It would be a good idea to take Google and IBM certificates alongside?

2023.06.06 21:23 NewbieHere96 It would be a good idea to take Google and IBM certificates alongside?

I'm currently studying excel to take the MO-201 test next month, alongside, I'm taking a very entry level sql course to get Pearson's VUE databases certificate in a couple of months. That said, I want to know if you guys think that It would be a good idea to take both Google and IBM certificates alongside? Has someone here already did that? How was your experience?
I already know that these courses teaches different code languages and data visualization tools, that's why I'm mainly asking this.
Thanks in advance.

2023.06.06 20:43 SkinnyPaddy Passed DVA-CO2

After lurking on this subreddit for the past couple weeks now, I have passed my DVA-CO2 exam yesterday. Got the results this morning bang on 10am. Scoring a 909. I'm a 6YOE frontend engineer doing this exam to get a better understanding of cloud and infrastructure. A handful of the services I've used in passing and had exposure to, like lambda, S3, secrets manager. Would highly recommend the resources I've used to go in depth on the topics. Stephane's Udemy really should prepare you for any question that gets thrown at you (although its a bit shallow on VPC which I'm pretty sure tripped me up in this exam)
I got the Udemy course a month ago and set myself the goal of doing it within a month. Definitely was tricky given the timeframe. I revised most days after work and at the weekends. Cheers to everyone on the subreddit posting their wins or commenting, definitely puts you at ease seeing all the wins and helpful comments when you're prepping for your exam. Definitely thought the exam was easier than the practice exams (more so fewer hard questions but the level of difficulty was about the same as TD). I did it in person with PearsonVue after seeing some of the stories of people trying to do it online.

2023.06.06 20:26 vestta84 PearsonVue issues

Hey community - I was taking the FSOT at home today and my computer crashed. I called right away and got assigned a case number thinking I’d hear back in a few days but then I got my test results. I was halfway through the English language expression. My test result was - as you can imagine - abysmal. BUT now I’m confused because since my computer crashed I just assumed the test would be null and void but the FSOT portal is showing I’ve passed on to QEP.
I’ve scanned the group for these kinds of issues (wish I had done that before!) but I’m really just wondering if you can fight to get the test invalidated and just reschedule it or cross your fingers and hope that the abysmal score won’t matter as much now that the process has changed?
Thank you !

2023.06.05 23:42 Flashy_Understanding Pearson Vue Trick

Good Evening!
I took my NGN NCLEX today and got the good pop up, however without knowing I took my exam my friends said when you get the max amount of questions the pop up is not correct.
Well obviously I’m so terrified as I got max questions (150) and already felt bad, the good pop up calmed me down some but then they said it doesn’t count for people the get all 150 because person vue needs to double count the exam.
Anyone have anything to say towards this?

2023.06.05 19:45 BASICally_a_Doc Pearson Vue Question- Can we wear a sweatshirt in the testing room?

Title. Just saw no coats/jackets on the prohibited list- I'm guessing that probably means no sweatshirts are allowed with us in here either. Anyone know what temp they usually keep these places?
TIA for help with silly day before question.

2023.06.05 01:24 AmbitiousSquirrel136 Pearson Vue won’t launch because “common agent” is running. I can’t find this in the task manager and I was unable to take my math test today.

The proctor who helped with reading knew how to close this but the 2 I had today did not.
Anyone else having this problem and know how to solve it?
I’m running Samsung laptop with windows 10.

2023.06.04 16:04 cat6Wire Passed my AZ-900 Fundamentals

I passed the AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals exam yesterday, achieving a score of 805 (700 needed to pass). This was through Pearson/Vue, and I took it at home.
The exam was a bit different than the practice exams I was working with on Udemy, the wording seemed to force you to read carefully to choose the _best_ option. Honestly, while taking it I was quite pessimistic and was mentally preparing myself for a fail. Genuinely shocked and surprised when it said I passed!
Very happy and relieved, and as it turns out, just this week I am interviewing for my first Data Engineer opportunity, so I was keen to get this achievement to mention at the next round of interviews (hopefully there will be another round!).
Most of my prep was Udemy courses and the Microsoft Learn modules. We use Azure at my job so it was helpful to have it to refer to and do real-world scenarios that translated well during my experience on the test. Keep at it and good luck you can do this!

2023.06.04 12:10 soybeanz___ What I Wish I had known before taking the NCLEX...

