2023.06.09 08:14 The_Red_Awesome Looking for a lumber spot that carries natural logs of all sizes.

So, I was asked to make a wedding arch for my friend, but I'm having a heck of a time finding the right wood. Honestly, I'm not even sure how to look for it either. 8ft tall, at least, 4"-8" wide, and natural darker wood. It's super easy to find birch wood of that size, but I'm looking for something darker. Can anyone point me in the right direction of where I should be looking for this? I've tried a bunch of lumber mills in my area and can't seem to luck out. I even went to Home Depot in an act of desperation. If anyone has any ideas, I'm open to hearing them. Of anyone needs clarification, I'll do my best.

2023.06.09 08:08 Particular-Sport-237 M12 fuel drill died after 2 months

Bought an m12 fuel a couple months ago and it seemed to perform great at first. Drilled about 5-6 3/4” holes in studs with a brand new auger bit and it starts making a hard clicking/grinding noise and won’t function. Maybe Home Depot will replace but I’m not going to hold my breath. Guess I gotta should have know better and will have to go out and buy an 18v to drill a couple holes, sad.

My Figaro in Alaska
This is my Nissan Figaro. I bought it a few years ago in Ohio, but have relocated to my home state of Alaska after deciding the flyover country life ain't it.
To the best of my knowledge, this is one of two in the whole state. The other one is at the Nissan dealer up in Fairbanks, AK.

Can I change this valve by myself? (Non plumber) it goes to my fridge, looks like I need to cut it off.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I want to Home Depot and found something that looked like it would slide over the pipe like a compression fitting, would that work?

2023.06.09 07:12 BigH3ad777 What’s the best way to button up the roof of my trailer?

What’s the best way to button up the roof of my trailer?
I was fortunate enough to be given a trailer home made in the late 70s. To save some money for a couple of years we decided to pressure wash the roof then add 3ft peel and stick on the whole roof. (My plan is to make an actual roof in 3 years).
My question is with what I have now, how do I seal the roof of my trailer? It’s made of aluminum and was coated too before adding the peel and stick.
Thank you

Concerns about my employer
I started working at the home depot and I just found out that they openly support LGBTQ but also donated to 111 anti gay politicians. Like a lot of money. I am bisexual and idk what to do and if I should do anything and bring it up with leadership or awareline or something. Idk If I can work there anymore though I really enjoy it.

2023.06.09 06:48 charlie_gibb My Work Wrote Up Every Employee in the Store

So first off, I live in California, which is an at-will state so I don’t think there’s anything I can do about this but I’m gonna ask Reddit anyway because maybe there’s someone I can contact through my work that can help.
To get to the point, today two department supervisors took it upon themselves to write up every single employee in my store (I work at Home Depot). And apparently they stopped giving physical copies of write ups and it’s all going to be through the computer now through an app called “My WorkDay” so we don’t even have the option to sign a write up now, they’re just left on our personal account for us to review.
Their reasoning for writing up everyone was that “we have observed everyone having non-work related conversations at work at some point last year” so even if you had this conversation in January 2019, you were still written up. Because of this, many people were fired because this would be their final write up. Others will only have to be late by a minute one more time to get fired because of this write up. Lucky for me, I’ve never been written up before and I’ve never been late to work the two years I worked here. Still, this really stressed me out and obviously upset me and many others. The manager of the store is new and is terrible but that’s another story. I feel like they only did this so they would have a reason to fire people and hire new people for less since many who lost their jobs are transfers who make up to $4 more than everyone else. I don’t know, anyone have any advice at all or are we fucked because this is California?

2023.06.09 06:41 Lost-Rutabaga-8940 Do I have government assistance options?

