Autorifle as a class sucks and no longer has any reason to exist but to cause problems with weapon balancing. I suggest in the case of removal of the autorifle class (or otherwise really):
US: -autorifle's BAR moved to assault level 1 as an instantly available alternative to the thompson (10 magazines) -MG's BAR with bipods (15 mags)
GE: -autorifle's STG moved to SL rank 9 to make people want to play SL more (3-4 magazines) -assault's STG unlock lowered to level 6 or 7 (6 magazines) -autorifle's FG moved to assault to level 6 or 7 (8 magazines)
USSR: -assault PPSh stick magazines reduced to 7 magazines -all classes PPSh drum counts reduced to 4 drums -assault SVT magazines reduced to 10 magazines
Brits: not even going to go here, total rework required

Barbs are forced to farm for FOUR (4) weapons and legendary effects, much more than other class. That means they literally have to farm WAY more than every other class. If they aren't the clear best class, then you're effectively farming twice as much as other classes, just to be INFERIOR to them. How is this right?
This is a clearly broken design.

What's this, a weapon tier-list more than a decade after the game is published?
Yes.
I have Dead Space on the brain and I misspent many hours of my young adulthood on this game, so please suffer through my autism rant. My truth yearns to be told. I've stress-tested solo runs of every weapon back in the day and ran them through the Transit Hub fight as a testing ground to learn all the mechanics. And it needs escape after being penned-up for a decade. I love this franchise.
What's surprising about Dead Space 2 is that most of the guns are actually viable and fun. So even guns lower down on the list can comfortably beat the game if you know what you're doing. And there are very few actual truly bad weapons.
That said, here we go:
#1 Pulse Rifle (S-tier)
Best gun in Dead Space 2. Blasphemy. I know, I know, I love Plasma Cutter as much as the next guy, but after many many many playthroughs in Hardcore and Zealot, I have to narrowly award this the best gun.
Plasma Cutter is almost as good as the Pulse Rifle, but Pulse Rifle has a grenade launcher. So it has a built-in panic button that can just delete Necromorphs in a hurry. And like the cutter, has infinite range, fast reload, good damage and ammo capacity.
With the Cutter, I just leave it on horizontal cutting 100% of the time and never interact with the alternate fire mode. So the simple fact that there is a nuclear option on the Rifle puts it over.
You can animation cancel the Pulse Rifle to interrupt the burst to only fire one bullet. You do this by starting the firing animation then dropping the ADS midway. So you can always get pinpoint precise one-bullet shots doing this.
It's a bit hard to pull off under stress, but it's a great way of saving ammo if you have time to pick shots or just don't want to waste ammo on smaller and weaker targets. (The children Necros, for example.)
#2 Plasma Cutter (S-tier)
This needs no explanation. Plasma Cutter is the gold standard by which the other guns in this game are measured by. You can solo the entire game with this weapon and it's entirely self-sufficient and versatile in every situation.
While Plasma Cutter doesn't have a real "alt fire" mode, Stasis more than makes up for it. So that's not a real problem. And even so, it's an excellent gun if you position correctly. You don't really need "shotgun" support because the Cutter really is just that strong on its own.
#2 Javelin Gun (S-Tier)
The Javelin is just straight-up the superior version of the Seeker Rifle in every way. There's no tunnel-vision from scoping. It has pinpoint accuracy, high damage and high rate of fire. You can just kill Necromorphs by double-tapping Necromorphs in the chest. Weaker types just die in one-hit when fully upgraded. Also, it's ammo is stupidly cheap.
On top of that, it's alt-fire mode electrifies the last javelin you fired and then detonates it. So it's also an AOE explosive. You can also animation-cancel javelins to get them to detonate prematurely by firing another spear off.
Basically: This gun is just about spamming death spears without caring about cutting off the limbs mechanic. If one spear doesn't kill it, then two or three will. Who cares? High ROF and cheap ammo. If you somehow have terrible aim, don't worry, just buy more.
The only reason it isn't higher on this list is because it has a low magazine capacity and it's just a bit awkward to deal with swarm enemies. But it's still an S-tier gun. It's entirely self-sufficient and can deal with any situation in the game.
#3 Force Gun (A-Tier)
I'm dropping this gun down to A-Tier for a couple reasons.
First, it's not entirely self-sufficient. There are a few cutscene events where this gun will not do any damage. So you're forced to complement it with other weapons as companions to get through those parts.
Second, it has inferior range to every gun in S-tier. It's still very good range. It just isn't theoretically infinite.
But all that aside, it's a very comfy space shotgun. The primary fire zones enemies in your face and the secondary fire is a large blast that goes up to a good distance and does good amounts of damage. It's very forgiving and bypasses the need to aim at specific limbs. Counterintuitively, the primary fire is the utility while the secondary is the actual damage.
There is a bit of a charge delay to fire off the secondary, but I haven't found this to be a real drawback in actual stress-testing in gameplay. It's an easy weapon use to get excellent results.
#4 Flamethrower (A-Tier)
Yes. Flamethrower is a weapon players have been sleeping on. Yes it's better than everything lower on the list. Mald. Like the Force Gun, this weapon excels in medium to close ranges.
And by medium range, it's further than you think. The mistake most players (and myself) have made is that you underestimate its reach. It goes out a good distance so you need to fire a little early.
It like the Force Gun and Javelin gun doesn't care about aim. Just wash it over everything in reach and you will stunlock everything to death in a pretty short amount of time, even in Zealot. It's very good at zoning and controlling everything in reach. It has high capacity so you don't feel it's "wasted" on weaker enemies.
