So, Queen Varella is making a move for Bliss. How interesting! Not in a thousand years would I have guessed such a thing. That ought to make for a very interesting summit with the other courts.
Suddenly this mission of great importance made more sense. My mistress sent us to cash in a favor so she could try and stack the deck before we gathered with the other rulers of Faerie to decide who would host Bliss.
The nightara locked eyes with me, and I felt more gooseflesh crawling over my arms and thighs. I really wished she would stop doing that.
“Very well, piskie. I will do as the Raven Queen asks. It’s not like I have the power to refuse a favor when I’m in her debt. So you may scurry back with the young wolf here and tell her at least one vote is safely in her corner,” Dramyra said. “As for you, Sierra, I hope you're ready to meet folks even scarier than me. And I’d stick real close to that mistress of yours once you leave the halls of Featherstone. You have no idea just how many lords and ladies of Faerie would love to have themselves a pet werewolf. You’re quite—”
“Rare,” I finished for her. “I’ve heard it before.”
I sounded agitated, but I was just trying to mask my fear. I’d happily submit to my mistress a thousand times. But I was no fool. I knew there were cruel immortals all through Faerie that would find worse ways to hurt me than my father ever could have.
And we were off to a summit where they’d all be gathered.
As we left the dentist, I hoped and prayed my inner wolf had gotten at least a few memories of today and would understand she needed to carry the visage of an absolute killer.
I didn’t want to end up in the clutches of a nightara. . . or worse.

2023.06.08 06:51 BusinessDuck1234 Crests from Pokemon Rejuvenation are added to the game: Part 2

I already covered the first 11 crests here, but to just go over the basics again, Pokemon Rejuvenation is a fan game that adds items called crests, which are meant to make bad pokemon better. Also, I'm not an expert on competitive pokemon, so if i'm wrong about something, feel free to correct me in the comments
Delcatty Crest: If held by a Delcatty, this item adds 10% of every stat (with the exception of HP) from all unfainted Pokémon in the controlling trainer's party
Was going to talk about how trash this is, but fortunately i reread the page on the wiki. Incase you're dumb like me and didn't understand, this isn't 10% of delcatty's stats. It's 10% of the stats of the other pokemon in its party. This means if you have a bunch of good special attackers in your party, delcatty will now have pretty good special attack. Same with bulk, or speed, or attack, you get the idea. This makes delcatty very customizable, and obviously seems like one of the pokemon to rise up in tiering thanks to this crest boost. And since its power scales with the power of its teammates, it could rival stuff like pelipper and torkoal for the biggest rise in viability. I'm honestly not sure how this thing would be handled in the tiering sense, because in a tier with a lower power level, it becomes much weaker, so it could be struggling in ZU but thriving in OU for example. All things considered, one of the most substantial buffs given by a crest, and Arceus does this thing need it.
Druddigon Crest: If held by a Druddigon this item grants a 30% damage bonus to Dragon- and Fire-type moves. When the holder of this item is hit by a damaging Fire type move, its HP is restored by 1/4th of its maximum HP, and the move will have no effect on that Pokémon (if the holder already has full HP, the Fire type move will do nothing). This effect can be ignored with the Mold Breaker ability and its variants. If harsh sunlight is active, a Druddigon holding this item will restore 1/8th of its maximum HP at the end of each turn.
Might be a good partner for torkoal in trick room, but realistically, there are better pokemon that actually belong in OU that can fill that role. Definitely gonna be great on lower tier sun teams, since it can run tera steel for a good defensive typing and not have to worry about boosted sun moves.
Dusknoir Crest: If held by a Dusknoir this item increases the Pokémon's Attack stat by 20%. It also increases the power of moves with 60 BP or less used by 50%. (exactly like the Technician Ability).
Fine, I'll post the stupid calc. 252+ Atk Iron Fist Dusknoir Ice Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Landorus-Therian on a critical hit: 420-496 (109.9 - 129.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO. In all seriousness, technician shadow sneak is really nice to have. And a boost to attack never hurt anybody. Still far from good, but at least might be decent as a sort of lower tier breloom.
Empoleon Crest: If held by a Empoleon, this item grants Ice type STAB and doubles Speed in ~~Hail~~ Snow
Slush rush and ice stab are pretty decent buffs to give an already decent pokemon. Shame it still does get outsped by many scarfers even under hail, but passable bulk means it can probably live a neutral hit and retaliate with blizzard, or hydro pump, or knock off to take away the speed advantage from scarf. Similar to Druddigon, might be good on lower tier weather teams
Fearow Crest: If held by a Fearow, this item causes the Sniper ability to always increase Fearow's damage by 50%, instead of only boosting critical hits. Additionally Fearow will always critically hit targets below 50% HP unless they are protected from Critical Hits by their ability (Battle Armor or Shell Armor) or the effect of Lucky Chant.
So this is just a choice band minus the restriction right? Also guaranteed crits below 50% mean that this thing can be a great lategame cleaner if it can outspeed. That's the biggest issue, however, since base 100 speed is basically the average, and atrocious bulk means that if it doesn't outspeed, it will die to most super effective or even powerful neutral hits. Maybe with something like tailwind for speed control, it would be a force to be reckoned with, but without it, Fearow struggles to be good even with the crest
Feraligatr Crest: When held by Feraligatr, this item causes it to have increased priority (+2 priority bracket) on attacking moves during its first turn after being send out. Additionally, it boosts the holder's biting moves (e.g. Bite, Crunch) by 50%.
First impression on your move of choice and free strong jaw and keeping sheer force makes this thing an absolute monster. Almost forgot, it still has dragon dance to set up if it wants. Might just be bias from the fact it was on my team in game, but this thing seems like a monster. I ran max defense and attack on mine, and it was really good, and I didn't even give it dragon dance for setup. Seems like this would bump it up a tier, or at least make it tier king in whatever tier it's in.
Glaceon Crest: If held by a Glaceon, it will cause the user to take resisted (instead of super-effective) damage from Rock and Fighting-type attacks.
They buffed an ice type defensively by removing two of its many weaknesses. Not much to say here
Hypno Crest: If held by a Hypno this item increases the holder's Special Attack by 50% and the Accuracy of the user's moves by 50%.
105% ACCURATE FOCUS BLAST LETS GOOOO! Besides running focus miss as actual coverage, hypno boasts a 90% accurate hypnosis and an amazing boosting option in nasty plot, although it always had the latter. You could also technically use this to make stuff like zen headbutt on physical sets 100% accurate, but no real reason to run those with the free specs boost it gets
Infernape Crest: If held by an Infernape, Attack and Special Attack stats are swapped, respectively, with its Defense and Special Defense stats. Additionally the holder will recover 1/16 of its maximum HP at the end of each turn.
This crest seems to attempt to make infernape more bulky, and it works pretty well, in my opinion. Has a lot of great tools like encore, will-o-wisp, and slack off. Doubt it's gonna be good in OU, since there are some better options there, but it might be good in UU, or at least RU
Leafeon Crest: If held by a Leafeon, it will cause the user to take resisted (instead of super-effective) damage from Fire and Flying-type attacks.
Pretty much the same deal as with glaceon crest. One idea i had is that it might be good in sun teams, since it gets chlorophyll and now resists fire, but besides that nothing of note
Ledian Crest: If held by a Ledian, this item allows its holder to use punching moves (e.g. Power-Up Punch, Ice Punch, etc.) 4 times in a row. Secondary effects of these moves can only trigger on the first 2 uses, the effect also applies to Comet Punch so you can deliver from 8-20 punches.
Who would have known all it took to make ledian decent was to multiply its effective damage by 4x? Decent is the key word, because it's still nothing insane. With power up punch, it gets an effective swords dance boost along with some extra chip. This thing absolutely hates anything bulky with rocky hemet though, and really just bulky pokemon in general. If it manages to get some boosts, it might be able to KO them, but it's still really frail, so they might just finish it off first. But it should still find some niche in lower tiers