Hey Everyone!
I passed the NCLEX on June 1st in 85 questions. Prior to taking this test, I scoured this subreddit for weeks. Looking for tips, tricks, and any information that I thought would help me succeed. As someone who was seeking advice here, I thought I would pay it forward and provide some insight. Here all the things I wish I had known prior to taking the NCLEX:
  1. LOOK AT THE NCLEX TEST PLAN ON THE NCBSN website!! This provides a guide for the exam that gives you a sense of content the NCLEX is looking for. I wish that this had been the first thing that i had done. It is a great reminder that the NCLEX is all about the fundamentals and safety!
  2. As far as testing goes, KNOW YOUR CORE CONTENT AND PICK THE SAFEST ANSWER. Your fundamentals and test taking strategies will go a long way. You will not know EVERY question on this test, and that is okay. But knowing how to derive the answer from your answer choices using testing strategies will take you far. I truly recommend the Mark Klimek lecture 12 on prioritization and delegation and the NCLEX Crusade Youtube Channel.
  3. Find a Qbank that works for you. Personally, I found Archer to be extremely similar to the NCLEX testing format. It was comforting to see a format that looked so familiar.
  4. Set a test date and time BEFORE you begin studying. If you do not have your ATT quite yet, pick an ideal test date. This will give you a goal to work towards so there is no time wasted! Take an 85 question practice exam at the EXACT time of your NCLEX test time every day in an area that simulates a quiet testing environment. Repetition and practice in these environments builds confidence!
  5. At the testing center, before you click begin on the exam, sign your name at the top of your white board "name, BSN, RN". If you get discouraged, look at this and take a second to breathe. We will all be RN's soon enough and this was a great reminder for me. Nursing school was the hard part! This test is simply one last chance to demonstrate your knowledge, hard work, and dedication.
  6. After the Exam, I did the pearson vue trick as soon as I received the exit email from Pearson. This was 30 minutes after my exam. I received the "good pop up". I do believe that the good pop up is a valid indicator of passing as every person I have spoken to has found this to be true.
I personally thought the NGN NCLEX was a fair test that required you to critically think like an RN. I hope this helps! I would love to hear about other's thoughts and experiences!

2023.06.04 05:31 TrustMeImAProctor No available July dates for rescheduling Level 2!

I'm currently scheduled to take Level 2 at the end of June. I spoke with our school's dean who recommended that, based on my COMSAE and feeling of preparedness, it would be best to move the test date to sometime in July.
I just looked to reschedule and there are no available dates in July! I even selected multiple Pearson VUE testing centers in my area but still nothing :(. Anxiety just went through the roof.
Is it realistic to expect a testing date and time to open up in my immediate area for sometime in July? Should I be constantly checking the schedule throughout the day?

2023.06.03 20:48 NigerianWizard Provissionally passed @ 132 (April - June 2023)