The alt-fire also throws a fire bomb canister as an AOE explosive. And it will pretty much one-shot most enemies. That said, it's strictly just a worse version of the the Pulse Rifle grenade because it doesn't detonate on impact, bounces for a bit and is a bit slow to fire and reload. Still, it's nice that you have the option.
#5 Seeker Rifle (B-Tier)
This gun is extremely fun to use, but has a high skill ceiling to get the same results as better guns. You have to just completely change your playstyle altogether to solo-run the entire game with this.
It's good in all situations theoretically, but really really hard to master. It has a medium rate of fire, low magazine cap and high damage. You can just body shot enemies to death because it does so much damage. The ROF is just low enough that you really can't make too many mistakes.
I've figured my way around this by just keeping the Seeker Rfile on full-magnification. I only pull up ADS when I'm ready to acquire a target rather than tunnel-visioning at all times. It's definitely a weird mentality to approach the game, but it taught me to start doing that on other guns since it's easier to maintain peripheral vision if you're not hard-scoped all the time.
#6 Line Gun (B-Tier)
It's just a worse Plasma Cutter.
Sorry, I want to like it, but I don't. It's theoretically self-sufficient in all situations, but its rate-of-fire is painfully slow and its alternate timed explosive is extremely awkward and slow to place. On paper, it sounds like a great weapon, but the details of its implementation suck.
It has a higher skill ceiling for worse results than any other gun above this one. There are a lot of situations where Necromorphs slip in between the pacing of my shots. And that's no accident. Every gun above this one can basically just stagger stunlock enemies with a high rate-of-fire, then follow up the stuns with more precise killing shots at a low investment in time/cost.
You cannot miss with the Line Gun. You have to be perfect to never take damage. And its high damage and forgiving width doesn't justify how clunky it is overall. It's a good gun held back by a few major flaws.
Keep in mind, I just listed two guns that are pretty much AOE weapons and are braindead to the point of never needing to aim. And here? You have a slow gun you have to aim. And on top of all that, those other guns just have better alternate fire modes.
The more precise guns higher up on this list don't need to be precise all the time. You can just hammer the chest of a Necromorph to stunlock it then slowly creep your shots over to a killing shot. Just that barrage of shots will kill faster than you think.
#4 Ripper (C-Tier)
So take all the complaints I had so far and apply it to this gun.
The primary fire only zones a tiny space in front of you. The Flamethrower and Force Gun far outclass it here. It also has a very low damage over time effect and you can lose the sawblade if you're hit by an enemy.
So yeah, you lose your defensive zoning if you're hit. The number of times I've had an enemy just jump past my sawblade to hit me is too numerous to count. This is not an issue with the other short-range guns.
It's alt fire is theoretically mid-ranged projectile. Just inferior in every way to every other gun above this one. Line Gun sweeps a larger area without any projectile drop off. Javelin has high ROF, pinpoint accuracy and raw damage. Flamethrower just blankets a cone that you can sweep back and forth while stunlocking anything caught by it. Force Gun has better AOE hitscan coverage.
This gun is the most overrated gun in the Dead Space fandom. It's a fun gun but it's just a security blanket for bad players. A crutch. I almost want to put it lower on the list out of spite, but it's technically viable without wanting to pull out all your teeth.
Oh and it's not self-sufficient because it won't work in all cutscenes. Just to add insult to injury.
#5 Contact Beam (D-Tier)
It's just a worse version of the Seeker Rifle and Javelin.
Yes it one shots enemies. But has a longer charge time than the Force Gun, which does pretty close to the same damage in most situations. The difference is the Force Gun barely needs to be aimed.
Seeker Rifle can basically pop off two shots in the same time. Javelin could hurl out 2-3. The Pulse Rifle probably can just more cost-efficiently spam grenades at everything.
Its alternate fire is just garbage. Again it one-shots in an AOE, but who cares? It locks you into the animation to execute and you will and can take damage during it. Stasis is just better in most situations.
Oh and all the ammo is expensive. There's just no point to this gun. Spamming Javelins is way cheaper and does more damage.
#6 Rivet Gun (F-Tier)
This is the DLC weapon. Again, fun for meme runs, but it's just a bad gun. It has a high rate-of-fire and high capacity but somehow does less damage and is less forgiving than the Ripper or Plasma Cutter. It's like the worst combination of every weapon.
The alternate-fire mode is wonky and inconsistent with its physics. Basically it explodes all the nails you've already shot into an enemy, but even this doesn't guarantee a kill. While other alternate fire modes just don't need all this set-up to instantly delete enemies.
#7 Detonator (Worst Gun)
Okay, in fairness this gun isn't supposed to be a primary weapon. I think its intent is to be this minelayer gun that you can use to prep the battlefield.
It's just bad at that too.
The Detonator basically sets lasers in a line. It fires projectiles if anything trips those lasers. Also I think it explodes? It's been awhile since I played the game, much less used this weapon. I just remember hating it.
It will explode if you manage to hit it perfectly on an enemy. But if you miss it'll just latch onto wherever it lands.
So you can't theoretically use it as a direct fire weapon. But it's hitbox is small and you'll miss a lot. And it won't guarantee a kill even if you do land the shot.
As a trap, it just isn't practical. You could spend the entire game mining every vent. But this is boring and unfun. Not every vent will spawn an enemy. And even if it does, the lasers are so precise and finicky that you can't guarantee that an enemy will trip it, let alone die instantly from tripping one.
You'll have to metagame to even use the weapon properly and it'll still suck.

