I’m playing a barbarian, so lots of weapons, and of course many of them have sockets I can put gems into… but my question is this: If I put a gem that says “+damage to basic skills” into a weapon that I DON’T use for my basic skill… does that buff still improve my basic skills? Or is it wasted?

2023.06.08 07:19 GiganVsZilla2018 Mane Six vs Titan Shifters.

Overview

It's a fun day today, because today The Mane Six are going to be going up against 19 different Titan shifters to determin how would win.

Okay so how I'm going about this is I'm mainly focusing on the humans controling the Titans rather then the titans themselves. Also this is my personal opinion.

Round 1: Mane Six vs Armored Titan Reiner Braun.

So the first Titan the Mane Six will be facing off is Reiner Braun's Armored Titan.
Now when we first saw the Armored Titan it looked like an unstoppble killing machine, barraling through the wall, and shaking off canon shells like they were nothing. However later on we saw very clear, that under the right circumstances the Armored Titan can be broken.
When Eren, and Reiner first fought in Season 2 Eren realized that physcial punches wouldn't be very effective, so he switched to grappling moves, which ended up breaking Reiner's skin, and even ripping his arm off. Infact I have no doubt that had Bertholdt not interfeared with that dive bomb Eren would have won that fight. Also now that Eren can harden his fist, he's been absoultey dogging Reiner.
Reiner was also destroyed by Zeke's Beast Titan, and now there are weapons like Thunder Spears that can easily break the Armored Titan's armor.
Twilight's blast from her horn alone would be able to make a dent in Reiner's armor, sure in Season 1 she wasn't as powerful, but come Seasons 5-9, and she was on par with Celestia, and Luna. And there's no doubt that if she fought the Armored Titan when she was supercharged with all the Alicorn Magic like in the Season 4 finale she would absoultely obliterate Reiner.
Winner Mane Six

Round 2: Mane Six vs Cart Titan Pieck Finger

Now for Pieck. Now the Cart Titan is the smallest of the Nine Titans, but there are two adavangtes Pieck has, and that is speed, and intelligence.
Pieck has used her speed to help her fellow warriors mutiple times. Such as saving both Zeke, and Reiner from the Scouts.
Pieck is also able to do mutilpe consective transformations hundreds of times. This means she can eject her self out of her Titan, and then transform again.
Also she's usally equip with gun turrents and armor to help he fighting.
Despite this, and her intellegence I'm sure the Mane Six would figure out a way to defeat her and her Panzer Unit.
Winner Mane Six

Round 3: Mane Six vs Jaw Titan Marcel Gallaird.

Unfourtently we've only seen Marcel's Jaw Titan once when he along with the other warriors fought an enemy nation. Then he's eaten on their first night on Paradis.
What we do know about his personallity is that he was very kind and caring, and Reiner started acting that to basically cope with his guilt.
But because we haven't seen much of him in his Titan form I again have to give this to the Mane Six
Winner Mane Six

Round 4: Mane Six vs Jaw Titan Ymir.

Ymir was the first Jaw Titan we saw. Unlike other Jaw Titans Ymir didn't have any armor or hardening parts on her body. She was also overwhelmed by Pure Titans.
Winner Mane Six

Round 5: Mane Six vs Jaw Titan Porco Gallaird.

Now Porco's Jaw Titan is stronger, and faster then Ymir's Jaw Titan, and we've seen him in action the most, but Porco's problem is that he let's his emotions get the better of him, causing him to make rash descions, which is why for the fifth time in a row I have to say the Mane Six win again.
Winner Mane Six

Round 6: Mane Six vs Jaw Titan Falco Grice.

So Falco does have a few unique abilites such as being able to fly since he swallowed Zeke's spinal fluid giving him Beast Titan like abilites, but I don't think that would help him in a fight against the Elements of Harmony.
Winner Mane Six

Round 7: Mane six vs Female Titan Annie Leonhart.

