I was wondering if anyone had advice on this. When I first bought my house I got a security company (big name) and was paranoid so got cameras and all that. My mental health was bad then and as I got better I realized that not only did I not need these devices but also I didn’t get everything. So I called and cancelled and they said that I bought the equipment so I didn’t have to return anything.
Two years later I moved out of the country and have been back for three years. My house was flooded out during that time so they may have sent a letter and I never got it. But today I got a call from the county to schedule a document service. I called back and it went to a lawyers office and they said my number pulled up a case and I was being sued for 1,300 plus 2,000 legal fees by the company.
I read that the statue of limitations in NH was 3 years and it’s been probably 5 years at least.
Is that correct? What should I do about this? Can I reschedule this to a later date? Is this something I can fight without a lawyer?

Are the spots appearing on my calibrachoa something to be concerned about? I see a similar spotted effect on the leaves of a honeysuckle at the front of the house that was here before I moved in. I brought the calibrachoa home from a garden nursery about a week ago and I am about to put them in some hanging basket. I have only watered and applied some Plantsmith mist (usually meant for houseplants) to them over the last week.

I (19f) have a bf(19m) of almost two years. I woke up in absolute pain, my throat was sore and it hurt to drink, I had a fever. I asked my bf to take me to the pharmacy to pick up some medicine. I then mumbled, “I would understand if it was her car but it’s mine.” He didn’t really hear me but I went inside to greet his mom. (I don’t drive, but it’s my car from before we got together.) She noticed I wasn’t feeling well and offered me to stay in her home to rest and drink tea. My MIL is an angel, and it had nothing to do with her. Hello, I’m renting with two roommates and we’re in a situation where we did not sign a lease, and I think the landlord wants to fine me. I have some questions about this, but first context.
I didn’t see any rules about posting in this subreddit - so please delete this post if it breaks any rules or comment with your guidance.
I’m living with two roommates in the United States - I’m calling them 1 and 2. We’re in our 20’s. 1 took out a loan with their parents for the home, and invited 2 and me to live in with them.
We never signed a of lease or any legally binding agreement with 1 and their parents. We pay rent via venmo, which is relatively low for the area and i’m quite happy with it.
1’s dad is not impressed with how we’ve been keeping the yard. We have a mower with gas (i bought the gas with my own money), and it hasn’t been mowed for about 5 weeks. The grass in the yard is sparse, it’s a dry yard with several dead/dry spots, and it was maybe ankle-height at the tallest. Nothing out of the ordinary compared to the neighbors on our street, and we don’t have an HoA.
1’s dad came over unannounced and mow our yard on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. I was leaving for a wedding, and had come outside to pack my car and say hello on my way out. He was not happy, and 1 told me verbally that their father plans to fine us for his work.
I had been out of town for 2 consecutive weeks of the 5 weeks where the lawn was not mowed. 1 is unable to do the work due to a leg injury. I’m not sure why 2 didn’t get around to doing it. I’m not trying to point any fingers, we all could have done better. I’m planning to be maliciously compliant from now on.
I’m looking for a second opinion. If I don’t pay the fine, and 1’s parents decide to take legal action, what potential consequences am I facing if we don’t have a lease agreement? I am moving out of this house in about 45 days, and don’t mind putting up with 1’s angry parents but don’t want to be taken to small claims court or pay 1’s dad for his own decision to come over and mow our lawn on a holiday weekend. I’m not sure what the fine will be, but let’s say it will be $100 minimum.
What would you do in this situation? What advice can you offer? Thanks in advance!

New neighbor has a 10yo chihuahua. When they are gone during the day, they leave the window open in a room on an upper floor (that basically faces my house) and the dog barks there from morning till they get home from work at night. They have an autistic son in his teens who, I believe, stays home all day but not sure. I work nights and the barking is becoming untenable. Not to mention it can’t be good for the dog to bark all.day.long. Should I offer to let him out during the day or take him on walks with my dogs? Should I call police to do a welfare check? Should I talk to them at all about it? I just want to help if I can, and ignoring it is not a possibility unfortunately. I do some online work and sleep during the days, and that loud high-pitched barking is murder to my ears. Any advice would be really helpful. Thank you in advance!

First off, I never used to believe this and thought it was pseudoscience but I experimented on my own to see if I see any changes.
I got a grounding sheet with a small surface area and I got a small wire (lamp wire) and connected it to a 10 inch copper pipe.
I did not want to connect it to the house grounding because I want to control where the grounding is located to limit variables.
I used a smart watch to track my sleep and heartrate.
I noticed my sleep heartrate went from 50 beats to 48 beats which is a 4% decrease.
I kept taking the grounding off randomly to see if its just random but everytime my heartrate would be 50 without and with grounding it was 48.
So for the next phase I bought a larger surface area mat. Got a 10 gauge grounding wire and I got a grounding rod.
For the first two nights my heart rate dropped by 10 from 50 to 40. A 15% decrease in heartrate.
Now I am convinced it does something to the heartrate but I dont know why it would be beneficial and why would it even affect the heart.

