confused by the switches to use modifed the switches used in the older post have a local file and just wanted captures (no video) so tried

but got an error about the *.png so changed that to

which gave a warning/error 'more than 1000 frames duplicated' 'could not get frame filename with strftime' 'error submitting a packet to the muxer: invalid argument' errot muxing a packet'
so obviously i have a bad switch :(
any suggestion for the correct switch? what I am ultimatly going for is capturing/record motion for a local file - if there are addition switches for that
am pouring over the many switches in ffmpeg to work it out myself but willing to take help - i did see that there is also ffplay and ffprobe are those better for this situation?
