Welcome to the subreddit dedicated to the artist Burial. Releasing records under the pseudonym "Burial," William Bevan comes from South London in England, and is one of dubstep's most enigmatic artists. With home made chopped up beats, swooshing synths, and haunting modified vocals lifted from an eclectic range of pop songs, he brings his listeners back to a time when hardcore, d'n'b, 2step, and house music dominated the London underground club/rave scene.

2023.03.21 01:39 failedhuman404 I cant take it any more!

I'm so overwhelmed with everything in my life. I dont know how to get out of this mess that I'm in. It may not seem like a mess to most people, but im so close to my breaking point. At work, I have a manager that just won't do shit and has me do everything for them and just has that I don't give a shit attitude about everything. It's such a laid back job, but there are things that have to be done and he just doesn't do them. And I know as soon as I stop doing them he will say something to the upper management saying that I don't do anything. he gets praised and he says hes the one that does the things that i do. Doesn't even mention that I do all the things that help keep the buisness running. Last few times I have gone to upper management about issues at work, I ended up getting fired, so I would rather not lose my job and deal with the bullshit.
Now, the shit I deal with at home. I'm so underappreciated with anything I do. My family doesn't like to clean up after themselves, which in turn makes me want to just leave shit around too. But I try my damn hardest to keep my area picked up and cleaned at least every other day they wonder why I shut myself off from the rest of them. They are so damn lazy that they won't clean up the dog hair off the bathroom floor. Have shit all over the bathroom counter. Leave empty soda bottles everywhere. Dishes pile in the sink. And when I do clean it all up and make it look nice, it will go back to the way it was a day after and not say a damn word. The people left in this house are fully capable of cleaning and picking up after themselves but don't. I get woken up way earlier than I want to because they slam the doors when they come home and or go to work or whatever the fuck they are doing. I can't stand living here but I dont have the money to afford to live on my own. The car I have is one pot hole from breaking in half, I have had the same 4 outfits for multiple years, I just dont know how to get ahead in life.
I'm just so tired of people making me feel like ahit and not doing their part. I feel like I have to do extra at work or I'm gonna get fired. I feel like I have to spend to every thing at home because if I don't, this would be a hazardous place to live and eat. I get no thank yous at all for helping or anything. I just dont know what to do anymore. I'm tired of feeling like this, tired of being underappreciated. Tired of feeling like I'm in chains day in and day out..

2023.03.21 01:38 steph2992 Housing - would love to learn from the community.

Hi All! I have a dream of living in a multifamily property with my friends and polycule community and I feel like every time I meet new poly folx, I find at least a few people who have a similar dream. I also have heard some friends having less than stellar experiences navigating the housing market as polyamorous people.
Our housing system is not functioning well, that is pretty clear and I believe that we need to make some really radical shifts if we want to get out of the ongoing cycles of crises.
So I got my real estate license and I’m limiting my commission to a living wage so that instead of extracting resources and hoarding wealth generated from an already malfunctioning system, I can harness the abundance of resources to make my community better.
Im finding a lot of people like me who want to have a more nontraditional relationship with homeownership and I want to help them. I have yet to buy property with a polycule and while I have read about community building, I want to be able to help myself and my community navigate the polyam home buying process with confidence.
So I’m curious, what challenges have you faced in home ownership or cohabitation and what resources, mindsets, advice can you share? Have you had any positive or negative experiences we can learn from?
I’ll share one resource I already know of - a book called “Creating a Life Together” by Diana Leafe Christian
Thank you!

