Would appreciate a clear non-biased answer regarding slaughter, sacrifice and consumption of cow/horse/bull throughout vedic history

2023.06.09 10:32 man1c_overlord Would appreciate a clear non-biased answer regarding slaughter, sacrifice and consumption of cow/horse/bull throughout vedic history

Conflicting answers present everywhere; some sources say that the vedas and vedic religion had invoked animal sacrifice (and consumption), but over time, this sort of sacrifice was frowned upon - according to the bhagwad geeta. however, ashwamedha (horse sacrifice) is mentioned in mahabharat as well (Ashvamedhika Parva).
some other online sources claim that this was always forbidden right from the time of the vedas.
so what was it? do the existing bodies of the vedas shed clear light on this manner? if your answer supports the latter, please explain why vedic religion involved animal sacrifices.

2023.06.09 10:30 YogurtclosetInner961 Struggling with bisexuality preferences

Sorry this is a long one. I’m 26F, in a relationship with a man. I’ve struggled with my sexuality since I was about 14. I’ve felt sexual attraction to men and women since I was young. As I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten quite obsessive about my sexuality and I’ve been diagnosed with OCD over the past 2 years. I’ve only ever been with men, I’ve always had good experiences and enjoyed it very much. I know a lot about comphet and I’ve spent lots of time figuring out my desires and if my attraction/desire from men comes from being desired and I fully believe that it doesn’t. When I’m sexuality attracted to a man I feel turned on by them, by the thought of sex with them, touching them, especially their penis. I like giving and receiving oral sex with men and I always cum with men because I’m aroused by that particular man going down on me.
I’ve never been with women, I never felt I really needed to until I ended things with a guy I was seeing a few years ago and decided I’d spent a lot of time focusing on men and I’d like to explore my attraction to women. I started feeling a bit odd after sex with the guy I was seeing and decided he wasn’t for me. I found in this time my attraction to men decreased, although I was also purposely not focusing on them. My attraction for women increased and was definitely more intense then anything I’d felt before. I noticed their bodies more than I had before and felt a pull to them that I didnt previously. I wasn’t going to label myself in this time cause I was just letting myself be. There were feelings I felt in this time for women that I would say I hadn’t felt for men, but it wasn’t like a woah okay I’m gay, just more a okay this feels more intense.
In this time I started to develop feelings for a close male friend, this caused a lot of confusion cause I wasn’t finding myself attraction to other men, but I found myself thinking about sex with him regularly. I felt a pull to be close to him and when we finally got together and kissed it was like “woah” the world stopped, fireworks, the whole deal. Being around him made me feel calm, it was like a chemical reaction. We’re now dating and we have a beautiful relationship, I really see a future with him.
The few things that have caused some doubt in my mind about if I’m actually a lesbian and just kidding myself about being bi. I’m generally more turned on by women, I’m more attracted to their bodies, I feel more of a desire just from looking at them. With men I feel desire and very aroused, but less of a desire from just looking at their bodies (not saying none at all, my boyfriends body turns me on regularly, it’s just less of an immediate pull) i would say my body reacts more to women? I have some fear around the future and the unknown of my sexual identity because I haven’t explored with women, this makes the idea of marriage a bit daunting. (Not dread or doom, just a bit scary) But also the idea of being with my boyfriend forever feels beautiful when I’m not spiralling.
Having OCD I’ve spent hours researching and reading the late bloomers sub scared that they too had attraction for men once and once they accepted their attraction for women or started dating women they realised they were just gay. Can anyone help shed some light on this for me? I feel so much guilt about getting into spirals when I’ve got the most beautiful partner who I love.

