2023.05.31 18:20 420wasabisnappin So many dog foods are grain free and I am beyond frustrated.
For the second time in a row I have bought a grain-free food without knowing it was grain-free. There are so many options of dog food I get completely overwhelmed and I cannot afford to buy a THIRD bag of food in the span of a month at the moment.
I bought my dog a grain-free food by accident after her food (Purina Beyond) was discontinued and Chewy sent me my cats food instead of any kind of notification that they were out.
And my dog was also out of food.
So, I bought True Acres Chicken & Veg in a bit of a panic because it was a big bag for not too much money. "Grain-free" is written almost all over it but I didn't catch on until we were nearly done with bag #1.
My dog has since developed a rash on her belly that she scratches at a ton.
So I found Purina Pro Plan Adult Sensitive Skin & Stomach. The picture had nothing with grain-free listed, but I didn't scroll through all 8 photos listed, I just bought it. I had been working through the pages on Chewy for about an hour trying to find something that seemed within my budget for the price and weight and that was what I kept landing on.
Today I looked at the bag and right on the front it says "no corn, wheat or soy." I cannot explain how much I want to absolutely lose it right now. I had transitioned her and was feeling good, but since the rash persisted, I had made a vet appointment for fear that it was the mower chemicals and cut grass inflaming her belly.
NOW? IDK.
I'm so upset. I have like two bags of very full dog food, just paid rent and am trying to save for this vet appt. I do not have funds, or space, or spoons to get yet another bag of food and transition her AGAIN.
Why is grain-free food so readily available? It shouldn't be given to a dog unless expressly determined by a vet, yet it's everywhere!
And now I'm so exhausted from looking for food the first time, I don't want to look again. I already feel exhausted, overwhelmed and burnt out at the thought which in turn makes me feel like a terrible dog owner that I keep putting my baby through this.
Thanks for listening to me vent and if anyone has recommendations for a NOT grain-free dog food good for a 45lb Treeing Hound mix (budget of about $60/mo) I am so open to it.

2023.05.31 18:19 NokCha_ [Givony] Brandon Miller sat down with 12 teams at the draft combine, but arrived holding a legal brief written by his attorneys informing teams that he would not be able to comment on specific details regarding his involvement in the lead-up to the fatal shooting of Jamea Jonae Harris.
Source Miller's camp says it is hoping he can do enough on his June 10 visit in Charlotte to convince the Hornets to give him assurances they'll pick him at this spot, something that might hinge more on how he performs in his interview than his workout. He sat down with 12 teams at the draft combine in Chicago, but arrived holding a legal brief written by his attorneys informing teams that he would not be able to comment on specific details regarding his involvement in the lead-up to the fatal shooting of Jamea Jonae Harris. It's the biggest factor holding him back from being the easy choice at No. 2, as many expect to be the case in Charlotte. Miller's fit with Charlotte's roster looks ideal, and he is considered the front-runner here if he can do enough to alleviate off-court concerns.
Sources say Scoot Henderson is also very interested in Charlotte's situation and would welcome hearing his name called second, as much due to geographic proximity to his hometown of Marietta, Georgia, as the excitement over new ownership that is potentially taking over the Hornets organization this summer.
Jonathan Givony on The Woj Pod recently:
"Based on talent, [Brandon Miller] should be the #2 pick in the draft, and I believe if the draft was held tonight, he would be the #2 pick". Also mentions that teams did not like Miller's answers during interviews in regards to the gun incident Brandon Miller answering questions about this topic at the combine:
“The message I’ve presented to them is just it’s all a lesson learned,” Miller said to a group of reporters at the NBA draft combine, according to USA Today. “You always have to be aware of your surroundings and what you’re surrounded by.
“I feel like that night could’ve changed my career in less that a heartbeat. Just always be aware of your surroundings.”
Asked a follow-up question if he would have done anything differently the night of Jamea Harris’ murder in Tuscaloosa in January, Miller responded, “Like I said, just be more aware of my surroundings and what I’m surrounded by. I think it could have changed the whole night.”
Miller had contact with then-teammate Darius Miles the night of Harris’ murder Jan. 15. Miles texted Miller to drive Miles’ gun to the scene, and it was later retrieved from Miller’s car before it was allegedly used by Davis to fire the shot that killed Harris. Miller is considered a witness and not a suspect in the case. Miles and his friend Michael Davis were both charged with capital murder and await trial.

