2023.05.30 23:55 Peridot14 Friend & Neighbor's Dog Separation Anxiety

I have a dear Friend who moved into our apartment complex after a time of housing insecurity. We advocated for this friend to get them into our close-knit small apartment unit because we knew they would be good for rent and we could support each other by being in the same building. Overall it's been wonderful save for one thing.
Friend has a really sweet senior Shiba Jack Russel terrier mix named Jack. We genuinely love Jack, but since Friend has been going to work in a new job, Jack mournfully howls every. single. time. Friend leave for work- and their bedroom where Jack chills shares a wall with ours. For the past couple of months pretty consistently jack howls for 15-25 minutes when Friend leaves and wakes me up an hour and a half or so before my alarm. I work retail and I'm a designer and really need my sleep to recharge from human interaction lol.
Friend knows this and we have been brainstorming solutions. Friend rides a motorcycle that is parked right outside their window and we discovered that Jack hearing the bike was upsetting him (he loves to ride with Friend) so Friend will push their bike out of the alley to the street before starting and Jack will still bark and howl. Jack is not food motivated so a snuffle treat mat and peanut butter in a Kong have not provided real distraction. We put an audio book on while Friend is gone so it's not quiet and still no luck. Jack obviously is just very distressed by Friend's leaving- previously Friend did not live alone. Friend is very good about walking Jack and getting him outside before and after work.
I feel bad because this is putting a strain on our relationship. Jack has been registered as an emotional support animal which is how he could get in in the first place in our dog-free building. I've noticed lately now that it's warmer and the windows are open Jack is even MORE sensitive to other noises. I've heard him barking at my other neighbors when they are parking, when people come & go in the building, and even at times when I'm playing a podcast through our speaker system in our place. I am growing increasingly worried that our other neighbors (who do not have a friendship with Friend) will start to complain. Since Friend does not have much money and had struggled to get into an apartment, there's been a lot of stress about this.
Can anyone with experience offer some advice? Anyone had a similar situation you were able to resolve? The only thing I can think of is that Friend already wanted a cat... I want to be like GET THE CAT NOW so Jack isn't as lonely lol. Thank you!

2023.05.30 23:26 humancalculus I (active 36M) get strange zip on left shin when raising and extending that leg

Bit about me: I 36M, regularly lift weights, do kickboxing, and run a few times a week.
I get a fairly predictable zap in the same place on the upper shin about a fist width below my left knee cap. It corresponds to how much my leg extends when lifted to my front. It occurs in these instances: -Attempted L-Sit: when trying to raise and extend both legs forward -Hanging leg raises: when raising both legs slowly and controlled and keeping them as straight as possible -Muay Thai (Kickboxing): when attempting to extend left leg in forward kick (a teep) while jutting the hip forward to accentuate. It's not like painful but it's just a prominent sensation and annoying. What's the cause and what MIGHT I look into in order to possibly correct it?

2023.05.30 23:18 qzwxecrvtbyn111 Reoccurring glitch where I can't swim up when underwater!

I play Minecraft on PS5. I've repeatedly been having a glitch where I get stuck underwater, and it won't let me swim up. If I hold x to swim up, I stay still, and if I let go of x I'll sink as if I'm holding a button to swim down.
This 100% is not being caused by the buttons on the controller getting stuck; this is an issue that only ever happens when underwater in Minecraft. I'd say it happens about 1 in every 10 times I go under water.
Sometimes, it'll go back to normal after a few seconds. I've tried things like placing a block or opening my inventory, but it seems entirely random when/if it'll let me swim up.
I've lost so much stuff on survival worlds this way :( and am essentially forced to avoid water.
Does anyone know about this glitch, and what I can do to stop it from happening?

2023.05.30 22:41 AwardGlad8256 Switching states - licensure question

Hi everyone! I apologize if this is a dumb question - I am just struggling finding information online that is clear. So I am licensed in Florida currently. I do not have my multistate licensure since it was $100 and I did not think I would be moving out of state. However, now I am moving to Georgia and need to switch my licensure since it will be my primary residence. Should I apply to get my multistate license in Florida and will make it easier to switch to Georgia and start working? Or can I just apply straight to Georgia for licensure by endorsement without this multistate license? Any help would be appreciated! These state board of nursing websites can be confusingšŸ˜…