2023.06.09 10:29 TheCoderboy543 Implementing dynamic component imports in Next.js for a page builder with a large component library

I'm currently developing a page builder using Next.js, and I'm facing a challenge regarding the efficient handling of a large component library. The library consists of let's say 150 different components that users can choose from to generate their desired pages.
In my current schema, I have defined a limited set of five components as an example:
const components = [ { id: 'header1', component:  }, { id: 'hero6', component:  }, { id: 'featured1', component:  }, { id: 'fun1', component:  }, { id: 'footer56', component:  } ];
I will display my page like this

const PageBuilder = () => { return (

{components.map((component) => (
{component.component}

))}
); };
However, I want to optimize the page builder's performance by dynamically importing only the necessary components based on a user's selected combination.
How can I achieve this dynamic import functionality in Next.js? I want to ensure that when a user selects a specific combination of components, only those components are imported, reducing unnecessary overhead and improving the page builder's speed. Additionally, if there are alternative approaches or best practices for handling large component libraries in a page builder, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or guidance.

2023.06.09 10:27 NeonGreenMist Friend of mine is having packaging issues. Package bought 2 years ago still hasn’t arrived.

He ordered Kyos birthday goods back 2 years ago in 2021 and he has now paid the email “epacket isn’t running switch to ems for a $15” fee 3 separate times now totaling $45 extra + the original $20 shipping fee, just to try and get it here after 2 yrs of waiting. We were wondering if this was normal, but the company won’t answer any of their emails and he’s afraid if he doesn’t keep paying these fees they are going to withhold the package or he might lose the package completely. I don’t mean to be rude but this is starting to worry me considering I bough Hex’s bday goods and a couple of days after I was already charged for the whole purchase I got some random few cent charges on my card from Nijisanji with no explanation after I already paid for the goods and shipping and they had taken that money. We are young adults in college with low paying service industry jobs we rarely get to buy stuff like this for ourselves so it’s really scary when we try to indulge a little on a big item/purchase and then stuff like this happens. It feels like your forced to just throw money you barely have at a problem until it’s fixed with no updates in the process hoping all this money and effort isn’t waisted. We feel kinda trapped and we’re hoping someone can shed some light on this situation or explain how this works to us? Again I’m not trying to be rude or hate we know shipping country to country is difficult but it’s been 2 years and 3 fees we are just kinda scared there’s going to be more fees we can’t afford and lose out on packages that cost us almost $100. We really just want an explanation or update or advice on what to do or how to proceed.

2023.06.09 10:24 SteveJobsIdiotCousin What’s w all the houses w no covered back patios? Alternatives?

It rains at least 1/3 of the time in this city. What gives w all the houses w bare ass back patios w no cover? Or arguably even worse, a pergola which to me seems pointless bc it provides no real shade and lets water through. I guess some people cover them?
Aside from the laughably shitty builds from 2019 onward (3 tab roofs, tiny lots and backyards, scam companies w shoddy worksmanship), in the rest of the market you’ll find no covered back patios, skinny ass 80s driveways where you have to play musical chairs w cars every time someone has to go somewhere, no gutters so you have to question the foundation, etc.
I just feel like complaining I guess. I’m pretty picky but it can’t be that hard to find something where a builder cared to create a cool experience. Maybe the No covered back patio shouldn’t be a deal breaker for me. If anyone knows financially efficient workarounds where I can spend a little cash to walk out and enjoy a rainy night or grill without getting soaked, I’m all ears. There’s just not many choices out there right now so I may have to go w no cover and improvise.

2023.06.09 10:23 aspiremarketer What is Not a Benefit of Google Analytics Remarketing