This got excessively long, sorry.
I mentioned it here before I left, but I did the Camino de Santiago! I walked from St. Jean Pied-de-Port in France to Santiago de Compostela. Took me about 37 days. I walked about 450km/280miles.
First: It was an amazing experience. Lots of highs and lows, lots of amazing scenery, lots of amazing people, lots of amazing food and wine. If you're thinking of going: do it, if at all possible. At least once a day (usually more) I had a moment of thinking: I cannot believe I get to be here. I cannot believe I get to do this!
I mean, I also got blisters (repeatedly), lost a toenail (possibly two, we'll see), I had a panic over where I was going to sleep that night a few times, the hostels had hard beds and were full of people who snored and people who kept closing the windows no matter how stuffy/hot it was, I've been home a week and I'm still sometimes stiff when I get up after sitting for a while...but it was worth it and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Secondly: while I really appreciated being able to go to Catholic masses at least twice a week and some of them were very moving, boy did it reinforce that I am Episcopalian and not Roman Catholic. The Vibe is just different. It's entirely possible that some of this is just the way Catholicism is done in Spain or even just that part of Spain, but even Sunday mass seemed...kinda perfunctory a lot of the time? I was surprised at how often they skipped the creed entirely, for instance. Communion was sometimes just put in a bowl that was passed around, and was only ever in one form--the priest drank some wine, but nobody else did. And we almost never sang?! I think there was maybe three times we did more than just a few alleluias before the gospel reading. Almost all of them did a pilgrims' blessing after the service, and the priests varied a LOT in how enthusiastic they were about this. Some just ended the service by reading it off at everyone there, some called us up afterward to ask where we were all from and make sure everyone heard or read the prayer in a language they knew. A Franciscan gave us all small stones with a yellow arrow hand-painted on them (he also preached a great sermon, based on what little English he spoke and what little Spanish I understood, as he went back and forth between languages). A group of nuns gave us colorful paper stars they'd cut out while praying for us. On the other hand, there were two churches where after the service, we got lectured on how the RC church is the only TRUE church of Jesus Christ. At one of them the priest specifically tried to convert me and a lovely retired gentleman who is CofE by telling us only the RC church had real apostolic succession, and I made eye contact with the CofE gent and we both nearly laughed. Oops. (The priest only spoke Spanish and was telling us this through a translator, which is probably a blessing because otherwise I don't know if I could've resisted replying with "Well we're both gay and don't think that's a sin, so I don't think you want us.")
(I did have a print-out of the mass in Spanish and English next to each other that I'd taped into my journal so I could follow along, which means I have learned some Spanish that is useless in daily conversation, lol. I also would pull up the readings for the RC lectionary in English on my phone--and there was multiple times I looked around and other pilgrims were doing the same. In related news: their daily readings are much shorter than the ones in our daily office lectionary!)
Thirdly, and possibly ironic considering my last point, I found that praying the rosary while walking (usually via a recording since I walked with trekking poles lol) was really meditative. I also found that when I was having a hard time walking (because it was hot, because my feet hurt, because I was tired, because I was lonely) it was useful to me to pray a decade of the rosary for other people? I would think of someone I cared about, then go into the Our Father etc, counting off the Hail Marys with my fingers; then think of another person, repeat. This had the positive side effect of loosening my death grip on my trekking poles and preventing numbness in my hands! It's funny that I started doing it as a way of distracting myself when I was not enjoying my walk, but when I look back some of my most spiritual moments were those times I was alone and sweaty and my feet were killing me, because I spent that time talking to God about (and asking the Virgin Mary to pray for) people I cared about. I also prayed for a few people I met on the Camino that I found personally unpleasant. This made it easier to be gracious with them when we were inevitably seated together at dinner another day. I should probably learn something from that, lol.
At churches doing daily mass in the evenings, they often did the rosary a half an hour before that. There was a couple of times that the people there (nearly always a handful of middle-aged and elderly Spanish women) were benignly confused by my presence until they saw the beads in my hand and my well-worn leaflet with directions and illustrations of the sets of mysteries. (I still can't say any of the prayers in Spanish, but at least I can usually tell which one they're doing!)
Third: there's an Anglican church and mission in Santiago! I was in Santiago for Pentecost, and while yes of course I went to mass at the cathedral (no huge incense swinging, alas) I also went to the tiny Eucharist at the Anglican mission--I think there was eight of us total including the priest, who was an American woman. But it was such a comfort to hear and say the words of liturgy that I know by heart. (And see a woman priest!) Her sermon connected the wind at Pentecost to the stream of pilgrims walking into the square in front of the cathedral, and noted that despite our different languages, we pilgrims understand each other's joy upon reaching Santiago.
The mission recently bought a pension (a bit like a small hotel or bed and breakfast) and I *think* they're accepting guests. I'm hoping that within the next few years I can spend some time volunteering there--I stayed in many hostels run by volunteers (sometimes locals, sometimes a church and/or nuns, sometimes another country's confraternity of St. James) and they were often my fave places to stay. Fourth: I saw a ton of really old, really gorgeous churches. It sometimes seemed like every tiny village had a startlingly beautiful church (of the ones that were open--some were only open for mass on Sundays, or twice a month, or not at all). I think the oldest one I visited was the Church of Saint Mary of Eunate from the 12th century, but many churches had bits and pieces that were that old or older. My fave church was the Cathedral in Leon (built in the 13th century), which I paid to get into twice (they kicked us out for siesta) because it was so beautiful I kept crying. The stained glass is just spectacular, but honestly everything about it is gorgeous--the cloisters had a series of fresco paintings from (I think) the 1500's of events from the Gospels and Acts that were natural in expression.
The Leon cathedral had amazing wooden carvings in the choir--every seat has a carving of a person from the bible. Praying the daily office paid off unexpectedly: I recognized Saint Simeon, not from the Latin version of his name, or the fact that he was shown holding an infant Jesus, but because the gold lettering around his head started "nunc dimittus..." I could hear the Evening at the Office recording in my head: "Lord, you now have set your servant free, to go in peace as you have promised; For these eyes of mine have seen the savior, whom you have prepared for all the world to see; A Light to enlighten the nations, and the glory of your people Israel."
Fifth: So, St. James the Apostle. He's alllllll over the Camino, for obvious reasons. So many statues and paintings, from cute cartoony images in logos of local businesses, to heavily-gilded statues in many churches. I admit to being amused at how often he was portrayed as an older man with a beard, because he was (famously!) the first Apostle to be martyred--beheaded by a sword on Herod's orders in the book of Acts. He was mostly portrayed as a pilgrim--a pilgrim's cloak, hat with scallop shell, a walking staff and drinking gourd. In a few churches, he was also portrayed as The Moor-Slayer--on horseback with a sword, about to take off someone else's head. St. James the Pilgrim felt like a friend, St. James the Moor-Slayer definitely did not. St James did not, while alive, kill anyone that I'm aware of; but he's the patron saint of Spain in part because of his miraculous help in a battle against the Moors that historians are pretty sure never happened.
A lot of the legends about St. James in Spain are...unlikely. There's just too many instances of "funny how nobody discovered this/thought to write this down until three hundred years later, when it was useful for the church/the current king."
Which means that I've personally spent a lot of time pointing out to people that while it's doubtful his actual bones are in the cathedral at Santiago, it doesn't really matter--so many people have made genuine pilgrimage to Santiago to venerate him that the place has *become* sacred to St. James, y'know?
But speaking of the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, there's a fascinating contrast between the altar, with its multiple statues of St. James and an insanely over-the-top gold retablo and huge baby-faced angels holding up a gold platform, upon which is an statue of St. James about to slaughter someone; with the actual place under the altar where his supposed relics are kept. You'd miss the way to the relics if it weren't for the line of people. There's a small metal sign saying "entrada" above a humble stone stairway down to a narrow, low-ceilinged space, where there's a couple of steps in front of a metal grille and about five feet between you and a small altar with a fancy silver box on it.
When I went into the cathedral the day I arrived in Santiago there was barely a line, so within a few seconds I was in front of that box. Other people had pushed things through the grille: rosaries, bits of paper with prayers on them.
And there's no way around it: I had a moment of profound awe and gratitude while I was there, along with a sensation of Presence, a feeling best described as "Oh god, what if he's really in there." People were snapping cell phone pics and walking past me as I knelt and tried to just let myself sit in that Presence. But I was also self-conscious of how few people fit in that space and other people wanting a turn, so I left within a minute or two. I went to a side chapel that was open for Eucharistic Adoration, and not knowing what else to do, I prayed the rosary and did the evening Office.
I went back the next day, after the early morning mass. I read to myself the prayer that was in my credencial (which is originally from a pilgrims' guide written in the 12th century), but I changed it all to the past tense and a prayer of thanks:
O God, who brought your servant Abraham out of the land of the Chaldeans, protecting him in his wanderings, and who guided the Hebrew people across the desert, we ask that you watch over us, your servants, as we walk in the love of your name to Santiago de Compostela. Be for us our companion on the walk, Our guide at the crossroads, Our breath in our weariness, Our protection in danger, Our albergue on the Camino, Our shade in the heat, Our light in the darkness, Our consolation in our discouragements, And our strength in our intentions. So that with your guidance we may arrive safe and sound at the end of the Road and enriched with grace and virtue we return safely to our homes filled with joy. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Hey there, Smart Launcher! It's so nice to connect with you. I just wanted to say that I'm a super happy lifetime access premium user, and I always look forward to your updates. As a student and a worker, I have a few suggestions that I think you'll love.
First off, I think it would be amazing if you added a Pomodoro timer to the Home page. This would be a focus mode feature that helps us prioritize our important tasks on our smartphones. Here's how it would work: there would be a timer right on the Home page, and during that time, we would only have access to the apps that are on the Home page or the Extra Home Page. This way, we won't get distracted by all the other apps on the App page. To make it even more fun, you could add achievements that motivate us to use the focus mode more often.
Another idea I have is a "Locking Device" button. This would be even more intense and would help us unplug from our devices. When we tap on the button, a prompt would appear asking us to lock our device for a specific amount of time, maybe in hours and minutes. Once we lock it, if we try to unlock it, a black screen with a timer would show up, letting us know when we can unlock the phone again. Of course, emergencies can happen, so it would be great to have a message button, a dial button, and our contacts displayed below the timer.
I also think it would be cool to have a simple Screen Time Widget. It could show us how much time we've spent on our screens. It would be really handy to have this widget in your Smart widgets collection.
Now, let me tell you about some features I already love:
The Smart Widgets are fantastic! I find the notes and the clock with weather especially useful. Before using Smart Launcher, I had to rely on third-party apps just to check the weather, which was kind of inconvenient. It would be even better if we could have transparent backgrounds for the notes and the ability to align them. I'm a big fan of customizing my phone, so these additions would be super helpful.
Oh, and I have to mention the blur effect. It might not have a direct impact on my productivity, but it sure does make my launcher look beautiful! One time, my cousin, who uses the free version of Smart Launcher, asked me, "What's that color in the background? I love it!" I proudly told her it was because I bought Smart Launcher, and now she's really excited about getting it too.
The Edit Categories feature is a game-changer for me. It helps me stay organized and boosts my productivity. Being able to choose the right category for each app quickly and easily is so convenient and helpful.
Last but not least, the ability to resize icons and grids is fantastic. I actually recommended Smart Launcher to a friend, last year, who loves small icons. I told her about this feature, and she switched to your launcher right away. When I checked in with her recently, she was still using Smart Launcher and absolutely loving it. She said it's more minimalistic and perfectly meets her needs.
Oh, and I can't forget about the Backup feature! It has saved me so much time and effort. I used to dread having to re-customize my Home page, App page, and Extra Home Page every time I changed phones or reset my device. But with the backup feature, it's become a breeze to restore all my settings hassle-free.
To sum it all up, I truly believe that implementing these suggestions and considering user feedback would take the Smart Launcher to the next level in terms of helping people be smart. I mean being more productive. By providing features that promote focus, organization, and customization, you're making the lives of your users easier and more efficient. Local is Austin/San Antonio region. All prices are OBO and include shipping unless otherwise stated.