The conditions are great both Work-Life balance and also salary, but they are requiring a 3-4 years of B4 exp and I only got like 2 and a half years.
I love to evolve and learn about new accounting and financial topics, but I'm afraid that this extra year they ask for will make me feel like a fraud in my new potential job.
Would you Accept de job y they hire me? And how would you discuss the salary? I would feel uncomfortable charging more than what I am really worth in the markup.

I sent my old best friend a short congrats letter for her graduating her school, and pursuing what she loves, and basically told her shes gonna go far and keep on proving the people who put her down wrong (because a lot of people do that), she responded with a thank you and said she hopes my family and I are doing well, and I responded with hoping her and her family are doing well, and she thanked me. Drinking at first is fun and games, but blackouts slowly will get worse. things you never thought you were capable of, things you truly despise, things you yourself are not okay with, you slowly allow yourself to do when your in the bottle. to anyone lurking, or thinking of cutting back, thinking of quitting -- I reccomend trying 3 weeks sober. Just try it. if your on the fence try 3 weeks to 4 weeks, maybe even 5. just see how you feel, and really reflect on said feelings. you will notice some key differences, and you should reflect on them. anyone whose sober rn -- Congrats, and for everyone -- keep up the good work. you all can do it. im boutta have a coffee, so have a sober drink with me in spirit! some of us come from more grim realities when drinking, some come from less, but, your life doesnt have to keep going down that path. you can turn it around and rise above the things youve done while under 'toxic influence'. So I’ve been riding a hard tail (Cannondale Trail SE) mountain biking for the last two years, and a few days ago got a Trek Fuel EX 8. Not sure if anyone here has recently made the switch or are thinking about it, but here are my thoughts after a couple rides (since my partner at home is sick of hearing me talk about it, lol)

• Coming from a hard tail, the super high bottom bracket that comes on a trail full suspension bike took some getting used to. Even with the rear shock locked out, sitting higher off the ground makes sustained climbs on dirt roads feel like a drag compared to a hard tail.
  