2023.05.31 18:17 justarandomdepressed UPDATE on the bike ride to boyfriend
I did see the guinea pigs today!!!! BUT i did not take my bike. My mom came back from work and she was already in her car and because it’s a 1.5 min drive she took me there. Car rides are a also big challenge too but i did it and i even stayed there for 5-10 minutes and pet the guinea pigs. The main reason i had to go there was because my Boyfriend is hurt and needed something and he’s not able to drive by himself. Maybe the fact that he isn’t able to come to my house and needed my help made it easier for me? I didn’t take any meds and the Panic only lasted for a minute and it was on a level 7. „Dare“ App helped me through it. Thanks for recommending! Tomorrow i have a another important event we’ll see how that goes.

2023.05.31 18:17 InViewOfNothing Is National Tyre crap or am I just really unlucky?
About 18 months ago I had a brand new set of Avon ZV7's put on my Fiesta, and the tracking done at a National Tyre in the West Midlands. Ever since then the car had a steering vibration and there was a lot of tyre noise at motorway speeds. I took the car back to that same branch multiple times to get them to check the tracking but they were adamant that it was totally fine. I gave up and just blamed the tyre noise on Avon tyres maybe not being much good.
Fast forward to today and the inside edge of one of the front tyres was almost completely bald. I booked it in to a different National Tyre branch in Dumfries and Galloway and had that tyre changed and the tracking sorted. It drives so much better now, steering vibration is gone and the tyre noise is at normal levels.
I also booked in my Girlfriends car. She also paid for Avons but they fitted the cheapest Autogreens they had in stock (probably by accident). So the first branch can't do tracking and the second can't read an invoice apparently?
Am I just really unlucky or has anyone else experienced this with them? I will avoid in future

2023.05.31 18:14 Sprollie Advice for my friend F20 with invasive parents M45 F45?
My friends (F20) parents, especially her mom are extremely over protective, tracking her locarion, bank account etc and calling/texting constantly when she's not at home. It's gotten to the point my friend is genuinely getting depressed by this, and anxious to where abouts she goes, trying to not go out of bounds.
She has a car since she got a full license a couple months ago, with one of those apple tracker thingies and she's not allowed to go outside our small town. Even though we had to travel to another town for college, she had to take the bus/train cause she's not allowed to drive outside our town (she actually did it for the last 2 weeks of college without her parents finding out, after she hit a minor breaking point and went against them).
It got even worst after 3 days ago, in an excited impulse we decided to travel to a city about an hour and half away to go bowling in the evening. I was surprised she's actually going to travel that far but she was super excited and serious, saying she's home alone anyways (turns out later her parents got home much earlier). We were 3 minutes away from our destination then her mom suddenly called, my friend got a little worried. Her mom immediately sounded suspicious asking what she is doing, specifically where she is, what time she'll be home etc my friend started to panic and I was just mouthing a location in our town so she repeats it. Her mom didnt sound convinced and asked her to come home soon.
Not long later her dad calls and asks the same, saying that on his tracker app it's coming up she's in that city. Now my friend went into a full panic attack, trying to tell her dad it must be a glitch, why would she go to that city at this time (it was past 9pm when they called) etc, her parents asked her to come home immediately, she froze while crying looking at me as to what to say, I mouthed and nodded "ok", which she repeated and hung up. The panic got worst because she knew she cant make it home quickly, we we're an hour and a half away from her home. We had to pull over just so she can calm down, but she rang her mom and just told her the truth. Her mom just kept saying how she's so worried and how the road is so dangerous and it'll be dark soon but she needs her to calm down cause she can't drive in distress, assured her she only wants her to get home safely and once she does they wont talk about the whole situation everyone can forget about it. She also kept asking who else is in the car with us multiple times even though my friend kept saying it's just us two?? Either way my friend only has one other friend who was away, her mom knew that. It was the whole I'm not mad, I'm disappointed talk. But that was just because she knew I was there.
She told me the next day that wasn't the case, she got a whole talking to, her mom told other family members about it, who knows what else and got stricter 'protecting'. Also her mom tracked her through find my iPhone before even calling her so she already knew where we were when she called her. She now has to check in with her mom before she does anything, today we went for a walk, and after we wanted to get food somewhere she had to come home to ASK FOR PERMISSION!! Her mom was about to say no until she saw me by the door, she was not happy about it at all though.
I'd love to be able to help her some way or give her advice but all I can really do right now is be there to listen to her. But I can see its getting to her more and more, I can see how more anxious she is getting, and she's terrified to disobey them now. She'd love to move out but she unfortunately can't afford it yet. She feels she's only going to end up going no contact with them when she'll be able to move out, but she's stuck at home for now. She's a great driver and has never done anything dumb like drugs/drinking/not coming home till late night etc that would cause her mom to not trust her the way she does. She's simply the youngest child, the other 2 don't live at home anymore.
Sorry for the massive rant style and messy post. I'll appreciate any advice/comments!
TLDR: Friend's parents are extremely protective and invasive