2023.03.21 01:38 HushRabbit Scream[1996]F4M/ApM Billy Loomis or Stu Macher

A couple of friends and I decided to go see Scream in theaters this weekend. No spoilers here, though, folks! OH boy did it leave shocked and looking for nostalgia; Went home and binged from the Original to the third movie, as ✨️sleep✨️ came for our souls.
Whilst watching the original one, I forgot how much I liked the legacy boys, how they jumpstarted my love for horror. It was a whole nostalgia trip.
This is oc(ME) x Canon(YOU).
NO Doubles; THIS IS NOT NEGOTIABLE. I do NOT rp as Canons and will NOT. Sorry for being so picky, but past experiences have completely ruined me.
Anyway, today I come in search of someone who can play as Stu Macher or Billy Loomis. Either will be shipped with my oc(or both if you're that risky-)! I'm not picky over which one, so whoever you can rp as Is ok(i do have a soft spot for Stu, not gonna lie.)! As for plot? I'm down to make one as I don't really have one fleshed out. I've got some points but nothing to form a major plot point or plot. Ya know?
Message if interested. Tank you, have a good day

2023.03.21 01:38 Laubsterstar Need roof repaired or insurance will cancel

We just bought out first home. Our insurance broker predicted that our insurance may be denied by Allstate because the old roof, but if that happened we could go without another, more expensive policy until we could have the roof repaired.
Allstate did cancel our insurance, but so did the next policy. I’m still working with the broker on how we proceed before our cancellation in one month.
The thing is both insurance companies only denied because of one corner of the roof (pictured here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dPnJ8-vjm6L-GB_XVXorSI1KDlWdIzz8/view?usp=drivesdk)
Can I have the roof repaired in just that section or should I have the whole roof replaced since we’ll need to eventually as it is old. Since we just bought we house we’re worried about the increased costs and weren’t expecting this right away.

2023.03.21 01:38 ryanonreddit942 [HELP] Is water-damaged screen repairable?

Looking for other opinions or experiences relating to my situation.
My iPhone 12 Pro Max was splashed on the bottom from a hot tub. The battery died and when I plugged it in, it turned on before saying "Liquid Detected" in the charging port. I was stupid and pressed override. The phone later stopped responding to touch on the bottom of the screen. Swipe up to go home and the space bar on the keyboard do not work. I am able to use the space bar by pressing hard and multiple times.
There is no visible damage to the screen and the phone has no cracks. It has only been opened by the Apple Store for a new camera, and I assume it has a genuine seal.
I know Apple won't touch water-damaged phones, but the phone was not submerged and I am not sure if water actually got inside. I am hoping that charging with liquid in the port only caused a short circuit with the screen. The touch problem has not worsened in the days since.
Do you think a new screen will fix my issue? I'm thinking I'll go to UBreakIFix.

2023.03.21 01:38 blackdahiliacat92 Hard day. Triggers galore at my parents house. Have to make it through 4 more days here.

TW: chronic pain, parent issues, alcoholic parent, panic attacks, ptsd, in crisis
I posted in here at the beginning of the month, please feel free to reference that post for more context of where I was mentally before I left for Texas on March 10th (I have lived in Portland, OR for 5 years and this was my first trip back to see my parents since COVID because I am physically disabled).
This trip has had lots of highs and lows. I got to see some of my best friends in the whole world and they accommodated my covid/flu safety restrictions. And I’ve been able to see my Dad, who is my rock.
But after attending a funeral and associated events the first 3 days I was here, I was wiped. Then I hit my wall of what I call “mom bullshit” on Friday when she asked me to lie to my Dad about the cat peeing on something. This may seem small, but this triggered me a lot bc she used to do this when I was a kid and she would drink too much and ask me to lie to my Dad. I didn’t realize it upset me so much until it sent me into a fibromyalgia flare and into complete sensory/emotional overwhelm and overstimulation. I have slowly been able to get my pain under control; but only by laying in darkness under my weighted blanket in complete silence.
Traveling in itself is so hard for me and often flares my pain and sensory issues because I’m sleeping in a different bed, sitting in uncomfortable chairs (even with my travel seat cushion I use) and I generally do not like to leave my apartment much when I am home in Portland because that’s my sanctuary.
I guess I’m here for some solidarity and reassurance that others can relate and can help remind me that I can make it through the next few days. I have been taking all of my anxiety meds, my sleep meds, melatonin, doing my CBT and DBT work and none of it has helped.
It’s like I’m in such a state of overwhelm and pain that medications don’t work in my system anymore.
Has this happened to anyone? I have CPTSD and I know what hypervigilance feels like, but this has been next level. I also truly think this is how I felt for years growing up and just thought it was normal.
But I haven’t felt this in years, perhaps because there’s been 2100 miles of space between me and my mom.
I talked to two separate crisis lines today because I didn’t know what to do. They didn’t help much sadly. I expressed how I felt to my parents yesterday and they told me to smile more and exercise more (even though I’ve lost 40lbs safely in the last year after gaining that weight after a major thoracic surgery).
I KNOW my parents love and accept me and tell me that I could never disappoint them. But…it feels like they don’t understand that I don’t MEAN to not smile or be overwhelmed.
I was diagnosed with ADHD & ASD last year. And ironically, subsequently found out my mom has ADHD and my dad has ASD.
So my Dad (my rock) is very blunt and matter of fact and he doesn’t get overwhelmed EVER. He doesn’t always understand how we can both have ASD;, but be so different. He is a sensory seeker and I extremely sensory sensitive.
Idk if this makes sense, but last time I need support, this sub was a life saver.