Okay now this one. By god Annie was a beast. Not only was she a great fighter thanks to her father's traning. Not to mention her Titan is very powerful. As the Marley goverment said it's an all purpose Titan capable in every field. She was able to take out so many elite soldiers from the Scouts, and she's smart enough to wait, and bide her time before making her move. Sorry, but because of all of Annie's abilites I have to give the Mane Six their first loss.
Winner Female Titan

Round 8: Mane Six vs Beast Titan Tom Ksaver.

Tom Ksaver was the father that Grisha never was to Zeke, he inherited the Beast Titan and took the form of a bighorn sheep. Unfourtently his Beast Titan was not sutted for battle, and instead Ksaver mainly did research on the Titans for Marley. This battle is easy to figure out the outcome.
Winner Mane Six

Round 9: Mane Six vs Beast Titan Zeke Yeager.

Now Zeke was a much more capable Beast Titan then Tom. Not only did Zeke have long arms that allowed him to grab objects, and throw them long distances. Also since he had Royal Blood he could do things other Beast Titans couldn't do, such as creating Pure Titans by screaming.
Zeke is also very smart. Combinde that with all the debries being hurled at them, and you give the Mane Six a run for their money.
Winner Beast Titan Zeke Yeager.

Round 10: Mane Six vs Warhammer Titan Lara Tybur.

Okay so while the Warhammer Titan does have cool abilties such as creating spikes, and weapons, but also being able to remotley control the Titan by a crystal underground. Yes the Warhammer Titan has amazing abilites, but considering that Eren defeated easily defeated it, no doubt the Mane Six could too.
Winner Mane Six.

Round 11: Mane Six vs Attack Titan Eren Kruger.

Again we only see Kruger's Titan once, and we don't know what type of abiltes it had, but we can assume it had the same abiltes as all other Attack Titans, but these would not be enough to beat the Mane Six.
Winner Mane Six

Round 12: Mane Six vs Attack Titan Grisha Yeager.

Again we only know of two times that Grisha used the Attack Titan. Once to make it to the Walls, and once again to kill the Reiss Family, and steal the Founding Titan combing both it, and the Attack Titan. However I don't think this would help him as since he didn't have Royal Blood he couldn't acess the Founding Titans power. So he looses.
Winner Mane Six

Round 13: Mane Six vs Attack Titan Eren Yegaer.

When Eren first started as a Titan he was easily defeated by Annie's Female Titan, later after months of training he got better at fighting. But even though he gained hardning abiltes as well as the Warhammer Titan he would still loose.
Winner Mane Six

Round 14: Mane Six vs Colossal Titan Bertholdt Hoover.

The largest of the Nine Titans, The Colossal Titan is a powerhouse, being able to create a massive explosion upon transforming. However the Colossal Titan is slow, and is not suited for long term battles. It does have one ability though, and that is to shoot out jets of hot steam to act as a barrier. However this steam only comes from the musscles, If you attach ODM gear to bones you won't get blow away, but will get seriously burned. The problem with this, is that Bertholdt does not fall for the same trick twice, so if any of the Mane six tried to use this against him, he would likely remember what Armin did, and just swat them away with his massive arm.
Winner Colossal Titan Bertholdt Hoover

Round 15: Mane Six vs Colossal Titan Armin Arlert.

Armin has the same abiltes, and since he was the one to figure out that you needed to attach to the bones in order to not be blown away by the steam so he wouldn't fall for that trick. But Armin is a good boi, he's a bean. So there wouldn't even be a fight.
Winner No one, they'd become friends

Round 16: Mane Six vs Founding Titan Ymir Fritz.

Ymir Fritz is the OG Titan, having all the abilties of every Titan that ever existed. The Mane Six could not defeat something like that.
Winner Ymir Fritz

Round 17: Mane Six vs Founding Titan Karl Fritz.

This is the King who created the Walls, as well as the Vow Reouncing War basically meaning that the Founding Titan would not be used for war. Because of this he would not win.
Winner Mane Six

Round 18: Mane Six vs Founding Titan Uri Reiss.