I am a 24 y/o student living at home with my parents. We live in rural Ohio.
I cannot work because I can't drive (was unable to learn due to severe panic disorder). I'd like to learn now that I'm on meds, but my car (recieved as a gift) is my parents only source of transportation right now, and both have jobs that keep us afloat.
Money is super tight. We can hardly cover our asses most pays. My dad got a better job that puts us at a significantly higher gross income than his last job, but we are still trading water. With inflation and everything we would absolutely be homeless if he hadn't been able to find better work.
If I remember correctly, we are about 75-80k a year total.
Neither of them get insurance (the policies are way too expensive, my mom would literally be working for insurance) and I have medical issues that need taken care of.
I have significant school debt, no source of income, certainly no ability to leave the household, health concerns, and no goddamn clue what to do.
I'm pretty sure I don't qualify for Medicare, disability, literally anything that could help me out because of the household income. That said, I really do not understand how any government assistance programs work as it's all extremely confusing.
Do I have any options?
And before any snide comments are added, I'm not looking to game any system or whatever. I want legitimate information about programs and such I am applicable for. I desperately want a job and my license and to be functional as an adult but our circumstances are shit and I've had 0 luck with the opportunities I've gone for.

Hey all, i was struggling to get the rotor off, tried hitting with the hammer, no dice.
I saw the 2 bolt holes in the rotor went to Home Depot and got (2) 1/4 bolts. Just tried it and they are too small.
Question is what is the correct size for the bolt holes? Tried googling but google and youtube are sending me everything but the answers lol

2023.06.09 05:20 Aerosynth929 Am I losing my mind or are there like a LOT of people boondocking in parking lots in Summerlin?

Used to live in Spring Valley but moved out closer to Red Rock about 7 months ago. I guess I never really noticed this there... but when I moved to this side of town I definitely started tracking..... does it seem like there are an oddly HIGH number of tourists/travelers boondocking in parking lots? I see it everywhere but the place I notice it most often is the parking lot of the Smiths/Terribles/Home Depot at Hualapai and Charleston. [To be clear, by boondocking I mean people overnighting in their RVs/vans/campers in parking lots.]
Is this allowed by the city? Allowed by the businesses? Is this safe... not only for the people that live nearby, but the people actually doing it? I'm not really sure how to feel about it personally... other than this is Las Vegas, so if this is some sort of loophole, at some point it will probably get out of control and all of our parking lots will look like RV parks when people realize they don't have to pay to have a night or two in Vegas.

2023.06.09 05:18 Les_Habitants912 What to do with basement floor

Hi everyone
We just moved into our new construction home last month. Now that we are somewhat settled, we are considering painting our basement floor. We were told that painting the floor may help prevent cracks and excess moisture, but the main reason we would want to do this is because of all the dust.
We plan on finishing the basement in the next 5 years, so we aren't looking for something too expensive. Anything we decide to do will need to allow us to add vinyl planks when we decide to finish our basement.
I've read online that epoxy is very good but may be over our budget. I've looked at home depots Behr concrete paint but the reviews make me hesitant to go this route.
Any suggestions for what we should do. Again our main concern is the dust and are looking for an inexpensive solution for the next 5 years.
Thanks in advance for all of your help.

2023.06.09 05:05 screedtheroof Buy calcium oxide (quicklime) in Pittsburgh?

I am trying to buy some quicklime that I can slake and use as a mortar. I have been searching (and calling local businesses) but not finding anything locally. I am willing to drive an hour or two, and hope to start with a couple of 50# bags.
Home Depot (and other suppliers) sell "Hydrated Lime." This is calcium hydroxide and not calcium oxide. The lime they sell in garden supply stores is calcium carbonate.
Appreciate your time!

2023.06.09 04:28 TangerineFair8452 Found Lizard at Home Depot

Found Lizard at Home Depot
I found this little guy or girl(?) At Home Depot today in Utah. After doing some research I’m pretty sure it’s a green anole! I talked to a Home Depot worker and she said that they frequently find eggs in the soil of the plants and she thinks that’s how they get here. I quickly put together this enclosure with reptile supplies I had around my house. Any advice on how to take care of this little one is welcome! Also should I make more frequent Home Depot trips and possibly find little friends for this lizard or is it best to house separately? I’m finding mixed answers online.