2023.05.31 18:14 MrPepin0 My girl cheated on me early in our relationship says she would never do it again
This Monday while I was sleeping with my girl at her house a man came to her house which I’ve seen before to sell them a car but I noticed that my girl was out talking to him for about 10 min so I got a bit suspicious when she came back in I was a little jealous but didn’t think too much of it. Then I heard the man talk through the window that she needed to tell me the truth. That caught me off guard and I asked my girl what was going on and she said nothing. So I got up to try to go talk to the guy but my girl was holding me down. The guy ended up leaving and me and my girl went out to talk about it and it all seemed fine she told me that was her last boyfriend but nothing had happened while we were together and that he was there to damage our relationship apparently he saw her profile pic with me and got jealous. Now yesterday I’m talking to her and I ask her to tell me the truth and she confessed to sleeping with him 3 days into our relationship but promises that was the only time and that she did it because she thought we wouldn’t last long but that now she sees that she loves me and doesn’t want to lose me. We talked it out again today this morning and I told her it was ok we slept together too but after that I felt a little awkward with her and left after we were done I’m not sure if I should stay with her or end the relationship I loved her and was thinking about staying with her for a long time but now I don’t know what’s the right option. 3 days in is not too long so I don’t know how to feel about it would appreciate any advice. Do I forgive her
TLDR: My girlfriend cheated on me 3 days into our relationship but promises that it won’t happen again and that she loves me we had sex after and I still felt awkward with her I want to forgive her but I’m not sure if that’s the right choice.

2023.05.31 18:14 TylPlas26 Do You Have Any More Black Soil?
This happened a few hours ago. No Karen’s or Kevin’s in this one. I knew something like this might happen eventually. I was always curious to see what would happen.
I work as a delivery driver for a building supply store. For my job, I have to wear hi-vis t-shirts. So I had that on, beige shorts, and a visor with my company name on it. Though unless you are standing a few meters away looking directly at the visor, you wouldn’t see the logo.
So today, I had to do a delivery to a near by town. And while there, I was told to go too one of the two supermarkets that are next door to one another to get hydration drinks and cold snack for the rest of my coworkers who work outside because of the heat wave we are experiencing.
I go to the one store, and they are sold out of everything we need. So I begin walking next door to the wall of marts. I have the list in my hand, walking in front of their soils and mulch. And just a head of me, there is a car pulling up, stopping a head of me. Since he was blocking my way, I walked behind a skid of product, and suddenly hear the drivers voice call out “Do you have any more black soil?”
I just replied “I don’t work here. I am a customer like you.” “Oh, you’re a customer?” “Yup.” I didn’t stop walking, and never saw the customers face.
A few minutes later, I’m walking out of the store with a cart full of what I need, and the customer is still there loading his vehicle up.
For fun, I walk by his vehicle, where he saw me pushing the cart.
Something simple and entertaining for everyone.

2023.05.31 18:13 CircumFleck_Accent The housing crisis makes all my life progress feel worthless.
I come from nothing. No parents, no real family, no assurance. What happened to my family? Lots of premature deaths, overdoses, repeating generational issues, the whole poverty experience. I was the sole survivor of my original family by 12. That made life very difficult as one would imagine, but I have somehow managed to get my life in order all these years later. With barely a high school education and no degrees I have worked my way into a position that pays me what I believed to be a decent living wage without requiring me to break my back. Yes, I deal with some unpaid on-call bullshit and the likes but I am able to afford my own place, a car and food in my stomach. For a long time that was a pipe dream.
Now I’m pushing 30 and the housing market is actually insane. I work with a lot of older people that have no idea just how bad it really is because they all bought their homes decades ago. My rent isn’t exactly cheap but mortgages today even in my middle of nowhere town are completely out of the question and all I hear is that it’s going to get worse? I feel as though I’ve capped my life progress despite coming so far. It’s a miserable feeling and older folks just tell me I need to “cut back” more. On what?