My boyfriend (LL24M) and I (HL24F) have been together for 8 years. We recently moved to a new city and started living together (first time without roommates) and our relationship has been better than ever. We’re both in very happy points in our lives and we’ve barely had any issues as a couple since we moved. We’ve been having more sex than usual now that we live alone (about once a week at best) but I’m still always the one who initiates. Sex is amazing when we I do initiate it, he seems to really enjoy and is very forward (dominant even), but if I didn’t initiate I don’t think it would ever happen. It’s starting to make me feel like he doesn’t find me attractive anymore. I could be walking around the house naked or in lingerie and he still probably wouldn’t do anything.
We’ve had many conversations about this and he always says he doesn’t know why he doesn’t initiate but that he wants to fix it. He always feels really bad when I bring it up especially because I usually get upset about it. Last night I started crying because I was worried he didn’t think it was attractive anymore and I know it made him feel awful.

Hi! I'm putting on a very small show (no more than 25 people) in a backyard for two solo artists (playing guitar and singing). We won't have safe access to any electrical outlets–we'll be on the ground, with the nearest accessible outlets being near the back door on the 2nd floor of the house. Running extension cords/circuit breakers down from there sounds a little too risky for me.
The minimum things I want to amplify are electric guitar and vocals.
In an ideal world, I'd be amplifying guitar, vocals, a pedalboard, and a sampler.

Here's the equipment I have to work with:
- Fishman Loudbox Mini amp (has both guitar and mic inputs)
- Boss Katana-50 amp (just guitar)
- Shure SM57 vocal mic
- Plenty of 1/4" and XLR cables
- A pedalboard with an external power source

I feel like I'll need to get some combination of these things, but I don't know what:
- Some kind of battery-powered speaker for the vocals if nothing else
- 8-channel mixer (not sure which specific one or how it would be powered)?
- Battery-powered amp OR a lithium battery for an existing amp (only if it can be used safely)
- Power source for the mic?? (not sure this is needed)
- Either batteries for the pedals, or a battery-powered power soruce for the whole board
- ???

The minimum solution I can think of to this problem (other than saying fuck it and playing acoustic, haha): Getting a battery-powered amp with inputs for vocals and guitar, OR finding a way to safely externally power the Fishman amp.
The ideal solution: Something that would allow me to route a mixer (ins: amp, vocal mic, sampler) into speakers, all without using an outlet.

Here’s the deal. I am damaged goods and I need to vent here because I don’t want to bring my friends down. To say I have been through some shit is an understatement…
I guess I shouldn’t have started there, but then again where is the right place to start? So hi, I’m me… I just turned 40 this year and my reason for writing this is that after ten years of being single my heart wants its match.
10 years you say!? Yup, I was well and truly stomped on, basically ground to dust by my ex-husband. (Doubtful since I sound so bubbly, comic relief is a great mask my friend!) I’m also highly medicated, lol. I guess it’s not really funny but still. Most of the time I’m fine being alone. I have my kids (yes, his kids) and they are my main focus in life. But for the last month or so I have felt this need for that connection between mates, and I’m not just talking about sexy time but actual friendship, support, and caring. I’m not a jealous person by nature but sometimes when I look at the people around me I do envy their ability to have what I don’t.

How could I have picked such a horrible partner? Blind heart ache, I was desperate to feel loved, I was in a bad bad way the year before he came back into my life (yes, we had dated a few weeks in high school) my mom died and not just any ordinary death. I forgot to tell you I’m an only child and she was a single mother… meaning my best friend. After, suffering a stroke, I was the only one that could make the decision to take her off of life support. I held her as she died. (I told you I’d been through shit). My BFF says I looked for him as a way to try to hold on to the past. I think she is 100% right. She also says that I allowed him to get away with his manipulations because of how broken I was after mom’s death. If she’d been alive I never would have looked for him or been that weak. And him being the type of man that has fun destroying people took full advantage of the situation. Anywho, two babies later, several beatings and death threats later, I finally snapped the fuck out of my stopper when I came home from work one day to find him passed out drunk and or high on the couch… I found my babies at the other end of my house sitting in and covered in their own filth and crying. I ran away the next day. I never looked back, I cut all ties with him and his friends. I changed numbers and disappeared.
And now it’s been ten years… both my babies are now teens and taller than me. (I am only 4’11). They never ask about him… he’s in prison for beating another girlfriend.
My question is how do I move on to the next step? How does one even date now a days? I’m fucking 40! (Cringe) I don’t even know where to begin. And I fear that’s everything that I just said will be too much for anyone to want me. No matter how big I smile or how much I make you laugh can you look past everything that sits there behind me?