Handhelds/Consoles

All 5 systems were soldered by myself, tested physically with a multimeter, and tested electronically using a rom of the AGS Aging Cart to be verified as fully working.

The two replacement motherboards used known CPU's and RAM from damaged GBAs so I didn't kill any in making them (included is a close up of one of the boards as an example of my soldering).
Both new boards have controls soldered on for the ITA screen OSD.
I will include written instructions for both that and the mobo RBG lighting.
Note: The clear blue GBA's screen looks overexposed in the image but they both look nearly the same to my eye.
The stickers I showed off are free if you want them put on but that's FCFS for anyone who wants to match them with either set.
I also have the extra buttons/shell parts/membranes shown in the pics if anyone wants me to throw those in their order as well

The three GBA Consolizer kits are Woozle kits of course.

All three are using original boards that I cleaned up and are verified to be fully working.
The dark blue console is using the original Woozle breakout board
The royal blue and red consoles use the newer ribbon cable installation.
Note: They all use mini-HDMI so remember to grab an adaptecable for it

Dark Blue GBA Consolizer	$400	This was my original consolizer and I can verify that it's been working for a while now. I had used an xacto knife to shave the SNES connector a bit to make it less tight on the controller plug, no functional impact and it's hidden during use.
Red GBA Consolizer	$420	As seen in the pics, the overhang on the IO plate at the back broke off during installation so I layered a piece of foam on top of it to cover the hole, no other issues.
Royal Blue GBA Consolizer	$420	None

Others
CIB Xbox 360 Elite + cables + 1 controller	$30 + shipping	Just bought this on a whim recently but don't really use it.
CIB Red/Black DS lite	$100	Also bought this to try a while back but I'm just not really a fan of the lite so I haven't used it much at all. The console is like new but the box has some liquid damage.

