Just like any other subreddit, we have rules, all our rules (besides nsfw content and being kind to others) have been voted on by the community and are visible in the side bar. The two most common rules that are broken because of misunderstanding are rule 1: easily googled questions and our policy on mega threads. Rule 1 covers a broad range, but the most common posts we have constantly that violate this rule are doll restoration/care tips, identification requests and pricing requests.
There are just hundreds and hundreds of videos and articles for almost any restoration or care question you can think of, all hair care/washing, stain removal, clothes washing, etc. its all been done and documented before.
Identification requests can be found using a number of collectors recourse, my personal favourite is mhcollector.com, but you can google “monster high collector guide’, pick whichever one suits you best and get looking, reverse image searching can also be super helpful!
Pricing posts are all “how much would you pay for this?”, “is this a good deal?”, “how much should I sell this for?”, because the simple answer is no one can tell you how much money you should be spawning or making besides yourself, we don’t know your financial situation. If you do want a ball park on what the average price is, thats what Ebay sold listings are for. If you’re unfamiliar with the function, you don’t need an account to see these, just search for the doll you’re looking for, like normal then on desktop the search result setting should be on the left and on the app there is a “filter’”setting in the top right corner where you can select “sold listings”, when you select and confirm this, it will ONLY show you listings that have already been sold and the price.
There is a search bar at the top of the page that is super helpful, where you can find most of the answers to any questions you have plus so much information using key words to whatever you’re looking to find. All of these “easily googled” questions mentioned above are however permitted to be asked in our monthly discussion thread, how to find that is outlined below.
We have mega threads to stop spam in the sub for things such as hot topics and Mattel creations drops. The first pinned post in our sub has links to all relevant mega threads, both ones that are being currently used and past threads that still contain helpful info and discussions, the monthly discussion thread is always linked at the top of this post. Beginners Guide

Went yesterday, had a mechanical on my way to the meeting point (lol) but got it sorted and arrived there on time, then completed the ride with no issues whatsoever, did some solid shifts on the front and was even in the first group to finish the sprint in the last few miles.
The whole ride ended up being about 85 miles but honestly I probably could have made it up to a century. Interestingly I didn't each anywhere near as much as I was expecting to (though I did have a bacon sandwich and a cake at the cafe stop...). I get plenty of gels and an energy bar leftover. Better to take too much than not enough though.

So I’m a solo female traveller (32) and for years I’ve heard nothing but good things about travel in Georgia. Been told it’s safe, friendly, accommodating, affordable, the whole package. However in recent days and weeks I’ve noticed a bit of an uptick in rather… let’s call it ‘unscrupulous’ types in and around Batumi.
Is this something I should be wary of? I don’t speak Georgian or Russian and don’t plan on being political/wearing anything that would attract attention politics-wise. It seems with the recent climate/mood that there may be cause for concern when travelling alone.
Unrelated: in travel videos and other blogs I’ve seen regarding Batumi it appears the beaches are all rocks? Are there any sandy beaches in/around the area that are good to visit? I’m very likely renting a car so as long as it isn’t too far out of the way I can easily make a trip.
I know it sounds typically cliched for a tourist to ask, but are there any bars/pubs to watch sport in the evenings? Looking online it doesn’t appear there are too many and I don’t want to spend nights ending up in the same spot. Any suggestions here or via DMs if you know a place are greatly appreciated!

Hey Reddit I have a dilemma . This past weekend my gf (F29) told me (M29) that she was going out to a work event for one of the higher ups . She texted me that she shared her coworkers ride home by accident . So I call her right away and ask her what was she doing ? She tells me after the work event her and her male coworker when back around her place and went to another bar and then she sent him home in an Uber cause he was very drunk. At this point I’m seething cause she did not tell me she was alone with this guy . And that she was alone with him “near” home . She assures me that he never entered her house . But am I the asshole for suspecting that she cheated ?