2023.05.31 18:10 Weak-Hedgehog172 Roland FP-90X vs 60X vs used RD-2000
Hi, I'm a college student living in an apartment, and I've been playing the piano for about 17 years now. I am really into classical but also want to explore other genres a little. I've always played on the family upright, never owned a digital keyboard.
My school's practice rooms have implemented a new system this year that makes it nearly impossible for non-majors to practice for more than 10-15 mins at a time. My mom kindly offered to buy me a keyboard for a birthday gift, but I am undecided on which to buy.
I've read up a lot and right now I'm focusing in on these three models.
The FP-60X is a lot cheaper, but I read that PHA-4 to PHA-50 action is a huge upgrade, and I don't know if it's worth it. For context, some of my recent repertoire includes Chopin's 1st and 3rd Ballad, Ravel's Une barque sur l'océan, Beethoven's Waldstein (in progress), and Scriabin's Nocturne for the Left Hand (in progress).
I found a used RD-2000 for $1700 (keyboard alone, no accessories) listed on the website of my local secondhand music shop, which is a really good deal. There's also a music store 30 min away that sells new FP-60X and 90X. I'm planning to go check them out later today. Of course, how they feel will contribute to the decision, but for right now, the other factors are:
- MOBILITY: I will probably be moving apartments at least once a year for the next 2-3 years, so a cabinet piano might be disadvantageous since it costs an arm and a leg to move each time. That's why I listed all keyboards here.
- If I buy a cabinet stand for a FP-60X or 90X, will I be able to move it (the keyboard in a case/bag and the cabinet separately, in a cavan) without a piano mover, or is that still a bad idea?
- What kinds of stands do you recommend for RD-2000? Are there any cabinet stands out there that will fit it? If not, how sturdy are the foldable kind of stands?
- RESALE PRICE: I might sell the keyboard after graduation because I'm planning to move across the country. So depreciation rate will play a role.
- SOUNDS: The RD-2000 is obviously superior to FP-90X in terms of the number of sounds and the amount of control you have over it. How useful will that be for someone who is just starting to explore non-classical genres?
- PEDALS: I don't know how sturdy standalone pedal units are, compared to a pedal extension on a cabinet stand. I played on my friend's keyboard which came with a free single pedal, and it keeps swimming away like a fish. I'm sure it's finished painting the Mona Lisa by the time I finish playing a piece. Will this problem be less severe for something like the RPU-3 (3-pedal unit)?
- PRICE: I am aware RD-2000 needs more accessories compared to FP-90X, such as a music stand and an amp. However, it looks likely the RD-2000 will still come out to less than the FP-90X in total, as long as I don't drop 400 on a giant amp.
- Considerations for buying secondhand: The shop doesn't know how long the previous owner had the RD-2000, and there's no manufacturer warranty, but the shop itself has a 60-day warranty.
- AMP: I'm looking at the Roland Mobile Cube amp right now. Thoughts?
I'd appreciate any recommendations for small amps, keyboard stands, and cases/bags. This was a really long post so thanks if you've read so far!

2023.05.31 18:05 orangutanalang Need advice for car troubles
Last week I had a mechanic look at my car due to a loud noise I starting hearing while driving on the highway. After looking it over, the first thing he asked me was, "who was the last person to work on your car?" For reference, I'm on my third engine right now. My engine spun bearings and threw a rod in 2 seperate engines since I bought the car and each time my warranty covered and replaced the engine block. (My warranty has since expired) The dealership I bought the car at made the repairs each time. So the answer to his question was, the dealership, about a year and a half ago. He then told me the damage to my car shouldn't have happened and there was a bolt missing in my CV axle support bearing. This caused the other lone bolt to snap over time and I now have damage to my transfer case and "very possibly my transmission". He said the repairs would be more expensive than the car's actually worth. He told me the dealership must have missed a bolt when replacing my engine and recommended taking the car back to them, which I'm doing today. But I was wondering if there's any advice I should know before going into this. If the car is that badly damaged, what are the outcomes I could expect? What do I do if the dealership tries to push a narrative that this wasn't their fault?
Sorry if this isn't the right subreddit for this question. If anyone has a better one, please suggest it below.

2023.05.31 18:00 davegreilach question for contractors
I'm doing a full house remodel and recently we had an issue with a bathroom. We went over the shower design with the tile guy in text, then confirmed the designs in person. The details are as follows
13x39 deco tile for the back wall of the shower 13x39 plain tiles matching the deco fire the side walls 12x24 tile for the floor
When the tile guy installed the tile installed the deco as expected, used the floor tile for the side walls and said "we must've accidently gotten a wrong box" about the tile that was supposed to be the side wall. He then asked us when the tile for the floor would arrive.
After that question we drove to the house and found the problem. The floor tile looks almost exactly like the side wall tile but the for floor is porcelain and the wall was ceramic and the dimensions are different.
I can understand how the mistake happened because the file is so similar. I am an IT contactor and i previously worked in the custom car industry so i understand that a lot of times people are running very thin and need to get paid and having to redo a job could be big issue for someone, so we agreed to keep the existing shower walls since it still looked good. I good the tile guy that id get the replacement floor tile to him by the end of today.
I then talked to the general contractor and asked him how we were going to handle the cost of the replacement tile. He told me that it sounds like I'm fishing for a 700 dollar discount.
I'm trying to be reasonable here. I feel like I'm being asked to drop additional money on tile that is needed because of a mistake that is not my fault. Am i being irrational to ask that we not be expected to cover the replacement tile?
Contractors please let me know your opinion on what a reasonable solution should be