Google Analytics Remarketing is a powerful tool that enables advertisers to reach out to potential customers who have previously interacted with their website or mobile app. It provides a way to deliver personalized ads to these individuals as they browse other websites or use various online platforms. While Google Analytics Remarketing offers several benefits, it's essential to understand what it is not. In this article, we will explore the misconceptions and limitations surrounding Google Analytics Remarketing and shed light on what it truly offers.
1. Introduction
In the world of digital marketing, businesses are constantly seeking ways to maximize their advertising efforts and connect with their target audience more effectively. Google Analytics Remarketing emerges as a valuable solution, allowing advertisers to present tailored ads to potential customers who have already shown interest in their brand or products. By understanding the intricacies of Google Analytics Remarketing and what it can and cannot do, businesses can optimize their remarketing strategies and achieve better results.
2. What is Google Analytics Remarketing?
Google Analytics Remarketing is a feature within Google Ads that enables advertisers to create custom audiences and show them targeted ads across the Google Display Network. It utilizes a tracking code installed on the advertiser's website or mobile app to gather data about user behavior and interactions. This data is then used to create audience segments, allowing advertisers to deliver relevant ads to specific groups of users.
3. How Does Remarketing Work?
The process of Google Analytics Remarketing involves several steps:
User visits the advertiser's website or mobile app.
The tracking code collects data about the user's actions and behavior.
The user's data is stored in Google Analytics.
Advertiser creates audience segments based on specific criteria, such as pages visited, products viewed, or actions taken.
Advertiser creates remarketing campaigns in Google Ads, customizing the ad content and targeting options.
Users within the selected audience segments see the tailored ads while browsing other websites or using online platforms.
Advertiser monitors the campaign performance, makes adjustments if needed, and optimizes for better results.
4. Benefits of Google Analytics Remarketing
Google Analytics Remarketing offers several benefits for advertisers looking to increase their brand visibility, engagement, and conversions. Let's explore some of these benefits:
Increased Conversion Rates
Remarketing allows advertisers to re-engage with users who have already shown interest in their products or services. By presenting them with relevant ads, businesses have the opportunity to remind and persuade potential customers to complete a desired action, such as making a purchase or filling out a form. This targeted approach often leads to higher conversion rates compared to generic advertising.
Enhanced Ad Targeting
With Google Analytics Remarketing, advertisers can create custom audience segments based on various criteria. This level of granularity enables them to deliver highly targeted ads to specific groups of users. By tailoring the message to match the interests and preferences of each segment, advertisers can increase the relevance and effectiveness of their campaigns.
Improved ROI
Remarketing campaigns can offer an excellent return on investment (ROI) for businesses. Since the ads are displayed to users who have already engaged with the brand, the chances of generating valuable actions, such as purchases or sign-ups, are higher. By focusing on users who are more likely to convert, businesses can allocate their advertising budget more efficiently and achieve better ROI.
Increased Brand Awareness
By keeping their brand in front of potential customers, businesses can build and reinforce brand awareness through remarketing. Even if users don't immediately convert, seeing the brand's ads repeatedly can leave a lasting impression. When these users are ready to make a purchase or take the desired action, the brand is more likely to be top-of-mind, increasing the chances of conversion.
Cross-Device Remarketing
Google Analytics Remarketing enables advertisers to reach users across multiple devices. Whether users initially interacted with the brand on a desktop, smartphone, or tablet, remarketing campaigns can follow them as they switch between devices. This cross-device approach ensures consistent ad exposure and allows businesses to deliver a seamless experience to their audience.
5. What Google Analytics Remarketing Is Not
Despite its numerous benefits, it's important to clarify what Google Analytics Remarketing is not. Understanding these limitations can help businesses set realistic expectations and avoid common misconceptions.
6. Misconceptions about Google Analytics Remarketing
Remarketing is the same as retargeting