Uproar! (Alice Loxton, narrared by the author)- Loxton is a terrific historian whose Instagram and YouTube page (and her work in History Hit channel as well) are a must for history geeks like myself. Part of what makes her presentation great is her voice: it's really pleasant to listen to and her enunciation is impeccable. In this, her first book, she tells the story of the great print satirists of the Georgian era.
El libro de Filipo (Pedro Alonso O'choro, narrated by the author and Tatiana Djordjevic)- The first book by the Spanish actor best known for his role as the charismatic, yet dangerous thief Berlin in "La casa de papel". It is a historical novel set in Roman occupied Judea. Past lives and philosophy are involved. My only audiobook I purchased in Spanish. Alonso is another one of my "phonebook" actors.
Musashi (Eiji Yoshikawa, translated by Charles S. Terry and narrated Brian Nishii)- A massive, epic historical novel of the legendary samurai and master swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. This novel was the partial basis for a trilogy of films starring Toshiro Mifune. I bought the book for 10 dollars at my favorite used bookstore. That was a steal, but the audiobook was an even bigger steal: with an 85 percent discount, the price if this 53 hour long book went from 45 dollars to 6.85

2023.06.08 04:26 Yarbles The Official Report of the May RVA Reddit (no we haven't) Bookclub

It was a fine day in May and we pulled up and talked about some books. We covered Blitz by Daniel O'Malley and, because it was recently Mother's Day, I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy. And we spent way more time on them than we usually do, so we must have liked them. Quite a few people read the Blitz. Incorrigible_muffin had previously covered it, but was disappointed in the a payoff, and said the two story lines didn't really resolve. Aurora_the_Off-White said that she liked it, but agreed that it wasn't on the same level as the first two.
She said that Blitz could have a strong philosophical payoff even if the storylines didn't have an strong resolution. If someone read Blitz by itself without the first two novels, they might enjoy it more. Carbonjen thought there was a lot to like about the writer, saying he writes women well. Muffin said there were a lot of interesting possibilities in the world he created. The author covers the British and American versions of supernatural bureaus, but there were many of these throughout the world.
We talked about the story's structure. The main character's lost memory lets the author explain the supernatural elements in detail and do the worldbuilding without any distracting exposition. Munsontime had a thought, asking if it was technically the same person in the body or a completely new personality that developed after the wiped memory. If a personality is a product of the experiences and memories the person accumulates, then it's probably a different person.
Munson blitzed through the first two and is currently on the third. He was surprised at the spelling of the main character's name, Myfanwy Thomas, having listened to the audiobook. I was surprised and a little disappointed that the pronunciation is just "Miffany". Princess_MoNaanKay stopped by to return the first book int the The Checquy Files, The Rook that I had lent out. I thought she was returning it specifically because we were reading The Blitz, but she said she's decided to see other bookclubs. So we just need to move on and live our best bookclub life and hope she finds happiness.
Jennette McCurdy was apparently in a show called iCarly. I had never seen it or heard of it, so I think I missed a lot of context from the book. Everyone else in our group really liked the book - finding it insightful and funny. Most people agreed that the things the author's mom did stood out, and so did the actions of Dan Schneider, who was the creator of iCarly. But she didn't go into that in depth. Muffin said the system that pipelines kids into the entertainment business is fundamentally responsible for many of these abusive situations, and the actions of the mom are a product of that. Aurora thought that the author used humor to cope with loss and grief.
We talked about long wait times for getting books from the library. Carbonjen actually bought Tender Is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica because she was not optimistic about it becoming available through the library. She didn't have as many spicy romance recommendations as last time, but did have a couple. She thought Pestilence by Laura Thalassa was good and a fun concept. It's the first of The Four Horsemen series; a romance involving the four horseman of the apocalypse.
She liked The Siren a lot less. I think this was the one by Kiera Cass. Apparently the characters said the word "fishcunt" too many times and it became grating. She also didn't like how a lot of the characters in A Court of Thorns and Roses were developed in the story. She mentioned Brutal Prince only to say it was brutally bad, and is reading Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo and liking. And that makes Muffin happy.
Sassypapaya recently read Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr, which is very popular around these parts. I think she said she read The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, and may have had good things to say about Lightlark by Alex Aster, or that may have been someone else. She was too far away from me for me to follow the conversation from that side of the circle very well. She asked about Verity by Colleen Hoover and Muffin said that Colleen Hoover was a step up from Stephanie Meyer.
Munson and his friends have a rule for their bookclub: you can't use the term "Beautiful Prose". But if he was forced to provide an example of beautiful prose, then he might use it when talking about Another Country by James Baldwin. He described it as "Kerouacky" - intimate and sexual especially for 1961. It's about the Jazz scene in NY in the 60s, with themes of race, gender, and sexual orientation in its cultural context. A slice of life story in the gay, black, jazz scene in New York. The Trial of Henry Kissinger by Christopher Hitchens is next for his other bookclub, Apparently Hank is bumping up against age 100. It was estimated that his cold-blooded policy directives are responsible for 4 or 5 million deaths. We talked briefly about Red Rising by Pierce Brown, which was the biggest book in the world for a minute. Munson said that, as a sci fi guy, he had already read many similar stories before and it just wasn't a big deal for him.
Assaulty recently read American War by Omar Al Akkad, and talked about how people end up on different sides of a conflict. Many times people don't have a choice about which side they end up on, and American War addresses some of these themes. She asked for more like this book. Asterion7 suggested Paolo Bacigulupi works such as The Water Knife and Shipbreaker, which are near future works with major themes of climate catastrophe. For this kind of thing I always recommend Afterwar by Lilith Saintcrow. Saintcrow a romance writer and I was really surprised by this book. It's gritty and hard, and a little spicy but not romantic.
Assaulty also read Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin and likes reading about creative partnerships like this. She told us about Nevada by Imogen Binnie, which is one of the inspirations for Detransition Baby by Torrey Peters; This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone; and The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks, the first book of the Night Angel trilogy.
Muffin told us about The House of Eve by Sadeqa Johnson, the next book after the The Yellow Wife, which features Lumpkin's Jail. The House of Eve takes place in DC and Philly and ties in with the events of the first boo., The author will be giving a talk on June 8th at the Library of Virginia, and Muffin wanted to read this before seeing the author.

The Carole Weinstein Author Series supports the literary arts by bringing both new and well-known authors to the Library of Virginia through online or in-person events. Free and open to the public, the series focuses on Virginia.