We only saw him once, and it wasn't even a full transformation just a Partial one. But still he was bounded by Karl Fritz's will, meaning Uri did not have acess to the Founding Titan's full power.
Winner Mane Six

Round 19: Mane Six vs Founding Titan Freida Reiss.

Again we only see her once, where she fights and looses to Grisha's Attack Titan due to being bounded by the First King's Will not giving her access to the Founding Titan's full power.
Winner Mane Six

Round 20: Mane Six vs Founding Titan Eren Yeager.

The first person in over a hundred years to gain the full power of the Founding Titan. However since Eren's Founding Titan was really just a long skelteton like centepiede thing it would only take one blast from Twilight on his head to defeat him, even if he had full support from the Rumbling. So while it would be a hard fight, the Mane Six could still pull it off.
Winner Mane Six

Final Verdict

So after 20 rounds The Mane Six won 15, and the Titans won 4. The Mane Six, and Friendship and Magic once again triumphs.

Your Champions!

2023.06.08 07:18 medrech React Native Development Services: How to Choose the Right Company for Your Project

Introduction: What is React Native and How Can It Benefit Your Business?

In today's digital age, mobile applications have become an essential tool for businesses to engage with their customers. With the increasing demand for mobile apps, developers are constantly seeking efficient ways to build high-quality applications that can run seamlessly on multiple platforms. This is where React Native comes into play. React Native is a popular framework that allows developers to build cross-platform mobile apps using JavaScript. It combines the best of both worlds by offering the performance of native apps with the flexibility of web development.
React Native offers several benefits for businesses. Firstly, it enables cost-effective development as a single codebase can be used to create apps for both iOS and Android platforms, saving time and resources. Secondly, it provides a smooth user experience with fast rendering and native-like performance. Lastly, React Native allows for easy code sharing, updates, and maintenance, making it a popular choice for businesses looking to develop mobile apps.

How to Evaluate React Native Development Companies - 5 Tips to Follow ?

When it comes to choosing a React Native development company for your project, it's crucial to select a reliable and skilled team that can bring your app idea to life. Here are five tips to help you evaluate and choose the right company:
  1. Experience and Expertise: Look for a company with a proven track record in React Native development. Check their portfolio and client testimonials to assess their expertise in building high-quality mobile applications. An experienced team will have the knowledge and skills to handle complex projects and deliver exceptional results.
  2. Development Process and Methodologies: Understand the company's development process and methodologies. A well-defined and transparent process ensures efficient collaboration, timely delivery, and effective communication throughout the project. Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban can be advantageous for React Native development.
  3. Skill Set and Team Composition: Evaluate the skill set and composition of the development team. A strong team should include skilled React Native developers, UI/UX designers, QA testers, and project managers. Assess their qualifications, expertise, and ability to work collaboratively to ensure a successful outcome.
  4. Client References and Reviews: Reach out to previous clients or references provided by the company. Inquire about their experience working with the company, the quality of deliverables, adherence to timelines, and overall satisfaction. Online reviews and ratings can also provide valuable insights into the company's reputation.
  5. Communication and Support: Effective communication is crucial for the success of any development project. Ensure that the company has a responsive communication channel and provides regular updates on the project's progress. Additionally, inquire about their post-development support and maintenance services to ensure long-term assistance.

What Kind of Services Can You Expect from a React Native Development Company?

A reputable React Native development company can offer a wide range of services to cater to your specific requirements. Some of the key services you can expect include:
  1. Custom React Native App Development: The company can develop custom React Native applications tailored to your business needs, ensuring a unique and seamless user experience.
  2. UI/UX Design and Prototyping: The company can provide UI/UX design services to create visually appealing and intuitive interfaces for your mobile app. They can also create prototypes to validate your app's design before development.
  3. API Integration and Backend Development: A React Native development company can handle the integration of third-party APIs and develop a robust backend infrastructure to support your app's functionality.
  4. Quality Assurance and Testing: The company will conduct comprehensive testing to ensure your app's performance, usability, and security. This includes functional testing, compatibility testing, performance testing, and bug fixing.
  5. App Deployment and Support: Once your app is developed, the company can assist you with app deployment to the respective app stores. They can also provide ongoing support and maintenance services to address any issues or updates that may arise.