• Thank god for the mino link adjustment in the rear triangle. My first ride was in the “low” setting: I was very uncomfortable and felt like I could not get any weight over the front wheel, making climbs feel that much worse. And descending, I felt slow and a bit sloppy (even though I apparently still set several PRs on downhill Strava segments). I flipped the mino link to the “high” setting and it made a world of difference. I was able to get over the front wheel with ease both climbing and descending. Plus, the bike felt much snappier (though getting the suspension dialed probably helped with this too). I can’t imagine ever using the low setting if you care even the slightest bit about climbing efficiency. Although, I still need to drop my handlebars to see how that changes things.
  
• Even though dirt road climbs felt slower, climbing up single track was a thousand times easier than it ever was on a hard tail. I was able to clear a ~4.5 mile climb without stopping, when previously all the pumping to get over rocks boulders meant I’d have to stop at least once to let myself recover.
  
• I didn’t realize how much trail chatter was exhausting me on the hard tail. It was obviously nice to have the suspension descending, but having that suspension work over chunky flat sections was something I hadn’t thought of before.
  

I could say a lot more, but the main point is that I’m more than happy to sacrifice efficiency on road climbs to get to trails if it means I can have more energy and fun on single track.

Hello so a little backstory. My sister and her bf were together for like 3-4 years. They broke up like 2 weeks ago after she caught him cheating through text messages. They live together and he hasn't moved out yet since he's from a different state while they have a house in texas and it would take him a while to get back on his feet. She was sad and cried for days then one day woke up and said she was over him but was still sad and jealous because he wasn't hiding the woman he cheated with anymore. We've been hanging out alot with one of my guy friends to kinda keep her company. Now fast forward like a week later she tells me she has a crush on my close guy friend he's 27. I can count on my hands how many times he has came around. She's a grown woman but as her sister I'm so worried about her. She is basically obsessing over him even though she barely even knows him. She barely just got out of a relationship and she already feels like she wants to start one with him. She said she's been texting him to get to know him. She gets sad when he doesn't text. Her day is ruined if he doesn't reply. I've been wanting to tell her my thoughts on this because I don't think it's a good idea. It feels like she's using him as a rebound and she hasn't healed yet. I'm open to hearing everyone's thoughts on this I might be overreacting.

We are planning on doing a cross-country move from MD to AZ and found the U-Boxes to be cheaper than the box truck all in. I'm probably in between 3 and 4 boxes considering how much stuff we are planning to move, based on quotes the difference between 3 and 4 boxes is $500, which is a lot (for me).
So here is my question: If I order 4 boxes and end up using only 3, will U-Haul really refund me the full $500 from the difference in quotes? Or is there some sort of catch (seems too good to be true)? Does anyone else have experience with this?

Background: I have been seeing this guy for a about two months. We both are immigrants to the US, and he moved more recently than I did. We both are brown and generally he's a bit more conservative leaning. I know broadly he think/ knows that Roe v Wade is controversial. I myself am pro-choice and I've made that quite clear.

What's your stance on Roe v Wade"..rather I want to take a more directed apporoach so that I can understand the nuances of his response. I'm struggling to find some leading questions especially on how it applies to relationships. I'm looking for advice on how to carry forward such a conversation. I don't know how the conversation is going to play out, so I'm going to assume the worst and lay down all the traditonal conservative statements. I feel like english is not my strong suite is explaining these ideas so I'm trying to write them out here so that I can be better prepared for this convo (we communicate in English). Just to be clear, I'm also doing this excersise do be able to better articulate my views to other people regardless of weather I'm dating them, my parents, or friends.