I am currently working for a small company in Orange County, Ca - 3 employees + 2 bosses/owners.
I came back from my vacation yesterday to find out that there was a big argument between one of the bosses and my coworker.
Essentially- the three of us decided to stop answering phone calls during our lunch break (1hr) because it usually involved talking to customers for 5mins or longer depending on their needs. And we aren’t getting paid for this and it snatches up our lunch time. No one wants to stop mid eating to work.
During the time I was on a vacation said boss got upset because the phone kept ringing and my two coworkers did not answer. It escalated to the point where they were both yelling at each other and my coworker mentioned that “legally” we are not required to answer the phone during lunch and that it should be as if we are not in the office
That same day the other boss pulled my other coworker aside and told her that we should answer phone calls during our lunch break as courtesy because of the “benefits” we are provided •1 hr lunch break •bonuses and pay increase based on performance every 6 months. • as well as a “flexible schedule”
And basically mentioned that these benefits can be taken away. But they were part of our employment offers.
Side note: the boss that started the problem has a history of yelling at employees (pretty much verbally abusive when he is mad) and speaking over us when we try to defend ourselves and the other boss always takes his side and never sticks up for us. They both always act like nothing happened when issues like these happen.
Any advise is welcomed.

I had to go on disability leave a few years back and I still haven't been able to get help from social security and we've run out of our extra funds ages ago. I've exhausted the nearby charities that could help with rent and utilities and still have our last month of rent to manage. We're moving across country to live with my fiancée's family because they can give us a place rent-free for a while (still need to figure out how to pay our bills, but not having to spend thousands on rent will def help with that).
The problem, of course, is that we couldn't afford to pay towards our debts once I had to leave my job and covid hit soon after, leaving my fiancée without a job for a while too. Even with unemployment coming in for her, we still had to take out loans and the like to try and get by, but we ended up having to stop paying towards those bills in order to make rent/medical payments with what little income we managed to get after that, so our credit scores plummeted and we're struggling to find any place that will lend us anything for our moving costs and last month of rent. My fiancée has been getting sick more lately too (I'm suspecting the stress is getting to her but I'm not entirely sure if it's that or a physical issue that we can't afford to take her to the doctor for). That, of course, has messed with what little income we have. And I was doing art commissions to try and supplement but my main platform was Twitter and now I'm having to try and build up a following elsewhere since so many left after Elon took over so my sales have plummeted. And with the need to pack and finish up commissions I already had that are due soon, I haven't really had the time to focus on building a new audience either.
I've used Dave to try and get a bit of a cash advance when needed but the most they let us take out is $75. Her job let's her take out funds early with a fee but that's usually not enough at the right time to manage rent, not to mention a move on top of that. We don't know where we could get a loan or anything of that sort when she's about to be without a job and I don't have one cuz of disability and both of us have history of not paying more recent credit/loans because of this situation (we both had excellent credit before and paid everything on time, but obviously can no longer do that). When we have attempted loans recently, we get turned down everywhere we try cuz of this. But I don't know what else to do or how to handle this. I've tried posting various places asking for donations or help with wishlists just to get some form of relief but the majority of people who contact me either want me to do something that's obviously a scam or to sign up for something I don't really want in order to help them before they'll send me anything (also possibly a scam).
I also am between banks as my bank closed my account after it was overdrawn too long. I'd love to know of some good places I could get set up with a new bank account but I'm unsure if anyone would let me without having money already available to deposit in the new account. Not sure how to handle that since that leaves us with just her bank account to be shared between the both of us.
I'm so tired and just can't think of solutions anymore. I feel like I've run out of options and I'm hoping someone can point me in a good direction just so we can make it through this month and the move. I just feel so hopeless right now.

Yeah honestly there’s a lot wrong with our story and a lot of characters act shady and do shit they shouldn’t, so there’s fingers of blame pointing in every direction tbh… and that I can live with
But the one elephant in the room, the bleak and existential dread inducing, particular part of this whole thing THAT FREAKS ME OUT THE MOST OUT OF THAT ENTIRE CONCEPT, FROM BEGINNING TO END, is that after the War is won and the conflict is over, the four children take their place as the royalty of this world within the back of a dusty ass wardrobe (spoiler, but it’s been out since 2004 or something.. their kingdom is called Narnia) and spend several decades as the monarch family of Narnia and they rly pulled a complete 180 in terms of their lives, their schooling and/or futures. Just lived as kings and queens of a fantasy land and friends with all the (talking, of course) animals, not just a goat lower body with a human torso and completely human face, but literal beavers, the kind that build dams.
Sounds ridiculous and insane but the kids absolutely fuck hardcore with the entire situation, like sign me up to wear a crown and hang out with what are essentially living cartoon characters 24/7. And IM TEN? Yea, of course I’m gonna stay and be the reigning royalty. The problem is these kids go to Narnia and fight for the throne and rights when they’re like, less than 15-16 at the oldest… and the Mfs come out in their middle aged years one day and they FALL BACK THROUGH THE WARDROBE and are children again. That is horrifying. Imagine being sentient for 40 years and then having to go back to living life from the perspective of a 10 year old…. And they can never tell anyone because who would believe them, and what would they do about it if they believed us anyways.
I’m afraid of the implicated consequences that C.S Lewis wrote into his story and didn’t consider the real life impact the concept might have on consumers mental health and general safety. I don’t feel safe here with this info.