Best Practices for Choosing the Right React Native Development Company

To ensure a successful partnership with a React Native development company, consider the following best practices:
  1. Define Your Requirements: Clearly define your project requirements, goals, and expectations before approaching a development company. This will help you find a company that aligns with your vision and has the necessary expertise to deliver the desired outcome.
  2. Request Detailed Proposals: Ask the shortlisted companies to provide detailed proposals outlining their approach, timelines, cost estimates, and deliverables. Compare these proposals to make an informed decision based on your project's needs and budget.
  3. Conduct Interviews and Assess Cultural Fit: Schedule interviews with the potential development companies to get a better understanding of their team, communication style, and work culture. A good cultural fit ensures smoother collaboration and a better overall experience.
  4. Consider Long-Term Partnership: Developing a mobile app is not a one-time endeavor. Consider the potential for a long-term partnership with the development company for future updates, maintenance, and support. Choose a company that demonstrates a commitment to long-term relationships.

The Advantages of Hiring an Experienced React Native Development Company Vs. In-House Team

While building an in-house team for React Native development may seem like a viable option, there are several advantages to hiring an experienced React Native development company:
  1. Expertise and Specialization: React Native development companies specialize in mobile app development, specifically using React Native. They have a team of experienced developers with expertise in building high-quality cross-platform apps. Their focused knowledge and skills can lead to faster development and better results.
  2. Cost-Effectiveness: Hiring an in-house team involves significant costs, including recruitment, salaries, benefits, infrastructure, and training. On the other hand, a React Native development company offers a cost-effective solution as you pay for the development services on a project basis.
  3. Faster Time to Market: React Native development companies have the necessary tools, resources, and streamlined processes to expedite the development process. They can help you get your app to the market faster, giving you a competitive advantage.
  4. Scalability and Flexibility: As your project evolves, you may require scaling up or down the development team. React Native development companies can quickly accommodate your changing needs, providing the flexibility to ramp up resources when necessary.
Conclusion
Choosing the right React Native development company is crucial for the success of your mobile app project. By evaluating the company's experience, expertise, services, and support, you can make an informed decision that aligns with your business goals. Remember to consider long-term partnership potential and the advantages of hiring an experienced React Native development company over an in-house team. With the right partner, you can leverage the power of React Native to build robust, cross-platform mobile applications that drive your business forward.

2023.06.08 07:18 MunucaMoon My upbringing involved marrying my father in an inbred Satanic cult.

I'm a teen boy from a Satanic cult in Portland' Maine, raised to marry my father since before I was born.
My father used a surrogate in the city, paying her around ten thousand dollars to give birth to me and sign away her rights. My mother knew beforehand that my dad was part of the cult in which I was raised, but was not given any details about the situation or the paperwork she signed, to my knowledge I don't think she wanted to know.
I'm nearly the age of graduating, but instead I'll be working part-time with my father in the hills and spending the rest of my time doing household chores. He expects me to take on the traditional role of a homemaker in our relationship.
(Our religion has strict guidelines. Deviations from these rules will result in expulsion and exclusion, similar to but distinct from the Amish community.
The religion I was raised in has strict rules regarding communication with non-members and requires adherents to cover their bodies with long sleeves, hats, and gloves for purity reasons. Maintaining cleanliness is also critical, which involves daily scrubbing when in contact with city people. My family refers to those who live in the city as 'dirty and unkempt'.
We, like the Amish, avoid possessing photos and don dark clothing. Our religion requires us to gather monthly in a shelter to discuss our beliefs and regulations.)
My father sexually abused me from a young age, progressing to intercourse in late middle school. Despite my fear and confusion, he insisted it was natural and that we were meant to be together. He falsely promised the pain would subside, but it never did.
He coerces me into performing oral sex, watching porn together, and masturbating often. He has possessive and controlling behavior and is abusive in multiple ways including physically, emotionally, and mentally. He also has issues with anger and threatens to harm me if I ever attempt to leave the religion or our relationship.
(I'm using my friend's phone to write this. Her partner is also her parent but they're less strict and don't check her devices often. Unlike them, my father doesn't allow me to have a phone.)
I've been friends with Brooklyn since we were young. However, my father has prohibited me from having any male friends, as he has his own set of rules separate from our religious beliefs. I experience severe abuse from my father. I am daily repeatedly sexually assaulted by him, as he forcefully grabbed and pinned me down for over an hour without my consent. Despite this, I have feelings for him and he is the only person I have been with or ever will be with.
I am afraid to ever have sex with anyone who is not a family member due to my personal beliefs. Although I have a strong desire for sex with my father, he physically abuses and verbally attacks me when I make advancements towards him, even if I am attempting to seduce him, which goes against the rules of our relationship.

