I'm going to university next year. There is a scholarship system in my state that says if you reach a certain GPA with only English, Math, Science, History, and language classes you get a x amount of money depending on the college you go to. I was .03 above in the green but my new transcript but me .044 below. I got 2 Cs and just feel awful. My brother was such an amazing student and got a full ride to his college and is now in med school. I'm in my safety and now have to tell my parents ,who will absolutely hate me, that I lost my scholarship. I have my school orientation tomorrow and they will talk about tuition, scholarships, classes, and other things. The good part is that in one semester I can actually earn back my scholarship but regardless my parents will be mad because they will not only have to support my tuition but also my brother's med school stuff. My family isn't poor but regardless I feel like shit that they're going to have to pay several more thousand dollars because of me. I just feel like shit and I have to tell them by tonight. My girlfriend has told me to just take the backlash and try to prove to them with actions that I can get my GPA back up which is all I can do. I feel like shit but there's only one option and that is to simply do better. Thanks for reading if you did.

2023.06.05 01:13 Jealous-Row9035 Incoming junior transfer, is this a hard schedule?

I’m going to be an incoming junior transfer in the fall, and I’m trying to complete the Psych major in two years. Is this too time-consuming of a courseload for my first quarter? FYI I would be trying to establish myself socially as a junior and find a circle of friends while taking these four classes:
  1. Intro to Psych
  2. Psych 10: Intro to Statistical Methods in Psych (kinda worried abt this class since I haven’t taken a math class in four years and am generally bad at math)
  3. Psych 60: Intro to Developmental Psych
  4. Art Studies 152: Soft Sculpture
I’d also be working as an RA at a Psych lab during my first quarter. Is this too much? Thanks!

2023.06.05 01:12 oh_she_thicc Whirlwind Barb is Critically Boring Now

Last night, I had just got the ring to reduce the cooldowns of shouts by 12 seconds and was slowly starting to come online an enjoy it more. Then this morning I see the nerfs and now the gameplay just feels so boring and clunky now.
We can do a little math to prove my point here. The shouts last for 7.4 seconds, with a cooldown of 25 seconds. This puts us at 17.6 seconds waiting for cooldowns. With the ring giving us -6 seconds we are now at 11.6 seconds downtime. Now adding the marshal glyph and activating it will give us -1.2 seconds every shout we cast, it's a nice addition. This will put us at 8 seconds downtime if you use all three shouts.
So what do I do for these 8 seconds? Nothing. I literally run in circles around the mobs because Lunging strike will target one mob and do a tickle of damage and generate no fury, and if I tried to spin, well my fury would be at 0 in less than a second. So according to the math I am able to do damage for 7.4 seconds and have to wait and do nothing for 8 seconds. That is more than 50% downtime. Sure I could throw in a call of the ancients in-between but that only solves one cycle and for the next 2 cycles its still the same.
This has caused the gameplay loop to feel incredibly lackluster and boring and honestly frustrating for me. If the ring hadn't been nerfed it would be at 2 second cool down for shouts which I think is reasonable. That's 2 seconds where I need to decide where to be to not die, then I can get right back into it.
Not to mention wave based content is nearly impossible to master, that I have stopped attempting those types of events. Due to the cooldown issues and the mobs being as spread out as they are getting it down in the time frame is not very feasible now.
Overall, my feelings are kind of mixed for the game especially after these sudden drastic nerfs that should have been addressed in the beta before launch, but hey what can you do. I'm curious if others are feeling the same or not.

2023.06.05 00:56 StrongHealthyMINMO Confused individual seeking help about vital strike math

95% of the tabletop games I've played have never really gone above level 10, so when my DM said he's going to run WotR, I knew I would inevitably encounter an issue where I feel like I'm doing the math wrong, so I am going to scream my calculations into this void and hope someone can tell me if and where I have made a mistake.
I just hit level 11 and got improved vital strike, so, I am going to break this down:
My normal damage is 2d6+12+3, IE: Base weapon damage, 1.5x my attacking stat because I am two handing (7+(7/2)) = 10.5 rounded down to 10, and then +2 due to weapon specialization, and my enchantment bonus of +3. Easy enough. I can also include my level to damage, as per CavalieSamurai challenge feature, so 2d6+12+3+11.
Now, if I were to use improved vital strike, with mythic vital strike, my math is something like this: 6d6+36+9 with an optional +33 if the target is challenged. IVS+MVS means basically I triple everything involved here. Though I'm not sure if I'm meant to just roll 2d6 three times ala 6d6 or do a 2d6*3, but I assume the former.
I'm, for the most part, confident this is all right thus far. But now I'm a little confused when I crit, because my character has a decent threat range. So far I have calculated it like this:
Assuming I crit a challenged target with MVS+IVS with my x3 weapon, I will, through my own calculations, be rolling: (2d6+12+3+11)*3+4d6+24+6+22, as I am under the impression that any vital strike crit should just be treated as if you crit with a single regular attack and any bonus damage you would be getting from vital strike normally does not apply to crits.
With this math finished, I have a few questions:
1) If I get Mythic Improved Vital Strike, would any of my calculations actually benefit from it at all? I assume I need some sort of enchantment based damage like a +1d6 bonus damage enchantment or some form of precision damage.
2) As a follow up to question 1, if I were to get an icy burst enchantment, how would this apply? I would assume I would get an extra 1d6 cold per vital strike 'tier', so 3d6 with MIVS, but what about the 2d10 on crits?
3) More of a general mechanic thing I'd like to clear up: If Vital strike is a standard action to perform, I cannot perform anything else that would require a standard action? IE: Another type of special attack that wants me to specifically use a standard action to do it. I haven't been doing this but I'm mostly just curious.