While the terms "remarketing" and "retargeting" are often used interchangeably, there are subtle differences between the two. Remarketing, as offered by Google Analytics, specifically refers to targeting users with ads across the Google Display Network based on their previous interactions with the advertiser's website or app. Retargeting, on the other hand, is a broader term that encompasses various methods of targeting users based on their previous interactions, including email marketing, social media advertising, and more.
Remarketing invades user privacy
Privacy concerns are a valid consideration in the digital advertising landscape. However, Google Analytics Remarketing does not invade user privacy. The tracking code installed on the advertiser's website or app collects anonymous data that does not personally identify individual users. Google's privacy policies ensure that user information is protected and used in compliance with applicable regulations.
Remarketing is only for e-commerce businesses
While e-commerce businesses can benefit greatly from remarketing, Google Analytics Remarketing is not limited to this industry. Any business with an online presence can leverage remarketing to engage with their target audience and achieve their marketing goals. From service providers to software companies, remarketing offers a versatile solution for businesses across various sectors.
7. Common Challenges with Google Analytics Remarketing
While Google Analytics Remarketing provides significant advantages, it also comes with its own set of challenges. Advertisers should be aware of these challenges and develop strategies to overcome them effectively.
Ad Fatigue
When users see the same ad repeatedly, they may experience ad fatigue. This can lead to a decrease in engagement and a lower likelihood of conversion. To combat ad fatigue, advertisers should create a variety of ad creatives and regularly refresh their content to keep it engaging and appealing.
Ad Frequency
Finding the right balance in ad frequency is crucial for remarketing success. Bombarding users with ads can be counterproductive and annoy the audience. Conversely, showing ads too infrequently may result in missed opportunities for engagement. Advertisers should carefully monitor ad frequency and adjust it based on user response and campaign objectives.
Audience Segmentation
Proper audience segmentation is essential for delivering relevant ads and maximizing the impact of remarketing campaigns. Advertisers should invest time in defining audience segments based on relevant criteria, such as user behavior, demographics, or interests. By tailoring the message to each segment's specific needs, advertisers can increase the effectiveness of their campaigns.
8. Best Practices for Effective Google Analytics Remarketing
To make the most of Google Analytics Remarketing, advertisers should follow these best practices:
Define Your Remarketing Goals
Before launching a remarketing campaign, it's crucial to define clear and measurable goals. Whether it's increasing conversions, boosting brand awareness, or driving website traffic, having specific objectives will guide the entire remarketing strategy.
Segment Your Audience
Segmenting your audience allows you to tailor your ads to specific user groups. Utilize the rich data collected by Google Analytics to create segments based on user behavior, demographics, or interests. By showing highly targeted ads to each segment, you can improve engagement and conversions.
Create Engaging Ad Content
Craft compelling ad content that grabs users' attention and entices them to take action. Experiment with different ad formats, visuals, and ad copies to find what resonates best with your audience. Use persuasive language, highlight unique selling points, and include clear calls to action to drive user engagement.
Test and Optimize Your Campaigns
Continuous testing and optimization are crucial for remarketing success. Experiment with different ad variations, targeting options, and bidding strategies to identify what works best for your audience. Monitor key metrics, such as click-through rates, conversion rates, and return on ad spend, and make data-driven adjustments to improve campaign performance.
Monitor and Adjust
Regularly monitor your remarketing campaigns to identify any issues or opportunities for improvement. Stay updated with the performance metrics, audience insights, and industry trends. Based on the data collected, make necessary adjustments to your campaign settings, targeting options, or ad creatives to maximize results.
9. Conclusion
Google Analytics Remarketing is a powerful tool for advertisers to re-engage with their website or app visitors and drive conversions. By leveraging the benefits of remarketing, businesses can increase conversion rates, enhance ad targeting, improve ROI, and raise brand awareness. However, it's crucial to understand what remarketing is not, dispelling misconceptions and addressing common challenges. By following best practices and optimizing campaigns, businesses can harness the full potential of Google Analytics Remarketing and achieve their marketing goals.
10. FAQs