Calm Down: Simple Techniques for Reducing Stress and Finding ... (beautyaal.com)
Are you feeling overwhelmed and stressed out? You’re not alone. Stress is a common problem in today’s society, with an estimated 74% of adults in the US reporting they felt moderate to high levels of stress within the past month. Unfortunately, if left unchecked, this can lead to physical health problems as well as mental ones. But there are steps we can all take to reduce our stress levels and live happier healthier lives. In this article, we’ll explore how reducing stress can improve your life and suggest some practical tips for achieving it. So let’s get started!

Ways To Identify Stress
What are the signs of stress and how can you identify them? In our lives, we all experience different levels of stress. It’s important to be able to recognize when it is becoming too much so that it doesn’t affect your mental or physical health in a negative way. Stress can manifest itself in various ways like irritability, headaches, feeling overwhelmed, difficulty sleeping, and feelings of depression or anxiety.

It’s also common for people under high amounts of stress to have trouble focusing on tasks, lose their appetite or overeat as a coping mechanism, feel tired yet unable to sleep due to racing thoughts and withdraw from social situations. If any of these symptoms sound familiar then it may be time to start looking into strategies for reducing stress.

Identifying what triggers your stress is an important first step toward managing it better. Keeping track of how stressful experiences make you feel can help you understand yourself better and spot patterns in your moods and behaviors so that you can take action before things become unmanageable. Once you know what has been causing the most distress in your life lately, then you will be better prepared to work on addressing those issues head-on. Moving forward with this knowledge allows for more effective strategies for relieving tension and creating healthier habits moving forward.

Strategies For Reducing Stress
The old adage “A stitch in time saves nine” couldn’t be more true when it comes to managing stress. It is important to take the necessary steps needed for reducing and avoiding stress in our lives. There are several strategies that can help us do this, such as focusing on thoughts and behaviors that reduce stress, practicing relaxation techniques, exercising regularly, eating a balanced diet, getting enough sleep, making time for hobbies or activities you enjoy, seeking professional help if needed, and spending quality time with family and friends.

By taking these proactive measures we can identify sources of stress and then work towards finding ways to manage them effectively. This could mean restructuring your day-to-day schedule or changing certain habits or lifestyle choices. Additionally, setting realistic goals helps us stay focused while also preventing us from feeling overwhelmed by too much pressure or unrealistic expectations set upon ourselves.

Taking control of our emotions is key to maintaining balance in life; not just for our physical well-being but also for mental health purposes. Stress management doesn’t have to be complicated – small adjustments over time can make all the difference! With consistency and determination, we can learn how to better cope with difficult situations that arise without letting them become overwhelming. Transitioning into the next section about the benefits of stress management will further highlight why it’s so important to invest in oneself by implementing healthy coping mechanisms.