Im in a very complicated situation that ive had a lot of issues getting the information for , for starters im 20 years old and graduated in 2020 I took some years off that I am regretting now that im finally starting college this year , I did 3 years JROTC , no criminal history, dont drink dont smoke. I am going to a community college for my first 2 years that has a crosstown agreement with USF that has an AFROTC detachment, my current plan is a history major and to attend ROTC next year that way my freshman year I can focus on getting used to the classroom life again, get good grades and focus on my fitness goals for when I do attend ROTC , so my sophomore year I will do ROTC crosstown from my community college and then the final 3rd and 4th year I will be at USF full time , my questions are , does anyone see any immediate glaring issues with my plan? and can anyone whos done crosstown tell me how difficult it is to balance the normal classes with the ROTC ones and the long commute ? my commute would be about 1 hour and another hour back.
I am very committed to joining the air force as an officer it is entirely the reason I am going to college and some of you may be wondering why I chose a history major and the truth is I am horrible at math and I know I would struggle with a STEM related major and I know that with the history major I will be able to keep my GPA high , sorry for the essay but any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello, I am a first year teacher at a very small school. There are only 3 teachers in my department and we cover all of the courses and most classes only have 19-27 kids in them. I’ve noticed my principal is conducting demo lessons for teachers with the same license as me. I am even more suspicious because we have a slight enrollment decline next year too.
I brought it up to the assistant principal and was told that there were a lot of options and one of the options was so that we can teach more electives. However, I did the math and that would mean that we would have at least 1-2 of us teaching more than one course “out of license” which I don’t think is allowed.
Should I really start looking elsewhere or am I being paranoid? I have an effective rating overall but I have written a rebuttal to a bad observation I received.

2023.06.05 00:44 Jaded_Community723 Diffuse Large B Cell Treatment Protocol Up and Down-not reacting to treatment plans

I hope making this thread isnt a mistake as I'm prone to anxiety but I feel like this is the best place to vent and my parents are lovely and sensitive people that I can't talk to regarding my feelings of doom.
I was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell at Stage 2 at the end of January 2023. I'm 31.
Was placed on a 6th month weekly regimen that consisted of E Chop with myself going through one day of a longer chemo session, afterward carrying a pump around for 24 hrs for 4 days or so, until one final shorter infusion followed by a shot.
After the 2nd treatment, I was seeing amazing results. The lymph node I had was the size of a golf ball under my armpit, and treatment helped drastically reduce the size. My quality of life immediately improved. The tumor under my armpit had been impacting my brachial plexus and had been making the pain in my back very stiff. My parents were constantly massaging it as it somewhat helped Also had heaps of tingles, throbbing, weakness, pain I could only describe as "sharp" and as if it was flowing through my blood (this is a blood cancer). My right arm was essentially useless and oxycodone gabapentin helped a lot.
Come to around the third treatment, I noticed that the mass felt like it was growing again. I immediately contacted my oncologist. Was placed on radiation treatment. After two weeks...scan showed that radiation was doing nothing to relieve size. It was essentially almost back to its original size and causing me distress every day.
Next plan is... Emergency chemo followed by Cart T Cell which has thankfully been approved (was told that treatment usually costs $850,000).
Now...I'm in the hospital waiting for my Cart T Cell Treatment. I'm pretty scared... terrified. I feel like my body is doing an incredible job at killing itself by not reacting to treatment. Taking it day by day...constantly paranoid about my health.
I guess I wanted to reach out to people that may have experienced something similar. I miss my old life...I miss being normal. I took so many things for granted.

Practice Paper bhi de rha hu, Backlog bhi cover krra hu across 3 months till august. 3 mahine me organic ka plan bhi under progress hai, par sachme, I have 0 hope that I will clear JEE atp. Mains me shayad kuch acha aaya toh bhag jaunga jaldi iss jagah se Class me questions nahi bante par ghar aake kar pata hu toh aisa lagta hai ki jee advanced ka exam temperament toh mereme 0 hai bc.
I literally sleep for 4 hours, study for 8-12 hours+classes and then I also lift weights atleast 4-5x a week ( I will literally off myself if I stop doing that)
Anyways, I have classes 3x a week only, so I'm thinking that would it be feasible to continue with this breakdown of studying?
Non Class Days~ 3 hours organic, 2 hours maths till teacher has taught, 2 hours physics till teacher has taught. Remaining time backlog (approx 3-4 hours)

I have to do a state exam this month for 100% of my Math grade for the entirety of all 3 of my HS years (not American). I have been failing Math since 7th grade and I haven't been able to complete a Math question since 2 years ago. My other grades are actually above school average, but I'm so bad at Math that they kicked me out of the class this year LMAO. I think I'm screwed... Wish me luck, I won't give up! If I can't do it this year I'll keep on trying!

A lot of the tutors I have come across at UCF also don't really know how to do the calculus that we are working on for cal 2 and I don't know where else to look because my professors office hours are kinda incompatible with my schedule and I don't think that amount of time is helpful enough. Every private tutor I have spoken to has told me upon seeing what i'm working on that they can't help with what we are doing, and those are the ones that are affordable and available in person (not paying 189 per hour to learn especially if it's online). I don't bother with online tutors because I could just watch online videos for free and math services I already pay for. For anyone who got through Cal 2, what did you do? what did you find most helpful? I dedicate all of my time to studying but I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I'm not progressing. --- I'm also feeling lonely but the only thing I can afford to do is focus on my math.---- I wish I had a calculus cutie who would help me with my homework and give me little kith when I got something right, that would solve both of my problems.😞
EDIT I do go to the MSS That's what I meant when I said tutors at UCF.