I'm fairly new to WOW and was trying to configurate my layout with bartender today. Now i'm facing the following problems:

1. My action bar 1 is disappearing when I mount up a dragonriding mount. I compared all settings with the other action bars and they are the same so I have no clue how to avoide this.
2. I made a new action bar 5 with the same skills on it as action bar 1, this one is staying when I mount a dragonriding mount, so I thought good I'll just use this one. But here I can't get the icons of the hotkeys activated. Skills does work when I press the button but I would like to have them "written down" on each skill. Even after deactivating action bar 1 they still don't pop up... Action bar 1 does have all the hotkeys on it though ....

So I don't have any issues with any non-latin alphabets, at least any I've come across, which I know is the usual reason for "character not found". But something that's been annoying me recently is symbolic characters failing to display, things like clock, sound and network type icons (for the curious, this became an issue with downloaded status bar dotfiles, and no, installing the fonts listed in the respective github pages did not fix things). I've tried all of the usual suggestions, Noto and the like, is there another font I can install that specifically contains as many of these icon/symbol unicode characters as humanly possible?

I recently reached out to my old manager so i could get our old coworkers number since i lost it. It caused us to reconnect and catch up with each other since we haven’t talked in a few years. I used to have a crush on him up until i left and moved across the country. At first it was friendly but then it got kinda weird when we talked about wishing we could get drinks to catch up. it got to the topic that i’m a lightweight and want to be able to build my tolerance and he said “aww i bet i could get a few drinks in you” and then continued with “i’m just imagining your face getting red and you having your cute shy smile..” Yeah.. I have a boyfriend and he knows that. I tried SO hard to keep it professional and appropriate so i’d steer the convo to a more lighthearted tone whenever it would get like that. I travel a lot for work and cannot afford to lose a checked bag, so I only do carry-on. This means I need to pack both casual and business attire, which can be challenging. It has taken some practice and watching a lot of Youtube videos on packing, but I am getting close to what works for me. I'd appreciate any advice you have. The bag is a bit on the heavy side but still within the airline’s limits and I’m able to lift it into the overhead bins on my own. Below is what I packed for a 10-day trip.
THE BAGS:
Carry-on luggage by Sigg – it is a discontinued brand but I love it. The 2-wheeled bag is a super tough (ballistic nylon) exterior with a compression zipper, telescoping handle, and a zipped water bottle holder on the outside. Normally, I’m a spinner luggage kind-of-gal, but the 2 wheels on this bag can be pushed somewhat like a spinner rather than dragged like most 2-wheeled bags. It also has a couple outer zipped areas for a laptop, pens, thin papers, etc). On the inside it is split in two major compartments, with the base fully lined with waterproof nylon that opens with zipper (I keep my garment bag under the liner just in case there are any spills in or around my bag), built-in compression straps, a mesh center divider for underclothes, and one side with elastic shoe sleeve pockets. There are a couple smaller pockets along the edges of the bag interior, including one thin waterproof one.
Personal Item by BagSmart (a Nomadlane dupe), fits under the seat in front of you and opens up fully like a suitcase. 2 main compartments and two additional exterior pockets which is handy but there are features of this bag I don’t like, such as the trolley sleeve and waterbottle sleeve—both are too tight to be useful. But it is a fraction of the cost of the Nomadlane bag, so it will work for now.

Maintain normal business appearance but minimize by wearing neutrals and all within the same color palette. Buy travel sizes of almost everything, organize by dividing items into smaller containers by type and time of usage (on the plane vs in the hotel room vs at work vs out touring); Economize space by bringing fewer bulky items by using the hotel’s hairdryer, steaming my business clothes in the bathroom while I shower or use the hotel’s iron, have shoes and clothes that are versatile for several outfits but also reuse/wash (in the sink) clothes as necessary. Try to get a workout in when possible.