Hey all, I provisionally passed earlier this-morning ~132 after ~1h30mins, figured I'd post my experience here as this subreddit has been a big part of my prep for the exam.
To give some background, I've worked as a SOC Analyst, dealing with Security Operations & Incident Response for 5 years now as of January 2023, which prompted me to attempt the exam given the experience requirement.
The only other form of "Big" certification I have prior to the CISSP was the GIAC Certified Windows Forensic Analyst.
I began studying the first week of April 2023, with the Sybex Official Study Guide & Official Practise Test bundle. I spent the first 2 and a half weeks reading the OSG cover to cover, making sure to take the end of chapter review questions at the end of each chapter. I didn't do to well in the end of chapter exams, usually hovering ~60-70%, but that was to be expected given I hadn't really taken any noted, just highlighted the parts I deemed important.
The first few chapters of the OSG I found to be extremely dry and hard to get through, but as soon as the chapters on Cryptography came about, the read from there was a lot more interesting since I'd consider myself a technical person moreso than a "Managerial" person.
Once I had completed the OSG, I began attempting the Domain Specific question pools from the Official Practice Test Book, but I quickly grew tired of manually tallying up my answers and grading the questions myself and stopped maybe 3 domains in.
From here I found the LearnZapp mobile app, and through this subreddit, discovered they contain the same pool of questions as the Official Practice Tests. Overall, I attempted 2050 questions in the LearnZapp question pool, 1461 Correct, 589 Incorrect, with an overall readiness score of 73%.
From here I moved to the PocketPrep app, which I personally enjoyed a lot more than the LearnZapp questions. I took all 1000 of the PocketPrep questions, with a final score of 810/1000, or 81%.
For both of these mobile apps, I purposefully choose to omit missed/incorrect questions from my question pool as to not create a false sense of security through simply memorizing incorrect questions. I did of course read over why my answer was wrong though.
Next, I purchased the Boson Questions pool. I did not make use of all 700 questions available on Boson, as at this point I had already done ~4000 questions across the OPQ, LearnZapp & PocketPrep. For Boson, I did smaller test of ~30 questions every couple days. Scores here ranged quite a bit, from 96% at the highest, and 63% at the lowest.
The week of my exam, I tried to to one full exam simulation per day (175 Questions), with scores of 66%, 73%, 69%, and the night before the exam, 67%. Although most of these exams were under the 70% pass mark, and therefore considered a fail, I didn't let that get me down as I remember people stating the Boson exam pools were quite a bit more difficult/technical than the actual exam.
About 4 weeks out, I watched PEte Zerger's CISSP Exam Cram series. I took handwritten notes for each domain, which I found really helped solidify the concepts for me.
2 weeks before my scheduled exam date, I also puchased a Cybrary subscription and took Kelly Handerhan's CISSP course which I'd highly recommend. Kelly's humour and ability to really simplify hard to grasp concepts made the course really beneficial to me. I took handwritten notes for each chapter, but chose to skip the lab portions and simply stick to the videos.
During the final week, I also took Mike Chapple's CISSP Exam Practice Test, in which I scored 76%.
The morning or the exam was rough, didn't sleep until ~midnight, then had to wake ~3am to catch the train to the exam centre, which itself was a 3.5 hour train ride (we have 1 PearsonVue centre in my entire country!).
By the time I walked to the exam centre I had roughly an hour to kill, so decided to watch Kelly Handerhan's "Why you will Pass the CISSP" video due to multiple people referencing it in their experience posts on here.
During the actual exam I wasn't really nervous, but didn't feel confident at all. Multiple people have referenced it already, but the questions are phrased quite a bit different to any of the practise questions I had done. Definately less technical than the Boson pool and about on par with the CertMike/PocketPrep questions, just phrased in a unique way.
Throughout my 132 questions I felt confidend in maybe ~20% of my answers, the remaining was made up of wittling the possible answer down to 2, or making an educated best guess from the possible choices.
When the exam ended on question 132, I genuinely wasn't sure if I had passed or not, but was relieved when the attendant's handed me my slip and it said congratulations.

2023.06.03 17:47 Hzk0196 issues with first-party spa authentication with session-based auth

hey there i hope you're doing fine i'll first share configs & .env file so we can be in the same page https://pastecord.com/epicewadac.php so i have an issue when Authenticating my first level spa with sanctum, in the docs they mentioned to firstly make a request to `sanctum/csrf-cookie`, i do that onMounted in vue, 1) i get the csrfCookie and put it in header for the next request with fetch interceptor 2) when i try to login or register, it depends on which routes i call `web.php or api.php` > at first i had everything inside the api.php; the register worked with the csrf and everything, but the login returns an error; ('Session store not set in request'); i understand the difference between stateful & stateless, mainly it has to do with the session cookie; i had the idea to switch to web.php (following GIO's tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPKd3q-iaVs&t=417s&pp=ygUoc2Vzc2lvbiBiYXNlZCBhdXRoZW50aWNhdGlvbiBsYXJhdmVsIHNwYQ%3D%3D) now both the register & login return a csrf mismatch , even when i send the csrf cookie in header as 'X-XSRF-TOKEN' as recommended in the docs here's my repo https://github.com/Hamza-KhiaUptime-Monitotree/main/backEnd

2023.06.03 16:35 sarahbeth1992 I passed NGN in 85! My experience

I am officially an RN! I graduated May 5th and took my test on May 31st.
I think it’s hard to “study” for this test but what you can do is get a q bank to see where your weaknesses are and focus on those.
The only thing I really used was Uworld, I did about 52% of the Qbank and my average was 81%. My weakness was maternity so I focused a lot on that and reviewing material from that. I am so glad I did because I got a lot of maternity on Nclex!
I’m not going to lie, I thought I was failing Nclex. I got so many random medication questions that I didn’t know how to answer. Like off the wall, out of left field uncommon drugs patient teaching. I talked to a friend after who said Mark Klimek says if you are getting random pharm questions that’s a good sign! I didn’t know that because I didn’t use Mark Klimek—- would have saved me as lot of grief.
I walked out thinking I failed when it shut off at 85. Did the Pearson vue trick, got the good pop up, and that soothed me a little. Checked Ohio Board of Nursing Website the next day and my license was issued!
Any questions? Feel free to ask! Don’t overthink Nclex too much. Figure out your weak areas and review that content and kind of go from there. I do think it’s hard to really study and review everything, unless you’re taking 3 months to study. Just my opinion.