2023.06.08 07:18 atomicwanderer111 [NJ] Railroaded at work, being blamed for stuff that wasn't my fault, demoted.

I drive for a local trucking company in New Jersey, my training was rushed and I was thrown on a run that I had to learn how to do myself and I learned it pretty quick.
Yesterday, I was given a truck extremely late into my shift that set me back about 90 minutes. I asked my dispatcher if I could take a shortcut and they said no and to continue on the regular route, and that's what I did. I ended up being even more late, and i had to take two breaks (one to use the bathroom for an emergency and a 5m one because I've been driving for 6 hours straight).
When I got back after my 2nd break, my dispatcher calls me and yells at me saying why I waited for 5 minutes in x location and that she's demoting me back to training for being an hour and a half late the whole day. When I got back to the base, she showed me a printout of my "GPS timepoints" that showed when I stopped, when I was going slow, etc etc, but it dosent show traffic, train crossings, or etc.
Can I do anything about this? I'm essentially being railroaded for stuff that isn't in my control and now I'm being demoted for something that isn't my fault..

2023.06.08 07:18 JustPassinhThrou13 About the statistic that “76% of the time, winning game 1 means winning the championship”

This is a math post.
This is about winning a best of 3 series, given that team A has already won the first game of the series. If two teams were truly evenly matched and had a 50% chance of winning each game (including the first game), the team that DID win the first game would win the series 75% of the time. So for teams that are literally as evenly matched as coin-flips, winning the first game means 75% chance of winning the series. So we would never expect a number below 75% for this, because that would mean that winning the first game made you less likely to win subsequent games, which would be truly weird under normal circumstances (given a large sample size, which we don’t necessarily have, but that’s okay).
The statistic for the super regional was 81% of teams that win the first game win the series. I went through the math on that here:
https://www.reddit.com/CollegeSoftball/comments/13uf5p0/about_the_whole_81_of_teams_that_win_game_1_go_on/
During the championship game 1 broadcast, the announcers said that for the championship series, the statistic is 76%. This is very close to the theoretical lower limit of 75%. And it makes sense that it should be closer, you would expect the two best teams to be more evenly matched that teams in super-regionals that were intentionally selected to give an advantage to higher-seeded teams.
So what does that 76% mean for, on average, how much better the team that win the first game is than the team that lost that game? Using the formula derived in the post linked above, we plug in numbers and get straight up 51%. In the natties, statistically the better teams wins 51% of the time and the less good teams win 49% of the time.
If wewant to look at it a lurker differently and compare the win percentages, we divide 0.51 by 0.49 and get 1.04 . Which can be reasonably interpreted as “the better team is about 4% more likely to win that the less-good team”. And to me this is just crazy-go-nuts close to reflecting an even match-up, at least for the numbers we have.
On average, the better team is only 4% better than the second best team.
The next question you may have is “okay, so now we know how closely the teams play in the natty series (on average), can we figure out how often a single-game series would give the same result? Could we just save time and have LESS softball? And the answer is yes, that’s actually the number we started with: 76% of the time, a single-game series gets the same result as a best-of-3 series, in the championship.
But what if we went best-of-5 or best-of-7? Would that change things? Eh, probably, but I don’t have a pencil handy to do any math. So maybe I’ll write that up a little later, as well as point out the flat in the math I’ve done so far here.