Hello folks. I have recently bought XFX Radeon RX6700XT (SWiFT 309 Edition) and installed it in a computer with Ryzen 7 5700G. After plugging in, I’ve cleaned drivers with DDU and installed new ones. But, there the horror started:

What I have done already: - enabled BAR in BIOS - latest driver version - checked for AMD sharpening and anti-lag - both disabled - installed 5 versions of drivers, none helped - fullscreen optimization + dpi setting on csgo.exe
When I alt tab before map change and go back to csgo, it loads faster… But if I get late and don’t alt-tab, it looks like on video above… Every single time… Offline mode the same - if I change map it gets stuck…
If I connect monitor to Vega graphics/integrated GPU, there is NO ISSUE and everything works as it should - load in 10 seconds
If I switch resolution in CSGO to fullHD (1920:1080), map loads in 15 seconds
Did anyone experience this (Afaik nVidia doesn’t have this problem)… I am really thinking of selling this card because drivers are horror

Here’s how mutual funds make money:

1. An investor gives the fund some money to manage
2. The fund manages it by investing that money in stocks, bonds, etc.
3. The mutual fund company charges a management fee for this service, which is a fixed percentage of whatever it manages

The incentive here is clear. The fund needs to increase the amount of money that it manages. One way for a fund to do this is by, well, investing well. If a fund’s investment goes up in value, it automatically manages more money. But investing well is hard, slow, and not a lot of fun. The fun way to manage more money is just getting more money from your investors. That way, the fund needn’t worry too much about how the fund performs, the company running the fund makes money either way.
Last month, SEBI released a consultation paper that reevaluates how mutual funds charge for their services. The paper has 15-odd proposals but I’m only writing about the couple interesting ones. Here’s a post from Zerodha that summarises all proposals, if you’d like to see them all on one page.
SEBI doesn’t particularly like that the only way for mutual funds to make money is by accumulating more money from investors. One solution it’s considering is to allow mutual funds to charge not just for money management, but for performance. Sure, let mutual funds take some money for managing these assets, but if the fund performs well, give the fund company a decent chunk of the profits as well. That’s how hedge funds work, and arguably they do have a lot more fun with their investments. [1]
Here are two possible approaches that SEBI is considering. From its consultation paper:

Approach A: During the period in which the investor remains invested, the base expense ratio may be charged to the investor. At the time of redemption, the management fees may be charged if return of more than indicative rate is generated or annualised returns received by the investor is above the hurdle rate. … Approach B: There can be another approach where higher expense limit for performance based TER [percentage fee] may be fixed and TER inclusive of management fees is charged to the investor. The TER charged by the schemes in such cases should be based on the schemes’ performance during the previous year. At the time of redemption by the investor, if AMC fails to generate return above the indicative returns for investor or the annualised returns for the investor is below the hurdle rate fixed in advance, the AMC may retain base TER as may be applicable and return the remaining expenses charged to the investor, along with the redemption amount.

In Approach A, if you invest in a mutual fund, you’re charged the regular management fee right until you withdraw your money. When you do withdraw, the fund deducts a nice chunk from your profits (beyond a certain agreed upon threshold) and returns the rest. In Approach B, the fund just charges you a higher management fee to begin with. When you actually withdraw, it calculates your profit and returns any extra money it might have charged earlier. This is very different from how hedge funds are paid! The general rule with investments is that you’ll have good years and you’ll have bad years. If a hedge fund has a good year, it’s going to charge for performance right away and take away its share of the profit before it gets to a bad year. If a SEBI-regulated mutual fund has a good year, it’s not going to be paid until the investor withdraws! In the management fee model, a mutual fund is incentivised to convince investors to invest as much as possible. In this performance fee model, a mutual fund is incentivised to convince investors to.. withdraw?
I really understand what SEBI is trying to do here. Hedge funds take a lot of risk and often go crazy. If the risk pays off, they’ll earn a lot that year. If the same risk doesn’t pay off the next year, bahh, the investor might lose half their capital but at least the hedge fund got paid the year it did do well. Going by SEBI’s proposal, mutual funds will have to care about their investors’ real returns which will be a mix of both the good and bad years. Sure, it might work. But I wouldn’t be surprised if mutual funds just get their investors to withdraw more often to lock-in their share of the profits.
Grass is greener on the side of the new fund
A well known phenomenon of the Indian investment market is that investors don’t invest by themselves. They need a bit of a push and prod. Even if they want to invest, they need help with how much and where.
Mutual fund companies rely on distributors to sell their funds to end customers. Because, well, most investors don’t ever download an app and start investing. They buy through distributors who they trust! In return, these distributors also get a fixed percentage fee, just like the mutual fund company itself. [2] Since these distributors sit in-between the mutual fund company and the investor, it gives them quite a bit of power.