2023.06.03 07:43 10shelby1999 Passed NCLEX RN NGN

I promised myself that I would share my story if I passed so here it goes!
I graduated from RN school on May 12. My school sent my transcript a week later on Friday May 19 and I got my ATT on Monday May 22. So I imagine that it takes one business day to get your ATT after your school submit your transcript to the board nursing. I had all of my other required documents submitted before I graduated on May 3 so that I was ready to schedule my test. I got to schedule my test on June 1 which was the earliest date available.
I have taken the LPN NCLEX before this so I kind of had an idea of what I was going into except that it was not an NGN test.
Here’s what I studied. I used you UWORLD and Kaplan.
UWOLRD: I answered about half of the quiz bank on uworld. I averaged about 75 Questions a day and had a quiz bank score of 58% using the old way of scoring and a 68% using the NGN Way of scoring. I took 2 self assessments on uworld. The first one I took a month before I took the NCLEX and scored a high chance of passing. The second one I took a week before the test and scored a very high chance of passing. I do like using uworld for a couple reasons. One is that they have a Phone app so I could do questions on the go and did not need my laptop to do it. I also think that they have a good rationales that are easy to understand. The actual and clicks, however, is a bit more vague, and has a lot less wording than that Uworld questions. For me the NCLEX was harder than Uworld.
Kaplan: I use Kaplan mainly for testing purposes, and to see how I was placing. I did not use quizbank. I took two CAT test and scored a above the passing rate on both of them with a mixture of green and yellow subcategories. I also used the diagnostic test which gave me a 68%. I also use Kaplan throughout all of school and remediated most of the previous test I have taken.
I also watched a couple of YouTube videos, such as the one hour review by beautiful nursing, and some of the simply Nursing Videos as well.
The test itself was pretty difficult. I would say it was much more difficult than the LPN test. I had taken my test cut off at 135 questions. I had a lot of bowtie questions, select all that apply, and small case studies. I did not have very many traditional questions. I felt like I was telling throughout the whole entire test. I felt like I was also guessing. My last two questions were regular questions, and they were not hard at all so for the people thinking that you can tell whether you pass by if your last question was a select all that apply and if it was difficult both of my last two questions were not difficult or select all that apply. After my test shut off, I believed I had failed because of my last two questions were super easy and I had not heard of anybody’s test shutting off 10 questions before the maximum amount of questions before in passing. I was for sure that I was going to have to do all the questions. In fact, I was so sure that I had filled the proctor lady had to console me because I was crying so hard leaving.
After 30 minutes of me sitting in the parking lot crying, I tried it, the Pearson Vue trick and got the good pop-up. I couldn’t believe it. In fact, I didn’t believe it and I had to wait till I got my results to really celebrate.
I got my license from the board of nursing approximately 20 hours after finishing the test. I could not get quick results because you have to wait 48 hours and I got my license before quick results were even ready. I’m still in shock. I completely thought I failed, and I really only could tell you three questions that I know I got right. But I indeed did pass, and I am officially an RN.
A couple notes:
  1. Remember, if you are still in the test, you can still pass or else they would cut you off. I got nervous after 85 questions that it did not shut off and I gave myself a confidence boost at 25 questions are inviting myself of this. It wasn’t within 10 questions of me saying I can still pass and focus really hard on those 10 questions and the test shut off for me. SO IF YOU ARE STILL IN THE TEST, YOU STILL HAVE A CHANCE NO MATTER WHAT QUESTION YOU WERE AT.
  2. The Pearson Vue trick has worked for me and a all of my classmates. It seems to have a 99% chance of being accurate if you get a good pop-up you passed. But only about a 75% accuracy of getting the good pop meaning you failed. If you get the bad pop-up, it does not necessarily mean you failed just maybe they had to grade your test by hand. But then again it is still 75% accurate that you did indeed fail.
  3. Study before you graduate be prepared to take your test as soon as possible. The longer you wait the more of a chance do you have of not passing.
Thank you all if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate and asking me! I hope everyone passes!

2023.06.03 07:20 Ucscaly89 I passed nclex June 1st and my test shut off at 85.

I used nursing.com simclex was definitely useful and mimics the exam look and feel. It is as hard as the nclex. The thing about the nclex, go in with the mindset that 150 questions is okay, go slow and re read the question and answers three times, breathe and take a break.
Our school used ATI for predictor exam, capstone and the live review. Do I think it helped, i have no clue, I think the content is there and was helpful but I preferred nursing.com questions and modules!
I did do the pvt and got the good pop up but honestly it didn’t calm my nerves, I didn’t feel good until tonight which was at 30 hrs testing my Bon posted my license. Pearson vue isn’t even show results yet. So it’s true your BON could post your license before the quick result option.
Good luck everyone! You got this!