Q: How long does it take for Google Analytics Remarketing to start working?
A: The time it takes for Google Analytics Remarketing to start working depends on various factors, including the volume of website or app traffic and the specific audience segments created. Q: Can I use Google Analytics Remarketing with other advertising platforms?
A: While Google Analytics Remarketing is primarily designed for use with Google Ads and the Google Display Network, it is possible to export remarketing lists to other advertising platforms that support similar functionality. This allows advertisers to extend their remarketing efforts beyond Google's ecosystem.
Q: What are the alternatives to Google Analytics Remarketing?
A: While Google Analytics Remarketing is a popular and robust solution, there are alternative remarketing platforms available. Some notable alternatives include Facebook Pixel for remarketing on Facebook and Instagram, LinkedIn's Matched Audiences for B2B targeting, and Twitter Ads remarketing for reaching audiences on Twitter. Advertisers should consider their specific needs and target audience when selecting the most suitable platform for their remarketing efforts.

2023.06.09 10:20 i-am-not-a-giraffe Wait times for surgery on the NHS?

Just looking for any advice I can get on how long I might be waiting as the hospital haven't been in communication for a few weeks. I've had a once sided polyp since January this year, went to the GP only to be given nasal drops and told it would probably go away on it's own. The polyp grew rapidly over the next few weeks and I now have a huge polyp taking up most of my right nostril. Finally got to see an ENT in April who sent me for a CT scan and placed me on the urgent waiting list for surgery. I thought 'urgent' would mean I'd have a surgery date quite quickly after the scan but now in June I'm still waiting and all I've been told is that the surgeon 'thinks I'll be dated in July'.
I don't know if I'm just being naive thinking it would happen quicker or if this is normal, but I'm just so fed up with this! I can't take the congestion anymore, it takes ages to fall asleep at night cause it gets worse and I can't breathe through my nose at all, and I keep getting heavy nose bleeds. I'm considering phoning the hospital again to stress how uncomfortable this is but I'm worried that might be a bit dramatic. I don't have any experience with medical issues, or hospital wait times till now so any advice is appreciated!

2023.06.09 10:19 commercialprojects12 The Advantages of Low Rise Flats in Gurgaon

There are many advantages of living in low rise flats in Gurgaon. Some of the advantages include:
  1. Low rise flats are usually more affordable than high rise flats. This is because the construction costs are lower and the land required is less.
  2. Low rise flats tend to have more green space and better views. This is because they are built on lower levels and there is less construction around them.
  3. Low rise flats are usually more quiet and peaceful. This is because they are away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
  4. Low rise flats tend to have better security. This is because they are usually gated communities with security guards.
  5. Low rise flats are easier to escape from in case of an emergency. This is because they have lower floors and there are fewer people living in them.

The Disadvantages of Low Rise Flats in Gurgaon

When it comes to residential property options in Gurgaon, low rise flats are not the most popular choice. There are several reasons for this, which we will explore in this blog post.
One of the biggest disadvantages of low rise flats is that they are often located in less desirable areas. This is because they are usually built on land that is not suitable for high-rise construction. This means that they are often located further away from the city centre and other amenities.
Another disadvantage of low rise flats is that they tend to be less well-built than high-rise flats. This is because they are not subject to the same strict building regulations. This means that they are more likely to experience problems such as damp and mould.
Finally, low rise flats tend to be less energy-efficient than high-rise flats. This is because they are not built to the same high standards of insulation. This means that they are more likely to experience higher energy bills.

The Future of Low Rise Flats in Gurgaon

The future of low rise flats in Gurgaon looks promising. With the increasing population and the demand for housing, these types of flats are likely to become more popular in the future. There are several reasons for this.
First, low rise flats are more affordable than high rise flats. This is because they require less construction material and labor. As a result, they are cheaper to build and sell.
Second, low rise flats are more energy efficient. This is because they have less surface area exposed to the sun. As a result, they require less energy to cool and heat.
Third, low rise flats are more environmentally friendly. This is because they have a smaller footprint and use less construction materials.
Fourth, low rise flats offer a better quality of life. This is because they are closer to the ground and offer more privacy.

It’s been 6 weeks since my ex ended things with me saying she didn’t see a future (after talking forever a few days beforehand) A few days ago I added a new profile picture with a female friends hair visible in the picture and my ex messaged me angrily telling me to come get the rest of the stuff from her shed.