Coconut read the second book in the Great Cities series by N.K. Jemisin called the The World We Make. Asterion7 picked up Trust by Herman Diaz, a Pulitzer prize winner. He also read We Are All the Same in the Dark by Julia Heaberlin and liked it enough to finish it, but not much more than that.
assaulty is looking for a gateway to Sci Fi, and asked about the distinction between Sci Fi and Fantasy. However many people there are in the room, that's the number of different opinions you're likely to hear at any given time. Some say it's magic versus technology. If Sci Fi doesn't have magic, what about Star Wars and force lightning from those Sith guys? So maybe Star Wars is actually Fantasy and Star Trek is Sci Fi. But what about wormholes and different dimensions and the super annoying character Q? It's a subject worth exploring, but there might not be an answer. To me those are just two different themes with strong aesthetic styling.
Assaulty may have read Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler or it might have just been recommended to her because she is interested in Sci Fi and liked The American War. Skyvrbyvr loved Octavia Butler's Kindred giving it 5 stars. She says it's not just beautiful prose: she respects that Butler is not afraid to create gruff and real people - characters that are somewhat unlikable but somehow still relatable.
Aurora had a huge list of completions and I have no idea if these are all hers or not. But this month she read a bunch of first books across several series. I think heard Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo; Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn by Tad Williams the first of the The Dragonbone Chair series (I think she deemed it meh); Elantris by Brandon Sanderson also caught a meh; and Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch, the first of the Gentleman Bastards series.
The last one generated a lot of interest as a lot of us have read it and really liked it. Like The Checquy Files, the first book is fantastic and there are diminishing returns after that, though I haven't read the last two: The Republic of Thieves and The Thorn of Emberlain. Munson says that if you read Sanderson, then The Stormlight Archive series is the way to go. Aurora also has Circe by Madeline Miller on hold at the library.
We talked about a few books about music, I think all of these are from Munson, including Meet Me in the Bathroom by Lizzy Goodman: Rebirth and Rock and Roll in New York City 2001-2011; Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk by Legs McNeil and Gillian McCain; and Sing Backwards and Weep, a memoir by the singer Mark Lanegan. We also talked a little about Nardwuar, a music interviewer who is amazingly in-depth but often described as offputting.
Munson says he can sometimes be invasive and not enjoyable but agrees that he is talented. Nardwuar is likely autistic and we were informed that "neurospicy" is no longer acceptable. Obviously, I'm cool with someone else deciding what they find offensive and following their recommendations, but I wish we had something to pivot to. We talked about how the line between normies and nerurodivergents can be pretty thin and while gatekeeping mental health can be frustrating, it's also infuriating that people resist any accommodation for neurodivergent people.
I knocked off a few books, including On a Night of A Thousand Stars by Andrea Yaryura Clark; Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata, and Gold Fame Citrus by Claire Vaye Watkins. The last was comparable to Station Eleven in terms of quality and themes. The story wasn't as good, but the prose was pretty exceptional. The author was able to do some things I hadn't seen before. I'm reading The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty, The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin, and listening to a couple courses about Human Pre History, First Civilizations, and pre-Alexandrian Empires.
Apparently George RR Martin joined the writer's strike and is not writing anything, not that you could really tell. We talked about the 8th season of Game of Thrones, and how those two producers just ruined at least hundreds of millions of dollars in sales of DVDs, downloads, books, and comics. One of the most disastrous effects of incompetence on a brand I've ever seen.
We talked about Patrick Rothfus's Name of the Wind and how the main character was a bit of a Mary Sue, but the narrator might have intentionally been portrayed as unreliable. Someone brought up Hope and Other Dangerous Pursuits by Laila Lalami, and we added The Moor's Account as August's non-dorky read. Some of the guys don't want to me call it a Muggle book anymore, and would rather call it a regular book. Maybe we need to keep looking for the right term.
We talked about books with actual paper pages versus reading on a device or listening to audiobooks. Carbonjen says she prefers the Kindle Paperweight because her dogs chews up actual books. I read paper, epub, and listen in about equal proportions. I was listening to Dodge, or Fall in Hell and was not liking it, but started liking it better when I flipped to the epub version. Munson says he uses safari reader on his laptop and will set it to autoscroll. We also compared strategies for downsizing our libraries. Very few people keep every book they buy anymore, especially if you have moved your collection a couple times.
We talked about the St. James Muse, trails on the James, the resurgence in skating, and art classes at the VMFA and Visual Arts Studio. We also talked about all the pedestrians being hit by cars and how squaring street corners can slow cars down. Right now corners are rounded, encouraging cars to take them at speed. And how dash cams are an essential equipment for cars now. Chop Suey is now Shelf Life and Wonton is now "Wonny". But has retired and been replaced by two new cats, presumably who are earning much lower, entry-level wages.
Someone brought up BookTalk.org, saying they mostly got ass recommendations out of it. I've used https://www.whatshouldireadnext.com and it isn't so bad, but really isn't any better than Goodreads. I've used Shepherd a couple of times, which can be really good if you're looking for exactly the type of book that has been covered in one of their lists, but it seems to only accept general categories.