Benefits Of Stress Management
Stress management can be like a breath of fresh air for those feeling overwhelmed by their daily lives. It’s not just about calming down, but also recognizing and addressing the underlying causes of our stress. Taking time to reflect on why we’re anxious or depressed can help us better understand ourselves and make positive changes in our life. Here are some key benefits of regular stress management:

Improved emotional well-being – Stress management helps us maintain a balance between work, home, social activities, and rest. Through mindfulness strategies such as breathing exercises and yoga, we can reduce feelings of anger or sadness that may have been previously restricting us from living a full life.
Enhanced mental clarity – As we focus more on ourselves and learn how to manage our emotions healthily, it allows us to think clearly without being clouded by negative thoughts or worries. We can then use this newfound clarity to take actionable steps toward achieving goals or solving problems in our lives with greater ease than before.
Increased resilience – Through stress management practices, we will become less sensitive toward external events which might otherwise cause anxiety or distress. By building up psychological strength over time, we’ll find it easier to accept what cannot be changed and recalibrate accordingly when faced with challenges ahead of us.
The practice of managing stress is an essential part of self-care that should not be overlooked– whether you are faced with minor annoyances or major setbacks in your life, having strong coping mechanisms gives you the power to tackle anything that comes your way head-on!

Conclusion
It’s important to identify stress and learn how to manage it. By understanding the signs of stress, we can begin implementing strategies for reducing it in our lives. Stress management has so many wonderful benefits; not only will you feel calmer and more relaxed, but you’ll also be able to experience life with a renewed sense of joy that was unimaginable before! It really is like opening up an entirely new world! As someone who knows what it’s like to live with unmanaged stress, I’m telling you: taking steps towards reducing your stress is one of the best decisions you’ll ever make. You won’t believe how quickly your mindset will shift when you start living with less worry and fear – it feels like a million pounds have been lifted off my shoulders! Are you feeling overwhelmed and stressed out? 2023.03.21 01:37 ratgarcon I’ve been below male range for months now.

I switched to patches in June. 8mg. I had my dosage lowered soon after to 4 mg because of my doctor deciding my bleeding was because of my dose. (Which it turned out it wasn’t)
I switched to an endo. She immediately upped my dosage back to 8mg. This was back in December. When I got my blood work in December,my t level was barely above 100.
I just saw her again. My levels are below 100.
Patches must not have been absorbing properly. I’m devastated. I’m almost two years on t and my levels have been low for half a year.
Patches got discontinued so I’ve been on gel for a little over a week now. I messaged my endo asking if I can have my next appointment pushed to may to see if gel is absorbing properly.
I’m so upset. I had to switch from shots because I got my shots in office and had no transportation. I might have to switch back to shots, and idk what I’m gonna do.
I can’t afford bus fare, and I have no data, so if I try and use the bus I’ll be fucked if a bus doesn’t come or I get there too late. I’d have to walk back home to where I have wifi just to figure out the next bus.
I feel so fucking awful. I hate this.

2023.03.21 01:37 yolpa20 Music for psilocybin session

Does anyone have any good music suggestions for "at home therapy" sessions? I am someone who has been experimenting at home for some years now. I do a self healing "trip" alone once every 6 months. I've done McKenna's blindfolded in a dark room couple times and after that started doing eyes open on my couch. But looking to bring back the blindfold and some music.
I take it quite seriously, with planning ahead for few weeks. Writing things down to set the intention, setting up the environment and a post-session ritual. But the one thing I feel like I am missing is some good neutral music on the background.
For reference, this is the playlist I used when I was experimenting with Ketamine, looking for something similar, just some background music without lyrics. https://on.soundcloud.com/EXwMR