Brake fluid warning light 😭
Hi, everyone! 2015 Mini Cooper Countryman warning light for brake fluid just went live. Dad suggests to buy brake fluid and just pour some more. I checked the container and it looks like it’s not near low — the fluid was in between max and min, more of a middle-ish level. I need my car for work tomorrow which is a 20 mile round trip. Is it safe for me to use it? Do I heed to my dad’s advice or just take it to the shops? Thank you!!

2023.06.08 07:18 FlwrPwr4thPpl 44 [M4F] #LosAngeles ~ Good looking, SWM (single white man) looking for a loyal loving, naturally busty, good-girl friend

I like a range of personality and attractive physical traits, but I feel the deepest chemistry, desire for kissing, loving and more for a woman who is blessed with large natural breasts. Only naturals do it for me, from fuller firmer perky to a mature tear dropping hanging look with lots of under cleavage. Larger naturals often have some sagging and that is sexy to me, but I hear some women don't like using that term. My desires relate to how big naturals look, feel, move, jiggle and react to rhythms of fun together. I like to give a woman I'm with back massages or full body, releasing stresses, aches, knots, tensions, that may help with our sleep or as foreplay. Also helping her feel good being naturally blessed and so she'll never consider a reduction. I'd be her personal physical pleasure therapist. I like big naturals on a slender body to a very healthy, bigger busty hour-glass body with a noticeable hip-waist ratio. There are also other features I prefer to be bigger because they give me more desires to kiss, appreciate and please her. I'm in shape mainly from a healthful natural diet and working regularly out at home and some outdoors, all of which can be fun to do together with a good-girl, friend or more. I have features in a good-looking range, blue eyes, nice hair, cut abs. I like to communicate with a woman with the intention of dating, developing into more than hook-ups. Maybe I'm cautious and old-fashioned about dating, but I have a wild side too, relating to kissing, pleasing and animalistic loving which can be fun fitness, for hours at a time, even with edging and ANR. For the right woman, I love keeping her loyal, with kisses, cuddling to the deepest love making. Please only reply if live around Los Angeles or maybe Southern CA.

2023.06.08 07:17 IDE_IS_LIFE Is Quest 1 Airlink / Oculus Link exactly the same in terms of bandwidth as Quest 2?

Basically, I'm looking at selling my Quest 2 to put towards funds for a Quest 3, and looking at putting a portion of that into a Quest 1. I pretty much only use PCVR as standalone isn't really where it's at for me. The only big factor that I have to consider though is bandwidth.
So, my question is, does the Quest 1 (with its Snapdragon 835 soc) support the same Oculus link with 500Mbps bitrate and airlink with 200Mbps bitrate that the Quest 2 with its XR2 chipset supports?
Bonus question, due to the lower refresh rate and native resolution, would compression artifacting be lowered due to the lower number of encoded pixels and frames per second being squeezed into whatever bandwidth is available for a given link to your PC?

2023.06.08 07:17 Trick-Still-3599 Coincidences of HIV, Herpes, or should I be concerned?

I don’t know how to post pictures? If knows, please let me know!
This is a long story, so I’m going to try to give bullet points & can fill in information as needed. I understand that I need to see a doctor for 100% accurate results, but I am unable to for the time being. Thank you to anyone willing to offer input.
It’s been 81 days now, post-(potential) exposure and I just keep over analyzing everything and taking everything as a sign.
Ie: I removed fake acrylic nails, and my nails had green bacterial infectious spots. Like wtf. And I had what I thought was a bug bite on my bicep last week… I used “The BugBite Thing” which suctions the bite to get the saliva out & stop itching And this week it’s still there & it was pretty itchy and raw after a hot shower (I’ll put pics of this too)
I plan to test again with Oraquick once I’m at 90 days, unless you recommend a different test? I also want to test for Herpes just in case, because the rash really scared me.
Any input would be so helpful. Thank you all for understanding!