1. If a mutual fund company is starting a new fund, it will ask its distributors to convince investors to buy this newShinyFund. This newShinyFund will give distributors a higher-than-usual distribution commission
2. The distributor now goes to their customers and asks them to invest in this newShinyFund because it’s new and shiny. But the customer won’t just have large chunks of money lying around to invest. So the distributor will say “hey why don’t you just transfer your money from oldBoringFund to newShinyFund—I’ll do it for you”
3. The customer says “yeah, cool” and they’re now an investor in newShinyFund which pays more to both the distributor as well as the mutual fund company

27% of the money in new mutual fund schemes launched between April 2021 and September 2022 came from old mutual fund schemes. In one case, this figure was over 55%. Over time, newShinyFund would become oldBoringFund, and the mutual fund company could just launch a newNewShinyFund and well, distributors would then sell that and life would go on.
SEBI’s proposal is ending this! If a distributor switches an investor from oldBoringFund to newShinyFund, but oldBoringFund pays less commission than newShinyFund, they still get paid the lower commission even if their customer is now switched into newShinyFund. I’m sure mutual funds and their distributors will find a way around this sooner or later, but for now, the incentive to push new funds is lost. [3]
They see me regulatin’, they hatin’
One way of looking at SEBI is that as a regulator it needs to ensure there’s transparency and let market participants handle the rest. SEBI is, after all, a market regulator, so it would be a bit weird if it didn’t believe in market forces.
Going by this line of thought, SEBI wouldn’t propose barring distributors being paid more to switch their customers into new funds. If a mutual fund company wants investors in its shiny new fund, and it’s willing to pay distributors more to achieve that, why does SEBI see it as a problem? Its job is to ensure that the investor knows what’s happening, but then it’s up to the investor to choose what they want to do.
I can imagine a solution that wouldn’t limit how much commission distributors get, but instead force them to explicitly inform every investor just how much more money they stand to make if the investor buys into the new fund. “Hey there’s this fund that’s great and you should invest in it maybe. It’s new and shiny, can I transfer your money to it, pretty please? If you say yes, I get to take my wife and kids to Europe this year.” I’m sure some investors would say yes, but presumably the majority would not.

[2] These days, it makes little sense for anyone to invest via a distributor and lose money in the form of a lifelong commission. There are tens of fintech apps which allow for direct investing, as do almost all mutual fund websites.

If the same customer first withdraws their money, then re-invests in the new fund recommended by their distributor, the distributor can then get the new, higher commission. Definitely a more annoying and time-consuming process though.

Hello everyone, going to attend an amazing 3-days festival. Planning on doing some 1D-LSD and shrooms. Being aware of potential cross-tolorence due to triggering the same receptor group, I wanted to ask firstly whether you maybe have some experience with it and secondly, if taking shrooms (light/ max. normal dose) on Friday and LSD on Saturday (also around early evening), will be better for the trip on Saturday. Additionally, was aiming for around 75 mcg 1-d LSD on Saturday and self made chocolate bar of approx. 1,5 McKennaii shared by two (hoping that the cacao will do its magic).
& if you are wondering, first day is a thursday and was planning on only drinking to get to know the area.