2023.06.03 02:36 Lamangi PA NCLEX Timeline?

Hi everyone, I took my NCLEX yesterday, June 1st, at 5 PM. Does anyone know how good PA has been at getting results back to people? Will I get them (even the unofficial ones) on Saturday? Does Saturday count as a business day for the NCSBN/Pearson Vue/PA? I got the good pop up when I tried to re-register. Would just like the results ASAP for peace of mind and to advance my start date. :) Thanks!

2023.06.02 22:08 Reddit7317 Exam Revoked. Best Practice: Take the test at a center.

A humbling (if not humiliating) post. The proctor ended my exam. I hadn't even read the 1st question.
Situation: I read the online instructions prior to the exam, the day before the exam, and during the check-in process. The Pearson VUE guide for online exams stated the following with respect to Visibility/movement: "Throughout your exam, you must stay in your designated testing space, in view of your webcam, unless your program specifically allows breaks."
I interpreted "throughout your exam" as you have to stay in front of the camera once the exam STARTS, not prior to it (I know, this was in ignorant on my part. I was nervous/excited and had a lapse in judgement). I was in the process of going through the Pearson Vue tutorial, realized that I forgot a stool for my feet and left the camera for 3 seconds to grab a stool in the same room before sitting down for 2+ hrs. The proctor chatted in and asked why I left my camera - I explained that I grabbed a stool; that I didn't realize I couldn't get up during the software tutorial, before the exam started; apologized and promised it wouldn't happen again. Proctor said "Alright." I started the exam, was in the middle of typing out my notes on the virtual scratch paper and got the notice that my exam was revoked for leaving my seat.
I immediately called Pearson VUE to explain what happened. The rep was sympathetic, found my case, and added a note in there that it was an honest mistake. I told him it would be considerate if Pearson Vue allowed folks to have their space re-inspected if there are honest mistakes like that before the exam starts since this is new to so many people, there are no opportunities to ask questions before starting, and folks pay hundreds of dollars to take and prepare for these exams. He acknowledged my feedback and also recommended I call PMI immediately so they have it in their records that I wasn't trying to cheat. I called PMI. The rep, also sympathetic, said I need to wait 5-7 days for my case to be reviewed and to expect an email about my case's determination. I told the PMI rep I had the case number from Pearson VUE (that the rep gave me), she said that was really helpful for her to include in her notes for potentially faster review w/the authorities that be. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll let me reschedule for free. In the meantime, here are some tips below.
TIPS:
LESSONS LEARNED:
AR highly recommends taking the exam at home, but it really depends on your testing style and if you feel like you can follow and interpret all of their rules correctly. I consider myself a rule-follower and still made errors. Perhaps more research on online testing tips could have helped? My hope is that by going to an in-person location, there will be more flexibility to ask the proctor questions and also take the exam in a way that fits my style more (i.e. looking forward & up, moving around more, etc.). One person mentioned their proctor revoked their online exam for moving out of the camera even though they didn't - so scenarios like that make online exam too risky for me. The exam is already stressful enough, so the last thing I want to worry about is if I'm covering my mouth accidentally or if I'm moving too much - there should be more flexibility to allow for human comfort in exam taking.
I took the exam while in-between jobs, my new job starts in a week, so I will have to request a day off to take the exam or find an available Saturday slot - the PMI rep said it's super hard to find a Saturday spot since they fill up so quick. Also, my future manager is aware that I was going to be taking the exam prior to my start date, so I am not looking forward to explaining this to her.
For what it's worth, I wore blue 😂.

2023.06.02 20:15 Romeo628 Anyone else send their own transcripts to CA board of nursing?

My school said they won’t even start sending paperwork to the CA board of nursing until “The week of June 19th.” I already paid for Pearson vue and made an account with Breeze, did the livescan fingerprints, and the transcripts are the last step.
I sent the board my own transcripts through my school’s transcript portal called “National Clearinghouse.” I sent my transcripts a couple of days ago hoping to get my ATT sooner so I can take Nclex already, but now I’m worrying I may have messed up the process somehow lol.
Has anyone else did this in CA? I know it says your school will do it for you but I don’t want to wait that long just for them to start the process of sending them on the 19th. I already graduated 2 weeks ago and I’m ready to take it