2023.05.30 22:15 FatherOfUniverse (First time posting here) // Health Anxiety

Hello there! Hope You all doing better everyday! Since that's gonna be my very first post in here, I already apologise for my poor English skills, as it isn't my first language. A little about me and the anxiety I have: I am a 20 year old guy from Estonia (Baltics), apparently to Your surprise I'm more of an extrovert and working a job at front desk. I smoke cannabis daily (on work-days only before bed), I also use nicotine daily (smokeless nicotine pouches) as well as the caffeine in my morning cup. I suffer under terrible health anxiety, which I haven't really talked about with my doctor. It's become pretty much daily now. Sometimes when I smoke a little too much/or randomly even while sober I'm just, all of a sudden, starting to feel my heart rate going up, getting dizzy, instantly my breathing changes as I'd need more oxygen. When things go really bad, my hands start to shake and I might even have a weird feeling in my chest for a while. And every God-damn time, I'm afraid I'm just about to have some heart-related episode. The fear of death kicks in as my thoughts are rushing faster than the speed of sound. I just hate it all so much. I'm about to go and see my doctor soon, since I already sent her a letter that I wanna check out what's up exactly. I wanna do all the blood tests, ECG for sure (to make sure my heart functions right), spirography in case it should be asthma/something lung related. Does anybody feel me? It sometimes really feels like a slow death. . .

2023.05.30 21:52 Breadmytoast I have become less interested in watching porn but i have gotten interested in something just as bad or worse

last year in november i decided to partake in NNN (for the memes and for self improvement) and to my surprise i completed NNN. It made me realize that i do have self control but i just watch porn just because so i tried to avoid porn more and more. Fast foward a couple months and my interest in porn has lowered ALOT. But i turned to something else which was cutting. One day i just had a really complicated and bad day so i just took a box cutter and cut my hand. They were small cuts and i didnt cut deep so i didnt think much about it. However just minutes after i just had a urge to cut again but luckily i stopped myself. However a couple days afterwards i just had a even bigger urge to cut which i sadly did. I am now 6 days clean from cutting and unfortunately only a day clean from porn. I definitely think that i am bipolar so i guess i should get a diagnosis sooner a later (it would also explain most of my problems). The purpose of this post to tell people that the worst way to quit another habit is to create another bad habit so for everyone reading this, no matter how bad you are doing please dont get into cutting or watching porn and if you are doing these things please talk to someone about it or find different ways of quiting these habits as soon as possible <3

Folks, it's time to dive under the sea once again. Over the last few years, Disney has recreated their top animated musical films into live-action movies. The Little Mermaid is no different, and viewers can't wait to swim into theaters to catch a glimpse of how the movie will stand up against the original version.
Walt Disney Studios has established a remarkable trend of making live-action remakes of its classic stories. One after the other, all the fairytales of the past era are being brought to life by the studio in an attempt to tell the magical stories in a new light of living characters. With the live-action Peter Pan & Wendy due out in April, Disney will continue their string of live-action remakes a month later with The Little Mermaid.
Get ready to go "under the sea!" The latest of Disney's hugely successful line of live-action remakes, Ariel (Halle Bailey) is set to return to theaters for the first time in almost thirty-five years with The Little Mermaid (2023). The Walt Disney Company once again invites audiences to travel under the sea to see Princess Ariel's story unfold like never before. Featuring direction from veteran musical filmmaker Rob Marshall and other roles inhabited by major Hollywood stars like Melissa McCarthy as Ursula the Sea Witch and Javier Bardem as King Triton, the film is bound to be a bona fide hit at the box office.
Though the upcoming and highly anticipated film will have stiff competition against two stand-up comedians on the weekend it releases, The Little Mermaid is destined to show that life is better down where it's wetter under the sea this Summer movie season. But there's one catch to the transaction: Ariel must trade her voice in order for her to try and see the things she's after. What Is the Release Date for The Little Mermaid?

Ariel's quest to go from a mermaid into a human begins anew when The Little Mermaid premieres this Memorial Day Weekend on Friday, May 26th, 2023. The film will be going up against not one, but two stand-up comedians and their films that weekend, with Sebastian Maniscalco's About My Father and Bert Kreischer's The Machine premiering on the same day. That said, The Little Mermaid will almost certainly be the choice for younger audiences and families.
While some Disney films are heading straight to Disney+, The Little Mermaid will first be shown exclusively in theaters.

Where To Watch The Little Mermaid Online:

As of now, the only way to watch Fast X is to head out to a movie theater when it premieres on May 26, 2023. You can find a local showing on Fandango.

Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube or Apple, or become available to stream on Disney+.

How to Watch The Little Mermaid

At the moment, you can watch The Little Mermaid at your local theater. But like most movies these days, it should hit a streaming website in the near future.
Like its predecessor, The Little Mermaid is a flick produced by multimedia conglomerate Disney. What's more, the production studio owns a number of other famous franchises, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars. Titles made under these umbrellas have both hit Disney+ sometime after arriving at the box office. Fans may also know the original Little Mermaid is currently available to stream on the site as well. So, if the 2023 version follows the same pattern, folks will likely get to see The Little Mermaid on Disney+ later this year too.
As for an exact release date for The Little Mermaid, that's more complicated. Most movies produced by Disney often go to its streamer site within three months after debuting in theaters, like the most recent Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. If this is the case for The Little Mermaid, it will probably drop in late August 2023 or sometime near Labor Day in early September.
When the time comes for The Little Mermaid to splash onto Disney+ though, make sure you're all prepared to watch it. If you don't have access yet, you can opt into a 30-day free trial before choosing a plan that start at $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. After your account is all set, click on the title page on Disney+'s official website or the Disney+ app.
As you wait for The Little Mermaid to hit the streamer, why don't you watch the animated version and its sequel The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea? Or if you want to immerse yourself in another live-action version, click on the 2019 ABC TV special The Little Mermaid Live!. Enjoy!

Will The Little Mermaid Be in Theaters or on Streaming?

Unlike several of Disney's other live-action remakes such as Pinocchio and Peter Pan & Wendy, The Little Mermaid will be exclusively in movie theaters first with tickets available for pre-sale now.
After The Little Mermaid has completed its exclusive theatrical run, the film will be released on the Disney+ streaming service. Based on Disney's past release models, the film won't be made available to stream before 45 to 90 days after its theatrical release.

When will The Little Mermaid be streaming on Disney+?

The Little Mermaid Disney+ premiere date is tentatively estimated to be August 30, 2023.
While no official Little Mermaid streaming date has been confirmed by Disney, most of its major movie releases drop on Disney+ following a minimum 90-day period, and typically premiere on the platform on Wednesdays, making Wednesday, August 30 the most likely date for Disney’s The Little Mermaid live-action streaming release.

Will The Little Mermaid Be Streaming On Disney+?

The 2023 version of The Little Mermaid will only be in theaters initially. After The Little Mermaid has completed its exclusive theatrical run, it is likely to stream on Disney Plus. You can also watch the animated version of Hans Christian Andersen's 1837 fairy tale of Ariel on Disney Plus now.
While you will only be able to catch the new "The Little Mermaid" in theaters starting next Friday, you can still sign up for Disney+ now to refresh yourself on the characters, song, plot and magical fun from the highly anticipated film. The 1989 version of the movie was a catalyst for Disney's animation renaissance throughout the '90s and it still holds up today.
An ad-supported Disney+ subscription starts at $8 per month, but you can get an ad-free access to the service for $11 monthly or bundle the Disney streaming service with Hulu and ESPN+ starting at $13 per month. Disney+ boasts a huge collection of movies and television series, including Marvel and Star Wars content. If you add in Hulu and ESPN, you have nearly unlimited entertainment at your fingertips.

Is The Little Mermaid streaming on Netflix?

No, The Little Mermaid will not be on Netflix — at least not any time soon. In the meantime, you’ll just have to head out to a movie theater or wait for it to become available to stream on Disney+.

Will The Little Mermaid Be On HBO Max?

No, The Little Mermaid will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.

Is The Little Mermaid Available On Hulu?

Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie The Little Mermaid on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

The Little Mermaid Cast and Characters

The Little Mermaid was written by David Magee and directed by Rob Marshall. It stars the following actors:

What is The Little Mermaid About?

The official synopsis for The Little Mermaid by Walt Disney Studios read:
ā€œThe Little Mermaidā€ is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea, and while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land, but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy.
There is not much mystery in The Little Mermaid's plot. As seen in Disney's many other live-action remakes, it is anticipated that the film's plot will largely stick to the original. With the well-known song "Part of Your World," in which Ariel sings about her wish to be a part of the world beyond the water, i.e., the human realm, the teaser already alluded to Ariel's fascination with the human world. Fans will get to see Ariel and Prince Eric's romance as they deal with the challenges posed by their differences.