The news that Salvek got a whole 8,000 credits Not much money at all, but this business is cheap so it's more than enough. was a blessing to me. Ever since I was little I wanted to become a rich businessman in a fancy suit who ate caviar every night, despite the fact I hated seafood. In my defense, I didn't know what caviar was when I was 6, I just knew that rich people ate it.
But I quickly learned that starting a business meant I needed money, and my family was poor. Since my options were either crippling student loan debt, a job at McDonald's or the military, I chose the military. I invested my salary, which was actually pretty decent money for a guy whose only job was to shoot Russians, and I had a good chunk of money and a few profitable investments when my service ended.
I was on the path to success, but the divorce got messy and when she left me and took the kids she also took 167,564 dollars and $200 a week in child support payments.
When I tried to get my kids back, I was framed for stalking and harassing her, probably by a cop friend of hers, and the judge agreed to drop the charges on account of my military service. The sole condition was that I cease all attempts to get partial custody and cede another 80,000 dollars. I told my friends what they did, so some powerful friend of my ex's cooked up a scandal against me. They said I had PTSD from what I did in Russia, and they accused me of beating my wife. I couldn't believe it.
Now, I know she stole 200,000 dollars from me, and I know I served in the military, but I've always hated violence. No one believed me, though, and despite there being no evidence, I was forced out of town.
I decided to take it a step further and left my home planet because fuck those crooks.
I should've known that they were just out for my money in the first place, but I figure that regret doesn't do fuck all so I should stop regretting so damn much.
The tiny bit of my money they didn't steal was invested in several orbital shipyard firms, and I had it set up so that every week, 200 bucks get deposited from my account to my ex-wife's because the day they don't the UN or a squad of exterminators would break down my door.
Does Salvek know about ex-wives? Probably. I should give the furry son of a bitch more credit.
I was probably never going to be broke, since I was smart with my investments, or out of a job, since I was a soldier and every PMC or bouncer-less nightclub needs someone who can fight. I could make even more money on Venlil Prime if someone had the balls to hire me, but that's just one of the many downsides of species-wide racism.
Well, not quite species-wide. Salvek was cool, and I've met around a half-dozen other Venlil from the exchange program who didn't actively avoid me. (In Venlil terms, this means they're real Gs) My UHerd account had exactly eight followers, which is a great achievement on Planet Racist.
My pad buzzed, and I took it out to see that I had a ninth follower, who was a Yotul called Osori. A whole nine followers! Almost ten aliens tolerated me! Okay, that wasn't exactly the best thing to be proud of, but when you used to shit in a can in foxholes in Russia and a bucket was a godsend you kinda learn to take what you can get.
I was forced back to reality by the shuddering of the Venlil train stopping abruptly. God damn, are good brakes a strictly human invention? Or did the retards in charge of the Federation label wanting a smooth and easy way to stop 'predatory'?
I got up, remembering to crouch this time because fuck the designer of Venlil Prime trains for not anticipating that a 6'3 man named Jack would need to use them one day, and the monotone voice that announced everything on the thin slice of planet the Venlil called home droned "Welcome to the Grove District." That was my stop, so I and Salvek left. Salvek and I is the proper grammatical usage, but who gives a damn?
Salvek's third-floor apartment was just eight blocks from the train station, and I left this particular station without any problems of the flamethrower-wielding nature because exterminators here weren't as racist as exterminators everywhere else.
They gave me a few suspicious looks, more than a few but potayto, potahto, whatever but I was with Salvek and he was always protective of me so no one bothered me.
If someone told me a month ago that a tiny alien sheeple would be taking less shit than I did I would have referred them to a therapist, but the last few weeks have been crazy for me anyway.
Me and Salvek got to his apartment around nine PM, which is 'kill yourself' in Venlil time, but it was still fucking bright outside so I wasn't gonna sleep a wink. Why? Because God hates me, that's why.
The second we got inside and Salvek closed the door, I ripped off my mask and dropped it on a nearby table. Salvek had seen me many times before without it, and he didn't visibly panic at the sight of my forward-facing eyes anymore. *Incredibly common Salvek W *
Instead of pissing himself in fear like he did the first time he saw me maskless, Salvek just told me "I'm gonna take a nap. Next claw is my work claw, so wake me up in a bit." and went to his room. Claws are around five-ish hours, so I set a timer for four and a half hours and started doing Jack shit. Not jack shit, as in nothing, but Jack shit, as in shit that Jack does. Why did I refer to myself in third person?
First thing's first, I ate a hearty meal of some alien vegetables that I had no idea what to call but God, they tasted good. I will never understand why Venlil cuisine is so mediocre when they have ingredients like these to pick from.
After I finished off my salad, I poured some U.N. mandated vitamin mix into a blender along with some water and protein powder to make myself a protein shake. That was gonna come in handy later.
Once my protein shake got finished, I started working out since you can't get ripped without working out.
Venlil Prime is a high-G planet, so Venlil bodybuilders must be jacked under all that fur! I wonder if Salvek is ripped or not. Maybe he is ripped and I just can't see it? Maybe all Venlil are ripped but since the Feds tell them they're weak and scrawny they just took that to heart. Their minds might be the only thing stopping them from kicking ass.
Those were just some of the thoughts running through my head as I did my workout routine. For those wondering, I did 150 push-ups, 150 sit-ups and 150 weighted squats every day in sets of 50 each, and there wasn't much else to do but be tired and think when you're working out.
Once I was done with my grueling workout, Venlil have to be shredded if they work out in these conditions. I guzzled my protein shake to get bigger and turned on the TV. The remote felt like lead in my hand, half because of my workout and half because of Sheep World's gravity. Your average sheeple could probably beat the piss out of your average human, so why are they so damn scared of us?
I flipped through the channels Turns out even racist aliens have cable. Who knew? until I found an episode of this one show called The Exterminators. Turns out even racist aliens have cop shows. Who knew? Salvek always changed the channel when it showed up, probably for my sake, but I was kinda curious about how bad it really was.
It was bad. Really bad. Imagine if, back during the 40s and the civil rights movement, somebody made a show about the Ku Klux Klan. That's a pretty good analogy for The Exterminators.
Come to think of it, the extermination guild and the KKK are pretty similar. Too similar, really. But it's not like I can do anything about it.
A cheesy space cop show jingle played from the TV's speakers as the screen displayed a group of lizards Technically Harchen, but whatever. If they call me 'predator' I call them lizards. in silver flameproof suits running around and doing exterminator things. They torched a predator's nest, they torched a cartoonishly embellished Shadestalker with orange splattered on its mouth That was unusually graphic for a Fed show but ok., they torched a lot of things. It was their job to torch things.
As the main theme reached its climax, a beetle-like exterminator truck with a machine gun on top zoomed through the streets of a crowded Harchen city. Finally, the camera zoomed out and the lights of the city winked off until the only ones left spelled 'The Exterminators' in Venlilese. Thank god I could read Venlilese.
Below the main title the text 'Episode 389: Terran Trickery' popped up and I sighed. Why did everyone have to be so damn racist?
In spite of the blatant and unapologetic racism, giving the term 'Show about the Ku Klux Klan' a whole new meaning, I watched the whole episode. It was actually quite good, if you looked past all the racism and anti-human propaganda.
Twitter must have had a coronary when they found out about these motherfuckers. It would've been funny as hell to see, but you get what you get on Venlil Prime.
The episode opened with a scene of our exterminator protagonists chilling in the extermination office when a call came in to investigate a predator attack. They answered it, dropping a few cheesy one-liners along the way, and when they got there they saw three body bags, two cops and a human in handcuffs.
This next part was so fucking racist I can't even make it up. I bet somebody could, because somebody did, but I swear this is what I saw.
The human had claws, fucking eight inch claws that were coated orange, and your average shitty human canines were replaced with sharp fangs that were also splattered with orange alien blood. He tugged at his restraints, screaming threats, and the cops didn't do anything except for keeping a safe distance since no one had the balls to muzzle him.
When the exterminators showed up, the first thing they did was to muzzle the spacist caricature of a human and beat his ass with their electrified batons. Then they asked him if he knew anything about the bodies, to which he responded something along the lines of "You can't prove I ate them." The exterminators beat his ass again for that one.
Holy hell, and these were supposed to be the good guys. It's like a KKK member on an escalator the way the racism is on another level. If I wasn't such a kind and forgiving soul, I would throw a molotov cocktail into the show's filming studio.
The exterminators tortured the poor man for a little longer, and he kept saying things like "I bet you taste great raw!" and "I'll kill all of you like I killed the... no one!" because he was a racist caricature in a Fed propaganda reel.
Then, finally, the Venlil authorities showed up and released him, saying that humans had "diplomatic immunity, so you are not to touch him." That would've been fucking nice. Oh yeah, another thing. The guy who called off the flameproof SS squad was obviously in a trance. He had those spirals in his eyes and everything.
Was this meant to be human mind control? Probably.
The exterminators left, and then they started gathering dirt on the human in a boring detective sequence that was also incredibly racist so I used that time to pull up my pad and work on my business. I had four thousand and two hundred credits in my UN/Venlil Goverment sponsored bank account, which was more than enough for what I wanted to do.
I placed an order remotely for 100 shirts, all with the text "Dear Exterminators, My Eyes Face Sideways" on it. After that, I placed an order for some other household items of various shapes and sizes because fuck it, I have money. Those, unlike the shirts, would be useful to Venlil, so that increased my customer base.
That cost me around 2,300 credits since I was buying in bulk, so I used another 500 to rent a storage unit for 4 months and my last purchase of the day was 500 credits for a transport service to bring the merchandise to the storage container.
I paid my last 700 credits of the loan Salvek took out to a web designer to make a website for my business since I needed a website to sell things on. Two minutes after that, I asked for a refund and resolved to put all my shit up on TradeHerd since it was free. The 10% fee it charged per sale could just be countered by a price increase.
The show was getting interesting now, so I finished my business dealings and turned off my pad. The exterminator buggy had just pulled up to an abandoned Predator Disease facility, and the gang were getting out of it while armed to the teeth. From what I could gather, they had found the human's lair and they were going to put him down.
Of course they have to fight a serial killer in an abandoned mental asylum. Even aliens have clichés.
The exterminators swept the place corridor by corridor, using flashlights to illuminate anywhere where their victim could hide and always carrying flamethrowers. I had to admit that this was a tense and entertaining scene. Racists make good TV, who knew?
Finally, we got some action. The exterminators started to see moving shadows, some huge beast type thing, the usual "hunt down a dangerous ambush predator" type things. I know we're not ambush predators, but the Feds never got the fucking memo now did they?
Finally, the exterminator squad formed a circle to protect themselves and the human revealed its monstrous form. God, I sound just like a Fed right now. Is racism contagious?
He had fangs like knives, claws that were also like knives, and muscles like a bodybuilder who vehemently refused to take a drug test. Even I would've been scared if I met this monstrosity on the street.
One exterminator yelled "It's the predator's final form!" I wish it was. Imagine how much I could bench like that! and they all raised their weapons. The battle I was about to witness would have been well worth the 30 minutes of racist drivel before it. I need to use better words than racist. Bigoted, maybe?
I was on the edge of my seat, waiting for the exterminators to fight the roided-up superhuman, when there was a crash from the kitchen window.
Oh, for fuck's sake! Now I have to miss my show.
I stormed to the kitchen in a fury, scanning for the source of the crash, and I slammed the door open with a force I never would have done with Venlil around. I barged into the small room, looked around, and found what caused the problem.
There's a brick on the floor! How sturdy is this building, anyway?
My initial suspicions were overturned by the sound of another brick thudding against the wall, very close to a broken window. Damn, the window's broken. I'm cracking somebody's skull for that one.
The antics of a group of alien pranksters were nothing compared to what I had seen in Russia, so I was totally calm and collected as I stuck my head out of the window and yelled "Fuck off, my show is on!" Well, maybe not totally calm and collected.
The recipients of my harsh words were a group of two Krakotl, a Gojid and a Venlil who were piled into something that looked a lot like a pickup truck. The Venlil's fur was black, and cut quite short.
Exterminators. It's always exterminators.
"You're not welcome here, predator!" A Krakotl shouted at me before hurling another brick at my head. He missed, because aliens without depth perception couldn't throw for shit, but I ducked back behind cover anyway.
Another projectile also bounced harmlessly off the wall, so I poked my head out again and yelled "Just fuck off! You're all gay retards, and you should kill yourselves!" One of the Krakotl reached into his bag, and I yelled "Oh, yeah, throw another rock! Your dumbasses are just lucky I've got depth perception!"
He did not, in fact, throw another rock.
He drew a gun.
And he shot at me.
I didn't even know exterminators had guns.
If I hadn't served in the military, I probably would've died. But I did serve in the military, and I served in some of the harshest battles they could find, so I immediately recognized the metallic object as the gun I had seen a hundred times before, usually in the hands of people who qualified as civilians 3 seconds ago, and I took the expected response of ducking behind cover.
If I had my own gun, this would have been light work for me. But I didn't have a gun, and I wasn't Rambo or Batman, so I pulled out my pad and called the police.
"1234, what's your emergency?" Came a tinny voice on the other end of the line.
"I'm being shot at!" I blurted out, and I was sure the dispatcher could hear the loud gunfire going on outside. Did that bird-brain think his shitty pistol could breach a brick wall? Maybe Venlil bricks are weaker than Earth bricks.
There was silence over the line for a good two seconds, making the sharp cracks of the Krakotl's pistol the only sound, then the dispatcher stuttered "We- we're t-tracing your call now. Officers are o-on their way." Damn. I should have disguised my voice so as not to spook the poor sheeple. On a very related note, would the Venlil authorities delay the squad cars just because I was a predator?
It seemed like a pretty in-character thing for them to do, so I knew I had to take matters into my own hands at least for the time being. They were only shooting at me with a pistol for now, but what if they had grenades or Molotov cocktails stored in that truck? An exterminator could probably procure a firebomb, or at least a flamethrower, and if they used either one on me I was done.
The sensible thing to do would be to leave the apartment. The exterminators wouldn't know, and even if they used heavy weapons I would be safe from the fallout. As I began to crawl through the debris and broken glass, however, I noticed one thing was wrong.
Where the hell is Salvek? Can that bastard really sleep through a gunfight?
I've heard of and seen soldiers fast asleep while their comrades fired automatic weapons right next to them, so it wasn't impossible for Salvek to be snoozing. Plus, I had no idea how deep a Venlil's sleep was.