2023.06.08 07:17 roguespectre67 My [25M] sister [23F] seems intent on using my father as her enforcer to get what she wants out of me, and I'm about at my breaking point.

So before I start this, it's important to know that I just got hired at a very nice job and will be moving out to get my own place before my birthday at the end of October. I'm going to be saving most of my income between now and them in order to build up an emergency fund prior to moving out on my own. Right now, we all live in the same house.
Anyway, I have absolutely no idea how to handle this situation involving my sister. In a nutshell, my sister is extraordinarily demanding of everybody, and every time she wants anything from me, she immediately involves my dad to try and act as her enforcer. I'm going to put in a good-faith effort to be objective about the situation, but as with anything like this, I might not be perfect.
To lay the groundwork, my father has always handled her problem behavior with a pacifist mentality, believing it to be the way to avoid conflict with her, where I've always been the subject of discipline (as a child) and almost constant verbal arguments as I've gotten older to "teach me" things when deemed necessary (this very post is coming on the heels of a "discussion" that was demanded by my sister as punishment for moving her two loads of laundry in the washer and dryer down the chain so I could wash a load of mine, apparently before the load in the dryer was dry, despite it being hot and feeling pretty damn dry to me?). Because of this, she seems to have gotten it into her head that all that's needed to get her way is to either just take and do what she wants, and if you don't like it, tough shit, or cause enough of a problem that someone just decides it's less effort to just give her what she wants to make it stop. She's also immediately, acutely aggressive if you don't roll over for her-verbal insults, profanity, condescension, talking over you every chance she gets. Because of that, I often find myself on the receiving end of these problems, and so I've basically adopted a policy of limiting my interaction with her as much as possible so that, frankly, I don't have to listen to it.
However, this does not stop her from trying to involve me in drama when she wants something. I'll provide 3 examples here:
This January, at my previous job, we found a cat in a box on our doorstep. We called around, took him to the vet to check for tags, nothing. So I volunteered to take him in after bringing it up with everyone in the house and getting their OK on the condition that looking after him was my sole responsibility, and I took the lunch break to stop by Petco for some basic supplies and bring him home. My sister was home, and upon seeing him, asked me what I'd named him, and when I told her, she said, "We're not calling my cat that name." I was definitely taken aback by this, but I had to get back to work, and she volunteered to take care of him while I finished the work day, so I left the supplies with her and went back. For the next 3 or 4 days, she kept this cat locked in her room with her small dog, saying she was "acclimating" him because "she knew best" since "I'd never had a cat" (I should explain that my job was at a pet-based nonprofit, and she'd never had a cat either). Long story short, I didn't much like this, which led to massive argument in which she basically browbeat me over "dumping" this cat on her and then leaving for work again, buying "shit" supplies, not having the "ability" or "knowledge" to take care of a cat, that her dog had gotten attached and what kind of monster would I be if I separated them when I moved out, on and on, ergo my parents supposedly agreed that he was her cat, and if I didn't agree with that assessment, she'd be taking him to the pound because she "didn't really want" this cat in the first place. I guess I'm too empathetic towards animals because I couldn't let that happen just to "win" an argument. My dad and I had a "discussion" after that.
About 2 months ago, I got a random text from her saying that she would be taking my dirt bike and its stuff to her storage unit so that she could use the space in the garage to hold furniture (I should mention, she quit her job a while ago and is now making money buying and selling furniture on Facebook and whatnot, and has filled up the back patio, most of the backyard, most of the garage, and about a third of the driveway with sofas and whatever, all with EZ-Ups and tarps over them). I basically told her to pound sand because she would not be moving a vehicle registered to me without my consent. She purportedly went to my dad over this and told me that "he said she could". I correctly called bullshit on that, but that didn't stop him pulling me aside for a "discussion" later about how I should've handled the dispute differently.
Over the past month, she has gotten it into her head that I owe her cash for cleaning and other supplies for our bathroom, despite the fact that my parents pay a cleaning service to come once a week and clean the whole house including our bathroom. She says she's totaled up the receipts for "my share", and over the past month it's gone up from $40 I apparently "owe", to $125 I "owe", and apparently I'll "owe" her $25 a month for however long I'm here. Now, she does typically buy the toilet paper, but that's literally the only thing I use that I don't buy myself, and I've explicitly said before that the only reason I don't buy it is because I never know when it's almost gone. Admittedly, I had intended to give her the $40 she wanted a while ago, but between my brand-new day job of at least 50 hours every week and my freelance job and other things I've been insanely busy and it just kept slipping my mind. Anyway, a few days ago I get a random text telling me the whole "you owe me $125 plus $25 a month" thing, to which I basically responded "fuck off, I'll give you the $40 you said you wanted, and then from now on when we need anything for the bathroom, you're going to tell me and I'm going to buy it, because I'm not just going to give you money to buy shit you say we need but have no way of verifying that's what you're buying" (she has severely broken my trust more than once, but that's a separate issue). She tells me that's not good enough and that "dad's going to talk to you when you get home". I get home to find them talking, at which point I try to give her $40 in cash, which she refuses, and so to avoid giving her the ability to a) accuse me of not giving her the money and b) start a new argument, I drop it on the floor and walk off. I've heard her basically berating my dad more than once since then about "talking to your son, unless you want to be a little fucking puss about it".
The aftermath of 3 has basically led to my dad trying to "both-sides" this issue. I tried to make it perfectly clear to him that I don't voluntarily interact with her or my parents (very much) because I just straight-up don't want to get myself involved. I come home from work, head to my room, and keep to myself. And now, my dad is basically trying to guilt-trip me into doing it. I asked him how many times it takes of getting bitten by a dog in the neighborhood before you just stop trying to be its friend, and he basically pulled the "Well, if that's your choice to cut off family, there's nothing I can say to you to change your mind", because he himself is the black sheep of the family and hasn't even spoken to his mom in decades at this point.
What the fuck do I even do? I'm not even actively hostile to anybody in this situation. The best comparison would be that episode of Drake and Josh where Josh is just "done" with Drake. I don't much care what she's up to or what's going on in her life. I just want her to leave me the fuck alone because I honestly can't even remember the last time she was nice or even not-mean towards me, but that apparently makes me as much of a bad guy as her.
TL;DR: sister uses dad as her enforcer when she creates drama and wants her way, as a result I basically want nothing to do with her. Dad seems to be trying to guilt-trip me into engaging with what I see as an incredibly toxic relationship. What do?