2023.05.30 20:31 lreyes12345 20 month old nap time/overnight sleep help

So my 20 month old has always been a decent sleeper. We sleep trained her at 6 months and she’s had her moments mostly during regressions and teething, but overall she’s given us a solid 11-12 hours every night. I follow wake windows and have always been consistent with when I put her down to sleep. She figured out the sleep sack, so now give her a blanket and a lovey or two to sleep with. Her room has blackout curtains, we use the hatch sound machine, and it’s always a comfortable temperature for her.we put her to bed at 8pm and get her up around 8. We used to put her down at 7, but she never seemed tired enough and was sleeping later in her naps. The he thing is she’s waking up most nights around 1am and will ā€œpartyā€ for hours on and off. She’s not crying or unhappy. She’s mostly rocking her head back and forth, moaning, playing with her loveys, and just chattering away. This results in her being pretty tired the next day. We wake her up at 8:30 the latest because we’re cognizant of her nap time. So we put her down for her naps around 1 and she also will just run around her crib for sometimes up to two hours. This isn’t every day, but often enough. She’ll be tired and cranky, but will still take forever to fall asleep. Honestly, I need the break from her, so I’m very wary about putting her down at 2 for her nap. Especially since I’d have to get her up at 4 to get her down for her bedtime. Whenever we wake her up from her nap she is awful and tantruming and cranky.
Anyone deal with this? It’s honestly been since late February and it’s getting frustrating because she’s exhausted. We don’t do screen time and she gets outside every day.
Thank you if you read this far along!

2023.05.30 20:11 autotldr NATO to deploy 700 more troops to Kosovo: Stoltenberg

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 73%. (I'm a bot)
In the wake of clashes with Serb protesters in the area, NATO announced on Tuesday it was sending more troops to Kosovo.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that an additional 700 troops will be deployed to Kosovo, a day after 30 NATO soldiers and 52 protesters were injured in clashes.
Serbian protesters smashed two cars belonging to journalists in Kosovo's Leposavic town on Tuesday, a day after 30 NATO soldiers and 52 protesters were hurt in clashes, as EU and NATO officials urged a de-escalation of the violence.
Ethnic Albanians make up more than 90% of the population in Kosovo as a whole, but northern Serbs have long demanded the implementation of an EU-brokered 2013 deal for the creation of an association of autonomous municipalities in their area.
Kosovo authorities have blamed Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić for destabilizing Kosovo.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said criminal gangs, supported by Vučić , aimed to destabilize Kosovo and the entire region.

2023.05.30 19:38 42xd42 Not feeling a single damn thing

I'm not even sad, but just still kinda miserable. I don't feel anything anymore, and this is me completely unmedicated except for alcohol. I don't want to do anything or improve anything and yet I miss my potential future. At least in the past while I was often suicidal I could at least fucking feel things and want things but now I'm as good as dead except for being absolute dead. Been running on bad coping habits for so long that something eventually broke inside my brain I think

2023.05.30 19:13 Striking_Shiba_5848 Help me Identify my type of anxiety

For context: I’ve been diagnosed with anxiety and depression since 2021, although I’m sure I’ve had both since I was young. I have a feeling though that in recent years, it has grown to be more social. I’m not entirely sure because I don’t feel anxious about talking to people but more of…I have a massive dislike of attention, even in simple, small ways. Here are a few examples:

2023.05.30 19:13 RoomEnvironmental520 Need help finding a game

Hello guys, I need help finding a game, that I habe been playing as a kid in the browser in the 2010ish years. (Adobe flash times)
It was a connecting game like candy crush but had a lot more depth into it. There were 3 lanes defended by a wizard, knight and an archer. They defended the castle, in which you connected the tiles, from monsters. To connect were the tiles of the main defenders and by doing that you got an extra defender.
The wizard had the color purple, the knight green and the archer orange. After the game you got to buy weapons for the defenders that either increased or decreased the damage of those. You could also sell the weapons and buy better ones.
If you know this game please let me know, thanks.

2023.05.30 18:44 Fuzzy-Hat2732 What’s happening with my neck?

24F 5ā€2 136lbs
No health conditions besides anxiety. I take lexapro 15mg.
I’ve been seeing a cardiologist who has assured me ā€œeverything is fineā€ due to some tachycardia I’ve been seeing lately. EKG (2 day and 5 day) and echo were clear.
However I noticed last night this: https://imgur.com/a/RpKsAHJ pulsing under my chin on my left side. I only saw this because I have been having a very painful pinching pain that only lasts a few seconds at a time in that exact area for a few days now.
Should I be concerned? No other symptoms besides some mild chest pain but I do get that fairly often as it’s one of my anxiety symptoms.
Thanks!