2023.06.09 10:18 throwaway12309889032 Potential Divorce - Wife Renting

Hi, Using a throwaway account. Also, I understand I need to speak with a solicitor however can't until the week after next for various reasons, hence just wanting a bit of information if possible.
My wife has out of the blue announced she wants to split. We have no children but have a house which is nearly paid off. We both earn broadly similar salaries and have broadly similar individual savings. We've not started the divorce procedure yet but are effectively "separated" but living under the same roof. We're in England.
Her plan is to move into a rented property in the near future whilst we go through proceedings. However as we're both named on the current mortgage she will obviously need to continue her contribution to that (I'll be living in the house).
The thing I'm concerned about is that she's looking at rental in a reasonably expensive area, and there's no way she can afford it whilst paying her share of the mortgage here. Which means until we're settled, she'll be paying it out of her savings. Let's say that is costing her £1000 a month, if the divorce takes say 6-8 months to go through, she's going to have effectively been spending 6-8k of her savings on that - and as we have similar levels of savings now, she'd potentially be entitled to half the difference of mine, i.e. 3-4k? She's also talking about going on holiday too with friends, which again will be from savings.
I know there are rules about trying to "hide" money in these situations to avoid a fair split, but are there any rules about just spending the money on non-tangible stuff like this? I am not looking to screw her over but similarly don't want that to be done to me.

2023.06.09 10:17 Ill-Purchase-5180 Is next.js a ploy to increase cloud costs?

I tried nextjs for the first time and feels like a significant downgrade for the end user. Instead of the snappy SPA experience, you get a site that feels like it was made with 20 year old PHP technologies. The main selling point of next is SSR and SEO and let's be honest, the vast majority of react apps are complex apps with custom functionalities that don't really care about SEO because they are not eshops etc. If somebody's wants to build an eshop or a presentation site he won't touch react or next, he will just use WordPress or a similar site builder (45% of the websites out there are made with wordpress). Why is SSR being shoved down our throats so aggressively, even nextjs being the official way to create react apps from now on according to the new react documentation when it is a clear downgrade? I get it being there just in case somebody needs a complex app with SEO but telling me that SSR is the way to move forward sounds like bullshit to me and an excuse to increase cloud server computing costs (don't forget it was made by vercel)

2023.06.09 10:16 JaymesKaat Advice please!