- NeoVolta Poised for California’s NEM Incentives to Pair Solar with Battery Storage
SAN DIEGO, Jan. 26, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NeoVolta Inc. (NASDAQ: NEOV) – NeoVolta Inc., manufacturer of Smart Energy Storage Solutions, announced today that it expects California’s recently updated Net Energy Metering (NEM) program to drive increased demand for energy storage systems.
On December 15, 2022, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) issued a decision to update the NEM tariff to promote consumer adoption of solar and battery storage. The program will go into effect on April 13, 2023. According to the CPUC, the move was designed to financially incentivize Californians to install both battery and solar systems.
The CPUC stated that the current NEM 2.0 program was not aligned with California’s grid reliability and climate goals, noting that the increased use of electricity between 4 and 9 p.m. causes dependence on fossil fuel gas plants to meet the demand. With the battery storage incentive, the CPUC hopes to see an increased adoption of residential energy storage that will better support the needs of the grid, with customers saving self-generated solar energy for use in the evening hours.
An additional $630 million in state funding has been set aside by the California State Legislature for residential low-income solar plus battery storage adopters. The decision bolsters federal incentives provided by the Inflation Reduction Act for solar and battery storage.
It’s important to note that NEM 3.0 is not retroactive. Rooftop solar systems installed under NEM 2.0 will remain under that policy for a 20-year grandfathering period. This means existing rooftop solar owners who add a battery after the April 13 deadline will not be subject to NEM 3.0.
“We expect that NEM 3.0 will make Californians more aware of their energy consumption, encouraging them to conserve energy and pair rooftop solar systems with battery storage,” said NeoVolta CEO Brent Willson. “Californians who adopt this strategy will dramatically reduce their electrical bills while increasing their energy resiliency during periods of prolonged blackouts, fires, and flooding.”
California’s vast solar plus storage market has a dramatic impact on the grid. California has about 12 GW of distributed solar generation already installed, equal to nearly 25% of peak demand statewide. California also has more than 80,000 customer-owned batteries connected to the grid, with a storage potential of 900 MW, according to a September 2022 study by the California Solar & Storage Association.

2023.05.31 17:54 an0therunkn0wn Providing statement to other parties insurance
My daughter (21f) was involved in a very minor accident in a parking lot. Our insurance has reviewed statements given by both my daughter and the other party (Jane). As well as the photos of the damage to both cars. Our insurance has determined that the fault is 50/50. However, "Jane" and her insurance are disputing that decision and saying that my daughter is at fault. I suspect that "Jane's" insurance will call to speak to my daughter to get her statement on what occurred. I am perhaps under the wrong impression, but it's my understanding that the other insurance will use any kind of little words or statements that my daughter may say to put 100% blame onto her. There is nothing to hide, no dishonesty in the statement my daughter provided to our insurance, etc. Is it advisable to have my daughter tell "Jane's" insurance that she has already spoken to our insurance and provided them with her statement, and they can refer to it? Input is greatly appreciated. Negative comments are not helpful. NOTE I 100% realize that this is a VERY minor accident. However, I do not want to have any unnecessary hits against my insurance.

2023.05.31 17:52 theretolearn My dentist doesn’t want to work with me anymore because I’ve rescheduled or been late too many times
I feel like shit. This is my 2nd root canal this month & I wasn’t approved for financing on it (paid the 1st upfront). I’m scrambling around because I lost my debit card & ID (I use my passport as backup).
My insurance ends today so I really needed this appointment. I told them since I couldn’t be approved for financing could I reschedule & the lady says they’re not sure since I’ve cancelled and rescheduled so many times before. The dentist was pretty pissed I was late last time, which I totally understand and am trying really hard to do better
My car was totaled a few months ago so getting back and forth has been really expensive with Uber and makes me run even later sometimes.
Idk what else to say except I was actually on time this morning because I really tried & was able to borrow my mother in laws car last minute…
So now I’ll probably have to pay triple the price since my insurance ends today, if I can get back on their list. I wanted to cry right there in front of the receptionist