2023.03.21 01:37 DaddysKitten1635 I'm angry

I'm so sorry for any formatting problems, I'm on mobile. This will be long, but there is a TL;DR at the end.
I (27f) am so angry. It has completely taken over my body and I don't know how to feel anything else. I'm dying, and all I can do is watch what's left of my life pass me by.
I grew up in a very abusive household, and I gave up my childhood to protect my siblings the best I could because my two older brothers died at a young age. I've been a mother since I was very young, and I have never regretted it. The abuse was physical, emotional, sexual, and spiritual. I survived. I fought like hell and I survived.
In high school I was abandoned by my addict mother was homeless with my siblings in my car for a while. I had a job outside of school to go to truck stops to pay for showers for my kids. It was hard, but they were taken care of. After years of struggling and no help, we finally got a stable place. My siblings became successful in their own right, and I finally found a reason to live. To watch them live theirs. I found a husband, and 6 years later, I had a child.
Me and my child almost died during childbirth, and my child died at 4 days old due to a seizure. I wasn't there because I was fighting for my life in a separate hospital, but they brought my child back and we are all a happy family now. I had finally found peace in everything that's happened, and for years we have lived in bliss.
My world shattered when the doctor told me that I was dying. They found it late, about two years too late, and I may have a few years left at best. I fought so hard to get out of the hellhole of abuse with my siblings, and now that I've actually found happiness and stability, something I never thought I'd have, I can't even enjoy it.
It's not fair.
What was all of this for? Why did I fight so hard to be happy when all it was going to get me was a husband and child that had to live without me. I won't get to see my baby grow up, or grow old with the love of my life. I'm so bitter. I've cried for weeks in the shower and begged the Christian God that I don't believe in for answers but of course all I have is nothing. How am I supposed to take this? What do I do now? Any advise would be great, because I am at a loss.
TL;DR: came from an abusive home, finally found happiness at 27 and now I'm dying.

2023.03.21 01:36 Unlucky_Pudding9598 AITA for taking an old car on a test drive and making my friends miss their train?

For the past several years, my wife and I have taken our friends (we'll call them Scott and Patty) to the train station in March, so that they can travel south to enjoy some warmer weather. Usually, after dropping them off at the station, my wife and I spend a day in the city doing touristy things. Well, this year wasn't any different. Scott called me up and asked if we could take Patty and him to the train station. I said we would love to, but I didn't reveal a special surprise I had been planning. For over a year, I had been restoring a 1965 Ford Mustang, and it would be ready just in time for Scott and Patty's trip. I figured that I would take it out for a little test drive to the train station and impress everyone. I was sure that Scott and Patty would also appreciate riding in style.
The day finally came to take them to the train station, and I started the car to let it warm up while my wife was getting ready. It started a little rough and seemed to be a bit smoky, but I figured that all old cars have their quirks, and I didn't think too much of it. My wife came outside and looked very surprised. She asked if I was sure the car was ready, and I told her of course it was. My wife has underestimated me many times, and it's never felt particularly good, but I was determined not to let her belittling, condescending remarks ruin my mood. Long story short, we drove to Scott and Patty's house without incident, got all the luggage loaded, and started driving to the train station. Scott sat up front with me, and our wives sat in the rear. He seemed very taken with the car, which made me feel good, but I knew that I could do even better. I wanted to demonstrate what the car was capable of, so I slowed down below the speed limit in the slow lane and then accelerated hard. I thought that I would get some applause, but instead Patty and my wife instead expressed concern. I looked in the rear-view mirror, and the car had belched out a giant cloud of smoke. Even worse, my dashboard was lit up like a Christmas tree, and the car shuddered to a halt on the shoulder of the interstate.
Panicked, I tried to restart the car, but the engine was clearly seized. There was no way our friends would make it in time, and Scott's friend was 45 minutes away. I had left my phone at home and was unable to make any calls. Scott and Patty were very cold to me after that incident, and even though I apologized to them, they seemed to think it was my fault. I view what happened to be a freak accident that nobody could have anticipated, and I don't think it's fair for them to hold a grudge, especially after all these years of friendship. My wife says that I need to apologize, but I think that I'm the victim and that they should apologize to me for their hostile behavior. I want my friends back, but I don't want to be a complete doormat. AITA?