Background:
My puppy is named Tikaani, she's 4 months old and I've had her for two months. Shes a rescue husky mix (maybe some German shepherd?) And very clever.
She's been good about her potty training for a little over a month, only one accident that was entirely my fault for forgetting to turn my alarm back on. Previously accidents were dealt with with a stern no, brief kenneling while I cleaned up, and nothing else. She still gets treats every time she goes potty outside to cement the idea that outside potty is good.
I have the kitchen/dining room baby gated off because she's a trash gremlin and will attempt to tip the bin. She does not like it much when I am behind the baby gate, even when I'm standing right in front of her and leaning over it to pet her anyway. She often does 'no' behaviors when I am behind the baby gate which I'm assuming is a 'bad attention is better than no attention' thing? I'm trying to head this off using snack distractions and crate training.
Anyway, I usually eat behind the baby gate to keep her from ingesting people food that is bad for her. Before getting Tikaani I would usually eat in the living room.
Current issue:
I decided to try eating in the living room again. I thought maybe she'd like it better that I was with her instead of behind the baby gate, and also she should start getting used to people eating around her without getting anything herself because that happens in life.
The first time was lunch, I feed Tikaani about half an hour before I eat so our eating times are completely separated in her brain. Before I feed her, I take her outside to pee and she does. She drink a little bit of water when she comes back inside. Feeding takes fifteen minutes because I throw her food all over the room for her to chase and sniff out because it uses up some of her wild energy and slows her eating and she loves it. After I take her out again, she pees again.
I spend fifteen more minutes making my own lunch while distracting Tikaani with small bouts of training. When I have my food I decide to sit in a chair and put my plate on the ottoman. She's been really good about leave it, so I was pretty confident this would be fine, and for the most part it was. She didn't seem to like that I was eating, she barked angrily at my food and I had to resort to saying no and nudging her away from the ottoman until she understood that she was not supposed to get too close to my food.
About halfway through eating, she huffs (which she seems to do when she's frustrated or mad at me for something) and walks across the room, jumps on the couch, and pees on two throw pillows and the couch cushion while looking directly at me.
Obviously I shoot up and start no-ing as soon as I realize, but it's already done so I just sigh and kennel her so I can clean up.
(Side note: she also hates when I clean. It doesn't matter if it's vacuuming, sweeping, wiping up a spill with a paper towel, she despises it. She sees me using any of these things, she screams. I've introduced each of the things to her and she's fine with them when they're not being used (even the vacuum when it's on). So that's baffling to me.)
I crate her for dinner and later, after I kennel her for the night, I do an extra bit of cleaning for the couch just to make extra sure it's not gonna be a problem.
The next day I decide to try again for breakfast. Almost the same song and dance, she drinks a little water, I take her out to pee, she does, I bring her in, feed her, take her back out to poop, she does and also pees a little, bring her back in. I spend fifteen minutes making brakfast and this time, I sit on the couch to eat. To be clear, she has not had any more water since the first step. She barks angrily at my food, I gently nudge her away from it with no's and leave-it's. Halfway through she huffs, jumps up on the couch right next to me (approximately same place as last time, but thoroughly and enzymatically cleaned), and pees while staring me in the face.
So now I'm at a loss. Why exactly is she doing this? Logically I know that protest peeing isn't a thing, but damn if it doesn't feel like she's protesting me eating in front of her without sharing 😅😅
Anyway, can anyone give me ideas on why she might actually be doing this?

2023.06.09 10:13 Wayfarerdarer I Used To Be That Guy....

You know the type. The untrained guy who looked at martial arts lightly and that it wasn't that much of a big deal and that the people in it were just wearing fancy pajamas shouting hi-yah and that it wasn't that intimidating. The kind of guy that said, "I don't need training or fancy moves. I lift weights and have a stocky build, I'm strong. Once I see red, it's over" 😂
Yeah I know, what an arrogant and ignorant perception I used to have! Needless to say I dated a girl once who was a yellow-belt in Taekwondo and back when I was a total ass, underestimating martial arts, I used to tease her in a playful way and one day I cockily told her I bet I could catch her kicks 🤦🏻‍♂️
She obliged me and her warrior face turned on in an instant and I could see that this time, she wasn't playing around. I think she'd had enough of my teasing. She feinted with one of her legs (I didn't even know what feinting was back then) and I looked up at her instead of keeping my eyes on her feet and that's when she nailed me with a solid side kick right into my exposed gut. I felt the air rush out of my lungs as I bent over from the kick and realized I was in a vulnerable position. I locked up in complete astonishment and she was totally cool, calm and collected, not even breaking a sweat.
She then said, "Or I could do this" and she jumped into the air and twirled around landing a round house with her shin right across my chest (luckily she dialed back for my sake) and it stung like hell!
I put my hands up afterwards to signify that I'd had enough and that I got it. I never underestimated her or martial arts again after that. Lessons learnt
Fast forward a little over a decade later and I've now started training taekwondo myself in remembrance of the girl I dated with a much more mature and respectful mind-set towards martial arts and its practitioners. I've learnt that martial arts is a very technical and scientific approach to fighting and that it's way more intelligent and rational than street-fighting and thinking that I could fight because of my strength and build etc was just foolish and wishful thinking.
I was humbled back then and continue to be. "Pajamas" or not, the human body is still solid and it can deal damage if one knows how to utilise it like a weapon effectively. I've also learnt that martial arts is about much more than just fighting. It's a mind-set, a discipline and way of life. Its benefits transcend physical gains. Grateful to have mustered the courage to try it for myself and see what this world was all about instead of assuming through ignorance. Now I've fallen in love with it and see what it can do for me and the people around me.
Have you come across the type of guy I used to be? I bet it was annoying right? You ever have to humble a jack-ass too? Oy vey, I was young and dumb 🤣