1. "How much choice do you think a woman should have her own choice in carrying a pregnancy to term?"
2. "When you are married, do you think women should have complete control on wether to carry a pregnancy?"
3. "What are your opinions on birth control?"

Common arguments: and responses (after >>)

1. "Roe v wade doesn't affect mine and yours as much. I think women should have access to abortion “for a good reason”. i.e, abortion for rape or incest; or when there is an abnormal pregnancy" >> These are definitely special cases and I agree with you. What do you think outside of these special cases?
2. “People should be responsible…if the condom breaks you get Plan B." >>Birth control is ever 100% effective, condoms even if used correctly have a 2% fail rate.
3. Follow-up: "He acknowledges that, but says the odds are very small and basically if you have sex you should accept that risk and continue the pregnancy because “it’s not the baby’s fault”. >> It's not anyone's fault because accidents do happen. However, the only person bearing the consequences of those accidents is me. In which case, don't you think I should have the right to abortion?
4. "Abortion isn't fair because the dad doesn't have a say in it" >> Well, abortion isn't fair as though pregnancy and delivery are the most egalitarian things in the world. It's unfair because the entire process is unfair. Pregnancy can overtake a woman's life and literally all you had to do was orgasm. Nothing about that is fair!
5. "Then, for women who do have children that men aren't interested in having than they shouldn't have to pay child support" >> I don't have a good discussion point for this

Anyone else can think of any other common arguments they've had to deal with and followup discussion points?

Hello, I have been living with depersonalization-derealization disorder for almost 4 years now. A lot of things have changed in my life because of it, but not in the way I thought they would. After some time, I even realized what the statement "DPDR is a symptom, not a mental illness" really means.
So, I think it would be interesting to talk about what DPDR really is, but not just by discussing the strange impressions and sensations or the desperation to get rid of it. The answer to this question is unique for every single person, so trying to answer some questions about yourself can help to understand what DPDR means for you:
1 - DPDR is simply a term used to describe a peculiar situation of not feeling as you used to before. Therefore, what you experience is very different from what I feel or what anyone else feels. So, tell me, what do you know that is almost unique to your experience with DPDR?
2 - I have always had a considerable amount of self-awareness since I was a child, and it made my life miserable long before DPDR because I couldn't enjoy things the way a regular person does. I would constantly overthink every small activity in life and feel uncomfortable. Are you extremely self-aware? If so, for how long?
3 - Alcohol and nicotine have been a great relief for me to feel normal, and it has always been this way. These substances numb the discomfort of DPDR, but they also helped me cope with negative thoughts and anxiety even before I had DPDR. I feel more genuine when I'm drunk. Do you feel the same way with alcohol, nicotine, or other drugs?
4 - Is it difficult for you to emotionally connect with other people? Was it challenging even before DPDR?
I would appreciate reading your answers, but if you prefer not to share them, please try to answer honestly and understand the significance of your responses. I believe there is a profound sense of detachment from the world around us that can exist even without DPDR symptoms, and this detachment can contribute to the experience of DPDR. I don't know if resolving this issue will make DPDR disappear, but I do know that we often forget about it when we are preoccupied with DPDR. I'm not a doctor, nor do I claim that answering these questions about yourself will solve anything. However, personally, investigating my own answers to these questions has helped me find some peace of mind with DPDR.

This is a revised version of my original idea.
Step one take around 5% the transaction rewards and use it to purchase ETH and BTC.
These tokens are wrapped and used as defi rewards for BTC and ETH LP contribution on approved defi platforms.
Why, you may ask, would we do this?

1. the coins become more energy efficient on the network (go green)
   
2. This will incentivize people to bring more ETH and BTC to the network to yield farm.
   
3. With enough BTC and ETH liquidity In the system we will be less turbulent on violent swings. Much like how a Stable asset counters the downs and ups in a liquidity pool.
   
4. Since it should bring stability and liquidity into the network it would encourage developers from those ecosystems to work on ALGO.
   
5. With the new project there will be more transactions to create a self feeding mechanism that can continue to grow and attract more people.
   
6. These new developers and yield farmers will need algo for transactions and more importantly ALGO to protect their investment threw governance.
   

This is a more refined version of my previous plan and i feel it looks good on paper. Constructive criticism is welcome, just don't be a jerk about it.