2023.05.30 18:44 Fit-Race6450 rOCD flare up for weeks making me physically sick

It’s non stop. Everything is triggering. All TV and movies. My brain is running in cycles of rumination about my gf 24/7 from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep. I feel sick. Any words of support or encouragement appreciated. It’s times like these where I start wondering if it’s even ~actually~ OCD. Which is a slippery slope to go down. We live together and we both have OCD- she doesn’t ever experience rOCD though. She’s good about giving me space and I’m doing my best to take that space so that I don’t do reassurance seeking with her or to engage in checking or confession behaviors. Me-27F Gf-29F

2023.05.30 18:33 chodesmasher6334 how to communicate with my partner better

me and my partner have been together three years and have had occasionally consistent sex i would say, but of course the quality of it has deteriorated and the frequency soon followed after. i was always fucked in the head wanting sex since before i even knew what it was, so i would say i’ve had a high libido post-puberty and it hasn’t dwindled. i was raped about 4 years ago by my female former friend and the experience i feel altered how i accept physical enthusiasm from my partner now. my partner has a much lower sex drive comparatively, so whenever we do have sex it seems like i take the wheel and they’re just enjoying the performance. it feels like any time i bring it up they get upset now, but i’m moreso concerned for their well-being. i don’t want to have sex with someone just doing it for me, but they swear they enjoy the time. they typically dress up right afterwards, and we just go about doing things as before, regardless if they cum or not. i feel very lonely, i don’t even try that hard to initiate sex now because i know i’ll feel awful from the lack of aftercare, like they really just don’t wanna be here doing this to begin with. they’ve talked about how they found sex sacred before but it seems like it’s just another activity for them and it’s been sending me to a lot of dark places lately. particularly, the rape and the confusion i felt from someone being so in love with me they would try to speak in my love language without me being even ready to hear. i don’t find comfort in the situation at all, but sometimes i wish my partner would treat me like that instead of the way i am right now.
am i severely fucked for thinking this way? rape has always nauseated me prior to what happened to me, but the desire for my partner to desire me more is making me think about that experience a lot more frequently and so when their sex drive ramps up randomly every now and then i get flashbacks sometimes because i’m confused at their sexual enthusiasm. there’s so much to communicate that i don’t know if they’re ready to hear, but i am running out of ideas and i feel like at three years we should not have to be going through this as adults.

2023.05.30 18:32 Calm-Yesterday121 I think I'm Interested on a Girl Again

Just a short backstory: Few months ago, there's this girl I really liked. I was crazy for her. She also liked me back but we were still scared in commiting to relationship so we didn't took it to the next level. We're just friends but a little flirty to each other sometimes. Few months later, she told me with full honesty that she liked me because she was just lonely and it was convenient for her. I was shattered but not that fully shattered cause was kinda expecting that since I've always thought that no one would ever take me seriously. I just unfollowed her and I haven't heard from her ever since.
3 months later, I've focused more on improving myself. Fixing my attitude, mannerisms, and learning to properly communicate with others. Overall, I think I'm improving my personality slowly. I just told myself that we don't need to rush things. I even promised myself that I would never fall in love for now,, and maybe try it again a different time. Although, I think I just broke a promise to myself.
There's this girl in our class that peeks my interest. She's a lone wolf type. Independent but approachable. She's always eager to learn. We've interacted sometimes. Back then I don't really see her like how I see her now. I didn't really care about the girls in class because I was crazy for the first girl. Sometimes, this girl just randomly crosses my mind. There's a voice in my head saying, "I want to know her more". I personally think that this is just a small crush or something.
I'm not planning to tell her how I feel anytime sooner cause that would probably creep her out. I'm also not planning to tell my other classmates cause they're not to be trusted with these kinds of stuff.

2023.05.30 18:19 DioAurelius Wife and I discovered new coping mechanism for chores

Hey all,
So, my wife and I got the idea to help me help her with chores.
She writes on my white board which can easily be seen in the house which chores she’s going to do and which ones she wants me to do.
Now typically, my brain will see it procrastinate and then forget about it until she gets home to which I realize I haven’t done it.
We decided to work around this by having HER set a time deadline for me to do it.
Gonna keep trying this to see if it helps. Hope this gives someone an idea.