So my partner and I went away last Wednesday (we normally bring our dog with us but this time we couldn't) and then on Saturday morning we got a phone call from our friend who was looking after our dog Ollie at the time he was having muscle convolutions and seizures and they rushed him to the vet I met them there shorty after. The vets did some blood tests gave him fluids and shots for the muscles and were trying to get his tempture down.
They ruled out snake and spider bites, and said that he ate something toxic, they suspected snail bait but we don't have snail bait or anything toxic in our yard that he could of ate, he also doesn't eat mice or rats so we don't suspect that he could of been second hand baited. We also didn't take him out of the yard for a walk prior to leaving because of the recent dog attacks in town. Unfortunately his condition was too far gone and we had to make the hard decision to put him down. When we got home we walked all around the yard and found nothing that he could of eaten to make him so sick.
So my question is what do you think he ate that could of caused this? My partner thinks that someone might of poisoned him while we were away but It is very hard for me to believe that happened..

2023.03.21 01:35 accidentallyhappied Going to be a new owner, need advice.

Hi everyone.
I'm going to be fostering an African Grey, as his owner is severely sick and might pass away. This might lead to adoption, depending on how happy the bird is and how we can provide for him.
I'm mainly worried about leaving the bird alone for an extended period of time. I work and am a student, but its online and I'll be graduating in 2 months. Eventually I'll be getting a full time job after my studies. My mum doesn't work and she's at home 24/7 so the bird will have company. But there will be times where he might be left alone for a whole day at maximum. We are also planning to go overseas for 2 months next year, and im happy to have him stay at a bird hotel type thing where he will be well taken care of because of high maintainable these birds are.
The bird is very friendly, loves to sit on people's shoulders while you work and is adventurous.
This is basically what I'm most concerned about. And please don't give me the "he needs attention 24/7, don't take him" because he was no where else to go, and im sure as hell most African grey owners aren't at home 24/7, and actually have jobs and a social life. I will literally make the earth move if I have to, to keep this bird happy.

2023.03.21 01:35 eseeze Why oculus just does not do it for me right now..

I still have a couple issues with oculus that causes me to not use it much.. I'm hopeful there will be updates.
  1. I've seen a couple old youtube videos of really dope custom VR apartments and I am so disappointed oculus is so limiting in it's home customization! We could have an augmented virtual reality! They keep adding bits of this with "experimental features" and it's so annoying that it's not just included already.
  2. Productivity in VR is currently so trash.. multiple desktops and videos are so slow and the current features do not create an efficient environment.. Here are some ideas that would make productivity in VR actually possible:
    1. Audio-to-text
    2. convenient and easy to access notepad
    3. sketchpad/paint
    4. drums or piano to play with
    5. immersive book reading environment
I did not do in in-depth research if all these features are actually available but I have been playing around with the oculus for some time and looked the internet several times for them. The available productivity apps have consistently been disappointing from my experience. Please feel free to share what of these features you have found for the oculus (hopefully that is also easy to apply and not some third-party and glitchy software).

2023.03.21 01:35 AdrianRad74 Short visit, long question(?).

Hello everyone. My girlfriend(45) and her daughter(13) are visiting US from Thailand on tourist visa. They have been here before, for two weeks, some years ago. I live here, her mom lives here as USC. She bought her tickets round-trip, 12 days lenght. She's a registered nurse, working for government hospital as department leader or so. Bank account, owns her house, we bougth new car a few months ago, bought land for building a new home. Plan is for me to move there once I get my contract done, in two years. The little one is in a private school, one of the top students. Absolutely no intent to stay over those 12 days, both of them having to be back for school and work. Now, I heard that a bad day at CBP can mess with your plans, and I don't want to jeopadize her vacation and put her in an unpleasant situation, especially with the kid. Questions: Is coming from Thailand a red flag? Is the kid having a different surname ( they have consent from dad) a red flag? Is having both me and her mom here a red flag? Should she mention both of us as travel reason? Only me? Only Mom? We don't want to lie, just that I heard the more you say, the more reason for suplimentar scrutinity you give. Thank you for any advice, especially coming from direct experience.