Purpose

This greatly expanded guide is to explain how to get every game from Gameboy to 3DS, including Pokémon games from Gen 1-7, onto your CFW 3DS. The information is a compilation of references and guides I’ve collected during my own efforts of 3DS modding. This is something I wish I had when I started down this process, and I hope you find it useful. I’ve combed through this sub to try and compile every question answered in one place.
This is mostly focused on the Pokémon games, but I’ve reworked it to explain how to install any game from Gameboy to 3DS onto your Home Screen, and you can skip the info that’s just for Pokémon games. It covers a wide variety of topics related to 3DS CFW modding, and I think even those who don’t care about Pokémon would find it useful.
Comment any questions or if anything is incorrect/out of date.

Note: This assumes you have already completed the CFW 3DS guide on your 3DS. This will not work without completing that process.

Turn any rom into a CIA file via New Super Ultimate Injector 3DS, an application that allows you to inject Nes, Snes, GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, Mega Drive, Game Gear and TurbiGrafx 16 roms in to the 3DS.
Use the FBI app to scan QR codes and download games that way. Only works for 3DS games and VC’s, not NDS games.

Part 2: How to get every game on your Home Screen

Gameboy & Gameboy Color - Gen 1 & 2 (RBY/GSC)

Download virtual consoles through the Hshop in the “Virtual Console - Region Free” section. Here is the list of NA VC games), though the HShop does have every other region as well. GDrive of VC’s
Don’t forget to also download the originals! Japanese Red and Green VC’s are also in the HShop. You can’t miss this nightmare fuel!
- Japanese Pokémon Green is called “[GB]ポケットモンスター緑” in the “Virtual Console - Region Free” section of the HShop.
- Japanese Pokémon Red is called “[GB]ポケットモンスター赤” in the “Virtual Console - Region Free” section of the HShop.
Alternatively, if you want to get other games, track down the Roms (internet archive, Vimm, etc), and use the “New Super Ultimate Injector 3DS” linked above.

Gameboy Advance - Gen 3 (RSE/FRLE)

Download Pokémon CIA’s here, put them in your CIA folder on your SD card, and install them in the FBI app. Alternate source with some custom roms as well.
Alternatively, scan the QR codes in FBI.
Alternatively, if you want to get other games, track down the Roms (internet archive, Vimm, etc), and use the “New Super Ultimate Injector 3DS” linked above. Or search for “[Name of game] CIA file” on Google

Nintendo DS - Gen 4 & 5 (DPPt/HGSS/BWB2W2)

Download roms or rip your cartridges via GodMode9, put them in the correct rom folders. Roms available at Internet Archive; google “Internet Archive Roms”. Some are here
Use NDSForwarder OR just open the Universal Updater app and you can find it in there (there's two different ones, I'd use the one by MechanicalDragon)
Put DS games in /ROMS/NDS.