2023.06.09 10:12 Mediocre_Camel8620 Urban Exploration Game

Hello, everybody! This message is addressed to all those passionate about the history of the Jewish community in Eastern Europe (Bucharest, Romania in particular) and to those who want to find out more about the vibrant cultural heritage the Jews left here. :) I created an urban exploration game on the Questo platform called "Jewish Bucharest: The Hidden Legacy". The game consists of discovering clues and solving puzzles in more or less known places in Bucharest related to important Jewish personalities: architects, philanthropists or religious leaders. I have tried to shed light on many stories and details that are less known but worth discovering and that is why I would be very happy to make the game as popular as possible. :) If you want to visit Bucharest or know someone from Bucharest interested in such activities, I added the game's link below. (You need to be physically in Bucharest to play it) The game costs 5.99 euro available to anyone who downloads the Questo app. Thank you very much and have a nice day! P.S. I don't know the rules of this group very well. I hope this doesn't get me banned for advertising because I don't expect to make too much money from this game. This is just a side project/ hobby I am passionate about. :)

2023.06.09 10:01 shootingstar1117 Slowly feeling that I deserve to d-word

I don't know if it's wrong to ask someone to accompany you when they've been a close friend and like you've hang out/gala/kain multiple times. It's just that when I am the one to message our gc, it seems like the mood becomes dull/off and people get uninsterested with whatever the message is since it came from me. I don't know why, maybe because it is very, very strict in my fam that I am just allowed a handful of times to go out to hang/gala and even have spontaneous trips. I still need to ask permission even if I am near 25 years old. Also, the pandemic happened and it's really hard to go out a lot when each time a relative or someone I know gets covid. With this situation, I can't go, even if I wanted to, to spontaneous kain/road trip with my friends.
Is it because I was not able to bond with them more and join them sa gala/kainan that they don't think of me as a friend now? They're not even reacting on my posts now, I now this sound a bit immature.
Another maybe, maybe I am at grave fault for still being too shy even if we (with my friends) have been through lots of ganaps/occassions already that I am still timid to ask them how they are or what they are doing. I do not check up on them. But the thing is, no one checks up on me either. I really hate my situation so much. It feels like I am not worthy to live anymore. Like if I d-word, no one will f*ckin care. No one will shed a tear, maybe only my family. But yeah, thr point is the feeling of not wanting to live anymore slowly creeps in, inside my thoughts. Maybe if I try to s-word and eventually d-word, I won't have to suffer from the situation where I have no friends, I have no one to tell my secrets and frustrations to, I have no one to ask for advice with my problems, I have no one I can count on. I don't know if I'll get better or I'll get worse. I just want to stop feeling unwanted, boring, and worthless.

2023.06.09 10:00 Creative-Tomatillo49 Error when trying to create campaign with API and using existing template.

I'm trying to create a campaign using a specific template id. I'm using API 3. I've created the template in the classic builder but when I try to create the campaign using the template I get this error " Fatal error: Uncaught GuzzleHttp\Exception\ClientException: Client error: `POST https://us21.api.mailchimp.com/3.0/campaigns\` resulted in a `400 Bad Request` response: {"type":"https://mailchimp.com/developemarketing/docs/errors/","title":"Invalid Resource","status":400,"detail":"The r (truncated...) in " This is the code I'm using: $response = $mailchimp->campaigns->create([ 'type' => 'regular', 'recipients' => [ "list_id" => $mailchimp_list_id, ],
'settings' => [ 'subject_line' => 'Campaign test '.date("H:i"), 'from_name' => $fromname, 'reply_to' => $replyto, 'template_id' => $templateId ]
]);
If i don't add the template_id in the settings part it creates the campaign without errors. What am I doing wrong?