2023.06.08 07:17 Vivid_Air3948 How can I help my husband manage his symptoms?

Managing herpes symptoms can be challenging, but there are several steps your husband can take to reduce the frequency and severity of outbreaks. Here are a few tips that might help:
  1. Encourage your husband to take antiviral medication. Antiviral medications, such as acyclovir, valacyclovir, and famciclovir, can reduce the frequency and severity of herpes outbreaks. Your husband should talk to his healthcare provider about whether antiviral medication is right for him.
  2. Help your husband reduce stress. Stress can trigger herpes outbreaks, so it's important to help your husband find ways to manage stress. This might include practicing relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing or meditation, getting regular exercise, or seeking professional support from a therapist.
  3. Encourage your husband to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Eating a balanced diet, getting enough sleep, and avoiding tobacco and excessive alcohol consumption can help support your husband's immune system and reduce the likelihood of outbreaks.
  4. Help your husband avoid triggers. Certain factors, such as sun exposure, friction, or certain foods, can trigger herpes outbreaks. Encourage your husband to identify his triggers and take steps to avoid them.
  5. Promote safe sex practices. Herpes is a sexually transmitted infection, so it's important to practice safe sex to prevent transmission. This might include using condoms or dental dams during sex, avoiding sexual contact during outbreaks, and being honest and open with sexual partners about herpes status.
It's essential to support your husband in managing his herpes symptoms, but it's ultimately up to him to decide how to manage his condition. Encourage him to work closely with his healthcare provider to develop a treatment plan that's right for him.