Note: Do not rename the file after you’ve installed forwarders as that will break them. Also: LIMIT 40 DS GAMES INSTALLED AT A TIME - You can however use the data management menu to move the shortcuts you aren't using to the SD card to make room (where they disappear from the home screen and become unusable till they are moved back)

Open the app via homebrew launcher to select which to install to your homescreen, and you may uninstall them one by one through the main 3DS data management menu, the DSiWare section.

Alternatively you can use YANBF, which I’ve never tried but doesn’t have the 40 game limit.
Alternatively, you can use TwilightMenu++, which is an application for the DS&DSLite (via the r4 flashcart) or the DSi/3DS (via CFW). When opened, it looks and functions like the DSi menu. It allows you to access and play Roms via a prettier interface. However, I don’t like using it on the 3DS. If yours is broken, try downloading it again from the Universal Updater app or try this.

3DS - Gen 6 & 7 (XY/ORAS/SMUSUM/Dream Radar)

Download games from the HShop. Every 3DS game should be available. Don’t forget Dream Radar!
Alternatively, Rip the game from the cartridge via GodMode9
Alternatively, scan the QR codes in FBI

Note: Be sure to download the updates to each game as well, if needed.

Part 3: How to migrate saves into 3DS

Note: Always backup your save files via Checkpoint and back up the SD card to your computer regularly.

Nintendo DS

Rip saves from cartridge via GodMode 9
wherever you store your rom files, there should be a folder labeled saves.
Copy the .sav to roms/nds/saves/ and name it the same as the ROM but with the “.sav” extension instead of “.nds”

3DS

Rip from cartridge via GodMode9 & inject into digital version
Alternatively, use Checkpoint:

 1. put physical copy into 3DS 2. open up checkpoint, select the cartridge version, back up the save and name it something obvious 3. remove the cartridge 4. select the digital version of the game you backed up and then pick the save you just made a back up of and click “restore save”.

Part 4: How to cheat/hack

1. Checkpoint

Note: Cannot access GBA or NDS games, only 3DS and original VC games. See “2. PKSM” and “3. NDSForwarder” below for instructions on how to cheat in those games. Checkpoint causes the game to crash often, especially in gen 6&7. Always save before activating a cheat.

2. PKSM 3DS App - Pokemon Games Only

Every Generation of Pokémon, 1-7, can be integrated into PKSM
Gen 3: How to get the GBA VC game into PKSM:

1. Load the game and save first. Doesn’t work without a save file. 2. get ahold of your Title ID by going to FBI → Titles → take a picture of your relevant Title ID for the game you need. 3. in PKSM, go to settings (hit X) and go to Misc → Title ID’s 4. input your title ID for your specific game from step 1 5. Once you’ve inputted the number and hit ok, you can just keep hitting B. You’ll see the game on the VC list and access it like the other games. Gen 3 - GBA event items
- When you're in the Scripts menu in PKSM, press X to swap to SD-based scripts, and Y to swap to universal scripts. There is a script called “RSEFrLg - Inject Tickets.c”. Inject that.
Gen 4-5: How to get PKSM to work for NDS games.

1. in PKSM, go to settings (hit x) → misc. → Extra Saves → find your save for your specific game within your SD card. For generation 4-5, it’s probably in /ROMs/nds/saves 2. go back to the main PKSM screen, then hit Y, then choose your save to open.

3. NDSForwarder (DS games only): hold Y while loading the game then press X.
4. PKHeX Desktop App - Pokémon Games Only

Legality checking and fixing with PKHeX and RNGReporter

5. TwilightMenu++ (DS games only)

You might need to download the “NDS(i) Cheat Database” from the Universal Updator app. I’m not sure. I found that and installed it before testing if TM++ already had cheats.
While hovering over a game in TwilightMenu++, click Y, then X.

6. Pokémon Dream Radar!
Don’t forget, there is also a 3DS game that can interact with the other 3DS games called Pokémon Dream Radar, available in the HStore. From what I’ve seen, it sucks. But there is a tool called “Pokémon Dream Radar portable save editor” available in the Universal Updater app that allows you to hack your game. I’ve never tried it because the game looks awful. But it can migrate Pokémon to Bank so we can’t forget it.

Part 5: How to migrate Pokémon up and down generations:

1. PKSM lets you migrate Pokémon into the application, then out of it into a different game. You can migrate Pokémon to and from any game, Gen 1-7. Basic guide here.

 * See Part 4 PKSM section for how to set up different games in PKSM. * PKSM Legality Checking: Go to the “edit Pokémon” screen → Click “misc.” → click the wireless icon. Note: migrating Pokémon from newer to older games may result in some data changing, such as a Pokémon’s gender, ability, or moveset.

2. The legit way: Pal Park, Poke Transporter, Pokémon Bank, & Pokémon Home

It is safe to use both PKBank & PKTransporter on a hacked 3DS. You can still transfer Pokémon from Bank to Home and then to Switch games. Download them via the HStore or download here.

Note: Worried about updating your 3DS? Follow this guide.
Note 2: you must have a Gen 6/7 game installed and progressed up to the point of accessing a PC before first using Pokémon Bank
Note 3: you can transfer from Bank to Home, even if your accounts are different on your 3DS and Switch. Use a moving key. You do need a premium Pokémon Home account.

Poke Transporter can transport Pokémon from Gen 1 & 2 VC’s as well as from Gen 5 into Pokémon Bank. They will only be able to migrate from Bank to Gen 7 games, or 1 way into Pokémon Home. You can migrate Pokémon this way, and then send them back down from Gen 7 into older games via PKSM.
How to use PokeTransporter on Rom files of Gen 5 games

 1. Load the save into PKSM 2. Go to Scripts → Universal 3. Find the Transporter Redirect script & run it.

Note: only works for Gen 5 games Source. Alternate method.

You can also use Checkpoint to backup your game, migrate Pokémon from the game into Bank, then restore from the Checkpoint backup so you can keep them in the 3DS game and send them up to Home. Or clone them in PKSM. Both methods work just as good.
Gen 3 to 4: You cannot migrate from Gen 3 to Gen 4 via the Pal Park with your 3DS, You must use PKSM or PKHeX. However, it is possible to use the pal park via Roms on a DS/DSLite. PKSM is far easier and faster.
Gen 4 to Gen 5: Migrating via Poke-Transfer and Roms/original carts should work. However, it requires 2 DS’s/3DS’s. PKSM is far easier and faster.

3. Trading to legit games

Gen 1-2: Yes. You can trade in Gens 1 & 2 VC’s from HStore with legit VC copies on other 3DS’s.
- Alternatively, you could also trade if your Roms are on an EZ Flash and you connect it to original Gameboy hardware & link cables. Or via Roms directly in an Analogue Pocket.
Gen 3: Tragically, No Source 1. Source 2. Source 3. I hope someone figures out how to get that to work because it’d be cool.

Gen 4-5: YES
Gen 6-7: Yes

4. PKHeX Desktop App: I’ve never used PKHex before but I found a guide here
5. PKMN Chest can also work, though it works better on a DS/DSLite/DSi. It cannot access 3DS games, so no gen 6 or 7. Nor can it access Virtual Console games, like how it was instructed you install gen 1-3 above. It can access non-virtual console roms if you’ve installed them on the 3DS a different way. So at most you could access gens 1-5.
